Full service Thai Restaurant in Stone Oak serving traditional thai taste. Chef Dow's authentic Thai dishes have the savory flavors that you will enjoy. "Sabai" means comfortable or relaxed, chill out. Open for lunch and dinner, take out and delivery also available.
Fresh and flavorful.
Sabai Thai Kitchen, located at 19141 Stone Oak Parkway, Suite 305, will not leave you dissapointed with menu features a variety of traditional Thai dishes that parents and kids can enjoy together. My 4 year old twins loves the food choices including:
Pad Thai: Stir-fried rice noodles with choice of protein, egg, tofu, sweet radish, and bean sprouts, topped with cilantro and served with ground peanuts and lime.
Drunken Noodles: A popular dish with flat rice noodles, vegetables, and Thai basil in a signature sauce.
Green Curry: A spicy curry with choice of protein, bell peppers, green beans, bamboo shoots, eggplant, zucchini, and Thai basil in a creamy coconut milk base.
Massaman Curry: A milder curry featuring protein options with potatoes, carrots, onions, and cashew nuts in a rich coconut milk sauce.
Pumpkin Curry: A unique offering with pumpkin, zucchini, bell peppers, green beans, and Thai basil in red curry and coconut milk.
The restaurant also offers appetizers like spring rolls, crab rangoon, and chicken satay, as well as desserts such as mango with sticky rice.
Great restaurant. Been there twice now since moving here a couple months ago. The Massaman Curry is extremely good, I recommend getting #3 Spicy level. Really punches the flavor of the dish. Our server was so great with my 4 year old daughter, who decided to let her know it was my birthday (2 weeks early), regardless they still brought out a scoop of ice cream and fire crackers. Very thoughtful.
Atmosphere is chill. Just a great spot in the middle of the burbs up here. Will be coming back.
From the minute we walked in the young lady that greeted us was incredibly friendly. This friend that met me there actually works nearby and had not been here so it was a first for the two of us. A pleasant surprise for us both. Amato was our server it was really a great again very friendly very attentive, we lacked for nothing. They have lunch specials for $10.95 that includes a small soup or small salad. (FYI tea is extra) I wanted to try the chicken wings so I did a small five piece. My friend wanted to try the spring rolls so they ordered those. All in all that was a lot of food especially considering these were the lunch portions. The atmosphere was pleasant and Serene and calm. They are my yin to my food yang. One of my favorite dishes is the drunken Noodle, sometimes referred to as crazy noodles. Can hardly wait to go back and try that.
The Chef is absolutely fantastic here! I’ve been to Thailand and have spent some time up in New York, where the Thai food is as good as it gets. The Chef at Sabai is darn excellent! I highly recommend the Pad-Kee-Ma (Drunken Noodles). The veggies are crisp, the spice is exactly as you order, the noodles are not sticking together, the basil is green and fresh. This is, hands down, the best Thai in San Antonio! I highly recommend it!
I had a dr. appt in the stone oak area last week wednesday. I was in the area so I stopped in for lunch... had PadWoonSen it was so tasty!!! I appreciate the server warning me for choosing spicy level 4. In my case, I LOVE Spicy food. The spicier the better. I was pleasantly surprised my lunch came with lemon grass soup. All was so good! I will be going back and try their other dishes!
I had one thing on my mind on the cold day I came in, Tom Ka Soup and this place did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and the place was clean and nicely decorated. This is the first time I've been to this restaurant since it changed ownership and it was still very good. I live the presentation of the soup in a hot pot with fire in the middle. Looks fun and keeps the soup nice and hot. It tasted delicious which topped of the whole experience.
Orders to go. Best pineapple rice ever omg!!
Wow, what a nightmare at Sabi Thai! I ordered red curry and cucumber salad through Uber Eats, and guess what? I never got my food! When I called the restaurant, they didn’t do much to help—just kept saying they handed over the food, and that was it. I tried reaching out to Uber Eats, but no one answered the customer service line. Everything’s supposed to be handled through the app, which is super frustrating. I did manage to get a refund for half my order, but that’s just not good enough. The manager on the phone just repeated the same thing over and over, which was really annoying. Honestly, I’m done with both of these places. They’re just scamming people!
Asked for a refund for mistakenly placed order. They never provided the refund.

Erica and the boys are so warm and welcoming and the food is amazing quality and an even better price

Cool place! Food and drink were great and priced reasonably. Watch out when you are asked what heat level you prefer(1-5). 3 is fairly hot, 4 and 5 will have you sweating.
