Very quaint Thai restaurant located on busy Alderwood Mall Parkway, a couple of blocks from the Alderwood Mall.

We were drawn in due to the large amount of vegan options listed on their menu. In fact, most of the items on their menu can be ordered as vegan. We opted for a bowl of Tom Kha Soup, Broccoli Stir-Fry, and Pad Kee Mao. All of our dishes were seasoned very well and were very tasty. The portion sizes were good as well, between the dishes shown and a bowl or rice we ordered, we left feeling incredibly satiated.

The ambiance was lovely as well, very inviting.

If you're in the area, I definitely recommend you check them out. We can't wait to return to try more vegan options.

Lovely little restaurant. Choices are simple but tasty, really feels like home. We ordered the green curry and four-course special, loved everything. Forgot to take a picture of the delicious mango dessert! It is one of the best I've ever tasted in these years.

No matter what, my family and I have always enjoyed our experience here. Being able to witness them grow their craft over the years, has been rewarding as a customer. The food and the service have always been top-tier, and the new additions are such a surprise!

They have now added homemade Ice Cream! Photographed below is a special flavor called “Spicy Caramel” - a sweet caramel ice cream, with a hint of enjoyable spice at the end; and there are many more to choose from! What’s refreshing is that unlike, many restaurants now they are always open to feedback- they listen to all comments and concerns, and will never fail to live up to standard.

One of the best and most authentic Thai food we've had in Greater Seattle area. Most of other Thai food places are either too sweet or no taste, especially the curry. The food selections are some of the most iconic ones.

The seasonal dishes have ingredients from local farms, fresh and good quality. And they are very creative in the experimental ice creams (also taste great). They had a raspberry one sometime this year where the raspberry was grown by the Mom's (the cook).

The server was very pleasant and friendly. He sat me immediately and offered some suggestions. His mom is the chef. I ordered the pad Thai with chicken and medium spicy…to go. It was delicious. I def recommend going and I would be back if I lived in the area.

Small seating area with 3 four tops and 2 two tops. Wonderful food!! My veggies in my gluten-free pad see ew still had bite to them, which I adored. The bells cookies they offer had a chocolate vegan gluten free cookie that was light and fluffy.

Was looking for a black owned restaurant and found one of my favorite places!!! We have been eating here for years! So glad they reopened. Highly recommend. Food is great and so is the staff. We dine in and take out.

Chilli Basil Thai Grill exceeded my expectations! The food was absolutely delightful, with flavors that reminded me of a comforting home-cooked meal. The pad Thai was the best dish. The red curry and pad see ew were average. The curry doesn’t come with rice so you have to order two sides. The food is served on disposable plates that are flimsy to eat off of which was surprising for the price point. The waiter also made a rude comment to my friend who said “wow you must be hungry” based on how much food was ordered. Won’t be coming back.

Ordered fish and chips. Was told that it would be 15 minutes. After 15 minutes food still wasn’t ready. After about 25 minutes I received fish sticks and cold fries. The fried chicken dumplings were unseasoned and cold as well. Not the best experience for a first timer.

We stumbled across this place on our way home and so glad we did. The food was AMAZING. It's a small seating area but i would go back next time I'm in the area. Good portion size, flavor was incredible. Many vegan and gluten free options which was great. Everyone needs to try this place and support small business.

Everything about this place was amazing! There was no wait, and the hostess was SUPER sweet! The food was delicious and had gluten free and vegan options!
When you first pull up its very inconspicuous looking, but it's an absolute gem "hole-in-the-wall" type restaurant. The inside is clean and nicely decorated and the music is very nice.

If you're local, please check this place out and make sure they stay in business because I want to come back the next time I'm in this area of Washington!

You can't beat this place. The recipes are delicious, the service is great, and you'll feel like you're welcomed into a home the minute you sit down. Our server was super friendly and personable, it was warming to the heart when he described the specials as his mom's specials. The family has their photos near the front adding to that feel. He excitedly helped us with our after dinner ice cream scoop to take home. The kind of place you want to say thank you to the kitchen before you go.

