***Tuesday is plant base day.
They do serve some protein on the dishes ( egg base )
All other days are regular meat days
I been coming here since they open. The food is clean and made to order. Some of the dishes sale out by the end of the day.
They have dine in and takeaway.
Spicy eggplant is the best.
Legit thai food in Altadena. Their khao soi was one of the best I've ever had in LA. They nailed all the flavors and ingredients. The portion was pretty filling too.
Customer service could use some work. We walked in and no one at the counter acknowledged us for a while. Not the most friendliest establishment
The space is TINY. 3 small tables and a long table inside, and 2 medium tables outside.
Cute neighborhood restaurant!! The menu consists of traditional Thai dishes. Orders are placed at the counter. A number is given to you to place on your table of choice. The place is small but cozy.
Really enjoyed all the dishes ordered. Got papaya salad, pad siew, and stir-fried veggies. Dishes were seasoned well!! The spice level is quite mild for my taste. You can always add more chili with the condiments provided. Ingredients were fresh and tasted like thai grandma's cooking. It's definitely a repeat spot for me.
A nice Thai restaurant that is very easy to miss! The food is not very authentic but they’re delicious. I love that they do a lot of great veggies menu. The vibe is “retro Thai” I’d say which is not common to find anymore. The server was very friendly! A nice place to stop by for quick lunch.
I loved Miya so much. It’s a humble space with a lot of character and the love that went into it is apparent. The menu options are fairly vast, with most of the Thai staples you may already know. I got the pad kee mow (“Drunken noodles”) and it was a great size and tasted delicious. The staff was very sweet and accommodating, and made it feel like a nice family owned restaurant experience. I absolutely want to come back to try more and different dishes.
If you’re craving good Thai food, this spot delivers on flavor. The dishes are well-prepared, and the quality of the food is impressive. However, be mindful of the small storefront — it’s not ideal for dining in, especially for groups larger than four. The indoor space is cozy, seating only about 14 people, with one additional table outside.
Street parking is available, which makes picking up takeout convenient, and that’s likely your best option here. Overall, great food, but better enjoyed at home!
Fantastic, authentic Thai restaurant with a trendy yet comfortable interior. The Tom Kha and Khao Soi were favorites of the night, but I’m confident anything on the menu will be delicious. Interior is small, but cozy. Might need to wait a small bit for a table, but that wasn’t a problem. Excited to come back!
i love this place so much. i hope you guys take care and come back <3
Best Thai in LA is hiding out in Altadena at Miya 💫
Ever since I found out about this place in the summer I was going every other week for the fried chicken. My heart sunk when I found out it got burnt. great place, friendly staff, god willing they rebuild one day 🙏❤️
This place was such a highlight of Altadena for me, I hope to see you rebuild. 💔
We spent just under $100 on a meal that had a lot of serious issues…
First, they told us to wait for the rice when they served our food, and we politely waited until the meal was cold until we went to the counter and were told there would not be any rice. They overcooked all their batches and there was no rice to serve. No white rice, sticky rice, or fried rice.
They served us curry without bowls or spoons. I had to ask three times for spoons. The second time they handed me one spoon and one fork! They were walking around to the table apologizing that they had no spoons. Our meal was already cold and wasn’t tasting great so we weren’t enjoying the shenanigans.
Because they had no bowls or rice, we scooped the curry onto our plates, which was a new experience for us. As we scooped the curry from its serving dish, out plopped a soup spoon which had sunk to the bottom of the curry. I was surprised that they lost a spoon in a dish and sent it out anyway.
The waitress asked if she could get me a soda, and said “I know, I’m sorry, this is really bad”. I don’t drink soda. I just wanted a hot meal.
This meal was surprisingly expensive. They also didn’t stock their condiments. We also asked the food to be made spicy and with the exception of the green curry had no spice … even dishes like pad kee mao which is traditionally cooked with chiles.
Not going back!
We Ordered two food items and 1 drink at 6:03pm
We didn’t receive my thai ice tea till 6:47pm after we asked numerous times and got ignored and only my husband’s food came out at 6:55pm.I was sitting there till 7:10 and they kept saying it’s coming out soon while the other tables sat down half an hour after us and got their food before me. Absolute worst service, didn’t even offer a refund until i went up and complained. They should only do TO GO because they definitely cannot handle
both DINE IN and TO GO!
Excellent Thai food. Amazing curries.
The food is amazingly authentic and delicious.
