Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen is a Thai restaurant serving regional and street food favorites from Isan (Northeast Thailand), as well as some personal chef favorites from Southern and Central Bangkok. The menu features fresh and flavorful dishes made with authentic Thai ingredients and cooking techniques.
The service and atmosphere were nice and relaxing. The portion sizes were good for the price they charge. The food was okay, but the flavors were just alright. Having been to Thailand many times, I found the flavors here to be less spicy and not as authentically Thai as I expected.
Food is great, my taste buds are happy and I’m a frequent visitor. I’ve never eaten inside, I’m more of a to go kinna person, however their portions are great! Flavors are good and I’ll crave the crab fried rice along with the lettuce cups. We tried the chu chi curry and it’s tasty. No complaints and I recommend you give these items a try. Crab fried rice is moist and tasty not to mention they don’t hold back on portion like some places do.
Isarn Thai is hands-down our new favorite Thai restaurant! The food was incredible—our favorites were the Isarn Mini Wings, Fried Rice with Chinese Sausage, Phad See Eiw, Chu Chi Red Curry, and plenty of Jasmine Rice! The menu is extensive, and we wanted to order everything!
The team was exceptional—warm, welcoming, and super attentive. They were patient with our party of 5, always checking on us and offering drink refills. The manager stood out for their kindness and made us feel so cared for. They even offered to take our group photo when they saw us struggling with a selfie, capturing great shots.
With amazing cocktails, delicious food, and standout service, it was a remarkably memorable experience. We can’t wait to come back!
Food was pretty good. It depends on what you order though. The pad Thai, pad see ew and fried pork belly with garlic was good. The crab fried rice and beef salad were not. The fried rice was bland. The salad had so many vegetables and ingredients we couldn’t eat. Very strange.
Worst of all was the noise. It was incredibly loud, like disruptively loud. Was hard to talk and enjoy our food. Service was very good.
Food was very good! Their menu is more unique than the traditional thai restaurant, which I like. They have the thai staples like pad se ew, curry, etc.
Then they also have unique dishes that were delish.
Flavor profile is strong, staff is nice. Atmosphere is pretty. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was a 20 minute wait. Parked on the street, can be difficult sometimes in Kirkland but it wasnt too bad.
Lots of area to walk around if there is a wait.
Prices are fair.
I visited Isarn Thai recently in Kirkland and it has become one of my favorite Thai place. The Kirkland location is kinda cute and lively in its own way. It’s on the popular side too so there is wait sometime to get a table. For a large group it’s better to get a reservation upfront.
The 3 times that I have been there, I have tried sweet corn salad with young coconut and Pad Kee mao. They make both these options vegetarian and without egg. Trust me the food is still very authentic and flavorful. One bite of food here is like a burst of flavors.
This place had become one of my favorite joint in Kirkland.
I’m honestly fed up. I loved isarn, I’ve been a customer for years. I always order spicy. These days no matter how much we emphasize that “we want 5 star spicy, Extra extra extra spicy” and they confirm it while we are ordering, it comes out embarrassingly bland with no spices or chilies added.
Our food is lacking any flavor, it doesn’t taste like their food. Isarn just doesn’t care about their customers any more. I’m sick of this. I honestly don’t want to give them any more chances. If you like food with spice and flavor, find a new Thai restaurant because isarn clearly does not want to offer the spicy flavorful food they advertise in their menu.
I’ve had this problem with take out and in the restaurant at multiple locations. Fool me once, shame on you… fool me 10 times? Well, I’m the idiot who keeps giving you my money. I’m taking a stand, start making your food spicy again and listen to what your customers order!
Nice food! Great ambiance and friendly staff! I would definitely recommend any day
A terrible experience. We were first on the waiting list. We stepped away for like 3min, and when we came back, someone had cut in line. It was cold outside, so we went inside to wait, but the staff was rude. Different staff members kept sending us back and forth. In the end, we left without dining.
Food is pretty good! Ambience is great too however it is kind of small so sometimes there is a wait, especially when it’s the summer! Otherwise great and I like to take my friends here. Also great gluten free choices and they take it pretty seriously.
Not the best food or costumer service.
Great appreciation for the staff and service. Unlike many restaurants, they did not understaff and there are plenty of servers to ensure a good dining experience.
