We had a great experience here! I got the Kua Gai and it was fantastic, and I have never had it before, it was a very, very big portion for how much it was! ($17) and I believe it was worth every penny! The one drawback is that they didn’t do any substitutions which I feel like they definitely could’ve done because I didn’t like calamari, but other than that the chicken was tender. The noodles were so bouncy and yummy. The ingredients tasted really fresh and the service was very fast! Honestly, the only complaint was that the service felt a bit rushed because it was so crowded but the server was very friendly despite this! Overall, I really liked my experience and I would definitely go back!!! The dish I ordered is not a very common one on normal Thai restaurant menus so I would definitely go back!!

Diner Review №3

I visited Berkeley and was looking for something to eat when I came across this Thai restaurant. The food was really nice! It was my first time trying Yen Ta Fo, super tasty! I also had Pad Thai and Thai tea, both delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Great experience overall!

Diner Review №4

There was a medium wait at 3pm on a Saturday. The food is just mid. Flavors could be stronger for each dish. We tried the boat noodles, pad kee mao, green curry tofu, and pad see yew. All are just ok.

Diner Review №5

Nice place, good food, decent wait (30-45mins) for a Saturday at 1:30pm. There’s a great bookstore around the corner if you want to kill time!

We ordered pad thai, pad see ew, pad kee mao, kua gai and moo ping.

The pads’ noodles/flat noodles are chewy! Kua gai was interesting, with the same flat noodles. My beef pad see ew wasn’t too sweet but the beef was way overcooked/dry (suggestion: get pork). The moo ping starter was well marinated meats but way too dry, even with their chili lime dipping sauce, it isn’t lubricate it doesn’t much.

Would eat again!

Diner Review №6

Pretty underwhelming experience.

Food is basic and nothing special. Coconut based soup was watered down. Pork jerky soft and lot of little peices instead of large chunks. The fired pumpkin snack was good but would be better with some spice.

Long story short, well not be returning. There are a lot of better options in Berkeley.

Diner Review №7

Food was ok but service really sucks. My friend and I went there around 5:20pm which we are pretty sure they’re open, and there are many seats available inside. Then a lady came to us and slap the door really rudely directly in front of us and told us to put name on the wl??? We definitely see guests eating in side and had no idea why she did that. Anyway not a good experience at all.

Diner Review №8

They were closed, although their website said they were open.

Diner Review №9

Probably the best Thai in the Bay Area, fair prices and above all adequate quantities. 18 dollars for a great Pad Thai, adequate size and delicious flavor.

Got take out from here, the food was really good, I enjoyed it a lot.

Diner Review №14

It’s loud there, we were seated at back next to stove and the pan was hitting the stove every 20 seconds :(
Noodles are good
Fried pumpkin- only get it if u like eggrolls, they were oily so I pealed them
Spring rolls - mid can be improved
mango sticky rice - mid nothing special

Diner Review №15

Not quite like being in Bangkok, but had a nice vibe. Straight forward good quality food. I had Tom yum soup and Som Tum salad. It was spicy, but not overly done. I recommend. Service was efficient and prompt.

Diner Review №18

The food here is so yummy! We had Fried Kabocha (pumpkin), Pad See Euw, Spicy Eggplant, and Green Curry. Fried pumpkin came out piping hot, crisp on the outside - delicious! Also, a yummy dipping sauce with crispy peanuts. The pad see euw is thick, tender noodles with Chinese broccoli and your choice of meat. It tends to be on the slightly sweet side, but balances the savory dishes. Spicy Eggplant was steaming hot on arrival with tender eggplant and garlic sauce. The green curry was new to us. It was described as herbaceous. All the veggies are tender as well as the thinly sliced chicken. Service was great with water at the table. This place is popular so you may have to wait for a table! Price is about right.

Diner Review №19

Best Thai food in Bay Area

Diner Review №20

We ordered the pad kee mao with chicken, spicy basil fried rice with egg - one with, chicken and the other with tofu, and we also got the fried rolls. The entree portions were a bit large for us, and the fried rolls were slightly oily. However, the entrees had great flavor. If you’re not a fan of the peanuty sweetness in Pad Thai, the Pad kee mao is a great savoury alternative.

