Curries, noodles & other straightforward Thai offerings fill out the menu at this basic eatery.
Fantastic, authentic Thai. I’ve dined and ordered takeout at many Thai establishments. I took a chance on Doordash tonight and ordered here instead of my other Thai takeout and it was OUTSTANDING! Wow. Authentic, fresh, well packed for takeout and extremely tasty. Flavor was amazing, panang beef was perfect, fried rice is the best I’ve had in years. Five stars. I found my new spot
Delicious thai food. Red curry was so good. I ordered Egg roll but we didn't like that much. Vegetables are not crunchy.

Hidden little gem. We enjoyed dining in. The atmosphere was cozy and the food was delicious.
We have been dining in/carrying out for years, the food is generally very consistent and quality. The last time we dined in however, the service was down right rude, really left a bad taste, we left upset. I am sure will carry out, but not sure about dining in again.

Amazing
Excellent at a very reasonable price. The staff was friendly.
Awesome Thai and great atmosphere. Will 100% go again.
Wife and I wanted to try a new thai place and we choose Tum Nak tonight. We ordered the pineapple curry and yellow curry. Both currys were very watery and you couldn't taste anything other than the spice. It was more expensive than our typical go to but we don't mind paying more for quality. We also had the fried wontons but the sweet and sour sauce was also very watery and was like a yellow version of humming bird feeder. Very disappointing as it did smell very good in the restaurant.
Been coming here for years and this is some of the best Thai food I’ve had in the valley! The owners are so sweet and even recognize us by name. Highly recommend the pad thai, orange chicken, and spring rolls!
Great food and service.
Ordered 1. Potstickers, 2. Fried rice 3. Satay. Really good. We enjoyed.
Good food, gracious service, and comforting atmosphere. Rally glad that we took a chance stopping by at Tum Nak Thai - we look forward to coming back for more!
Been going here for a few years. They're always really fast and the high quality of the food and service has been consistent without fail.
My go to Thai restaurant. The Pad Thai is delicious and the prices are very reasonable.
Love this place for lunch. The Pad See Ew is always excellent.
Good authentic Thai food. With authentic Thai spice.
The food was delicious! The staff was friendly and fast service, we got take out , so I don't know what it was like inside , but we will do takeout again .
This is the most authentic Thai food you will get in AZ. Service is always polite Tom Kah gai is a favorite. Intimate inside decorated with thaianese art. We’re always go back
First time trying this place. Bad quality food and beverages. Don't recommend this place. Super disappointed):
I came here today we went to try Thai food for the very first time the place is nice and set up well the food was pretty good but their service we received was horrible it started out great and then our server was just continuing to get ruder and ruder through the whole time we were there there was another lady helping who was good on refilling our drinks so I appreciate that but our regular server was rolling her eyes at us when asking about the plates and at the end just asking about a couple extra charges she was very rude about which we were being charged wrongly just was trying to have our checks split the correct way
Been coming here a long time and it's always been good. Authentic Thai food.
The food here is excellent! My party of three got 3 different dishes and we shared them all (pineapple fried rice, larb salad, and a glass noodle dish). All three dishes were delicious.
I hate to leave this negative review. I’ve really liked this place. However, The quality of food has really gone down. I ordered my usual Pad See iw, The broccoli had definitely gone bad. The smell was so bad that it ruined the whole dish. The noodles and everything tastes bad. I called the establishment and they said they would make another dish. I am completely turned off because of the taste and smell that I asked if they could just refund me, it’s not edible, and I don’t want another dish. Of course they won’t refund. They only want to make another dish. I paid over 25$ for food that I cannot eat. This will be my last visit here. 25$ is more important than a long time customer.
My favorite Thai food in the valley. Used to live really close and eat here often, the owners got to know us and made the visits all the better.
Phoned in an order. Ordered 2 penang curry dishes, 1 mild and 1 medium.
Both came hot and thai hot! Neither one were very enjoyable. You shouldn't be able to visibly see spice in a mild dish, not to mention we had some added sticks from some really dry basil.
Don't know what is going on with this place? It a usual goto for thai because of how good it usually is... it's not the place it once was. The last couple orders have been pretty sub par. Not sure we'll order again.
Great food and fast service, been eating here for over 5 years and never had a bad experience
Tried to order delivery, they use door dash (didn't know?) driver never delivered. Might try not using delivery.
