Takeout from here was excellent

Diner Review №2

This is my FAVORITE Thai restaurant!!! Not only is the food and service exceptional, but it is totally affordable. The portions are generous, even for take-out. The staff here are super friendly, kind, and attentive.

Some of my favorite drinks are Thai, Never Sleep (Thai Tea with coffee), Salted Plum Sparkling Soda, and Spicy Mango Sparkling Soda. Some of my favorite dishes are Tom Yum Soup, Crying Tiger Beef, Crispy String Beans, Papaya Salad, Khao Soi, Pad Thai, Boat Noodle Soup, Panang Curry, Green Curry, Drunken Noodles, Basil Fried Rice, and Pineapple Fried Rice.

Diner Review №3

Extremely rude customer service! Twice in a row!

Diner Review №4

⭐☆☆☆☆ - What Happened to This Place?

Kiin Imm Thai restaurant used to be great, but the new chef has completely ruined it. Every dish is drowned in soy sauce, masking any real flavor. The food tastes burned, and the sauces—if you can even call them that—are a disaster. Nothing pairs well, and it feels like the chef has no understanding of Thai cuisine. Such a disappointment from what it once was. Avoid until they get a real chef again!

The most incredible service here. Amazing food and cute space too!

Server was super kind and attentive. Drunken noodles were perfect and delicious

Diner Review №9

Best Thai food we’ve had in a long time!

Diner Review №10

Gem of a restaurant. Great food and service, love the smaller and relaxing atmosphere (and seasonal decor). One of our favorites!

Diner Review №11

Always so delicious! I love coming here. Amy’s service is so sweet!

Diner Review №12

Food was delicious, and server Amy was great! Definitely coming back soon!

Diner Review №13

Wonderful & enchanting!

Diner Review №14

This Thai restaurant has delicious dishes and great customer service. I always like Thai food and they have my favorite dishes. Good ambience as well.

Diner Review №15

Came here for lunch over the weekend and had a very relaxing time. Food was great, space was quiet, and service was very quick and attentive. I ordered a monthly special, fire a$$ noodle soup, 3/5 on spice, and it was just what I needed on a cold rainy day. They were easily able to swap the wheat noodles for rice noodles. My protein order came out wrong, but my server was very apologetic and offered to correct it. I stuck with the chicken and it was tasty. Also the Thai tea/coffee are amazing! Would definitely recommend you trying this spot!

Diner Review №17

Absolute magic on a plate. We went with the Pad Thai with chicken and Drunken Noodles with chicken, and let me tell YOU, every bite was like a flavor packed adventure.

And the drinks? The Never Sleep drink and Thai iced coffee were an ACTUAL chef’s kiss in liquid form. Sweet, refreshing, and just the right amount of indulgence to round out an amazing meal. 10/10 would come back again!

Diner Review №18

We had a disaster waiting 2 hours for our dishes on Christmas Eve. The management was professional and refunded our charges. We've consistently enjoyed their food. Do carry out usually.

Diner Review №19

Food is so so good, and the staff is so kind and accommodating. Great atmosphere, the fairy lights and plants are so cute and great for pictures.

I’m addicted to this place. One of the best Thai spots in the DMV without a doubt. The basil pork crisp is phenomenal and the basil fried rice is some my favorite fried rice I’ve ever had. Additionally, the drunken noodles and pad see ew are amazing.

Also, all the people who work here are so friendly and the service is always excellent. I live right across the street and this is by far the place I eat the most in Dunn Loring.

I just noticed that they changed the decorations to holiday/winter decorations. A few weeks ago they had fall colored leaf decorations. You can tell they really care about their business.

See you guys in a few days for my basil pork crisp!! :)

Diner Review №23

i’ve come here 4 times now it’s it’s still one of my favorite thai places in NoVA. every single dish i’ve gotten here was absolutely delicious. the chicken khao soi is my absolute fav thing to get here. the curry broth is flavorful, the amount of chicken is generous, and the crispy noodles and the pickled sides compliment rich curry broth. also make sure to get the crispy pork basil is always another favorite of mine! the drinks are also excellent for the price. seriously i love this place i cannot express enough!! give them a try if you haven’t already!!!

Diner Review №24

Really amazing food, but stay away from ordering through delivery apps. They hand out the food, and when making a mistake on the names, they don’t care and turn mean.

