My wife and I stopped for dinner. Inside has a nice feel, and service was prompt.
We started with the spring rolls, which were very good. For dinner, I tried the Pad Kee Mao with seafood at a #2 out of 5 spicy levels. It was very good as well. My wife had the Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken, which was HUGE, but she enjoyed some of it, lol.
Overall, it was a good experience I'd recommend if you're nearby.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at *Fern* in Seattle, and I have to say, it exceeded all of my expectations! Coming from Chicago, where the food scene is top-tier, my standards are pretty high—but Fern truly delivered. From the moment I sat at the bar, I knew I was in good hands thanks to Bryan the bartender, who was absolutely phenomenal. His recommendations were spot on—he guided me to the perfect dish on the menu and paired it with an amazing cocktail that elevated the whole experience.
The atmosphere was inviting, the food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. I’ve had my fair share of Thai food, but Fern offered something truly special. Whether you’re a Seattle local or just passing through, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return and experience it all again!
A desert in your mouth ~ was very excited to visit this place for brunch but was rather disappointed in the food. The ricotta pancakes and the ube toast were both extremely dry. I drenched the pancakes in 2 shots of syrup & it was still dry; to the point it crumbled when cutting it. The Ube toast felt like it was regular white (toast bread) that was just toasted a bit & then they added the ube on top. The wagyu was underwhelming at best as well. It was mere shadow of what it is supposed to be, a loco moco. The best part of the meal was the fries it came with it. The bacon was also actually seasoned pork belly.
In the plus side: the lemonade was delicious! Very sweet - so not sure if that’s everyone’s cup of tea but I loved it!
The servers were also very professional and lovely!
I’d come back here to try their drinks maybe but definitely not for food :/.
i had really high expectations for this location since i’m a big fan of their other location in bellevue. i only got take out, but i gotta say it exceeded my expectations! the pad thai was as good as ever, and we also got the duck curry and eggplant salad. every dish had the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, savory, and fish sauciness (lol). will try dine-in next time!
I absolutely loved this Thai place, it’s very beautiful inside and I appreciate a good atmosphere for a dine-in experience. The server was attentive. The dishes were served quite fast. The flavors were unbelievable. Holy Basil with chicken 10/10. Crispy garlic chicken 10/10. Got a Thai tea to go which was also great. Can’t wait to come back soon.
I recently visited this fancy Thai restaurant with great decorations, nice ambience and beautiful food presentation. The service was also very nice. However, the food we tried was not really good. The roasted duck (in curry) was too hard and dry. I have had better roasted duck at other places. The beef in our Tom yum soup was also hard and chewy. Overall, I was not impressed with the food at this restaurant. I would still visit the place for a small group gathering, but not for the food.
Friendly service, and lovely atmosphere with plenty of seating and gorgeous decor. We were a large group so called in advance, and the servers were very accommodating even though our group size had changed. The food was pretty good, but nothing special.
The seafood salad was tasty and fresh, but very small.
Sweet and sour chicken was well done, and the chicken was flavourful and moist, however this main does not come with rice, and it needs to be ordered on the side.
The Pad Thai was a little disappointing as it was more bitter than I’m used too, and a little dry. It came with fancy plating (leaves and giant utensils) but these things were neither useful or edible. There are many better pad Thai’s in the city.
Overall we had a great experience and loved the space, but the food was just okay.
I came tonight to try the Tom Yum because I have heard great things about it. The waitress brought me Tom Kha, which I don’t prefer. It was very tasty, but I wish I could have tried the soup that I ordered tonight.
I checked the menu on the official website and Uber Eats before ordering, to look for a note that rice may not be included with curries. No such note. Ordered a curry and it came with no rice. I even tipped well. Disappointing. The panang curry is good tho, so 2 stars.
Be assured that you will go hungry, frustrated, disgusted and will end up with huge charge for no food, bad customer service and bad behavior and no delivery of food. everything is pathetic and they loot customers with ridiculously high charges for the food that you didn’t even get to eat.

Wonderful place for a quick bite to eat during lunch or a filling dinner after a long day at work. Sit down and order an excellent pineapple fried rice and select from a good wine selection or a fantastic Thai iced tea. Service is amazing and I have never waited for a table.
