Amazing food

Diner Review №2

Krua Thai is definitely one of my favorite places ever! The food is perfect and I make sure to tell all of my friends about this place. I usually get the panang curry or the pad thai but there are so many good options and everyone there is wonderful. I can’t wait to stop by again!

Diner Review №3

I called in an order for chicken chow main, green chicken curry and parang curry all at level 4 thai hot and myself and 2 others split it. We all loved it all and my son begs for a side of plain noodles from here so that's what he ate and total was around 43 dollars. Great people, great food, great deal.

Diner Review №5

Honestly, it is one of the most authentic Thai restaurants I've ever been to. 10 out of 10 would come back, actually. I'll be back tomorrow.

Diner Review №6

The pad Thai is absolutely awful. I couldn't taste any tamarind, palm sugar or fish sauce, just dry bland noodles.

Diner Review №7

Any of the noodles with tofu are incredible!! The portion size is perfect for a healthy diet. I see lots of people complain about this because most Americans are gluttonous and prefer giant over sized portions. Lol! Order two portions if you want to feel like you are stuffed. The restaurant is tiny but it feel like a truly Thai place as I see on YouTube. Owner is lovely and so are her employees.

Diner Review №8

Got something very strange in my foods. Togo with tendency of no having silverware or napkin. Lunch special is till 3 PM following THEIR menu!

Diner Review №9

Any time we're in abilene we stop here. The panang chicken curry is the absolute best I have had anywhere. Its a small shop, so first come first served. The service is always prompt and polite. Be patient and kind. Love this place, wish I could find it everywhere!

Diner Review №10

Diner Review №11

Diner Review №12

Unless there's no other Thai place in Abilene I do not recommend it. I ordered Panang Curry and it was not like Panang Curry I've had anywhere else and the reason is because they went real cheap on the coconut milk. With tea it cost $14. Not worth $4

Diner Review №13

Diner Review №14

Great staff and food, live this place.

Diner Review №15

I really wanted to love this place, but the lack of flavor and minimal meat in two different dishes (red curry chicken and red curry beef) was pretty dismal. I've heard so many great things and I know this place has many dedicated patrons, but it's very unlikely we'd eat here again. The spring rolls were great though!

Diner Review №16

Diner Review №17

If you're looking for authentic Thai food, this is the place to be!

Diner Review №18

This Thai restaurant is fantastic. The **green and red curries** were incredibly flavorful and perfectly spiced. The Thai host and owner was so friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. Highly recommend for authentic Thai food and great hospitality!

Diner Review №21

Very good food and great people

Diner Review №22

This place is everything you would ever want in a family owned and operated establishment. You can't come here in a rush. If you like Thai food, it is definitely worth trying & the wait.

Diner Review №23

I really enjoyed the NO DRAMA atmosphere. The food was superb and served with dignity and piping hot! Thus is my NEW THAI dining experience grading scale. Did I say yum!?

Diner Review №24

Diner Review №25

Krua Thai has the absolute best food in Abilene and the best Thai food in Texas! I’ve eaten at several different Thai restaurants in the bigger TX cities and Krua Thai has been the best hands down. I also want to add that Lak, one of the owners, is among the most personable humans I’ve had the pleasure of meeting!

Diner Review №26

Diner Review №27

Diner Review №28

Ate here while staying in Abilene. Penang curry was awesome - probably the best I’ve had and we travel a lot. Perfect level of spice - Highly recommend!

Diner Review №29

I had the red curry with pork. I got the spice level of 4. I like spice, so I thought it was great. Food was very good. I would highly recommend.

Diner Review №30

Excellent Thai restaurant. Excellent Pad Thai, Pork Red Curry, and Beef Panang Curry. So glad we stopped in. We love spicy food so the 4 spice level for the curries was delicious since it is coconut milk based.

Diner Review №31

I was very excited to try this place. My husband and I ordered 2 chicken Pad Thai to go.
I don't know if I we got someone else order or what but we took one bite and threw it away.
The noodles was extremely dry and the chicken was under cooked. If you want Pad Thai I would not recommend going here

Diner Review №32

Update: still amazing. Food is great and the staff family are such lovely people!

Tiny place. Worth the wait. The staff is attentive and sweet! Food is consistently delicious. Love this place.

Diner Review №33

7 star thai food in little Abilene, I had the Basil soup & rice. Portion was good, food was awesome and after taste was delightful. My wife had the curry soup & rice and it taste awesome too.

