Hunsa Thai Kitchen offer fresh, authentic, homemade Thai-style, and MSG-free creations from our cozy kitchen to our local residents, curious foodies, and Thai Food lover.
BTW we have gluten-free options too.
Cashew chicken and fried rice were incredible. As well as the egg rolls! Cute little spot. Food came out quick and the staff was pleasant. Portions are big enough to split with extra leftovers! I will say the only thing was that the music could change. Kinda weird eating at a Thai food restaurant and listening to Ariana grande pop music :) also the iced coffee is so good and strong.
I've been here a dozen times and it's a good fix if you're craving Thai food. The drunken noodles are great but the green curry is very watery and as with most of the dishes, it's made with a VERY generous amount of fish sauce compared to most other Thai I've had, but there are a lot of regional differences for Thai food. I'll definitely come back, but I'll probably not order any curry.
This Asian cuisine restaurant is very good, it has that authentic Thai food flavor that lots of people love. The service was good, the staff go their job amazingly. It has this aesthetic cozy atmosphere. Overall I would recommend this place for Asian food in the Clear Lake area. 10/10
Simply amazing. The food, friendliness, ambience, music. For beginners the ice tea and lemonade were real. The restaurant we normally go to was closed and they posted a sign on their door directing us here. This is now our new spot and we don’t understand how we missed this gem. Looking forward to our next visit! PS their sriracha sauce is out of this world.
Tastey, is really delicious. Friendly helpful staff.
Highly recommend the Hunsa Wings.

Love their pad se eww and Tom yum with noodles!! My favorite Thai place sold out and I am so excited to have found Hunsa Thai! It is a great alternative and has equally tasty pad se ew!
They have good food but quality has gone downhill and prices have gone up.
Picked up Pad Thai a few days ago and not only was it missing egg, there were no vegetables. I understand everything is getting more expensive, but I spent 16$ on a dish that was only noodles and a small amount of meat. I was disappointed it hasn’t met expectations the last few pick ups.
*updated review*
Well, it’s a year later and the food quality is still suffering. I think this was my last order from this restaurant.
The day before Thanksgiving we were visiting family down in Houston and placed a huge order with Hunsa Thai to feed 7 hungry adults and 2 children. The crew at Hunsa Thai were so gracious and helpful and got us our order in no time! Everything was absolutely delicious. If you’re in the Houston Area Hunsa Thai is a definite must-try!! Thank you again Hunsa Thai!!
I went there last night to make a to-go order. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and I was asked on a scale of 1 to 10, how spicy. I said nine and I was told "good Choice" I also ordered egg rolls. When I got home I was very disappointed....The egg rolls were ok but the sweet and sour chicken was extremely bland!!! I suspect they forgot to put the actual sauce on the meal, which explains the bland taste with the chicken and vegetables. Needless to say it was a disappointing $30 I spent..
Lunch deals are great and food is amazing. Thai tea is my favorite along with the curry puffs.

This is our new favorite Thai restaurant. Everything tastes delicious, fresh, nicely spiced. Service was great. Portions are very generous. I have plenty left over to enjoy for lunch again tomorrow!
Six stars. Everything here is good. Eating the best Wonton I have ever had right now.
When you ask for pickup they shorten your food gave me 2 shrimp and a lot of tomatoes
And not that much rice. Now when you dine in they give you a lot. Won’t be coming here again use to come almost everyday. Spent 30.00 for tomatoes and 2 shrimp
Excellent food except for the green curry. I highly recommend it for anything but the curry. Curry is watery and milk solids precipitate out.
The best mango sticky rice ever!
If your looking for traditional thai food... hunsa is the place to go... Friends brought me here, and here is where I will come if I was a decent thai boat noodle! Their head chef is amazing and if u get a chance try the curry pastries there as well... u won't be disappointed!
I usually don't write reviews, but I just had to write one with this place.
I ordered the tum yum soup with shrimp. For the shrimp it was a extra $3, tell me why I only got 2 pieces of shrimp in my soup, like seriously I paid around $15 for broth and 2 pieces of shrimp..next I ordered the papaya salad and asked for a level 2 spice out of 10. Why was it so spicy I couldn't even eat it. And the portion they give you is not alot for the price you pay just a little bit of papaya and carrots and a big slab of cabbage on top. Never again will I order from here.
