Let me tell you, I don't really like Thai tea but THIS Thai tea is DELICIOUS! Literally the only Thai tea I enjoy! Also, if you don't know what to order, go with the Thai fried rice with shrimp/pork/chicken/beef. It's a guaranteed win!

Diner Review №3

Food very delicious, But food portion is a bit less.

Diner Review №4

It was pretty ok. I was just eating and waiting for my car. Something was off about the taste. I can’t tell what. Maybe it’s me. The food looked good.

Diner Review №5

Excellent and authentic Thai food. You know it’s good when the appetizers arrive. Fresh and carefully prepared dishes served by friendly and attentive staff.

One of my favorite local Thai restaurants, and it never disappoints! Every time I visit, the food is consistently delicious, fresh, and flavorful. This time was no exception.

The dishes are always prepared with care, and you can tell the ingredients are high quality. Whether it’s the perfectly balanced Pad Thai, the bold flavors of the Drunken Noodles, or the rich and creamy Panang Curry, each bite is a reminder of why I keep coming back.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual meal or even takeout. Happy Thai is a gem in Fairfax, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Thai food that hits the spot every time.

Five stars from a loyal customer!

Diner Review №9

Happy Thai offers a great selection of Thai dishes, the food seems really authentic, definitely taste amazing and the service is great. Is a small restaurant but it feels really cozy.

Good noddles, salad and boat noddle.

Diner Review №12

My wife and I were here on business for a couple of weeks and saw this place when we Googled Thai food this place popped up. Well worth the 4.7 stars and more. We had Shrimp Khao Pad and Pad Thai. Both dishes were delicious and more than enough in portion. Service was fast and friendly. Would definitely eat here again and recommended dining for anyone looking for a Thai fix. Price was great as well….$37 for both meals and a hot Ginger tea. Thank you Happy Thai for an enjoyable meal!

Diner Review №13

Happy Thai is a hidden gem! Despite its small size, it has a homey, clean, and authentic feel with a great vibe. The service is top-notch. The lady who took our order was incredibly kind and always had a smile on her face, which made our experience even better.

As Thai food enthusiasts, we always order Tom Yum soup and Drunken Noodles wherever we go. The Tom Yum soup here was good, but the Drunken Noodles were exceptional—fresh, authentic, and perfectly prepared. We also tried the Soft Shell Crab, and despite not being a crab person, I found it amazingly good. It’s something I would order every time I return.

We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was super nice. If you’re looking for delicious Thai food, I highly recommend Happy Thai. We’re definitely coming back!

Update: Had to come back again for the Soft Shell Crab. This time we also tried the Mango Sticky Rice. I’ve eaten plenty of Mango Sticky Rice but theirs is absolutely delicious. I like how fresh it tastes and the rice is nice and warm!

12/7/2024 update: If you’re craving mussels, this dish is a must-try! The new steamed mussels are absolutely incredible—perfectly cooked, fresh, and paired with a sauce that’s bursting with flavor. The refreshing aroma of mint takes it to the next level. This has quickly become one of my favorite dishes on the menu, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Happy Thai. You won’t regret it!

Excellent food and great, friendly service. I love Thai food and Happy Thai did NOT dissappoint in the least. Highly recommended.

Diner Review №17

Food was amazing and the service was excellent. The owner came by the table and made sure everything was to our liking. Would highly recommend!

Diner Review №18

We love this family owned Thai restaurant. Food is good and the people who work there are really nice.

Diner Review №21

Pictured are the lunch specials. Always go here for convenient and good quality Thai food. Their noodle stir fries, currys, soups, and meat stir fries are all good. Sometimes when dining in during the summer, there are a lot of gnats. That is my only major complaint.

Diner Review №22

Great lunch place. The lunch special includes springroll or potstickers

Diner Review №23

For those who want to enjoy good Thai food, this is a good choice.

Diner Review №24

Very excellent customer service. When they tell you 15 minutes is 15 minutes wait time.l order online and is always ready when l get there

Diner Review №25

Went there with a couple buddies a few nights back. We wanted Thai so we just searched Google and this place had 4.7 stars and over 200 reviews. So, it could have been an “off” night or I’m a harder grader than most.

