Fresh Spring Roll: it’s made out of spinach which is def different and tasted weird.
Crispy Spring Roll: Not fully cooked. The wrapped was chewy.
Golden Thai: Tasted good and good portion.
Thai Beef Salad: Tasted good also but really tiny portions and very over priced. The portion they give you should’ve costs $5 and not $10.
I ordered the green curry, drunken noodles, and some Pho noodles this afternoon and all of it was the worst food I’ve ever had. No flavor, no seasoning and you can tell the people who put it together didn’t even care about the quality. It was sloppy, my green curry was poured all over the rice, by the time I got home my rice had absorbed all the liquid and it was mushy and bland. The drunken noodles had no sauce on them or seasoning. They threw dry noodles and some veggies in a Bowl. I didn’t bother taking pictures because the food was quickly thrown into the trash.
I’m sick in bed today and I really needed some decent food. I’m so disappointed in this place that I just had to say something.
Please don’t waste your money here. It’s already hard enough finding good food in this area, but this place should be ashamed of what they are feeding to the people. Unacceptable in my opinion and I will not be coming back. My advice to the owners, look into better take out boxes, especially for the green curry and maybe try caring about the quality of your food and keeping it consistent.
TL;DR: Food was decent. I wouldn’t choose to eat here but I would eat here if I was hungry. Plenty of parking. The taste of the spice they put in was great but the other flavors unfortunately were not.
Specific Foods:
Garlic and Pepper Tofu: 5.8/10
Drunken Noodles: 6.2/10
Special Attention: Have to ask for utensils on carry out orders

Can I just say they have such a cute cozy place! I absolutely love their food! My 9 yr old is a picky eater when we go out but she loves this place ! The spring rolls are her favorite and the appetizers especially. Loved the fried rice and the curries. I have been here 3x and had different dishes and we are never disappointed. The customer service is always on point and sweet!
Only staff member we seen that day was very attentive and helpful. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was fine and no issues. Rated 3 because it really could use a remodel.

Awesome Thai Food in Williamsburg! This place should be packed every night!
Some of the best pad thai I've ever had
I ordered the Panang Curry with Tofu and it was wonderful! They made it very quickly and followed up with a phone call after I placed my order online to let me know it would be ready soon.

Consistently great tasting Thai food! Employees work hard and offer great service. This is such a local gem.
Very nice experience, good staff and awesome food!! The best in Williamsburg!
We got the Pad Thai and the Crab Fried Rice. Both were really good. Servers were sweet and attentive.
The taste of food is not as good as Thai food. The next door Bangkok restaurant has way better taste and portion.

The food was excellent!
Great food. Great staff. They have their wine but you can still bring your own.
The food was good a little sweeter than any other thai place I've encountered. We ordered take out. My husband gave her a $10 tip for a take out order, we recieved a 10% local discount, mind you, he gave her a $10 tip on a take out order, he had a $50 bill, the order was like $52.44, he walked out to the car to get the $2.44, she would not accept the cash and then charge my card the $2.44, so I got the fifty back and paid the total with my card. You would think since he gave her a $10 tip on a take out order, maybe just maybe that could have been covered with the tip she recieved. Considering the portions were very small for the price, prices online were very different than what we were charged. But the food was good even though it wasn't very much of it. I guess common decency isn't a thing anymore. No more tips on take out orders anymore because it doesn't even go to the chef and I think the lady was one of the owners. Not sure whether we will return or not. And yes I know WE gave the tip but really she should have at least offered. It's kinda unbelievable the greed in people.

Tons of vegetarian options. Very Authentic taste. We loved pineapple fried rice. Most underrated place. Must go!!
Always good food and excellent service. Our Go-to everything we're in town for Bush Gardens and Water Country USA summer family trip.
Never appears to be open
We ordered six dishes here and they were all excellent. Very reasonable prices too.
It's a very sweet place. The food is absolutely delicious. Once I asked for my dish to be made without fish sauce because I'm vegetarian, the server came back a couple times to make sure I was ok with other ingredients. The servers are as sweet as can be. They even helped us to figure out the music playlist that they were listening to. When we ordered dessert Grandma came from the back and personally made the desserts. You can taste the yummy love. There's not a whole lot in the way of decoration but again I'm okay with that, that's not why I come to a restaurant. They have an outside eating area, that seems to be unused. They have a patio heater. We will go back.
