Easygoing restaurant dishing up Thai dishes like spring rolls, sushi & curries, plus pad thai.
Ordered the Pad Ginger and another dish, as well as the steamed dumplings. Food was phenomenal and good sized portions. The young girl at the counter was very polite and helpful. I love that this is a very small restaurant... Most certainly family owned. The neighborhood is a little sketchy so I'm glad we got there before dark. Regardless, though, we would absolutely return!
Genuinely surprised. Wished they would of added a little bit more meat to this dish. Other than that - the flavor was really comforting and delicious. And it came out really hot. This is definitely a place I would come to again. It came out within ten minutes too. I'm diggin it.
I had the best experience here at Thai Lucky. It was my birthday and I ordered something too spicy but they were sure to fix it. They accommodated me and my 7 friends immediately. The food is excellent and I’m glad I chose to host my birthday dinner here. 👍🏼
Ordered food from this location online only to find out that they were not open. When I tried to get a refund from their online service I was told to contact the restaurant directly. When I called the restaurant I was given the run around and told to contact their online service. I live a few minutes away from this location and have patronized both Thai Lucky locations quite a bit, but after this experience I will no longer be giving them any business.
Love this place! So glad I discovered it, a little inconspicuous from the outside but the food is SO delicious and tastes authentic!! The Pad Thai was WAY better than the more upscale thai restaurants in town. My friends and I will be coming to Thai Lucky more often :) The lady who works there is so sweet and friendly too!
Hole in the wall with one of the best tasting chicken pad Thai we've had!
I may be biased because I live close by, but this is the best Thai San Antonio has to offer!!
Cozy Thai food at its finest. 🤌🏼
Pad thai was fire!

I went in there tonight for a date and I asked for coconut milk soup with tofu instead of chicken the business then preceded to charge me for extra tofu and extra vegetables which I did not ask for... They did it I assume because they wanted to make more money off of the order because my date wasn't so hungry. I was on a date so I wasn't willing to ruin it by confronting them about it but naturally you get what you deserve with this review!

Food so so but ladies there real friendly...
Double check order to go before leaving the restaurant. I unfortunately did not and discovered they left out food I paid for when I got home. Mild heat curry is surprisingly hot includes chilly flakes... they didn't forget to ask for a tip upon pickup though. Got most of the order process wrong, but didn't miss the tip.
Fantastic food, super quick service. Definitely recommend!
This place easily deserves 10 stars.
We ordered take out! Everything was delicious, savory, perfect temperature.
Thank you!
Have been eating here for years. Always enjoy their food. Our favorites are the curries, pad thai, Vietnamese roll and especially sien hang (beef jerky).

Food was okay and made quickly but i specifically told them not very spicy. I understand lots of good reviews like that but when i people ask for not so spicy so i can at least try to enjoy my food and not have my tongue on fire that would be good. This is not the first time this has happened either and im really disappointed…
The way they make "Pad see ew" is excellent. Chicken cashew, spring rolls, soups, everything is delicious.
The food was phenomenal so much flavor the service was excellent prices reasonable and the next time I am in San Antonio I'll will be returning
The taste is so diluted it’s honestly not worth it. If coconut milk is so expensive maybe raise the price instead of making 4 gallons of soup on one can
GREAT food
Friendly workers
Great customer service
I come here often. The food is great and the staff is very sweet. 10/10 would recommend
We ordered pad thai with chicken, with shrimp and the California roll. The Cali roll didn't taste good and the pad Thai was just gross. I have no idea how people actually had a good experience but I'll dodge this place for sure.
Not gunna lie I like the random location and quite atmosphere 🤷♂️ pad Thai was so good(my first time)
They're not charging the service fee any longer. We liked food and service.
I have actually been twice. First time food was delicious, I absolutely loved it. However, the staff were treated horribly, with no attempts to be kind in front of customers. Very bad look. Second time I saw a nice size bug right in the serving window, were food was placed before give to costumers. Despite the food being delicious the second time around, I struggle to eat it. There are plenty of other good options.
Hole in the wall with continuous flow. Mostly take out.
Great food and wonderful people.