Ordered a couple of appetizers including potstickers. They came out looking like they had been cooked in the oven. Hard and almost burned on the outside. Weird prep. Not good flavor. Drunken Noodles were average. Pad Thai I didn’t try but my friend said it was average and then my dish, Basil Fried Rice I added chicken to but there was nearly no chicken in it. Flavor and preparation of the rice was below average. Again, maybe an off night for the kitchen but I wasn’t impressed overall. Priced reasonably.

Diner Review №26

Got a pickup order for my family. It took a bit longer than anticipated but the food was AMAZING! Will definitely return 💯

Diner Review №27

Food is very flavorful and the hostess was amazing!
This little place is a must try!

Diner Review №28

We have been ordering takeout from this Thai restaurant. Pad thai and green curry are our go to order. I hope that the container for the curry can be more secure, when I opened it, it spilled everywhere after the ride. The lady used the plastic wrap to secure it, but it didn't work. A different container would be better for curry.

Diner Review №29

A mighty contender in the crowded Nova Thai food scene. Pictured are panang curry with extra tofu, sesame chicken (not traditional Thai but I'd recommend), beef pad thai, and an off-the-menu pad ka na (Chinese broccoli). The pad thai was a bit sweet and the fried tofu in the curry more dense than I like but overall, it was a great meal. We were craving stir fried Chinese broccoli but after scanning the menu, we didn't find it. We voiced our disappointment to the host and she offered to put in a special order and it was exactly what we were looking for. Hopefully, it makes its way on the menu. Service at this restaurant is a standard above. While we were busy enjoying our meal, several diners came in for takeout and the host greeted them warmly, calling out their orders before they said a word. We will happily be returning to this wonderful restaurant to enjoying more of their offerings

Diner Review №31

This spot is truly a diamond in the rough and we will definitely be going back!
• Great service
• Clean & neat interior
• Outstanding food that was made to order, super flavorful, and fresh!
• Plenty of vegetarian options - our favorites were the red curry, basil fried rice, and chive dumplings

Diner Review №32

We went with a group of 10 people including seven children last night and they were so accommodating. The food was delicious too.

Diner Review №33

Beautiful decorations. Super friendly and attentive staff. Food was DELICIOUS 😋
10/10 most delicious chicken wings I ever had.

Diner Review №34

My toddler loved the pad see ew and the lunch special was a great price. This restaurant is a must try!

Diner Review №35

Diner Review №36

Great place very good food. I recommend their drunken beef noodles. I’ll definitely come back again.

Diner Review №37

The lunch special drunken was so good and the sticky rice with mango was the best I’ve had. Yummy. I shall be back.

Diner Review №38

Cute little place serving yummy Thai delicacies

Diner Review №39

Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. The customer service was excellent. The restaurant is cute but small. So glad we arrived before the rush.

Diner Review №40

Basil fried rice was dry and had virtually no basil flavor. Pad Krapow was really just tough chicken with undercooked onions. Curry wasn't spicy at all. Very disappointing.

Diner Review №41

Very friendly staff, very nice and clean environment and amazing food. Thank you for everything.

Diner Review №42

I would give 3.5 but I can't. I ordered the pork satay which was very good. Every restaurant does chicken, some do beef, but few do pork which is my favorite. It was juicy and tender, if anything it could have been a little charred around the edges. The spicy lime sauce was what you would expect: briny, sweet-sour, and laden with peppers and topped with scallions. I also ordered the Must Try! Sesame chicken knowing full well it would be very Americanized and it was. The steamed brocolli was a plus but otherwise it was just like anything from P. F. Changs. I will go back, and chosen carefully I suspect there are a few gems on their menu.

Diner Review №43

I found my new favorite dish! The Khao Soi here is the best and most authentic.

Diner Review №44

Diner Review №45

Amazing tom kha soup. Amazing drunken noodles

Diner Review №46

The food was flavorful and spicy the way I like it. The customer service was friendly and they were knowledgeable about the food, which was helpful in deciding what to order.

Diner Review №47

tiny lil spot but SO good! we ordered a variety of stuff— green curry with tofu, drunken noodles, thai basil fried rice— and they were all so delicious. my mom is so picky and she loved everything!