We went to Sabai Thai Kitchen with a party of 4 on Black Friday, to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant itself was cute and relaxing. We collectively ordered the Crab Rangoon and Spring Rolls as appetizers, and drank Thai Teas all around. I also ordered a Mango margarita which was nice. Our main entrees included the Panang Curry, the Massaman Curry, an Eggplant Basil Shrimp Dish, and also the Pumpkin curry. All things were fabulous. I tasted them all. 😛 I greatly appreciated the portion sizes. You get what you pay for. This is not one of those restaurants where you pay a high fee to receive a super tiny (but very elegantly dressed) plate. No. The curry bowls were pretty AND big and filling, and I was delighted to have some leftovers for dinner tonight. Although I will say I was quite a bit food-hungover from Thanksgiving yesterday, so that very much contributed to my inability to eat as much of my dish as I would have liked. I especially enjoyed MY entre, which was the Spicy Massaman Curry. Fabulous rich flavor. Our waitress was very kind and attentive and sweet, and was great with recommendations about the menu. All staff members were very friendly. They kindly did a birthday song with us, and had some garnished ice cream for the birthday gal. She had a wonderful time and was very pleased with the food and everything, all around. I am very certain that (I) and (we) will be returning here in the future, when we are in that area of town again. Thank you!

The food here is delicious, everything is fresh, cooked to order, and the service is always great! This is my new favorite spot!
This kitchen is amazing!! the food was great and came out immediately with no wait and the food was hot and fresh!! There was this one young man named "Emilio" who helped me and my husband out with our orders, and it was his first day and I was super surprised!! 10/10 would recommend to ANYBODY in the area or anybody in San Antonio, would visit again.
As a worker here I just wanted to say it was my first time ever trying Thai food today I tryed the dinner pad Thai for the first time ever and I have to say I really loved it ! I give it a 10/10 and really recommend trying. Thank you to sabai Thai kitchen 👍
great food and service!!
Very friendly and good Thai food soups were great
Very weird. Been ordering chicken pad thai here since before the management change.
Our pad thai is Orange... almost looks like spaghetti. Ok not almost, it LOOKS LIKE SPAGHETTI. Tastes ok but not the same.
Called, they said they got it right. OK, last time customer.
This place does not disappoint! Such fantastic flavor. I don't do reviews, but this place deserves recognition. 4 Stars all around!
Overpriced and mediocre at best. Have been here numerous times since they sadly took over from Thai Chili and while at first the food was ok but overpriced, lately the food quality has dropped as well.
Stopped by around 6pm on a weekday with my kiddo and we were the only table seated for the entire hour that we were there. The beef in my noodle dish had the consistency of jerky, the sauce had none of the subtly associated with that dish, the noodles were stuck together and only sauced on one side, and finally once I noticed that the background music was dropping f-bombs while half the clientele was 8 years old, I had to get up and track down the waitress who was just sitting around in an adjoining room, to ask that they change the music.
Love Thai food, but not here. Doubt we'll be back.
I came in here to waste some time. I only ordered a taro boba and man is it good! If you are looking for a good boba, this is your spot
Got their pad se ew with tofu and it was delicious! The portion was generous and tofu was perfect! My man got wonton soup and said it was really good!
Place was very clean, server was tentative. And the food was amazing !!! The plates are big so if you come I'd reccomend sharing...
I absolutely love this place! Great food! Awesome customer service! Friendly prices!
I always request the waitress LeeLee, she has an upbeat positive attitude and makes me feel welcomed. Thank you LeeLee for always making my experience here positive.
Now I’m gonna order some spring rolls from you guys.
Thank you and keep up the great work.
Leelee Garcia is very sweet and great at what she does. I will definitely be coming back and sending my family and friends over. Thank you LeeLee💙
100% recommend this restaurant ❤️ The red curry with tofu was creamy and absolutely delicious! The service was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and professional. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with beautiful wall art. The whole dining experience was amazing. Thank you!!!
Came in around the evening dinner rush , my first time coming in since the owners changed. Loved this place. The restaurant was packed with one waitress, food was great, service was great. She was swamped but still offered great service. I want to say her name was LiLi. All around highly recommend.
I’m living in Tennessee and many times l need drive to west USA, and always l stop eat SABAI only place l found greatest flavors like Thailand even BETTER!!!!
Do not come here. Horrible service. No one was up in the front to seat me and when I finally got seated I was told it would be a second which is fine. The problem is the waitress manage to charge another customer and seat 2 more customers whom she pro welded to get their drinks and take their order. When I tried to get waitress attention I was ignored. Definitely will not come back.
Best Thai hands-down and all of San antonio. The noodles are fresh vegetables are fresh and the flavor is spot on. If you’re looking for the best Thai restaurant in San Antonio check this place out you won’t regret it. The people are kind and friendly and SERVICES is great. Wish I could give more than five stars.
Best Thai food in SA.
Very good. The peanut sauce is a bit spicy. The calamari had jalapeños. I ordered drunken noodles level spice 5/5 and it was too spicy for me but I kept eating because it was that good. The cucumber salad is just cut up cucumber and red onion in a rice vinegar type juice- so I wasn’t sure what to use that on since we had pad Thai and spring rolls too. I thought it was gonna be strands of cucumber and some other type of veggies similar to a Japanese cucumber salad but still it was good. Simple but good.
The pad Thai was amazing. We got it with shrimp. The spring rolls don’t come with shrimp so we added them and paid more. So good. There were 3 rolls! Pre cut down the middle. If you like spicy this place is for you. But if you don’t they will accommodate your taste so make sure to ask.
