Thai Restaurant
We have ate here twice. The interior all though a little cramped and tight is very nice. The service is quick and the food is prepared fresh. We had a short wait for our food at lunchtime on a Saturday. I got the pineapple fried rice which was delicious. My son got the Siam chicken. This was also delicious and the presentation of the food is nice. If you enjoy Thai food I would highly recommend this place the next time you are at Stonebridge shopping.
I recently held a casual business meeting at this Thai restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. While the ambiance was a bit lively for a business discussion, the incredible food more than made up for it.
Every dish was bursting with authentic flavors, and the star of the show was undoubtedly the sticky mango rice. It was absolutely heavenly—sweet, creamy, and perfectly balanced. A must-try for anyone visiting!
The staff was attentive, and the service was prompt, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. If you're looking for a place with amazing Thai cuisine, this is definitely worth a visit. Just keep in mind that it can get a little loud if you're planning a quiet meeting.
Highly recommended!
I recently visited Dok Khao Thai Eatery, located next to the Alamo cinema in Woodbridge Mall, and it was an absolute treat for my taste buds! As a food enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for delicious and authentic meals, and this restaurant did not disappoint.
To start, I ordered the Healthy Rolls as an appetizer. They were fresh, light, and packed with flavor—a perfect way to kick off the meal. For my entree, I went with the Beef Noodle Soup, which was rich, savory, and incredibly satisfying. The broth was deeply flavorful, and the beef was tender and cooked to perfection.
The highlight of my meal, however, was the Hawaii Blue drink. It was not only visually stunning but also refreshing and delicious—definitely a must-try!
The service was exceptional. Our bartender, Bee, was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. His excellent service added to the overall wonderful experience.
The ambience of the restaurant was another big plus. It was relaxed, welcoming, and family-friendly, making it a great spot for both casual lunches and special outings.
Overall, Dok Khao Thai Eatery exceeded my expectations. From the delicious food and drinks to the excellent service and inviting atmosphere, it’s a place I’ll definitely return to. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic Thai dining experience!
This restaurant is beautifully decorated with hanging plants and flowers, featuring a lovely color scheme of green, gold, and white. The high ceilings and comfortable seating create an inviting atmosphere. Our server, Aoi, provided attentive and exceptional service.
The food was fantastic. The calamari appetizer was freshly fried, and the Dok Khao Pad Thai boasted an excellent combination of flavors. The homemade spicy sweet soy sauce was perfectly balanced—not too strong or overly sweet. The Pad Si Ew had a great texture, with flat rice noodles combined with seafood and Chinese broccoli.
The highlight of our meal was the homemade desserts. The Volcano Thai Tea Bingsu was refreshing and outstandingly presented, while the Matcha Cake featured a soft sponge cake with a subtle sweetness from the cream.
My experience at Dok Khao was magnificent. The jacketed shrimp, spring rolls, and hangover lo mein were excellent. This is some of the best Thai food I've had. It was more crowded than I'd like, but the experience was still excellent. I'd definitely return on a less crowded night, or I'd order for takeout. Great!
Dok Khao Thai Eatery in Woodbridge is a delightful spot for those seeking an authentic Thai dining experience. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a warm and inviting ambiance, blending traditional Thai elements with a modern touch. It’s a cozy yet vibrant setting that immediately transports you to Thailand, making it perfect for both casual meals and special occasions.
The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Thai dishes, from classic appetizers like crispy spring rolls and satay skewers to flavorful curries, stir-fries, and noodle dishes. Standout options include the Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Tom Yum Soup, each bursting with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors. The spice levels can be adjusted to your preference, making it accessible for all palates.
Service is friendly and attentive, with staff members often going out of their way to explain dishes and ensure a pleasant dining experience. The food is consistently well-prepared, beautifully presented, and served in generous portions. Prices are reasonable given the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.