The restaurant is quite busy to plan accordingly and the food was good. They also offer a vegan menu if you are looking for something healthier.
We enjoyed the dining experience here and would recommend.
We’ve been loyal patrons of Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen in Kirkland since they opened, and we’ve always had great experiences here, as well as at their sister restaurant, Kin Len. Unfortunately, our recent visit left us deeply disappointed due to the unprofessional and rude behavior of one of the waitresses in the back, Kate.
My wife wanted to order an additional dish, but Kate rudely told us to wait, adding that she doesn’t take orders. While this was already an unpleasant interaction, what followed was even more troubling. In Thai, she said to the other waitress, something along the lines of, “Hey, this lady over here wants to order another dish,” in a tone that was dismissive and disrespectful. What she didn’t anticipate is that both my wife and I are fluent in Thai, and her comments did not go unnoticed.
We’ve always appreciated Isarn’s welcoming atmosphere and excellent food, but this level of disrespect from staff is unacceptable. A dining experience is about more than just the food—it’s about how customers are treated, and in this instance, we felt disrespected and unwelcome.
We hope that management addresses this issue with Kate and reinforces the importance of respectful and professional customer service. We love this restaurant and would like to continue supporting it, but experiences like this make us think twice about returning.
The best Thai food in Washington state. My family's favorite restaurant!
Food was pretty good. It depends on what you order though. The pad Thai, pad see ew and fried pork belly with garlic was good. The crab fried rice and beef salad were not. The fried rice was bland. The salad had so many vegetables and ingredients we couldn’t eat. Very strange.

Great price point for the amount of food which's great quality! Fantastic presentation! Top tier service (love you Tiki-best bartender) great atmosphere/vibes (date night forsure). In an area with allot of over priced bs this is a piece of heaven for us normies. P.s. If you're not into Thai dessert there is a Ben and Jerries ice cream next door!
The food is good and well priced. Try the lettuce wraps. They also have good service the staff is polite. Nice little PNW spot.
One of my favorite local spots! Been more times than I can count
Crying tiger is awesome. But sometime, it is not the best. overall, it is good.
Saved a spot in the automated waitlist for 4 people. Put that we had 3 adults and a stroller in the notes section on the automated waitlist. Waited 45 min in the cold (original wait time was 20is min.) just to be told that they don't have room for a stroller. Not a place to go unless your kid is old enough for a high-seat.
Next level Thai cuisine! We enjoyed the squid skewers, Thai sausage, and salmon. Definitely coming back!
Their sweet coconut desert 👌👌

Super oily
Excellent aromatics and flavorful ingredients used. Lamb was a little tough/overcooked in the massaman but it didn't matter because the curry was so fresh and flavorful. Could taste each ingredient in the papaya salad (recommend it!) They also adjusted the thai iced coffee to my preferences.
Lunched at today about 1:30 PM, The food was good but was very disappointed with the service. Wait staff appeared disgruntled and were not very welcoming.
Waited to be seated- ignored for the first five minutes without any greeting. Ungraciously escorted to the table. What has happened to friendly warm smiles and gracious
hospitality?
The foods were so good and the staff were super nice🥺 Personal favs were definitely the crab fried rice and the crying tiger.
We celebrated my sister’s bday here and it was such a pleasant meal and experience. Thank you so much for helping us with the secret cake celebration!!
Alright here is the good and bad of it. Parking is a nightmare. Pad su ew is out of this world, it rivals what I have had in Thailand. Check your order before you leave, I got a pork belly stew which looks amazing but will have to make my own rice even though I paid for some. Its not worth the parking nightmare to go back.

My Thai food expectations has significantly increased thanks to the fantastic experience at this restaurant. We shared several dishes, and the standout was definitely the Crying Tiger—juicy and full of flavor. The Lemongrass Wings and Lamb Massaman with Roti were also highlights. It was great to have a knowledgeable friend with us who paired the dishes perfectly and helped us explore the menu.
The drink selection at the bar was impressive too, adding to the fun atmosphere. My only suggestion would be to offer a few more utensils, as there were times when I needed more than just a fork. Overall, Isarn Thai is a gem for anyone looking for authentic Thai cuisine!
