Diner Review №1

Best Thai restaurant in Little Rock. Had the Pad Thai and Mango dessert and can't wait to try all the rest of the entrees. Very kitschy atmosphere with little tidbits about Thailand everywhere.

Diner Review №2

Food is great. Just wish you were open with some consistency like a real business with known hours.

Diner Review №3

Very good fresh food. Green curry delicious

Diner Review №4

Diner Review №5

Some of the best, authentic Thai food in LR.

Diner Review №7

I never got to try the food because the women at the register was so rude and unprofessional. I order my food by phone and I came in to pick it up. I began to pay and she started explaining that it would be extra to pay by card. I couldn’t hear her so I said what did you say. She began to raise her voice at me and say that it was extra to pay with a card. So I told that I was in front of her and that there was no need to yell. She never apologized and just stared at me so I told her she could keep the order and I left.

Diner Review №8

Freshly prepared papaya salad, perfectly spiced and most flavorful I've had.

Diner Review №9

It's just so dang good.

Diner Review №10

Otherworldly cuisine. Authentic taste. Excellent service. Have to try it to believe it.

Diner Review №11

Diner Review №12

No not worth the money. It was gluten free but not worth the money. I only get limited options for gluten free and I was disappointed.

Diner Review №13

Diner Review №14

My favorite spot in LR. The food is always awesome, even when it's takeout only.

Diner Review №15

Probably the best restaurant in Little Rock. Food is always amazing and the service is unparalleled.

Food was great .... College dorm style atmosphere....

Diner Review №20

Diner Review №21

They have the best Pad Thai in town. And the papaya salad is super craveable.

Diner Review №22

The menu is simple, but the flavors are complex and explosive. Go early in the day because they WILL sell out! Give your mouth a treat, eat at this hole in the wall

Diner Review №23

Best hole in the wall in town!

Diner Review №24

Diner Review №25

Some of the best Thai food I have had outside of Thailand!! Well done. Only thing I would suggest is to have some Thai music on instead of what I think was american blues. Haha.

Diner Review №26

Absolutely exquisite!! Began and Vegetarian options!

Diner Review №27

Diner Review №28

I love this place. You best visit early or you will miss out. Parking can be tricky. I believe it’s the most authentic Asian themed dishes in LittleRock.

Diner Review №29

Diner Review №30

Food is amazing. Only thing to keep in mind is this is a small restaurant with a small kitchen, so if they are busy it might be a minute for your food. Will definitely be back for more. Try to arrive before 11:30 for lunch to guarantee you get served, because there is a limited amount.

Diner Review №31

Fantastic authentic Thai, but go early before the sell out

Diner Review №32

Diner Review №33

Best curry I've ever had.

Diner Review №34

Portion sizes are terrible on Thursday night. If you order for 2, they will give you serving size for 1. Waste of 40 dollars on Thursday night. Overcooked sticky rice that was so hard, had to soak it in sauce to be edible. Tried the next day for lunch just to double check, and the $12 dollar lunch is acceptable for portion sizes, but ultimately left disappointed. You can make prepackaged green curry for about 1/3rd the price that tastes the same if not better. Wanted to love based on other reviews and seriously craving authentic Asian food, but honestly nothing special. Still a decent Thai place for Little Rock, but a far cry from being a place to recommend. I gave 1 stars because ultimately both times I ate here I ended up leaving disappointed and felt ripped off. It's good enough to try, but not at the premium cost for mediocre food that you can get better from prepackaged curry. They use way too much fish sauce on most of their dishes so keep that in mind. If you're not accustomed to real Thai food you might like it. This is basically a restaurant for people who don't know what real Thai food tastes like. It's good if you don't know what it's supposed to taste like.

Another thing is they "sell out" quick due to not having enough food to cook. They have enough for maybe 20-30 orders. Not sure why they do this, but I can only guess fake scarcity to justify the overpriced dishes. Had a ton of potential, but ultimately falls way short. They wont go out of business with their terrible service of three people in the kitchen and long wait times, simply because their costs are low and their food is overpriced. Sadly disappointed. Might go again if feeling desperate.

Diner Review №36

Simple menu, delicious red curry and pad thai.

