What a treasure this place is! Apparently they are famous for the baby egg rolls and I figured out why after trying them-they are super addictive! But the star of the show was the Panang Curry with chicken at medium heat. Hands down the best curry sauce I have ever had (I detect a hint of peanut-my other favorite sauce) and the crispy wide noodle bed was to die for. Not kidding when I say that this place is a treasure!
Went here Sunday since we were in the area and haven’t tried them out. Hubby ordered the Broccoli and Oyster Sauce with no spicy to it. Very flavorful and great presentation. I ordered the Pad Kherson Mao with level three heat. Nicely done! Never had wide noodles before and I can say now, they’re great! Surprised with complimentary Chicken and Rice soup. Service was quick and very polite. Love the decor. 😀
This has been one of my favorite restaurants for many years! The baby egg rolls are hands down my favorite—crispy, perfectly golden on the outside, and packed with a delicious blend of savory fillings inside. They’re the perfect start to any meal. The menu is full of delicious options but the fried rice is absolutely exceptional! It is full of vibrant flavors, vegetables and seasoned just right. I can’t wait to come back for more!
Ala Thai is a hidden gem for sure! My girlfriend and I have eaten there twice in the past five days. The food is absolutely amazing, the service is super friendly and effective, and everything is just right about this restaurant. Oh, and the prices! They are SO affordable…AND they give military discount! Ala Thai has become one of our go-to’s for sure!
This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years as the food is delicious. My friends and I frequent it. Now we are done. The restaurant that shares a wall hosts a dance party with strobe lights and extremely loud music and base. I had to eat with earplugs and the table decoration was vibrating. I raised it to the waitress who said they don't complain. I told her she would be losing business including mine if they allowed it. She shrugged (but is young and meek too). Owners should intervene. We are done here (until it is relaxing to eat in again).
One thing that I absolutely love about this place is that they were very accommodating and listened to the fact that I didn’t like onions. Our server was very aware and remembered these small details that people might not have remembered so A+ on customer service! I had the coconut curry with jasmine rice with protein being chicken. I 1000 recommend this dish. It’s so amazing very filling and you can pick your spice level. I got a spice level of two and it wasn’t very spicy, but it was a good enough kick. Highly recommend this place.😊😊 thanks to everyone.

Always satisfying with warm service!

This place is not authentic. Ground beef and rice. Who does that an Asian restaurant. The place is expensive for type of food it serves.
So good and friendly

My fav Thai restaurant in town! Check them out

Great food and service. One of our favorite Thai restaurants...
Walked in to order take out - chicken/rice soup & pad Thai. Told the woman taking my order that I would sit in my car and wait — and then come back in after 10 minutes to pick up. Less than 10 minutes later, she found me in my car and handed me my food! Completely unexpected, but so grateful for her kindness! Didn’t catch her name - but was on March 26 after 5p. Food, delicious as always. Nothing beats the soup!
Great food!
Not the best Thai. Go to a more authentic Thai restaurant if you want good food.
I thought this meal was price, For vegetable fried rice. I open the container I see a piece of lime,I think okay that's a different kind of garnishment. The rice is lighter than I like my fried rice so I put soy sauce on it. Tasted it 😋 and wow so good the lime flavor was awesome in it. Yea I'll be spending $14 for that fried rice.
My new favorite place in Montgomery to eat. I have Celiac and the chef and server were both very kind and accommodating. Today I had the basil with chicken lunch special and it was authentic, not too spicy and absolutely delicious. Our server was a friendly and a delight to talk to. It was a short drive off the interstate but totally worth it and a completely affordable lunch at about $15 each (plus tip). Fresh, Fast & Friendly!
I ordered the beef lard na and was excited until I got home and realized I spent 24 dollars for basically a small box of noodles and broccoli. If had ordered it for there I would have sent it back and left.
Ala Thai's Pad Woon Sen is a must-try dish for anyone who loves Thai cuisine. The stir-fried glass noodles were perfectly cooked and paired well with the fresh vegetables and tender chicken. The dish had a delicious savory and slightly sweet sauce that made each bite a delight. The portion size was generous and well worth the price. The service was excellent, and the ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming. Overall, I highly recommend Ala Thai for their Pad Woon Sen dish and look forward to trying more of their dishes in the future.