Staff was super friendly and got ensuring perfect! Our waitress was Ao-- we loved her! Amazing food and nice atmosphere! We ordered: Thai Tea Latte, Nam Tok, Spring Rolls, Curry Puffs, Kapow Fried Rice, Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Cry Baby Noodles, Drunken Noodles, Thai Tea Creme Brulee, Bubble Thai Tea Mousse Cake and the Siam Mule.
I am very disappointed with Dok Khao and will no longer patronize this establishment. My family and I have been regular customers, both dining in and ordering takeout, typically ordering the same meals: Siam Chicken, Cashew Chicken, and Crab Rangoon.
When ordering takeout, we often request extra sauce on the side for the Siam Chicken because the sauce it comes with gets absorbed into the rice, leaving the meal dry. In the past, this request was accommodated without issue. However, today we were told that extra sauce on the side would cost an additional $10 unless it was placed in the same container, which is free.
That policy completely misses the point. Putting extra sauce in the same container does nothing to solve the problem—it still gets absorbed and leaves the meal dry. Charging $10 for a small portion of sauce seems excessive and comes across as an intentional attempt to take advantage of customers. It’s disappointing to see a regular customer’s request handled this way. If it was 2 -5 maybe by 10 dollars you’re taking advantage.
We value good customer service and fair treatment, and unfortunately, this experience makes us feel neither valued nor respected. As a result, we will be taking our business elsewhere.
This is my favorite place to eat in Woodbridge. The service is always excellent, the food is always impeccable, and the atmosphere is delightful. I wish I could eat here every week!
The restaurant atmosphere was terrific. The employees were terrific and courteous. However, it seemed we were being timed. For Example, A waiter asked us, "Are we ordering anything else, and would we like the check?" It seemed we were being timed. Plus, there was a birthday with a big crowd, but they weren't being asked. To me, that is poor work etiquette.
Nevertheless, my friend and I did not allow this to mess up the wood. Still, the food was delicious, and I was pleased with the first waitress.
Nice Thai bistro experience with excellent dishes and drinks. Smaller than expected but more cozy than cramped. Take away is just as awesome! Although the menu is pricey, the food is worth it! I’ve had the Pad Si Ew, Panang Curry and curry puffs and their mango sticky rice is absolutely incredible.
We recently ordered takeout from Dok Khao Thai and enjoyed the experience overall. The green curry and pad Thai were flavorful and well-prepared. However, the salmon curry dish was a bit disappointing—the fish was overcooked, possibly due to being in a takeout container for too long.
The restaurant itself is modern and clean, and we look forward to trying it again when we visit in person. Hopefully, dining in will provide an even better experience!
Food is good, but extremely disappointed that when you call in an order, they randomly make up prices and charge you more than what’s quoted online!!!!
Wow! I’ve frequented many many Thai places around NoVA in the past decade this is by far top 3. Curry puffs app. Street noodles, red curry, lamb curry noodles special is 🔥 10/10 recommend. Their drinks are very good as well. Try the espresso martini.
Wanted Thai for take out and the service was good and quick. Food was excellent.
They’re consistently messing up take out orders. I ordered Dok Khao pad Thai, no eggs add beef. I get home, no beef. Last time I got the same thing… there was eggs. It’s starting to feel like a guessing game what they’ll screw up next.
3 years later, still bad.
Came here recently with group of friends for dinner. Cocktails was really good. The food and the service was fantastic. Don’t be afraid to try everything!
Love their drunken noodles and pad thai.. and their crab Rangoon is one of the best.
How ever, I am on a hunt for good Tom yum soup.. and this places makes it similar to other one in Woodbridge! THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO TASTE SUGARY! please put less sugar in your Tom yum soup! I used to have a perfect one up in Alexandria but both the Thai restaurant s I have been to in Woodbridge and had their Tom yum soup. It’s sweet.. 😣😣😣 other wise they would get 5 start but took the star for bad Tom yum! Now I am afraid to buy Tom yum at a restaurant.

Food was tasty, service was good and atmosphere was lively.
The food was nice and the atmosphere was wonderful. I got the spicy duck soup, it was delicious. The drinks are pretty strong but I was not a fan of the desert.
