A wide array of Thai specialties presented in a relaxed dining room with traditional accents.
A surprising and delightful find in Fairbanks- a wonderful bowl of Tom kha to warm up as you step inside from sub zero cold. Traditional decor makes it very pleasant, bright lit up place makes it a relaxed venue. Great service. All of the food was very delicious and truly enjoyable. Most of their curries have shrimp base which was a little disappointing but truly appreciate the server’s honesty for telling us about the base. I hope they soon support portable POS so your card never leaves you. Busy street even on winter days so parking can be hard but we took Lyft. Definitely recommended, and I will go again when I am in Fairbanks the next time.
A pleasant, bright place for a relaxed evening. Traditional decor gives a nice cultural touch. Spring rolls, pineapple fried rice and Thai iced tea were top notch. They are short on staff so the wait might seem long but service is warm and polite.
Tip for vegetarians: they will tell you but make sure to check. Massaman, and red curry have shrimp paste in them.
It is surprised that you can actually find this authentic Thai restaurant in the middle of Alaska. Everthing comes with what they should taste like. I specially recommend their Chicken Satay and Pad Thai which were amazing. Yet, you may consider an overall waiting of one-hour since they are one of the hottest restaurant in the town. But I'll say it is worth for.
After a morning exploring downtown Fairbanks, we spotted this wonderful culinary gem. According to the menu menu, it’s the second oldest Thai restaurant in the city!
The restaurant had the most beautiful flowing flower containers along its street facade that made it an eye catching site in the rather spartan looking city.
Inside the restaurant was beautifully decorated with quite a few parties dining around the various tables topped with crisp white table cloths that was a nice touch at lunchtime in a casual town.
Now for the food…it was fresh, flavorful and delicious. All the dishes that came out were colorful and picture perfect.
We ordered the vegetarian pad pak and it came chopped full of all sorts of fresh, crisp vegetables from broccoli, carrots, bamboo shoots, edamame, peas, cabbage, and a light brown sauce with a heaping scoop of jasmine rice. The dish was so large we were able to easily split it between two people with some left.
The vegetable eggrolls were also crisp light and tasty with a delicious peanut sauce.
We had our first meal in Fairbanks at this restaurant. We ordered their spring rolls (not fried), chicken satay (my personal favorite), drunken noodles and green Thai curry. Every plate was full of authentic flavors and served hot which was really nice given it was negative temperature outside. The host is also quite polite and takes care of every single thing. Definitely recommend this place to grab a meal if you’re visiting the town.
Thai hot. I LOVE super hot and spicy Thai food. It ruins my meal if I ask for Thai hot and it comes without any spice or heat. I got the Penang Curry and Thai hot was enough to make my nose run and eyes water just a bit. It was the PERFECT spice level. Thanks for the great food. The flavor was sooo fresh with the lime leaves in this dish. My partner got the pad thai and it was good but a bit sweeter than we are used to from Texas. We hear that is more authentic but still prefer a bit less sweet. 10/10. They had a sign they were short staffed but we were seated immediately and the food took 10 minutes.
We had two delicious curries.
My wife took a picture of me licking my dish, but I'm not posting that lovely shot.

Bahn Thai is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The food is packed with authentic Thai flavors, and every dish is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The Pad Thai is perfectly balanced, the green curry is rich and flavorful, and the spring rolls with peanut sauce are a must-try! The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel right at home. Whether you're dining in or taking out, Bahn Thai is a fantastic choice for delicious, comforting Thai food. Highly recommend love

Sooooo tasty! All our food was super flavorful, not at all greasy, and was super authentic from how we remembered the food in Thailand. Will definitely stop here every time we’re in town!

Very delicious
Seriously this is the worst service place I’ve ever been in US. We arrive here around 6 but after we order, we wait for like a hour and we r tired and hungry… but when we ask for how long we still need to wait, the waitress just said it’s not his fault..(btw becuz one waitress we got wrong food first) The manager was rude and racist. He wouldn’t serve us cuz we are asian….
This place is consistently one of my favorites!! I definitely recommend it! My favorite is their green curry but everything is great!
Customer service is not good . Need to improve on hospitality.

Tasty Thai food in downtown Fairbanks, with an interior that may seem over the top on first impressions, but it's actually quite nicely, even impreasively done to spruce up what would otherwise be an ordinary room.
Food did not blow me away but was still very solid all around. One of the better Thai places in the area.
El lugar es tranquilo, la comida es muy abundante, un plato alcanzaría para 2 personas
Very nice large restaurant. Staff very friendly. Received our food quickly and water filled several times!
