Best Thai in town, hands down. Good for takeout, service feels like people hate being there. Grab and go.

Diner Review №2

I discovered this place because my friend eats gluten free. It’s healthy and delicious. I have been coming for years and they have gluten free desserts and awesome coffee drinks and tea.. The pad Thai is good. If you like Pandan sweet flavor. This is one of few places you can enjoy Pandan ice cream. My favorite is the coconut ash flavor. Today I had the dark chocolate sea salt tart. I asked them to warm it up a bit and it was perfect. It has a cozy modern eclectic feel inside. You can bring your laptop and work as well. Oh, I couldn’t help myself and had a bite of the tart before taking a pic.

Diner Review №3

Not much of a decor or any service to speak of, you order online. My pad Thai was bland, perhaps I should have specified spice level but didn't know I could.

Very good Thai food. Especially enjoy the extensive options in the gluten free bakery for gluten free desserts. Yum!

Diner Review №6

I haven't dined in in awhile but have enjoyed a couple take out meals this year. I enjoy it. I would agree it tastes like Thai and it tastes like Fresh. Most of the one star reviews are some of the most entitled, crazy sounding things I've ever heard.

We meet our adult kids occasionally for dinner in Austin and they get to choose a place since they live there. It has to be in south Austin though so we don't have to drive across Austin.
This restaurant was a great choice. The food was delicious and the drinks were also pretty good --especially the Tiger Punch.
I had stir-fry with chicken and rice and really liked it. My husband and daughter had drunken noodles and said they were really good. My son had a pork sandwich and raved that it was really tasty.
We would go back here in a minute. The service was also very good with the workers patiently answering a lot of questions since we had never been here before.
It's kind of small but it offers great food. I think they also had a military discount.

not your typical Thai Restaurant. I ordered the pad see uw with the locally made soy free tempeh. The chinese green veggies in it were delicious as were the wide noodles It was very mild but they have a variety of chiles and sauces you can add at your table. they also have a variety of coconut milk ice creams I chose the golden milk flavor and a cowboy 🤠 cookie

Diner Review №10

I’ve loved this place for a very long time, but unfortunately on my most recent visit I got sick from the food. The manager accepted my complaint, noted that it was likely I got norovirus (I did not), and then did nothing to remedy the situation.

Unfortunately my favorite Pad See Ew is now Pad See Ewwww… do not recommend.

Foods good but parking is such a hassle it really makes things harder

Diner Review №13

I live nearby and frequent Thai Fresh. I’ve tried various dishes, some desserts, coffee, and dined in along with takeaway. Based on my experience, I’d give it 4 stars.

The best dish here is the pulled pork sandwich. It (as described) is insanely good. The pineapple rice is also good. Each time I’ve been in, the service has always been kind and accommodating.

However, some dishes are letdowns. The chicken and rice is always dry, and the pad see ew is a bit too greasy. The starter options aren’t very appetizing either (specifically the mushrooms came out a bit soggy and hard to finish). The atmosphere inside also leaves a bit to be desired.

It isn’t the best Thai food you’ll find in the area, but not a bad option if you’re in the neighborhood.

I was pretty disappointed in the portion size for a take out meal. I got the Tom Kha bowl (not cup) and the amount of food was underwhelming. The prices are inflated and there is a 15% service fee automatically added. Customers deserve better if they’re paying these prices.

Diner Review №17

I love me some Thai Fresh!

As someone who’s obsessed with Thai food, Thai fresh is one of the go-to’s in Austin. Their food is fresh, they pay their staff a livable wage, and they’re allergen friendly!

I am allergic to soy, legumes, and dairy and I can always find an array of options on the menu. They are also willing to modify dishes to remove allergens and try their best to prevent cross contamination.

My favorite dishes that I’ve had here have been:
- Slow Cooked Pork Roast in Five Spices
- Green Curry Fried Rice
- Papaya salad
- Spicy Basil Fried Rice

Also, they have soy free vegan ice cream options that are the perfect end cap to a delicious meal!

One thing to know when visiting is that you order through the QR code that’s on the table. A server is assigned a section, but everyone helps each other out, so you can easily grab someone’s attention even if they’re not your specific server.

Overall, I have been coming here since they opened their doors in 2008 and I have never had a bad experience.