Diner Review №25

Diner Review №26

I've been to this restaurant several times now. It is very consistent with the quality and taste of the food.
Highly recommend the papaya salad and the crispy veggies dumplings.

Diner Review №27

Diner Review №28

Easily my favorite Thai spot in the DMV. Everything that I have ever tried has been excellent. My favorite dishes are the Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles and the Fried Rice. The spice levels are accurate and the food is packed with flavor. The service is also excellent every time that I go. The dishes are priced very well and the portions are good as well.

Diner Review №29

Love kiin imm. Great quality food at decent prices. Rotating menu, which I love. Solid Thai favorites, but also creative dishes for the adventurous.

Diner Review №30

Delicious food wowwww! Amazing customer service. I ordered brussels sprout salad and added some chicken and it was so so yummy! Would definitely come back🤩😍❤️

Diner Review №31

Quick, polite service and fantastic food. The curry was authentic based on my experience in Thailand!

Diner Review №32

Kiin Imm Thai consistently has great food.

Diner Review №33

The staff was unfriendly. When I called to place a pick-up order, the server didn’t inform me that I would be placed on hold and left me waiting for nearly five minutes without any explanation. Later, my husband called, and someone answered right away. When I went to pick up the food, the male server greeted me, but the female server, who had left me on hold earlier, didn’t say hello or smile. The service at this restaurant is declining, and the owner should consider retraining the staff on customer service. I recommend checking out Thai Mom in Vienna instead—they have fantastic food and great service.

Diner Review №34

Best Thai food in all of northern VA. I’ve ordered takeout from them since they opened years ago and there is no other place like it. The food is consistently great and the service is very fast. Highly recommend the pad see ew, drunken noodles, fried rice, cashew chicken, and their spring rolls.

Diner Review №35

I had a fantastic experience at this Thai restaurant. The food was delicious, with bold flavors and fresh ingredients. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. I was truly impressed and will definitely be returning! :)

Diner Review №36

It was a great time having lunch here with my bestie. I am Thai and I do like all the food here. such a great place!!! Good food and great service!!! Definitely will be beck.

Diner Review №37

I think about this place sometimes… I haven’t been able to get anything outside of the pad Thai bc it’s made perfectly with tons of love. My wife had my left over once and even her picky self approved!

Diner Review №38

1. Food Quality (5/5): Excellent. I ordered the Yellow Curry Chicken. The chicken is perfectly cooked and practically melts in the mouth. I also had a unique "secret menu" drink made of soy milk and something else. Definitely worth asking about! This place is rather unique as it lists the allergens on its menu. They also wash the cooking equipment after use to prevent allergen cross-contamination between dishes.

2. Spice Levels (2/5): Spiciness is subjective. This place is fine for those used to Thai or spicy Asian food. The Yellow Curry is rated as a 2/5 on the menu in terms of spiciness; however, I would rank it as a 4/5, despite being used to Indian curry. Be mindful of the spiciness rankings here, it is better to overestimate the spice.

3. Service and Atmosphere (5/5): The servers are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The banter between them was endearing and made the place feel like home. Despite being indoors, the design of the restaurant feels like being on an Italian outdoor patio in Sorrento. There are cute lemon and bee accents here and there and a pergola above the tables.

3a. Speed of Service (5/5): The food comes out shockingly quick. Wait times are about 10 minutes or so, which is great for a sit-down restaurant.

4. Value for Money (5/5): It will be exceptionally hard to find something of comparable quality at this price point. For instance, the curry here costs $16, while Samundar Ki Begam curry at my favorite Indian restaurant is $22. The meat here is of a higher quality.

5. Variety (5/5): If you like going to the same place on a regular basis, then this is the place for you. The menu has countless entree and non-alcoholic drink options (I didn't check the alcoholic menu). The drink options alone tempt me to come back. You could eat here for a month and have something new each time.

6. Convenience (3/5): This depends on where you live. If you live in nearby homes, then it's a 5/5; however, if you're like me, this place is a bit of a drive away. There is free parking nearby; however, it is slightly limited - busy times may make parking absent. Even so, I didn't encounter trouble parking during prime dinner hours.

7. Unique Experience: I normally hate green beans, as they taste gross to me, but the fried green beans here have opened my mind to them. It is worth giving them a try if you also are biased against them.