Had Lunch here during our trip to Fairbanks. They have a lot of Thai Restaurants in this City, but I'm glad we chose this one. We really enjoyed the food and the great service. Nothing like a hot Curry or Soup on a cold Alaska day.
We had lunch here on 10/12/24 and we were totally pleased with our meals. We thought the portions were huge, and very well seasoned. The restaurant had quite a large crowd but our servers did a great job of being timely! The atmosphere was nice and bright as well.
Ordered chicken pad see ew, vegetables pad cashew, and chicken panang curry. With 2 hot teas and a thai ice tea total was $52. Everything was really good and finished everything.
Nice Thai restaurant downtown Fairbanks. Food was well prepared, service was pleasant and efficient, atmosphere was warm, airy, well lit.
I had TomYum soup and it was very close to what you would find in Bangkok. My wife had Pad thai which was also well prepared. Portions are on the larger side, so keep that in mind when ordering.
Would go back when in Fairbanks.
Excellent!
The food was delicious (authentic Thai), the service was great and the place is really pretty.
I would suggest the Phad Thai (the best dish that we tried).
Fantastic. I got the drunken noodle with seafood and a Thai tea. Absolutely delicious.
Almost forgot about this resteraunt. It was on our trip to Alaska. As I remember, the food was good. Although now I couldn't tell you what I ate. But if I would have been bad definitely would have remembered.
Very nice-looking restaurant. It is decorated well, giving you a great Thai atmosphere. There is a long wait time for your order. The wait staff service is mediocre.

Pad Thai chicken 5/5
Drunken noodles 10/5 yes it was that good! So many veggies
Thai tea - 4/5 as it was a bit too sweet for me!
Again I love Thai food and very picky on Thai food. This is the best Thai food I have ever had!
Very quick service & very very large portions!!

You can't go wrong with this place, absolutely the best thai place in Fairbanks. Portions are generous and tastes so good. I love coming here because of the food and service, they are always nice even around the closing time..keep up the good work !
This is a good restaurant in town.
Their medium spicy yellow curry with vegetables cured my depression, bad mood and head cold. Each bite is perfect. Rice is fluffy and fresh, the vegetables perfectly cooked. One portion serves two, absolutely perfectly. Obsessed with this place.
Good Thai food in Fairbanks, we enjoyed couple of meals here
Excellent pad Thai. Fantastic and courteous service.
Slow service
Second favorite Thai place in Fairbanks, curries are great.
I absolutely love the soups here!
Only thing I’ve tried , but me and my husband had soups that day and they were amazing!
Definitely would go again.
Not a lot of experience with Thai food, so kept it simple, but this experience certainly encouraged me to want to try more. We shared the fresh spring rolls, and an order of shrimp pad Thai. Both were flavorful and delicious, with large portions. Staff was attentive and kept our water glasses filled.
Outstanding food and service
Excellent
Best and most authentic Thai restaurant in downtown Fairbanks. Prices on par with most other local restaurants in the area. Relaxing atmosphere with great street level window views of 3rd st. Excellent service and wonderful food. You can't go wrong at Bahn Thai. Tell em Puff sent you.
Great food, excellent service, beautiful dining room. They have my favorite spring rolls that I’ve ever tried, and their drunken noodle dish was super yummy as well. Also our waitress was fantastic.
Top notch Thai Food. Recommend to try MASSAMAN curry, Fried Rice and Pad Thai. Food and Ambience are excellent. However service could be better. They were operating with very few staffs and hence it took while to bring food. Otherwise, a very good restaurant to try in FAIRBANKS.
Beautiful restaurant, service was quick and very attentive. The food was incredible. Ordered the panang curry, tom ka soup and pad see ew and they were all 10/10. The spring rolls were also incredible and big enough portion for 3 or 4 to share. Best food I've had in Alaska through a week long journey!
Excellent shrimp pad thai
This is a great spot in the downtown area for Thai food. We had the pad cashew and the massaman curry. Both tasted delicious. All items were reasonably priced as well.
The service is a little slow though but that didn't bother us much.
My family and I tried this place on a recent trip to Fairbanks. We loved the food. The Thai flavors are authentic and the service is pretty good and quick which worked for us since we came in pretty hungry.
The staff is polite and friendly.
Would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting Fairbanks
Excelente lugar!