Diner Review №48

This is such a hidden gem but it would be criminal to gatekeep it! I always order from here on Ubereats. The panang curry tofu should literally win a Michelin award. They always have fresh sticky mango rice and papaya salad. It is always packaged neatly and delivered well. I spend a lot of money here but it is worth it. It is the best thai you will ever eat in the DMV area. Virginia has the best thai and I've been to every DC thai place. HappyThai beats them all

Diner Review №49

High quality authentic best price and quality in the Vienna area.

Diner Review №50

Best chicken/beef 5pepper pad thai.

Diner Review №51

Love the pad thai at this location. This was my second time going to this location. The lunch pad thai was $10.95. I added shrimp, which was an extra $4. I thought that was a lot. I think it would be a more reasonable price if they added $2-$2.50 for a protein added. It also says it comes with spring rolls. I guess spring rolls means 1 roll..smh. Taste great though!

Diner Review №52

Just dinned in here today and this has by far is my new fav Thai restaurant in dmv.
Authentic Thai food
Excellent service
I had the pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles

Diner Review №53

I need now

Diner Review №54

Great food! One server doing everything so waited 30 minutes for one dish.

Diner Review №55

Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch special today. The pot stickers were crispy and hot, and the drunken noodles with chicken was delicious with just the right amount of spice. Highly recommend!

Diner Review №56

Tiny little spot in an unassuming plaza. The service was fantastic. Food was delicious. No frills but great meal. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №57

I live in NY and have a lot of quality thai places nearby (as well as having visited Thailand before) - this place was incredible. The pad woon sen was the most flavorful dish, and the crab fried rice was perfectly seasoned. So friendly and such great service, will be coming back the next time we pass through Fairfax!

Diner Review №58

The food is good! And they are always superrrr nice. I come for their lunch special all the time! 💓

Diner Review №59

Food is pretty good. Enjoy their lunch specials. Service is slow if you dine in especially if they get a bunch of call ins. Seem understaffed for busy hours. They had good customer service tho.

Chicken satay was alright. Peanut sauce was the best. Pad Thai was yummy but not super special.

Good place for cheap grab and go food

Diner Review №60

My friends and I decided to try a Thai restaurant we had often passed by. The service was fantastic, and our server was very friendly. Although the food tasted good, it was sweeter than we had expected. However, considering the price and portion size, it was unbeatable. The restaurant was clean and tidy, but it could use some updates to the decor to improve the overall dining experience.

Diner Review №61

I have never had a bad experience here, the food is exceptional and pay attention to the spice levels when ordering! They really do mean hot when you select it.

Diner Review №62

Diner Review №63

Everything they make is excellent, especially their curry. Definitely the best Thai food option in the area. The staff is very friendly too!

Diner Review №64

The green curry and mango sticky rice were very good

Diner Review №65

Cozy restaurant with delicious food and wonderful service! I got the Pad See Ew and a soup (I forget the name) and both were of good portions and great taste!

Diner Review №66

My experience at Happy Thai was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. The combination of delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding service made for a truly memorable evening. I highly recommend Happy Thai to anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine and an unforgettable dining experience.

Diner Review №67

Diner Review №68

We had Lad Na, Crispy duck, Crispy chives, and thai tea. It was all so good! The waitress was very sweet too.

Diner Review №69

We ate here twice. Both times the food was outstanding. The service is amazingly friendly and efficient. It’s a pleasant atmosphere to eat at, not fancy but clean and cheerful.

Diner Review №70

I eat here about 3 times a week since its right by work. definitely check out their chefs specials. drunken noodle, pad see ew and basil fried rice is always my rotation on their lunch special! the staff are amazing and very helpful with the menu!

Diner Review №71

Diner Review №72

I visited Happy Thai at lunchtime and it was so nice. All the staff were kind and thoughtful. And most of all, the food was so delicious. The price was reasonable. I plan to visit again

Diner Review №73

Amazing food!! Definitely glad we came

Diner Review №74

Diner Review №75

Drunken noodles and pad thai were excellent. Dining in was a no-frills experience, but service was friendly and quick and we were glad to be out of the cold rain. We'll be back!