Diner Review №39

Been here twice now. Party of five first time and party of four second time. Both times had excellent food and service. From order time to food on table is very reasonable and the amount of food for the cost is also very reasonable. "Heat" levels are pretty much accurate, so don't go too high on spiciness unless you really mean it.

Diner Review №40

What an amazing find. I was in town today for the first time and I just found this place and fell in love. It is small and cozy, with a lot of food variety. We ordered the steak pineapple salad, string beans, spring rolls and then pad thai. Loved each one of these dishes. The service was great and the prices are great! Definitely coming back if I’m ever in town!

Diner Review №41

Best thai food around the area , But the service however is really bad. Made me feel Unwelcomed from the very beginning. (Just order carryout )

Just ate here for the first time and I am completely obsessed. We ordered the spring rolls and crispy veggie dumplings for apps. For our entrees we got the green curry, twilight beef, and pineapple fried rice. Every single thing was delicious, flavorful, and made with love. I can't say enough good things about this place!

We dined inside the restaurant and we loved the ambiance with all the twinkle lights and lofi background music. Such a great spot! ✨

Diner Review №47

Amazing! Delicious food and outstanding staff. I tried five things tonight, and loved all of them (curry, chop chop, string beans, and homemade mocktails). Amy went above and beyond to make our experience the best! Can’t wait to come back soon and bring others.

Diner Review №48

Excellent restaurant offering vibrant atmosphere, killer drinks and delicious food. I had the Chop Chop Basil street food and it was amazing. Great taste and spices left me wanting more. As an appetizer, I recommend the crispy green beans. Definitely going to come back!

Diner Review №54

Great food and great service

A wonderful experience was enjoyed. Amy’s service was exceptional and very friendly. The food is consistently excellent and delicious. The Godzilla Fried Rice was made to perfection and the Cashew Nut Stir Fry is a favorite. We will be definitely be going back.

Diner Review №56

Thai tea was extremely sweet to a point you cannot have it.

Quantity is too less for mango sticky rice for the price !

Diner Review №57

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kinn Imm Thai, and Imust say, this place is a must-visit! The food was simply amazing, with every dish bursting with flavor and prepared to perfection. The standout for me was the fried green beans an absolute must-have dish that highly recommend.
The service at Kinn Imm Thai is extremely kind and efficient. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome and attended to our needs promptly. The atmosphere was equally impressive, creating a warm and inviting environment that made our dining experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a place that combines delicious food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere, look no further than Kinn Imm Thai. definitely be coming back!

Diner Review №61

Diner Review №62

The only thing I can say is: WOW! We decided to eat here on a whim and it was the best decision we could have made. The decor was gorgeous, the staff was so friendly, and the food was excellent quality. We were practically blown away by everything we ate.

We got the Pad See Ew, tofu strips, and the Sassy Lemony Pork. The Thai tea was pretty good, and the green jasmine tea was very interesting but also excellent. I highly recommend the mango sticky rice, it was the best one I think I’ve had in my life.

In total it was about $50 (mot including tip) which is a steal considering how high quality the food was!

Diner Review №63

Diner Review №64

The food here is so good, especially the lunch special. I got the Panang curry (vegan) and veggie dumplings lunch combo, a Thai Iced tea and for dessert I got the Mango Sticky Rice. Everything was delicious but the dessert stole the show, the sticky rice was shaped like a flower and it looked too pretty for me to eat it!
The server was very nice and friendly as well. love supporting indie restaurants like this one.

Diner Review №65

The food was great. The staff is very attentive and kind. Their pad thai is the best I’ve has in the DMV area. 100% would recommend!

Diner Review №66

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the DMV area and my favorite Thai restaurant! Amazing food (dine-in or takeout), and super friendly, and fast service.

Diner Review №69

The drunken noodles are AMAZING!!! I’m a sauce girl and they did it justice. 10/10 would come here again.

Diner Review №70

Great food, attentive staff! Excellent service!

Diner Review №71

Food always hits!! Kinn Imm is always a reliable choice. Drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice, chop chop basil are our go-tos. Thanks Kinn Imm!