This place is usually good but I guess that has changed. They got my order wrong and refused to fix the problem. My order was Chew chicken, fresh spring roll and Neuua Yaang beef. Went inside, paid and when I got home to serve dinner I noticed my Neuua Yaang beef was not there but a red curry sauce with beef in it. I called and informed them of this mistake and they refused to fix this mix up. The lady said we can prepare that for you but you are going to haft to pay. I was baffled by this answer and told them I'm not gonna pay for a mess up they did. All I got was a sorry and left it at that. Sadly they lost a customer and I won't be coming back.
Dish is pretty good but lack authentic flavor. The service is really lacking, the server never came to serve our table unless we wave at them a few times
Best Thai food in Fairbanks
What a treat! Fab Thai food in the heart of Fairbanks.
In the heart of this remote Alaskan city, Bahn Thai is a hidden gem showcasing exquisite Thai cuisine. From the moment I stepped inside, the impeccable service and inviting atmosphere made me feel like an honored guest. The menu offers a tantalizing selection of Thai delights, from fragrant green curry to spicy pad thai. Each dish was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures, crafted with precision by skilled chefs. The attention to detail and genuine passion for Thai cuisine shone through in every aspect of the dining experience. For an unforgettable journey through the vibrant flavors of Thailand, Bahn Thai is the ultimate destination in Alaska's wilderness.
Thank you Yuii and Achi for your hospitality.
Mind blowing food! Every bite was delicious and they have a wide range of vegetarian options. Tofu was grilled, and beautifully golden. Will definitely come one more time before leaving town!
We had a large group come here and they were great about handling all of us. We returned a second time as we enjoyed the food a lot! Great prices for huge meals. Seems Alaska does everything BIG!!!
My fiancé and I went to this restaurant on our Alaska tour, as a part of the itinerary, and we absolutely loved it! It is one of the top-rated Thai restaurants in Fairbanks and is a local favourite.
Our waitress was so lovely. She took care of our entire group, which consisted of 12 people, and was so kind and knowledgeable of the menu. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with Thai imagery including wooden carved elephants, Buddhist gods, statues, a partition, and plants.
For an appetizer, I shared their Chicken Curry puffs with my fiancé. For my main, I got their Drunken Noodles with Scallops, and it was delicious! The portion was enormous, so I gladly had leftovers for the next day. It was cooked in their scrumptious Thai Brown Sauce, and the scallops were cooked perfectly. Their lemonade was also lovely and refreshing.
This Thai restaurant is a great place for a family gathering or date night out, and I really enjoyed my meal here!
Wonderful food, great service!
Buen servicio, buena relación calidad-cantidad y precios.
Nice hot thai food in below 0 place
I don’t eat at the same place twice when I travel but this was honestly the best Thai food I’ve ever had and that’s coming from a Seattle/San fran native. We HAD to go back again before I left. Highly recommend!!
3 stars only because they do not have an option for cup of soup, only bowl. However, this place is definitely 4-4.5 star thai restaurant.
FOOD: ordered the daily special, avocado curry thai hot. Had plenty of chicken and avocado. Fantastic sauce and lots of food. However, not spicy enough for me considering I ordered hottest curry available.
LOCATION: downtown with plenty of parking around. Easy to find.
PRICE: around $15. Priced fair to good in my opinion.
Would definitely comeback again.
Best customer service in Fairbanks.
Food was pretty good but the service was God awful. I had a party of 4 and they just seemed to want to rush and push us out as fast as they could. Lots of dirty looks from the staff as well. We were polite, tipped well, dressed appropriately and they were not even that busy. You could probably find somewhere better to eat around town.
Nice thai restaurant. Great food and nice staff.
I’ve traveled all over and this is some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. We had the red curry, Tom yum soup and the pad Thai. Just delicious. The portions are amazing and the women who served us were all very sweet. Coming here in one of the highlights when we’re in Fairbanks.
Hands down one of the most authentic experience one can get in the States. Everything I ordered was great - from the appetizers to the main course. The service is nice too and the staff is extremely warm. I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re in town :)
Great Thai food!
We called in and placed a phone order as we we’re scheduled to reach few minutes before their closing time, they kindly obliged and waited for us to be done, very nice of the staff :)
Now coming to the food, it was perfectly done and the best meal we had in Fairbanks! Undoubtedly one of the best Thai restaurants we’ve ever been to and highly recommend the spicy basil fried rice, green curry and Tom kha.
Great services
Worst food we have ever gotten here. Too long to wait..people had to leave before they got food. 1 hour and they had to be back on bus.
Ladies very nice..just way in over their heads.