Small local business with good food and prices. We were seated right away and our server was friendly. The food came out quickly and was very good. My pad thai was sweeter than I am used to, but very tasty. My husband loved his teriyaki chicken. All in all a great meal.
We were going to go to the place next door but as soon as they saw us they turned off their open lights. Super rude. About 25 minutes before closing time too. Then we realized this place was right next to it, we went there instead. They were so nice. We had the best matcha bubble tea we've ever had. The food was great!
Definitely support this place, really great customer service and the food didn't disappoint.
Great food and staff.
Lovely restaurant, pleasant and comfy! Very pretty atmosphere!
Food was Outstanding!
The food and service were great, but the restaurant needs some TLC.
didn't give me what I ordered extra spicy was very mild......
An unforgettable choice.
Their Thom Ka soup is exquisite, way above what other Thai restaurants usually offer on average: fragrant, veggies, great taste. And the aroma of their papaya salad is unforgettable, the type of dish you will remember even10years later, a whole different animal compared to any papaya salad I have seen before.
They really try to offer an original take for traditional Thai recipes, with fresh and high quality ingredients.
Quaint little family restaurant, clean, nice space, with fast service, very nice people, discreet.
Definitely a great choice.
The food was tasteless, even though one person in our party had medium spice. It was absurdly expensive. Mediocre at best.
Absolutely delicious some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had! The papaya salad and pad Thai were exquisite 👌🏽
The food was spot on delicious, for Thai Basil. The service was a bit slow, but the place was full. The atmosphere was just simple, nothing unique or Thai specific. I would certainly return.
I ordered a shrimp fried rice and the shrimp fried rice was really good! :)
15/10 Good food! Drunken Noodles was great! One of the best Thai restaurant in the area. Would highly recommend to people who want a quick Thai meal.
Didn't live up to expectations.
Thai food is my favorite and this place is a no go. It is not authentic Thai and everything tastes very processed.
This is the best Thai food in Williamsburg. I’ve been eating food for over 40 years and this is the only one that satisfy my taste.
Good family cooking. They have Northern Thai cuisine which I want to try next time. Very fresh and tasty.
My pad see ew was not very good but customer service was great.
Delicious food and good service 😋.
Really good food
A great family owned place with friendly service. We ordered the Drunken Noodle with the combination seafood (ordered hot) and it was excellent. The larb was very tasty. This is our second time at Lanna Thai and we will return.
Don't judge a book by it's cover. Food was amazing and very well priced.
We just enjoyed an awesome lunch here - the service was great, the food was really delicious (especially seafood Tom Kha), and it was a nice quiet spot.
Great food, good price
Good place for family
The older woman was not very welcoming. Like she seemed bothered. But the food is decent.
Good food overall compared to the other restaurants in Williamsburg. Their Thai tea was the best Thai tea I tried in VA. Their wings were really good and the batter was light and you can dip them in basil sauce. We ordered pad Thai and curry.
I gave the service 1 star because the server was giving us attitude and the couple behind us. She was rude that some of the customers left.
My pad Thai was undercooked and dry. My wife’s food wasn’t good either. Definitely don’t recommend this place. We were really excited to try it so definitely disappointed that it wasn’t good.
1st Thai restaurant we have tried in Williamsburg. Wow! The food has an amazing flavor, service is excellent and so friendly. Prices are right on point. The flavor, have I mentioned that? The Massaman curry was love in a bowl! My husband had the dragon roll (sushi) and it was devine! Definitely recommend and we will certainly be back!
It can be very hard to find delicious Thai food done right. The green curry and the pad Thai here were both top notch! Will order take out here again.
I'm currently a Junior in college and this is my go-to spot for any small celebration or need for comfort. It's about a 15-30 minute walk from campus and a 5-10 minute car ride. Food is 100/100 DELICIOUS and affordable (I recommend going during lunch hours for best prices), and the staff is attentive and accommodating. Between the big windows, cultural decorations, and Hit 100 music, the vibes of the restaurant are pretty great. Also has a carryout option but no delivery yet.
Nothing pretentious but really good food.
Very disappointing! One entrée had lots of cheap vegetables as "filler" in the dish. The Chicken of the other entrée was super dry and partially burnt from frying. Restrooms dirty. Save your money and stay away.