Try Isarn Thai in the Kirkland area! The restaurant offers a lovely view near the bay and is surrounded by a variety of local food spots. We ordered the stir-fried squid with salted egg yolk, tofu red curry, and the Isarn spicy grilled chicken soup. While parking is limited, there’s usually street parking available nearby.
Thai iced tea is amazing!
Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen serves some of the most authentic Thai cuisine I’ve had outside of Thailand. Every dish bursts with traditional flavors, from the perfectly balanced spices to the fresh ingredients used in every bite. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The staff is friendly, and the menu offers a great variety of dishes that stay true to the heart of Thai cooking. If you're craving an authentic Thai experience, Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen is the place to be!

Good place to go if you are looking for diabetes
The food was fantastic 10/10
The service, however, was very poor.
Update:
This was one of my fav Thai restaurants. They would make it extremely spicy when asked they would accommodate with lots of flavor chilies. The last four or five times we have ate at Isarn at multiple locations. It was just disgusting. Very bland food not spicy at all…
I think they soul their soul to the money and stopped giving their customs authentic Thai food! Do yourself a favor and find another Thai Resturant!
If I could give them 0 stars I would
My go to Thai spot! Always kindly greeted, service is fast. Food is delicious just like Thailand. Spicy phad sweeu, wings, yellow curry, spring rolls. Have to try the lychee cocktail, fresh coconut water. Consistent with their dishes. Great place to Also dine alone or with friends, family and date night. Located close to the water front. Good happy hour

Felt rushed the moment we sat. Food was below average and I had a stomachache all night after having dinner here. Spicy here means more chill flakes on top of whatever you ordered.
Food is great, my taste buds are happy and I’m a frequent visitor. I’ve never eaten inside, I’m more of a to go kinna person, however their portions are great! My favorite Thai restaurant. A little snug, usually a wait but worth it.

Very unique food, unlike the generic thai restaurant, you get more food choices.
Super delicious, lettuce wraps
Everything on this menu is delicious!! Definitely one of the best Thai food in the area.
We have been dining at Isarn in Kirkland for the past 10 years and have absolutely loved the experience and the food itself. We always left satisfied. However since the new owner has taken over, we've noticed the quality of the food has gone down and the service has been very inconsistent and lacking. For example, we found hair in our food, the Chinese broccoli in the pad see ew was undercooked and not fresh (the stems were thick and tough to eat) and very little broccoli leaves, the chicken was large and flavorless, and the beef in the Isarn fried rice was no longer cut to be bite-sized, it was overcooked and chewy. Additionally, we waited 30 min for our food to arrive after we ordered it and the food, while plentiful, was flavorless, and the waitress did not even appear happy to be there. After spending $75 for 2 dishes plus drinks that were overly sweet and poor service, we really did not feel we were getting value for what we paid and will no longer be dining at Isarn or recommending your establishment moving forward. Overall, the caliber of Isarn has gone down tremendously. I don't know who previously ran the kitchen, but whoever it was, needs to be brought back.
One of my favorite places in Kirkland. The wait times a bit long but the food is really great
Great food but if you want spicy you need to pass the test first.
Best Thai on the east side
Heard so many great things about this restaurant as a new member of the neighborhood. Arrived around 8:30 to place a to go order, was greeted with no staff, when someone arrived we were tossed a QR code to place our order. Once deciding their toast system wouldn’t accept our order so close to ‘closing’ time. When I went inside I waited another 5 minutes to place our order. I was created with a disgruntled welcome and a shrugged “sure” the bartender went over to grab his Toast handheld and threw it against the host stand. I asked if it was still ok to order, the response was, “yea sure” I said he didn’t seem happy about it, the response was, “what do you want?” Upon that reaction, we left. Pretty terrible welcome to the neighborhood for our first experience, definitely wouldn’t want to spend money here in the future. The food looked great, but at a cost of poor service and terrible attitudes, BYE! Will not give another try, providing great food is one thing, but it won’t be fantastic with extremely poor service.
I’ve been their customers for years. Their food is excellent. But they are super popular and always busy. Every time I went there I felt servers were rushing and stressed, service is good. Few times I took a take out and was great. I highly recommend to make reservation.