Great authentic Thai food in Altadena with fantastic interior design and vibes! Staff is super friendly and attentive, although a bit understaffed which could lead to longer wait times. I’m sure as they improve their operations this will get better. Nevertheless, this is some of the best Thai food I’ve had anywhere! Looking forward to becoming a regular here!
Perfect
My favorite Thai food place in Altadena/Pasadena! Shrimp and chicken Pad Thai is my go-to, with the savory pork and shrimp rolls and papaya salad that is always so crisp and perfectly spiced.
This place is amazing. Food is unreal. Great Thai experience. It’s small and sometimes a bit crowded so order takeout or try and grab one of their tables.

bruh
Some of the best Thai food!
Great hole in the wall type feel akin to what would be in Thailand (but air conditioner and cleanliness to US standards) and food with excellent deep flavor. Love it.

Stumbled in on plant based Tuesday, they knocked it out of the park with their pumpkin red curry. Service is top notch. Everyone there is so kind, you can tell they're passionate about food from the quality of each dish.
Delicious! Casual, attentive service. Limited outside seating. Two rooms inside- one of them is a bit loud, but that could change once they become more established and add to the “decor.”
So so happy to get Thai food like I was in Thailand and that they are a mile from my house ! They are also so lovely every time . Love the small, neighborhood , no frills , just perfect , intimate , great food great service . So happy to support small business like this !
I have been having Thai food for most of my life. Or since the late 80s when I went to high school at a school that was nearly half Thai.
A friend who lives near strongly - and I mean repeatedly - suggested we try it while house sitting for him this weekend. He’s always given the best advice and this was no different.
The flavors here transported us to a family dining table, and to Thailand itself. Smoky. Vibrant. Tender. Subtle. Shocking. Addictive. All words that rushed to mind, and most of them from the scent alone.
We liked it so much we might need to move to this part of town. And have committed to going to Thailand soon.
We got the Crab Fried Rice, which was a less crab forward and greasy version of a favorite of ours. The Panang Beef was what really got me swooning. It’s been awhile but it reminded me of a blend of flavors from Panang and Masaman dishes I’d had in the past just so so much more complex. I don’t know what they’re doing back there in that kitchen but I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu over time.
If you’re in the neighborhood I’ll house sit anytime! 😅
Note: we didn’t dine in so cannot comment on service, but the space itself was as tasteful as the food was taste full!

Love their vegetarian food!!
I’ve speaking highly of this place to others because I love their summer rolls but today was a disappointment. I was really looking forward to their summer roll just to find out they were out of tofu and didn’t have the decency to tell us until I took a bite of my food. Plus they didn’t even give us a refund or provided any suggestion or offer. I’m really pissed because my fiancé had to walk back to talk to them just to get a rejection. Even Starbucks updates their costumer on the app when something is out. Like it’s your responsibility to notify the costumer on the app or at least when they pick it up. Like TF. I would had ordered from sticky rice if I knew they were out. I live few minutes from this restaurant and now I won’t be ordering from this place.
ואוווווווו. איזו פנינה נדירה. האוכל מעולה! השירות נפלא. העיצוב והאווירה- הכל היה פשוט מושלם.
Mega good. Home cooking. Authentic flaverrs. Try the fried chicken!
Where should I begin.
For the buck NO.
Authenticity NO.
Spice level NO. (when we asked for spicy).
Flavor NO.
Portion size NO.
Padthai- decent.
The end.
We love their food and vibe, even the plates and all the decor are all well thought out, carefully curated. Their food is generally good, we tried Thai fried rice (full of flavor), Som Tam (delicious and I like that they added carrots and Thai eggplants, but not savory enough for my liking), Rad Na (love how they scorched the noodle to the point the edges of the noodles were crispy); Pad Thai (when they were very new it was more savory but now it’s rather sweet. We prefer it less sweet but I like the chives and chewy noodles. I liked it better with crispy pork bits—more unique that way too). Thai tea was good. Not too sweet, strong flavor.
Service is decent but this place is pretty small and can get very busy so I think their level of service is reasonable. It’s hard to tend to people when there’s a lot going on.
Overall very clean and we love what they did to represent Thai culture and yet add their own twist here and there.
The only thing that really disappointed us was the automatic service charge of 18% that’s not up front. With how busy it can get, it’s hard to pay attention to what’s going on. We didn’t notice the service charge and added tip as usual when the tip screen came on. We asked for the receipt later and realized there was a service charge and we paid “additional tip.”
For transparency, it should be clearly visible, front and center on their menu and the screen or even mention it verbally when you order.

Love the food and service!