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in ages! Our waitress Erica was over the top helpful and nice! I will eat here again!
Our server Denise was very attentive, nice, and helpful, a very polite lady. The food was plentiful with how much it is and a very good variety in menu! Would recommend!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sabai Thai, and I have to commend Denise, our waitress, for her outstanding service. Denise's warm and friendly demeanor made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. She was attentive without being overbearing, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect.
The food was equally impressive. Each dish was delicious, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Denise was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed. Her efficiency and attention to detail were evident throughout the meal, from taking our order to ensuring that our drinks were always refilled.
Overall, the combination of Denise's exceptional service and the restaurant's fantastic food made for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend Sabai Thai and look forward to returning soon.
Very good Thai food, as hot as you like it! Fresh tasting and generous portions. Great service.
We came in to have a quick appetizer about 30 min before closing. The waiter was rude and refused to seat us, because they were too close to closing.
If you want dry stringy meat, the wrong order and an incredibly rude manager/owner to insult you then come here. I ordered pad wun sen and sesame chicken and all of the meat was old and dry. They gave me pork instead of chicken but proceeded to tell me I didn’t know what I was talking about. When I went back to tell them and request my money back the male owner was difficult the entire time and refused to refund me until his wife had to get involved. Once he decided to give me my money back he told me he “hope I never see you again” . Do not come here, go to Thai Chili or Thai Hut much better all across the board.
Sabai Thai is exceptional in every way. Sabai has raised the bar on Thai food in Stone Oak and San Antonio. Fresh basil rolls, papaya salad, pad woon sen, and drunken noodle are among the staples we commonly order. All are excellent, as are the soups and every other dish we've had. Whether dining in or taking out, the food is fresh, tasty, and will not disappoint. If taking out, I like to order ahead and the website is incredibly easy to use. Sabai will remain our go-to Thai restaurant. We are thrilled with their food, service, and everything about them!
NO SE LOS RECOMIENDO. Ordené online pad Thai “spicy” y también ordené noodle con pollo. Terminaron dándome lo mismo dividido en platos, ni siquiera hicieron el que había pedido spicy.
We were told by the waiter that it was faster to order and pay via their app. This means if you want an appetizer before your dinner, you have to order it first, pay, (& tip before getting served) and then go back and order your dinner with the same process. We were in a hurry to be somewhere so we did it anyway. I ordered a noodle dish with three (1-5) as a spice level. My husband ordered a curry also with three as a spice level. They were no where near the same level of heat. I couldn’t even eat more than a few bites of his curry, but it seemed to have good flavor. My noodle dish was mushy and lacked flavor especially salt. The order system was very off putting but the food was so mediocre I won’t go back. Our waiter was attentive and the only thing good about the experience.
One of best thai restaurants in Stone Oak. Portions are huge and food was very delicious. I ordered shrimp with fried rice and jasmine tea and finished with coconut ice cream. Definitely recommend!!
Food is excellent , service was fantastic especially the welcoming lady, sorry didn’t catch the name. Forgot to take pictures but would highly recommend this establishment!
Great service, tasty fresh food. Had a nice lunch with my husband there today! I recommend this place
Went here yesterday to try their pad Thai and lettuce wraps the tofu was full of flavors and the servings were great and fresh one of the best Thai places I’ve tried so far and make sure you ask for Amador he was super nice and made sure I had a good experience with great service and hospitality ❤️
The food and service are amazing. Their curries are so warm, silky and inviting. I've tried many of their dishes and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent and quick, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Great for lunch or a nice dinner. Also try the Thai Tea- it's amazing.
I had a dr. appt in the stone oak area last week wednesday.
Wow! It had been a while since we had eaten at Sabai Thai, and we're not sure why. The food and service were exemplary....and the spice was spot on! We'll be back much sooner!
The food here is incredible! We ordered the pad cashew and the red curry and it was delicious and perfectly made to our liking. Our server Amado was amazing and he displayed some of the best service I’ve seen in a while!! We will definitely be back!
I appreciate great service along with great food, and I got exactly that at Sabai. Rose was a hustler, extremely accommodating and just amazing. The food was great as well. I got the sweet and sour chicken lunch special with a soup. Very good stuff.
From the minute we walked in the young lady that greeted us was incredibly friendly. This friend that met me there actually works nearby and had not been here so it was a first for the two of us. A pleasant surprise for us both. Amato was our server it was really a great again very friendly very attentive, we lacked for nothing. Can hardly wait to go back and try that.
Brought the family to try their Pad Thai, drunken noodles, and curry which were all not tasting good as agreed by my family and myself… The food was either too salty, lacking flavor, and just not delicious (I’m not a food critic) by no means but what doesn’t taste good just doesn’t taste good. There are other Thai places that serve more authentic Thai food than this place… Talking about Thai chille, and other hole in the wall joints!
Our favorite Thai place, and we’ve tried a lot of them. The best and only Thai place you need in town. Full stop.
