Thaifoon optimizes the definition of a hole-in-the-wall gem. The entire interior consists of a small counter that holds maybe three people standing while waiting for their order or to pay. Behind that, in full view, is the magic—a modest kitchen where master Thai cook, Pan, works her craft. Pan is a jovial presence, often chatting and joking with waiting customers while preparing each dish with meticulous care. I even witnessed her tasting sauces (with fresh spoons, of course) to ensure the perfect balance of flavors, just like you’d see in a high-end kitchen.
This no-frills establishment is strictly take-out and cash-only, but that doesn’t deter the loyal crowd outside, many of whom seemed to be longtime regulars. I struck up a conversation with a few folks who eagerly shared their favorite dishes, and one man mentioned how Pan somehow remembers everyone’s name, even a year later—a testament to the strong community she's built. When it’s time for pick-up, someone inside will kindly open the door to let you know your order is ready. It’s a small detail that adds to the overall warmth and familiarity of the place.
As for the food? Thaifoon delivered a solid, flavorful experience. My friend and I were impressed by the generous portions. We ordered the #17 Thaifoon Fried Rice with shrimp and chicken—packed with carrots, peas, seasoned rice, and egg, all stir-fried in a delightful lemongrass and Thai herb broth. The flavors were vibrant, and the dish was thoroughly satisfying. We also tried the #28 Green Curry, simmered in coconut milk with bell peppers, carrots, bamboo shoots, string beans, basil, and zucchini. It was another standout dish, rich and fragrant.
While it may not be the absolute best Thai food I’ve ever had (having sampled it around the world, including Thailand itself), Thaifoon is definitely a solid choice. I will absolutely be back to enjoy Pan’s culinary talents again. A must-visit for Thai food lovers looking for a down-to-earth, flavorful meal in Prescott. NOTE: If you like really spicy food, get more than "Medium," I found this milder than I expected. Sorry, forgot to take photos of the food.
Wow!!! I’m new to town and I use to live in Thailand… I must say this is GENUINE Thai cuisine!! I’m so happy I went in. The ladies, Owner Pan and hostess/waitress, Mia were so welcoming and helpful. The FOOD, I got Drunken Noodles and it was just what I needed, flavorful, lots of good vegetables cooked perfectly and moist chicken!
Don’t hesitate, go! I’m going to have everything on the menu and keep updating with photos!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thaifoon, and let me tell you, it was an experience that left a lasting impression! From the moment I walked in, the owner's passion for her craft was palpable.
The Pho: If you're a pho aficionado, prepare to have your taste buds tickled like never before. The owner crafts this dish from scratch, using custom ingredients imported directly from Thailand. The result? A broth that's rich, flavorful, and unlike anything you'd find at any other spot in Arizona. The balance of spices, the depth of flavor, it was all executed to perfection. It's safe to say, I've found the best pho in the state right here at Thaifoon.
The Indian Curry: Now, if you think Thai is all they excel at, think again. The Indian curry was nothing short of phenomenal. Each spoonful was a testament to the care and pride the owner puts into her food. The blend of spices was intricate yet harmonious, providing a delightful warmth that's comforting and invigorating.
The Owner: What truly elevates Thaifoon is the warmth and dedication of the owner. Her personal touch, from selecting the ingredients to ensuring each dish meets her high standards, is evident in every bite. It's clear she's not just in the business of serving food but in creating memorable culinary experiences.
If you're in Arizona and looking for a place where authenticity, passion, and flavor converge, Thaifoon is your go-to. It's not just a meal; it's an experience that you'll want to relive over and over. Highly recommended for anyone seeking the best pho or looking to explore a unique blend of Thai and Indian flavors. You won't regret it!
First time here and will be coming back. I got the green curry with chicken and the Chiang Mai noodles. The curry was not was I was expecting specifically the container. It was the rice and curry in one instead of in separate containers to prevent sogginess. I would describe the curry more like a sauce or gravy than what I’m used to of a soupier consistency. Still tasted great. The Chiang mai noodles were fantastic and will be trying more dishes. Cash only as others have said but worth the hassle to an ATM.
I was very pleased with what we got, spicy basil noodles and my husband got the pad Thai. Mine was very light as far as taste but the perfect amount of spice. The tofu was a little more tough that I like, maybe that is something I will need to specify in the future. The pad Thai was very saucy but yummy. I love that fat rice noodles! The only downside is cash only because I never have it on me and it's an extra step to get the cash. So it's like a plan ahead thing. Plan on going back to try new dishes!😁
I just love this place. I've had nearly half the menu and each time I'm pleased. Anytime I order from here I feel like I am a guest in Pan's home. As authentic as it gets, and she always remembers that I love extra spice.