Green curry was hot and delicious! Pepper steak actually had a lot of meat. Other places serve pepper steak and it’s mostly vegetables this place gives a good portion. Thai egg rolls delicious as well and everything is made fresh. Will be coming back for sure!
Over priced food and is not made correctly I ordered sesame seed chicken but had the over power flavoring if teriyaki. The extra 2$ for fried rice was mistake I got plastic all in my rice would really not recommend
My husband and me ordered 2 meals to go: Penang Chicken Curry (Medium) and Yellow Curry (Mild), but both meals were so spicy that we couldn't eat them. They should respect the grade of spicy that they offer, but they don't do it, that's why I can't recommend this restaurant :(
Like the food ma ma the lady in the kitchen cooking. Is a good cook always saying hi. Sawadi. In thailand small restaurant. Big heart. I deliver from both and dine there. I call the cook mama. Sometimes i take sweet bread for her.
Terrible food, small servings, the pho was $16.00 and the broth tasted like salty water. Smallest Pho I have ever psid $16.00 for. Their pricing is strange because the item is listed for a price but then they add $5.00 charge and another $2.00 charge. Will never ever go back! It used yo be hood several years ago not not anymore
Good food 😋 👌
Delicious fresh prepared food. Good price.
Food was good and portions were big. However, I didn’t give 5 stars because of the amount of time it took to get my food done. The young girl at the front was very nice but kept saying 10-15 minutes. They also have my unsweetened tea instead of the Thai tea. I was really looking forward to that Thai tea
*Beware the "service fee"*
Was not impressed with the Pad Thai I ordered, it was fine and tasted right, but not notable by any means. My husband's Pho was'really good', though. We also had sushi, the Lovely Roll, that we can definitely NOT recommend. It was covered in a fried batter that was way too thick and really hid the flavor of the roll. We ate inside the restaurant and found it ok and comfortable, despite the questionable neighborhood it's in. Definitely make sure to check your bill prior to paying though. Our bill should've been around $55 including tax, with no tip included in that price, and somewhere along the route, we paid $70 for I don't even know what. So just watch your pocketbook when your preparing to pay and leave.
*update, based on other reviewers comments, sounds like we too were victim to this place automatically charging a 15% "service fee" onto our bill. Readers, I wouldn't touch this dishonest place with a 10 foot pole. There's much better, transparent, and honest places to eat at.
This was a passport on a plate! I loooove this spot. Reminds me of Thailand 😭🤤🙏🏾💯
Honestly sick of ordering here, I pay for extra beef and I never get it. Portions are woefully small for the price.
Order from a better place this place doesn’t care
Small portions, overpriced. Got 3 wontons in my "wonton" soup.
No flavor and sushi was the worst I've ever had.
This was a delightful hole in the wall. The food was hot and very tasty. No complaints.
Overpriced mediocre Thai. No lunch specials. Portions were small not even justifying the price. Staff doesn't seem too happy either.
We love this place. The food is great.
I LOVEEE THE PHO, been ordering through Uber eats and they never disappoint. I didn’t receive my rice this one time but they accommodated to my wishes. My favorite Thai place highly recommend 🤍
pretty yummy stuff :] no complaints whatsoever
This place used to be really good, but I am shocked at how bad this is now. The green curry now has yellow squash and green beans as the only veggies in it (I assume to cut costs) and the curry itself is very spicy even though I ordered it mild. Also the Tom Kha soup is flavorless. Really disappointed and won’t be ordering from here again.
Ordering from here was a mistake. We ordered off of Uber Eats and the food was terrible. It had no flavor, it was totally overpriced, and super disappointing. The sticky rice was just white rice wrapped in plastic. The pho was totally bland and about 5 tiny pieces of chicken. Will NOT order from here again.
Avoid this food unless you are ok paying extra fees. This owner charges a 15% service charge on top of any tip we wish to give the staff. He then places this fee as "Taxes" hmmmmm a little questionable
Meal for one person, $30. Place is a small tiny building. Scared 😱 to even what more info. I feel terrible for staff
Great food and good service, I got a perfectly spaced meal🤤
I agree that the additional service fee of 15% is totally ridiculous. And we are supposed to tip in addition to that??
On top of that, the place looks shady and run down due to drug activity in the street outside.