My son liked the food a lot but I thought it was very average. The Tom Yum soup in particular was way below typical Thai quality.
This place has one of the best tasting food I’ve ever had. Their yellow curry and rice has amazing flavor, and is perfectly cooked. As someone who always tries to eat as little as possible, I couldn’t help but eat more when I tasted their yellow curry and rice. The Thai Iced Tea is also very tasty.
Always a delicious treat when I blow through town and are willing to make it honestly spicy. Good food and service.
I have placed numerous to go orders over the last 4 years living in the area and each time the orders are 10/10. I recently had lunch with friends there and they all enjoyed their meals as well. In addition, their Thai iced tea is the best I've ever had. I will continue to be a regular customer!
Great food, prik king crispy pork is the best!
The curry is watery to the point you may as well drink tea. Meat was all cartilage and entirely connected in one long piece, veggies sub par and sparse. Thai tea was good but 90% ice, may as well go to a boba place. $50+ for two drinks, two entree, one appetizer.
Extremely small portions. Food tastes very good and authentic. However a portion of fried rice is very tiny and more similar to a child size portion. For a normal size person you are going to have to order 2 things to make a full size meal. Also restaurant hours are extremely weird compared to other similar restaurants. On the weekends they don't open till noon which is super late and place is only good if you like having late lunch. Also like to mention they close on days like mother's Day which is good for the staff but super weird for a restaurant. Portion sizes definitely needs to be addressed and increased.
They always seem to forget something on my orders..
I ordered some wonton soup tonight. It was $14. When I got home, I had a little bit of soup, lots of celery, carrots, and two wontons. Never will I be going back to this place so not worth it!!
Worst thai food ever!!! We got 4 entrees and all of it was so bad. It had this smell that was unbearable. Do not recommend this place.
Massaman Curry was phenomenal. Service was great, clean environment, and fair prices.
Food is always great and service is good too. If you enjoy Thai food, you well have a great meal.
I've been here a dozen times and it's a good fix if you're craving Thai food. I'll definitely come back, but I'll probably not order any curry.
Great food and excellent tea/coffee. If thai food is your thing, this is authentic.
Phenomenal!!! I had the roasted duck curry, pork dumplings, and mango sticky rice. Very delicious. Favorite in the area by far.
It’s been a year and I just ordered Hunsa Thai again. I got the pad Thai and mango sticky rice and I’m just blown away AGAIN at how absolutey incredible their food is. The mango sticky rice is the best I’ve had in Houston. 1000000/10
Fooooooddd is goooooodd!!!😋😋
Poor and slow service, had to keep asking the server to order, to even bring water. They served their soups cold, a shrimp entree literally only had 3 shrimps on the plate. We were the only group in the restaurant and still we had to wait 20 mins just to get our bill. And then they had the audacity to add 18% gratuity for a group of 6. Will be going back to our regular place for Thai in this area
We placed an order to go last night and after I got it home, we did some chores and didn't think to check the food. Once we checked the food, we saw that they had gotten the order wrong, but the issue was that it was past closing time. We called anyway and they happened to pick up. Not only did they offer to fix the order, they delivered the corrected food to us! We only live five minutes from the restaurant, so this wouldn't necessarily work for everyone, but I was shocked that they even did that. This just shows a dedication and willingness to help the customer that is increasingly rare nowadays. We will definitely be eating here again.
The food was also delicious!
Ordered Red Curry w/beef as a takeout option. The option I chose was from the dinner menu, and yet it only filled up a kitchen bowl about 3/4. Worse, though, was the taste. So much salt had been added to the curry as to render it inedible. I took one bite and had to stop eating.
Ordered fried pastry, but it was absolutely inside. Food was oily and tasted average.
Another review. Love this place - got heat level #9 and they were not scared to burn me up with flavor greatness! I love heat and seek it out here because they deliver it! Thanks Hunsa - Some can take it ;)
Excellent food, great service! 100% recommend!
