Definitely one of my favorite Houston restaurants. Customer service is top tier and the food here is absolutely delicious. My go-to items are the pork dumplings and the coconut green curry with short rib. I also love that they have a kids meal for my kiddos.

Although I made reservations and did not specify that I wanted outside seating, we got escorted to an outside table on a HOT Houston day. Can't say I enjoyed the dinner because I was more concerned about wiping sweat off my face and getting a fan for some air to cool off. We tried the shrimp and chicken pad thai, and it needed more sauce, a bit on the dryer side for my taste. That was just my experience. Don't let the review keep you from trying it.

Came here for a dinner on a Friday night. It's charming Thai restaurant in an nice Uptown area close by the Galleria. The food is delicious and tasty. Mussels in Red curry really got me clean up the plate. Short rib, Pad Thai, and Pad See Yew are all great and worth to try out. Definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone love Thai cuisine.

I am living in Germany and I go to Songkran whenever I am in Houston. This is clealy the best Thai cuisine outside of Thailand. My favorite dishes are the heavenly beef and the soft shell crab - a must-have for anyone who loves good food. And you should not miss the lychee martini.

Kevin, our waiter was the best part of this experience. We ordered beef, satay, drunken noodles and lemongrass soup. The beef sauté was tender and cooked to perfection. The meat and noodles and the junk noodle were overcooked. I couldn’t even use my knife to cut through the meat, the lemon grass soup lacked lemon grass overall the food la Thai tradition and felt very bougie and fake.

I have eaten here many times. I always enjoy the atmosphere, service and food. The only disappointment is the dumplings. They are too much dough and very little meat. It’s tough rather than tender.

The food wasn't that great. Ordered beef satay and told the waiter that I'm pregnant and the beef needs to be cooked well done with no pink. The beef came to the table and it was bright red on the inside I had to spit it out. Honestly made me question if the chicken was cooked enough because the food came out super fast.

The first time I had the pad Thai, it was good If you order the Khao Soi, get extra noodles on the side because the curry is SO good, you'll want more noodles than it comes with and there's always extra curry! be prepared to stand in line during peak lunch/dinner hours.

Another great meal with the BEST Thai food I have found in Houston! Great and friendly service, and great wine selection, too! They are very authentic in their flavors and style, and you will feel like you're back in Khao San road in Bangkok. They have great traditional dishes but also have some fusion. They are also willing to cook a little off the menu if you have an old favorite that doesn't appear.
Great beef appetizer Nuer Sawan, and although calamari in general is a little ubiquitous, their preparation is great.
I like to get Pad Thai as a standard way to evaluate a thai restaurant cooking style since it is often over-cooked, or bland, or just not authentic. They do it perfectly. Also their Curry dishes are excellent, as is their Pad Si-ew. That's about as varied as I get there since those are all excellent that I usually get one of those. But all of the friends or dates that I've brought have loved other dishes that they've tried.

The food at Songkran Restaurant was disappointing. The calamari arrived cold and tasted as if it had been prepared well in advance, lacking flavor. The stir-fry chicken was unremarkable, with a texture that suggested it had been boiled rather than stir-fried. The drinks were also subpar; the espresso martini was watery and lacked the robust coffee flavor expected, requiring an added shot of Bailey’s to improve the taste. Overall, the experience did not justify the cost.

WE LOVE THIS PLACE! The food hear is top teir for sure! The vibe is nice, we love that they have outdoor dining too that is pet friendly. They have a great 1/2 off wine bottle special on Wednsday's that's great too! We highly recommend the Red Fish, the presentation is EXCELLENT. The cocunut green curry here is also grea.

The place looked great. The server took a while to bring us chili oil, and it didn't seem it was freshly made. The food was so so. There was nothing unbelievable to call mom about, but it was better than average. My pad kee mao was barely seasoned (ie. salt/spice level) - I'm guessing spice levels have been toned to everything being gentrified.

I've been here many times for takeout and lunch, friendly service, curry is really good as well as the vegetable spring rolls and the noodles; sit inside, the outdoor sitting area is unbearably hot. Parking on site.

Portions are tiny. They handled a situation with my table completely wrong in which I was charged for my servers mistake.

Nat was AMAZING! All of it was. The tofu?! Omg. To die for. Happy hour is super reasonable with FANTASTIC options!

I fed my boy and myself with “appetizers”! Crispy tofu (to die), spring rolls, veggie potstickers, 2 lychee martinis (uhmazing) and a Shirley temple: $30 y’all.

When we first moved to Houston, we went to 20+ Thai places trying to find a good one until we found Songkran. If we can't have Songkran, then we don't have Thai food. It's that good.

