Thai destination offering up curry, noodle dishes & sushi in a historic Union Station building.
The most delicious Thai food that we have ever had ( and we’ve had a lot!) from the elegant dining atmosphere to the wait staff to the food itself and all the eclectic decorations this was an absolutely great decision to stop and eat here! We went at 3 which is considered the dinner menu. I’d like to come back and try their lunch menu too. The price was reasonable and a pleasant surprise. A plus is they are located near Riverfront Park and it was an easy walk to enjoy there after our delicious dinner. Thank you, Railroad Thai- we would definitely like to return!
The food was fabulous, but if you are in a hurry, this is not the place for you. There was a wait for the food because they only had 1 person making the sushi. The servers kept our glasses full and were very attentive. I feel like there were too many tables jammed into the dining room area.
We went to railroad Thai when we were on my work trip. The sign was not overly advertised which was not a big deal. They have a covered indoor parking in the back of the building so make sure to look for the signs “Lek’s parking”.
I ordered Panang chicken from lunch menu and it was lit! The food came with one spring roll and a cup of clear chicken soup. We were satisfied with the food and service. Will definitely go back.
Had take out 2 weeks ago and the food was terrible. Pad Thai and Pad See ew and the meat was beyond dry and tasted like rubber road kill. It’s usually really good. Went again tonight and the host didn’t speak one word to us. Held up two fingers and walked away. My wife and I looked at each other questioning whether or not we should follow. He threw the menus down and walked away. Still not one word spoken. Sat there for 5 minutes and left. The place seems to have gone down hill and customer service is non existent.
We enjoyed our experience for lunch today. We were from outta town and our friend recommended this location. We all had VEGAN plates which tasted good. The service was good and the facility was cleaned and organized. The bathrooms are outside the front door.
Pro tip: park around back of the building in the shade for free. There is also a bathroom outside in the parking lot.
Had to wait 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. We came to eat sushi.... They told us they were not serving sushi, but then made sushi for the table next to us. The beef in the beef and broccoli was rubbery. I'm very disappointed because we normally have such a great experience at this establishment. I can't say that I'll be back anytime soon.
Good food, nice people. Fast service. What more can you ask for?

The ginger entree, with your choice of protein, is outstanding. Fast service and reasonable prices.
Amazimg food, service, and atmosphere.

One of the better dinner spots in all of Montgomery. Good ambiance, efficient service, and staff did well handling a full house. Huge portions, delicious pad Thai. Highly recommend.
A Montgomery favorite. I go out of my way to visit!

This place was great! Fresh food and quick service! Portions were generous and delicious. My only complaint was a lady at another table complaining about everything. My wife and I found this place to be perfect for our Saturday afternoon along the river.
Beautiful restaurant. The food all tastes like a diabetic coma waiting. I see all these rave reviews and drove off the interstate to have lunch on our way to coast. Poor Montgomery needs real Thai because this was anything but wildly delish or even edible- our server could have cared less…..
Great
The lunch special was just terrible. The thai tea was good and the service was great.
Delicious pannang and basil roll
Great food!

Portion sizes are immense! Flavors out of this world!
2nd time visiting, but 1st bad experience after we have to wait almost an hour for our sushi. The explanation: we only have one chef making rolls. Maybe a heads up about longer wait time would have helped the situation.
Told water I had a seafood allergy. Didn't tell me that they crossed contaminated cook my spring rolls. They do not cater to people with seafood allergy.
We were visiting and looking for a spot to meet up with family, with options for both meat eaters and vegans. If you're not familiar with the area, this place is easy to miss. The sign outside is pretty small, and to make things trickier, it's tucked inside a building full of offices. After some wandering, we finally found it and were warmly welcomed.
Now, when we started checking out the menu, we noticed that vegan items weren’t clearly labeled, so we had to play 21 Questions with our server about the ingredients. He tried his best to answer, but it didn’t inspire much confidence—especially when I asked what a Thai punch was, and he said, “A punch made by Thai people.” I couldn’t tell if he was trying to be funny or just didn’t know. Unfortunately, the follow-up questions didn’t go much smoother.
But once we got our food, all was forgiven. The dishes tasted way better than I expected, so despite the confusing start, the meal ended on a high note.
This place will NOT disappoint!! I had the Massaman Thai….superb!! Hubby had the Poke Bowl….it was so fresh and a hefty portion too!! This will definitely be a stop for us when we are traveling through Montgomery, AL again.
A very good dining experience. Great atmosphere in a repurposed train station.
We love Lek's and visit regularly. The food and service are consistently very good, and we enjoy the restaurant's atmosphere and location.
Amazing food and great atmosphere!
Amazing employees who know their customers. If you like Thai, this is the place.
Over priced for run of the mill food.
Nice place. Food was good, but I have definitely had better thai food. Service was as to be expected.
Food selection is huge and it's ALL really good!! I highly recommend coming for dinner. The sushi selection is super long and well diverse.
Nice place to dine.