Diner Review №37

I have been going to Thailand twice a year since 2006 (Bangkok, Koh Samui, Phuket, Chang Mai, Pattaya, Rating, Samut Songkhram Province, and other places traveling). I lived in Thailand (Bangkok and Samut Songkhram Province) for 6 months plus.

I am not sure you can call this true Thai food. Most of the dishes I have seen do not look like any food in Thailand I have seen before. I am not going to judge. But I KNOW my Thai food. It is by far my favorite food on Earth. Along with my favorite country and people to spend time with away from my overseas work and away from here at home.
Some looks ok. I will have to try them and let you know later.

I just think Restaurants need to be careful claim that they are authentic.

As far as seafood related dishes... 85 to 90% of the time the seafood was alive right before they cooked it for you, in Thailand.

Diner Review №40

Great chill Thai place. Food is awesome and spicy if you want it to be. Definitely recommended.

Diner Review №41

Stopped into KBird for the family style dinner. We had a spiicy mushroom salad that packed some delicious heat. Plus our choice of pork skewers or catfish fritters with pumpkin in an awesome basil sauce. Even though I am not the biggest fan of catfish, the fritters were great! I would have them again anytime.

Delicious red curry, pad thai, and papaya salad

Diner Review №55

If my wife didn't like it so much, I'd probably go with a two star, max. She thought it was a little expensive for what it was, too. $19 for a set menu. You could come for a twelve plate meal on Friday night for $45 or so per person. They don't serve alcohol, but you can bring your own; they have jars you can use. The regulars obviously knew this. The floor was sticky on the way to the bathroom, always off-putting.

We arrived right about 6, they're open 5-8pm Thursdays. We both chose the salmon over the pork. Maybe my tastebuds were off a bit. I didn't think anything was too flavorful. Everything except the soup was served at roughly room temperature. The soup was nicely spicy. The corn and mango (I think) we're okay with a sweet sauce that helped. They'd been cooked quite a while earlier and were chewy. The salmon had a decent sauce that tasted much better the next day. The sweet rice with mango sliced was fine for dessert, just not a wow for me, almost too sweet with the syrup.

I'd like to try again for lunch to see if the pad Thai and papaya salad are as good as people say.

Diner Review №56

Just amazing, one of the best meals I've had in little rock

Diner Review №57

She cheerfully walked me through ordering. The Pad Thai was great.

Diner Review №58

Amazing, authentic, unique

Diner Review №59

Good food, great ambiance, bringing back the slow cook tradition and traditional cooking. Caveat is that feels as it is tailoring to an "Western" niche since the food is kinda bland. You get the hint but the boldness of the Thai seasoning is not there. Still is worth to try it.

Diner Review №60

Best Thai in Arkansas!

Diner Review №61

Diner Review №62

A coworker suggested we eat here. The restaurant is tucked away in a neighborhood, and the food is very authentic. We both had the pad thai with chicken for lunch and it was great!! Also the portion size was large. They only make a few things, so if you need a lot of choices when dining, then this may not be the place for you, but the food is excellent,so you should give them a try!

Diner Review №73

Don't let the appearance of the restaurant fool you. This is the most authentic Thai food in all of North America. The owner spends a month in Thailand every year learning and finding suppliers. Ask questions: the staff is incredibly helpful.

Diner Review №74

It was delicious! I had red curry with chicken and rice. I had them make it spicy level 10.

Diner Review №75

Diner Review №76

My husband and I went here for lunch today, we split the pad thai and a pork dish with herbs and spices served with cabbage and bok choy. The food was excellent, the staff quick and friendly and the restaurant cozy. We will definitely be back next time in Little Rock.

Diner Review №77

Hands down my favorite Thai place! Taste like my Mom's and so I took her there, she LOVED IT! Took my daughter today, she has specific loves & is hesitant....and YES, she loved it. Authentic & true to the Thai cuisine. I love that its not "American-ized" and stays to tradition!!

Diner Review №81

Amazing Thai. Get there early so they don't sell out. Specials change frequently so always something new to try.

Diner Review №82

Went to one of the khantoke - it was a great experience. The owner explained all the northern thai dishes and their origin. Alcoholic drinks were byob. All the food was served family style, so potentially be prepared to make friends with the people sitting next to you. I cant name all the dishes, but highly recommend it, there is something for everyone: fish, poultry, lots of veggies, pork etc. Can't wait to go back.