We're so happy we ordered from here, the food is incredible! Delicious flavor and fresh ingredients. I used the rice to soak up the sauce left over I couldn't let it go to waste. We got Thai pork spare ribs, cashew nut with chicken, and fried bananas 10/10 would recommend 👍
I’d give it a solid 7/10. Not the best, but definitely good.
First time eating Thai. It was good, Not my go to cuisine but my son wanted to eat there. Will eat there again.
Sooooo disapointing. Have eaten there and picked up great food many times but this time the food was bland and boring. Only saved by my own seasonings. New owners or new chef? Definitely not worth doing again.
Absolutely wonderful food, atmosphere is relaxing.
Food was quick and hot.
Highly recommend
Delicious pad thai
Hunsa Thai offers excellent food and superior customer service, in a nice setting just off Nasa 1. Have always had positive experiences.
I love this place!!
Tasty food and good customer service!
We ordered 2 specials and 1 curry dish. The specials were phenomenal but the curry was just way too sweet for our liking. Still, we will return to try other dishes!
I enjoyed the Thai Tea, Thai Street BBQ Pork on Skewers, Boat Noodles and Mango with Sticky Rice. I do not like them at all. I LOVE THEM!!! They taste incredible and phenomenal. I will be back next time if I want some Thai food.
Tiny portions for the price
THE WORST experience I have ever here!
Highly recommend the yellow chicken curry and the ginger chicken. Great taste! And spices are on point. Once I was introduced to their Thai tea, I had to have more. I’m in love with this place. Hidden gem for sure
Great food, very good.
Awful food. Bad service.
Absolutely phenomenal pad see ew. Will definitely go back!
Definitely worth a visit! The prices are fair for the quality and portion size. The food is great here. I love the Thai Iced Tea, pork skewers, Chow Mein, and Pad Thai. The Thai fried rice is also great.
This Asian cuisine restaurant is very good, it has that authentic Thai food flavor that lots of people love. The service was good, the staff go their job amazingly. It has this aesthetic cozy atmosphere. Overall I would recommend this place for Asian food in the Clear Lake area. 10/10
My husband and I eat here every week and the food never disappoints!
UPDATE: The last time we came here, we did not feel welcome. The staff member we talked to was very short with us. We were told that they were only doing takeout, since they closed in 40 minutes. FORTY MINUTES. We drove 30 minutes to be here and decided to never make the commute here again. Went and ate next door.
ORIGINAL: This place is good. I only wish they had more descriptions on their menu. For example: I got their “fried banana” (pictured). And I was surprised by what I received. The banana was wrapped like an egg roll with coconut, honey, and sesame seeds. Not something I would have ordered if there was a description.
Absolutely love the Pad See Ew here. All the food I've tried has been great, and the staff is friendly.
This is the Best Thai Restaurant around here, if I lived closer and I didn’t have to battle the traffic I would prob eat here every day.
Love the flavor of all the dishes I’ve tried. The food is always very fresh tasting
Just spent $40 for two meals - HORRIBLE. We had rib plates. The meat was old, probably a couple of days and reheated. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
cozy place, good food
Getting better. I've grown to like it. Fresher and less greasy food than most other Thai places.
Such a nice place. Food is amazing and the service was awesome and friendly. Highly recommend the Thai tea, the green curry, and the mango rice.
Great experience!
Good food, but I find the spice levels to be inconsistent and overall not very spicy.
We are from out of town and wanted Thai food that was close to our hotel. Hunsa popped up and so glad it did. Our food was delicious. My husband had Pad Thai, my kids shared the Pad Woon Sen and I had the Pad Paak. My Pad paak had all the veggies possible which I loved. The portions are more than enough and each dish came with a great amount of protein. When we visit again, Hunsa will definitely be on on your list.
I wanna give 0 star if I can. Drive 30 mins for the foods togo. When I took it, I asked the lady "is everything in here", she said yes. When I got home, one of my food wasn't there. I had to drive back 30 mins to get it. Never come back. Food are stink nf small portion. Not worth it at all. Expensive. The lady is so rude too.