Diner Review №18

One of my favorite restaurants in all of Austin. So many options and everything is so good! The papaya salad, pineapple fried rice and fried chicken are a few favorites.

Diner Review №19

Diner Review №20

This place is overrated. Complacent staff. The worst keow wan I've ever had - no vegetables, weird taste. If Campbell's soup made green curry it would be like this. The som tum was a couple days old, far from fresh. The tom kha Gai was better than the others, albeit watery. This place is long on marketing, short on quality Thai food.

Diner Review №21

i ordered some basil fried rice. it was so sweet i couldn't eat it. you should be able to order it without the sugar.....i threw it all away because the sweetness was so overpowering. NO SUGAR!!

Diner Review №22

The food is 10 on 10. I ordered the Penang curry with pineapple rice. Very delicious. The service is a little laid back though.

Diner Review №24

Good neighborhood Thai restaurant. Years ago they added a built in fair wage policy to their menu. This policy built in 15% on food items to go to their workers which is reasonable/smart similar to what Bouldin Creek Cafe does.

They recently decided to add an extra 15% service fee to all orders and didn’t decrease their menu prices. Hopefully the staff are all getting paid well. Food is good, pricing is high.

Diner Review №28

Honestly one of the worst restaurants I have been to in Austin.

Hidden 15% charge for “fair wages” so of course service sucks. I feel like my Pad Kra Pao is what happens when a line of 15 chefs who don’t speak the same language play a game of telephone.

Absolutely nothing like the dish of the same name. Ended up being 90% a bowl of steamed green beans.

Will not return.

Diner Review №29

I've eaten here a couple of times over the past few months so I feel comfortable leaving a review.

Top level: The food here between brunch and the regular menu has a good number of hits and some misses. Desserts on the other side of the restaurant are also good across the board. I do think the value proposition here is not great but it's in line with their thinking on fair wages and no tipped wage workers (I think). You should also be aware that they started applying a 15% automatic fair wage surcharge to the check in December 2024.

Beer battered mushrooms and the rice balls are both excellent starters (both come with excellent sauces that make the dish). Green curry fried rice (which I ordered with pork belly) were also nice. From the brunch menu I ordered the waffle and breakfast fried rice, both of which were delicious for me. The basil lime fresca house drink is also really refreshing (although the taste does change from visit to visit which is odd). My friends and I have never missed with any dessert from the attached cafe.

Drunken noodles (ordered with Tofu that night) missed because for some reason it tasted only sweet which I found odd for this dish (no spicy, salty or umami notes). Spicy basil fried rice (ordered that night with pork belly) just did not taste like much it fell flat.

Finally the value proposition of the restaurant is not great. Do not expect large portion sizes (since they commit to local producers' products which I'm guessing are not cheap). Main dishes with meat run from $15-$20 (slightly less for no meat option), starters run from $6-8, and desserts run from $4-$9. Add on any drinks, add on tax, the fair wage surcharge, and sometimes tips and this place starts adding up quickly..

Diner Review №30

Fantastic food and very friendly service, well-informed staff able to handle food allergy questions. Highly recommend!

Diner Review №31

Really enjoyed the delicious food in a cozy atmosphere. A bit awkward sorting out how to order food and drinks but, we finally got it sorted out. And the summary is that we had a great evening!

Diner Review №32

I’ve been a Thai Fresh customer for several years, but I don’t know that I will return after my experience tonight. I placed an order at 7:29pm. I went to check on it around 8. The line was so long that it took until 8:22 for them to tell me they lost our order in their system but that they could have it ready around 8:50 or they could refund me.

Waiting almost an hour and a half for food is insane. And they didn’t do anything to make it right. They wouldn’t expedite it, didn’t offer a free dessert or drink or anything. It made me feel like they don’t value my time. Very disappointing from a restaurant I liked.

If you’re in the area, Pan 888 has much better customer service and is significantly cheaper for the portion served. I’ll also be trying Super Thai on South Lamar.

Diner Review №33

Extaordinary flavors and no tipping. Not fancy or expensive. My kind of Thai.