Excellent service and environment. The food is very good.
The food and drinks here are so good! We don't live super close anymore but sometimes make the drive as a treat! Absolutely delicious.
Wonderful food and experience every time
Food is always great
This was the best thai food I have had in a while. We will definitely be going back!
Update: Still fighting with them to get my money refunded. Total inconvenience that I have to take time out to go and fight to get a refund on food we didn’t eat.
1/5: they took my $60.00 and have not refunded me for an order placed on December 29. Told to wait until Friday, January 10 because a third party pays them.
12/29 - Will not eat here ever again! Firstly, they’re rude; secondly the food is overpriced, and lastly they’re extremely rude. I’ve ordered here quite often and the food is ok, but not the best. Placed an order over the phone, but due to them not accepting payment over the phone, was told to place order online and call back with order modifications. I did exactly as asked (called twice to confirm and reconfirm), but get the order and it’s completely WRONG! Called to speak with them about the order, was told text pictures of the wrong items and they would call me back. Called back and said to bring items back to them. I’m under the weather and hubby was going to pick up the corrected order, but because of the rude service I agreed to bringing the food back and asked for a refund. I instead went over to a different Thai restaurant and ordered the exact same items for 20 -25% less. Food is not worth the price and issues.
This is my favorite Thai restaurant and I eat at many Thai restaurants. The staff is always friendly and the food is great. They also remember us even though they have a lot of people and we rarely need to wait for a table. Awesome place!

While the food and drinks were a solid 8/10, the customer service from the staff except the bartender left me feeling unwanted, uncomfortable, and a bother. The waitresses were rude, and it took me off guard as I said nothing to warrant it. The owner or managers need to make sure this behavior is corrected as I have dined at several places in 2024, but this customer service experience was my worst.
My brothers and I came here for happy hour after seeing it advertised on social media, not realizing it was limited to the bar area. Despite asking multiple times, they wouldn’t accommodate us, so we sat at the bar. The martinis and mojitos were excellent, and the bartender provided great service—the only one who did. After my brother left to pick up my nephews, I waited in the main seating area, where the uncomfortable looks from the waitresses made me uneasy. When my brothers returned, I ordered another drink and appetizer at the bar, which upset a waitress. While I understand the rule, some flexibility would have improved the experience. The bar stools were small and uncomfortable, but the food was solid (8/10—highly recommend the salmon rolls). Unfortunately, the service was a 1/10, saved only by the bartender’s effort. The rest of the staff needs to improve their customer service.

We ordered: Thai Tea Latte, Nam Tok, Spring Rolls, Curry Puffs, Kapow Fried Rice, Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Cry Baby Noodles, Drunken Noodles, Thai Tea Creme Brulee, Bubble Thai Tea Mousse Cake and the Siam Mule.
Price is bit expensive tor thai food but it was tasty. Food portion is small compared to other competitors tho.
The food was pretty good. The spring rolls with the sweet & sour sauce were amazing. I just wish we got more. They only give you 4 spring rolls. Since I was there with my husband, we each got 2 spring rolls. For dinner, I ordered the Dok Khao Pad Thai but requested that they leave off the spicy sauce and the crushed peanuts. It was good but very sweet. Our waiter was very nice. In fact, everyone there was super nice. It's actually very pretty inside. The decorations and color choices are beautiful.
This is so cute and charming spot for Christmas season!! Love the bar happy hour and appetizers are fire.
It was a wonderful experience. Loved everything !

The atmosphere was welcoming and the food was delicious.
Paid (and tipped!) online so when I got to the restaurant my food would be ready and I could just eat at the bar and get a beverage. Was told I can’t do that and I have to order inside and pay inside? Won’t be back. Food quality is inconsistent. Takes forever to get a drink here, the staff is rude. Go elsewhere.
Great Thai!
we were greeted and seated pretty quick, The ambiance is very nice here as well, Lots of shops and a ice rink right outside! Will be back soon!