Diner Review №34

Krua Thai is one of the best family ran Thai restaurants that I've ever been to and I have been to 10+. I've been to some in San Antonio and I have to say this even rivals them. If you've never had Krua Thai, stop by this place and you will not be disappointed. Their Massaman Curry is a must try. They have vegan options available as well. Chicken shrimp beef or pork or veggie or tofu. They can make a decent Curry but they also have other traditional Thai dishes. If you've never had Curry before this is a good place to try it 🙂 I thoroughly enjoyed my meal including the Thai Tea. This place is first come first serve. You can order takeout, or you can dine in if you have a small party under 8 and they have the space. One chef one wok, no drama, good food, decent price, will definitely return and spread this gem of a Thai restaurant. Clean facility, although it looks small from the outside, it's nice inside.

Diner Review №35

The owner is the nicest lady. Went here on a work trip and was surprised to find such amazing Tai food in the middle of Abilene Tx. The panang was perfect, would absolutely love to go back!

Diner Review №36

The food was awesome. The woman who was taking the orders was so sweet What a nice place !!! it’s small but so worth it. You’re definitely need to give this place a shot the Thai Tea is excellent.

Diner Review №37

Always fresh and delicious a true hidden gem 💎

Diner Review №38

Food was amazing and the owner Tida is so funny and friendly. It’s clear there were a lot of return customers who knew her and joked around with her. We were just stopping through on our way back to Lubbock but we’ll definitely be back. We got Panang curry and masaman curry.

Diner Review №39

Food quality outweighs any negative it might have.

Diner Review №40

It’s so. Good!!!
My husband and I moved across the street and it’s dangerous for us… we are regulars now!

I spend 2 summers in Thailand and it’s truly authentic Thai food at Krua. Thai food is my favorite, but this place does it the best! Always fresh and always delicious!

A little pricey when you go every week, but so worth it!

Diner Review №44

Delicious as usual

Diner Review №45

Food is great but pre covid their portions were fantastic. Post covid their portions are barely enough to fill anyone. I order curry chicken, came with a lot of rice but barely any curry chicken. Food is still great but the portions are so small it's not worth the prices. $13 for less than enough to satisfy myself. Better off looking up recipes to try and make it yourself

Diner Review №49

Small, hole in the wall restaurant. Totally worth it. Would definitely go back.

Diner Review №50

It's a very small business but OMG, so good. The restaurant is small, only 6 tables, and they don't have a lot of workers but their food is GREAT. I'm kinda surprised. It's spicy only if you want and they have levels of spiciness which is great. I'll definitely come back again.

Diner Review №51

So delicious! I've never ordered something from here that I didn't love!

Diner Review №52

Diner Review №53

Small place with limited seating, but friendly staff that’s quick to clean tables and move in new diners while handling takeout quickly as well. The Pad See Ew with tofu and spice level 2 was delicious and beverages were served in nice big cups. My dining companions were vegetarian and one had a gluten allergy, but there were still multiple menu options that they could have and they enjoyed their curry and Pad Thai as well. This place is definitely a hidden gem worth the visit if you’re passing through the area.

Diner Review №54

Very interesting very authentic.

Diner Review №56

Diner Review №57

First thing I like to mention is , I love Thai food. My favorite dish is pineapple fried rice, this place doesn’t serve it. I have never gone into a Thai restaurant where they don’t serve that dish. Anyways I chose something else. The food was delicious, but the reason I can’t give this place a great review is because of the atmosphere. The first thing you notice when you walk in is a whiteboard with handwritten notes stating all their rules. The elderly lady picked where my friend and I should sit. She picked a table near a heater, I can’t do the heat. So I told my friend we should sit at another table, but it had seating for 4 and it was just the two of us. The lady made us move to a table with 2 chairs. She wanted me to sit next to that heater and I said that I could not do heat. She commented that what was I doing in Texas then? So rude.
The place looks like it’s falling apart. The chairs are ripped, the ceiling tiles look like they are very close to falling off. They brought water to my friend in a plastic cup that had the designs so faded she thought there was something floating inside the water.

Diner Review №58

Very good food and good fast service. However very small dining area, so suggest calling in first or ordering take out. Loved the chicken curry and beef chow mein.