Diner Review №34

Overpriced mediocre Thai food. One of the only menus I’ve seen with Khao Man Gai, which was the best thing I had. The som tum and glass noodles “salad” were sub par

Diner Review №40

Diner Review №41

Everything here is delicious! The desserts are great. Food is amazing. And there are so many vegan and allergy friendly options!

Diner Review №42

It was awful. My friend and I both ordered one main dish. She ordered jungle noodles and it was too spicy, I ordered glass noodles and it was too sour. We each paid more than 20 dollars for our single dish. The restaurant was dark and there were barely any service. It took them 20mins to serve our food. In general, terrible experience. There are a lot of Thai restaurants in Austin that my friend and I checked out, this is pretty much the worst so far.

Diner Review №43

Ordered pineapple fried rice with pork belly. Never in my life have I been at a restaurant, ordered pork belly, and what I got was fifteen sliced chunks of only fat. Zero meat. This is not an exaggeration.

Pork belly - I find it hilarious to explain - is a combination of muscle meat and fat, like bacon. Our meal had only fat. I asked the waitress or manager if this looked normal to her, and in her honestly she noted she didn’t eat pork so had no clue what it should look like.

They were kind enough to bring us a side of pork belly that was actual pork belly, with meat, but it was a smaller portion than we would have received in the meal. Quite ridiculous.

All the fat on the left of the attached image is what came with the dish. The right is what they gave us after complaining. I honestly thought we were being trolled.

Diner Review №44

We loved the food at this restaurant. They have a very unique approach to ordering. You order from your table and pay online. Then food is brought out. We had 3 main dishes, soup and salad.
Everything was delicious. We usually can tell the quality of restaurant by their Tom Kha soup. This one was delicious. All dishes were fantastic. Our favorite was Jungle Curry.
Highly recommended

Diner Review №48

Diner Review №49

Food was good. Not mind blowing compared to other places in town, but still solid.

I come here because this place won the Austin Chronicle award. Immensely disappointed at the service (or lack thereof). The server looks like a high school kid and he didn’t even bother visiting my table to take our order, and we were the only table on the side of the restaurant. Had to order online after waiting like 30 minutes.

Thai fresh, you can do better with your waiter. Hiring people who come to take order is a low bar to clear.

Diner Review №50

Was there good service? What service? The tall skinny white young man had an attitude pacing back and forth, looking at his phone, and completely ignored everybody after serving their food. He never took our order. The food was at best ok. I got the papaya salad and it was one of the worst I’ve had. It’s hard to do wrong so it still tasted nice, but it’s still one of the worst I’ve had. The chicken added on lacked any flavor whatsoever

Diner Review №51

Food is quite bad. Nothing seemed authentic. Neither the food nor the ambience.

Who makes green curry fried rice loaded with sugar, obviously this place

Their ‘golden tofu’ was dark brown. When asked, they said that it was busy and they deep fried it.
Poor experience for us.

More over they have a weird self service system and they suggest tips. Our order was close to 90$$

Diner Review №52

Food quality is below average. If you want authentic Thai food then this is Not the place. Quantity is on low side. We ordered Thai curries. It was very sweet. The self service is painful including get your own water, sauces etc.

Diner Review №53

Love going here! The fact that they can sub avocado oil is so great and I don’t feel gross after eating something oily like most other Thai places. Great healthy desserts too!

Diner Review №57

Service is really strange you have to get up go into the other part of the restaurant to order.
The food was not good either I had the fried chicken and waffles. The waffle was the only good thing about it. The chicken was dry and it was mostly bone. Not very much chicken on it

The BEST THAI in Austin!

Diner Review №62

Probably the best Thai food in town, while also being the most inconsistent regarding quality, portion size, and service. Even with that in mind, we keep coming back.

Diner Review №63

Diner Review №64

Enjoyed our first trip to Thai Fresh. We were craving fried chicken (one of us is GF) and it did not disappoint! Started with the sticky rice balls and had the cucumber salad with the chicken. Everything was very flavorful. Look forward to trying other things next time. And no consequences from the fried chicken.

Diner Review №65

Diner Review №66

Probably the worst tasting Thai food I have ever had. Tofu was hard and tasteless. Noodles were dry and hard and soaked in oil. It’s not just that the ingredients were subpar - even the assembly or cooling - and presentation were bad. And the items are pricier than average there so really unhappy with the place. We ordered three items, only once was decent.