They brought me sticky rice (that I paid extra for) in a plastic bag that it was cooked in. The rice was also poorly cooked - hard and crispy in the middle and could not be broken apart, even in the curry. Plus waitress got my order wrong (brought tofu not chicken).

The food is fresh and so delicious. Avocado Curry is amazing!
The food wasn’t just bad it was horrific. Ordered the mango salad and chicken panang curry. The mango salad looked like it was someone else’s leftover as it looked like a half portion. The calamari in the mango salad wasn’t fresh. The curry was terrible. This is the only Thai place that doesn’t use basil on their curry. Lacked flavor, very salty, and small portion size. It was also very very soupy curry. I should have ordered the tap water because Capitol Hill tap water has more flavor than the curry here.
Also a salad and a curry (no rice) was $36. Completely unreasonable. I should have known it was no good when there was only 2 tables on a Sunday lunchtime.
Great pad see ew! They were able to make it vegan
Definitely avoid if you’re in a hurry. I ordered online and received a confirmation text my order would be ready in 12 mins. I arrived a bit later than that and still had to wait approx 20 more mins, with no apologies or explanation of any kind. There were only 2 tables seated, so it wasn’t due to a rush. It seems they didn’t start my order until I got there, which really defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. The woman behind the bar (12/22 @ 9:30pm) was quite rude from the jump, though the rest of the staff was very friendly.
As for the food, the cucumber “salad” was mostly vinegar water- it was more like a cold vinegar soup, with roughly 3-4 tablespoons of floating chopped cucumber- I would skip it if you go.
The entree portion was small for a noodle dish. I have a small appetite and can rarely finish much more than half an entree, but I was wishing I had picked up desert after finishing the salad and entree. I expected more from the food and service for $30.
Food is great and so is the atmosphere. The Kow Soi is one of the best dishes I've ever had period.
Big portions, enough to take home! Everything they make is delishhhh
Heaviest door I’ve ever encountered
pull HARD on the door
This place is 10/10. Delicious Thai food, friendly service, and great atmosphere. My friends and I are regulars and this is one of my favorite dinner spots in Seattle.
great! good food! good environment!
The moment that you walk in and you're greeted was it for me. Then they tell you about the house specials thank y'all
TOM YUM IS INCREDIBLE!!!
Food and service were good, but the building has a weird air pressure issue every time someone enters or leaves, my ears would pop. Can't imagine working there.
Came here tonight with our longtime friends who live in this area. The food is authentic and delicious. Our server, “S”, recommended dishes we had not tried before. One was their Holy Basil with ground pork - a perfect complement to rice. The brown rice was nutty and flavorful- very different from what I’ve had before. Tom Kah soup was a coconut milk based with chicken and we order a heat profile of “3” just the right amount of heat. Highly recommend!
Best pad see ew I’ve eaten (including in Thailand) and really good strong ginger ale
Probably the best Thai food in Capital Hill. Food has always been consistent and the drinks are excellent. It can be a bit much with the crowds at times, but it's pretty on brand for places like this in the area.
Delicious curry, fun atmosphere, great service
Really bland but artfully presented pad Thai.
Standard Thai food but flavorful
Everything was so tasty! The restaurant is in the middle of such an expensive area, but this one is good considering the quality of the food.
Some of the yummiest Thai food in Seattle. I love this place and have been many times. I highly recommend. All the classics are really good.
There are many other Thai places in the city much better. I would not recommend and would not go back. It was kinda of a bummer because everything else about it was cool.
Was looking for a good Thai place since moving to Seattle from Jackson Hole which has some of the best restaurants in the country.
This place did not disappoint! The service was great food was delicious and the relaxed atmosphere was perfect. Living very close to this place I will definitely be coming back here!
My wife and I stopped for dinner. Inside has a nice feel, and service was prompt.

The food is great and the space is nice. I go here regularly and it never disappoints.

Dined in 30 minutes before closing , staff was very kind and welcoming about it! Food was amazing, spice level was on point! Would definitely visit again.