I had ubereats and ordered two thai tea and it was the nastiest thai tea I've ever had in my life. I'm not overdramatic, it's not even authentic. Just water and a mix. It ruined my day because I was craving thai tea.
I wish I could kidnap the chefs and take them home to cook for me all the time. Had the pad see ew, panang curry and the wonton soup. Flavors were beyond on point. Everything was so delicious. Pad see ew was medium heat and was probably hot by other Thai restaurant standards that I’ve been to. Reasonable prices considering what you’re getting, but be aware of the 15% surcharge before going crazy with the tip. Definitely a hole in the wall, but clean. Less than stellar part of town.
Food was bland, not very fresh, service was ok. We ordered Cali roll, Dragon roll, beef Pho and Pad thai. Pho taste like regular beef broth, sushi rolls out of a supermarket taste better, pad thai was bland. Drink prices are a rip off and they did not have a stock selection listed on their menu, same for their sushi availability. 15% Service fee is a rip off. Food is not worth the price of eating from this establishment.
Such great food. I ordered it to go while visiting the area. Broccoli and beef, white rice, and egg rolls were all so tasty. Food was fresh and flavorful. Great spot!
The owner at the downtown location while I was servicing for general pest control treated me with lunch on them. Love it so much I tried the same thing at their other location. Same results .
#1 pad Thai I’ve had in texas
15% Service Fee Added to All Orders
Good food, but be warned, there is an automatic 15% fee on all orders here. Taxes and "tip" are on top of this. The young lady who works here doesn't know what the service fee goes towards or if that's a tip for her or not, but it makes things add up very quickly.
Additional: large wonton soup here comes out to nearly $15. Thought it seemed high so looked at other places in the area and everywhere else, you get the same amount of soup for a large for $5-8. I liked the food, but it's not worth feeling ripped off.
While I was in San Antonio for the weekend, I found this Thai Restaurant and stopped by to have dinner. The food was delicious and the service was great. After I received my check I notice a 15% SERVICE CHARGE on my bill. I asked the waitress why she charged me a service charge if there is only 2 people. She told me that a lot of people asking her the same question. She said the 15% SERVICE CHARGE is not her tips. She said the 15% is for "MANAGEMENT FEE". I ASKED HER WTH IS MANAGEMENT FEE, SHE SAID THAT'S WHAT THE OWNER SAID. I told her that the owner is cheating on her and ripped her off on tips. I didn't have to give the waitress her tips since I already got charged 15% on my bill but I felt sorry for the waitress for her hard work and give her cash for her tips that she deserved. I will never go back to this restaurant again.
I came in and there was myself and one other person. The lady was sweeping and we sat there for about 5 mins before she tried to say anything. After about 10 mins she started helping me and they didn't 3ven have what I wanted and it was on their menu. They didn't say they were out or if it would be back, just no. I asked her to ask the people in the back and the same thing... they don't have it. It was my first time trying them and it will be my last.
Not that good for the high price. The chicken in the Phat Thai was tough and the portion was small.
Waiter was lost and he kept on getting yeld at by the cook which caused a little scene when we were there. By the look of it, they were short staffed and they have outgrown their little 4 table Restaurant. Also, soda overpriced but other than that, food was average.
Over price and doesn't taste go. Very blend taste.
True hole in the wall spot! If you blink you’ll miss it, but it is sooo good! Their Paht Thai is spicy and super delicious! I really enjoyed the meal… compliments to the chef :)
Amazing food for the area.
After paying my bill and tipping the waitress, I looked at my receipt to discover that I been charged a 15% "service fee" in addition to the tip I left (customary 20%). I asked the server if the 15% fee was a gratuity that had already been included and she told me that, "a lot people ask about that. I don't know what it is. I've only worked here for a week." I can understand sometimes including a gratuity (if that's what it is?), but at least tell people that you've already included it and maybe at the very least be able to explain what the mysterious fee is if asked. Felt shady. Won't go back.
What a scam. I left a 20% tip, and after leaving, I noticed a 15% service fee had already been added to my bill. I got charged a tip without being told, and when I asked about it, the server said a lot of people asked about it, but she didn’t know what it was and didn’t answer my question. The food was ok, but not special. Servings were small and overpriced. It feels like a scam when you’re not told about the “service fee,” and no one can explain what it is. Spend your money elsewhere.