Love the Tom Kha, Panaang Curry, and drunken noodles. I usually get a spice level of 2 or 3- which is not very spicy and very flavorful.
We came in from Philadelphia and found this Spot. My Family travels the Country with my Sons Tennis. This has been by far the Greatest Thai food we have ever had. Im blown away with the Quality of the Food and Service. The Owner is hands on to make sure we had a great experience. If we lived here i would literally eat here several times a week. Wow what an amazing experience a must do if your in the Area.
Best regards
Jim
Friendly, fast and most delicious.
The server was amazing. She was very attentive and she was the only one doing everything for all the tables. The food was ok a bit dry.
Me and a guest had dinner tonight at Sabai Thai. One of my favorite restaurants in the Stone Oak area. Their food is always consistently high quality and great flavors. Service from Tony deserves five stars. He is always welcoming and attentive throughout my time at the restaurant. This is a high quality place and I highly recommend the food at Sabai Thai.
Had dinner for two tonight and it was delicious! Owner Tony and his staff were excellent and timely in their attention to us. Both had curry dishes and awesome spring rolls. Will definitely recommend this jewel of a restaurant to all friends and family.
My mom and I enjoyed the chicken noodle soup and the Thai fried rice, both were delicious!!! The place was also very clean and pretty, definitely 10/10!
Great place where to eat Thai food. Very tasty. Server is so kind. I recommend.
Best curry we ever had
The pumpkin curry is great with chicken or shrimp.
This was our first time in, and I would have ranked it better until the owner became involved. At that point, it was evident they were more concerned about hanging onto wrongfully gained money than customers. After eating lunch, one of us ordered the advertised Boba tea. It came out looking incorrect and without a straw to drink it with. When the check arrived, the price wasn't right, so I questioned the bill. They refused to change the price although they admitted to giving the wrong drink to us. The only option we had was for them to make the correct drink AND for us to still pay the higher incorrect charge!! We had already waited an additional 10 minutes and late getting back to work. I decided to leave cash and never patron the place again.
Unbelievable! Went in to order a 'to-go'. Staff gave my order to another customer who left the restaurant to head home. They called him back and expected me to be happy to take food that had been served to someone else. Am immunocompromised from cancer treatment and respectfully requested my order be made fresh. The chef REFUSED. They refunded my credit card and I ended up taking the returned food for my family as it did not look opened but do plan to call the health department! We will miss this restaurant but cannot bring ourselves to go there again.
We've been many times and have yet to find a dish that wasn't absolutely delicious! They are great about allowing things to be added or taken out of dishes. The service is always outstanding and friendly.
Service was exceptional. Food was good I would surely eat there again
I paid almost $20 for rice and more rice, I found 3 small pieces of chicken. This is ridiculous. I do not recommend this place at all. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
This was our second visit here at lunchtime. The food both times was outstanding. The manager, Lara, could not have been more welcoming, pleasant and attentive. If I had to offer any constructive criticism, it is that the restaurant could use a facelift. The uninspired decor does not match the inspired quality of the food. Otherwise, i have nothing but praise for this business and I look forward to returning soon and recommending it to my friends, as well.
I liked the previous restaurant, Thai Chili cuisine and was sad when it changed, BUT this place is even better! We had the pad woon sen with tofu & pad Thai with chicken. Both were delicious - fresh ingredients & very flavorful. The serving sizes are large (enough for a little over 2 meals for us). We had medium spice & I’d say it fit medium - a little spicy but nothing extreme.
Update 9/2023 (5 stars to 2-3), Sadly this restaurant has changed & not for the better. The last several times I’ve had pad woon sen, it had zero flavor. I recently tried to request more sauce/flavor, I was told for $1 I could add gravy but they weren’t sure if it was the same sauce or not (no offer to find out either). It’s too expensive to gamble, so I guess I’m done ordering food from here - which is unfortunate as it was so good when it first opened.
Great food but no more buffet
Ordered takeout from here. We chose the Thai Spicy level drunken noodles and crab rangoon! It was really good. My sister also ordered a side of Peanut Sauce. Only complaint is they give you very little peanut sauce, which is watery, for $2.50 (too much in my opinion). Otherwise, good food!
Unfortunately I did not know ownership had changed 😕 Just ate there last week and the sesame chicken was so hard you could barely get a fork thru it. Thai Chilies 🌶️ use to be my favorite place to eat and Andy and crew made it that way. Guess I will find someplace else
Best place ive ever been
Had a diarrhea the second day after dining there. I went alone and ordered drunken noodle but the rice noodle were either in small broken pieces or sticked together as a big chunk. My friend later told me that it usually means the rice noodle wasn’t fresh and probably had been at least a day old. I couldn’t tell at the time probably because the strong flavor was covering it.