Drunken noodles and spring rolls! Fresh and no msg.
Love this restaurant, food is always good and fresh. Never disappoints!
My favorite low key casual local Thai restaurant. Great Service and Food, BYOB.
Our second time for lunch, the Larb salad is excellent. Ingredients are fresh, nice presentation and friendly, great service make this a hidden gem for great Thai food in the Clear Lake area.
Delicious and freshly prepared food and attentive waitstaff.
The food was great! Tasted great and great service too!
Great place .love in Thailand many years.. this is as good as Thai food in Thailand.. friendly staff.. love coming here .
Unfortunately this is not the best I’ve had. The food was 53.94 it was small portions. The crab pod Thai was absolutely horrible 1 little crab and a full box of rice noodle. I’m from Baltimore never have I had something like this.the reviews on here got to be a joke. This restaurant is not worth it. I did my research and this place is a thumbs down.
Love their service, always welcoming. Foods are tasty. Our favorite is Tom Yum and Drunken noodles
Overall quite good food.
I didn’t care for the Pad Thai but I love the Drunken noodle. Great lunch portions
Good food great portions and good service
Excellent green papaya salad and chicken
Looking for a good place to eat after the Astros game and came across this little gem. I already love Thai food and Hunsa Thai did not disappoint. The wait staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was really nice. We had the shrimp spring rolls, pad Thai, pad see ew, and an order of their sticky rice which came in this cool little bamboo box. If we weren’t just vacationing here, this place would definitely see me at least once a week. 😁👍🏻
Amazing food and service! Highly recommend!
Love this place. Clean with fantastic food.
Great food and fast service!
Great tasting thai food has not changed over the years.
Food tasted great! The Thai tea is one of the best I've had. They offer lunch specials Monday through Friday. Would recommend coming during work lunch if you aren't expecting to have a meeting after lunch. They do get busy at that time so service is slow but very friendly and well mannered servers.
The pad Thai was excellent
Great food
Extensive menu and generous portions in addition to tasty food make this an excellent destination.
Atmosphere and food were great! Pad Thai was especially good
We ate here tonight- it was fantastic. We had spicy fried rice with chicken, spicy fried rice with veggies, spring rolls and chicken wings.
The staff was very kind, and the food was fresh.
My online order was ready quickly, it tasted delicious, and the service at pick up was great! Cool looking place, too.
Omg everything I eat here is soo good. Taste of the Town award winning Chef Lek from Thailand can really make you believe you are on Pattaya Beach. Thank you
Tom kha here is delish I really like the spice level choices here lemonade is delish
Wonderful food, friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere.
Great place for pineapple fried rice.with raisins an cashews
The food was great. Beware that if you order sticky rice as a side dish don’t expect much. You can roll it in a small ball eat it in 2 bites. The side of regular rice isn’t enough for one person. I ordered to go. If I had dined in I could have ordered double portions. The atmosphere and wait staff are very cordial.
Beef and pork prik king and chicken garlic black pepper is good. Hoi jor never disappoints. The pad thai is just okay. And of course the mango rice dessert is a must!
I’ve been eating here for years and have always loved the food, but today I ordered the chicken massaman curry (my usual order) to go and it was no where near as good as usual, came with a tiny amount of rice, and I was charged $19 for it rather than the usual $16! Just go to Thai Stellar or anywhere else because this is ridiculous.
Best Thai food period!
2 words..... Drunken noodles. Just get them.
Family owned with original tasty food
Awesome Thai food, the Pad Thai was great! Good location, building, clean, well decorated, etc. Good service and very nice. Recommend for great Thai food!
Best Mango Sticky Rice I ever had. They always make sure the mangos are sweet, always on point. They always accommodate making modifications without compromising in taste. The soups of the day are always delicious and always a nice surprise. Great local spot and lunch specials. Beautify interior also. Great Thai Ice Tea!
My First time eating Here and IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS
Pros
-All the curry items are great
-The appetizers are decent as well
Cons
-Increase in price that make it hard to justify
-Sodas come in cans, no big deal. I usually just get water
-Pad thai is underwhelming
-Expectation of tip for to-go orders
-The restaurant gets extremely hot, we were sweating at our table
Fantastic service...delicious food!!