Best ever.
I'm not THAT big of a fan of Thai HOWEVER this place was delicious! For an appetizer- Spicy Coconut Rice...it was refreshing and so good!! We almost only wanted that!! Highly recommend. The pad Thai with Chicken was also delish along with the Spicy Daisy drink were a hit....
Nothing fancy just good food, good service and friendly atmosphere.
Very good

Cute spot, kinda cramped inside.
The pad thai was okay. It lacked flavor, which is why I said it was just okay.
Crab racoon and calamari were very good. Thai iced tea was also very good.
Service was a little slow, but not too bad.
We will probably be back, but if the kbbq place doesn't have a wait we would go there instead.
Awesome food!!!
Update: I gave it another chance and I will say nothing has changed in fact the Drunken noodles this time were tasteless! I’m not sure what people like about the food here but it’s a no for me and I won’t be returning! Bangkok in Arlington has some great Thai food!
OP: I am a Thai food lover and this place fell short for me. I ordered drunken noodles and the flavors were there however the vegetables were over cooked and so were the noodles. The noodles were short, gummy, and too soft to eat with chopsticks or a fork that I had to use a spoon. The spring rolls were great perhaps I will give this place another try in the future and try something else from the menu.
This location has inviting decor for a street side restaurant located in stonebridge where parking in front is limited but parking is in walking distance. I’ve dined inside, on the patio, and carry out. Meals arrive hot and tasty. Modified meals are honored and you may order wine and various spirits. Nice dining atmosphere. I meet my friends here occasionally. The patio overlooks the plaza’s center green where kids play and parents sit in the sun turned ice skating rink in the winter time. Prices are like city prices leaning towards on the higher end for Thai Cuisine in this area. There are up charges for healthier options like brown rice. During Covid, Menus arrive in paper copy or a qr code can be scanned. Now, they are back to hardcopy menus. Napkins, chopsticks, soy sauce are now offered. During Covid, these extra items were sparse, you have to ask for these. Now they are getting back to normal. This restaurant can be full during happy hour, evenings, and weekends. Find side street parking or more parking on the outer perimeters of the town center.
I had only eaten via takeout and it was very good🥡but my family & I decided to have a sit-down, eat-in meal this beautiful fall 🍂 Sunday afternoon...☝🏽And let me tell you the food,🍲 service🙂 and atmosphere🌞 was A1 💯% AWESOME 🙌🏾...We Will Be Back!!😋
I really enjoy this place! I’ve eaten her a few times now and it hasn’t disappointed. The food is great, but i especially appreciate the service. All very attentive and kind staff!
Incredible Incredible Incredible! Some of the better Thai food I've ever had. Everything is cooked and seasoned perfectly and the flavors they have here bring you on a journey! They have a lot of fun cocktails, a great desert menu, and everyone there is so so kind. I wish I lived in the area so I could go weekly!!!
First time ordering food from here. We ordered four dishes (Take Out). All medium Spicy.
1)Red Curry Salmon
-Taste was really good. Salmon a little overcooked for our liking.
2)Drunken Noodles w/ Tofu
-Taste was good but could have been better. A little too sweet and tasted like it was sweet chili flavor instead of Thai basil flavor that usually what we find in any other Thai restaurant.
3)Spicy Eggplant w/Tofu
- Taste was good but could have been better. It was more on the sweeter side with sweet chili sauce taste rather than Basil in Tangy black bean sauce mentioned in the menu.
4) Crispy Pork basil.
- Again, taste was good but could have been better. Same issue as in other basil dishes we ordered. Sweeter with Sweet Chili sauce flavor and less spicy Basil taste.
Dishes with Spicy basil sauce has always been my favorite and I know the authentic taste, from my experience of trying thai food at hundreds of thai restaurant including the ones in Thailand.
My overall experience with food was good. But NOT the best. I would recommend them to go a little easy on the sweet chili sauce. I don’t believe it belongs in every dish. I would want to try other dishes on the menu but I’m a little skeptical about other dishes being the same. Hope my review will help the restaurant cater the customers better with improvement. We would like more of an authentic thai food rather than catering to make it more Americanized flavor.