WHY IS IT SO HOT IN HERE?

Diner Review №71

So, Sunday at 2 pm and they are “out of fried chicken”……maybe go to grocery store down the street and buy some chicken and cook it?…nope, second time….How does ANY restaurant run out of chicken…..on a weekend….in the south…with it available near by at grocery store…this is normal I guess for this “place” since it happens regularly..(twice for me)
Shame on us for wanting a better experience…….shame ….shame

Great Thai restaurant nestled in a neighborhood. Delicious options, huge portions, and quick service. Really like the order and pay for tab on the phone. The atmosphere is really cozy and it feels like someone’s home.

Diner Review №73

First time to Thai Fresh. I went there based on a recommendation from my friend, and It wasn't what I expected.

The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the customer service was great, but the Pad Thai wasn't what I expected.

So I got the Pad Thai with Shrimp and added chicken as an extra item, and I also got the coconut soup.

The coconut soup was very delicious, and I highly recommend it 😋

As for the Pad Thai, there was Zero spice in it, and the amount of shrimp and chicken was very little.

Both dishes were hot and fresh, but I was a bit disappointed with the Pad Thai.

I've been to many Thai restaurants before, but this one was not like the others. If you like your Pad Thai spicy hot, make sure if you go there to tell them that. I'll make sure to tell the next Thai restaurant I go to to make my Pad Thai Spicy 😉 😋 😜 😀 🌶🌶🌶🌶

I eat here twice a week and tell everyone I know how good it is. I recently had surgery on my jaw and asked if they could throw the soup in the blender for a second because I couldn't chew the chicken. I've done this twice before and the manager had no problem. Today I went in August 12 8pm and asked for the same thing but the manager said that it was impossible then when I said they had done it the last two times she said that they couldn't do it because the kitchen manager wasn't here. It literally takes 30 seconds. I've worked in kitchens for years and if a regular comes in that just had surgery makes a small request it would be so rude to turn it down. If they were busy I wouldn't mind at all but they were not busy the kitchen is open and I could see cooks leaning against the counter just talking. It's not a big deal but it kind of is because I literally sing this places praises to everyone that asks about thai food in austin and I almost always write in a custom tip of like 40% instead of clicking the automatic 20% tip button then when I go to the pastry counter I tip there as well. I just feel really let down. There's so few places I can eat since my surgery and I was looking forward to this meal all day just for the manager to tell me it's impossible when I know it isn't.

Diner Review №77

Our favorite restaurant in Austin. Their coconut soup, green curry, papaya salad and pad see ew, are incredible, nourishing and made with fresh quality ingredients. The desserts here are delicious too, freshly baked and the coconut ice cream is perfectly amazing. Be sure to try it there and also at Gati - their coconut ice cream shop on the East side! (I think their online ordering menu is one of the fastest, most seamless and customizable online ordering I have ever used in Austin.)

Diner Review №78

Thai Fresh has been my favorite restaurant for about 8 years, and I've had many birthday dinners there. Covid created a lot of challenges for restaurants, but unfortunately this is one that never bounced back. While the food has continued to increase in price, the quality has only decreased. Even though you do nearly everything yourself - from ordering to getting your own water to getting your togo boxes - a lot of the staff have really become terrible. The bad interactions range from not seeing any staff members at all to outright rude and combative treatment from them. Thai Fresh at its best was a 10/10 - but it hasn't been at its best for a long time. I once recommended it to everyone, but I don't think I will be back after today 💔

Diner Review №79

10/10 would recommend. Take out champions

Diner Review №80

I would like to ask the manager how they feel if their Saturday lunch is served on a broken dish like this one that your employees used for my meal.
Disappointed.

Diner Review №81

Pedestrian at best. Clearly playing the “only Thai place in the area” card. Food is “fine”. But the service isn’t anywhere close to that. AND they add a cute little “takeout service fee” after you tip whatever is going on behind the counter.

If you’re from an actual city- not for you. Suppose austin people keep them going out of ignorance.