If the only thing, I just wish we'd had more time to talk with them! Always great, thank you Chili Basil.

Came here on a weeknight dinner with a frienr and omg!! How spectacular. No line, seated immediately. Their seasonal dish (turmeric coconut rice with deep fried pork belly) was delicious, flavorful, savory, and portioned just right. The dishes come in it's own wooden serving tray.

Really loved how there was a generous amount of protein with the dishes. Small sit-in area. Really friendly server. And their homemade ice cream is also really delicious! There's rotating unique flavors such as guava, Thai basil, and miso. Can't wait to come back here again :)

I've been going here since 2018 and the food is still amazing every time I go! My favorites are the chicken pad thai and beef pad see ew. The owners are amazing people. They are always so friendly and nice every time I get take out. Ice cream is now available which is new. Definetly need to comeback to try out all the flavors.

I can not recommend Chilli Basil enough. The food here is absolutely fantastic, and the people are SO friendly. We've tried almost all the curries, and a few of the rice and noodle dishes and every single meal is fantastic.

They have a small number of tables inside so it's also very cozy and never loud. It's well worth the wait if they're full, don't miss out!

They also have homemade experimental ice cream and it's awesome. We love the fun flavors they come up with!

Home made ice cream are best. Don't forget to try them when you are here.

It’s a very cozy little gem of a place that we happened to find. The host was very friendly, attentive and welcoming. The food was delicious. We tried their steamed chicken dumplings and chicken friend rice. I took an order of chicken fried rice to go as well.

The star of the dining experience was their experimental ice cream flavors I tried the chilli ice cream with vanilla bean and it was mind blowing. Will definitely visit again.

Their food is absolutely YUMMY! They have several vegan and gluten free meal options to satisfy your hunger and dietary needs. The fact that it is a family owned business is an added plus! I have been coming here for years and I am so proud of seeing them grow and expand their business - including with the sorbet options. The summer is always great to try their mango sticky rice . . . but it is addictive and you have been warned :). Their vibrant spirits always is an added bonus. Since COVID the restaurant seating options have been minimize so call ahead or reserve a table online, or simply order take out to enjoy at a park or at home. Whatever option you choose, you won't be disappointed!

Great food! Eggplant Tofu is the best I’ve ever had and I would highly recommend all of their curries! The owners are very friendly and recently started making ice cream in house with creative flavors. Tried them all they are so good!

I can't say enough good things about this family-owned Thai restaurant! It's truly a hidden gem in the area. The food is absolutely the best Thai cuisine I've had around here. The authenticity and flavors are simply unmatched.

What makes this place even more special is the warm, welcoming atmosphere. It's a mom-and-pop restaurant, and their son, who serves the food, always greets me by name and fills me in on the weekly specials. His friendliness and personal touch make every visit feel special.

I really enjoyed the food, The recommended one is curry fried rice. I can feel the taste slightly matches with South Indian local fried rice. Very nice place and people.

We went there for the ice cream today. The owner was super nice and friendly. I was there for the first time and didn’t know much about different ice cream flavors. The owner offered me a sample and even came outside with a few samples for my husband. We got chocolate and finished it all in the parking lot! Delicious and soft and smooth ice cream! Highly recommend :))!!

Looked for a Thai place for a date night. This was the one that stood out out of them all.
Walked in and was greeted to a very homey yet clean dinning room.
The server was amazing and super kind. And showed us right to our seats. And cool thing is you order on a iPad. So it makes ordering so nice.

This family-run restaurant is a gem! They seem to care very much about quality and customer satisfaction. We even got invited to return in the future to taste-test new menu items. Everything is fresh and locally made, including their pressed palm leaf plates! On the other hand, the place is small, and they can sell out of certain dishes, so every visit is special.