Diner Review №76

Diner Review №77

This was my first time after they changed to new owner. I ordered my thai food because of I am Thai. I love all the dish that I ordered. The favorite dish is yum Num khao Tod. It is so good and make me to return to see them again. Chinese Broccoli with oyster sauce is so good and perfect. Overall, we will back to visit this restaurant again. 👍

Diner Review №78

Review from a 14 year old:

Happy Thai has amazing flavors and spice levels. The descriptions and reviews were all accurate- absolutely heavenly food! The Thai tea is enjoyably indulgent, and the coconut ice cream is the right mix of sweet, textured (they use toasted coconut) and refreshingly cold. Absolutely recommend for lunch in the afternoon- the acoustics are cozy, warm, and beautiful!

Diner Review №79

Diner Review №80

Tried a number of dishes and they were all very good. Great service, easy parking in front.

Diner Review №81

A hidden neighborhood gem. Delicious food. Friendly staff.

Diner Review №82

Diner Review №83

Panang, a delicious dish, the taste exceeds the expectations. Even better than the Italian. I got Panang with mixed seafood. The taste of Ginger unbelievable. They are working hard to give you the best. I went twice day after another because I couldn't resist the taste.
The restaurant has easy access and outside parking, you can order online and pickup your food.
Just now ordered the same dish over the phone. LOL

Diner Review №84

Came here and ordered the Beef Drunken Noodle Thai Hot. The spice level was very nice, not too spicy that it was chemically tasting but still good. Noodles weren't overcooked and the beef was cooked well. Overall, the place seems pretty standard for Thai food so I'm not sure if I could give this place 5 stars but still enjoyable.

Diner Review №85

My sister and I found our new favorite spot for authentic Thai food! Such cute and small place and the food taste so good. We always get the happy Thai lo mein with beef, which is amazing! And the Thai tea.

Diner Review №86

I dined in for Sat lunch & carry out Sunday after work.
Fried chicken wings, drunken noodles, crispy rice, eggplant, pineapple fried rice, Thai tea all wonderful. Good portion sizes.
I will not order the crab and pork dumpling again.
My fav Thai location near Fairfax.

Diner Review №88

Best tomyum fried rice ever! Small little place with BIG flavor 👍🏼

Diner Review №89

No frills. Delicious. Excellent service. Good price.

Diner Review №90

Very delicious food, excellent service, cute hostess! We enjoy their food each time we visit.

Diner Review №91

Very cute place, food was delicious

Diner Review №92

I had the Halloween special: beef pumpkin curry. It was spectacular! Service was great. It's a small place so not good for groups over 4, but I highly recommend going if you live Thai food.

Diner Review №93

The lady serving/ checking out was very attentive and even offered me a thai tea on the house for waiting on a dessert. I ordered to go for myself and two other co-workers we thought the food was very tasty! We'll definitely be back!

Diner Review №94

Diner Review №95

They constantly go above and beyond for our family. Genuinely the best Thai food in the area.

Diner Review №96

I had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic Thai restaurant that truly surpassed my expectations. Opting for the shredded papaya salad with a delightful peanut dressing and the aromatic green curry, I was treated to a culinary masterpiece. Every element showcased freshness, impeccable seasoning, and a burst of deliciousness. The harmonious balance of flavors elevated the entire dining experience, making it nothing short of exceptional.

Diner Review №97

Amazing and happy staff! Open late and they do not serve alcohol which is a plus. Food is authentic and they will make it whatever spicy level up to Thai hot on request. As a lover of Thai hot, I was very pleased. Definitely worth it

Diner Review №98

Great service, amazing food

Diner Review №99

OMG!! Everything on the Menu is AMAZING!! A Must DO EXPERIENCE!!

Diner Review №100

Diner Review №101

Small place but excellent Thai food. Happy Thai is the best in Nova now. They have more traditional items including very good moo ping and the best boat soup in the area by far. Hopefully they keep the menu and quality right where it is because it's great.

Diner Review №102

We are visiting the area and came here with no expectations. The reviews were good, the food was decently priced and we love Thai food so we decided to check it out.

When we first entered the restaurant we were greeted with the absolute happiest people in the service industry. What a wonderful way to start a meal.

We have never tried Thai coffee or Thai tea, so we got both. They both were creamy, sweet but not too sugary and delicious.

For apps we ordered chive dumplings and got fried cubes that were not the dumplings we expected. One dip in the included sauce and a bite changed my mind, these were delicious. After those we had curry puffs. They were a great tasting savory and the sauce was a perfect sweetness.