Sorry..this use to be one of my favorites. O well!
great taste avocado green curry with chicken and basil, Thai iced coffee is delicious, so as halibut egg rolls
updated 08/21/23
food as great as always, we had shrimp egg roll, fried tofu, grilled beef and pineapple curry this time, the protein is generous and service is quick and friendly 💚
Just like the family who owns it The food is just as amazing as the service. The atmosphere is very much representative of how you would expect a Thai restaurant to look. No complaints. The food is consistent and the service is wonderful.
fantastic
The egg rolls were great! They claim to be the best you've ever had and they aren't far off. The only thing I would change would be to have a pork option. The chicken wasn't bad, but I do love some pork egg rolls. You also get 5 full egg rolls split into 10, for $10. It's not bad given the taste and amount. The pad Thai was delicious, but it absolutely needed more spice. Otherwise, it was something I would order again. Service was incredible and the restaurant itself was nice and clean and well spaced. You don't feel like you are on top of other tables.
Some really, really delicious Thai food here! And the portions are plentiful.
Best Thai food
I ordered a Pla Rad Khing in order to have my first salmon in an Alaskan restaurant. It was good but the pieces of salmon was a little bit hard to find between the vegetables. It was also a little too salty for me.
The spring rolls were good.
Friendly staff. Very (very) quickly served. It was just a little annoying to take the key to g on to the toilet.
The spring rolls are amazing. There pineapple fried rice is the best I have ever had!
Really good food! I had the yellow chicken curry and my best friends mother had the green curry, it was all delicious! Will definitely be visiting again!
Calamari tough , taste of dish was fine staff warm and friendly
Super delicious and authentic food, good service and good location as well
Great food, consistent quality everytime
Wonderful fresh ingredients. Nice and creative with Wonderful taste and authentic cooking. 2 thumbs up.
The Thai fried rice was amazing - very generous portions and super fresh. Also really appreciated it because I'm vegan and they were willing to hold both the oyster and fish sauce!! Staff was pleasant and very attentive without being overly so. All in all a great experience. Highly recommend!
Very authentic Thai food! If you like the scent of original Thai dishes you will like it.
I would recommend to anyone!!! The food is always delicious and has great portion sizes! The staff is always SO friendly and accommodating. Overall just a great experience and I’ve ordered takeout multiple times and it’s just great!!
Love the food here. The curry dishes taste great and they have a good variety of them.
We enjoyed this restaurant. Delicious food, clean, and nice atmosphere.
Very good Thai food!
Ordered take out. Pad Thai was excellent.
This place has one of the best customer service in Fairbanks hands down! We arrived at 8:50pm and they close at 9 but still let the 4 of us sit and dine in.
We placed the order before we arrived though. A Thai restaurant nearby that closes at 9 had their door locked at 8:30pm itself! Weird..
parking can be challenging on the roadside so you might have to look around a bit before you get lucky.
The ambiance was traditional and warm. Actually very beautiful.
The panang curry with tofu I ordered was rich in flavour and I got a side of brown rice with it instead of regular jasmine as they ran out of it.
The Thai green tea was something new and I really really loved it. Something I insist you try.
My husband ordered the chicken panang curry, friends ordered pad Thai tofu and pineapple fried rice with tofu and I tasted all of it and everything was top notch. Will visit again when I'm in Fairbanks.
We tried a few dishes and they were all good, we recommend there pad Thai and chicken fried rice. There service was good as well.
Great thai food. They have a really nice waiting area to wait for your takeout order.
Always amazing food and great service
Was hoping to get an early dinner but to our dismay, found out they are shutting down every day for an hour after we got there. The staff was friendly and the decor, down to the menu, was nice and authentic.
The spring roll was okay (no shrimp) and the dipping sauce was average. Overall, it came across as kind of bland.
The Thai hot tea was fantastic, maybe the best I've had.
The Green Curry with chicken was very good, with great aroma, flavor, and texture. I'd have that again with no complaints. The curry is currently tied for 2nd for me in Fairbanks on my quest to try every Thai place in town.
Made a reservation but still wait for 30 mins to seat then wait for more than 90 mins for food ... Besides, terrible service
Discovered their Avocado Green Curry. Fantastic!!! My new favorite meal. Kind of difficult to find, but once you find it on 3rd St. you'll want to return over and over.
Halibut egg rolls were definitely unbeatable
I'm giving this 5 stars only because they have delicious Thai green tea! I haven't tried anything else.
This was my second trip to Fairbanks and second time here! I have tried a few Thai restaurants in Fairbanks and I have to say, this is the best!!! The food is amazing and it’s located downtown. The spice tray allows you to add spices according to your taste buds, so the food is never too spicy to too bland. I got the pineapple curry with tofu but also love the Panag curry here! You can’t go wrong here.