I really enjoyed my food unfortunately the person I was eating with didn’t like his food and asked to get something else. Someone from the back I’m assuming the chef came up to us told him he should’ve read the menu better before ordering and basically shamed him for not liking the beef noodle soup. He didn’t like it because there was barely any beef at all and we didn’t even see any noodles. We were not a huge fan of the attitude she gave us. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful but the lady who came to talk to us from the back was unnecessarily rude. I understand if she would’ve just come up and been professional about it asking if he just didn’t understand something on the menu. However coming up here, being disrespectful, shaming the customer and basically questioning whether he could read was uncalled for. When paying the chef refused to take the soup off the bill and we had to pay for 3 meals.
It's ridiculous the waiting time more then an hour, food is good but no worth it!
We just discovered this place not too long ago. We have eaten at the restaurant a couple of times, and the food has been outstanding. Today we decided to order in, and we were very happy to see that the quality and quantity is the same as if we were there. The food is consistently good. We are very happy to have found this restaurant.
I visited the restaurant on two different occasions. First time I visited. I liked food and services. I can’t say the same for my second visit there. There was a big fight between the server/owner and the cook. As the cook threatened to quit spontaneously, the server stopped taking any new order, and we had to wait a while before our orders were served. Unfortunately, those weren’t what we ordered. When we brought that to the owners attention, we were treated very rudely, and forced to pay for those items. Although the restaurant is conveniently located close to my residence, we never returned there.
When we arrived the restaurant was empty but we were promptly seated and got our appetizer. The main meals took longer which meant the food would be fresh! The drunken noodles were cooked to perfection with a level 4 heat so hot and fresh! Our waitress was super nice and we enjoyed all the plates, very great portions!
Chicken panang curry, chicken pad thai, thai spring rolls… all fire 🔥🔥🔥‼️‼️
Sweet little place . Love it
The food and service was excellent and very well priced. Highly recommend the Panang Curry baby back ribs!
First time customer for a pick up order that somehow was a mess up. I like my pad thai with shrimp and my order came up with a little sad piece of chicken and a ton of noodles, besides the good flavor, I would like to suggest more appropiate portions of protein and veggies vs noodles. Also there was a fried tofu meal but it look more like an appetizer, so I am not sure what was going on there. To conclude, the flavor is good, spiciness average, time to pick up was appropiate, location convinient, easy parking, and my order was not what I request but I would like to give it another chance dine in, and see if there is any change.
Ordered delivery through Uber eats & the food was fantastic! Will definitely be ordering again in the future!
One of my favorite places for Thai food in San Antonio! Great Pad Thai and Pad See Ew, appetizers, curries, honestly everything I've tried is awesome. Spice level is perfect (I normally get a 3 out of 5, which always comes out great).
*One tip for management: The menus need to be reprinted, as so many items are scratched out and repriced, making it confusing.*
Food is still 5 stars though! Will continue to go back weekly.
This little restaurant is gem! The food is absolutely fantastic with the best calamari I’ve had. I meant to take a photo of my meal but between the drool inducing smell and excellent presentation I couldn’t wait. This is my second trip here and both times have been rewarding and highly enjoyable for exceptionally reasonable prices. This place is a blessing to those that have access to it don’t miss it!
There wasn't a big selection at the " Buffet" lunch special but it was good
Update: this was before the got under new management, haven’t been but I’m sure it’s good .
This chefs special with chicken and coconut curry is amazing
Best thing I’ve ever had at a Thai restaurant
Love it
I eat here often and everything is really good but tonight I decided to try something different which was a Chef’s Special called Khao Soi Gai.
It was super delicious! I highly recommend it.
Another one of their Chef’s Specials that I tried a few weeks ago was a unique Thai version of baby back ribs. It was excellent as well.
The servings here are super huge so even the hardiest of appetites will be satisfied.
Don’t forget to try the coconut ice cream if you still have any room left after the meal!
We normally eat here frequently, everything on the menu is very good ! We had the chefs special, which it was the baby back ribs and khao soi gai, it’s a must try !
Great food!
My favorite sesame chicken in town!!!! Enhanced by adding spice 1-5. The Thai food is amazing as well.
Absolutely love Sabai Thai Kitchen! The service, the food and the Thai beer are always on point. Their Pad Thai is delicious and indeed their Pumpkin Curry is one of the best out there. The selection of dishes are always top notch and we sample a new dish every time we go. The Chef is indeed Thai and she is phenomenal! Always a pleasant experience at Sabai Thai Kitchen and we take pride in supporting a local business!
My favorites are the vegetable soup, chicken noodles soup, basil fried rice and stir fry vegetables with chicken. I'm a very happy loyal customer. Quality of their food is visible through presentation and taste. Love the food from here.
They clearly are committed to using high quality ingredients. I'm relieved this place is delicious and will serve our thai food cravings! I had stir fried vegetables with beef and my husband had the green curry. We enjoyed the fact that they carry wine too!
Sabai Thai added a new dish to their menu: Panang Pork Ribs. It is tender fall off the bone ribs that’s simmered for at least 3 hours, smothered in Panang curry sauce. It’s served with a side of broccoli and a serving of rice. By far this dish is my new favorite and is nothing short of DELICIOUS! This was actually my husband’s dish and I ordered their green curry. It’s also very good, but when I got a taste of the Panang pork ribs… O-M-G sooo good!