Great experience. Vio the great waiter

Wellllll, it definitely wasn’t green curry. I couldn’t eat it. The lady was lovely but the food was very expensive and not good at all.😔

This is the BEST Thai food in town. Pann (the owner and chef) will take wonderful care of you. She is so sweet and makes me feel so happy every time I see her. It is take out only, but soooo amazing. Thank you!
If you're sick, this place will cure you. During my time in Prescott, this place was my primary care provider.

This place ROCKS!!! I have never been there before and now will only go there. She is so nice and friendly and the food is amazing!!!! We had yellow and red curry and both finished our plates because it was so good!! As an FYI... Its a carry-out only and only take cash.
Just the best food around.
Pan is the best!
Everything about this place is perfect. The pad thai is in a creamy peanut sauce, and you don't get anything like it anywhere else. The best Thai in Prescott. Or the United States
I'm absolutely in love with the women in there. She is so kind and loving and her food reflects her love. I appreciate her hard work and how her and food makes me feel better!
This place is the absolute best. The portions are perfect. The quality is fresh and not over done. I never feel sluggish and over fed afterwards. Perfect lunch for me and my co workers that need the energy for the second half of the day without feeling immobilized. I never leave reviews but I would give this place 10 stars if I could.

My understanding from the proprietor – who is very fun to talk to – is that this take-out-only food spot has served Prescott for some 30+ years. Contrary to the name, however, the food did not take us by storm.
If you want to have a fun, jovial back-and-forth with the smart and energetic proprietor, this is a fun stop to make. If you want decent Thai food you will want to look elsewhere.
The soupy, oddly flavored dishes don’t share the consistency, spices, or many of the ingredients of most Thai food I have eaten (and I’ve had Thai food from all around the U.S. for some 40 years now). I suspect these dishes are a very specific creation to Thaifoon. And when I order Pad Thai with shrimp from a to-go place that costs $18, I expect more than a half cup of wide egg noodles, five shrimp, a cup of cabbage, and some baby corn floating in an endless sea of soupy sauce. This wasn’t anything close to any Pad Thai I’ve ever eaten, and the flavors fell short of an enjoyable alternative. My wife’s yellow curry dish was similarly sparse on meat, and mostly a lot of rice and vegetables afloat in an endless curry soup.
Then, what we actually expected to be soup -- Tom Ka Gai – had only a tiny portion of overcooked, very thin chunks of chicken, lacked any of the fish oil, coconut milk, or lime juice flavors we are used to enjoying, and then seemed to compensate for these deficits with an astonishing overabundance of uncooked slices of white onion. (sigh)
This combination of strange inventions cost us over $50, and of course despite it being to-go I also included a generous tip (for the fun conversation!). In essence, if I were deliberately intending to play a practical joke on customers who knew nothing about Thai food, and then charge them dearly for the privilege, this is the sort of restaurant I would run.
That said, Prescott doesn’t offer any decent Thai food that we could find…so this may explain why Thaifoon has been around for 30+ years.
Pan keeps this whole community healthy....the ones smart enough to come to Thaifoon on the regular know. Best peanut sauce in the world and amazing personality under this roof!
We are Prescott Locals and cannot believe this hidden Gem was not on our radar. It is now!! Love the owner the food everything! Amazing authentic food.
5 stars because they wouldn't let me put 6 stars. Most authentic food and the owner/cook has a great personality and sense of humor . Cash only.
The food here is so bad. Made me and my family sick. I will not ever be back.
Definitely not the best Thai food in town. Ordered a peanut noodle dish and pretty much got flat noodles with runny peanut sauce which cost a fortune. Not worth the money. Save your money and go to Dee Thai.
We are SO HAPPY to find this place in our travels. Best authentic Thai food. Owner/chef is so much fun. We loved the Drunken Noodles and the Curry Peanut Sauce Noodles. Considering moving to Prescott so we can eat here all the time. :).
My take-away lunch was $30 with tip - ouch! It was tasty but I cannot speak to how authentic. But $30 for take away pad Thai and soup - ouch.
One of the very few places in Prescott & Prescott Valley where you will always get what you pay for. Costs less than eating at any of the American restaurants downtown, and you get way more. The quality of the food is never disappointing, and it always feels so comforting. It definitely isn't refined, but it makes up for lack of sophistication by feeding your impulse for hearty, rich, guilty-I-ordered-this-for-the-second-time-this-week type food. I'll go here every single time I want a good priced meal to eat while sitting at home watching movies. Perfect occasion. Thanks!