Was disappointed with the taste of the two dishes we ordered. My husband and I love Thai food and wanted to try out somewhere new. Unfortunately we were let down. We got the pad Thai and pad se ew, both seemed like the taste was off, kind of like they ran out of the correct seasoning and tried to season it with pepper instead. Not inedible but I wouldn’t personally go here again sadly. Don’t have any comments on service or atmosphere because we ordered take out! I’m sure they’re a nice family run business but I wouldn’t recommend.
Fantastic Thai place! Great tom yum soup.
Love this place. This is the bar other Thai restaurants have to rise above for me to give them a thumbs up. Small family business that serves great food.
It was just ok. Atmosphere is strip mall. Service was terrible. Everything came out individually, and the first two plates came a good 15 minutes before the last two. The drunken noodles were average at best. There were very few vegetables and the flavor was bland.
This place is a gem. Come here if you get a chance. We had the crab puffs, spring rolls and spicy green beans with beef and an egg roll and are were a 10/10. I wish I lived closer because I no joke would come here so so often. Thank you for your kind service as well! Can’t wait to be back.
I almost went to my favorite Thai place in town but thought I'd try this one, since the reviews were alright. I typically order 3 or 4 things at new Thai places in case I don't like something.
I pull up, and the sign is not in working order. It has several letters lit poorly and one was not even lit up at all. I lived very close to this place for almost a year in the past and it has never actually been in good working order, which shows the owner or management does not care enough for this establishment to be its best.
I call from the parking lot.
Moving along..
I ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees.
App #1: egg roll. Pretty standard, comes with the same water-thin "meh" quality sweet and sour sauce that most other places seem to use. I ordered peanut sauce for dipping, as I don't care for the sauce it comes with. The egg rolls were pretty good, and the peanut sauce was excellent.
App #2: crab Rangoon. Very poor quality right away. They were all burned, and barely had any filling in them, and the filling they did have tasted like cheap salty mayo covered seafood from a chinese buffet. They should not have allowed this dish to leave the kitchen in it's state.
Entree #1: pineapple curry, medium spiciness. The spiciness level was perfect. It made my nose water, which is what I like. The flavor was okay. I typically love the kaffir lime leaves flavor, but it was overpowering here. The flavor of the curry was just okay, and I don't think the pineapple really added to or complimented this particular dish, and it seemed unnecessary.. but I get that pineapple curry is a thing, and this was just my first experience with it. There were far too many green bell peppers in the curry. The consistency was like water, which was very upsetting to me!! I like my curries to have *at least* 50% more thickness than this one had! Very disappointing.
Entree #2: Drunken Noodle with chicken. The chicken seemed a little low in quantity, and the noodles seemed high. The flavor, while not bad, was very peppery. I liked it. But I sense it might be overpowering for some. The noodles were kind of broken up and dry, and this dish was very greasy.
Overall recommendation: spend your money elsewhere.
This was my second time here. The food is so delicious and they made it mild like I asked. I liked the fried tofu and put it in my meal with the sweet and sour sauce all over it. I got the #48 meal and the glass noodles with shrimp and veggies was amazing! They were very busy but I was served quickly and with a smile. And I am Diabetic and my numbers stayed low.
One of if not the best thai food in Arizona Friendly and food is delicious!
I’ve ordered only two dishes so far, pad Thai and Pad see ew. Their munch specials are a great price, the are very quick and consistent in quality.
Looking forward to ordering more items on the menu in the future.
Thank you!
I ordered to go a papaya salad and beef drunken noodles. The papaya salad is so little. they made me chicken drunken noodles instead of beef noodles. The food are not tasted good compared to other Thai restaurants I have eaten. Won’t come back and Not recommend it .
Tum Nak is the best Thai restaurant in the east valley. Their curry runs about one 'level' spicier than the rest of the menu, and while not a Thai dish, the teriyaki is probably my favorite thing on the menu.
Best Thai Food I've had in Gilbert!!!!
Have been craving Tum Nak (it’s been years since I’ve been). Tonight I got it out of my system in the worst way… Ordered by phone and it was quick and easy. Got masaman and green curries (rice is included, which is nice). The veggies are so delicious, but unfortunately the broth was extremely salty—not spicy, but overly salty. I definitely think this place has authentic recipes, so I was initially willing to pay a little bit more. However, the small portion sizes + the not-great curries changed my mind. Maybe it was an off-night for the chef, I don’t know.
I ordered the pad thai and it was super sweet in a way I didn't care for it. I would not come back here for pad thai ever again.
I love this place. Food is always amazing and portions are large. Worth every penny!
Friendly people, tasty food, and relaxing atmosphere. The perfect lunch place
Very flavorful food, quiet atmosphere, good service. Vegetarian dishes available.