Have you ever had a dish that you think of for days (or even weeks) after eating because it was so good? If not, try this place and it will happen to you. The food is so very good layered flavors and textures.
This was my first time trying Thai food. Call me basic for ordering egg fried rice with crab but whatever. The point is I loved it. I will be coming back here in the future!
Didn’t get to try the food; we came here on a Friday night at 7 ish, while putting our names on the iPad waitlist a manager approached us and told us “it’s a long wait, and we close at 9” he then proceeded to show us his iPad with a waitlist of other customers on it. I asked him if we should just leave then because I was surprised, they didn’t close for two more hours and it isn’t even worth it for a table of two to wait? He shrugged and said we should try somewhere else. Super rude and ridiculous; don’t operate a restaurant if you can’t accommodate busy Friday nights, Isran should be embarrassed that their crew can’t operate at such a basic level.
I was wondering why I hadn’t gone back in awhile and now I remember. It’s just not that good. Ingredients are not the best. Pad see ew is one of the easiest dishes to make but for some reason it isn’t executed right at this location. I think dining in might be better presentation wise because what you get for to go always looks like somebody’s leftovers. I believe there is potential for improvement so please take this criticism with an open mind.
If you are a vegetarian/vegan, keep looking. They don’t have a single curry in the menu for vegans, and the fried rice that I ordered was basically boiled veggies with rice without any flavour. They also asked for additional $4 for adding pineapple to the fried rice, I have never experienced in any other Thai places, usually they are so accommodating to vegan needs.
The plus was portion size, pretty decent for the price.
Staffs are kind.
I noticed that Isarn use eggs more in pad see ew, crab curry and other dishes compared to other places. Is this an attempt to make the portions appear larger? The taste of the adding eggs spoil the traditional flavor of these Thai dishes.
Can you not add eggs to dishes? It makes dishes also too soggy.
Great food and amazing service
Congested and dark place. The table was make shift, table ware was steel plates, which were worn out , and the hostess said “ this is the only table we have, we will not mive you to another table, if you ask me later”. This was after waiting 45 mins. Food was ordinary. We ordered papaya salad, Redsnapper fry, Thai fried rice, and the boys ordered, pad thai. Not upto the standard, for the price. Will not return.
What happened to you, Isarn? Isarn used to be our go-to Thai spot, but after this experience, we won't be back for a while.
First the positives. Came in for lunch on Sunday and there was no wait. Nice bonus: The restaurant accommodates dogs in the summertime as they open all of their sliding panel doors (the dog was seated outside). Service was fine. But the positives stop there.
The food quality was so disappointing. We ordered a pad see ew, a stir-fried squid with salted egg yolk, and a crab fried rice. The biggest offender: None of these three stir-fry dishes had the proper stir fry (i.e. "wok hei") flavor. It's the unique flavor you can only get with a commercial, high BTU wok burner. Instead, everything tasted like what I could make at home. Also, the squid was tasteless and had no texture, likely frozen for too long. Lastly, the crab in the fried rice was practically non-existent. Plenty of egg to cover up the lack of crab.
We haven't been back for over a year, and clearly the chef is different. If this is the new norm, it might be a few more years before we return.
Service is the worst place in kirkland staff has no Concept of customer service. We are party of 5 and 3 of us where here waiting to be seated and host sad you need 4 people while majority of folks where here already. Common sense Isran pls common sense.
Cute spot but I was served raw shrimp. Firecracker shrimp appetizer. I couldn't believe it.. asked the waitress if it was done, while showing her, she gasped and said no. I had eaten 2 bites by the time i realized. Anyone else, who doesn't cook on a regular, would of just kept eating them since they were in a fried wrapper. 🤷🏾♀️ I'm still alive. They handled it well. It's the kitchen but they're a team.
The Chiang Mai Curry Noodles were exceptional!
I've been to Thailand many times in my life and Isarn is the most Authentic "Northern" Thai food I've had here in the states. Amazing atmosphere, wonderful interaction with the staff, and the food is out of this world. If you save a little room after your meal, try out their desserts. You can't go wrong. 5 stars all day long!

Best place in Kirkland. Always incredible.
Me gustó lo que pedi
This is now your favourite Thai restaurant, you are welcome! The food is top tier, the service is top tier, the vibe is top tier!