I wish this place had been open back when I lived in Woodbridge. It is so good! They have pretty unique things on their menu I’ve never seen at other Thai places. Everything we have tried from there has been a hit. I get their Khao Soi half the time I’m there and it’s still one of my favorites. Their Thai Tea Sticky Rice dish is also really good and pretty fun to order.
I have eaten here multiple times since my original review, and this restaurant is top notch. The service is awesome, the food comes out super fast, and inside is beautiful!
The food was amazing. Customer service was not great. The waitress seemed irritated when asked for anything, napkins, straw and even a to go container.
The meal I received from this Thai restaurant was underwhelming, with bland flavors that lacked the vibrant spices I expected from your standard thai spot. The portions were small for the price, and the Thai noddles were overcooked, chicken was dry, and rice was more mushy than appetizing. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I’m unlikely to order from here again.
Had lunch at this restaurant with a friend today (8/12/24). I was greeted and seated for indoor dining right away. We ordered our food and it came right away since I was the first customer/table. My friend ordered Pad Thai and I ordered Lamb Two Season. Pad Thai was delicious, the Lamb was a bit chewy and salty to my tastings.
We were distracted the whole time we were eating because of the flies that kept trying to land on our food. At one point, I almost knocked down my drink trying to swat the flies away. I told the waitress that there’s so many flies around our table/food that this is not okay. She basically just said okay!
Needless to say, I will not go back there again since they don’t seem to care about the cleanliness and health issues that flies brings.
Very disappointed!
Best Pad Thai I've had in quite a while. Good spring rolls. Great service. Nice atmosphere. I'll be back!
The girlfriend and I stopped here on our way back from a weekend trip to DC for some late lunch.
Honestly I wasn't super impressed, and I absolutely love Thai food.
I got the Dok Khao Pad Thai which is a Pad Thai but slightly modified for their own special house version. I ordered it because that sounds super interesting and I've never seen a variation like that before, but it wasn't impressive. Pad Thai is such a wonderful and unique dish, but they just made it taste boring, mostly just soy sauce flavor, like any other dish. The chicken was also a bit dry. I wished I had just ordered a regular Pad Thai instead, it would have been more exciting. At least I requested no peanuts and they listened.
My girlfriend ordered the Jungle Lover. I tried some of it, too. The fried tofu that it came with was also kind of boring and flavorless. But the real problem was that it was ridiculous how spicy the sauce was. Don't get me wrong, I can eat just about anything in terms of spiciness. But my girlfriend's tolerance isn't superhuman and this dish was just way too spicy for something ordered at "stock" spiciness. This tasted like something you might get if you ordered 2 or 3 star "Thai" spicy at any normal Thai restaurant. That's inedible to most people. My girlfriend powered through it but she wasn't thrilled. :(
The bathroom was also a bit of a problem. It's weird that there's glass on the door and anybody can kind of see your only semi-opaque silhouette if you're in there doing your business. But the worst part was.... there was some old doo-doo ground into the floor right in front of the toilet! Nasty!! Come on.
All that said, the service was great and friendly, and the water kept flowing. If only my girlfriend didn't need to drink so much of it since her face was melting off. :(
Overall, I don't see much reason to return.
I love coming to this restaurant. It is a cozy environment and the staff tends to remember you, that is always a great feeling for a customer. The food is always good and they have added some new dishes yeah!
I found a very long hair in my eggplant dish. The waitress apologized and got me a new meal. Half way through the meal, I found a hair in that one as well. The waitress took it and I asked that it be taken off the bill. I would have expected someone to come to our table to talk to us and offer an apology. That did not happen. Most restaurants would offer greater apologies and even greater accomodation. This used to be my favorite restaurant, but I won't be back.
Beautiful restaurant, friendly service, and absolutely delicious food!