Edit: Apologies for the bad review.
After my 2nd and 3rd disappointed visit to this place, i am withdrawing my best review for them.
Past 2 times, the food quality was very bad.
If only I was not already so dehydrated, I would probably enjoy the curries, which were super high on salt.
If I didn't know how to heat up my own frozen egg rolls, I would probably appreciate them being hot outside and cold inside.
If i had never tasted a good Tom Yom soup before, I would have appreciated this soup here with flavorless and old vegetables in them.
Visited this place with the same friend as we both liked it before. Not our favorite place anymore. 😔
Old review:
THE BEST Thai restaurant I have eaten in a loooong time. My new favorite go to food place in town!
Even the spring rolls were very delicious.
My friend and I were starving after shopping at San Tan Mall. We wanted to only eat Thai and we found this place.
We didn't know we hit the jackpot!
✅️ flavourful food
✅️ very pleasant and courteous staff
✅️ cooked perfectly
✅️ quick serve time
100 % best Thai food in the valley. Hands down. GG
My food wasn't as good as usual. It was overcooked and the curry didn't have enough flavor. They usually give you a bit more for the lunch servings as well. Hopefully it was just an off day.
I’ve been coming here for years and they have some of the best Pad Thai! I also really like the yellow curry.
We have lunch here regularly. The service is prompt and professional. Chicken Basil is exceptional. The vegetable stir fry is my wifes favorite. Inexpensive and excellent quality. We will definitely go back again.
The food is good but hit and miss. I went there twice, got the same dish but tasted completely different. Both are still good but it would be nice to have the same taste.
Excellent authentic food!
I arrived at Tum Nak Thai 7:47pm. I realized the online said they closed at 830pm, so i wanted to be sure i got there before they had some kitchen cuttoff time. Anyways, they were open, so i walked in. Other customers were seated, and so i waited for someone to speak with to be seated. No one in sight. I waited. And waited. And waited. 21 minutes later, staff appeared. Took some phone orders. Then, they looked at me. I asked if i could sit and order. She said, yes, what do you want to order. I asked if i should sit first. She said no. Then asked if i wanted takeout. I repeated myself, can i please sit down and eat? She said no. Do you want takeout?
It took 25 minutes for me to experience being told they wouldn't serve me. I get places like to close kitchens a few minutes before close. But this was just plain rude. Refusing to appear ina 20 minute span, then, while other customers were seated, to tell someone to go away or order takeout. It was just too brutal.
Do they have good food? Who knows.
Are the people good to deal with? Doubt it.
Is the experience good? Highly unlikely.
A poor restaurant with a terrible perception that human beings may want to pay them money to enjoy their food.
0 stars would be better rating.
Hard to find good Thai in Mesa. This is not it. Got to go and there was no bean sauce or anything on pad kee mow/drunken noodle. Bland and tasteless. Just noodles a couple and veggies and a few pieces of chicken. Pad Thai was so so at least had a sauce with noodles even if too sweet.
I love this place, but there prices have doubled in the last year or two. Pineapple curry used to be $8 and now it was $15 as was the Pad Thai.
I've eaten a lot of Thai but this is by far the most watery flavorless curry I've ever ever had. Some serious corners being cut. My husband's curry was half missing, even though mine was full (we ordered the same thing). The chicken was paper-thin and a little tough. Ordered to-go, they said to come in 15 minutes, what they actually meant was almost triple that, it took 40 minutes. Maybe this was an off night, but with this many errors it felt like they just don't care.
Absolutely amazing, everything we have tried we have liked it. Fantastic customer service 👏
I would consider myself a connoisseur of Thai food, especially since I’ve been to Thailand. I have to say this is the BEST pineapple curry I have ever had. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was great. The rice in particular was moist and soft and flavorful, perfect. This is now my number one favorite Thai restaurant.🎁♥️
Literally can't believe how good it was. I am a to the stonished. The gods have shined upon us tonight. Had no idea this intimate lil spot of yumminess was so close. Just goes to show sometimes the beauty of life is right under your nose 👃 ✨️ 😌.
The food here does not disappoint. I personally like the Pad Thai with chicken (spicy). Tom Kha soup is delicious and also a favorite
Great Food! Good service and nice environment. Good prices and extensive menu!
Great little place good customer service
Fresh food, fast and friendly service!
Food is so good. I love the pad woon Sen!
Best Thai food around. They always make my custom order perfectly and it tastes divine.