Diner Review №82

My family & I absolutely love Thai food, but regretfully, this place was the most disappointing in both food & service. My son ordered Basil Chicken & Green beans, which was 99% green beans and 3 pieces of chicken. Husband had Spicy Thai Fried rice with Shrimp - not spicy & only 4 shrimps. I ordered Panang Curry with Tofu - let's just say I've had way better. Service was basically non-existent. Do yourself a favor and save money, stay away from this place. I am not one to leave reviews, but this place definitely needs it.

Diner Review №83

Super quick to bring out food, excellent taste. Green basil fried rice was seriously impressive, as was the pandan and thai basil ice cream. One of the best spots in Austin for sure.

Really solid OG Austin Thai spot that’s usually void of all tourists. Clean Thai eats that isn’t greasy but tastes exceptional. Also, staff are incredibly friendly and you get a solid good vibes feeling in a world that evermore hostile and chaotic. Diner Review №92

Papaya salad was authentic tasting. Pad krapow and all other dishes were quite bland. I appreciate/love clean ingredients - but it doesn't have to be bland. Also pretty annoying you have to order through the website when you've come to dine in. So you can't ask questions about the ingredients or menu, you have to walk around the place to find someone to talk to. You're expected to tip - but the only thing they did was drop the food on the table. I might as well have door dashed it and tip the drive.

Diner Review №93

Incredible Thai food!

Diner Review №94

I discovered this Thai jewel while visiting the nearby public library. The librarians actually clued me in to this delightful eatery, and I am so grateful!

Breakfast or lunch, I found both to be superb, with some new items found to cater to my ever-curious palate, as well as my standard Thai comfort foods.

This venue is tucked into the quiet neighborhood between busy South 1st Street and the Twin Oaks Austin Public Library branch, and completely worthy of being a destination on its own.

And should you be a busy parent dropping off or picking up your child at the nearby elementary school, with mere minutes to spare for yourself, imbibe yourself, allowing the staff to parent you, catering to that loud growl coming from your tummy.

Amazing what a few stolen moments can do for the soul when in such a great dining experience and in the care of professional staff who are eager to please with their level of service, kindness, and knowledge!

Diner Review №95

Thai is one of my favorites 😍

Diner Review №96

For the price of the veggie rice bowl with added chicken… very disappointing amount of protein for the price point. This is not a one off. I could count on one hand the amount of penny sized chicken pieces I got 2 times in a row. Quality is good but we can do better on volume of chicken!

Diner Review №97

"change of pace" "out of the ordinary" & " off the beaten path" and well worth the effort....pleasant experience on a Saturday afternoon...meal prepared with " attention to detail" topped off with excellent choices of ice cream...

Diner Review №98

I usually like this place, the prices are a little higher than you would expect but they say that they try to get their staff a fair wage so I’m fine with that. But I have to say that it’s kind of deceptive when you order the street food platter and the picture has three wings and they only give you two.

The food was greasy. The restaurant smells like fish. The waitress was polite, very nice. The cooks needs to follow sanitation needs better, no hairnets and no gloves.

Last, I hate the fact that I have to use a QR code to order. But that's just me.

Diner Review №102

Diner Review №108

I ended up here based on a recommendation from a friend, did not disappoint.
I ended up ordering something away from my comfort zone, I’d usually go for a pad Thai or pad see ew, but I went ahead and ordered the red curry and the coconut soup. Very delicious, good portion. The soup I was not such a big fan of, wouldn’t get it again. Will definitely be back to try my favorites at this spot.
I definitely love the counter service they’ve got going on, there’s a self-serving station so you can help yourself to sauces and waters. You can either go ahead and order at the counter, or take a seat at one of the tables and order from the sticker they have on the tabletop. Your food will just magically appear after ordering, which is amazing. Very good spot for studying, I would definitely come in and do remote work here, it’s got coffee shop vibes.

Diner Review №109

Hands down the best Thai food in Austin! We’ve been going here for years now and it just continues to get better and better. Super fresh and high quality ingredients. The pork belly Pad Thai is phenomenal. Great desserts, too.

Diner Review №113

Chicken was dry, so was the pork. Quite expensive for what we got. Nobody in our group thought the food was very good. Staff was kinda snotty. The A/C was blasting on my back the whole time and it was cold. Coconut ice cream was good tho.

They prefer you order via phone, but the phone-based menu was really hard to navigate--- we had a party of 5 and it took 10 painful minutes to order. That style of menu might work for a bar where individuals all order separately, but not for a brunch/lunch place.