Perfection 👌
TOP Thai in Montgomery. This is a regular go to of mine. The Baby Egg rolls and Pad Thai are so good. Portion size will fill you up.
Not my first time at Ala Thai but it’s been awhile since they changed ownership. Since I’m pregnant and can’t handle spicy food right now it was great being able to choose the spicy level I wanted.
The crab angels were great, they have real crab in them. The chive dumplings are also amazing. The garlic noodles I got with chicken this time. I usually get them with duck, but that’s a little too greasy for me right now. This is my first time getting the Black Mushroom with Shrimp dish. It was ok, very fresh peppery taste. The papaya salad is a favorite of mine and I actually didn’t miss it being spicy. It’s just a really good salad.
If you’re on that side of town it’s a great place for lunch or dinner. Love that you can choose the spice level.
Calamari tasted like cheap sweet donuts. Didn't taste like calamari at all.
MIND BLOWN! ~ STELLAR FOOD! I've been to several Asian restaurants in Montgomery and this is by far the best! The food is made from scratch, the sauces too! Unreal how tasty their food is! ~ get the Green Curry, Potstickers, Chicken w Red Wine sauce, and Veggie baby egg rolls! GO THERE, you won't be sorry! 👏👏👏
Very Nice ,will be going back again.
Hidden gem in East MGM! Highly recommended, clean place, fresh ingredients, great taste, excellent portions/prices and very friendly staff.
Did not seem to be authentic Thai food, it’s watered down to American taste buds. Pad sew u flat noodle dish and curry dish were not as expected.
I come here a lot. This is the last straw. Their appetizer sauce for the egg rolls and etc is watered down. Food on two different entrees we're no flavor at all just texture. They're being so cheap with their flavoring.
GREAT FOOD & service. Sadly, one of your regular customers was allowed to sit and watch videos on her phone without using earphones. Your staff SHOULD NEVER allow this when others are present. This was such a ruinous experience due to this rude customer and YOUR acceptance of her crude actions that we're weary of returning.
Vegetable rolls are to die for. Always love the food, rama special
I stopped by for lunch because I haven't been here since they shrunk the restaurant. I thought about being adventurous but the lunch menu was kind of limited and I wasn't hungry enough for dinner portions. Just went basic with baby egg rolls and Thai chicken fried rice. Food was great and service too. The restaurant is cute but could get crowded during dinner rush
We had gotten take out and spent 100 dollars but when we got home there was barely any beef and broccoli.I don’t think it’s worth the money. It was more soup than anything.
BEWARE! ROACH INFESTED!!!
This restaurant appears to be clean. However there was a dead roach on my table. I asked the waiter if I could be moved to a different table instead. The waiter ignored me then proceeded to take my order. I moved to a table myself, and the manager came to the table then jokingly stated “roaches are all over Montgomery” IS THIS A JOKE? I’ve already called the health department on this company. Literally disgusting!
My papaya salad was Delicious but I was disappointed that the portion was soo small
Delicious!
The food was great and the staff was very friendly!
The pad Thai has changed officially. First it was very inconsistent and the chefs just can't get it together to agree on how it should taste. I personally think it's the #1 choice for Americans and new Thai food eaters to even try and to provide this new and not improved flavor it's going to slowly bleed out the business. Plus that would be extremely bad for the new managers. Stick to what works people...
Good food 95 points
For one it’s Caucasian people TRYING to make Thai food, and I get racist vibes honestly an all around bad experience.
It's not my style of Thai...I felt the noodles were over cooked and soggy....the staff is great. The cooking needs improvement
Fantastic food and service.Server suggested meal and was fantastic.
Oof… Don’t think it’s a huge mystery that Gump doesn’t exactly have the best thai, this being no exception
Not bad, but room for improvement. The menu lacks detail. For example, in one dish carrots were not listed on the ingredients and yet the dish was loaded with them. Spent 20 min. picking them out. The 89 health score also needs some work. Also, the drinks are in cans, and refills are not free. I like the staff and the food is alright, but it could definitely be better.
One of my favorite Thai joints out here in montgomery. Love the staff and the food is delicious!