Food is OK but better Thai in Issaquah. Fresh rolls were anything but fresh (stuck together) with bad peanut sauce. Noodle were good but too heavy with oil. Service was a mixed bag... hostess and main server indifferent (almost finished food before beer arrived) but rest of the staff was good. Ambiance is good. Expensive for quality.
service was great. they got my calimari out quite quickly despite a 9 person party. ordered the pad see ewe and it was very well done except for one thing- VERY salty. it was a struggle to finish the meal, not due to flavor or quantity, but simply due to the overload of salt. this place would be a 5 were it not for the excessive salt; perhaps my taste is not refined for this cuisine but it was a bit disappointing. overall great though
Interior had a lovely vibe, a bit noisy but not overly so. Food was delicious, nothing I would rave about but perfectly serviceable.
It's on the higher side in terms of price, but Fern Thai has the most flavorful Thai food in Seattle. I like that their dishes have a little extra something - even the banana leaf garnish on their pad Thai is a welcome and refreshing addition. It's my go-to restaurant when my friends and I don't have another specific place in mind to go to.
Choo Chi Salmon was excellent!
Insanely good food and expansive menu!! Had my favorite Kua Kling which I rarely find in Thai restaurants these days. Service was great as well, especially as we came relatively close to closing. Lots of options for dietary restrictions as well
Best Thai cuisine I've ever had!
good Thai fried rice! I do wish it was spicier and a little less subtle in flavor but all in all I enjoyed.
We’ve been going to their sister restaurant (Chaiyo in Northgate) for eight years and Fern is fun because it’s a different type of Thai food experience! The vibe is beautiful and the cocktails are great and most importantly, the food is YUMMY!
Everything about Fern Thai is outstanding. Portions are shareable and delicious. This restaurant is our favorite place for a consistent good meal.
Ordered delivery thai fried rice with chicken x2. Spicy level 2 (very tolerable if you like a little spice but dont want to sweat while eating) and level 4 (if you like very spicy, this is probably mild for you). The portion size was great, there was a good amount of chicken in the rice & I had leftovers the next day. Great flavour to the rice & chicken. I will definitely return for this dish again during future trips to Seattle.
Great food, great vibes, great service, great location.
Food was good and pretty authentic. Expensive but it’s downtown so :)
A nice quiet place. Very good Tom yum and tom kha. The cocktails were really excellent too.
best khao soi I've had in Washington. the chicken was tender and well cooked. the noodles are flat and exactly what I like. the flavor was phenomenal. I got a 3/5 spice and it was spiiiiiicy so be careful. if youre unsure, dial it down.
the staff was attentive and super kind. we showed up at 8 and had no wait for two. yummy food, great staff, nice atmosphere. maybe the music was a bit loud to hold a conversation but overall, wonderful experience. thank you!! 🥹
Kinda mid tbh. Food is pricey but not too crazy for the area. Got the Thai fried rice and it was good.
Food and service are both subpar.
Terrible service. Staff ignored our table for so long. The place was pretty empty for a Saturday night, yet they took +25 min to come take drinks order, and even longer for food order…
Fantastic experience: delicious food, desserts and drinks. Great atmosphere, will definitely be back!
a bit pricy for the money but all and all okay
Good vegan options, tofu was actually insanely good (and I’ve had a lot of tofu). Spice level is spicier than most American Thai restaurants
Great thai food and the cocktails look really good!
Fern benefits from location, staff, and food experience seem to take it all for granted, or at least in half-hearted kind of a way. It wasn't bad food or rude service. Just a big fat "it was OK" consensus from our group. We have appetizers and (3) different mains, so it's a pretty good sample. One was even the specialty of the house.
Your experience might be miles better and just got an off night.
We wish them success.
We ordered from this restaurant multiple times through delivery apps, and even tho its delivery the food never disappointed us. Today, we went for dine instead, and the place is really nicely put together. We loved the atmosphere and on theme decor. The food is even better if you dine in. Would recommend 10/10
Beautifully decorated. Warm and efficient service. Enjoyed the food and the music...