For mains we had Pad See ew and red curry. The Pad See Ew has a great traditional flavor with a huge serving size and fantastic noodle texture. The red curry was just delicious. It is a medium heat and most places in the area I think have a heat scale based on their local clientele so when I get medium heat it usually isn't spicy at all. This had a better kick to it and an amazing flavor.

Honestly I'm so happy with everything we got here and so happy with the experience. I'm only in the area for 2 days and my wife and I already said we're coming back here tomorrow. If you're in the area please come here.

Diner Review №103

One of my favorite Thai places for the past couple of years, but unfortunately they've fallen victim to decreased quality and increase pricing. I no longer think they are worth it. For example, a chicken dish went up about 20% this year, and the portions are nearly half. Their wonton soup is now water down and flavorless - the wontons are no longer great quality. It's a shame, there must've been some changes behind the scenes.

You can still get really nice dishes if you know what to order, just don't expect good pricing, portions and quality like before.

Diner Review №104

Good food. Better as takeaway.

Diner Review №105

Great food great service

Diner Review №106

I love this place, it's my go-to for thai. Their panang/peanut curry is honestly my favorite food of all time. The basil fried rice is also really good :)

Diner Review №107

Great food. The owner and staff are very friendly. Homemade ice cream and fried banana was awesome!

Diner Review №108

Prices are too high for the portion of food that they give. A dinner size container of pineapple fried rice for $20, needs to be much larger in portions for what they give.

Diner Review №109

Amazing hospitality at the restaurant. They took our order when they were closed and even gave us discount.

#keepsupportinglocalrestaurants

Diner Review №110

My entire meal was underwhelming. With such a good rating, I had high hopes. My Thai tea tastes like burnt coffee and milk. It didn't have that bright orange looking color. I feel like they may forgot the tea. Just burnt coffee and water downed milk was all I could taste, no tea. (Understand that I ordered Thai coffee) ok, still tasted horrible. My fried chicken was over battered and turned my nails yellow. More bread then chicken. The Thai fried rice was also burnt. One lonely egg. But u do get a decent size rice amount of rice for the cost. The sweet rice and mango was the most decent out of my meal. I have had better Thai. I wish the company the best of luck. I can say I at least tried it.

Diner Review №111

Took over an hour for our orders on Friday night, and one of them was wrong. Panang curry was tasty, medium heat.

Diner Review №112

Very nice people. Ordered for the first time today, food was excellent. Panang curry and Tom kha soup. Price very reasonable. Will be back!

Diner Review №113

Pad Ma Kur was delicious. Pad Thai is on sweet side with more of brown sauce. Run like a mom & pop eat in carry out the register is also the server and she is great about making recs between items and balancing the dishes. Call ahead to see if they have the whole crispy fish of either flounder or snapper typically starting at $30+. Will come back for lunch specials too whenever in area.

Diner Review №114

The best wide noodles in the area. Good authentic flavors and fast service

Diner Review №115

Love this place

Diner Review №116

I gotta tell you about this amazing joint called Happythai restaurant. The food there is next-level delicious, especially the River boat noodle soup and the Crispy Rice Salad. Trust me, you don't wanna miss out on these gems!

But here's the kicker: they have this off-menu item, the authentic Thai papaya salad with black crab. It's not listed, but if you ask your server, they'll hook you up. Seriously, it's super yummy! The flavors are out of this world.

Now, the place ain't huge, just a few tables to dine in. But here's the deal - the service is friendly. The staff is cool and takes care of you. They'll even help you out with special requests or suggestions.

So, if you're into mind-blowing Thai food, Happythai is the spot. From the mouthwatering River boat noodle soup to the addictive Crispy Rice Salad, and don't forget that secret papaya salad, this place is food heaven. Treat yourself and go check it out!

Diner Review №117

Diner Review №118

One of the best small Thai carry-out places in Fairfax! Their main focus is carry-out, they do offer a few tables inside as well. I've been coming here ever since I moved to the DMV for their quality, price, and consistency. The noodle dishes are adequately proportioned with generous protein offerings stir-fried with rice noodles, and they offer varying levels of spice to further curate to your palate. They also offer lunch portions during the weekdays that further emphasize my point on affordability. Each lunch platter comes with a side of potstickers or eggrolls that are a perfect addition to your lunch.