Unprofessional staff. Sketchy location that always smells like dirty mop water and to top it all off to enter the restaurant you need to be brave enough to walk past the few strung out people that are always in their parking lot
My wife and I both had a food high!! The food is out of this world, amazing, super savory, delicious, and more!! We both DEFINITELY recommend that everyone eats here at least once!!
First time trying this place and was a fail.
Ordered beef pai tai and literally gave me shrimp fried rice with pai tai written on the box. Soup was bland paid to add cream cheese in sushi they did not add.
I had never tried Thai food before. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken which is my Chinese favorite. It was ok. It was a bit pricey for the order. And I didn't care for the location.
Placed a pickup order at 9:19pm, never received a confirmation when order was ready. When I drove by the restaurant to pick up before 10pm, there were a group of shady looking men hanging around the building. I called and texted the restaurant to see if they could deliver curbside but no one answered. In the end I drove away without picking up $30 worth of food since it was not worth risking my life.
I would avoid this restaurant since they do not care about their customers and you’re risking a mugging when coming here
Food is good it is there smaller location main one is downtown and I work next door and this location is busy and for the area not that many restaurants in the area…
Understaffed and we came at a busy-ish time, they accommodated us and brought us our food hot and fast! Love this place, will definitely be back!
so i found the BEST lao food in san antonio. everything was perfect and delicious!! they have 2 locations and one is in a nice part of downtown (which was super packed the 2 days i tried to get to it.) and the other is in the "NOT so nice" part of downtown.
there were stragglers hanging outside but the aunties inside was soooo sweet! the food was so good and worth it though.
Super friendly staff! Excellent food!
Picked up a doordash order and was informed restroom is broken. Don't visit a restroom with a broken restroom.
The location was not in the best of neighborhoods, but the staff was very friendly. Food was good. We ordered the chicken pho and Thai noodles. There was a bug in my sweet tea, although I'm not sure if it flew into my glass or if it was there when it was brought out.
Picked up Lunch for a friend and was very surprisingly impressed. If you like Thai you will love this place.Ugly spot in a not so pretty neighborhood but once you get in and eat you will be happy. Prices are reasonable, and well worth it.
The food was ok but it had to much vegetables and less meat in the shrimp fried rice and was not enough for the price
To be honest, the server was great. But the food tasted weird. I love Thai food but the Thai tea tasted like it’s been sitting in the fridge for a while, the sauces tasted bad and the food wasn’t the greatest. There’s so many better places for Thai food and for cheaper too. I really hope the restaurants get better recipes and cooks because I could see this place becoming a better option.
Horrible service...haven't tried the food yet We were told 20 min wait on a to go order but it's more like 45 min. Just a heads up give an accurate time and the rating might be better.
Small dining, Ubereats delivery
Returned for a 2nd time.. Tried the beef pad thai this time. Was pretty good. Again spicy scale is on the hotter side. So far everything I've tried here has been pretty good.
** Previous Review **
I recently tried this place for the first time. I visited in the evening around 7 p.m. located about two blocks east of the Alamodome, it's in a spot that the average person in San Antonio doesn't see unless they live in the area.
A friend of mine suggested this place for dinner one evening. I've eaten it almost every thai restaurant in San Antonio and I had no clue this place existed.
I decided to try the pad see ewe with beef, medium hot. We had the Thai spring rolls as an appetizer. The order came out after about 15 minutes.
The spicy scale here is on the high side, so order your spiciness conservatively. A medium was decently hot.
The flavor of the food was very good, dishes authentically prepared but there were no deserts on the menu, and no soup served with meals.
I would consider returning to try more items, its one of only 2 Thai restaurants I know of in the downtown or Southside of San Antonio.
Overall my first visit was a decent one.
This was among the worst Thai food that I’ve had. For starters, the rice and vegetables were charred so the entire dish had a burnt taste. Beyond that, the main entree (pad woon sen) was just so bland. And for whatever reason it was very watery. It also had a slight odor to it, almost on the verge of a spoiled smell, but not a fish or oyster sauce smell.