It was very good! The staff was very attentive and nice. The atmosphere was fun. And the food was absolutely delicious!

Diner Review №23

I really enjoyed the food

Diner Review №24

One of the best Thai food! The 30 minute wait was worth it. Had grilled chicken satay and Tom Kha soup for starters. For main course we had Spicy fried rice, Red curry and Pad kee Mao. All of them were excellent.

Diner Review №25

Diner Review №27

Pumpkin 🎃 curry 🍛 over rice was delicious 🤤. Restaurant was crowded with college students but we didn’t waited for long time to get seated. The roasted duck noodle soup was also good but too sweet.

Diner Review №28

Great service! I ordered shrimp pad see ew, I should have asked to make it spicy. I came to this place since I saw an Instagram reel that this is the best Thai restaurant in Berkeley. It was pretty standard thai food. I’ll try other dishes next time!

Diner Review №29

Looks very popular with the college kids and, if the pra ram is anything to go by, justifiably so.

Diner Review №30

Extremely busy on Sunday, full packed. Long line outside too. Me and wife ordered a take out, and food was quite a disappointment
At least not our cup of tea. Many items didn't look remotely as shown on menu pictures, quiet opposite. I would not eat here again, but you enjoy it if you like it. BTW Staff was super nice and fast

Diner Review №31

We went on Sunday around 4:30pm and place was busy. Food was okay.

Diner Review №36

Diner Review №37

I ordered the sweet chicken. The flavor was good, but the chicken was terrible. It was not meaty at all! It tasted like I was eating hard dried up pieces of skin.

Diner Review №38

Unfortunately they lied about the wait time saying 15-30 min but in reality we had to wait over an hour in the freezing cold.

Diner Review №39

I was treated terribly without respect.

Diner Review №40

Super curt service. I would not reorder for this reason.

Diner Review №41

Imm Thai serves ridiculously good Thai food and is one of my favorites in the Bay Area. I no longer go to college anymore but will go out of my way to come back to Berkeley just to visit them.

The restaurant interior is on the cozier smaller side so it tends to be busy at all times of the day but the wait isn’t too long as they turn tables quickly. Food here is the star of the show and you’ll have plenty of options to choose from.

My personal favorite dishes are the pad see ew, pad kee mao, and the pumpkin curry though you’ll want to try everything. Each dish is reasonably priced so you can feel good coming back again and again. They’re located right on University next to campus and other popular spots so stop in!

Diner Review №42

Diner Review №43

Fast and delicious Thai dishes. One of my favorite places for Pad Ke Mao as it’s got a perfect level of hot wok singe to the string beans and onions. It’s always busy so be prepared for a wait and to be packed in a bit. Service is excellent.

Diner Review №45

I really like the service and atmosphere. Sadly not many vegan options and you have to "veganize" them. I think a lot of the dishes can be made vegan and I wish there was better labeling for them. The staff is very accommodating and knows their dishes well. I recommend to vegans but I also think they need to add more dishes!

Diner Review №53

Great food variety and good quality. I always bring my friends and family here.

Diner Review №56

been coming to Imm Thai for years and have always loved the food. The Tom Yum soup is the best in Berkeley, if not the Bay!

however, this new take-out "policy" requiring patrons to get out their credit card (and even photo ID today!) is ridiculous. not a single other place in the Bay has ever asked me anything but a name for a take-out order. it's both time consuming and entirely unhelpful -- I'm sure you love seeing me dig through my purse for my ID *and* the credit card I used to purchase it to verify that the name I gave you matches the bag.

I'm not even sure why they're doing this. it's such a drag and does nothing to prevent someone from stealing take-out orders

I would highly recommend one of the other awesome Thai (and other!) restaurants who aren't as weird or demanding

Diner Review №57

omg food is fire!! Mango sticky rice, roti, Kua Gai was amazing — they have a tell waitlist, we waited around 15 min:) 100% worth it

Diner Review №58

Food is good, but some of the servers are super rude.

