Neighborhood Thai Kitchen
First time visiting this place. Definitely going back. Staff were friendly, the food was good and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. We ordered the Fresh-Shrimp roll and Chicken satay as an appetizer. The seafood extravaganza and Pad Woonsen with chicken and ended the night with their mango sticky rice.
I have been coming to this restaurant since they opened. It’s always my go to Thai place when I’ve craving for Thai food. My favorite is their duck with green curry. And I also always get their seafood Tom yum soup. It comes with a generous amount of seafood which includes squid, scallops and shrimp. I just tried their Thai green tea for the first time and fell in with it. I think I found my new favorite drink. It’s very light and refreshing. You can definitely taste the difference between the Thai green tea vs the regular Thai tea. This has a little floral flavor to it. I would highly recommend giving it a try if you want to try something different. The customer service is always outstanding.
Great little place hidden away nicely, not a bad thing. Stopped here for lunch and it was amazing. Friendly staff and attentive.
Inside was small but clean and had a nice outdoor area.
Ordered the Thai ice tea, tulip dumplings, red curry with shrimp, seafood extravaganza and mango sticky rice.
Everything was delicious and nicely presented. Medium spice wasn't bad at all, my wife's Thai hot had some kick to it.
Price is reasonable compared to the other Thai restaurants I've visited.
Whenever in Philly again, I'll definitely revisit.
Thai Square is my neighborhood's local Thai restaurant, and although I've only visited twice, I found their food to be pretty good. My wife and I went there for dinner on a quiet weekday, with only one other table occupied. We tried the Thai beef salad, crab fried rice, and pad thai. While the food was generally okay, the fried rice was a bit too salty for my taste. The pad thai was enjoyable, and the portion size was regular, not overly large. If you've never had Thai beef salad before, I recommend trying it, but be cautious of the sour dressing – you might want it on the side. Overall, I'd come back here again, and I'd suggest Thai Square for a casual dining experience.
Weather is getting better and they opened up their outdoor seating!
Ordered summer rolls and they were kind enough to take the basil out of one set and keep it normal on the other.
Noodles and curry always good. Service is quick and very friendly. Fortunate to have a good place in the neighborhood.
Get takeout from here monthly and have also enjoyed eating on the patio. Food is always flavorful; some favorites are the pad prik king, chicken dumplings, sweet chili tilapia, summer rolls, and laab. One drawback is that if you order something with tofu instead of meat they’ll change up the vegetables in the dish - I just want the usual vegetables + tofu! Otherwise delicious food and really nice staff!

We ordered the Fresh-Shrimp roll and Chicken satay as an appetizer. The seafood extravaganza and Pad Woonsen with chicken and ended the night with their mango sticky rice.
Food 🔥🔥🔥 amazing
What a great restaurant to eat in. The food is amazing and affordable. The owners are amazing people who make their customers feel right at home. They always have a good crowd of customers who are always there and happy with their food. They have been a huge part of making the community a great place to live. I highly recommend this place for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is very clean and very well maintained.
Best Thai food and service ever. Lovely deck to eat and enjoy your food. Will make your dish as spicy as you like it upon request! 🌶️
I get the Massaman curry and cheesesteak egg rolls all the time.
Glad I found this cute restaurant. Crab Pad Thai is a must try. I will go back again!
I miss not coming by for lunch on the patio… but other than that, great spot for dependable and delicious Thai food. I love that their meats and seafood are high quality and you never find yourself throwing anything away. My favorites are the green curry, mango chicken, & the pad thai— it’s got a sourness to it that is addicting good. Delivery is always on time and the portions are generous. All the staff are friendly… you can’t beat it. Highly recommend!
Old Town ..great food
We love this place!! It's a relaxed spot to get some delicious food that is sooo reasonably priced. We will keep going back
I've ordered from here numerous times. Consistently delicious meals. Curries, noodle dishes, soups, appetizers ... all really good!