Diner Review №72

The best Thai restaurant in the DC area! I go out of my way to come back here, even after moving out of the area. Prices are reasonable ($12.95 for the staples like Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles), especially with their lunch special (select free appetizers with an entree Mon-Fri). The drinks are great like their Thai Iced Tea and craft mocktails, and not too expensive. Most importantly, the food is delicious! The best versions of Drunken Noodles and Pad See Ew I've ever had! Pad Thai is decent and their basil pork dish (one of the monthly specials at one point) is good, but I always come back for Drunken Noodles and Pad See Ew. The crispy chive cake appetizer is wonderful, and I'm also a fan of the veggie dumplings. I will also say the servers are so lovely and the service is always efficient! Amy is the sweetest! There's always a decent crowd when I go but have never had a problem getting a table. So grateful to have a gem like this in the area!

Diner Review №88

We’re seeing a show in town and I’m so happy my research brought us here. This place is sooo cute! So many eye catching decorations. The service was EXCELLENT. The portions are large for the price! We had the pad see ew and the drunken noodle. We tried three apps and the crispy green beens were our favorite and I do not like green beans. The coconut taro dessert was also so yummy. I love the iced stay awake Thai coffee/tea combo.

Diner Review №89

Food was incredible! Had the Dancing Pork Belly with Chinese Broccoli and the Kiin Imm iced green tea. At the end of the meal we all got 15% off our next visit too! Service was amazing too, I didn’t get her name but she was awesome! Definitely a nice chill date spot with free parking on weekends.

Diner Review №113

What a SHAME for today service!!!

The food is no doubt, absolutely delicious and flavorful. I have been here for dine-in and togo multiple times. That’s the reason why I always came back and supported.

Today’s customer service downgraded the quality of the restaurant and my appetite for Thai food. I went there and sat at the corner table. Seconds later, they served water and utensils, which is quick and normal as they did. Later then, they never came to ask to order or need time. They went around the tables in the restaurant to refill water, check out, and serve other tables. I am tired from waiting and stood up to look for a server. But, they seemed not to really care our existence. After few minutes waiting, I decided to leave. I would order for togo for now.

The restaurant should re-train the staff for better customer service.

Diner Review №114

I have been there many times for dining and to go. Today, I am very disappointed about the services. The waitress served water, plates, and utensils, but they let us wait long to get orders. They still refilled water and checked out others, and they still got orders from the table who came before us in just a few seconds. They ignored me and my friends. This time, we felt very and very disappointed. I remember the old servers were excellent, quick, and smiling with us.

Diner Review №115

Diner Review №116

My go to Thai place that is close by.

Diner Review №117

Good thai tea and good green curry. They make it very spicy unless you ask for less spice. Their tom ka soup is also very good.

Diner Review №118

Upon reading all the 1 star reviews, it seems like everyone is complaining about the same lady. She has always been rude to me and I have always felt judged by her.

—————————-

My husband and I order take out and eat in at least 3-4 times a month. We prefer to take out because the service is slow (I understand everyone in this industry is understaffed), but one time I had waited 15-20 minutes by the door and I was ignored by the staff and eventually had to take my business elsewhere (same waiter who was rude to us today).

Today, when we walked in, we were told to seat ourselves. After some time, the waiter was nowhere to be seen, so I shifted my body to look around to get somebody’s attention. When my eyes met one of the servers, she rolled her eyes and had an irritated look on her face. She was not friendly. From that moment on, I was not in a good mood because of the way our server treated me.

I had not said or done anything to provoke her to be so rude.

Our food today was pretty bland- from our curry, chicken satay, to drunken noodle. Our drunken noodles were not only bland, but had a very strange taste and smell to it- it was the smell of old/rotten green beans. I couldn’t eat it- my husband ate a few bites, but he noticed it was off too. I have never sent back food before, but I could not eat it and it was what I was really craving today, so I asked for it to be remade. When we received the second bowl, it still tasted the same, just spicier.

When I had asked the server to take it off our bill- she gave me this weird look. Zero empathy or wanting to make things right - more like “wtf is her problem” kind of facial expression. She brought out the owner or manager and he put the onus on us and said that next time we dislike a dish, to send it back earlier- not after half the portion was eaten. We had not eaten half the portion. I barely ate a bite and my husband did eat a few bites, but certainly we did not eat half the noodles.