Diner Review №59

Best PAD SE EW in the east bay! Seriously. The WINGS are great and the SALADS are bright and fresh. Service here is incredibly quick. All of our food and drinks came out in less than 10 minutes. Ask for the house CHILI SAUCE to get the most out of the flavors on offer. I also enjoyed the HOT GINGER TEA to finish.

Diner Review №60

This places describes American culture well.
Often I think how can a country keep making such awful decisions, but it all became very clear to me last night.
I’ve passed this restaurant many times and it’s always packed, it got me wondering how good the food actually was. I mean, just look at the reviews and all these queues.
Yesterday I visited this place for the first time and most likely the last time too.
The food was beyond awful, probably one of the worst thai restaurants I’ve ever visited.
The food was straight up bad, the pad thai tasted like it was marinated in ketchup, the red curry tasted like the curry paste wasn’t even dissolved in water properly, the larb was just mediocre and the beer warm.
The server was beyond rude and the only unforgettable thing about this experience is how much the food sucked.
I am never coming back here, plenty of good thai places around the corner in Berkeley. This wasn’t one of them.
I wonder how this place can have such good reviews, have these customers even tried real thai food at all or even been to Thailand? I don’t think so. They probably just like this place because these reviews say so, herd mentality, so accurate for this country.

Diner Review №61

Very disappointed considering how good the food looks visually, the ratings, and how long the wait is for a table. We ordered the pad Thai, red curry, and larb salad. All were mediocre. $20 for shrimp curry with only 4 shrimps in there. The larb should have all the herbs finely diced so you get flavor in every bit but there were just lazy blobs of mint. The phad Thai just tasted very flat and ketchupy. Not sure what the hype is with this place..

Diner Review №62

Diner Review №63

Diner Review №64

Got two dishes, food is banger.

Limited seating because this place is popular.

Waitress was rude. I was debating between two options and asked if she could provide more details and she rudely just said “ugh they are 2 different dishes” and didn’t provide any info on the portion size or general flavor or popularity.

Diner Review №65

Food was ok but I feel it was not worth the wait or hype. My biggest gripe is with the lady who served us and the menu. My friend has a shellfish allergy. The duck soup on the menu did not specify any shellfish in the ingredients and neither did they have a symbol as an indication (like menus at such establishments usually have). We ordered one only to realize it had shrimp. When we asked the server she didn’t know either and had to check with the cook. She came back to tell us it has shrimp. She was rude and short with us. Said it was our responsibility to tell and not theirs to specify on the menu or ask for any allergies. She said she could do a replacement this time. The menu also specifically says that the soups can be made “vegetarian”. Idk what they mean by that because when we asked her if the soup could be made without shrimp she said no. Maybe the server was having a bad day but her behaviour definitely ruined the experience for us.

Diner Review №66

I waited 45 minutes to be seated, although there were empty tables. Waitress was kind of rude. Food quality and portion was ok.

Diner Review №67

Diner Review №68

The drunken noodles and wings were amazing, but it's definitely on the pricy side. At lunch time it's very busy as well, so take out was much easier.

Diner Review №69

Reasonably good tasting Thai food. The chicken satay and red curry were quite good. The tofu fresh rolls were okay. The tom yum soup was flavorful, but not the best I've eaten. Fried rice was also just so so. Service was okay.

Diner Review №70

I live in the South Bay but I love coming up here for Thai food. It's better than any of the nearby options. Their pad kee mao is wonderfully spicy and their soups are also really good. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes.

Diner Review №71

Drunken noodles with tofu was fire! Tastes even better with chiles & fish sauce.

Diner Review №72

Delicious foods! Seats seemed to be too intensive though.

Diner Review №73

Diner Review №80

Diner Review №81

Incredibly rude treatment. We were told we would get a seat an then 2 minutes later the woman literally took our menus off our table and told us take-out only.