Such a gem in the area. Their food is fresh, clean, delicious, consistent, and made with quality ingredients. I love going there for lunch. And everyone there is so lovely.
Local Thai restaurant with the best red curry! The pad thai can be a hit or miss but the chicken red curry never fails. It is so delicious I will be missing it when we move out of Philly. Take out is always very quick and the staff are very friendly. Prices are good as well.
I live just down the street and have eaten at Thai Square many times. The level of consistency, quality, and friendliness is top notch. They are a jewel in Devil’s Pocket.
Yummy authentic food, good sized portions, great prices. Highly recommend!
Crab pad Thai, drunken chicken and satay are our usual favorites!
I realllly wanted to like this place but everything was just lackluster (food wise). I got takeout and the service was prompt (ready in 10-15 minutes) but the food just did not meet the mark. My Panang curry was disappointingly thin / watered down and had no flavor aside from an overpowering amount of bell peppers. Summer Rolls were fine but mine consisted of 90% lettuce spine and barely any other filling. Since this is one of 3 Thai places in the neighborhood, I think I will try the others before I ever come back here.
Good! Spicy.
It's a cozy spot! The food is delicious and the service is super friendly and welcoming! I will go again and again!
I have not had a bad experience here in over 8 years since I discovered this little gem. Staff are always exceptionally friendly. Food is always delicious. A must try if you are in the area. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I came here as the second Thai place I ever been to. Let me tell you the difference was day and night from the first place I went to, and not in a good way (the first place was called Circle Thai if you wanted to check them out). The place looks nice and I got outdoor seating. The people were very nice and service was fast, but these were the only compliments I can give this place. I ordered Tom Yum and Crispy Spring Rolls as an appetizer. The spring rolls had no flavor and the sauce barely had any too, I started to smell sewage and thought it was coming from me being outside. That was until I brought the soup closer to me to eat. Unfortunately the soup not only smelled but also tasted like they cooked it in sewer water. I also ordered Pad Thai and Mango Sticky rice. The Pad Thai smelled like Maple Syrup on pancakes, which I already thought was weird, but it had such a strange taste and was barely edible. I had hopes for the mango sticky rice as it’s not a hard dish to accomplish, of course that was a disappointment as well. The rice was anything but sticky and the mango was not fresh at all and I needed a knife to cut through it. Overall it was a Terrible experience and I wouldn’t recommend anyone come try it.
Update: We went back for dinner, and still loved our experience. We started with the curry chicken dumplings and corn fritters, both were great, and then had curry and drunken noodles. The service is always super kind and nice, and we love the more laid back homey vibes of this place. They've done a super nice job with the restaurant and menu, while still making it feel like a very small business and like you're actually making a difference by coming here. Their outdoor patio is quiet and nice, we adore it.
We had a great lunch here on a beautiful day. The patio is beautiful and cozy, the food is perfect, and our host/server was so kind. For lunch, they served a salad first that had amazing peanut dressing on it, and the lunch portions were perfect. The outside patio has always peaked our interest, so we're glad we finally stopped by. The woman working was super nice, and even joked and was kind to us when we literally accidentally dumped over all of the waters on our tables! It made us feel a lot better for being dumb. I got the drunken noodle, medium spicy, and really enjoyed the noodles and will love coming back here! I'm glad we finally tried them out!
Wonderful food and the best service! I wish I knew the name of the woman I spoke with on the phone, but she was so lovely. I will definitely order from here again!
Noodle and Curry dishes were flavorful, will definitely come back

Our favorite Thai place in Philadelphia. Large portions. Lovely outside dining area.
Stopped by for lunch today and enjoyed everything we ordered! Shared the appetizer sampler which included chicken satay, egg rolls, and dumplings; all of which were phenomenal. The duck basil that I had off the lunch menu was equally as great, and an excellent portion size, especially given the cost-effective pricing. Definitely recommend for some excellent Thai food and can't beat their prices either!