We came here to have lunch with my friends and this was my first time to try this "fancy" Thai restaurant. I ordered Heavenly Beef "Nuea Sawan" from their lunch menu. It served with vegetable soup, house salad and Jasmine rice. The soup was good and tasty. I liked the salad mainly because it has a delicious dressing. The entrée was nothing special. Nothing fancy at all. It was a sad plating to be honest. My friends had Wok Cashew Chicken which for me was nothing special too, and the other one was Clay Pot Red Curry Duck. The curry was good, very coconuty taste and I like that it has a lot of vegetables in it. For dessert we had White Chocolate Bread Pudding topped with Coffee Ice Cream which was good. The pudding came warm, we liked it. Lunch Menu foods can improve more and can be more appetizing, and they deserve nice plating as well.

Wonderful experience today with Alex as our server. Visited for a working lunch and this is a favourite location due to ease of booking, parking and the food is always consistently delicious. Lots of gf and veg options for everyone to enjoy. Thank you Alex for your service 🌈

I went with my mom today for mother’s day and we absolutely loved the food and service. Our waitress was Nisa and she was the absolute sweetest!!! Thank you Nisa for taking our photos and being so kind to us. We got drunken noodles with shrimp (spicy) and the pad thai with chicken (normal) and it was absolutely delicious!! Will be coming back more often 😁

Made a reservation for my daughter and myself and we showed up and she said to sit outside so we did and we sat outside for 15 minutes before I said enough is enough so we walked inside and I told the two girls that I wanted to sit somewhere inside because we had not been greeted for 15 minutes so we sat inside then it took another 10 to 15 minutes for us to get greeted inside. I ordered a drink and she ordered a drink. I saw probably about five people walk by that Martini sitting on the bar before I finally stopped one of the waitresses and said, “can you go pick up that martini that you just walked right by? “
Ordered our food. Things went fine from there and then we ordered some thing at the very end and it did not come out for the whole remainder of the meal
it was, however, on my bill. I asked for it to be removed and I was told it was on the bill because it was ordered later. I’ll be very honest and I have had appetizers and pad Thai noodles in between the order.
I was literally left out of everything and totally forgotten. So disappointed.

Came here with a friend and got yellow curry and pad Thai. The food was well seasoned, fresh, and very tasty. We also got drinks (can’t remember the names but mine had mango and passion fruit) and were impressed with the flavor of each. The food may have been slightly overpriced, but the atmosphere really makes the experience so I definitely recommend coming here.

Can’t say much about restaurant as I had it delivered, but the food wasn’t worth the price. Skip the heavenly beef, far from heavenly especially considering the price.

Songkran catered the food for a party of 50 we recently hosted and it was outstanding! The dishes all held up great in transport and the flavor was excellent! Everyone at the event commented on the quality and flavor of the food. The management and team were extremely helpful.

SongKran was fantastic top to bottom! Great service. Our food was out in no time. Really good selection of Sake. I’d recommend the Black and gold. The fried calamari, heavenly beef, and red snapper were all delicious. I tried a couple bites of other dishes and I didn’t try anything I disliked. I found each dish had a unique sauce to go with it that was really enjoyable. Highly recommend and I’ll be back!

Thoroughly impressed by both the exquisite food and impeccable service. We had a variety of innovative dishes blending bold flavors and beautiful presentation So delicious and savory!

Ordered the yellow curry (the only curry without fish sauce, appreciate the server letting me know this when I placed the order). Options were vegetables, tofu, or meat. I chose vegetables. It came with potatoes and tofu - not a single other vegetable in it, not even a piece of onion. First time I have had potatoes in a Thai curry. Would not go back again, doesn't look like a good place for vegetarians. My colleague chose the drunken noodles with beef and seemed to really enjoy it.

We had a fantastic first experience at Songkran. The photo was delicious- spicy and flavorful. The server was attentive without being intrusive. It was an excellent experience.

I ordered the Panang Curry with beef short ribs. I got my spice level 3 out of 4 and it was wonderful. The beef short ribs were cooked to perfection and were incredibly tender and went with the Panang Curry wonderfully. It was still lunch at this time and I sat at the bar, and it came with a vegetable soup and salad. The service was very friendly and quick. I am a long time (4 decades) fan of Thai cuisine, and I will happily comeback to this restaurant with family and friends and try other dishes.

On a $5 margarita Tuesday (nice deal) we enjoyed our Pla Tod (crispy whole red snapper) with its unique presentation, though ordering the sauce on the side (instead of how it's presented) keeps it from overwhelming the more delicate nature of the fish. Better still was Songkran's tasty Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles), its basil, hot chilies and soft, wide noodles perfectly melding into seconds-worthy Thai comfort food.