Diner Review №82

High energy and great food. Had the Basil Chicken. Was perfect serving size and heat level. I highly suggest giving them a try. There can be a wait, but it's worth it.

Diner Review №83

Diner Review №84

This place is a gem!!
I love their Pad Se Ew
And Pad Thai!

Diner Review №85

Diner Review №86

So so good, quite sad I don’t go to Berkeley

Diner Review №87

I went there for lunch on a weekday in the summer. We got seated right away. I ordered ginger chicken. It was good. Nothing special. Good portion size.

Diner Review №88

Came here at noon but there was a waitlist, so I decided to come back after work which turned out to be a great idea. Got duck on the rice and it came fast. Portion is a bit small, duck is flavorful though.

Diner Review №89

Diner Review №90

Yummy Thai food with outdoor and indoor seating options! Parking can be hard to find around here, but the food is definitely worth it. If you are here, and are a fan of chili oils or hot sauces, I'd recommend grabbing a can of their chili sauce while you are here.

Diner Review №91

It's my first time getting Thai food here. I ended up ordering to go duck noodle. The noodle is like Thai street food in Thailand, but the soup is kinda salty. If you're looking for the worst customer service at a Thai restaurant, you can find it here. The restaurant is overrated and overcrowded. I recommend you get a Thai food in San Francisco with way better service and quality.

Diner Review №92

Lunch service is quick and the food is always fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the pumpkin curry!

Diner Review №93

This is the best Thai food I have had in quite some time.
The green curry is one of my favorites, along with Pad Kee Mao for those who favor spice. Their Thai iced coffee is a good complement to the noodles or curry.

Diner Review №94

Best restaurant in downtown Berkeley. Can’t beat the price to quality ratio. Even when my girlfriend and I plan to get dinner at another place, we sometimes change our minds and end up back at imm

Diner Review №95

Diner Review №96

Pad Se Ew was awesome. Tasty food and reasonably priced.

Diner Review №97

Best Thai food ever!

Diner Review №98

Great food.
We had drunken noodles and yellow curry in main course and papaya salad in appetizers.
Drunken noodles and yellow curry were superb.
It felt like they were simple yet flavorful. Felt more closure to authentic thai cuisines.
There was waiting for seating and felt is little congested because of demand i think.

Diner Review №99

No complaints, I always get the Su Kho Thai and they delivered as usual.

Diner Review №100

Diner Review №101

I ordered Yellow Curry taste was good. Service was also good they were fast and explained dishes very well. The only inconvenience is waiting time is more than 20 mins.

Diner Review №102

Ordered: Thai iced tea, roti w/ yellow curry dip, and spicy fried rice (tofu, Thai hot). Arrived at non-peak hours (1130) and received very prompt and friendly service.

Everything exceptional and fairly priced. Solid portions but probably could've kept eating. Somewhat humorously, they warned me that I couldn't get a refund if my food was too spicy. It, in fact, was one or two notches below what 'Thai hot' normally means in the Bay Area but still adequately spicy.

The tofu was nicely fried and crispy. While someone in the kitchen is apparently against the idea of cutting bell peppers into bite-sized pieces, I ate every last bit on my plate.

I ordered the roti curry dip because, while I was in the mood for fried rice, I needed to know if the curry was good before deciding on whether I'd return. Very deep and midly spiced flavor. I ended up dumping the leftover curry on my rice which I high recommend.

In this finite existence we call life, it is never a good idea to let quality curry go to waste. Otherwise, what are we doing here? What's this all been for?

I thought the Thai iced tea was a little watered down, but that's my only mild issue. I think I'll return.

Diner Review №103

Diner Review №104

Amazing, authentic Thai food! Cantaloupe recommend it enough

Diner Review №105

Klasse Essen nette Bedienung. Mehr geht nicht.

Diner Review №106

Best Thai food in berkeley! One of the few places that does green curry well. The mango sticky rice here is exceptional. I recommend the roti. Portion sizes are smaller than ideal, I often have to order at least an appetiser to feel full.