I got the Pad Ki Mao here, with pork
starting off with the base of the noodles, I thought it was pretty good for the most part. the noodles were soft, oily, and served their purpose.
they were also coated pretty well by all the spice and the other sauces involved
however, i found the pork to be pretty disappointing - there were a good amount of pieces, but it was insanely dry, to the point where I wasn't
even actually sure if it was pork or not. the pork actually tasting good would've made this dish so much better
i don't really have much to say about the egg or the vegetables - they were pretty good, but not super noticeable
one thing i really liked here was the spice level. I got 4/5 stars, and honestly I wasn't expecting that much, but it really surprised me how spicy it actually was.
It also didn't feel like spice just for the sake of spice either - the chili was well-integrated with the overall noodles, and it produced a really good flavor overall.
props for willing to put this amount of spice on 4 stars
the price was fine - ended up being around 20 dollars a person - slightly on the expensive side but not overly so. the portion size was actually quite large, impressively.
i managed to finish the whole thing but it took some effort
Overall, a solid flavor base that left the pork quite lacking. 7.75/10
They are trying to be a fancy upscale restaurant but serve normal Thai food. Portions are kind of small.
Came there at 10:10 and the sign said "open" and it says closes at 11 on the door too, but alas they said they were closed...either update Google or stop picking and choosing when/who to serve.
Food was great and I loved the decorations.
Excellent food.
Amazing food, atmosphere, and service
We went as a group. The food was fine, and portions were big. I especially enjoyed the Tom Yum soup, it is nice that they ask and adjust difference spiciness levels. Waiters were unpleasant for some reason. Music was too loud
Amazing vibe and excellent service.
The best part is it’s open till late.
Great cocktails and mesmerizing taste. Perfect to get authentic Thai
Food is always amazing here. Would honestly say it’s my go-to spot for Thai cuisine. Staff can be quite slow at times but are generally very nice and accommodating. Atmosphere is chill but the decor is lush and vibrant.
Great food! Excellent Tom Yum, Tom Kha, Pad Kee Mao, really everything. The flavor is really there and the food is fresh. Worth it.
I ordered a tofu pineapple fried rice. The rice itself had a nice flavor from the yellow curry, but it was a bit mushy. On top of that, it was advertised as coming with 'carrots and peas' but there was only a single miniscule piece of carrot to be found as seen in the picture, which was disappointing.
Any other Thai food place i have been is better than this. My "pad see ewe" was VERY Salty with overcooked veggies. my fresh rolls was only wrap lettuce with NOT very tasty peanut sauce, the fried chicken was very salty and very dried, curry was good but it was too runny and no consistency. i think for what i paid i think it was a steal. I DO NOT Recommend this place!
Absolutely delicious, highly recommend! The absolute cutest decor as well.
Service is okay, food is good but could be better.
We ordered two curries and the pad thai dish. The curries came with no rice and there was no notice of this on the website, and the pad thai wasn’t very flavorful. I don’t usually leave reviews but this was disappointing given the ratings of this place, we’ll stick to our usual Thai place next time.
This restaurant is the worst Thai restaurant in capital hill, do not order panang curry it’s watered down and tasteless. Service at fern is horrible and they make you feel like they are mad because you are getting food there. Waited 30 min for 1 dish after suggested pick up time on the website. My wife got sick from the food we ordered from here, she had cold sweat and headache and diarrhea she had to miss work the next day. If you want to try the best in capital hill go eat at bai tong.
Another incredibly mediocre restaurant in Seattle. Fern Thai has a great ambiance and fun music. The food was OK but it just wasn't good enough to make me want to come back.
Very quiet when we went (which is great). Pad Thai is delicious!
Food here is excellent, so I’ll keep coming back. However, our server was extremely rude. All of the other servers seemed to be working so hard and were so nice to us even tho we weren’t even their table. The lady who sat us down was kind as can be. Our server was clearly on her phone and looking at us like we were annoying to her. We asked why the food was taking so long and she said she’d check but then went back on her phone and talking to co-workers, and 15 more minutes passed with zero follow-up. Luckily a gentleman (I think he was a manager) took care of us and ensured we got our food soon after and he made it right. I understand servers have bad days but there is no excuse for such hostility and blatant rudeness. Her name was Vanessa (according to the receipt). I hope she doesn’t treat all of her customers like she did us.