Great
Husband and I ordered two appetizers and one entrée. The entrée was Pad Sesame Chicken but the chicken pieces were so hard/dry/chewy that you could not even stick a fork in them. We immediately called to the attention of both our server and the manager, they apologized. The manager said “ Yeah, we use white meat, chicken, and if you fry it, it sometimes gets chewy.“ I think I know how chicken should taste. We were longtime customers of Thai Chili, but after they changed hands, this place is the pits. We asked for a check, and was shocked to see that they charged us full price for the dish we didn’t eat. Too bad, will never go back!
This is my favorite Thai food restaurant in San Antonio. I have been eating here for 2 years now, and the food is always delicious. Would 100% recommend
Best Pad thai in San Antonio. I loved thai food from Chicago. This pad Thai made me remember Chicago!
Drunken noodles are excellent
We love good Thai food. My wife is Thai and she said this is best Thai food she has had in San Antonio. I never contradict her about food.
Probably the best pad Thai I’ve ever gotten in SA or Austin. Usually leftovers the following day are dry but these were still just as delicious! We also got spring rolls and Tom yum soup, both were equally delicious. Ordering was easy, and it was ready fast but not suspiciously fast. Will definitely be our go to Thai place from now on!
Ate here for the first time it was delicious , I’ll be back
This has become one of our go-to restaurants for Friday Family Dinner. The green curry, pad tai, duck with red curry, and tom yum soup are our favorite dishes. Everything is delicious and the service is personal, friendly, and a reason why we come back.
Delicious. Love this place
Their Pad Thia is amazing. Service is always great too!
Forgot half my order. Flavor was good though!
Clean restaurant, friendly staff, great Thai food!
Delicious, great portions! Ordered delivery from Sabai for the first time yesterday and everything turned out really well made and delicious!
We orsered Chicken pad Thai, basil fresh rolls, Thai spring rolls, and a side of rice. Highly recommend and will order from Sabai again.
Great dinner last night food was tasty and service was fantastic! Highly recommended
Ok so here’s the deal. This is absolutely the best Thai I have had in The states. Pad soon Sen is what is pictured today. When you get it take out the moment you open the box. You are hit with the aromatics of deliciousness in every bite. Goal try everything on menu twice.
Nice and quick for lunch hour
This place is amazing!! The flavor is so delicious and authentic. Pad Woonsen is just like what you get in Thailand and so is their fried rice. Definitely recommend.
Loved it! Panang curry was wonderful. Great customer service.
Sabai Thai: Yesterday, we tried Sabai Thai Kitchen in Stone Oak for dinner. It had taken over the spot that used to be Thai Chili.
We ordered the Thai Spring Roll which was good. We shared the Pineapple Fried Rice and Pad Thai with chicken. The chicken was moist. Both dishes needed much lime infusion to bring out the flavors. We supplied the limes so it's 4 stars for those dishes. My husband tried the Shrimp Red Curry and gives it 5 stars. The dumpling soup is very flavorful! We have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. Glad we gave it a try but definitely need to have limes on hand.
Give them a try if you're in the area!
Review for Thai Chili:
We've often ordered to go here at Thai Chili since the pandemic. Last week, we ordered several dishes for dinner and had enough for another couple of meals.
We got the Woon Sen soup which was very filling with chicken. Had the garden rolls as appetizers which my Dad enjoys. We also got the shrimp pineapple fried rice, crab fried rice and pad thai with chicken.
What we love is the flavor of the dishes though the Crab fried rice didn't have too much crab in it. We can count on the quality of food each time here.
Buena comida y servicio, además de pr cual razonable.
Hands down the best Thai food around!!
We have been going to this location for years when it used to be Thai Chili. Today, we tried it under the new management and name. Our experience was great- better in a lot of ways! THE CURRY WAS DELICIOUS! We tried 3 different ones and liked them better now than before. Also, the new owner is super sweet! Our waitress was helpful and kind. We will definitely be back and try some of the new things on the menu. But definitely recommend the pumpkin and massaman curry- so much flavor!
I have had authentic Thai in Hawai'i from the Thai population and my wife taught English in Thailand for a year.
This place has the best green curry I've ever had. I work nearby and have it every chance I can. I will be back, and I will always recommend this restaurant.
POOR!!!! DO NOT GO!!
I used to frequent Thai Chilli. I was a regular customer Pre-pandemic. I didn't realize that the owners changed until coming on here to leave my Review. I've never been so disappointed in service and quality. I'm sad that I will no longer be returning to this place. My go to order was always the Chicken Pad Thai, served with a small side of rice. They took the rice away and the small soup as an appetizer was mediocre. Lunch special always came with a small savory soup and a salad. This new place makes you choose one or the other. That's fine.