Diner Review №114

Diner Review №115

My bf and I both got noodles and they were not terrible but still pretty mid. All my noodles clumped together into a blob immediately, as well. We also got four pastries to take home. The peanut butter rice crispy was ok but the oatmeal cream pie was hard like a rock and I was unable to bit into it. The coffee cake was also ok but the cheesecake literally tasted like soured milk and I had to spit it out. It’s a bummer because it’s really hard to find gf desserts around town (for convenience sake) but I can confidently say I make better gf dessert than this place could dream of. Won’t be coming back!

Diner Review №116

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible Thai restaurant, and I must say, it's one of the best I've ever experienced. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by their dedication to catering to gluten-free diners. The menu not only specifies which items contain wheat.
The culinary delights didn't stop there; the restaurant's bakery boasts a completely gluten-free selection, allowing for worry-free indulgence in their delectable treats. The level of accommodation provided by the staff was exemplary; despite the modern convenience of ordering and paying through a QR code on your phone, they remained attentive and eager to ensure a memorable dining experience.
But it's not just the food that makes this place shine; their café offerings, including drinks and coffee, provide the perfect complement to any meal or snack. Needless to say, we were thoroughly impressed and already planning our next visit. If only we had discovered this gem sooner! Whether you have dietary restrictions or simply appreciate exceptional Thai cuisine, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit.

Diner Review №117

This is the best Thai I’ve ever had. The beef was delicious, tofu cooked to perfection, Thai tea was sooooo good!!!!!

Their soups, Pad Sea Ew, and Panang curry were outstanding.

Diner Review №126

Diner Review №127

Once an excellent dining experience, it's faltered some in the post-pandemic economy. Like many, they are forcing us to use QR codes instead of paper menus. It may streamline the business, but the menu is hard to navigate, and it eliminates any accountability for mistakes made by servers when they drop off the food and then run away. I had my birthday dinner there, and it took THREE times to order a hot pot of tea. (One counter server denied even having hot tea.) Anywho, I love their food, but the server side of the business is MESSY.

Diner Review №128

The pad sea ew was amazing! I’ve never had that dish before. The pad Thai was pretty good and the pineapple fried rice was okay. They also have 12 different (dairy-free) coconut ice creams to choose from

Diner Review №129

Best Thai food we’ve had in central TX! Incredible Phad Thai, tons of customization options and gluten free dishes. It’s also connected to a fully gluten free bakery with plenty of delicious pastries, cookies, cake, brownies, bars. They also offer coffee & ice cream in the bakery.

The food has been pretty good so far. The drunken noodles don't do takeout well. The pork sandwich is kind of I bid piece to bite Into. Last time I went I got the runs though lol. But I definitely like that they print on the receipt that they pay their employees enough so you don't have to tip. Because when I just get takeout I don't like tipping for....nothing haha. Glad they pay more than average. I like healthier ingredients so I come here

Delicious pad see ew, Tom kha, & Thai iced tea! Also recommend the ice cream 🍨

Diner Review №136

A rare Thai joint that makes delicious Pad Thai that honors the sanctity and integrity of the dish. That alone is worth the visit.

Diner Review №137

One of the best thai spots in austin. And has the consistently highest health inspection scores

Diner Review №138

Goated food and very kind staff

Highly recommend. The food was amazing. I had the pineapple fried rice with some fried tofu and it was all wonderful.
Staff were very friendly.

Diner Review №141

Meant the friends for lunch and wet all loved our food. You order at the counter or by QR code and there's not a ton of ambience but it's a clean space and the food is great.

LOVE THIS PLACE! We've been eating here for YEARS!

The food is consistently delicious & staff are friendly!

Their Pad Thai has SET THE BAR for other restaurants we try. No one has exceeded them & only a couple

I love that there is NO TIPPING. They pay a living wage & it's already in the prices. I assume I'm "tipping" what I normally would in a full service restaurant, though I've never asked.

My only disappointment is a new change... There are no waiters who come to your table anymore. You order thru a QR code on the table, or you go to counter. Waitstaff brings your order to your table.