My regular Thai place was closed tonight So I tried to find another spot -
I read great reviews here and decide to order from here but the food was barely edible. The crispy bags were full of an identifiable meat like substance and the calamari snapped like a chewy rubber band - so yeah I’m pretty sure it was, um, “fake calamari”. (See second photo) The pad thai had nothing in it other than noodles, chicken and peanuts - no vegetables. The shrimp dumpling however was good/fine. It’s also very cheap which i guess should have tipped me off.
This place was the highlight of my Philadelphia food experience. Great food and the owner is naturally friendly. Highly recommend it!
BYOB. Favorite Thai place in the city, always buzzin' with take out orders and inside atmosphere is nice. Great outdoor eating area. Red curry is 👌
Very fast service and great outdoor seating!
Wonderful fresh food only bested by the lovely family running the joint.
Fresh vegetables and super clean bomb tasting Thai food. My wife and I love Thai food and we’re lucky enough to find (arguably) the best Thai food in Philly.
Fresh Spring rolls, Chicken Satay, Tom Yum were all delicious.
Good food, nice staff. 👌
Some of the worst Thai food i have ever had. I have tried a few of their dishes, trying to give them another chance. But consistently disappointed or out right disgusted.
Panang Curry- tasteless, watery. Supposed to be thick and saucy.
Massaman curry- also very watery curry would just run to the bottom of the plate not sticking to rice at all. More like a soup
Green curry- green curry spiciest of all thai curry was bland and possibly had food coloring to attain the color
Pad Thai- a jumble of mushy sweet spaghetti. No dried shrimp. Tasted like ketchup
Pad see ew- INEDIBLE! Tasted like fish! There is no fishsauce or anything fishy in pad see ew. Tasted as though they did not wash the wok out after making fish, before making the pad see ew. American broccoli instead of Chinese broccoli. Disgusting complete failure.
After trying again last night I threw the entire dish out after a few bites. Tasted off and spoiled. spent the entire night vomiting. Definitely food poisoning
Very disappointed since i live right across the street. Was so excited to have a Thai restaurant ( my favorite cuisine) right across the street.
Love the sampler platter, and pad kra pow!
The soups are delicious on a cold day.
I ordered a Chicken Drunken Noodle and a Drunken Noodle with Vegetables and Tofu. I also order Sticky Rice with Mango. Everything you made were exceptional. Your chef definitely loves to cook and I will be back to your place when I am in Philly again. Thank you so much, for the care in using the best ingredients and making it so delicious. Just to remind you who I was, we spoke about the clover device u used for POS.
My go-to place for some quick and delicious Asian food.
Delicious, flavorful food at an affordable price. Super friendly staff.
arguably the best Thai food in Philadelphia
Best Thai food in the city- quality, consistent and delicious- and the owners are kind, friendly and part of our neighborhood.
We love this place! Food is good, great lunch specials and friendly staff. Our favorite Thai restaurant in the area.
I have been coming to this restaurant since they opened. It’s always my go to Thai place when I’ve craving for Thai food. My favorite is their duck with green curry. You can definitely taste the difference between the Thai green tea vs the regular Thai tea. This has a little floral flavor to it. I would highly recommend giving it a try if you want to try something different. The customer service is always outstanding.
This food taste like it sits out in a massive pot. I got the Pad Thai and it’s like mushy pasta with the oddest flavor
They have fantastic appetizers and Thai tea. The main courses are always served piping hot. Our first time there, the food was delicious and refreshing. Our second time there, however, the food seemed a little too heavy on cornstarch in the sauces.
Staff is always great. Best of all, their food is always fresh tasting and amazing.
Perfect and delicious food. The service is great. Prices are very good I highly recommend for anyone.
The best Thai food in Philadelphia surround !!
Thank you for a great service. Happy to give you guys five star review
Very kind staff, good food. I will be back!
Best Thai restaurant in Philly. Family owned, kind staff, delicious food, great neighborhood.