I took only took a couple of bites of the food before I decided to toss it in the trash. Very disappointed as I am trying to support local restaurants but at least I know not to try this place again.
Good food, good price
Where this small, genuine Thai restaurant lacks in location (seedy part of San Antonio) it makes up with the incredible flavor and presentation of their food! Appears to be family owned, and while enjoying our dishes- the older ladies in the kitchen loudly chatting and laughing made it seem like I was back in Thailand eating in an outdoor market.
If you ask for spicy/hot they definitely deliver, so be prepared.
Overall, atmosphere is simple, but the food is delicious!
The staff are great! When you come in ask for elizabeth!! Presentation is beautiful. My wife as well as our kids love this place. We will definitely be back and recommend to all our friends.
NO MEAT, ITS JUST A STRAIGHT UP RIP OFF. WORSE ASIAN RESTAURANT.
Best green curry I can imagine. I haven't tried anything else though.
I was staying at the Westin Mariot in San antonio this past weekend. We wanted to try something local but different. We ran across Thai Lucky on S pine street, and we ordered the Tom Lha and the Phat Se-We! This was a true Hole-in-the-wall, the food was to die for and the service and people are so wonderful, their welcome into the restaurant warmed me as much as the food. Definitely coming back just for this. Worth the drive in any mood
Thai lucky is a fantastic spot for good wholesome filling curry.
One of my new favorite restaurants in San Antonio. The paht Thai was one of the best I’ve tried. The spring rolls were HUGE and delicious. I ordered and the food was ready promptly. I received all of my food and it was packaged perfectly.
Also, to the person who gave this amazing local restaurant one star, shame on you. Google has a menu and calling is not hard.
I ordered my food at this restaurant for pick up but walked to the wrong restaurant. The managers helped me get my order correctly. During my stay in SA i have eaten here 4 times and the food has always been excellent. My kid loves the egg rolls and the basil beef. I highly recommend this restaurant
The food is good but their website doesn't let you order online and they don't have a menu that you can review online before you order.
Ordered woon sen mild..when I went to pick up there was a roach on counter.. when I got food home it was extra spicy ( I ordered mild) .. I called back to complain and was told oh well no offer to remake.. my reward food poisoning vomiting and diarrhea all night long
Excellent food and service.
Love this place, great food and friendly staff. The ladys in the kitchen definitely have an authentic seasoning. Kudos to everyone in there.
Wasn’t lucky , just disappointed.
Ordered to go and was disappointed, order the thai catfish and I got a plate full of vegetables with three catfish pieces. Ordered two plates, a sushi roll, and a thai tea and it all came out to be $50. Never buying from here again.
We just stopped at this restaurant for dinner with sushi rolls, green curry, pad Thai, beef rice, fried rice...for 7 people! However, the fried rice was made from rotten rice and had a bad smell, the green curry is very very salted, the beef rice is salted too...we told the waitress and the owner but they didn’t admit their fault 😟!
We will never come back to this restaurant and will tell our friends to avoid this place when visiting San Antonio!
LT
Worst service from waitress ever!!!!!!! Bring the dish of sushi without chopstick and soysauce? What the heck? 5 people with 4 glasses of water? She is out of her mind! The order is taking 4ever!
I wish i could give this place ZERO stars. I had dental work done so I’m basically confined to soup and soft foods. I was craving pho and ordered from here. At first I was so excited at how quickly UBEREATS delivered, and then I opened up my broth. I found TWO small roaches floating in my food. I immediately contacted the restaurant and the guy on the phone didn’t seem to care. He just said to request a refund through UBEREATS. DO NOT EAT HERE.
We decided to eat at Thai Lucky for an early dinner knowing that they had great reviews but to our surprise, this was by far the worst experience we have had eating anywhere in San Antonio. There was only one lady that was the hostess, waitress, and everything else in between for the entire restaurant and it definitely showed.
1st - We were the only guests in the restaurant and it took two other families to sit down before we got our menus and/or drink orders.
2nd - There was absolutely no caffeine free drinks for the kids besides water and sweat tea.
3rd - Our food was delivered to a different table and then that same food was brought to our table once the mistake was realized.