Took my family for first visit in a while….the “Alai Thai Delight”…..was awesome as always!!
Love this place been going for years.
Our first time here, and wow! Ala Thai will be a regular spot for us as it was wonderful.
This is my favorite spot. Their panang curry is some of the best curry I have ever tried.
Did the owners change? Literally the absolute worst Thai food I’ve eaten in my life happened January 2022.
They told me 40 minutes for a take out order, no problem. I showed up 35 minutes later and the restaurant was empty and the food was cold. I guess they made it right after and let it sit?
My noodles were over cooked and had no chew, and the peanut sauce was closer to apple sauce which I have no idea who would even serve that?
I don’t know. I’d honestly trust Chef Boyardee to make better Thai food and it would have saved me $50. If you find yourself craving Thai on a Sunday, just wait for the better stores to open the rest of the week.
Probably the worst food I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the Ala Thai Delight and the spring rolls. The entree was just watery over cooked vegetables and the bean sprouts in the spring rolls were spoiled. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Good food but it makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE THAT TAKEOUT COST MORE than eating there!!
Ok so boom. The noddles taste like they seasoned them with tap water. The spicy options on the menu are mild. The service is slow. They are only getting one star because the calamari was good and the atmosphere looked nice. They cooked plain white rice very well. Yea, I won't be back.
Ps. My dog wouldn't eat the leftovers.
This is my favorite place in Alabama. I was having a bad day and thought hey! I should go back to . MY favorite Thai place get my coconut soup and fried tofu..... Only it says it's closed and now there is a sale sign.... Someone please tell me it's not so!
The “boss” is superrrrr rude. But can’t take the heat when somebody snaps back. You shouldn’t talk to nobody how you talked to me.
Went in only 3 tables was occupied so gentlemen told us to come in and have a seat and got our drink order sweet tea and water 25 minutes later no drink no service. I understand short staff but wow
Good food but I was a little disappointed. I wanted the Som Tam (Green Papaya Salad) normally eaten with Sticky Rice. NO STICKY RICE? The Pad Thai was good, but the flavor seemed slightly off from traditional.
Great service, food is prepared to order. Great fresh dishes lots of flavor.the menu has something for everyone's taste.
I use to go here as a child and Ala Thai was one of my favorite places growing up. Haven’t been in awhile and was looking forward to a great experience. Well was I in for a disappointment. I ordered the cucumber salad which was fine, but the pot stickers I ordered tasted awful. When I asked to change it for something else I was told I would still have to pay for them even though I had literally ONE bite because they had been brought to the table. I didn’t even want to eat a main course after that. I will not be coming back. From now on Leks Taste of Thailand will have my business.
My fav Thai place in Montgomery I sometimes have eaten there 2X a week ordering to go!
Great small restaurant for Thai food. The tom yum soup is super fantastic! All the food tasted great. You can bring your own bottles of wine and they will accommodate with glasses and a bottle opener. They have so many great selections it will be hard for you to choose which to have first. Great vegetarian options too! Worth a visit if you are in the area and enjoy Thai food!
My boyfriend and I went there last week and oh my goodness I felt like we were living high on the hog we had shrimp and chicken pad Thai and it was amazing. The complimentary soup was amazing. Everything we ate was high-quality, wonderful food and it was such a clean restaurant. the atmosphere was very comforting and the staff was so nice and courteous 😄
Had a nice experience here, the waiter is super friendly and he knows alot about the menu that they're serving. Social distancing is being practiced. Food was good. So, I asked for my meal to be spicy, and it arrived with bunch of diced red chillis on top of my dish. Hahaha. Not even mixed with the food itself. Anyway, both my husbund and mine's order was good and really tasty. I gave it 3 stars for 1 reason, because the dish was so simple and technically, you can prepare it at home. It has nothing special to it. Even their soup. It was just merely, broth, ground pork pieces, green onion, pepper and that's it. Sweet tea was good, husband said it was too sweet, but I like it. Just a nice experience, but same as other restaurants that I have reviewed, there's always a room for improvement here. Might come back to see what changed.