It’s 5pm. They said technically they were not open until 6pm and they had people on tables eating and it was reservations only. And take out was the only option. That’s ridicules when you have available tables.

Me and my family have been coming here for years! Their signature is the fact that some of their dishes can be made vegan - Which is great for my mom who is really allergic to fish sauce/seafood in general.

Coming home from the M's and my wife had a craving for Thai food on mother's day. This place is amazing! Wonderful food and perfect service! We will be traveling back down from Skagit county just to eat here.

I eat a lot of Thai, and this is the best place for both service and food. The feeling is far more upscale than most Thai places, while still having the feel of a family owned restaurant. I eat here about once a week and it never disappoints.

DELICIOUS! Hubs and I actually happened upon this restaurant while in Lynnwood. We popped in at the tail end of lunch and experienced the best service and food. This family-owned and operated restaurant serves up their passion for food in every bite. We had the spicy chicken wraps to start, curry fried rice with chicken and cashew chicken stir-fry for entrees and mango sticky rice for dessert. Portions were generous and served pipping hot straight from the kitchen. Thank you SO much for this amazing experience!

Wow! What an amazing restaurant! Today we stopped in to grab some food after a nice long hike and we had the pleasure of eating the pad Thai and red curry. It tasted phenomenal! 10/10 recommend. We were provided excellent service by supo (Sorry if I missed spelled it) and he is absolutely the best! Great conversation and great service is a plus! We will definitely be back.

Just ordered 4 orders of pad Thai to go however, it seems like the food has changed. The pad Thai noodles were overly chewed and not separated. The rice along with the noodles seemed like it wasn’t cooked enough. Used to love this place and after today I am disappointed

Decent portions and friendly service. The flavors of our dishes were different than what I would expect. Not very dimensional and somewhat off. Not my cup of tea unfortunately. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and Tom Kha soup. The soup tasted normal, but we ordered a large and it came less than full (see pic).

We love Chili Basil Thai. It is our go to Thai restaurant in the area. The food is incredible and Supo and his mom are so friendly.

We recently attended their first public community dumpling making event and it was a blast! There was trivia, dumpling folding, lots of eating, and meeting other people in the community.

I highly recommend trying their food and checking out their future events.

I'm giving only a 3-star review, but still would recommend Chili Basil. Two things cause me to give this rating:

First, I asked for a spice level of "mild" (1 of 5) and even commented, "I'm a wimp." The pad see ew was pretty dang spicy. Not so much that I couldn't finish it, but more than "mild." So, if you are also a wimp, order "no spice." And I don't know who would be asking for a 5.

Second, the place is so popular--mostly with To Go orders--that I had to wait over 30 minutes for my meal and I saw others being told it would be a 50-minute wait. That's a long time for Thai food. It was a Friday night, so I'm sure it's better at other times.

Loved the vegan dishes I got and plan to suggest this place for omnivores I dine with as well. I'm a fool for broccoli and rarely see a broccoli focused option on Thai menus, so that was a happy surprise. The yellow curry was also super delicious, and veggies were cooked perfectly in both dishes. They had a longan coconut black rice pudding special that was such a delicious treat, and I highly recommend giving it a try if available!

I didn't realize it was take-out only, so I walked up and ordered in person. The woman at the front was so kind! She offered to walk my order out to my car, but I decided to go next door for a boba drink while I waited. When I came back in, she offered me free fresh rhubarb they'd grown and had in a basket at the front counter. It just reinforced the impression of kindness I got.

Though I wish dine-in was an option, I am looking forward to going again.

I absolutely love this restaurant and I come here often. The staff is very sweet, their food is always quality and full of flavor, and it’s hands down my favorite Thai food restaurant in the area. I usually get their Penang Curry, Chili Basil Fried Rice, Pad Thai, and Crispy Spring Roll - which I all highly recommend!