Amazing food and much needed after a hot, busy day at Busch Gardens. We felt relaxed and welcome, friendly service and very kind staff.
All the food was delicious and well-presented (heart-shaped rice ♥️). Would absolutely recommend!
Delicious and great portions
Really great Thai food. They definitely know their way around Thai cuisine!
I will go there again and again for the food. Lots of great choices, all packed with flavor. The Tom Kah was excellent, s was the Las Vegas Roll. Loved the crispy duck!
Great food. Good service.
Nice little Thai restaurant. I had the Tom Kha and was some of the freshest, well presented and flavored I’ve ever had. The pinnacle fried rice was simply to die for and portion size well appropriate to price point. I’ll be back.
Great Vibes+Fabulous Food= Marvelous Time With My Family!
Food was great, prices are good, service was quick and friendly. Will definitely return!!
Horrible Service!!!
Very salty & old/hard/stale chicken.
Never order from here again.
You will be disappointed!
The best Thai food in Williamsburg. Everything is delicious.
The best pad Thai in the world.
Excellent food and excellent service
Great food, freshly prepared. Excellent service. Outdoor seating.
Tasty
They had a table right away and the staff was friendly and attentive. Food was hot, well cooked and delicious. We both had Pad See Ew, my husband was beef, mine was tofu. Mine not spicy at all by request, his mild and both were perfect. I also had fresh rolls and he had fried wonton. And reasonably priced.
Good food although can sometimes mix up orders like they did for my friend when she ordered pad Thai. Not a usual occurrence though and let me reiterate the food is delicious
The Panang curry and Thai Iced tea are so good, y'all should try.
This is the best Thai food I've eaten since Thailand, and as equally delicious as any meal I ate there. The pad Thai has the perfect sauce/noodle/toppings ratio. The coconut soup is perfectly balanced. The seafood quality is good. Every person in our party was so pleased. We are visiting here from out of town and have eaten at this restaurant multiple times during our trip. You know when certain meals just make you happy and a bit euphoric? This food does that for me. 10/10 recommend.
One of the best Thai restaurant in town !!!
Hunglae Curry was to die for!
Excellent authentic food. Nice atmosphere and friendly service.
Very mediocre Thai food. The drunken noodles were overcooked and mushy. The seasoning was bland. Zero umami. The Thai Basil was also very bland, and not at all spicy. It was slightly better than the drunken noodles in that it was edible. Tasted like crock pot stir fry. This was my first and only time eating here. I wish I would have tried one of the other two Thai places first before eating here.
Service was great, food came out quick, and tasted flavorful. Would go back!
When we walked in, we were greeted very nicely and sat immediately. Ordered our food, and received it in about 10 min. We got an order of the Spring Rolls, I got the Lad Na with Beef and Crispy Noodles, my wife got the Chicken Pad See Ew. Everything was made and served piping hot.
The spring rolls were very crunch, and had a great taste.
Both of our dishes had great flavor with a good amount of heat.
Will definitely go back when we are in Williamsburg.
Horrible place. Date night began as a nightmare for wife and I at this place. Customer service is beyond awful, it's nonexistent! Over 20+ minutes after being seated, the server never came by once...not even to get our drink order at the very least. She was one person doing three jobs which was ridiculous and neglectful and exploiting both the customers and her as an employee by watering down the service to all the customers and trying to save money as a business by only have 1 employee managing it all. She was running the carry out, being the only server, and being the hostess. After 20 minutes with no attention, we got up and walked out. Luckily there was another Thai restaurant--Bangkok Garden- right up the street and it turned out to be a great place. In hindsight, we should have just gone to Bangkok Garden first.
Best Thai food in the area likely the region. Several staples and northern Thai dishes. Tom yum and all dishes are perfectly seasoned, hot dishes are actually hot, food is affordable, service excellent.
Relocated from DC area and found this to be the best Thai food around.
Great food from Malaysia and Bangkok. Can be as hot as you like.
But it was pretty good I was sterily surprised I forgot to take a picture of my entry but it was very good
Lanna Thai is easily the best traditional northern Thai restaurant in Williamsburg (possibly in the tidewater region too) Each dish is packed with flavor, seasoned with skill, and plated with love. Take a friend, a loved one, or go by yourself and enjoy a private getaway to feed your soul.