I went with a group. My food was a little dry, but great flavor. Everyone else loved their food, essentially the drunken noodles. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
This place was awesome!! Great atmosphere and servers were very attentive. Food was delicious and freshly made. Dessert was on point as well!! Definitely recommend!!
The worst Thai food I've ever had in 25 years. Pad Thai had a sweet plum sauce, no peanuts. Beef salad was dry with a drop of dressing. I asked for more dressing & Waiter refused claiming there wasn't any available. Chicken satay was boiled and drowning in a sweet sauce with no peanut sauce. Not worth $56.00!!!
Think twice! I have been dining here for years, but since new management, the service and food have gone down. It took forever for the appetizers to come out THEN I had to send COLD appetizers back, the entree came out lukewarm, and we were never offered a refill on our drinks. The waitress was not very good, she always messes something up! The last few times we ate there, she acted like she did not want to wait on us. I will not be dining there again and will tell all of my friends, family, and associates to steer clear!
The Thai salad, spring rolls and green curry were delicious! I asked for extra Thai spicy and they did not disappoint, it was spicy and delicious. The atmosphere was comfortable and the décor was nice. I asked for some vegan options and recommendations and they were helpful.
Came in for lunch, great options and service. Staff was friendly and the restaurant is clean. Not a fast meal, nor were we expecting it to be, but it was fantastic.
The service was horrible and the staff was extremely rude. My food was placed at the table and it wasn't what I ordered. I informed the server and he rudely removed the plate from the table. My plate came back and the food was extremely spicy. Also, we were the last party to sit and the last to finish. We heard a hostess rudely say, how people be sitting around don't want to leave. If you got the order correct the first time, you wouldn't have people sitting around. The service, food, and atmosphere was 0/10.
I started my visit to Leo’s online. When I got there and placed my to go order the staff informed me they didn’t have the items I wanted. I showed them the online menu and they informed me that it was an old menu. I had to decide on a new meal.
Delicious Thai and sushi. The atmosphere is beautiful with large ceilings and adequate seating. The staff is organized and respectful, however once your food is delivered you'll never see them again until your bill comes. Regardless, everything my party ordered came out fast, accurate, and absolutely delicious.
Awesome place for train lovers
Probably the best Thai food in the Chapel Hill and Carrboro area. Great portions, friendly staff and decor, and the food is generally very good. Definitely recommended. Parking can occasionally be challenging give the location, but have always gotten lucky
My wife is from Thailand, she said the food tasted similar from dish to dish. But she liked it overall.
Great place, great food and great service. Highly recommended!
Food was not authentic Thai. Pad Thai was soaking in teriyaki sauce. Fried rice dishes were OK, but nothing outstanding. Will not be going back.
We were with someone that was there a number of times before so they suggested certain things. Was delicious.
Good sushi.
This restaurant is highly understaffed, but the food made up for it. Recommend a jacket if you sit on the inside.
Tofu drunken noodles 10 out of 10.
There’s an amazing ambience to this old rustic place. Great selection of dishes and different flavors from a routine Thai place.
Pad thai was hard to eat. Overly sweet. I was really hungry, but I could only manage to eat half before throwing the rest out. Way too concentrated sauce--possibly both salt in addition to the sugar. Hopefully an off day, but enough to not want to try risking it again. If you're sensitive to this kind of stuff, I would not recommend.
The atmosphere is great and antique. I got the Red Curry 0/10 actually tasted like pee. My friend got the pineapple fried rice and it didn’t taste like anything. Sushi was good. Also got the desert lava cake. Came with no ice cream and was not melted. CHOCOLATE ON INSIDE IS COLD AND HARD. Service was also terrible. Spilled drink on one of my friends and was rude.
I went here with my coworkers a little while before Christmas. It was my first experience with Thai food and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Thai tea was definitely a new favorite. Beautiful decor and a great overall vibe, 10/10 recommend!
I've been eating at Lex's since I was thirteen. They have always priced amazing food and wonderful service.
Sushi and Thai food! It's located in the historic Union Station building. It's great!
Fantastic food. Very impressed with the value. Also the Sake was solid. Thank you for dinner. I am very pleased.
This place had delicious pad Thai and really yummy clay in a pot meal that my partner had . Would highly recommend this place the food is AMAZING. Came back today for the second day in a row
Nice food , love this 😍
The SPICY Thai Style Basil Chicken 🐔 is where it's at. Enjoy
Very happy!! We enjoyed the Thai not so much the sushi!! But it was all good!
Great food!
Food is always good. I almost don't want to write this but it's a good idea that you get there early, before 11:30, or wait until after 1pm, as it gets crowded a lot. They do have a great patio when weather permits. Been going there for 20 plus years. We had a huge family gathering for our wedding that the dates were mixed up. They somehow figured out how to cook for 90 people on a Thursday night when they thought it was supposed to be Friday night and only my wife, her mom and I were the wiser. Highly recommend this place. And it's better than the other Leks on the Atlanta Highway, which I only visited once and don't know if they're open there still. Last thing. If it says that the dish is spicy, that's no joke. I love spicy food but they really add some zip!