We ordered the Crab stir fry with yellow curry, which is a close tie with their Chiang Mai. Both are ABSOLUTELY amazing. Chiang Mai comes with crispy noodles and a whole chicken leg. Very good textures and flavor that mesh well together. Stir fry curry may not look as apatizing but trust me, it can run on the flavor alone. Delicious with rice! We got 1 star spicy it was a good level for me. Definitely recommending this place to anyone who enjoys Thai food.
This is hands down the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to! Every visit is a culinary delight. We have probably eaten here 50 times! Our absolute favorite dishes include the chicken Khao soi, which is rich and flavorful, and the lamb skewers, which are perfectly seasoned and tender. The crab stir-fried with yellow curry is simply divine, bursting with fresh flavors, and the mushroom fritters are a crispy, delicious treat. The quality of the food is consistently excellent, and the service is always friendly and attentive. If you're a fan of Thai cuisine, you absolutely must try this restaurant. Highly recommended!
Food was great, would come back again!
Delicious and tasty food.
Good Thai food in a nice spot downtown Kirkland. Only been for lunch a couple times and it's been good. Service is fine and the lunch menu has good options.
I've had the Chinese sausage fried rice and then the Street set (basil chicken w egg). Both were tasty but note even the 3* is not that spicy (their range is 1-3*)
My friends had the Chang Mai noodles that looked good and another had the Isarn set which was a lot of food (1/2 a chicken)
I have been a fan of Isarn for years and always had great experience at Lynnwood and Seattle location. However I'm very disappointed at the experience I had today at Kirkland location.
The Crying Tiger was served with some portion meat still RAW. I did not ask for refund or anything and the waitress came said "you should told us earlier before you eat" and manager offered $2.81 discount. I said I don't need a discount she said feel free to complain and send the email to the email address. It's very sad seeing they treat customers like this. Thank you and not coming again.
Rude server
EAT HERE!!!
I’ve been a fan of their restaurants for almost ten years now. The BEST Thai food outside of Thailand in my opinion. Service, quality & price deliver completely. I love the company and I love the food. Cannot recommend enough!
We were attended by server named PK. He was rude, racist & unprofessional. He added a large party gratuity on our bill for pax of 3 & on being confronted, rather being sorry he was asking if it was ok to leave that as is. I wonder if does that to others & things go unnoticed. He made us feel real uncomfortable while our toddler finished her food after we paid the bill & that too in an empty restaurant. Not stepping there again.
We had a terrible experience today dinning at Isabel Thai. Firstly the tofu curry was full of tofu and hardly any curry. The manager was extremely rude, while my 17 month old daughter was eating rice and as a baby would take time to eat she took her time. The manager ( name- PK ) when we were leaving told us that today he didn’t say anything to us because the restaurant is empty, otherwise he would have asked us to leave as my kid was taking extra time to eat. This is absurd behavior as I have never seen any restaurant telling me to eat fast and leave. He also by mistake charged us large party fee, when we pointed that out he arrogantly said so “what do you want me to do with that ?” Instead of apologizing.
I ate there yesterday and within 2 hours have severe case of food poisoning. Had wok vegetable dish with pork. Vegetables were
barely cooked. Horrible pain; can't rest. Severe diarrhea and sharp stabbing pain in my stomach. DON'T GO EAT HERE.
This place is stupid, told me 45 minute wait. They texted me almost 2 hours later saying your table is ready. What kind of business you running? It’s not like your food is Michelin star status smh
Decent food.. But don't know if we'll go back there.
I have been here before and the papaya salad, Isarn and northern sausage is good. This time my partner and I wanted to try something different for takeout. We ordered 3 stars for spiciness level, but they had forgotten to add spicy to our food.
Pad Thai: 3/5 it was good in small amounts, but the tamarind sauce was overpowering. Did not get even sauce spread on the noodles.
Pad Kee Mao: 2.5/5 Too much sweet sauce, noodles taste too sweet. This was unfortunate as I did have some good bites of noodles with basil and kaffir leaves.
Isarn mini wings: 3/5 Too sweet, but the herbs flavor was good.