It was upsetting for the manager to point fingers at us instead of apologizing for the dish/inconvenience. He eventually did apologize because I was clearly unhappy by his response. He said that they recently changed suppliers for their wider noodles and that might be the reason for the taste. He brought out a smaller portion because he wanted us to try it again- the portion he brought out was definitely more flavorful, but it still had the weird stench/taste underneath the heavier seasoning (my husband couldn’t pick up on it, but I noticed it slightly)- so he might be right that it was because of the new supplier’s noodles.

After this incident, I don’t think I will be coming back. We usually tip 20%+ when we dine in, but today we could not due to the horrible service and bad taste in our mouth (both literally and figuratively) after our interaction with the staff.

In the end, they did take it off our bill and the manager did try to get to the bottom of the problem through trial and error to ensure the dish will taste better for future customers. And the majority of the time when we have ordered from Kiin Imm, we have enjoyed the food, so that is why I am leaving 3 stars.

Diner Review №119

Kiin Imm Thai never fails to impress. The food is simply delicious. The service is equally remarkable - attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable visit. Kiin Imm Thai is a must-visit for anyone craving exceptional Thai cuisine and amazing service.

Diner Review №120

I go to lunch here weekly and it’s always delicious. The service is awesome and they’re lunch special is great.

Diner Review №121

We frequently order takeout from Kimim Thai Restaurant, every other weekend, and generally enjoy the food. However, we've noticed that during busy times, particularly on Friday nights and weekends, the portion sizes seem to decrease. This inconsistency is disappointing and unfair to regular customers. Hope the restaurant take note of this and make adjustments.

This is one of the best Thai places in DMV - the food and service are great, and the atmosphere is cozy.

Diner Review №124

Goog experience , Food food and reasonable price

Diner Review №125

Kiin IMM Thai is a DISHONEST restaurant!
I dined in on 4/13/2024. I declared that I would like to pay a tip
$ 8 in my bill. However, the restaurant charged me $ 11.12 (I checked my bank statement.). I don't think your service deserved $11.12. So dishonest!

Diner Review №126

So I was shopping next door at HT and decided to try this. You can look at my reviews I’ve been to Thailand, Hong Kong all over South Asia and I was blown away at the accuracy of the Khao Soi usually it’s found in Chiang Mai but here they make it excellent!!

I got a “Dirty Thai Tea” and they make that here too!! Not many places make that so be sure to try (Thai tea + Thai coffee but with a ratio mix) the super cute waitress brought me my food without any issues.

I took Krapow to go and when I got home I found a surprise, an extra egg. I’m a sucker for extra egg. Thank you!!

I went to review this and post my pic and see just 2 really unfair reviews. I didn’t encounter any of that. My Waitress were nice, quick and more importantly to me Cute 😂. Most restaurants have a QR code and sneeze guards, tipping (there are so many Memes about tipping) so don’t know why that would be a complaint.

Diner Review №127

Good experience at this place, Delicious food, Reasonable prices and friendly service

Diner Review №128

I ordered through Ubereats and the padthai and penang curry was absolutely tasteless. I think it did not have any Thai flavour rather I found that they made padthai with normal noodles which is not at all a pad Thai. Absolutely disappointing!

Diner Review №129

Worst food and worst staff ever! Fried rice and noodle dish was warm and not hot. Both meals was soggy rice and noodles. Staff that gave me my food when I picked it was rude. If you're not from thai, the food doesn't taste like thai. Asked for utensils, the staff acted like it's coming out her paycheck. The lady was like thin and had like long hair. Please train your staff to be professional to any race and not just worship one race.

Diner Review №130

We frequent the Rockville location, so we went to the Vienna location while in the area. We were greeted and told to pick any seat. We politely asked to sit in the only empty booth that wasn’t yet bussed. The server made a face, said nothing to us, and took the plates and cups off the table without cleaning the soaking wet table top. It was the weirdest interaction we’ve had at a restaurant. The food was okay, but the service and this interaction was just so weird we’ll never be back to this location. Definitely go to the Rockville location for better service and food, but note that the Rockville location is much busier for obvious reasons.

Diner Review №131

We were here very recently and enjoyed every aspect of our meal. Very homely, fresh vibes with clean tables and decorative plants spread throughout. Waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. Food came out fast (appetizer first), then meals. Not a ton of rice, but meal portions were large! We had the crispy green beans, chicken green curry, and fried pork. Everything was delicious, vegetables tasted so fresh and each dish, so flavorful. Curry was incredible, but will likely order spice level 2 next time as 3 was just slightly too hot (but not unbearable).
Thai iced tea offered a sweet balance to the savory and spicy flavor from the food.