A very nice setting and layout for well prepared traditional Thai food. The cocktails were delicious. As far as food was concerned, the drunken noodles were the best I've ever had. The other dishes we ordered, salmon, cod, and pork belly, were also very good. We appreciated the server confirming the amount of spice we wanted in our food. A "2 level" spice provided nice flavor and residual without the burning sensation.
Customer service was excellent, and the food was good! I tried the Thai Iced Tea, crispy fried tofu and Pad Thai.
So enjoyed our experience and the food and drink. Made a reservation with ease on the phone, was warmly welcomed, treated with attentiveness and the food was great! The atmosphere is fabulous. Pricing was reasonable in this time of rising costs. Will definitely be back! Also right on #2 bus line.
I just noted a review that this is a "sketch part of town". Those statements are all relative, but i offer that this is very safe place in town (30 year resident).
How Fern doesn't have 5 stars I do not understand... Me, and at least four of my co-workers here at Supergenius Tattoo order from them every single week. Twice a week for some of us.
I have never in my life had Sweet & Sour Chicken knock my socks off... and last week, it was the Garlic Lovers with chicken! Mind blowing. The homies get the Crispy Garlic Chicken religiously- and I've devoured the Phad Thai, and Pad Kee Mao as well.
The flavor is absolutely sensational, every time.
(and the S&S, and Garlic Lovers, and Phad Thai, are gluten free!)
Absolutely wonderful dining experience - perfect food, wonderful service, and marvelous ambiance - Fern is our favorite Thai restaurant in Seattle ❤️
At Fern Thai, the Som Tum and Pad Thai were flavor explosions – authentic and delightful. The whole red snapper stole the spotlight, crispy and delicious. The place is welcoming, and the service is as friendly as your favorite neighbor.
Only hiccup? The sticky rice was a jaw workout, tougher than solving a Rubik’s Cube. Other than that, I would definitely recommend Fern Thai! 🌶️🍜🐟
*went through today at lunch, friendly, no issues.
Excessive wait time for dinner delivery. Waited patiently (the whole time). 5 min wait time before greeted. Then they said 5 minutes. Nothing for quite a while. Asked again, then they said 20. It's ok to get a little behind, but communicate to the people that support you. It burned the last good hour of work getting there from the last drop-off on beacon hill, then to home not far away. I was compensated $4 from my employer for waiting excessive wait times then given no more orders. 20F degrees outside.
This place was great. It had a nice atmosphere- cool design and comfortable lighting. The food was delicious and the service was great. My only complaint is that they were extremely fast with the food- to the point where what would have been a nice relaxing dining experience turned into a fast food outing. Considering the beautiful environment they create, the careful plating and inventive cocktails, I think making a considerable effort to slow things down and allow each course to be finished before bringing out the next one would dramatically improve the experience. Had things been slowed down to a speed less akin to drive through fast food, we also would have easily spent another 30-60$ on drinks, and our entrees would have been hot still when we got to them.
My friend and I had lunch at Fern and we both agreed that it was some of the best Thai food we have had in Seattle. Everything was fresh and flavored well. The service was outstanding, the space was clean, and the atmosphere beckoned us to linger in conversation. We had the Pad Thai with tofu, Yum Neau salad, and the Holy Basil with chicken. All of it was delicious. We only ordered so much food because we couldn't choose between just two things. Plenty of leftovers for another meal.
A bit on the pricier side for Thai (esp with so many options) but their flavors and atmosphere are a step above. Def check this place out if you’re a fan of Thai.
The Massaman lamb shank with roti melted my brain. The flavors were so rich and wonderful, I haven’t found anything this good at any Thai place in the city.
Drinks were mid. You def get some variety, but I also wasn’t impressed by anything I tried.
Everyone in a party 6 enjoyed what they got, so that’s a high hit rate. Worth visiting and I’ll def be back.
I love the food, a bit pricey but it's worth it. The service is great and the drinks are delicious.
Nice Thai food place, food is fresh great spice and gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. The music is a little loud but we enjoyed the food. They have a full bar with mock drink options as well. It was packed and seating was easy to get as walk in, waitress was nice.
Really fancy looking spot in a somewhat "sketch" part of Seattle. You walk in and you're met quickly and taken to a table if it's not too busy. I liked how they had a basket for you to put your umbrella in.