If I could give 0 starts I would. The customer service is awful. Today (03-23-2021) A friend and I called to place a to-go order. We called them close to the time they would open. She put me on hold because she trying to get someone else orders. I stayed on hold for about 20 mins so I just eventually hung up. After my friend and I left Sam’s I called back to try and place the order once again. This time she acted like she couldn’t hear me so I did speak louder and a little slower for her. Once I was telling her our order my friend wanted me to tell her no spicy. The lady rudely said “its does not have spice on it” then I was telling her my order and I said the same thing no spicy and she said the said thing ‘“its does not have spice on it either”. Regardless if it did or didn’t we are telling her we did NOT want it on there. We did mention to her the last time they put spice on the side. So we didn’t even want that. Then she proceeded to be smart by asking if we even needed spoon or fork. Then we called back to cancel our order because we DO NOT have to pay to eat somewhere for someone to be so RUDE to us. She said “okay and then hung up”. That’s not all she never had to call back and talk to the other girls where I work with about how we were being so rude. She was so unprofessional. That right there shows that she knows she was being very RUDE and disrespectful. I called back to speak to a manager so I could approach this issue with the manager. The lady would not time me when the manger would be in and was still arguing with me and then hung up in my face. I had to call back again. I cannot speak for my friends but I WILL NEVER EAT HERE EVER AGAIN. They have horrible customer service.
Great service and the best egg rolls in town.
The best Pad Thai ever. SMALL BUISNESS OWNER.
Best Thai food I've had since moving back from New Orleans
Truly authentic Thai restaurant with the best dishes I’ve ever had at any Thai restaurant from the west coast to the east coast. You can’t go wrong dining in or take out at Ala Thai East.
Ordered Pad Thai, they used the wrong type of noodles. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t Pad Thai.
Intimate atmosphere, great food, excellent service and good conversation.
Always great food. And the Thai Custard is amazing. Great service also.
Our waitress was superrrrrr nice, first time there can’t wait to come back!
Nice people...bland thai food! I tried this restaurant for the first time...no need to ever return, sadly. I'm accustomed to very flavorful thai...this pales in comparison. :-(
Staff is unaware of menu choices. I called in for a pick up order for the Thai sweet and sour sauce with my protein choice being tofu which is clearly stated on their menu but I was told that they in fact did not carry that. Please either update your menu or educate your staff. Bad customer service.
The food tasted nothing like Thai food I have had. I will not be patronizing this business anymore.
Great place for Thai food. Don't ask for chop sticks.
WARNING...Check your food before you leave the restaurant. Had a negative experience here this past weekend. Made it home, there was an item in my food that I requested them not to put in there because of food allergy. Whicch made the food inedible for me. Hubby bit into a small pebble that was in his Pad Thai Classic. Call Ala Thai immediately. Owner says she has no idea how a pebble got in the food because "they cook in a wok...not a flat top so it's impossible". Then I tell her about the food allergy ingredient, She then says hold on...to talk to the cook. I'm assuming, to verify what I was saying...as if I were lying. Then comes bk to phone and says "I will refund your money back to your card and replace your whole order at your convenience ". Called today to redeem. Owner does not acknowledge saying such. Guy says he was given "orders" to remake ONLY the chicken fried rice because " that's the only thing they messed up on".So she basically lied. Needless to say, no one in my family will be patronizing this restaurant ever again. I will take my hard earned money elsewhere. People say shop local...but why...when most have no sense of consistency, customer service or appreciation. Go to Lek's where you will get good customer service. I would give zero stars if that were an option.
The prik king and coconut curry were phenomenal. I do not write reviews. They are absolutely worth my time to show them appreciation! Let’s keep them in business please - I don’t live near, but will absolutely stop in when I’m passing through!!
This is my favorite place to eat in Montgomery!!!
Food is amazing, everything on the menu. You can't go wrong with anything
Wonderful experience everytime i go there.
Best Thia in Ala
Went over and picked up dinner! These people never disappoint!! I got the Thai Omelet! It is awesome! I normally get duck but thought I would try the beef and it was great!! Please go by and help support these great people!!
Support Local! Stay Safe!!!
Food pretty good
The soup and atmsphere were good.
Great place to have lunch. Food was fast, Curry tasty and sized nicely. I only wish the curry and rice were served in a single dish.