Looking forward to coming back and trying some more of the authentic thai dishes!

Diner Review №132

We came in for an early dinner one night since I was in the area for work. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. I ordered the crispy pork dish which was delicious, and my partner ordered the crispy tofu with crispy vegetables. We also ordered the bread pudding for dessert. I almost forgot to add, I had the wonton soup for my appetizer which was also very delicious. Lastly, the ambiance of the restaurant is nice and it's not as loud as most restaurants are today. If you are in the Dunn Loring/Merrifield area definitely stop in and give this place a try.

Diner Review №133

Like their vegetarian options like crispy beans, spring rolls, dumplings and entrees like street side fried rice, drunken noodles etc

Diner Review №134

Our recent experience at Kiin Imm
Thai was unfortunately disappointing. The quality of the food has significantly decreased, and when I kindly asked for my dish to be returned due to dissatisfaction, the staff reacted negatively with undue scrutiny. Furthermore, requesting takeout boxes resulted in a display of rudeness, with boxes being slammed down in front of us

We've gotten delivery from this restaurant a number of times and it's always delicious. The mushroom forest and crispy chive cakes are particular favorites, but we've also had the pad see ew, panang curry, khao soi, and herbal falls and they were great as well. I'm so happy to find a place with khao soi - had it in Chiang Mai and it's hard to find in Thai restaurants around here.

Best Thai food I had in DMV! Everything is great, especially desserts are amazing!

Diner Review №138

I was just visiting for couple days and was looking for a nice dinner place close by hotel and found this one. Very impressed that they have so many kinds of food that I have never seen from another Thai restaurant before. Everything was very good and reasonable price. I can tell from many to go orders and people keep coming in even it’s just during the week. I wish I could order more and yes I did ordered to go for my lunch on the way back. Here will be my regular restaurant when I’m back in town. I love this place.

Foods are great

Diner Review №140

Forget about dining in. They have no menus so you may find yourself staring at your phone or at the screen they provide after you ask, that is after you wait forever for anyone to even notice that you’re there.

The food tastes very different if you order it at different times. We ordered the same dish last night and today at lunch, and it tasted completely different. At dinner it was amazing. This has happened many times in the past. As a restaurant, they should use standard recipes, and the same dish shouldn’t taste different at different times, even if different cooks are on schedule. I am giving three stars as an average: sometimes the food is truly 5 stars, sometimes it is closer to 1 star.

Diner Review №141

We came here often. Love everything about it. The food here is better than some of those fancy restaurants. There are a variety of choices to choose from. Service is amazing. Prince is friendly. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №142

This has to be one of my favorite restaurants in Fairfax county. The food is always delicious and the service is fast and friendly (whether dining in or take out). The restaurant is so cute and warm and cozy, especially in winter. It’s a go-to for us.

Diner Review №143

Walking into Kiin Imm Thai Restaurant, I was ready for a journey into the heart of Thai cuisine. But what unfolded was a series of missteps that would leave even the most forgiving foodie disillusioned.

The service? It was subpar at its best. The QR code menu, an impersonal touch in a world where connection is the essence of dining, was just the start. You'd think with a party of 13 in a nearly empty space, we'd be the center of attention. Instead, we were relegated to the sidelines, ignored and overlooked. A true disservice to the art of hospitality.

Now, let's talk about the food. Seafood is a sacred ingredient in Thai cooking, and what we got was nothing short of sacrilege. Undercooked, underseasoned, and utterly forgettable. The kitchen seemed to have forgotten that Thai cuisine is a delicate balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. Instead, what we got were dishes that were as bland as they were uninspired.

And the spice level? Let's be clear, I'm all for a good kick, but spice without flavor is just a cheap trick. Their level 5 Thai spicy was about as exciting as a spicy KFC - some heat, no depth, no character. When spice becomes a cover-up for a lack of culinary skill, you know you're in trouble.

The ambiance, admittedly Instagram-worthy, was the only thing they seemed to have invested any real thought into. But a pretty setting does not a good restaurant make.