A few things that I've tried and would recommend are the drunken noodle and curry dishes. I have given the Pad Thai a few tries, but always found it to lack in sauce and flavor; therefore, I would not suggest getting this particular dish from here.

Diner Review №119

Great service, food is always on point... It definitely reminds me of my trips to Thailand. 100% recommend!

Diner Review №120

Diner Review №121

The food was delicious and both the owner and her staff are very sweet. Highly recommend!

Diner Review №123

Diner Review №124

Delicious Thai food! We had Drunken Noodles and Spicy Chicken.

Diner Review №125

Good vegetarian options. They made sure our order had no-meat - eggs.

Diner Review №126

Diner Review №127

Excellent and fast takeout service. Their Thai food is really really close to the absolutely excellent Thai food I used to get over the course of 20 years in LA and haven’t found since I moved back to the DMV area 17 years ago. And I have ordered my 4 basic yardstick dishes from many Thai restaurants in the DMV in search of, and been disappointed every time. (spring rolls, tom ka gai, red curry chicken, and pad thai with shrimp) Let me tell you, Happy Thai knocked them way out of the park. The pad thai was especially notable for NOT being drowned in tamarind sauce, it’s earthy bean threads, delicate shrimp, & just right tender noodles. The red curry was so nuanced and so delicious. Next time I’ll order my 2 other yardsticks: wonton soup and lad na. Looking forward to it.

Diner Review №128

Diner Review №129

Came for lunch and food was underwhelming for the price. I had the Tom Kha Soup and Calamari. Soup looked and tasted like they had just made it. Not savory or "umami" yummy. The calamari weren't rubbery or chewy as they can be; however, they were grease soaked. Not appetizing. My friend had a chicken dish with coconut milk and rice; she said it was okay, but even with level one spiciness it was too spicy for her. Our server "Kate" who was so friendly and the best thing about this place, offered to take the dish back and add more coconut milk. That did help and my friend took the leftovers home. The place is in a strip mall and parking is challenging in front, but there is more parking behind the building. I would say if you're in the area, give it a try, but don't make a special trip.

Diner Review №130

Very authentic Thai food! the taste is amazing! The lady provided a very good service when we were there too.

Diner Review №131

The special menu is incredibly authentic. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №132

This restaurant makes authentic Thai food. Everything was delicious. I ordered boat noodles and crispy fries chicken, were excellent. If you are looking to try authentic Thai food, this place is the answer!! Highly recommended.

Diner Review №133

Delicious authentic Thai food, reasonably priced, and exceptionally friendly service! My new favorite Thai restaurant.

Diner Review №134

Nice lady. Happy with the spice level. Got an unique item off the regular menu.

Diner Review №135

Everything about this restaurant was fantastic. I called ahead with short notice and they had a table for two waiting for an impromptu date night.

We had crab rangoon, papaya salad, crab fried rice, drunken noodles, and the ‘pièce de résistance’ the whole fried red snapper. The food was all incredibly delicious. The salty-sour mango sauce for the fish was one of the best things I have ever tasted in my life.

We finished the meal with the fried bananas with homemade coconut ice cream as well as some mango over sticky rice.

Don’t let the humble location fool you into passing this one by. We’ll be back!

Diner Review №136

Small but mighty! The food is cooked with love and the business is family owned. The service is fast + high quality + good prices.

There's no better Thai place within a half hour, I've been to all those and I always come back to Happy Thai anyways.

My staple is the green curry and the chicken panang they taste great. If you haven't tried it yet you are missing out my friends.

Diner Review №137

Diner Review №138

I’ve had the Tom yum soup, pad thai, green curry, several thai teas- all were amazing. The staff is so attentive and nice. Too bad there aren’t enough tables when it gets busy

Diner Review №139

Without a doubt the best Thai food I’ve found in the DMV area. Fresh, creative, and lovingly prepared and served! The staff couldn’t be kinder. Everything I ordered was outstanding, but what’s going to get me to return again and again is the mango sticky rice dessert.

Diner Review №140

Wonderful, fresh, delicious food from the new owners. Everything made with love and commitment to authenticity and freshness.