Amazing gem in Altadena! Miya is a super lowkey and cozy dinner spot that serves up some of the best thai food in the area. Not only is the menu simple, the dishes are unique and perfectly executed. You will find a balance of popular thai dishes and rotating and seasonal specials. The order and sit down style operation makes the dining experience easy and quick. My favorite dish was the pad see ew and the crispy pork, you can’t go wrong with anything. Great for family-style and sharing. Can’t wait to come back :)
Not sure what you’re doing if you’re not eating here. Cute spot, fresh & delicious, friendly neighborly staff, local family run joint, amazing menu options. They do a meat free Tuesday which we LOVE to see. Will definitely be back.
I loved Miya so much. It’s a humble space with a lot of character and the love that went into it is apparent. The menu options are fairly vast, with most of the Thai staples you may already know. I was hopeful for this place but service and the takeout process was not great. Don’t get me wrong the food is pretty good.
We placed our togo order at 7:25P and it said it’d be ready at 7:50. We show up at that time and they said 5-10 min which was fine it was really busy that night. Didn’t get our food closer to 8:05P and our food was sitting there. It seemed like she didn’t see it and was busy helping others. They also forgot one of our entrees and we had to go back and ask for it. Didnt really seem apologetic so don’t think we’ll go back :(
Best Thai food on this side of town.
They have a separate lunch and dinner menu. Lucky for us, we actually came at the right time when they were changing to their dinner menu which had a lot more options.
They have traditional Thai stir fried noodle dishes and curries, as well as other hidden gems like khao soi and crispy pork belly (which I ended up getting and highly recommend). Perfect blend of salty, sweet, spicy and sour.
No alcohol, but they do have a variety of drinks/sodas.
Order at the register and then grab a table. There’s a cart on the side that has all the condiments and to go containers which I thought was thoughtful.
Plenty of street parking. Read the signs for exact time limits.
Overall, I would come back here (and only here) for all of my Thai cravings.
Surprisingly great Thai food in Altadena! Strong flavors and good portions. Small place but doesn’t feel cramped, nice decorations add to the ambiance. ..Definitely coming back
I dream about eating lunch at Miya. And when I’m finally sitting down eating, and enjoying my food. I’m still dreaming about eating MORE Miya. This place is just that good.
Outstanding Thai food. Small, comfortable indoor dining area. Can't beat it.
Such great food and friendly atmosphere!
We recently moved nearby and Miya has quickly become a weekly treat. The Khao Soi is absolute perfection: flavorful broth, very tender chicken, fresh and chewy noodles. Everything I’ve tried so far has been great. The sausage, the papaya salad, drunken noodles, and spring rolls are also a favorite.
One of the best Thai food spots in Pasadena/Altadena- and that’s quite an achievement given the competition. Miya sets themselves apart with a well crafted menu, cozy and uniquely decorated space, and neatest of all, every Tuesday they have an all vegetarian menu with some unforgettable choices. Honestly worth checking out before the place inevitably becomes famous and the line for a table always out the door! Also huge shout out to the staff who took the time to walk us through the menu, explain how the restaurant dining choices worked, and generally went above and beyond to make the experience match the quality of the food!
Food , service are excellent and the ambience is fun in that it is authentic. The panang beef is the best that I've had on either coast. Food was s I good that we forgot to take photos.
Non-advertised 18% service fee on a to-go order of bland food. And they have the nerve to ask for an additional tip.
Yeah I had dinner there with a friend last night and regret it.
1. They don't offer mild curry, others do why not here?
2. They don't offer brown rice, other places do why not here?
3. The customer service was meh, like they could care less that I/we were there.
4. They charged me a 7.50$ service fee on top of my order and tax? Why? They didn't even "serve me." It should say sitting fee, and it should be posted where diners can see it before we get through the entire ordering process. I asked the girl what's this fee and she looked at the ground and couldn't answer, I'm thinking what's going on here? She then said it was to dine in.. I would have walked out then but I had already paid.
5. The food was alright.. it wasn't dynamite, and at the end of the meal I had no idea how to get a box for my order. We figured it out but after all that I'm not spending another dime here.
Good food but confusing and lackluster service model. They charge upfront right after ordering and ask for a tip on the checkout computer, and hide the fact that they already put on an 18% service fee so I accidentally ended up tipping like 40%. Then the table service is minimal, they bring your food but you have to get your own silverware and napkins which is confusing and unclear; they come by to refill your water but it is not possible to make any further hospitality requests like a to go box.
The food is good and the sticker price is ok, but ends up costing a lot for dine in with a lackluster service.
I might try getting take out if I can avoid the service fees and just pay sticker price. If not then I won’t eat here again.
excellent thai food. very tiny.