For service that was practically non-existent, having options to add more tips to an already set 20% tip is just annoying.

In a nutshell, Kiin Imm Thai was a lesson in missed opportunities. A place that could have been a culinary hotspot but ended up being an example of how not to run a restaurant. Food is about passion, flavor, and bringing people together. Sadly, this place missed the mark on all counts.

Great experience, food and drinks were delicious.

Got the Kiin Imm Iced Green Tea, Thai Iced Tea, Spicy Basil Fried rice, and Pad See Ew.

Definitely coming back again

Diner Review №147

Not sure what happened to all their reviews but this restaurant deserves a lot of love. it is the best Thai in the area with a more reasonable price and good service. It also has a warm cozy atmosphere, but not a crowded feel.

The Khao Soi noodle soup is amazing and perfect.

Diner Review №148

Religious followers of this restaurant. Always been 5 star. Added extras on meals..nearly 5 extra dollars...basil...cabbage...etc..Had to search for it...really disappointing...hopefully just a bad night for them. Overall food still solid...just maybe don't add any changes.

Diner Review №149

Don’t even want to give them any stars. Food was so salty. Staff were so rude and acted like they didn’t want to serve you. Will never be coming back.

Diner Review №150

Great price and portion. Their lunch specials are great. Small Tom yum soup (very hearty and loaded) with pad see eww or fried rice for $11.95! Can't beat that

Diner Review №151

Diner Review №152

The takeout I’ve ordered from this restaurant has been delicious. My favorite Thai restaurant in the area so far.

Diner Review №153

The food and service are excellent. We had four dishes that we would order again. Caution on the heat. 2 is spicy. If you like a little spicy stick with 1.

Diner Review №154

Cute place and cozy place. Very average tasting Thai food. Our dishes were not memorable. Wide selection of Thai selections, moderately priced. So perhaps we picked poorly. They were short staffed.

Diner Review №155

Really like the interior, warm and cozy. The food is very good, I’ve had bad Thai elsewhere but what I’ve had here so far has been really flavorful. Good portions too. The service is great as well, professional and very kind.

Diner Review №157

I recommend this place if you're not a big fan of Thai food (like me) or someone who loves Thai food. There's a variety of traditional, street food and fusion styles of Thai food to choose from. I tried the:

- Crispy chive cake
- Twilight beef in bangkok
- Basil Pork Crisp
- Panang Curry (chicken)
- Papaya salad

And they were all delicious. Flavors were bold, spicy, and flavorful.

It was a great atmosphere, staff was nice and attentive despite being busy, and parking was easy.

Diner Review №158

This location has lost me as a loyal customer who has been going here since they’ve first opened. Found out they’re undergoing new management transition changes.

Issue: I’ve previously been able to order scrambled egg as a substitute for fried egg with my dishes the last few years since this location first opened because I cannot have raw egg yolk due to dietary issues, suddenly new management in the kitchen told me they cannot accommodate my request. This is frustrating because I consider this place to be one of the best Thai places in NoVA. Not only that, while I dined in, the service was slower than usual despite the busy rotation of customers.

I hope new management reconsiders their operation decisions because this may affect other loyal customers from returning.

Diner Review №159

Great food. Love the fusion options and variety on the menu. The food and flavors were excellent. The inside of the restaurant was really nice and comfortable. They had tons of takeout orders too. The staff were great. Went on a Sunday night and parking in the metro garage was free so that was nice. Will definitely come back again.

Diner Review №160

We have been multiple times. The food is delicious! The service tends to be slow, we have had to go get a waiter both times went.

Diner Review №161

Really good Thai, great service and a chill atmosphere.

Diner Review №162

Worst Thai food I have ever had. Greasy not fresh, the list goes on. During pick up they weren't friendly either.

Diner Review №163

- the pad see ew was very good, everything was fresh and had a nice flavor. The green tea was excellent as well.

- staff were all friendly and the service was quick.

- prices are normal for the area.

- parking was not too hard to find.

- place was clean and organized.

- didn't get that loud even though they were busy.

- overall a good first experience. I'd recommend this location.

Diner Review №164

Generous and very good Thai offerings at very reasonable pricing. The weekday lunch special will feed two. Convenient location a block from the Dunn-Loring Metro.