The service needs improvement. I was seated and the server didn't bother to greet me when I said hello FIRST. He just mumbled to ask if I wanted to order an appetizer. I almost walked out but I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. I told him to come back so I could look over the menu. All of our orders didn't come out at the same time. I had to flag down someone twice. One for the other order and one for the check. The man never even checked to see how we liked the food or if I was ready for the bill. I didn't bother tipping which is a rarity for me. The service just sucked that badly and I felt unwelcome as if someone owed them a visit. There are many other restaurants in this area to choose from and I have never gotten service like this from others. Highly recommend Not Your Average Joe’s or Firebirds.
Been here several times and always love the food. It is one of my wife and my favorite places for date night.
Website doesn’t allow to order online
LOVE IT
Yum yum in my tum. I love Thai food It was very yummy. Loved the yellow curry and pad Thai. My mouth was very parched that day and luckily they were very quick with the water refills. The decorations were stunning I love green. Yum yum will soon be back to fill my tum tum
Very nice restaurant in the Woodbridge area. Service was fast and and friendly. The waiter knew what I wanted when I asked for kao kapow gai sub. (They called it some other name). It's a fine diced chicken with basil and spice dish that is quite spicy delightful. Prices were moderate and I also enjoyed the jasmine tea. Don't know when I will be back, but it's on my list.
This place SUCKS super hard. Behind all the kids screaming in the background, and my incredibly white bland Pad Thai, I wasted about $70 here.
Not worth it at all, please do not spend your money here. The place is cheaply decorated to look expensive, and it is situated right next to the center fountains so I hope you enjoy the sound of kids screaming the entire times
The service was slow at best, the food was bland and the place is cheaply decorated. Definitely a money pit and a scam.
We went there to celebrate a special occasion, little did we know that the price of the dishes were way overpriced. The food was less than OK and the portion of the dishes were very small. The bill for about 10 people was over $550.00. It was not worth the price spent at all. The only good thing was their service. Other than that... nothing special about this place.
This is my all time favorite Thai restaurant. The food is consistently tasty!
I have Celiac Disease so I need gluten free options. This use to be a great place for that. Sadly, they are reducing the options. Last time I went, some of the GF marked items, we were told, were no longer GF. I wish they would go back to how it use to be.
Enjoyed going here, the food and drinks were so good. Price seemed reasonable to me, a little gimmicky on some things but still worth a try.
Immediate add to my "Holy Grail" list. Dok Khao was fantastic - Service wasted no time and was so kind. Our food was out of this world good - the roti was buttery, the fried egg on the spicy minced chicken was CRISPY, and the curries were decadent. The highlight of our visit was the Kana crispy pork - I'll be dreaming about that dish for a while!
Their desserts looked amazing and we've heard great things about them, but we ended up too full to try this time. We're super excited to come back and try more things here! This will be a regular spot for us.
Had an excellent brunch with a large group on Saturday. Our waiter Bryce was extremely organized and attentive and got our food and drinks out super fast. Will definitely come back again, I highly recommend!
I ordered a soup and I was the only one out of 4 people to never receive my meal. I took it to go. Very bad service for my food.
Great service today! My husband and I usually order takeout and love it. Today, I went with a big group and the had a great time. The place is beautiful. Our server, Brice, was attentive and organized. Food was amazing!
We ordered family style here and everyone enjoyed all of the various dishes that were shared at the table. They have good vegetarian options and they were also able to accommodate dietary preferences (such as no eggs in the fried rice). The mocktail drinks were really nice and portions for the food were good.
We were stuffed at the end, really recommended.
Dok Khao salad w/grill chicken was the Bomb. We sat outside and what the families interact. It was very relaxing.
The Thai food restaurant offered a delightful dining experience with its inviting ambiance, complemented by attentive customer service and vibrant energy!
Our favorite Thai restaurant. Delightful atmosphere and staff. Delicious food.
I used to love this restaurant, but it has declined. I would only go and eat inside. Every time I get it to go order is wrong. Last week I just got a simple order of shrimp fried rice and it was completely burnt.