The disappointment came with the order of CHICKEN sweet and sour that my husband ordered. The waitress never came back to check on us and we just shared my small portion of lunch pad Thai. By the time she came back we were done and the very sad looking Chicken Sweet and Sour sat. We didn't touch it but to only look for the "chicken" in the dish to which was very little. Had the waitress come back to check on us we would have liked to have ordered more Chicken or something else. We did not feel it was right to pay for a dish we didn't eat. The head waiter man came over and did not help at all. He asked to use my dirty fork so he could sift through the plate and justify the plate. This was so disgusting and appalling. He further said if we didn't pay for that disappointing chickenless plate we didn't eat he was going to call the Police on us!! WHAT!!
He didn't try to make it right, he could have done a million things differently to make the situation better but instead he threatened to call the police on us or he said we could just sit there until we paid. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD EVER GO THROUGH SOMETHING LIKE THAT. Humiliated that someone threatened to call the police over thai food. I JUST WANTED PAD THAI for lunch, instead we got an angry heartless man that screamed "Wendy is not going to make any money!" I would have been happy to pay for double protein....but NO... instead I just will never go back and I will ensure every one I know is informed! I'm a working professional and have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. I know times are tough and everyone is struggling to make ends meet, I would have been happy to pay for extra.
Delicious soup! Flavors are more authentic and complex than what was previously available. This is a family owned food truck turned brick and mortar and I hope they stay!
Tried for first time dine in, service was good, Thai noodle soup had good flavor, Thai beef salad okay, Pad won sen - no flavor.
Generally never give 5 stars, but my wife said "Best F'n Pad Thai she has ever eaten. So there you go.
Also had the basil Summer rolls, which on a very hot day really cooled off the palate. As well as the Pineapple Fried rice, of which I will agree with my wife on.
I do wish they were closer to the house for two reasons. The obvious is that we will need to drive a bit of distance to get there, but also the serving sizes are quite large so we ended eating up what could have been shared with others or brought home.
Also for those of us that care, vegetarian is available on most everything.
Excelentes sabores y precios
Great tasty food.
I'll miss Thai Chili here, but Sabai Thai was an excellent replacement!
Another long time fan of the previous Thai restaurant in this location. I am so happy to see how well the new owners are doing. The menu is such an improvement as is the cooking is exceptional. I visit about 2 times per week and although I tend to order the same things, everything I've tried has been outstanding! My favorite is the Pad Kra Pao with a 4 spice level. I Highly recommend this Thai restaurant for the attentive staff that really hustles when its busy, the friendly and talented owners/chef and the quality of the food.
Much better than before! Sabai Thai should be considered a whole new restaurant since it has new ownership and a new chef as of a month ago. While the old Thai Chili restaurant was decent, Sabai has definitely improved the flavors! I had the Massaman Chili - it was excellent with deep, rich flavor! My wife enjoyed her Pad Thai as well. Our little one liked his kid's meal too. The portions were generous. We had enough to take home of each of our dishes.
Went here to get food for my family and everyone loved what they got! Parents enjoyed the fried rice(Thai fried rice/Drunken Fried Rice), little sister enjoyed the orange chicken kids meal, and I LOVED the beef pad thai. The guy at the counter was very friendly and patient with me while I picked what to order. I would definitely come back to this restaurant to try out other items on the menu.
Overall: Food was delicious, inside the restaurant was very clean and maintained, staff was very friendly, and food was prepared really quick so it wasn't much of a wait. You should definitely try the Thai tea too!
Edit:
This location is no longer called Thai Chili Cuisine, it is now Sabai Thai and at first I was a bit skeptical, and I will admit my first visit at this updated location I was left displeased with the pad thai I had loved here for so long. The scaling was changed, 1-5 instead of 1-10, which in itself isnt a big deal but when I ordered a 3, it wasnt even mildly spicy, my little sister could eat it and that's saying something considering she's 5. I spoke openly with my server, who I can't for the life of me remember her name...when I go back later this week I'll ask, but regardless she was the server for TCC so I was more than happy to speak honestly with her about my concerns and she listened to me whole heartedly and expressed the news some regulars haven't been returning...well I decided to give it another chance because hey, can't judge food on the first go.
I ordered pad thai, same spice and all, and it came out spicy as h*ll, excuse my french, but it was so good I loved it. I would say, yes it's not the same as TCC, but it has grown on me, it's a lovely location here in stone oak and the food is not bad...but I will also admit, I ordered a 4 spice the other day and it wasn't even spicy...like at all. It's a real hit and miss with the spices, but if you add some sriracha all will be well.
TLDR; This is not Thai Chili, its Sabai Thai, it's going to taste different, but trust me, give it a shot or two, I recommend this place to all my thai food lovers. But also, Pad thai comes with cilantro, if that's not your forte, request to not have it, I learned my lesson 3 times over lol. Also, spices are hit and miss, I'll ask next time I go if they could possibly bring some spices to the table if I want to kick up the heat.
Better than Thai Chili; the manager seems to actually have the passion to run this restaurant. Just heads up, it can get very busy and they're short staffed like everywhere else so be patient. It'll be worth it
The food was all amazing! The drunken noodles are awesome and so is the pad thai. You can tell everything is made from scratch and they care about the food they put out. Plus the portions are huge! It's a must try!!!!