I do miss that personal touch. But the Pad Thai gets me back again & again

Diner Review №145

This place is absolutely ripping! I’ve been to Thailand many times and this is about as good as it gets in the states. Clean, reasonably priced for what you get, and they have a huge selection of deserts. The system they use for putting in your order ( scan QR code and order and pay from phone) is really streamlined and pleasant. The Tom kha soup is next level. 10 out of 10! Even at peak busy times the food comes to your table very quickly

One of the best Thai food in austin, if not the best! I ordered beef Pad Thai with grilled egg, and it was so delicious! The service is amazing. Definitely will visit again soon.

Diner Review №151

Chicken pad thai >>>>>> just get it

Diner Review №152

I couldn't quite remember what the deal was with tipping so I asked the cashier about it when I place my order at the counter. She said technically, yes, tipping was included but that had been calculated years ago and was really no longer enough to cover a living wage for staff.... so I tipped 20 percent. Then the only service I received was that the food was brought to my table. No attention whatsoever. Our empty water carafe not replaced, and when I asked for a take home box I was brusquely pointed to a do-it-yourself station. Staff all treated us as if we were imposing upon them.
Our food was just ok. I'm sad Jam's place has come to this.

Diner Review №153

Very cold atmosphere - the front desk didnt care atall!!
Wrong orders. Missing ingredients in dish .. was told "ran out" but no substitution made but charged.

Diner Review №154

love this place! after trying a lot of different thai restaurants, thai fresh is by far my favorite. all of the ingredients taste very fresh and the staff is friendly. being able to sub for avocado oil and have a gluten free desert or clean ice cream after dinner is huge plus!

Diner Review №155

Place is definitely run-down & food isn’t worth the visit. Regret spending time & money here.

Diner Review №156

Lackadaisical service. Filthy tables. Only grudgingly did worker clean the table. When I thanked her, she didn't respond or even look up. Food was fine. Ate outside by parking lot on a nice day. One doesn't go to Thai Fresh for atmosphere.

Diner Review №157

Weirdly bland. Lots of oil so I won't exactly say it tasted healthy either.

Diner Review №158

$20 and one single piece of chicken

Diner Review №159

Rice balls had great crunch and just enough flavor! Loved the dipping sauce with came with. We also had the coconut shrimp fritters. Delicious! Beware the dipping sauce it comes with, it’s pretty spicy! But we loved it.

I had the green curry fried rice. I added chicken and a scrambled egg to it. It was definitely a good choice and not too much spice.

We also tried the spicy basil fried rice and added the pork belly. The pork belly was perfectly crunchy on the outside and nice and juicy on the inside. We would have liked it to be a bit more spicy.

I’m not sure how I feel about the “order online” structure they have. We needed water, silverware, napkins and even just to tell someone about our food would have been nice. For all of those things, we had to get up and tell someone which takes away from our dine in experience.

Terrible service and attention when it comes to the order time . Online it said my order would be ready at 6:35 . An hour later and my order still wasn’t out . Go elsewhere !

Diner Review №166

This place has my heart. There are tons of options if you have any food limitations or allergies! Always super tasty! The Curries and Pad See Ew are my favourites!

Diner Review №167

We LOVED our lunch at Thai Fresh! I cannot eat gluten, so it's always hard to find a place you can eat and trust! I LOVED that I could customize my plates. If I wanted to use only avocado oil in my dish, done. If I wanted to add broccoli or shrimp to my plate, done. We loved the pad thai, curry, and basil fried rice. And, another bonus: EXCELLENT gluten free desserts! It's almost impossible to find amazing gluten free desserts. We had ice cream and then took home the delicious coffee cake and a salted dark chocolate tarte. We will for sure be back! We LOVE Gati too! BIG FANS!

Diner Review №168

Soup wasn’t great. Noodles were ok. Left hungry. Good thing I have food at the house. It came recommended but many others to choose besides this Thai place. I never post these reviews but wanted others to avoid unless this place is the only one to give a reservation. They cut all corners in the kitchen.

Diner Review №170

The food was indeed fresh and the flavors were good. Could have used a bit of salt and heat, but generally tasty. Great variety, too.

The atmosphere is cozy and what you’d hope for in a neighborhood cafe in South Austin. They even have outdoor seating, but we elected to sit indoors near a window instead.