Diner Review №141

Hands down the best Thai restaurant in the DMV. Don't let the outer appearance of the restaurant fool you, the food, atmosphere and employees are 10 out 10. Highly recommend you try the crying tiger steak, and crispy tilapia kapow for your first time. Get the mango sticky rice for dessert. You won't regret it

Diner Review №142

Diner Review №143

My boyfriend and I were in the area and decided to grab thai food for dinner. best decision ever, the owner went up to us and thanked us for coming! the food was so good--the panang curry was insane, and the spice on the pad see ew was perfect. i'm vegetarian so i got tofu and it was fried perfectly. definitely coming back when we are in the area !!

Diner Review №144

Amazing food, excellent customer service! Reasonably priced.

Diner Review №145

Stopped randomly at this place to pick up some food and I was so pleasantly surprised. Very friendly and helpful hostess. Food was just wonderful. I love Thai but can be picky about it and this one ticked all the boxes. I got the Tom Kha soup, papaya salad, Pad Thai, Pineapple fried rice and Sticky Rice Mango. All were great. I’ll definitely be back.

Diner Review №146

Incredibly kind employees and LOVE the huge portions!!!

They are very accommodating and I will continue to come here !!

Diner Review №147

Good take out . Wonderful shrimp fried rice , tofu and veggies.

Diner Review №148

Diner Review №149

Every dish we ordered were super flavorful and delicious. We usually order drunken noodles and Pad Kaprow at any Thai restaurant and we ordered these two dishes here. Then we ordered a chef special Crispy Duck Kaprow. I love it. The mango sticky rice came out even prettier than the photo on the menu. Will visit again.

Diner Review №150

Best Panang I’ve ever had.

Diner Review №151

Diner Review №152

Food was delicious and service was excellent

Diner Review №153

At happy Thai you are welcomed by two of the friendliest people in the area. In terms of food, the portions are great! The Panang curry and basil fried rice have amazing taste. One word of caution: their dishes may be a bit spicier than you are used to, plan accordingly! Overall, great food and service for pickup, would recommend for someone looking for a late night fix.

Diner Review №154

If you’re looking for a good Thai place, look no further! Their panang curry is to die for and if you like spice, try the basil fried rice. Will definitely be back!

Diner Review №155

The Panang curry slaps. One of the best Panang curry’s I’ve ever had.

Diner Review №156

Diner Review №157

Where do I even begin? Every single dish is amazing. The flavor of the dish coming from sources other than sugar is a huge eye-opener. This is the restaurant that convinced me to try Tom Yum soup for the first time, and actually like it. The Tom Ka and drunken noodles are a must.

Diner Review №158

Superbad customer service . I saw mouse running around.
The guy on the front desk was unprofessional.(Racist).
I asked for an extra sauce. This small sauce in a plastic charged me 2 dollars i had to wait an hour for the food. Super bad customer service . Fried rice was oily . I won recommend anyone .

Quality food made by kind-hearted people. Loved the three dishes we ordered pad Thai, drunken noodle and tofu fried rice

The chicken was tender and meaty, not over processed at all! The portions were generous and ready ahead of the estimated time.

This will be our new “go-to” place! Although we had takeout, it looked like a nice place to have a bite on site, too… they have table service.

We’ll definitely be back!

We had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the service from our waitress (New) was phenomenal and the prices were reasonable. Please see my YouTube channel it's free Subrina w my world for video.

Excellent Food and service! Veggie spring rolls, drunken noodles and Pad Him Ma Pan were really good!

Diner Review №164

Would love to come back again. We each got pad see ew and drunken noodles. It was super good and big portions that we’re able to eat twice from! Small place inside to sit but the service was excellent and we got our food quickly.

Diner Review №165

Great flavors at really low price!

Diner Review №166

One of the best Thai food I’ve tried so far.
Pad see ew and basil fried rice were awesome. Not to forget curry puffs with relish sauce was great too :)… they customized it to my spice level. Definite try for great Thai food.

ever since i discovered Happy Thai, i don't order thai food from anywhere else! EVERYTHING on the menu is delicious and the portions are generous. the owners are also so kind and welcoming!