Really great food and amazing and friendly service. Have been here multiple times, and is a family favorite. Their lunch specials are a great deal too!
oml i started creaming when the food came 10/10
I love their food esp the lunch special - Their food is clean, no bs added. Always fast and friendly service
So clutch
My wife ordered the seafood pad Thai , love love love it and will be going back to try others on the menu . Very nice atmosphere inside to very quaint . HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Food was great. Ambiance nice. Not expensive for the area. Many vegetarian choices. Missing some taste though
My go-to thai takeout/delivery spot in the city. Curries are bomb, various pads are real good.
Great spot tucked away in corner of Grad Hospital. The food is always delicious and the service is always speedy.
Staying in Philly for a while. Went with my wife to Thai Square for dinner. Quaint location, clean, friendly service. They do not have an alcohol license, but that’s okay since they allow BYOB…which we did. We started with the Golden Bags, which we both agreed were very tasty. I then had the Pad Cashew Nut w/ Chicken - Hot (very good!) and my wife had the Chicken Peanut Sauce and said it was also very good. Nice find!
I love this family owned business. The staff and owners are always so friendly. They have the best yellow chicken curry and prices are very reasonable. Also the chicken curry dumplings are the BOMB
Oh my! This is by far, one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to in years!! The service was excellent, the food was delicious! We ordered the panang curry, chicken satay, wonton soup, peanut chicken. I loved all of it! We even ordered food to take home. The dishes were authentic , the presentation was beautiful! We will definitely be going back! The prices were fair as well. You need to try this food, won't be disappointed!
Weather is getting better and they opened up their outdoor seating!
Ordered summer rolls and they were kind enough to take the basil out of one set and keep it normal on the other.
Noodles and curry always good. Service is quick and very friendly. Fortunate to have a good place in the neighborhood.
Great neighborhood spot. All their curries are excellent and worth the trip.
Heads down best Thai lunch in the city!
Hands down best Thai food in the city. Good fresh food with lots of flavor. Delish desserts and yummy Thai iced tea. Delivery is always fast too. We order probably once a week because it’s so good, easy and quick. Order delivery directly from the restaurant and they even will do contactless drop of. Makes good leftovers too.
Delicious food and friendly folks.
This place was small but cozy. Nicely decorated and clean. The staff was very accommodating and patient. She took her time to explain the dishes and also advised us the different levels of spicy.
We were a group of four and it was our first time there so naturally we wanted to try everything! So we got the pad woon sen, pad thai, drunken noodles, green curry and pineapple fried rice.
Some dishes were better than the others. Our favorites were the shrimp pad woon sen and the pad thai. You can choose your protein with the pad woon sen but I believe shrimps best compliment the dish. Pad thai is a stable in many local Thai restaurants but the taste varies vastly. This restaurant managed to capture a perfect balance of sweet and savory in their signature pad thai dish.
The dunken noodles and pineapple fried rice were tasty as well but they lacked wok heat. Lastly, the green curry was a bit sweet and lacked the potentness that traditional green curry carries.
Tip: We ordered a couple of dishes with the level "hot" and we were sweating! The group consists of Malaysians and Koreans so we are all used to eating spicy food as we all grew up with it but the "hot" level will definitely hit the spot. With that said, "Thai hot" level may be way too much if you want to enjoy your meal.
Also, this place is BYOB so bring your favorite alcoholic beverages and enjoy! Keep in mind that during the colder weather, they have limited indoor seating so I would recommend calling them ahead of time if you plan on dining in. Happy eating!
Everything was fresh and tasty.
Delicious Thai food! Unfortunately, there are no many good restaurants in the neighborhood. However, try this once and you will visit it again. There are no many tables so go early or make a reservation. If you like spicy dishes don't forget to mention it.
Have been going here for years- love this place! Great food, friendly owner and staff. Will continue being a regular customer!
We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't crowded but we still made a reservation for the outdoor seating. We brought our dogs with us too.
Now for the food. The apps were fantastic. Golden bags and chicken wings were delicious. We ordered the lunch portions and they were indeed lunch sized. The dressing on the side salad was so good. I am not a huge fan of Thai food but was still satisfied. Only complaint was the steamed broccoli was bad, probably not fresh.