One of my fave restaurants in Montgomery!
Great
Great as always.
Good food, good service
If you like Thai cuisine, you will LOVE Ala Thai !!! Their Pad Thai Classic is my favorite.
Visiting from out of town and LOVE thai food so we cane after seeing high reviews on the internet. The waiter was so kind. He was understaffed but informed everyone and kept checking back with people on their to go orders. The food was actually still quick and VERY good. The waiter really made the visit enjoyable. Wish we could come back!
Small, cozy dining room. Friendly staff. Awesome food!
Great Thai Food
I have been going there for years, love the former owners & the food. Haven't met the new owner!
Great place
Went in today, seated myself. After waiting 7 minutes, no one came to the floor. Only three tables being served...poor, poor service.
The Tom Yum and Tom Kha soup is very good, and the service is always friendly. We've had curries and noddle dishes and it's always great. The spice levels are just right for me at normal, but they'll make it as mild or hot as you want. Always willing to accommodate my vegan friends as well! Couldn't recommend it enough!
Always delicious!
Good Thai food in Montgomery. Food was great, a little slow that day for a to go order, but over all I liked it.
House soup was fantastic! Large enough portions to share family style and everything we tried was great. Glad we found this spot travelling thru town.
The food isn't too bad.
Love this place.
Great service. They will cook your food to even suit dietary restrictions. Vegan and keto friendly.
I love this place. The family run business has great food and service is excellent.
Really good food. Nice people
This is by far one of my favorite restaurant to eat at the food is always scrumptious if you are looking for something to eat that is different from your usual this will most Definitely be the place to choose
Never been sorry
Our go-to dinner spot. Start with the super-fresh Thai Rolls, and with new menu, love the Massaman Curry with beef. Jimmy, the owner, is so friendly and helpful with the menu. Love this place!
No. Nope. I went in the middle of the day. Ordered Spring rolls and Thai Basil Rice. I asked if the particular rolls were fried. I was told yes...they were not.
I also received the smallest portion of food at a dinner or lunch price. There was maybe 3/4 cup of rice and the Beed didn't even fill up the bottom of the to go container.
My order was to go and I didn't check there. When I called about it. I was told they have never had complaints before. No resolution just...I wont be back.
Best Thai anywhere
Good food love the staff always friendly
Very cozy, quiet dining; great little place for a date night. My favorites are the Pad Thai Classic and the Seafood Delight. Deducted one star due to the decor getting a bit dated, but still completely recommended.
Great!
Food was not as good as before.
Some of the best tasting, most authentic Thai food we have ever had! The starter soup of cilantro and rice was amazing and the Pad Thai and Thai Basil were incredibly flavorful! Will be back often!
One of my favorite thai places! I happily drive 45 minutes since I moved away to get the pad thai and baby egg rolls!!!
The food is always good and you honestly can't get better service anywhere!
Very good authentic food
Need a sushi chef!!!
The food was good but didn't seem very authentic. The atmosphere was a little different than most Thai places I have been even though the menu was very similar. The waitress was very helpful and kept the refills coming. I had the Pad See Eiw and the flavors were good but I left a little hungry. I guess I will need to get an appetizer next time!
I WENT TO FIREHOUSE BUT THIS POPPED UP ITS GREAT ANYWAY GO EAT
Excellent food, friendly people!! Best Thai food I've eaten
Came here as visitor to Montgomery service was great place was clean and well decorated. Food was so-so a little disappointed. Overall good experience
Really great Thai Food. This place is a must at least once a week.
Not bad food and quick.
Excellent Chicken Coconut Curry and hot Jasmine tea.
Great food! Excellent service. Love this place.
Always excellent...love their spring rolls and Pad Weu Sen with chicken. Great service.
Great service and food!
It's very hard to make a curry taste good with 5/5 spice (let alone get a place that actually gives you a 5/5 spice that forces you to eat slow, clears your sinuses, and makes your eyes water), but this place succeeds.
Fantastic food. Jimmy will take excellent care of you. Get the lunch special Pad Thai Classic with soup. Order the appetizer sampler ... YUM!!!
As usual, the service and food were great!