The best thai food we have had in a LONG time. The restaurant had such a cute atmosphere. The service though, THE SERVICE WAS TOP NOTCH!!! The hostess was so friendly and sat us quicker than estimated. Now our waiter (younger and wish I grabbed his name) was so attentive and we totally didn't feel rushed. Appetizers and entree were not on top of each other, He checked in on us and waited. Timed perfectly!! If we lived here we would be back for every meal we ate out!
Food was okay, not out of the world. Wonton soup was bland on the other hand, tom yum soup was too salty. Drinks were okay too, we have two types of their Thai tea.
Atmosphere was good, great for Instagram but what I dislike about this kind of places are their too much rushing. I get it they might be busy, but the waiters are too much formal, will take the dishes almost one second after you might have finished, and talk to you in a very robotic manner with no smile. I don't remember who, but one of the male servers was an exception.
Maybe I will go there again for pictures, I do not know. But definitely will choose a more quiet time.
Great Food, specially Tom Yam soup.
I use to order TO GO at this restaurant often a few years ago. Up until one day I decided to eat at the establishment and they gave me a hard time about my service animal being with me. As soon as the waiter saw my servics dog he ran to the owner and she immediately came over. Without asking me anything, she angrily asked me to take my dog outside in the cold (it was maybe 10 degrees out). I took my dogs service animal ID out, and explained to her the service my dog provides to me due to my OBVIOUS disability. The manager looked at the ID and was not interested in what i explained to her, plus my dog had her designated vest on. Then the manager asked me to put my Service dog under the table so no one can see her and the manager explained she would not allow my dog to sit next to me. The tables next to me spoke up to the manager and to the waiter on my behalf and told them that was not right for her to do that. I decided to leave even though I could have made a big deal out of it. Figured if they don't want me there I was not about to pull a Karen about it. This apparently upset the family sitting next to me (I don't blame them) and they decided to leave also. I'm thankful that there were people there that had my back, but the manager at Dok Khao will never have my business, or that of my friends and family again. Looking back at that day does bother me and I've considered reporting the restaurant as a violator of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
This is the first negative review I've left in a very long time, for what you get this place is ridiculously overpriced. 6 shrimps and some broccoli for $20. The food tastes good but the portions are unacceptable.
Outstanding! We make a point to eat here every time we are in town.
Great food and service. Very patient and helpful staff. Love the food. Good value
Came to this restaurant to try some good food however once we were seated no server came to our table we waited a while and nothing. Servers kept passing us and serving other people, we didn’t even get water. And the restaurant was not even full or busy, if it was I’d understand. Awful service.
I always look for a place that makes Larb Gai the way I like it. I prefer mine spicy, tangy and fresh. Some Thai places just make it too sweet for me. This place made it just right! Very good portion and full of flavor. The papaya salad was also great! Saved as one of my favorites for next time I’m in the area.
Tasty just Tasteee!!
Amazing food and also fast and helpful service. All our plates were amazing. Very impressed. Drinks were also amazing such as the strawberry lemonade.
Loved the food and atmosphere. Not too pricey. Try the chive cakes
The strawberry lemonade was very good. I liked that they served two sauces, cucumber and peanut, for the chicken Satay. The Mango parfait was decent but the sticky rice was a but tough and like a paste. It was served with Mango ice cream which is not common. The decor was nice and the service was OK. The place was a little bit bigger than I expected and was crowded.
Arguably the best Thai food in town. The food is great and so is the service. The only drawback is the open-air approach makes for a somewhat noisy experience. Even with that, this is a go-to place. Unlike some restaurants, where there are only a few items on the menu that look good – everything here looks good. We will be back again and again.
The food was good
Lovely atmosphere. Very whimsical and fun decor.
Unfortunately, the Duck roll appetizers were sub par - they were very chewy and packed flavor.
One of the staff asked me about the food and removed the appetizer from my bill - an appreciated and appropriate gesture.
The bad side is, some of the staff laughed at my complaint as they talked in their native language - bad etiquette.