Service and food dishes are great
I had the tom yum, the egg rolls, the curry, the duck and it was all wonderful. I have tried several Thai places in the area and so far this one is my favorite. I love it, though I missed the Cozy Patio that used to be there. This is a respectable replacement.
So this is a little bit of an update years it's 2023 now later this is one of my favorite spots in all of the Newport News Williamsburg Hampton area. Absolutely my favorite Thai spot, almost everything on the menu is Top Notch, the pad prhik King is amazing, definitely got some of the best fried dumplings around, the Thai fried rice is like a game changer, and without a doubt I really really do love the chicken wings they do and with the basil sauce. The only negative I can come up with has to do with the pad thai, it's sweeter and if you don't like your pad thai too sweet you might not like this, but I love it and it's just great so yeah try this place is awesome.
This was my first time trying Lanna Thai Cuisine. I must say it was a pleasant surprise. The service and food were great. I will definitely be back to eat there again. I had Pineapple Fried Rice and it was good!!
This family owned restaurant was everything! The service was superb and the food was excellent. I will definitely return when I'm in the area.
The experience was great when me and my friend were AT the restaurant one night, the food came out fast and service was decent. However, we had food leftovers and I took it home, two days after, when I tried to finish it in the morning, I found a piece of rusted metal wire inside of the food, mixed with the Pad Thai noodles. It is thin and short so I didn’t find it when I was packing the leftover. Fortunately I did not get hurt, but it really disgusted me. Be aware.
Ordered take out from here and it was rough. Flavors were off and I’ve eaten a lot of Thai.
People were nice, food was bland though
Good curries and stir fry
I only passing through town. Like Thai Northen menu option.
Horrible service. We stood at the door ignored for more than 5 minutes and then were told to wait while they seated people who came behind us.
Delicious food. Friendly environment. Reasonable prices. Quantity of food was good. It checked all the boxes for us Thai food lovers.
Excellent place if you like Thai food. Good prices, excellent service and great food. Portions are generous and food was fresh and hot. Really good flavors. If you are in the area you really need to try this place.
Best pad Thai I’ve ever had. Sauce is soooo sweet. Loved it!
First time ordering from here- will be the last… ordered a Noodle dish. They were overdone to the point of being mush. Flavoring was bland. And the price on the online menu was much different than what I was charged. Disappointing…..
Our experience was great! We are a family with an 11 and 13 year old. The service was excellent and the food was the best Thai we’ve had in years. As always, be careful with the heat….2 was more than enough for our normally heat-loving family!
Food is amazing. Never had a bad experience. Highly recommend
Excellent food and kind wait staff. We loved it!
We got at the restaurant at 5:15pm and no other customers. That gave us a worry. By 6 through a few others had arrived. It was utter quiet until then (no soft background music). Our two meals were only fair. They spring rolls were so small that it was mostly the fried "crust" we were eating. The sweet and sour chicken was ok but the sauce was much more diluted that kept from truly enjoying it.
Everything was ready incredibly fast, tasted great, and everyone working was incredibly nice! We got a wide variety of different things but it was still ready very quickly and it was all amazing. I thought the prices were great for the amount of food you get with each entree, especially considering this is a more “touristy” area. The pineapple fried rice is a new favorite of mine.
A must do, when we are visiting Williamsburg. Extraordinary flavors and options.
Simply amazing food
The food is amazing and the staff were very friendly!! Will definitely eat here every time I'm in Williamsburg!
Food and service were both very good!
Best Thai food I’ve ever had! Super fresh flavorful ingredients! Great service and environment! Totally underrated! Please support them!
Loved the food, the service, easy and accessible location. Really good Khao Soi, Crab Fried Rice and Pad Kra Pao
Most excellent dinner! Everything was perfect. Very friendly and attentive service. Will definitely return.
Closely similar Thai foods in Williamsburg.
The food is always tasty, hot and prepared quickly. There are a number of Thai restaurants within blocks of each other in this area, but this is the one we prefer.
This is my 'go-to' place for red curry and mango with sweet rice. With their convenient website for ordering online, I can specify how hot I want my curry and they always get it right. The staff here is friendly, and accommodating.
The food is good but the portions are small. The service is lackluster. Carryout is the way to go here.