Diner Review №168

My favorite Thai restaurant in this area. Healthy, large portions and easy to customize

Diner Review №169

This family-operated Thai restaurant is located in an unsuspecting strip mall between Pan Am shopping center and Mosaic. We are so happy we found this place (true to the name!), as we had ordered twice now and both times food is consistently delicious. Unlike many of the Thai places around Nova, the food is not overly sweet to compensate for lack of flavor but is not too salty either. You can tell the dishes are cooked over a nice high flame, there's a great stir fry taste to all of them. They do tend to get busy so when they say 20 minutes or 30 minutes, the timing is true, so no need to show up early.

Diner Review №170

The best thai in the Merrifield area.

Diner Review №171

Always excellent thai food. Their noodles are something divine.

Diner Review №172

Absolutely delicious food and great service. I wish I had pictures but by the time I stopped to think about that I had eaten most of my food. The sticky rice is addictive!

Huge fan of Happy Thai Restaurant! They have the lunch special available for takeout and I get it most Mondays as I WFH then. The drunken noodles have the perfect level of heat/spice. I like that they do not overdo it with the veggies like some other places. Just onions and pepper. Always a good amount of chicken. Spring rolls are always crispy and delicious. I will miss them when I move in September.

Hidden gem, one of the best Thai places here!

Diner Review №181

Just an average Thai place. Panang curry was a bit sweet.

Diner Review №182

ANOTHER GREAT THAI CUISINE EXPERIENCE .

Diner Review №183

Price is nominal. However taste is not that great. We ordered 3 rice. We packed all of them. Appetizers are yum.

I was in the area and needed to get lunch. Almost never come out this way. The young lady working here wasn't as welcoming as I expected but later I learned that's just her communication style. She was so polite and friendlier as I got to talk to her more. I like that you get to build your dish. I picked the drunken noodles, which I love, with seafood. She asked if I wanted medium hot and I thought I would give it a try. The food was ready very fast. Presentation was professional. I was surprised to see so much seafood and big pieces too!! I took my first bite and it was delicious!! I could eat this all the time. The seafood has 4 huge shrimps, large pieces of squid, and 1 scallop. I'm really glad I gave this restaurant a try. The young lady was telling me that this used to be a Chinese restaurant. I'm glad that it is Halpy Thai now.

They took my money but I didn't get my food. I waited 70 minutes for my order and when I called they said they rejected my order. They took my money and I have no refund.
I am very mad!!

Best Thai food in town. I had boat noodle soup and lemongrass drink. The soup was so great, good flavor and homemade lemongrass doesn’t have any sugar which is good for your health. Highly recommended.

Diner Review №193

I ordered from here for the first time this week and it was delicious! We loved everything and will be my go to for Thai!

Diner Review №194

REALLY GOOD FOOD! I honestly did not expect the food to be as good as it was. Not my usual Thai restaurant but I think it’s made its way to the top.

Diner Review №195

Wow! So glad we found this place. Very delicious Thai food at a very reasonable price. My mouth is watering thinking about it again. Highly recommend! Don't let the small size concern you. Big things come in small packages. Sap, sap!

Diner Review №196

We enjoyed the Thai food very much. The owner spent time with us ensuring that we were satisfied. The serving size was very generous, and the seasoning was done to perfection. If you are looking for authentic Thai food please try the Happy Thai Restaurant.

We plan on going back today.

Diner Review №197

On a good day with the right chef in the kitchen, their food are really good. The price is decent. Not overpriced
1. The drunken noodles cooked perfectly that you can smell and taste the smokiness of the dish which I love!
2. The river boat noodles is good. You can adjust the level of how concentrated your soup to be (don't request it too concentrated though!)
3. Pork and beef meatballs are yummy!!
4. Satay chicken was alright
5. Larb chicken was ok. Taste like normal larb
6. Sticky rice mango was yummy!!
7. Fried banana and coconut chocolate chip ice cream was yummy! But the banana weren't ripe so they weren't sweet, it was okay. But the coconut ice cream was so good!!!!

Diner Review №198

The service was great and the food was great. Good portion size. The cook came out and talked to us. Everyone was very nice.

Diner Review №199

The best Thai place in this area. I’ve been to all the others and this is the best, and often the cheapest.

Diner Review №200

Oh man I asked for spicy and was it spicy! I ordered a drunken noodles without meat. They made sure it was cooked separately. It was full of flavor and portion was good. The place looks beautiful and cozy. Will definitely recommend 👌