The reason for the 3 stars was that Thai food has never been my thing (a good friend suggested this) and the Moo Hong didn't impress me. It tasted like the pork belly was braised in pho! The rice also was a little too mushy to my liking.
Food great, service interesting. Appitisers came out before the first round of drinks were out
Ordered the lamb shank dish with 1-spice level. (I made sure this wasn’t a dish they said couldn’t be made not spicy) but when we tasted it, it was even spicier than another dish that was ordered at 3-spice level.
They also completely forgot our rice.
Incompetent. No quality control. Avoid this one.
Very cute restaurant, fresh veggies used in the vegetarian dishes, which was a breath of fresh air so to speak. This was a wonderful dinner spot, I highly recommend the pad see ew!
This is my second time however the food was okaish. I ordered Crispy Chicken and duck curry for the night but both were okaish. I have been to their Bellevue branch which is ❤️ but I got disappointed. The server got us the check when we were still eating. Not a good experience overall. Could be a single night experience but I would rather go to other restaurants in Caphill 😂.
Really aesthetic vibe from the decor to the plating and presentation. The Rangoons were really good and so was the Pad Thai.
This restaurant was extremely cute and is located in a great area to walk around in. The service is great and while our server was able to make great recommendations off of the menu we were slightly disappointed that even the more expensive entrees were a la carte and regular white rice was an up charge. The chicken dishes were amazing but the Thai Fried Rice w/ prawns left a lot to be desired. The ambiance was very nice and the cocktails were excellent. They scored bonus points for being open earlier in the day than anything else around which is how we stumbled upon them.
Really love the food here, but the spice level is so inconsistent it makes it really hard to order. I've ordered everything from 0-3 star of the same dish over a dozen times and I never know if I'm going to get something with 0 heat or if Its going to be borderline inedible due to how spicy it is. It makes me really disappointed since I love the flavors there, but just wish there was some consistency across chefs for food spiciness.
I don’t normally leave bad reviews but the food here was truly foul. The chicken wings were decent but my salmon had the texture of a latex glove. It was nearly inedible and not cheap either.
Ordered the crispy garlic chicken and I needed a chainsaw to chew through it. Aside from the texture being rock hard and resistant to my fork even being able to penetrate the vitrified exterior - once you got inside there was only small scraps of chicken if any. Extremely bland as well. By far the worst Thai food I have ever had.
Loved the experience here, just the right amount of spiciness, highly recommend, the waiters and hist were great and the vibes were immaculate, a wonderful date idea
We came here looking for Isaan food (North Eastern Thai )after a week of mediocre food on a cruise. Anyhow the dining room is lively, fun music, energetic staff, good cocktails and amazing food. We had Somtom (Lao style Plahrah). It was super spicy and on point for flavor. Alongside the somtom we also ordered moo dat dip (sun dried pork), Isaan and (what??) Chiang Mai sausage, regular and black sticky rice that was cooked properly and not the lazy way in a rice cooker. We were stuffed but wanted to try to the Phat Thai, which normally we never order in a US restaurant. However, the Phat Thai boran (classic style) was great and tasted as it does in Thailand. All in all a great experience. If we lived Seattle, we would eat here often.
I love this place. I always have the choo chee salmon and it never disappoints. The cocktails and mocktails are always really yummy.
Beautiful, open, unique interiors, and quite lively for a Monday night. They served a surprisingly balanced and depthy sweet and sour vegetable dish. Many restaurants go too sweet or sour. The roti was good too, had nice char. The service was alright, we got our food after many other tables who were seated after us.
I'd go back for the vibe and good quality food.
Any of the entrees with extra meat & extra veggies is practically 2 meals. Best Thai in cap hill. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they don’t close the lids to the takeout all the way.
Arrived about 10PM on a Sunday, they were open until 11 that night. Started with some Spring Rolls and Thai Iced Tea while we digested the menu. My companion had the Pad Thai, while I had... some indecision. I asked the server for a recommendation and she asked me some questions (rice or noodles, curry or no, etc.) and then recommended the Holy Basil, which I got with chicken and a side of rice. Great service and great food. The atmosphere was relaxed, probably because we were there so late on a Sunday, so I don't know if it would be that way at another time or day.