Good food, friendly staff. Unfortunately found them VERY slow and inattentive. Had to flag down staff to order and was never spoken to again until we finished our meal (which came out in sections over 50 min time!!). As a thai women, raised on the food, I found it well done by not as authenticly spicy to me. Would prefer a menu available to those used to the cuisine.
Very disappointing. A bug in my husband’s food and $4.95 for “crispy wontons” which is essentially just fried wonton shells. The AC was out so it was 83 degrees in there. And the restroom was out of order apparently.
We came here with high hopes of finding a new Thai place since we just moved to the area. Everyone was really nice and things started out well. I ordered crispy wontons for us to split with dinner. When they arrived before our meals, we thought they were some kind of free appetizer, because they certainly weren’t wontons. They were just shells with no meat or veggies in them and a sweet sauce on the side.
When I asked our server if those were the wontons, she said yes they are. I said “but there’s no meat or anything..?” She said “yes, no meat” and walked away. We were going to ask if the “wontons” could be taken off our bill when my husband noticed a bug (looked like an ant with really long legs) crawling around on his plate. We called someone over and showed it to her. We asked if the meal could be taken off our bill. She said she would ask and took the bug to the kitchen. Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of the bug.
When she came back, she said they can’t take anything off because their manager isn’t there. So the manager isn’t there on a Friday night, one of the busiest days of the week? I find that very hard to believe. She offered to make us a replacement to take home. Initially we said no, but my husband decided to take it because he figured it’s better than nothing and any bugs that may be in it will die in the microwave. I personally wouldn’t have taken it. Why would I want the same meal again when I just found a bug in it? Any other restaurant would apologize and take it off the bill.
Overall just very disappointing and a waste of money. I would never charge people $5 for a dish that costs less than $1 to make and has no nutritional value. And if a dish has a bug in it, dead or alive, just apologize and take it off the bill. Don’t lie and say the manager’s not there on the busiest night of the week. 👎🏻
Love everything we've eaten here. Servers are always friendly. Food comes out quickly. Restaurant is very clean.
What a treat! You may want to double your order of heavenly Hunsa wings! Spicey, sweet sauce over an uber crispy shell which nestles moist, tender chicken inside. Expect pleasant service with a chill vibe which allows you to feast without so many interruptions.
My favorite place to eat 😍
Best Chicken Wings
Great food!
Everything was well seasoned and fresh. It was a relaxing vibe for lunch with authentic music playing, this was really nice.
We had the hot ginger tea,
the steamed dumplings and the lunch special cashew chicken with shrimp added,
it also came with a cup of soup and two crispy wonton chips dribbled with sweet and sour on top.
Very stylish, once we got past that: good service and great food
Our regular Thai place was closed so we looked and aw this place had a 4.5 rating so we drove here to try it out. We ordered the special curry of the day and the spicy fried rice and an order of spring rolls. The service was very good and fast so that was good but the order was subpar.
The special curry of the day was the yellow curry and it was not good. I have never had such a sweet curry before so was shocked and it was also very watery. The sticky rice they served with it was made well so they had that going for it.
The spring rolls were actually good but they were not traditional spring rolls as it was all veggies and a couple of shrimp and no noodles. Never had spring rolls without noodles before but maybe it was a Thai style. I did like the peanut sauce though with the slight spicy bite. Usually it is more sweet but at least it was not this time..
The spicy fried rice was actually tasty and would order again if coming here again which I will not. I actually liked they had veggies with it that were cut large like they did.
Both dishes came with a soup of the day and crispy won ton. The soup flavor profile was a miss for me as the tamarind was too overpowering for it. The crispy won ton tasted stale so after a couple of bites I left the rest.
I can't recommend this place as every Thai place that we have eaten at in the area is better.
Excellent food, freindly staff, would definitely return.
Shout out to Hunsa Thai for the especially made; chicken fried rice for the Hvac Trapper.
In return, that Ice-machine ready to go and clean as a whistle 🤘🏿