I did not even bother with pictures. All I can say is the drunken beef noodle that we ordered was so pale it almost look like it’s not good to eat. We’ve been to many Thai restaurants and we live in northern VA and DC area so we are acquainted with good restaurants.
The duck basil that we’ve ordered is lack luster. Very little basil, no kick like most of the ones weve had in the past. The duck was crispy which was good but everything else in that dish was MEH.. even the brown rice had an odd taste that I didn’t eat it cz I got afraid I’ll have a stomach upset. I’m Asian too so I’m very particular with food quality. I cook well and I want my money spent to be worth it. This is the first and last on this place.
I lowered this review by one star because this restaurant plays games to increase their apparent rating. They sent and email asking how many stars I would rate. If I clicked "3", I was directed to their web site. If I clicked "5" I was directed to the rating page.
Now to actually talk about the food and service...Our order was supposed to be ready for pickup at 6:36. I received an email from the restaurant around that time stating that the order was ready for pickup. Once I got there, I had to wait nearly an hour for our order. That's pretty unacceptable if you ask me and enough to keep me from ordering there again. The food was OK - nothing objectionable but I've definitely had better. I'd like to think they prioritize meals for people dining there (vs. pickup), so maybe if you plan to do that, it'd be OK
Great food always and always on time when we do take out
Came here with my family for dinner. Service was pretty good, I think they only had one waitress when we arrived, but the restaurant was quiet, so it wasn't an issue. Lots of traditional Thai options (including dessert) and when you order Thai Hot, you get Thai Hot! Definitely coming back next time we are in the area.
Thai food is amazing. I really love this place.
Sooo gooodddd
I've never dined in and I'm giving it 5 stars. That tells you how good it is. The portion are generous. I dream of the Tom Kah and Crispy Pad Thai. Really yummy dumplings, too. I need to venture out of my comfort zone and try something new. We moved here in April and have had Lanna's takeout maybe half a dozen times and get the same thing. The staff are really sweet as well. I have had nothing but great experiences here.
Great food but a bit pricey. Take out is best.
I’ve tried every Thai restaurant in Williamsburg and Lanna is by far the best one! I highly recommend!
Pineapple fried rice was really good. Loved the black pepper garlic sauce with pork.
We like our food, the Thai soup was great. The problem is the service is excruciatingly slow, I had to get up and seek our waiter. Portions are very small
Says its open, went at 4:15 pm to find the place closed. Hear someone inside, tried knocking on the door to ask at what time they'll open, but no one answered!
Super good Thai food at very reasonable prices. Very authentic, bold flavors. Would recommend to all in the area. Watch out for spice levels! I love spicy food and got a 2/5 and it was plenty spicy.
Very authentic Thai cuisine. Good prices, great food! Unassuming decor...not fancy, but very comfortable!
Absolutely delicious! I got the red curry, highly recommend! 🍛
Phenomenal food!!! Just tried this place for the first time tonight and it taste just like the homemade cuisine I’m accustomed to! Will definitely be back! The only reason I couldn’t rate it five stars is because of the portion size. The price for the portion size was somewhat disappointing but I can quickly get over it because they nailed the flavors perfectly!
The facility itself was a bit dirty, but the food and drink was amazing! As a Thai person, it tasted very authentic and I recommend it to anyone who is craving thai food. It does the job, and the portion sizes are great.
Having eaten at a lot of Thia places I cannot recommend this place unfortunately. The Pad Thai was overly sweet, dry not fresh chicken!
Food was fresh and definitely genuine Thai. Ordered drunken noodles with chicken medium spicy and found it too hot to enjoy. Reminded me of my first dish in Pattaya. Unfortunately, the noodles also were under cooked. Was visiting the area temporarily so won't get an opportunity to visit again anytime soon.
best pad Thai in williamsburg
A bit bland but okay for the price. Nothing to write home about.
I visited on vacation and loved it so much I went back the next day!
Thai hot, not so hot. Waited 20 minutes to be seated with only 1 other couple in the place.
We love the food at Lanna Thai! The service is also nice.
Full menu. Good red curry soup and rice.
My meal and my dad's meal were both fantastic. Excellent service too! I hope to be back
I got drunken noodles and they were really good, but my husband got the the crab fried rice and it was delicious!!
Very good and good service as well.
Best crispy chicken Pad Thai!!! Go here now 😉