Diner Review №59

What the little restaurant lacks in ambience it certainly makes up for it with the food. Generous helpings with lots of flavor. Don’t overdo on the spicy, we went with a “2” and it was plenty hot.
We recommend it for to go.

Diner Review №60

Delicious food! Pad Thai, panang chicken, yum!
Local, delicious, great prices and family owned…. my fave!

Diner Review №61

Diner Review №62

First time at this restaurant. The staff was friendly, especially the older gentleman. The food was fantastic. It really has a "mom & pop" feel that we loved.

Diner Review №63

This place is amazing! I was there an hour and it seemed like 100 people trying to get food.

Diner Review №64

Very small restaurant with good food.

Diner Review №65

It’s an unexpected hole in the wall gem! The staff and ownership are amazingly friendly and upfront. What you see is what you get! The food is on a whole other level. Amazing flavors and generous portions. Watch your spice level. You will not get a refund if you make it to spicy. Thai spice is on a different level! My favorite is the DUI Noodles with Chicken. Insanely delicious! I’ve not been disappointed by any of the meals. Everything comes out hot and fresh! You may have to wait but the wait is well worth it!

Diner Review №66

Diner Review №67

Perfect

Diner Review №68

Holy moly, this is the worst Thai food I’ve ever had in my life. I thought that it was a treasure in a dump, the interior is disgusting, and looks like it hasn’t been updated in 35 years. But the food is just as bad as the interior. And the service was poor at best.

I ordered a pad Thai, Thai hot, and it came out without spice and or flavor.

I also ordered a Penang curry. It also came out, quite bland, a very small portion for the price and I really hope I don’t get sick from the shrimp that I had them add lol.

All in all, I do not recommend this place I avoided it at all cost .

Diner Review №69

If you want to dine in just be prepared for a less than welcoming atmosphere and very cramped space. The food is good and the staff is nice enough. We ordered carry out and it was pretty good. I don't think I'll crave it but it was good.

Diner Review №70

Great little Thai place. The Thai lady that runs this seems hurried in a little grumpy at first. She told us the wait was 20 minutes (it was much less) , handed us menus and told us to know what we ordered by the time she sat us down. Once you are there for a few minutes, you realize she's actually very friendly and jokes around a lot with the customers. The food was very good and it was obvious that a lot of people in there were regulars. Panang shrimp was excellent and my wife's beef and broccoli was good as well .
Highly recommend this place.

Diner Review №71

Ordered & was told 45 minute wait. After driving in the car all day was very frustrated to have to continue to wait an additional 30 minutes. There was no apology or accountability. Instead we were met with rudeness. Definitely was not a positive experience as we had hoped.

Diner Review №72

Would never return. Lied to us multiple times and wasted our time. On top of that, messed the order up after taking more than an hour and a half to make it. When we expressed our disappointment we were dismissed. Was really hoping to have a better experience.

Diner Review №73

First time trying the food after a recommendation from acquaintance. Long story short, after eating one of the spring roll I felt something stuck in the back of my throat, I gagged and cough it up until I was able to pull what appeared to be a thin piece of plastic out of my throat. I stared at it in disbelief and of course paranoid if I swallowed more than one piece of plastic. I’m sure their food is tasty but this is completely unacceptable!

Diner Review №74

Great. Best in town.

Diner Review №75

Krua Thai is amazing. Nice family owned place that is authentic. Good amount of food that always tastes good. I have never had a bad experience. My wife and I love the Curries. Everything else is amazing as well, we just love Curry with rice. Get a Thai tea too!

Diner Review №76

Their spring rolls with Big Boy sauce is a must try

Diner Review №77

So happy we tried this place! Curry was amazing!

Diner Review №78

Delicious food and super sweet lady that makes you feel at home, makes great recommendations, and goes above and beyond!

Diner Review №79

Exceptional service, great food, well worth the short wait.

Diner Review №80

This is a hidden gem. I absolutely love it. However, don’t plan to go in there and sit and eat. There is little to no dining space you need to get your food to go and take it home or to your favorite spot and enjoy it but it is well worth it.

Diner Review №81

Food is awesome and people are great!!

Diner Review №82

The owner is amazing and friendly. The food is outstanding. We had the chow mein with level 1 and sesame chicken. Will definitely be coming back!!