4th - Once all of our food came out, we noticed that there was a dead fruit fly in our fried rice. After about 5 minutes of trying to get her attention, I ended up walking up to the front to show her our discovery and she was in complete denial until I showed her one of the legs that was sticking up.
5th - Our order came out wrong.
After eating one piece of sushi from each one of our sushi rolls and a super small portion of the fried rice, we called it quits and asked for the check. We ended up paying $70 for the fruit fly fried rice and everything else that we didn’t dare eat.
The egg rolls were bomb though!
This is a really good place to eat i definitely recommend it
So good!! 👍
This place was very sketchy, less than 5 minutes waiting outside for my friends to join us at the restuarant and there were many homeless people gathering around us asking for various things, and it did not feel safe. Proceed with caution 🙏
So good!! Our favorite dishes are the green curry and pad thai.
Horrible service. We've been customers for awhile and the food has been good, but we're really disappointed that the service has become so bad. It seems lately, there's one young man who takes the orders and payments. The orders are almost always wrong. We've politely pointed this out in the past, but he's combative and argues with us. He usually wears a politically-charged face mask (complete with expletives). He's free to express his opinions of course, but such in-your-face anger isn't exactly welcoming for business. Won't be going back.
Horrible!!! It’s hard to screw up chicken pho Thai! Noodles were dry, chicken very over cooked. Same with the curry my husband ordered. We ended up tossing it all in the trash and getting burgers. $24 in the trash.
The order was completely wrong. My husbands was supposed to be spicy mine sweet. His was sweet (diabetic so he couldn’t eat it) mine was so spicy I couldn’t eat it. The noodle dish I got was without any taste and the whole order must have been rushed and when it was delivered it was spilt and the broth from the pho spilt everywhere. 70.00 worth of food and nothing could be eaten.
Food is good but they have poor service and they never follow requested special order notes. For example extra sauce is not provided when requested.
The Panang curry was so so good! The outside is a little sketchy but definitely a great place for lunch/dinner take out 🙌🏽 The mild spicy was perfect and comfortable to eat.
Customer Service was awesome and very welcoming. Owner himself came and greeted us. A guy who served us looked very humble and served us so well. We ordered a tomyum Soup and pad thai noodle which was very tasty so we add one more order tomyum soup. Mild spicy level of tomyum is very recommended in this restaurant.
Unprofessional service and the manager, Jesse, should be fired for how he speaks to customers. I wish I could rate -2 stars.
Stinks like sewer inside. I ordered a glass of Merlot, the waiter came back to ask if it was a red or white wine...i understand he was young and didn't know wines yet but shouldn't the bartender know?!? When the glass came the amount was so little. (It costs $7.99 a glass.)I asked if I could have a little more for the price and the "bartender" and other lady behind the bar who seemed like the manager said no that's the right amount by their glass measure and held up a beer glass. I said nevermind. We decided to go elsewhere ....(Sushi Zushi) who knew what kind of wine merlot was and poured a correct amount of it to the same price!. I do not recommend eating at Thai Lucky!!!
Wait is long- for door dash
Food was okay but service was horrible. Ordered $60 worth of food to go and they gave me the wrong appetizer. Called to let them know and young girl was rude and told me that there was nothing they could I for me. Asked for manager and told me not he was there. Her customer service will deter me from returning again. Such a shame.
I found some of the best food in San Antonio!! Downtown has those blah tourist places but this was real Thai food done right; fresh, flavorful, great portions, served with a smile and fast.
Good fresh awesome food
What an amazing place in the downtown of San Antonio, TX!!
Food was amazing and staff was very friendly...don’t believe me? Come and try it :)
I ordered the pad thai "thai spicy", they delivered.
Wow !!! Amazing dishes amazing flavors . If your in the area and what try something different other than smoked bar b que I would definitely recommend visiting here. They offer limited dine in which me and my wife took advantage of. Great service at great price
Best Thai restaurant downtown
Great food! What a fantastic "find".
Would certainly come back
This was a very nice restaurant, the quality was nice. The food was always on time. The waitress were very nice and also very helpful with the menu. I plan on coming back again. I really recommended this restaurant.