My grandmother is Thai. This is the closest I can get to how my grandmother cooks! I love this place and hope Pan never goes anywhere. Only Thai food restaurant in town that will get my money! :)
After being to 50+ Thai food locations, This place is definitely well below expectations. After ordering Pad Thai, I received flat noodles dipped in sauce! If you're looking for authentic Thai look elsewhere.
Worst “Thai” food I have ever tried. Bad quality & overpriced. Never order the “pho” from here, you will be very disappointed.
The Thai place at the gateway mall is a million times better than this.
Excellent food
My favorite Thai spot in town
Best Thai food I've ever had + Pan is awesome!
This little hole in the wall, never fails to gives me the warm and fuzzys.
Food’s pretty good too.
$16 Pho. I was not happy with the price. I was also very much not a fan of the Pho. It wasn't rice noodles like Pho usually is which is unfortunate because I can't eat gluten. Also when I ordered I was told there would be thin sliced beef like in all other Phos' I've had, but when I got there they said "sorry, there's just steak". Taste was not good. This was low quality Pho. I will not be going here again.
This is the place to be!
Terrible. We ordered Drunken Noodles at level 2 and got a chicken with vegetables over rice with a sauce that was not good at all. The other dish we ordered was supposed to be red curry chicken but barely tasted like red curry and both were put on top of the rice instead of separately boxing them, thus making it mush.
Eat here! It's delicious! I've been going to thaifoon for 20 years. It's my favorite Thai food and I've had Thai food all over our great nation from Coast to Coast. So here's a toast to thaifoon!!
Love this place. Watched her cook my food since the place is very small. The chef was so nice and even let us taste the peanut sauce and also taste the heat of the chili. The food was amazing. She was so attentive to my teenage daughters since one was so shy. It's mostly takeout since it is small. The chef is very personable. Will be back. Fresh homade delicious.
Everything I’ve tried off of her menu is incredible and flavorful. I’ve eaten a lot of Thai in several different cities but thaifoon is just so tasty, filling and comforting. Not many places can beat it. Pan is awesome and so sweet. Be sure to give her your business.
Drunken noodles fresh, herbaceous, and authentic, as is the owner. Like having your mother cook for you, if mom was a cool Thai lady who lives in Prescott. Great little find, in the same plaza as the bottle shop.
Eccentric owner. Eccentric food. The real deal.
This place is amazing!!! I have been going here for 10 years and it is always amazing. Togo only. You gotta try it!!
Rude dirty way too pricey...all bad
I was very pleased with what we got, spicy basil noodles and my husband got the pad Thai. Mine was very light as far as taste but the perfect amount of spice. The tofu was a little more tough that I like, maybe that is something I will need to specify in the future. The pad Thai was very saucy but yummy. I love that fat rice noodles! Best Thai food I’ve had since leaving Phoenix. My food was delicious, vegetables cooked just right, the spice level was also perfection. The Pho wasn’t the best I’ve ever had (I would have preferred more seasoning) but still very good.
This is hands-down the best Asian food in Prescott. Fresh veggies, no MSG and the crazy lady running the place is hilarious and sweet (Medium spicy, don't kill this white boy). It's a bit pricey, but the servings are large and the food is delicious.
Excellent take out!
We all know that Thai food boosts your overall immunity but this is some of the healthiest take out you will find here in Prescott!!! Everything on the menus is great. Not to mention the best “ real “Thai food hands down! This little kitchen gets busy with its take out orders and owner gets some of her ingredients from Thailand. This is a cash only spot and definitely worth a try !
Look, the chef is very sweet, we appreciated the great attitude. However, good Thai food, this is not. If you have any experience/standards with Thai, this place should be skipped. It may be the best (or one of the only) options is Prescott, but it is simply not good at all. The Tom Ka was absolutely like no other we have had before, honestly pretty disgusting. My girlfriend asked if was overcooked greasy top ramen broth with a splash of coconut. Phad Thai was over the top peanut sauce with wide noodles, like nowhere else we have ever had. Druken noodles were very boring, weak flavor. I would equate the flavor/quality of the food to what I would expect in a mall food court buffet style at best for $5 a scoop or less. At nearly $15 an entree, go somewhere else for sure.
The chicken fried rice was very good and the basil noodles were ok.
Great spot right here, take yourself and get the Evil Jungle Princess plate. Yum!!....
Small establishment, authentic, cash only. Bring some hunger and cravings to this spot. ✌
By far , best Take away, Thai food and service, in the whole Prescott area.