Went back for another khantoke. Awesome again. Favorite dishes were the whole catfish, curry, and a noodle soup type dish. So many other very good dishes too.

Diner Review №83

Diner Review №84

Awesome and original food! Everything I've eaten there has been wonderful and flavorful! I love the Chicken Pad Thai. You can order it with as much heat as you desire. The Jackfruit with Sticky Coconut Rice is happiness in your mouth! The decor is not fancy by any means but I love going there because it feels like you're eating in a friend's kitchen :)

Diner Review №85

This is some of the most incredible authentic Thai food that I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. If you can manage to get there between few hours they are open for business you will not regret it!! A++

Diner Review №86

The food was amazing. I had the Red Curry with Thai Vegetables. This was a first time visit for my wife and me; it won't be our last. The atmosphere is very quaint and the staff is very pleasant. Can't wait to try another dish.

Diner Review №87

Diner Review №88

Quirky Thai spot in a residential neighborhood; kBird inhabits a house that has been repurposed into a restaurant. Order at the counter, wait until your name is called, and pick up your food; bus your table after you finish. No frills whatsoever, but the food is good and the servings were plentiful. Staff was friendly. Prices very reasonable for the quality.

Worthwhile to call ahead or check the restaurant's Facebook, in case of modifications from standard hours of operation. The premises are pretty run down, both inside and out, and you may be a little nervous of eating there because of it, but our experience was quite positive and we would go again without hesitation.

Diner Review №89

Diner Review №90

Really, really good Thai food. And extremely authentic too! Staff is super friendly, portions are good, and not too pricey either!

Diner Review №91

Awesome food. Great prices

Diner Review №92

Unique place with excellent red curry!

Diner Review №93

Great neighborhood Cafe the chicken pad Thai is very good check on the hours it has inconsistent hours of operation.

Diner Review №111

Very interesting place, taking concept of Asian street food style located in a yellow corner house turned to restaurant, three person team, one woman who accept order, pack the food and mainly on the front and one guy as primary cook. Ordered food to go, which appears to be not the norm..... No utensils, reused bag to carry out and pack the food.... Fried rice with concept of street food style, but sadly the mix inside truly ruin the flavor. Using squash instead, added lemon slices which cause the rice flavor to sour up.... Really not recommended for fried rice. Overall, concept is great. Flavor need to be worked on

Diner Review №112

Diner Review №113

Environment is nice. Food is very salty. Too much fish sauce on their phad Thai. One guy....I guess that's the owner, just stands there to watch his employees work...I wished he would help out, answer the phone or something. If you like extremely salty food then this is the place for you.

Diner Review №114

I can't convey the quality of kBird in a dinky Google review. If you're a fan of Asian food - or food in general, really - just go here when you can. You won't regret it.

Diner Review №115

Diner Review №134

This is a Thai restaurant for people who do not know what real Thai food is supposed to taste like. The food is awful and on unauthentic.

Diner Review №135

Great food. Place smell funny but food good.

Diner Review №136

Khao soi, and a fresh mango. It was delicious!

Diner Review №137

Diner Review №138

Awesome food!!! The menu changes often. Fresh mango on sticky rice covered with coconut milk was an excellent finish to the meal. Way laid back atmosphere. Be there when they open or you'll be waiting! They also do carry out.

Diner Review №139

Probably the best Pad Thai I've had anywhere in the US or Southeast asia to include Thailand. The only downside (which is also the exact reason it's so good) is everything is made to order and prepared daily, this makes the daily menu a bit small and the wait for food pretty long. Its worth the wait!

Diner Review №140

Native Thai here. Not a single Thai in the kitchen but one of the best Thai food in the country. Didn't expect to find this gem in the middle of Arkansas. Not just the food that is awesome, all the decorations in the restaurant mimic the real traditional restaurants in Thailand. Extra points for educating people about chopsticks in Thai culture. Good job!

The Thai food here is so, so good. Very fresh and tasty.