Diner Review №107

So good!!! You should try it, especially the Strawberry Macha Tea.

Diner Review №108

Recommend pumpkin curry and ginger chicken

I also really like the wonton pad Thai though as the wonton bits get soggier, it gets way too salty towards the end. First 3/4 were 10/10 then it was too salty and I couldn't finish it, and I like strong flavors

Diner Review №109

Service is quick, no nonsense, no smile.
Food arrived very quick, was barely warm. Flavor good.

Diner Review №110

Diner Review №111

Diner Review №112

I’m quite selective about Thai and this place is my favorite in the area. Unfortunately the wait times are not only long but horribly inaccurate. There’s also a consistency issue - especially in very busy nights. The food is generally better when it’s not so busy. Tue spicy level can be too high as well so it’s better to err on the side of caution and order mild as the medium is quite spicy by most standards.

Latest: try the noodles but it is so-so

the pumpkin curry is a delicious blend of savory and sweet flavors, with tender chunks of pumpkin cooked in a rich and fragrant curry sauce. A good try.

Second visit: I order green curry and the food is still good. But the service is bad and a long wait for food. The restaurant is crowded and only one server. 5Star --> 4Star

Diner Review №121

Diner Review №122

A small, perfect Thai restaurant in Berkeley. One of my favorites in SF&Bay. Good vegetarian options and the college energy makes this noice.

Diner Review №123

Best Thai food in town!!!
My favorite place for Pad Kee Mao!
They also have the best Thai Ice tea!

Diner Review №124

Fantastic food. Friendly staff. Quick service.

Diner Review №125

Tried the Kao Moo Dang, Kui Gai, and beef noodle soup. Kui Gai (5/5) - Noodles cooked nicely, light, sweet sauce. A taste you'd find in Thailand. Dish does have a lack of depth, better shared. Koa Moo Dang (3/5) is like a deconstructed Char Sui pork over rice. Pork was thinly sliced and a bit dry. Beef Noodle Soup (4/5) was sweet and savory, beef cuts were a big clunky, overall tasty.

Diner Review №126

Really good food, just a little cramped.

Diner Review №127

Generous portions of food, packed with flavor!
We got these dishes with spring rolls and shared it all
1. Sweet chicken on rice - crispy sweet & spicy chicken came with rice, loved it
2. Pad Thai
3. Duck noodle soup

Delicious and packaged very well.

Diner Review №128

Surprised with the options we were presented knowing we did not want any fish sauce or eggs in our food. They catered our food well and it was quite delicious!
Basil tofu, yellow curry, fried tofu and papaya salad were all amazing.

Diner Review №129

Diner Review №130

Love this restaurant! Very authentic taste and lots of variety of dishes to choose from. The restaurant itself is a little small, but this adds to the "street food" vibe that they have going on. However wait times can be long depending on when you arrive.

Diner Review №131

Fantastic and fresh Thai food! The fresh rolls are divine:)

Diner Review №132

Reasonable price and delicious food. Almost all things on the menu are good

Diner Review №133

Some of the best thai food I have tried!

Diner Review №134

Diner Review №135

The lady was so incredibly rude when seating us. They said estimated wait time of 20 minutes and we waited over an hour!! 🫤 They don’t let you put your name down beforehand either so you have to stand there the entire time.

Everything my friends got looked and smelled really delicious, and they were all very happy with their food.

Diner Review №149

Every time I’ve gone in person I’ve loved the food! Pad Thai, pad see ew, fried rice, Thai iced tea, mango sticky rice, and chicken satay are all wonderful.

I did get take out pad Thai once and I will never do that again. The chicken tasted like it was microwaved. Did not enjoy it at all

Diner Review №156

Imm Thai is phenomenal, the Tom kha is tangy and creamy but not too heavy, and the pad see ew has good char and flavor but not too greasy. Definitely one of my favorite Thai places in the bay. Use the waitlist because it gets busy

Diner Review №157

Oh well never again

Diner Review №161

Pad Kee Mao is the best Thai dish I have ever had.