I ordered a beer just as a courtesy to the establishment. Smh.
My favorite restaurant in Potomac town ctr. Great service and high quality food
I have been influenced by family to try this restaurant out, and after being there once I proceeded to get all my family and friends obsessed with it!! Coming from someone who's been to Thailand, the food here is always a 10/10. Always great atmosphere and service. Highly recommend. I recommend the cry baby noodles, pad si ew and the fried bananas are a must try!
A hidden gem of Woodbridge - absolutely delicious and amazing. 🤩
Probably the worst food I’ve had. Service was okay but the food was not quality.
Food is always hot, delicious, and prepared perfectly. Highly recommend the fresh fruit punch.
Ok! So this place has great food hands down! I have ate here 3 times. I dined once inside, and twice we ordered take out. This particular review is about my takeout experience tonight. So both my entrees came with white rice, but one of my boxes of rice was balled up in a plastic bag. It wasnt cooked all the way or overcooked in a way that it was stuck together.👀 The other box was filled normal like a box of white rice. It's hard to explain so I took plenty pictures. I still gave the place 4 starts overall but I was very disappointed with this experience! So I would say check your food before leaving when ordering takeout.
This place is 👌 awesome! A great atmosphere and the food is delicious. At first I thought of Thai food as too spicy. But no, after having Chicken Satay with vegetable spring rolls dipped in a sauce....Yummy, I will eat there many more times. The Service was great. The atmosphere is so pleasant. The flowers on the table are real and if you get a drink, they put a small but real flower in the drink. I had a virgin daiquiri...soo good! I highly recommend eating here.
Tasty! I had the Crispy Basil Duck which was really very good, but not enough duck for the price. I literally had 5 small slices of duck, which resulted in my ordering the Bronzino because I was still hungry. It was very good. Crispy outside yet not too dry. To be fair I didn’t eat the rice which would have surely filled me up. But in spending $22 on an entree I don’t want rice to fill me up. My friend texted me after we got home to say she was still hungry as well. She also had the Bronzino. Service was great! Forgot to take pictures. Will definitely return.
First time trying this joint and we are impressed!!! We like the light airy feeling of the place with the nice crew serving the food.. The chicken wrap with 3 sauces was so tasty and filling, the carrots, chicken and the lettuce were fresh and complimented any of the sauce that came with it.. The crispy lemon chicken was on point with the lemony, tangy sauce.. Decorations are nice and chill.
I’ve been eating here for the past 2 years and this place has obviously loss the good chef. I’ve given them several tries and it is just always nasty now. I normally order crab fried rice or veggie fried rice and it has been at least 8 months since it’s been good. I won’t waste anymore money here. Tonight’s veggie fried rice tastes like white rice with veggies in it and it’s dry!
Minced chicken w fried egg and rice, pork pad sea ew and pork drunken noodles on point. I especially appreciated it bc it wasn't too saucy, its more of a flavorful dry flat rice soft noodle which to me is authentic. Been to Thailand twice and this place has the most authentic flavors. Their side spices are perfect as well. I was so hungry I forgot to take photos. Will add next time. Also their portion size is perfect too. Price is around 17-18 dollars which is a little high. Usually you can get these dishes for closer to 14-16 dollars. However, I do think the quality makes up for the additional couple dollars. Our server was good but the front host desk could've been better organized or equipped to handle customers coming in to dine and pick up food.
Always good food and service at this establishment. Highly recommend.
Had food delivered. Food smelt horrible! Instantly threw up after eating, and was not good!
Dok Khao's interior is a stunning blend of modern and traditional Thai aesthetics. Lush greenery mingles with sleek wooden accents, creating a space that's both inviting and chic.
Don't miss their signature Khao Soi, a rich and creamy curry noodle soup with crispy-fried egg noodles and tender chicken.
Also, they have a selection of vegetarian and vegan options. The service is impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff.
I have had take out from here multiple times and it is always delicious! Can't wait to dine in!