I had the cashew chicken stir fry/rice and it was excellent. I will definitely be back. Thank you for coming to Altadena.
Love Miya Thai. The beef Panang and yellow chicken curry will send you to heaven. I’ve barely tried the rest of their menu because it might not be as good.
It feels very much like Thai soul food, like a gang of grandmothers made it, makes ya feel warm & fuzzy inside.
The quality of ingredients is great, my body doesn’t feel awful so that’s a great sign.
Mango sticky rice 🥭 🍙 is a must try
Amazingly good Thai food. So glad to have them in the neighborhood. Can’t stop ordering from them. Honestly, the fried chicken and the eggplant are just sooo good.
I ordered the basil chicken, red pumpkin curry, pad thai, glass noodle veggies, and mango sticky rice and it was all absolutely fantastic!
The restaurant is small but there is enough indoor seating for probably 8-10 people, and there are also a couple tables outside. There's some really cool art on the walls, and the overall vibe was really chill.
This is my new favorite Thai place for sure.
Super delish and authentic thai food
Delicious! Ordered pad siew, Tom kha, and mango sticky rice. Everything was exceptional! Dine in area is small, but cutely decorated.
Good tasting food I just don’t know why they only open 5 hours a day 🤦🏻♂️
Miya is the best Thai food I have found in Los Angeles so far and I’ve lived here my whole life. Their Khao Soi is a favorite, the fried chicken is unreal and their mango sticky rice is a must when it’s in season.
this was first time at this place. Large chunks of fat in the chicken curry mixed with chicken skins. The slimmy content felt like a slap on the face for no tip. We did not tip because we did not dine in and it was so expensive, 51 dollars was not a fair price for two dishes. The fatty chunks and chicken skins felt like it was straight from the food trash bin, if they were not mixed in to this purchase, we would not write a review at all.
small cozy place. died & went to heaven after eating their drunken noodles. extremely flavorful, fresh & absolutely delish
update: came again & had the chicken Holy Basil It truly was bursting with flavor & so so delicious.I was hesitant about the chicken being ground but im happy i ordered it.......It was a Holy dining experience 🙏 🫶🫶😋😋❤️
Everything is always delicious. Only regret was I didn’t get mango sticky rice.
Pad kee mao was great. But the Tom Ka soup really blew us away.
I love everything about this restaurant, especially plant-based Tuesdays (non-plant-based food here is also SUPERB, the spicy dishes are ❤️) and I truly appreciate the energy of everyone who works here. I moved to the neighborhood around the same time they had their soft opening, and I’ve been back for a dish or two almost every week! I feel embarrassed to come back more often haha. I think about their dishes with holy Thai basil a lot. I truly cannot recommend this spot enough, so come check it out and you might get hooked too!
Delicious drunken noodles and thai fried chicken.
Amazing. All of it. Get the mango sticky rice or you will regret your life choices!
happy to have them on this side of town!
The food is amazing and the service was prompt, but the place was very busy which made the noise level a little difficult so I am glad I was getting carry out.
Lovely place and lovely food!
So happy a thai restaurant opened in Altadena. Food was gourmet and atmosphere is super chill and cozy. A+
So yummy! ☺️ Stopped by for dining in and realized the menu was plant-based on Tuesday evenings.. The dishes were very tasty!
Great food. We got takeout. The ordering and pickup was easy as was parking. Food was great!
As always the best Thai food in town.
We ordered chicken pad Thai, yellow chicken curry. Papaya salad and 2 Thai ice teas. Total for pick up was $62!!
The pad thai was disappointing. Tamarind was very forward and the dish was tart. The chicken was tough and overcooked and they used thin vermicelli like noodles that were congealed in clumps, not traditional pad thai rice noodles. No cilantro, a tiny smattering of peanut and bean sprouts. The papaya salad was room temperature and not chilled at all. The curry was okay, as was the Thai iced tea. BUT $62 for two people?!
The space they are in was a functioning restaurant for YEARS. They have been opened for 8 months with take out only- no ambiance and cheesy hand written menu on a piece of paper.
No ambiance, not much selection and
mediocre food. I'll spend my money ELSEWHERE!
This is genuinely some of the best Thai food you are going to find in the LA area.
Loved the plant based menu. Ordered a bunch of different items and everything was excellent
Tried this place for the first time a few months ago. Parking was east on the street. It was still only take out. We ordered at the counter and waited about 30min. The food was ok, but too sweet for our taste.
Stopped by on a Tuesday and Tuesdays are plant based only, definitely not a fan of that. When they aren't only offering plant based food it's great.