Wow!!! This place was Authentic and very flavorful. We ordered the pad Thai Thai with chicken, the flavor and fresh vegetables amazing.
Also had the fried rice with chicken again amazing!!
Also bought the bbq chicken with jasmine rice that comes with a salad and the amazing peanut dressing. I thought this was just a little hole in the wall place and was tempted to go hear, but this hole in the wall place is the best Thai I’ve had and I eat a lot of Thai food. The owner she’s a firecracker very friendly and knows how to cook!!
Just okay, we'll try again when coronavirus has passed and see if increased business helps the food freshness. When I arrived home we find out that we ordered shrimp for one entree and got chicken. I have no idea what I paid for since there is no receipt.
Bomb food, friendly service, and fair prices. What more could you want? Would highly recommend
Food was amazing again today! So missed Pan & her amazing cooking, smile, & joyful spunkiness. Only complaint ever is not being able to get Thai Tyfoon on Saturday & Sunday. We will be back very soon!
Pans food is no doubt, like a little taste of home. Whether you are from Thailand or not, you can always be assured at Thaifoons that you are eating quality food cooked fresh with the best ingredients. The humbleness of the owner/cook is amazing, and I am so glad I know that I can always count on her food
Always amazing
I love Thaifoon. It's the best Thai food in the area. She makes everything from scratch every morning and it's delicious. She takes pride in her cooking. Everything is so fresh. She makes amazing curries. My husband who doesn't like Thai food loves her drunken noodles. She is so friendly and always gives good service. Things to keep in mind are that it's cash only and counter service.
The best Thai food in Prescott, HANDS DOWN! Pan is the kindest lady ever. She reminds me of my grandmother. She cooks authentic Thai food with fresh ingredients and products from Thailand. It is hard to find humble people like her, she cooks because she loves it. Don’t forget to bring some cash because it’s cash only!
The green curry revived my soul, this is as close to home cooked food as you'll get without begging your mom for some dinner
Great food not a bad item on the menu!
Amazing little Thai place. Only takeaway, but the food was incredible and plenty of vegan options.
So disappointed. Heard great things. Got loads of rice but So few vegetables. Curry so so. So disappointing 😢😞
Food was amazing!!! The owner is the best!!! Please have salad rolls for me next time!!!!
Not sure...im a Thai-Fanatic..and I wasn't too impressed. The customer service was very welcoming and gave me a sense of "home" feeling. I'll for sure try it again, and report back.
Best Thai I have ever had!!!!
This is the second time getting food here each time I’ve been really sick and omg it’s the best I have ever had. Real authentic for sure !! It’s better than any restaurant around this area! Definitely worth the money!!!
Unlike any Tom Yum I've had before, but that's not necessarily a good thing. The idea of baby corn, onions, and bamboo shoots is good. The outcome is not. There was a sourness that wasn't discernibly lime. The veges overpowered the tartness. We got it "hot" which turned out to be a pleasant medium. I ordered my meal medium and it was bland. It was okay the first night. I figured I'd let it sit so the flavors would meld and the heat would show up the next day. Yuck. Not so. Not worth the calories on day two. However, it's not a total waste. It feels good to support a hard working woman doing the best she can with what she loves.
Amazing vegan options.
I've had thai all over the world, including months long stays in Thailand, and this is literally the best Thai I've ever had. great food, wonderful cook/owner/host. It's a must visit when in Prescott.
Pan is a great cook. I ordered Pho Ga. It was hot, fresh and delicious. Thanks Pan!
Thai foon, I love your food. So so much. Pan, I wish you would teach me you skills. She has mad cooking skills guys♡ she makes almost raw vegetables taste good.
This place was HORRIBLE to say the least. I called in an order 30 minutes before pick up. When I got there approximately 3 minutes early. The woman cooking yelled at me telling me and my 2 small kids to get out. Saying “BYE! BYE! LEAVE, WAIT OUTSIDE THERES NOT ENOUGH ROOM IN HERE!” I then turned to her to confirm my order. And what do you know, it was wrong. When I corrected her, she again.. got mad at ME because SHE got half of my order wrong. I said forget it, I see that you’re busy. Just finish up the one dish you’ve started and I’ll pay for that one. She hollered and let me know it was done, and I paid $20 for ONE dish. Because she was so rushed and worried about her other orders, she neglected to cook mine fully. It was raw. This woman was so rude, unapologetic, rushed, and she didn’t even cook the food! I can’t believe I paid for the one dish. I will never go back there and be spoken to the way that she spoke to me. Absolutely unacceptable! I will never speak a good word of her restaurant.