Overall, the food isn’t bad but could be much better if flavor was more balanced. There might have been too much MSG used: my partner and I both felt the effects of MSG. Her tongue hurt after eating.
Warm atmosphere, great company & delicious bites!
Delicious, we’ve been looking forward to dining here. We had the NW sweet curry and lettuce wraps.
Ice cold Singha and they sat the two of us quickly on a busy Friday.
And we had very tasty leftovers the next day
My goto place for thai food in Kirkland. Tasty food, nice ambiance for dine in.
A must try Thai restaurant!! Went on a Sunday lunch without reservations but could get a table immediately. I ordered their Prawn acacia leaf omlet soup and seafood custard curry with rice. The soup was extremely unique and delicious. Seafood was top notch too.
The food presentation was amazing and portion size was perfect for two.
It’s located right on the Kirkland waterfront so parking might take a while.
Overall highly recommended!!!
Delicious food and friendly service!
Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen serves the best Thai dishes in Kirkland, one of the finest destinations on the east side. This restaurant is very close to the waterfront. You can order to go and enjoy it at nearby parks and beaches.
The servers are great, and everything on the menu is delicious. Some of my favorites are lemongrass chicken wings, papaya salad with salted crabs, seafood tom yum, chicken larb, and sticky rice. They also serve good mixed drinks there, but I stick with the fresh coconut drink.
NOTE: The lemongrass chicken wings are the best.
We got the chicken Pad See Eiw and Ching Mai Curry Noodles! Both were delicious! Vipada was so sweet!
Food was incredibly fresh! This was the most authentic thai food I've tried.
Our family comes here pretty much every weekend. They have an excellent happy hour even on weekends. We have tried almost all the items on the menu and I don’t think there is anything that disappointed. The menu isn’t big, so hopefully they will change it up routinely. Really wish they served pineapple fried rice because that is my son’s go to dish at a Thai restaurant. My favorite dish that makes this restaurant stand out from other thai restaurants is their Chiang Mai Curry Noodles. My 5 year old daughter’s favorite is their lemongrass wings, she could probably eat 10wings if I didn’t stop her, and I can’t blame her they are amazing. So are the isarn mini wings, but they have a small kick to it so my kids don’t eat them. Summer is coming and I know I will be eating a lot of their crying tiger salad and papaya salad, both are so refreshing and tasty.
The location is great, the service is great, the ambience is great, the pricing and servings are also great. Definitely give this restaurant a try, you won’t regret it.
Excellent food and friendly service. We came as a family and everyone found something they liked on the menu. Portions are generous. Prices are reasonable. Great area.
The place to go if you are looking for an interesting menu. Nice atmosphere and music. Try the ginger lemonade.
Fantastic Thai food an great location just across the street from the waterfront!
I am disgusted with my experience at Isarn. I arrived on a Friday night at 8:15 for dinner after being referred here by friends. I was rushed from the beginning. I order the salted beef and grilled squid skewer to start and both were so-so. I was then told at 8:40 that it was last call for everything including drinks and that I must order an entree, dessert, and any more drinks. I begrudgingly chose the crab fried rice and ordered a cocktail I didn't really want. The crab fried rice was bland at best and had no heat despite asking for it to be spicy. By 9:05 I was sitting in the middle of the dining room with lights on blast and every other table put away. There's no excuse for this behavior in a restaurant that has the facade of being high end. Embarrassing and pretentious at best is how I would describe Isarn.
When did they renovate? I used to come here for several decades and everything was excellent: food, service, extremely friendly waitresses, atmosphere, even cute restrooms. Was gone since August, came back and I am shocked: WHAT HAPPENED HOW???
パッタイが美味しくてこればかり注文してしまいます。
Nice restaurant with professional staff and good atmosphere.
EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF AFTER RENOVATION
We probably went to Isarn Kirkland over 150 times these last few years. But THEY don’t want us to go anymore.
Here is how the conversation went with our host tonight…
Me (exactly like we have been saying forever): We have shellfish allergy, so can you please let the chef know?
Waiter: If you have shellfish allergy don’t come here.
Me (Surprised, but wanting to give her the benefit of doubt: I mean, please let the kitchen staff know that we have a shellfish allergy on the table, and ask them to avoid cross contamination.