Diner Review №172

I’m shocked there aren’t more reviews for this restaurant, because I’m convinced it’s one of the top Thai spots in the area! It’s small and can get busy fast; if you eat here you’ll taste why. I visited Chiang Mai in 2019 and fell in love with Khao soi there. Since returning home, I’m always searching for khao soi and so few Thai restaurants serve it. BUT Kiin Imm does (including a tofu option for us vegetarians) and it is heavenly. Everything else I’ve tried there is delicious (you must try the crispy string beans), but I can’t help but get the khao soi almost every single time. My bf also ate khao soi when he traveled to Thailand and loves Kiin Imm’s version as much as I do (but he gets the meat). You may have to wait for a table when you stop by, but it’s worth it.

WOW is all i can say i had the KHAO SOI which is a Thai street soup made with a chicken broth coconut milk curry and a touch from the gods one of the best dishes I've experienced

Diner Review №177

Delicious and would recommend all the dishes! We got the pork bone soup, pumpkin curry, and drunken noodles. Nice atmosphere and great service :) coming back soon!

Diner Review №178

Great Thai place, tried most of the menu and well worth the price!! Prob my fav Thai place.. only wish they had duck for their basil fried rice !!!!

Diner Review №179

My friends and I met for dinner. The restaurant was fairly empty (Monday night!!) but many people stopped by to pick up orders.
Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She advised us on choosing the right spice level and gave us details regarding gluten free options. One of my friends is vegetarian and gluten intolerant.
For appetizers I ordered the duck rolls and one friend ordered the Tom Kha soup with vegetables. My duck rolls were delicious. I also tasted a bit of the soup...it was tasty, but lukewarm. If it was my dish, I would have sent it back to be heated!!
For mains my friends shared a Penang Tofu curry with vegetables. I ordered the crispy pork belly with brown rice. Our food was very tasty. We settled on spice level 2 (as we are wimps 😃). It was just right for us...a nice hit of spice.
I would definitely go there again.

Growing up, we had a Thai restaurant near my home. We always ordered their massamun curry. Kiin Imm's massamun curry always reminds me of home. We love the flavor and quality of their. We haven't been to the location since covid, so delivery is what I'm basing my review on. We look forward to tasting of their dishes and going in person. I'm sure know matter what you order you won't be disappointed. They seem to have new, fun items to try regularly too. Thanks to everyone at Kiin Imm! You make a California girl feel at home with your delicious food. 😋

Reminding us of being just like in Thailand
Excellent!

Diner Review №183

The food was good, but the service was okay.

Diner Review №184

Well the food tasted good but the next day my wife and I had terrible diarrhea. We are not new to Thai food and the spices, but this was a new and terrible gastrointestinal experience. Probably not the cleanest kitchen, but I can't say for sure since I didn't see it. It's too bad since we were hoping this would be a good place.

The papaya salad is literally the best in the whole VA. Thai tea is fire and so is the pad Thai

Diner Review №187

Food was great. Service could have been better but we did have a group of 15 so that maybe why it was less then usual.

Diner Review №188

Tasty food and great ambience.

Diner Review №189

I always order the Chicken Ka Prow from here (the Basil Stir Fry) and it's delicious! Perfect level of heat, and always fresh. I can't wait to try more dishes from this place!

Diner Review №190

This is my go to place for Thai in Vienna. Sometimes the service by the staff is a hit or miss and sometimes the food is not consistent every time your order your favorites. The last time I ordered drunken noodles key ingredients were left out of my dish.

Diner Review №191

Unfortunately, while I really enjoyed the food at this establishment, I have to give them the lowest possible rating based on their unpleasant and poor service and blatant dishonesty. Our server was impatient and rude from the get, and gave me a full blown lecture when I couldn’t immediately find my driver’s license after ordering a glass of wine, having offered her my global entry card that had my photo and dob on it, and is issued by the federal government, pursuant to Virginia ABC laws about what constitutes a valid form of ID. She went on and on about how that was against the law and she’d make an exception this one time, with a super dismissive attitude. Owner: if you see this, highly recommend you train your staff on the actual requirements of the Virginia ABC. On top of that, having just checked my credit card bill, someone at this establishment fraudulently increased the amount of my tip. Please beware, this is a super sketchy thing to do and based on this, I would really hesitate to return, despite the fact that I think their food is actually really good.