Authentic decor and food with super friendly service. Highly recommended.
Fix your open/closed times on the website.
Great cashew chicken 😉
Don't do the Tom Kha! (coconut milk soup)
People who are familiar with this dish know it is creamy coconut milk soup with veggies and protein, like chicken, fish or prawns usually.. if you like this classic dish do not order it here, you will not get Tom Kha
I am convinced the Bahn cook hates Tom Kha, it taste nothing like the dish... one thing is interesting is they like to cut their ginger in thin slices that look identical to slices of chicken so it's a kind of roulette of which one your about to eat... also you'll have to attend with large hunks of lemon grass and lime leaves.. these inedible particulates make up about half of the soup.. this takes quite some time to pick out and makes eating it frankly annoying.
So... we have ginger, lemon grass, and lime leaves... this I just don't understand... there seems no rhyme or reason here because they don't not compliment each other in the least.. when you put these three ingredients together it just taste like vinegar.. that's all..
The end result tasted like some depression era vinegar chicken soup..
Sour is the absolute last flavor you want in Tom Kha, the coconut milk taste is very easily over powered you have to be very carful with spices.. basically it needs a lot of chili, you can add a touch of yellow curry if anything.. you cant even add garlic becaue it will over power the coconut flavor, and use very little salt or you won't be able to taste the natural sweetness of the coconut.
The egg rolls were not bad.
The meals we had pad Thai and chicken curry were the best Thai food we had in a long time.
Yummy red curry.
Best spring rolls and egg rolls in town. The quantity is too much for one person to handle. My wife and I order two appetizers and one main course between us, and it's more than sufficient. Customer service can be improved. They don't have a full bar but bottled beer and wine. You can bring your own bottle of wine 🍷 but you have to pay $8.
Excellent food with large portions and good service. Bahn Thai never disappoints!
Nice decor inside. Street parking was easy during dinner time on a weekday. The service staff were courteous. Service was relatively slow though. We ordered soup noodle, a salad, and a curry chicken. They were all pretty good, almost as good as the good Thai restaurants in San Francisco Bay area. Prices were reasonable.
Loved it!! We had a party of five. We all had different orders and we all loved it. One of us had the special which was Avocado Curry. What a unique and tasty dish. The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated. The bathrooms were clean. The staff was awesome. Very friendly and funny. I will be going back.
Love this place - maybe the best Thai food in all of Alaska?!?! Plus the service is incredible. So attentive, constantly refilling waters, asking if you need anything else, and bringing food and drinks promptly. I even left my bag and they returned it to my hotel after they had closed!! Totally above and beyond. Totally recommend if you're in Fairbanks and like Thai food.
Wonderful Thai currys! We ate way too much because it was so delicious!
Always good. Been gone for 15 years and still great food and service.
My most favorite was the Spicy pad thai (I’ve had all the meat options) with a thai iced tea and the spring rolls!!! I came here just about every two weeks if not more
My daughter and her boyfriend knew how much my wife and I love Thai food. BAHN THAI did not disappoint! Fantastic food, service. I highly recommend. A 100 on a 10 scale.
Nice atmosphere, great food and lots of options.
Not only the best Thai food in town, it’s the best food in town! Always consistent, always flavorful, always going home with a to-go box because the portions are well worth the prices.
Food was good, so about 4 stars. (We had better Tom Yum at other restaurant though.) But service was 2 star, so average about 3 stars. The server charged us extra for tips, because apparently we had ‘too much (12) people’ and ‘used too much plates’ when we didn’t have an option. She just brought it out for us to use when we never asked for it. When I asked for napkins, she told me to get it myself. She never poured water for us. And her attitude wasn’t the best, we expected better. Overall decent food just super bad service.
Our food was very good and plenty of it with great service. I had the drunken noodles with chicken and it was delicious.
The service was poor. Big group was asked to pay 18% tip, but no service! We need napkins, and the waitress let us to take it at the the front desk. The plates just put on the table and we have to transfer to the right place. Never come to clean or ask. The attitude was terrible.
Best Thai this side of the Mississippi. Must have the Thai Noodle Soup! No need to order the halibut egg rolls. Will visit again!
It's ok; good flavor but very little spice to the food. Waitress should ask if a higher heat level is desired.
the service is horrible. the waitresses can’t even speak proper english and they are hard to understand. Also, people who ordered after us got their food before we did. one of the waitresses even spilled the pitcher of water on me.