Waiter: I told you, if you have shellfish allergy you should not come here (and turns and walks away…not towards the kitchen)
So we ended up doing just that. Took the kids and walked out.
It used to be our favorite restaurant. For over 10 years. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case after today's experience. It's disheartening to see a place we loved become unwelcoming to those with dietary needs.
We have always found the food at Isarn to be very good and have eaten here for quite a few years. The one star rating is due to the hostess telling us that we had to leave so she could seat another party and said we could leave by the side door. Our food arrived about 12:15. We paid our bill about 12:50 and we finishing our drinks. When we paid our bill, our server said we could stay as long as we wished. We were pretty close to leaving before we were told to leave. This experience was off-putting and rude. So unfortunate to ruin good food with ungrateful service. Not sure we will return.
Great Thai food, fast service
The best Thai food I had overseas! And this comes from a person who grew up with Thai food and has traveled to Thailand 10+ times.
Also they are one of the only restaurants that offer Mieng Kham and their Khao Soi is just wonderful and authentic.
Definitely the only restaurant I will go to for Thai food or else I prefer to cook it at home.
We live nearby and we love this restaurant. We brought our friends over every time when they come for a visit. Food is good as usual but the service wasn’t in par today. Our server ‘Billy’ seemed to be impatient since the beginning. I can tell by his fiscal expression and he is not welcoming. I am still cool with that as long as we can order our food. My wife wanted to order more food later on and asked him about the food others ordered. He may not know what it was and another helper helped us. The second time my wife asked him about the food. He felt annoyed and walked away. My wife asked for another waitress and she was able to explain the dishes. It is pretty basic to help customers to understand what dishes they serve, if Billy doesn’t want to interact with customers and that’s fine too. He can work behind the front and he can still perform perfectly without doing something he doesn’t enjoy like interacting with customers.
Good food and service!
Authentic
Vegetarian here.
8.5/10 Thai place (Bai Tong and Noi Thai are better)
Must haves:
1. Chiang Mai Curry (Vegetarian with Tofu) - 9/10. Selected spice level 2 out of 3. Excellent, soothing curry that goes with the fried rice as well.
2. Isarn Fried Rice with Tofu 8/10 - well cooked, didnt have an eggy smell & mellow to go well with curry.
3. Fresh Cracked young Coconut 8/10 - Fresh cut & served cold coconut water. Refreshing & different from what you get at most Asian stores & Whole foods. Can also eat the coconut meat.
Avoid:
Sweet Young Coconut Cream with Tapioca 5/10 - dessert served hot inside a coconut. Presentation seemed good, but lacked taste, sweetness & tapioca seemed different from the usuals in Boba.
Overall highly recommend the place, has great Vegan/Vegetarian options.
Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen in Kirkland is a beloved spot! It's our go-to for fantastic Thai cuisine. The service is consistently excellent, and the flavorful dishes arrive promptly. While the seating is snug, the option to extend outdoors in the summer adds a welcoming touch. Highly recommend for a delightful Thai dining experience!
This restaurant has been around for a long time. It is excellent. Their drinks are outstanding. And the food is flavorful, fresh, and good portions. The only drag is it's so popular usually have to wait to get in. But it's worth it.
Good Atmosphere: Vibrant atmosphere and a good place for dinner with friends/family.
OK Food: Vegetarian food options limited with little/no flexibility to adjust any menu items to customize per your liking. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 entrees and most of them had more sweetness to it than we liked. There was no mention of that in the menu and were not advised by the server. Overall not bad tasting food, but not something we liked as much.
Poor Service: Service felt a bit rushed. Worst part of the evening was that the server literally demanded the tip even before we completed the payment process...While I would have happily paid a tip..forced tipping is a turnoff for me.
It's the best restaurant in Kirkland in my opinion. Chiang Mai curry noodles are my go to. Great drinks, atmosphere, and service as well. Portion sizes are large enough that we always leave with leftovers too.
Had a good evening at Isarn Thai Kirkland, tried out wings and omlette and lychee martini from happy menu and chaing mai noodles tofu and isarn thai fried rice chicken. All the food items tasted good .
The food was delicious and flavorful, the service was fast and friendly, and the dining experience was amazing.
The decor was top-notch, and the food was phenomenal.