Diner Review №154

Non-descript, looks like a house in the neighborhood, but don't let that deceive you. Once you get close, your nose will take over and fill you with some of the best smells around. Very clean inside, about 6 tables, room for maybe 25 people. They have all the basics, curries, pad Thai, Tom kha gai soup, and green papaya salad. Going to come back this week and I haven't even had my lunch yet.

Diner Review №155

Diner Review №174

Excellent Thai food. Generous on the fish sauce.

Diner Review №175

Superb. You won't find better Thai food outside of Thailand.

Diner Review №176

Although it is definitely a unique dining exp (the location is different, in a residential area) the food is consistently awesome, and the people that work there are consistently friendly! Always bringing new people to kbird to show them how great it is!

Diner Review №177

Good curry and mango sticky rice!

Diner Review №178

We walk here from our house as often as possible. The food is DELICIOUS and the ingredients are fresh. I only wish that they were open on the weekends.

Diner Review №179

Excellent food. One of the Top 3 Thai places I've been to outside of Thailand. Authentic, home-made taste. Legit. Stop thinking about and just go! You will not be disappointed.

Diner Review №180

Decided to walk here for lunch because I had the time and the Pad Thai made to order made the miles worth every step.

Diner Review №181

Simply excellent Thai food -- can't go wrong here!

Diner Review №182

As an asian american and someone that has been to Thailand...the food is not bad at all. It's got the flavor for sure. A little pricey but def good food.

Diner Review №183

Diner Review №184

The food is like they make it in Thailand, making it unique and unabashed, always fresh and delicious, my second favorite Thai place in the USA, and I try all Thai when I travel (#1 is Monsoon, Butler NC)

Diner Review №185

The papaya salad is a religious experience. If you like food, eat here.

Diner Review №186

My wife and I had lunch at kBird today. Neither one of us have been there before. And we really enjoyed kBird. This has to be one of, if not, the best restaurants in town. I ordered the Spicy Pork Pad Phrik King and literally it was perfect. Thank you kBird for your passion.

Diner Review №187

Great food!

Diner Review №188

This is the best Thai in Arkansas, hand down, and the closest to *HOME COOKED, NOT RESTAURANT STYLE* Thai food you can find in the state. The chef, Richard, travels to Thailand all the time. He makes each order by hand, to order, so you may wait a while if they're busy, but every menu item is worth the wait. *Quite vegan friendly as well*, but the whole menu is nothing short of amazing, from every account I've heard, as well as experienced personally. A+++

Diner Review №189

Wonderful thai food cooked to order. Curries are made by hand with a mortar and pestle. Truely authentic.

Diner Review №190

Awesome authentic Thai food. Hand ground spices. Go early as they often run out.

Diner Review №191

Diner Review №192

Best Thai food in Little Rock, hands down.

Diner Review №193

I have been in love with kBird for years now. I use to live a block away... life was easier then, but I still happily drive there at least every other week.
You may ask how much does this guy really love kBird? I had my wedding reception there, that's how much.
The Green Papaya said is always a must, trust me, just get it.
Their Pad Thai and fried rice are excellent but if you really want to get into Richard's awesomeness you need to delve into the soups and curries. So good, so strong in flavor, so subtle in its details, and every bite is interesting.

Diner Review №194

Loved this place, ordered a bit of everything and shared with family. Even the baby loved it.

Diner Review №195

This place is amazing. Don't let the white folk behind the counter fool you. This place makes very authentic Thai food. While eating the Som Tum Papaya Salad I felt I was transported back to Koh Samui, Thailand. K Bird uses the authentic Thai ingredients which separates Thai food from other Asians cuisines. The Fish Ball Green Curry was top shelf delicious!

Diner Review №196

Diner Review №197

Diner Review №198

Diner Review №199

Very small menu. The food looked good, and different from the Thai I've typically had (not in Arkansas). I find it funny that people are saying it's authentic when they've probably never gone to Thailand, and it's all white people inside of there. It's nothing like the Thai food places I eat at where people literally came over from Thailand and don't speak decent english.
They salt all of their dishes with fish juice here at kBird, just be aware. Chicken, vegetable, doesn't matter. If you want them to exclude it, make sure to tell them because they didn't ask me or my friends. They're kind though.

Diner Review №200

Amazing small joint! Never a disappointment!