The 3 star is simply due to their prices and their portions. We just ordered $140 (18% tip included) worth and a total of 9 items for pick up and it's not enough to feed our family of 5 (2 teens and 3 adults). All the plates listed are single servings...if that! VERY small portions! I am extremely disappointed! 😞 If you have a family to feed, I suggest not ordering from here.

Food was good, not the best Thai, but certainly not bad by any means. Flavors were a bit bland for my liking, but again not bad at all. Good sized prorations and filling. It was ready very quickly and well packaged for takeout.

Hands down one of my all time favorite restaurants! You can easily tell how high quality the food is. It’s absolutely delicious- and I highly recommend the tofu Tom Kha.

If you’re used to enormous portions at lower-quality restaurants, your plate might at first appear small. I promise anything you get here is much more filling and satisfying. You might be surprised by how quickly you start to feel full.

The service is excellent and they always surprise me by how quickly they can prepare a meal. If you stop by once in a while they’ll even know you by name.

Amazing. The food has never disappointed and I’ve been here a lot. Slam dunk option if you’re in the mood for Thai. They don’t go through an order service but you can place an order on their website. I like that they have vegan dessert options. Seems really authentic.

I was in this neighborhood and ended up getting togo for lunch. Their curry fried rice was spicy and very tasty. Their vegetarian curries were fairly spicy and tasted really good. Will be coming back here again in the future to get some food again.

This place is one of the most amazing Thai place I have been to so far. Chili basil fried rice and Curried fried rice are by far my most favorite dishes here. They are simply amazing and I strongly recommend them to anyone who are new in trying this place out.

Wife and I had a yellow chicken curry and a yellow prawn curry with a side of the cucumber salad. Solid yellow curry with an interesting addition of pineapple. My 3 starred chicken curry was spot on for heat level. I really enjoyed the curry, and the serving of brown rice was generous. The value for money slips the rating from 4 stars to 5. Very reasonably priced. I highly recommend you give them a try if you are in the mood for Thai food.

I feel like they have stolen from me, 3 $13.95 dishes two slivers of meat in each. Barely one bite of beef on each plate. IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A BEEF DISH! This is the second time they have done this. With 4 people in our crew, we will not be going back. Thieves!
I wonder if they would like it if someone robbed them !?!

I try Pad See Ew at every Thai place I go to and Chili Basil has my absolute favorite. Not too sweet and not too saucy. It's perfect and just writing this review is making me want some right now. :)

Great food, but lacking in customary friendliness. We get dinner here as often as we crave Thai, but learned to overlook the awkward customer service issue.

This place has impeccable service delightful staff and wonderful food! The Panama curry is a gem! And the golden custard cooked inside a pumpkin is a special delicious treat for the senses!

Love this place! Delicious food and, nice atmosphere, and great service. My husband had the curry fried rice, and I had the phad khee Mao. Both were very flavorful and had just the right amount of spice. Looking forward to going again!

Good food and service

If you want good Thai food come to citrus Thai! The owners are always the ones working and the food is consistently good. Service is prompt and friendly. I always get the green curry which will not disappoint, my husband gets the pad see ew which is delicious as well. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

We have driven by this place many times and always meant to check it out. We finally did and was not disappointed! The people are very nice and the food is delicious!

Reasonably prices and clean ! Tried pad ew and curried fried rice ,prompt service , first time i saw different menu for veg,easily understandable. Just a suggestion they could adjust the menu and serve rice with curry !!!

favorite Thai in the area

We just ordered a couple of currys From Door Dash and the orders did not come with rice nor was there an option to add rice. Who wants curry without rice? I throughout the curry, it was too Spicey without rice

I’m the customer here for over 5 years. I came at 8:20pm today and they refused to serve us because we have 8 people while they are not close until 9:00pm.we will never come to this Chill Thai restaurant again

Nice staff and good Thai food.

I've found a hair in my food several times but other then that the food is good.

As always....simply the best!

Great food, coconut soup, pad kee mao and crying tiger beef salad, will go back and try other dishes.