I ordered the green curry with shrimp. Didn't taste remotely like any green curry I've ever had (my favorite Thai dish) It was just spicy with no discernable green curry flavor. They also left the tails on the shrimp so I had to get my fingers messy to pull them off! At least I got quite a few shrimp and they were cooked perfectly, otherwise I would've given one star. Service was very fast which was nice. Won't be going back though.
Exceptional food and service!
Came in for a to-go order and got my food quickly. Staff was very friendly. Yellow curry was especially delicious. This will be my new go to!
Food was excellent. Not crowded
Love coming here for lunch. I typically call ahead but even when I don't its never too bad of a wait. Food is delicious my favorite is the #6 and then I replace the meat with broccoli. Top notch. Love this little spot. Will continue to support.
The best Thai food in the east valley. Tom Kha soup is worth a trip by itself.
So savory and delicious 😋😁💛
This food is authentic and delicious!!
Everything is great here!
Fantastic Pad Thai, fast service and friendly service
Very authentic and spicy (by request)
This place is my absolute favorite! The people are really nice and the aesthetics of the restaurant are immaculate :) Their food is really really delicious and their Thai tea is wonderful ❤️
Ordered the spicy Thai fried rice. I love Thai food but this was not the best. The rice was too wet and the beef was extremely tough and dry very chewy. The green leaves (Thai basil?) were dry and chewy. The exterior of the bathroom door is very dirty. On the bright side, the waiter was very friendly.
Love this place! Great food and service. Been going for 5+ years and it's always amazing!
We have been going to Tum Nak Thai for almost 10 years, the food is amazing! The people are so nice and friendly. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Thai food.
This place has been one of our favorite Thai places since like... 2007... Even since moving further away, we still find a way to fit this restaurant into our life as often as possible! Dine or To-Go!
Favorite local Thai place for years!
Always great food!
Good food, quick to serve, friendly but don't allow refills
Awesome attention to detail to my dietary meal requirements. Appreciate it, and the quiet atmosphere. Plus there are other restaurants and a nutritional drink place right close by. I slept through the night with no heartburn, or stomach issues at all. Now it took about 3 minutes to explain what not add in the food but it was well worth it
Red Curry was extremely salty.
Thai food is my favorite type of food so I was excited when I moved to the area to find a Thai restaurant so close. I was Sadly mistaken, it was really bad. I ordered crab Rangoons, spring rolls and sweet & sour chicken. The crab Rangoons were burnt as pictured below! When my husband went to bring them back to get a new order the lady gave us a new order but said "next time when you order them ask them to not cook them so much" I was puzzled as there won't be a next time but also I have never seen crab rangoons black and burnt surly this isn't how they normally cook them. Also, the sweet and sour dipping sauce tastes just like old vegetable oil no flavor at all and is a neon orange color that resembles anti freeze. The vegetables in the sweet and sour chicken were not cooked at all they were still very hard. Just overall disappointing experience I threw away literally all my food.
Wife and kid's love this place, call in order's are always ready too go!
I love this place. I try to get there every week to eat. Every dish I've tried has been great. Service is great. Highly recommend.
Very nice place with great food. They were able to provide tasty food and able to keep it vegan. The owner is very nice and so is the ambiance. I felt like I was at a spa and was very relaxed during the whole meal and after. I’ll be back!
Love Thai food but this place blows every other Thai restaurant out of the water! Consistently delicious. Favorite Thai place in AZ.
Love it!
Had what I needed
The food always tastes so good! Great for take out, and always a pleasant experience dining in
Chicken pad Thai was mediocre, soggy, over saturated with sauce and didn't come with slices of lime
great quality, friendly staff. the best in Mesa, IMO
Absolutely love the food here!
Best place for thai....
Delicious Thai the best I’ve had in Arizona! I’ve been coming here for the lunch specials for years and highly recommend them to anyone interested in delicious dine in or carry out Thai food that’s authentic and very reasonably priced.
Amazing atmosphere amazing food you won’t leave hungry
Excellent food and service.
It was very good.
Best Thai food in Arizona
Great food and Thai iced tea! I had the chicken pad thai.
Very good food.
Food is good but they raised their prices like crazy recently. I use to come in once a week for their Beef Panang and i always paid 9.99 , now its over 18 dollars for a dish that is mostly water. now I only go once every couple months because I cant afford 18 dollars for a take out meal all the time. I wonder if raising prices by almost double really makes them more money when they lose a weekly customer like me.
Been going for the past 6 years, why because the food is consistently great. If anything in an ever increasing crazy world its good to have something you can depend on.