BEST THAI FOOD IN THE CITY 🔥🔥🔥
CHEF TEEDAH IS THE THAI GORDON RAMSEY

Diner Review №89

Diner Review №90

My wife had spring rolls I had shrimp rolls excellent the right crisp my entree was the beef and broccoli at a like 3 spice and it was the best beef and broccoli I've ever had

Diner Review №91

The food was ok, but the chairs were dirty (several). It's definitely not the best Thai I've had, but ok.

Diner Review №92

Excellent small Thai cafe. Their food is excellent. Love the different spice levels you can ask for. Make sure you have your entire party when you arrive. Cafe is small so getting it to go is a great option.

Diner Review №93

This place was ridiculously good!! We were driving through from out of town and stopped here for dinner. The service was very friendly and the food was SO delicious! Especially the Thai Sweet & Sour, it was absolutely to die for. I would eat it every day if I lived closer. The space could use some updates but it did not detract from the experience. A word of caution though: they're not kidding around with the spice level! Don't be a hero! Level 1 is perfect if you like a little heat but aren't used to Thai spiciness.

Diner Review №94

We were going to get it to go but we were talked into eating there. She said it would taste so much better if we ate it fresh and the chicken would be good and crispy and boy was she right! I had the Chinese sweet and sour chicken and my husband ordered the sesame chicken both were so delicious! And the spring rolls were the best! I just couldn't get over how yummy the pan fried rice was and it wasn't even greasy! We will be back!

Diner Review №101

It is a quaint place but the food was delicious. Love the atmosphere and great service. It is definitely a must place to visit.

Diner Review №102

The food is always delicious. We especially love the yellow curry and massaman curry.

Diner Review №103

The last few times I ordered the chicken pad Thai it wasn’t great, very soggy. I decided to give it another chance and ordered today and it had absolutely no flavor. It was one of the most bland things I have ever eaten. I also don’t like how the spice rating is never consistent. I ordered 2 star in the past and it’s so hot (which I enjoy) then order 2 star another time and there is absolutely no spice or flavor. I will not be eating here again.

Diner Review №104

I'm disappointed. Seeing the great reviews, and then being in the restaurant seeing their signs regarding no refunds on due to spice and other rules. I was expecting very good authentic Thai. Unfortunately the food I had lacked flavor. I ordered two pad Thai and a red curry. The pad Thai lacked any sort of flavor at all. The red curry was much more flavorful but had more of a tomato taste unsteady of a curry taste. All in all the service was great, the atmosphere was great but the food was very disappointing. I just moved into the area from Seattle and Thai is my favorite food so definitely will to give it another chance.

Diner Review №105

Was luckily directed to this small, unassuming restaurant today....had the Pad Woonsen, which has glass noodles and mushrooms, you choose your protein. They give you levels of spiciness to choose from. It was delicious!! Will be coming back.

Diner Review №106

Some of the best Thai food I have ever had. The place is very small. Luckily we were able to time it just right to get a table. Tida, whom I believe maybe one of the owners, was amazing. I believe this woman could run a small country.

Diner Review №107

Loved your restaurant and your food! The signs were amazing!! Great people and personalities!!

Diner Review №118

We were passing through and through this sounded good. We stopped and as we pulled in we were a little worried. But that changed really quick as we were greeted. The staff was so nice and helpful. They gave choice ideas and the food was so good. Will be visiting again.

Diner Review №119

Tita is one of the most amazing and genuine people you will ever meet. Her service and hospitality are top notch. The food is absolutely delicious Thai soul food. You can tell she cares so much about what she does. I will definitely be back!

Diner Review №120

The pad thai, massaman curry, and the spring rolls are the best. The service is also great because you can just call it in and it will be ready in just a few minutes. But there is not much seating.

Diner Review №188

I had the DUI noodles( Pad Kee Mao). Which was very tasty! I tried the 3 star spice level, it was a good spice level if you like spicy food, but not too spicy. The staff were very friendly and I had a great experience! I would definitely recommend if your in Abilene!

Diner Review №196

Diner Review №197

Probably the best Pa Nang I have had in my life. Super spicy and very tasty. Would fight someone for a bowl.

Diner Review №198

Diner Review №199

The food wasn't impressive. I got there 35 mins after ordering foods as I was told, and I had to wait another 20 mins in line just picking up foods.
They need to improve this system.
Pad Thai noodles were mushy and soggy, probably because of the wait.
Sesame chicken was way too sweet. Too much sugar in it.