I did some kind of appetizer that consisted of unpeeled avocado, imitation crab, and shaved apple… all in a martini glass. It’s the most pointless thing I’ve ever been served. The entree was a bit better. Yikes.
Excelent place in Montgomery AL. Food is delicious, and prices better
Great food and service! Had a great time
Best Thai in the City. Fun location. Everything is on point.
Good food! A lot of the dishes may not be the traditional flavors of other Thai restaurants but they are very tasty.
The spring rolls were okay. Had the spicy chicken. Not too bad although the sauce was a little watery. The sushi 🍣 looked okay. Prices seemed reasonable. No military discount. Found that hard to believe so close to an air force base. They said they were losing $10k a month giving the discount. Not good enough for a return visit. Plenty of parking.
No substitutes!
Seafood rolls çok lezzetliydi.
15 minutes to get water after we were sat down. My food wasn't good never saw the waiter until it was time to give us a check. Didn't even ask about the food I didn't touch at all. How pathetic. If you've had pad Thai at any of a hundred restaurants or so this is nothing like any other one. Smells/ tastes like feet
Gorgeous Thai food, great lunch menu and fantastic price. The best meal I have had in many months. The subtle flavourings and quality ingredients are hard to find these days. Sadly I don't live in Montgomery or I would be here every week!
Food took long time to arrive.
Delicious, consistently!
Food was great had the chicken in a clay pot. They need at least one more wait staff, they had two large groups and could barely keep up with them and the other smaller tables. They did apologize for the delay. Love the building and train depot decor, will try them again sometime soon and see if it was just a off night.
Absolutely fantastic meal. The food was delicious, location perfect, and the building is gorgeous!
I had the sweet and sour chicken. It has tomatoes, onions, green peppers, carrots, and cucumbers with a red sweet sauce. It was great. The fried cheesecake was amazing! I recommend this place for anyone who wants a great meal at a great price.
Massaman curry was amazing. The spice level, chicken, and cashews was just perfect. The dumplings were a great appetizer.
I understand that the restaurant was very busy, but they were not serving people in the order they arrived (one we had sat down) . It was me and one other person, and 5 other groups with more people , and some with the same as us… got their food before us even though we were waiting for longer. We did not have a complicated order, the overall service was not great. Then the food was very mid (not all that great) the pad Thai had a very predominant vinegar taste which was interesting, I did not finish the meal. We waited for a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes. NOT worth the wait…Sorry.
Had a great experience at Railroad Thai. Slightly busy at 5pm on a Saturday but the service was still quick and great! Indoor and outdoor seating available right on the river. The restaurant is located in an old train station with amazing architecture. Spring roll appetizer was awesome. We got stir fry and curry. Both dishes were amazing and we were able to get extra rice with both dishes. Hot saké was free flowing. If you like spicy they can definitely ramp up the spice level. Enough food to have left overs. We are going to go back again before we leave the area. Thanks!
Great food, server could have checked on us more.
Great food, and the service is good!
On a business trip. Stopped by for lunch. Food was good, service was fast. Sorry didn't take any pictures.
Great service, okay food, good location that is convenient to other Montgomery activities. I had the massaman curry in restaurant and got some green curry to go. Both seemed to be made with too much water in the coconut milk, so the curry flavor was diluted.
Food was average, but the prices were high in relation to food quality.
Loved the chicken wings!
We love this restaurant. It's a great place to bring people from out of town or just dine with a friend. The food is always excellent. You might want to make a reservation for large group if 6 or more.
Great place!
Always a great experience
Such a gem. We stopped here on a road trip and the food was so delicious! Even with a big lunch rush, there wasn’t a long wait for the food. I recommend the pad see ew.
The food and service were top notch. We had a group of 18 people. Our cups were always full and food came out quickly. The portions were huge and the food tasted amazing. Will definitely be back.
Just real good food
Very good. Open when others aren’t. A welcome departure from the seemingly endless bbq and fried food in the city. I opted for my standard Thai litmus test of Drunken Noodles, medium spice. The spice level was legit, and the dish was very good with crazy big portion. I ate maybe 1/3. Easily shareable. Staff were friendly and available when I needed them, but otherwise left me to my meal. This definitely goes on my standing restaurant list for my numerous work trips to MGM. Recommend. (I save 5 stars for places that blow my socks off.)
We both ordered the Poke bowls and WOW!!! Excellent and full of flavor!!! We’ll be back!💕
Food was mediocre. Servers were very polite, but service was very slow. Expect to wait 20-30 minutes to close out your bill.
Yum
Great food, quick service, and very attentive staff.
Food was outstanding, cocktail decent too!
Service was slow, even before the dinner rush. Outside patio was very nice overlooking the train station.
Food was delicious but service was a little slow. But they did seem to be short staffed and had 3 very large tables seated and the patio outside was full as well so considering the situation they did great
The service was terrible 😔
Everything we've tried here is excellent. Fast and friendly service as well. Highly recommend.
Worst Masaman I’ve ever had. Chicken tough, cashews burned, sauce thin and bland with a peculiar taste, and even the rice was bad. Didn’t have avocados. Don’t know how they have stayed in business so long. It’s not hard to make a good Masaman.
Food tasted great but it was appetizer sized portions