I was on a business trip in Seattle and found myself in this warm cozy restaurant. The food was amazing and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the meal! Service is top-notch!
Great Thai food
That pananag yeau nang; haven't encountered such a great steak dish since
Terrible service, trying to take our plates while still eating from them. Multiple times. Getting the bill have way through. We sat for less than an hour for a reserved dinner and were pushed out after 45 min by multiple waiters. Excellent food though.
I’ve never written a review before, however this was place was so bad I don’t want anyone to suffer how I did. it’s overpriced considering how small the portion is, I order veggie pad see ew spicy level three, and what I got what just plain EW! What I got was mainly vegetable with only two noodles, and it wasn’t spicy whatsoever; for context I like to have Serrerano pepper on the side with my meals. Also my food was badly burnt. I had to throw it away was barely edible This place caters to those who don’t care for authentic Thai flavor. If you want to disappoint your tastebud I would recommend this place. I personally will never ever come here even if my life depended on it. There are so many better Thai restaurants.
Meh. I’ve had better. I’ve had worse. It’s middling and good enough. Great space though.
Good food, decent prices, kind wait staff, really cute atmosphere! Would recommend to fans of Thai food
Excellent tasting food, but very small portions. Service was excellent on a Tuesday night, but even though there were only six customers there I could barely hear the person across my table because the music was loud-loud enough to make it feel like a bar on a Friday night. 🔊
Have been many times to the bellevue location but this one is good not great. Food can be hit or miss but overall a nice time. Tom Yum Soup is always great
One of the best beef curries I've ever had. Beef was tender and delicious instead of being tough. 3/5 level spicy was nice, couldve probably gone spicier. Highly recommend
Overhyped is the one word I would use to describe this place. The food, the spice outweighs the flavor. Typical I like 4 stars, spice when enjoying Thai. Here, it would appear that they are relying on the heat to carry the dish and not the flavor. The decor is trying too hard. It's all over the place. Maybe they want to distract you from the food.
Decent atmosphere. Decent food. Decent service. Like the hours of operations. Would recommend the classics as they are worth more than the rice dishes that are over-priced for an 86% rice dish. Go with friends. Better to go when not too busy for early dinner or lunch take out
Hopefully this relatively new place will improve. So many better Thai restaurants in the area. No plans to give it a second chance.
Our second time eating at Fern. We had great experience both times. The service is always great, the atmosphere is warm and cozy. The vegetarian pad thai is always my go to dish at Fern. Ask for one of the staff members to mix your pad thai, they’re experienced on mixing all the ingredients.
There is normally no line (reasonable wait time) if you come before 6pm on weekends. We see people start lining up after 6pm. You can make reservations in advance, just give them a call.
Crab fried rice!!
If I were to describe this place in one word, I'd say instagram-able. The decor is super cute, they have fun cocktails, and very good Thai food.
My group shared all our dishes family style and our favorites were the Tom Yum soup and the Satay Boran. The soup was complex with a rich broth and a subtle sour after taste that you want from Thai soups. The satay came with an awesome peanut sauce that I wanted to dip everything in.
All in all, this isn't my favorite Thai food in the area but this is a fun restaurant in a great location and is especially great for bigger groups.
Very limited street parking in this area. You'll likely end up having to pay for a spot in a garage.
I love Fern. It's such a great addition to the capital hill scene. So many great dishes - the curry duck and larb are standing outs I get regularly when I dine in, but I lean in on the stays and grab fried rice when I take out. If you are looking for somewhere else to eat - get the food takeout and eat at optimism. Great for a date or with friends, this is best eaten family style.
Last weekend, we went to this restaurant. The service and food are good. The food is a bit pricey. They have vegetarian options too. We ordered Thai Fried Rice, Panang Chicken Curry with Roti & rice, and spring rolls.
Review for ordered food -
Spring Rolls - The taste is bland and okay.
Rating - 3/5
Thai Fried Rice - We asked this for spice level 4. But it seems no spicy at all. The taste is okay.
Rating - 3/5
Panang Chicken Curry - It is very tasty and goes well with roti.
Rating - 5/5
Roti - It is soft and good.