Feels like being invited into someones home for a meal. Every bite tastes like it's radiating with the incredible spirit of the great people making it. Best food in town hands down.
All I can say is WOW! I love the # 42 Spicy Fried Rice with Seasoned Chicken. She'll make it as spicy as you like it, and if you're at the small standing room only restaurant (no tables), she let you taste it to see if it's spicy enough for you, and if not, she'll add more spice :)
Very good food and the lady who runs the place is very entertaining. I was stationed in Thailand during the war. This woman is from the town I was stationed in. The taste is authentic and not Americanized. Love it!
Just amazing.
Thai food Pad Thai is amazinggg! Not like normal pad Thai but definitely a must try. The peanut sauce she uses in dishes is to die for!
Great food, each order is freshly prepared just for you. Vegetarian or with meat. Around $10 per person. I will be back!
Coconut soup is the best in town! And the woman who works there is just as lovely as can be.
Delicious Thai takeout. The lady running it is awesome. Cash Only.
Best Thai food in Prescott!!!
Sucks!!!!
Amazingly great!!!
How much more authentic can you get? you can't, pan makes the best Thai food around just be careful if don't like spicy food, medium is still really hot, but a good hot
Great service!! Owner is very nice! She is vegan friendly just let her know!!
Outstanding service! Food exceptional. My hubby is thai and very picky he was very satisfied.
Pan is the best and makes the best Thai food in the world. Everything is always fresh and organic and she has great customer service. She has never messed up my order from all the years I've been coming here. She I quite literally the best.
Real authentic Thai food! Plus, Pan (the owner) is amazing! If you haven't been to Thaifoon, GO!
Amazing food. Best sticky rice and mango. Fast service. Very small. Almost always call ahead and get take out. Owner is very kind and generous.
Best Thai food in town. All family recepies that are generations old straight from Thailand! Pan makes excellent dishes, and always focused on fresh quality ingredients. She spends all morning doing shopping for fresh food. Haven't seen anything come out of the freezer yet. Will always recommend this place!
My wife and I came here on honeymoon and I liked it so much my only regret was running out of the food.
The chef is full of fire and you can tell it translates with love over to the dishes. We were both coming off of a cold and upon consulting her, the chef modified the Pad Thai Thai so it would agree with me. My Wife's Tom Ka soup was different from the usual, (we come from L.A. with tons of Thai restaurants), but it wasn't lacking any elements, instead preferring to emphasize different flavors.
Amazing experience. The desert mango rice was amazing too! Very subtle sweetness to the rice.
I have gone here since 2010 and I love the food how fresh it is. Pan goes out every morning and gets fresh veggies for her dishes that day! She is an amazing soul and someone I will always help and I love taking other people there!
Been coming here for many years. Pan has always provided great service and food for a reasonable price
It should be specified that's only take out. No dine in.
Best thai food in arizona! My favorite is the pad Thai it has really good peanut sauce.
I had Pho for the first time this weekend while visiting Bisbee. It was an amazing experience. I was ecstatic to find someone within an hour of my home who offered it. I drove 40 minutes into the town of Prescott to pick up my order. What I ended up with was NOT Pho. What I ended up with was a $12 container of dirty vegetable water. And I certainly am not going to make the return trip to have them taste it to see if the was some sort of mistake. Horrible. Absolutely horrible. Will never go back.
Takeout and cash only, the food is just okay in my opinion
Fills you with virility and energy! Made with love. A must try if in Prescott.
I have eaten here many times, and the food is VERY good. All of it is cooked by two women who are very friendly and make you feel as if you're eating a home-cooked meal. I highly recommend the sticky rice with mango slices for dessert.
Amazing food and wonderful service. The ladies that work here work really hard at producing some of the best thaifood i have ever had. p.s. there peanut sauce is amazing!
Sadly, our experience was completely different from everyone else that has posted. My wife had pad thai and I had the Pad Se Ew. We both ended up throwing away half of it and are now looking for something else to eat. I can't say much about the Pad Thai, but the Pad Se Ew was overcooked and the seasoning was bland. It's a shame because I found the people really nice, but I can also say I definitely won't be going back here again. Too bad the thai food in Prescott Valley is so far away...cause that was the best I have had so far.
Take-out only, no inside seating. Cooked fresh in front of you, but their take on Pad Thai noodles and the red curry dish was not what I expected or prefer. Pad Thai noodles were drowned in soupy peanut sauce and the red curry was thin, watery. Both dishes had a small portion of protein (chicken). Reasonable prices, large menu selection, and very nice ladies who run the place would get me to come back and try some other dishes.