The service, however, leaves a lot to be desired. The hostess/food runner would clearly prefer no customers. They refused to make eye contact and would turn away from you as you are talking. The gentleman behind the counter made up for it, although he forgot to send in one of my dishes. No “welcome” or “thanks” or any acknowledgement as you leave, either.

Overall, it’s a cute place that I can see returning to. I just won’t be bringing anyone with me I’d want to impress.

Diner Review №171

Not the same food quality. Horrible curries. Much too salty.

Diner Review №175

It was great 👍

Diner Review №176

The food was good but salty (panang); they fry the tofu in with other meats, which makes it difficult to eat there if you are vegetarian/vegan

Diner Review №177

I want to like this place but I always leave disappointed. The ambience is nice but the food is overpriced and mediocre at best. Curries are soupy with little to no veggies added into them.

With online / QR code ordering there’s no communication of their fair wage policy, which seems disingenuous. Down the road at Bouldin they are up front and communicative about it.

Ice cream is great though so worth stopping by for dessert

Diner Review №178

The food was amazing❤️

Diner Review №179

One of my fave spots! I used to go more when I lived in the neighborhood, then stopped when I moved. But, went back a couple months ago to try out their dessert bar, and now I'm a regular customer all over again 😆🧁 I have several favorite menu items, and my girlfriend loves Thai Fresh since they can cater to her oil/nut allergies with no issues. Good stuff!

Diner Review №180

I got the Pad Kra Prow, which I get almost everywhere I go and while the food was edible, I felt like i ordered green beans rice and shrimps. I couldn't taste the Thai Basil and frankly didnt seem like Thai food. No juice at all to eat with the rice which was served in the same container with no divider. Yes, it was a to go order. At least the soup was good. I would have been surprised if they mess that up too. It was the Tom Kha. The place seems to be cool to hang but man i had and still have hope for this place.

Diner Review №181

My favorite place ever, support this biz!

Diner Review №182

Not worth the money.

Diner Review №183

Good food and ambience. The only jarring thing is, for over-the-counter grocery service, they ask for tips!

Diner Review №184

Food was actually decent.
As a first timer, we weren't impressed with the whole lack of table service and ordering process so our experience didn't meet our expectations. Next time maybe we'll just pick up and take home.

Diner Review №185

Cool concept. Food comes from the kitchen at random. Expect to just order from your phone.

Diner Review №186

Best Thai food in Austin! Pad Thai is so good!

Diner Review №187

Diner Review №188

chicken sandwich was legit, pad thai was very good, desserts were kind of stale and flavorless. the fries were awful and soggy. fairly expensive but fair wage and that’s important to me. overall worth trying for the pad thai and chicken sandwich for sure. if i could, i’d give it 3.5.

Diner Review №189

We did not have a chance to dine-in, however, we did place an order to go and we were impressed with the food. We ordered the vegetarian rolls, chicken pad thai, chicken pad sea ew with a side of pickled serranos, thai iced tea and basil lime fresca. The food was really good and fresh.
We will definitely be going back.

Diner Review №199

This place has been on my must try list for a long time but since I live in Pflugerville, it never happened before today. After a company volunteering event at the Food Bank, a coworker and I decided to give it a whirl. It was meant to be when we BOTH scored a parking spot out front! Ordering and paying was easy thru a QR scan code linking to Toast Tab.

The fried mushrooms 🍄 are amazing and a delight!! Light and crispy but not greasy at all. It was a thin batter with just the right amount of crunch and stayed crunchy for well after 20 minutes. The dipping sauce was fantastic as well and a mystery. It was homemade for sure and complemented the shrooms without overpowering them. My friend ordered the spicy bean thread noodles and I ordered pad gra pow and a cup of tom kha chicken soup. I forgot to take a pic of my main dish and it was delish. The soup cup was chock full of flavor and ingredients swimming in that divine coconut milk broth. I appreciated the kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass that were left in the broth. I loved that everything could be customized to your liking, not just picking a protein or veggie/vegan option but even to add or delete garnishes or extra vegetables or proteins too. Lastly we didn't have any room for dessert but the iced chai tea was delicious as well. Definitely recommend trying this place out! If I lived close by, I'd be a regular on a first name basis for sure! 😆