This is the only Thai food place i really eat at. My girlfriend recommended it & refuses to eat thai food from anywhere else. We have tried a few other places before, but we’re both always very disappointed. It’s also nice that it’s a locally owned place, not a chain :)
Great food and friendly staff 👌
The food is really good, however their portions have gotten too small for the price they charge, it would be nice if they went back to the original portion which made it worth the price
Quick take: Bad Service, good food. If you can deal with unfriendly staff that seem bothered to wait on you, then it's recommend the food.
******
Blink, and you may miss this one... buried in a vacant small strip lot across from Ihop, Savers, and Denny's is one of our favorite hole in the wall Thai restaurants.
It may not look like much, even on the inside, but the food is fantastic.
If you are new to Thai, start with the mild heat, and work your way up.
Highly recommend if you want to try Thai for the first time, or are looking for a new Thai restaurant.
***FYI - service can be hit or miss. Food is still great, but not sure how much more we'll visit due to lack of friendliness of staff.
Past two visits they seemed upset that we were coming in and ordering. Sorry, but if you are staying you're open to 9pm, placing an order or trying to dine in at 8:25pm shouldn't be a deal breaker.
My best friend and her family used to take me here all the time and I miss it so much. I can't wait to have some yellow curry and pad kee mao with the best thai iced tea ever!!!!❤
We're pretty picky about our Thai food and and usually only go to one specific restaurant in Chandler, but this place was actually really good. We usually do panang curry and at some places it can be too sweet and bland. Flavor was on point. The wait was quite long and space was limited though. Felt really bad for the staff as I think they just didn't have enough people to keep up with the demand of dine in and take out. Still good though! Would come here again if I was on this side of town.
The service was quick and the food was amazing! I highly recommend!
$60 2 chicken pad se eew 1 chicken satay 1 fried wonton and 2 coffees. The wontons were empty pretty much as you can see the satay we’re tiny and dry like they had been microwaved. The food was lukewarm and lacked flavor. Looking at the online menu prices this should have been around $40. Still absolutely not worth that. Complete rip off. I never do reviews. I just don’t want to see other’s misled and dissatisfied.
Great Thai place. Get the egg rolls 👍
Great Thai food, quick service.
this place has the best Pad see ew! i wish they did delivery via doordash or something, it’s so far away and if they had delivery id order all the time :(
My boyfriend and I both wanted Pad Thai from a specific thai place but they were closed, so this was our next closest option. I went with mild pad thai while my boyfriend went with medium heat pad thai.
I thought my pad thai was good, a little sour (like sweet and sour - not sure if that is how it is supposed to taste), while my boyfriends had a little kick but tasted like a buffalo wing... He had stopped eating his and I'd asked why - I tried it and I was amazed that it tasted like I was eating wing sauce. I was a little disappointed in this. He said he would never eat here again. I would probably give it another try, but that was very disappointing.
Terrible quality, ridiculous prices (they raised each item by a minimum of $2 since the start of Covid) but, the worst part was the service. Lady was very rude n didn't want to be bothered! Never ever coming back! If you want a nice experience, reasonable prices as well as quality food... Thai House Mesa Is only 2 miles from this place!
Really cute little thai restaurant with friendly service and delicious food!
Very good fresh and delicious.
Awesome food
I got green curry with extra vegetables and I’ve never had vegetables that were so over cooked in my entire life. It was too salty and not spicy either- I ordered it as 3/5 spicy.
I’m happy they’re open for dine in. One of the best Thai places I’ve been and I’m a regular. I brought my picky eater bf and he got pad Thai and since then he started eating Thai food. Good portion size for their dinner it’s good for 2 and I normally stop for lunch as they have good lunch specials less than $10.
Some of the best Thai in Phoenix. We've been coming here for years & they are consistently delicious! The owners are so nice & personable.
Best Thai food place in town quick and friendly service I'm here roughly once a week owner knows my order even after not going for a few years
Great food, the service was fantastic!
Wow! I finally found Great Thai Curry in East Mesa.
This is the 1st restaurant after 4 others that actually has Thai chilies. The curries are a tiny bit thin, but taste awesome! The calamari was wonderful, and the hot and sour soup was fantastic! I will definitely be back
My favorite local Thia! The tofu versions are great!
It always amazes me how many people haven't had good Thai food yet. Once you actually get good tasting Thai food it's difficult to ever eat any other Thai food. Didn't listen to to-go order, bland at best no extras as requested. Smelled like old wet vegetables.
Lemongrass soup.