Shiitake larb is excellent! So nice to have new interesting food in Altadena!
Been here twice. Food inconsistent and first time was better. Pad Thai lame and c'mon really $16 for 2 chicken nuggets. Literally, the Thai fried chicken was 2 boneless chicken nuggets.
We love plant based Tuesdays! Amazing food, and excellent service. Highly recommend Miya!
Good take out for Thai. Get the grub and find a nice park to enjoy the food
Really great! Have tried a few dishes now and pleased with everything I’ve ordered. 10/10 would recommend.
Family owned local Thai restaurant, just as described on Eater Los Angeles and by others on Yelp. Great food excellent selection of dishes to choose from.
I wanted to like this place but I ordered Pad Thai and when I got it home and started eating it, I noticed besides chicken it had a little shrimp in it and also little pieces of pork. I wish they would’ve let me known that when I ordered it also, it was very dry.
My friends ordered a bunch of entrees for a group dinner and EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD. I usually just get tofu pad see yew and call it a day but the red and yellow curries 😛 the spring rolls?! 🥲 the everything was so sooo good!
Grateful we have another food option
No more travelling to Pasadena for Thai food.
I've tried the Pad Si Ew, with Beef, Pad Thai with Chicken, Crab Rolls, Tom Yum with Shrimp& Chicken Fried Rice & Mango Sticky Rice ~ Delicious. Generous portions.I've been surprised 2 find tomatoes in some of the dishes. There is a 20 to 25 minute wait. Not sure when inside dining will occur. I need to ask if beverages are available.
Parking behind the building
Give them a try.
Finally an authentic Thai restaurant and in our neighborhood!! Spent time in Thailand and this place is the real deal. Depending on the menu that changes weekly, they also feature northern dishes like Khao Soi which few places serve in LA not to mention a real Thai style Pad Thai (not that sweet orange Americanized version you get in most Thai restaurants out here). Love everything we have tried so far and so thankful Miya is in Altadena!!!
Best Thai food around, such a welcome addition to Altadena.
Food was fresh and great
Great experience from this little take-out restaurant. Food was delicious and fresh -Check for the daily menu online. We will definitely be back and hope they have mango sticky rice then.
So good! Great level of heat. Basil Eggplant was perfect 😋 And the green curry was so yummy!
Really flavorful new resto in the neighborhood. The basil chicken was spicy and authentic. The morning glory knocked our socks off - so delicious! Looking forward to trying more items on the menu.
So fresh and super tasty, excellent customer service
All of the food was great! Pad Thai, basil chicken, yellow chicken curry. Basil chicken had the perfect amount of heat.
Great food. Two visits, both consistently top notch. Pad si ew and Yellow Curry were both amazing! Highly recommend!
Very good food, and reasonable prices. This is a great addition to the neighborhood! Right now it's walk up orders and take out only. I ordered at around 6pm on a Friday and it was around 40 minutes for the food to be ready.
Pad siew beef - very classic and good.
Eggplant basil - vegetarian dish with eggplant, bell peppers, onions. The eggplant was very flavorful.
Basil chicken - also very good with a little heat. Reminded me of ordering this at Sticky Rice (their other restaurant).
Green curry - nice tender beef and Thai eggplant, and the curry was super flavorful with mild heat. I wished for more variety of veggies - maybe some bamboo shoots, bell peppers, etc. but that's just personal preference, the dish didn't need it.
Everything is priced at $15 and the non-noodle dishes come with rice - no upcharge.
I will definitely be back, and look forward to dining in.
Pad Siew was incredible. I cannot wait until they have a full menu!
Went on Friday, the day after they opened. They ran out by 6:30. Went back the next day. It's still take out only. No online or phone orders. We were first in line at 3:45. Got pad thai, pad siew, green curry & basil chicken. They forgot to give us the basil chicken, but apologized profusely & gave us a Thai tea. The food was delicious. Everything tasted like authentic warm, comforting Thai home cooking. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely delicious! Looks like they are having a soft open with just take out only right now, and they only accept cash or Venmo. Super good food though. We got the Pad Thai, Basil Chicken (ground chicken with bell peppers and onion) and yellow curry. All phenomenal.
Came here last night after reading they had finally opened on Eater. The food was excellent! We had the basil chicken and the green curry and they were both delicious. They’re not fully open yet and they definitely got overwhelmed by the turn out but my food was ready in about 30-40 minutes. They also ran out of food by the time I came back to pick up my order but I’m sure once they’re fully opened that won’t be an issue.