Staff is very friendly and the food is awesome! I definitely recommend this place. The environment is also pretty relaxing.
Very nice food. Great service. Ise was awesome.
Absolutely, totally enjoyable and delicious Thai cuisine!! Having grown up in Bangkok, I can guarantee that you will be back for more!! Great staff and owner interaction. So fresh, tangy and yum!! Don't miss this gem of a restaurant. Lunch specials are ginormous👍
Welcome to the neighborhood! We were expecting to have lunch at Thai Chili and when we arrived we noticed a new sign on the building. Since we were craving Thai food we decided to take a chance and try this new restaurant. We were really impressed with the quality of everything we ordered. We started with the Basil roll (rice paper wrapped lettuce, carrots, bean sprouts, noodles, basil, shrimp), this appetizer came with warm peanut sauce which was fantastic. We then moved onto the chicken Pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, pad Kra Pao. The flavors of all of these dishes were incredible. Our only regret is that we did not bring 5 of our friends with us to enjoy this amazing meal considering the size of the servings. We have enough left overs to last a few days. We will be back for sure!!P
My wife and I had been loyal fans of Thai Chili - Stone Oak since they opened. We had some anxiety when we went and found a new name, Sabai Thai Kitchen AND new owners. Our anxiety was quickly replaced with a very pleasant welcome and a new menu (with all our favorites). The ‘ old standards’ ( sesame chicken for my bride and thai BBQ pork for me) were even better than they had been the last few times before the new owners. AND the the service was excellent. It was attentive and considerate without being intrusive. It was a great meal and experience at our new favorite Thai food place, Sabai Thai Kitchen.
Very friendly staff. Food tasted very delicious.
I was surprised that the name had changed which I am assuming it meant new owners. Ok, fair enough. My dinner partner and I walked in and waited maybe a couple of minutes to be seated. Not bad! Except the gentleman that came up was let's say... on the cold side. No welcome, no smile. Just to ask Take out or sit down? We said sit down. All he said was Oh! Sit anywhere. He could have at least shown us to a table considering they haven't been open long.
Waitress came gave us a menu, asked what we wanted to drink. Because it was a slightly different menu I asked how many spring rolls were per order. She said 5. Yay me! Really that was 1 of the reasons I went there. So we ordered 1 order in addition to chicken lettuce wraps, each order vegetable soup.
Waitress then said that I couldn't order the spring rolls because they didn't have any. What? Why didn't she say that when I asked about them?
Ok, ordered pot stickers instead.
When appetizers came the lettuce wraps looked awful. The lettuce was literally in chunks. No way to fill with anything. To be honest, the chicken looked like a cross between chorizo and picadillo. I explained that there was no way to fill the lettuce with anything. She in a not so nice tone said Oh yes, you get your spoon and scoop it in the lettuce. I showed her the chunks of lettuce. She took the plate to the gentleman was there not sure if he was owner, manager. He never came over to ask or say anything. We decided to order crab Rangoon instead.
Ok, so after that drama our food came. I can honestly it was wonderful. We both really enjoyed it.
Now more drama. As soon as I got into my car,I could not move. I had the absolutely worse stomach cramps ever. After about 10 minutes I decided to drive to my sister's house as she lives closer to the restaurant. I got there no sooner as I walked in let's just say my stomach wanted no part of what I just ate. My sister was also ill with the same symptoms as I had.
Took me about an hour + to be able to drive home.
D
This place had gone downhill. The Sesame Chicken is bland and the flavor has changed; the chicken is tough and stringy; like eating straw. Used to love this place, but now its time to change.
Great food and great customer service! love coming for the lunch specials
New owners, but same great food if not better than before. The staff is vigilant and courteous. Of course, the food is what stands out the most, top notch stuff
Today I wanted to stop by Thai Chili not realizing the named changed to Sabai Thai Kitchen. Well, I reluctantly gave it a try and to my surprise it was excellent. I had the Beef Pad Woon Sen which was medium spice and packed with tasty flavor. The soup and rangoon appetizer were also very tasty. The service was great and the new owners were super nice acknowledging all the new customers. Sabai Thai has certainly won my business. Highly recommended!
The management recently changed, but the food still tastes great!
I happended to drive by after visiting another business in this shopping area. This restaurant just reopended five days ago. It used to be Thai Chili, but now it is Sabai Thai. Owner very gracious.
I am waiting for my food!
Just as good as the location on Thousand oaks. Always recommend the Pad thai w chicken or beef.
Been coming here for six years and it’s our favorite local Thai. The curries are terrific. Also, I’m sitting here watching the guy running the front door and take out operation, and he’s really impressive. Busy night, lots of customers and phone calls, and this guy is keeping his cool.
There's a HUGE sign on the window saying lunch buffet Monday-Friday $8.95 and when we arrived the staff told us they are no longer offering the buffet. Take the sign down! We literally went just for the buffet. So we left, disappointed and hungry.
Really great food!