Diner Review №162

Delicious and flavorful. The noodle soups are warming and satisfying and the portions are generous. Lots of options and spice levels for all. My only regret is not being able to try more of the dishes!!

Diner Review №163

Ordered the Yen Ta Foh without wonton chips and finished every last drop. Very tasty, though a bit on the sweet side.

Diner Review №164

Diner Review №166

Diner Review №167

I had a great experience at Imm Thai Street Food, a cozy and authentic Thai restaurant in downtown Berkeley. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious and flavorful. I ordered the pad thai, sukhothai noodles , and the bbq pork, and I enjoyed all of them. The pad thai was sweet and tangy, with crunchy peanuts and fresh bean sprouts. The green curry was creamy and spicy, with tender chicken and bamboo shoots. The tom yum soup was sour and refreshing, with lemongrass and mushrooms. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable.
I would definitely recommend Imm Thai Street Food to anyone who loves Thai food or wants to try something new and different. It is a great place to enjoy a satisfying meal with your friends or family.

Diner Review №168

Beyond delicious and reasonably priced. Hard to find places open on Mondays, much less such delicious ones! Had the Kana Moo Krob and spicy fried rice—both superb.

Diner Review №178

Food portion was a little small, BUT, IT WAS DELICIOUS. Definitely added to my favorites,

Diner Review №179

Delicious Pad Thai. Tons of flavor, great quality. Would go back and order again.

Diner Review №180

Excellent the food was delicious. I love it.

Diner Review №181

Overpriced for what it was. I had higher expectations based on the reviews and expected it to be more reasonably priced considering it said it was a spot for college students. Wasn't quite worth it for me.

Diner Review №182

Diner Review №183

Pad see euw and pad Thai were delicious and served piping hot.

Diner Review №184

Had a great time at Imm Thai! Got the pad ke mao with tofu (requested vegan) and spicy. Although I think it could have been spicier, it was still a very delicious meal and filling. Price was reasonable as well, considering some Berkeley spots overcharge because of the student population. Will definitely return!

Diner Review №185

Food are good.
Mangos are slightly sour.

Diner Review №186

The pad kee mao was very bad. The ingredients were fresh, but it did not taste the way pad kee mao should or usually would taste - it basically tasted like straight up vinegar and nothing else. I couldn’t eat it.
My friend had the stir fried pork belly and loved it.

Diner Review №187

Diner Review №192

I had pretty much given up an Thai food in the Bay Area but the MIL wanted their Sweet Chicken so we went over and got what turned out to be very respectable pad Thai, drunken noodles and green curry. I especially liked the pad Thai, which seems to be made from fresh rice noodles and has a nice chew in addition to a punchy, redder-than-typical sauce, which I assume means they use ketchup- a very authentic touch not normally seen around here.

Diner Review №193

Cute little Thai food spot in Berkeley

Diner Review №194

ordered for takeout and found this in my food

Diner Review №195

We went for lunch on Sunday and the place was packed at 2:30 pm. The wait process was streamlined. We checked in and we received a message when a table was available.

The food was delicious 🤤
We tried the chicken satay - 8/10
The peanut dip was sweet and the chicken was slightly dry
Spicy fried rice with chicken - 10/10
Delicious and !
Green curry with veggies - 9/10
The flavor and taste were on point!
They gave several pieces of eggplant instead of a variety of vegetables 😂
Mango with sticky rice - 10/10
one of the best I’ve had! Great portion size as well.
The staff were courteous and the service was fast and excellent! We will be frequenting this restaurant! Definitely recommend to try this restaurant

Ordered the following
Was spicy and very flavorful
Veggie pad kee mao - 5/5
Wouldn’t call it your traditional Thai pad kee mao, but had some spice to it
Thai green curry - 4.5/5
Tom kha and Tom yum - 3/5
Taste was there in the soup, but they both had very big pieces of mushroom

Diner Review №200

Simply superb! Loved the food, taste, quality and quantity ! Surely going to come here again!