The waitresses were very friendly and service was quick.
Definitely would return.
Great menu and our food was ready for take out very quickly! Unfortunately, we got home and realized our spiciness level was messed up--the "mild" dish was dark red with chili and oils and the"medium" dish was bland.
If spiced right, I'm sure the drunken noodles and pad woonsen would have been delicious, but since they were not made right, it was just ok.
The food was amazing and tasted fresh. There were no problems at all. I will definitely be back.
Amazing dishes and great prices. Ready quickly and great local people working there.
One of, if not, the best Thai restaurant in Philadelphia. Tucked away in a quiet and pretty street is this amazing hidden gem. With a nice outdoor deck, this restaurant serves delicious Thai fare. We came twice in the same week for their lunch specials which are amazingly priced and portions are great. I definitely recommend the Pad See Ew, Drunken Noodles, Calamari and Spring Rolls, but I think everything is good there. The staff is amazing! We’ll be back for a third time and more!
Fantastic food, hands down. Can't go wrong here.
The food was amazing and the service was impeccable! definitely have to make a return trip
The ambience is great! The food is delicious and authentic with a very attentive and friendly staff😊
After a long travel day, we ordered takeout. While we ordered several dishes, and all were very good, a couple really stood out: the Golden Bags and the Num Tok Salad (grilled beef). Just marvelous and would highly recommend.
OOO baby. The food here is so good! Fresh mangos in the mango juice, fresh coconut in the coconut juice alone pretty much tells you everything is made from scratch. I love Thai curry and this one takes the #1 Thai spot for me now. The food just has so much flavor!
Food is excellent!!!!
I hate do that but lady at the front desk was very rude.
always delicious food!! prepared fast, delivered fast!!
Once again, Philly does not have good Thai food. I love supporting local restaurants , especially now but prices for eating subpar food are getting a little difficult to stomach, literally, Ordered two different types of curry that turned out to taste same thing and was the consistency of water, and Pad Thai which was just a greasy ball of noodles, no shrimp and no bean sprouts!! The spring rolls were the saving grace but pretty difficult to mess those up.
Wonderful people and delicious food! I’m hooked :)
I enjoy everything I order. I have never eaten in but have gotten takeout several times.
Really good and affordable Thai place tucked away in grad hospital/grays ferry area!
It's been my favorite Thai restaurant since I move to Philly. Fast and delicious foods. I love fresh shrimp spring rolls and pad Thai here. Yellow curry is tasty and not too spicy and perfect!
This is the best Thai place in the area.
The Drunken Noodle and Pad See-ew dishes are excellent. The noodles are always cooked perfectly. Pad Thai and Basil Fried Rice are also great. The Golden Bags appetizer is really fun and tasty. I would feel confident ordering anything here.
The staff is really nice, and they remembered my name after only two visits. It is great to have a neighborhood restaurant where the staff knows you.
Nice little neighborhood restaurant. Their lunch menu is cheap, portions are huge. You’ll have leftovers.
We discovered a large insect in our order. Do not recommend.
Excellent food and the nicest people. Today one of the employees saw me moving something heavy and went out of her way to ask if I wanted to borrow the restaurant’s dolly. I think this speaks to the character of the people that work here. Please support their business as you are able!
Wonderful, friendly place that always has delicious options ready for pickup. I told them it was my graduation day, and they threw in a free dessert! :)
A household favorite for us - food is incredible with good portion sizes, although it's a bit on the more expensive side for take-out Thai. Regardless, highly recommend. Thanks for all the great food!
The only place in Philadelphia were the Thai food taste authentic to me! I've been to Thailand and loved it. The food here bring me back there everytime. The staff is really nice, and if you become a regular, they might just remember your name!
Great food and their lunch specials are great
I’ve been coming here for 4 years and it’s some of the best Thai I’ve ever had!
Food is ok but nothing out of the ordinary
Had very good pad thai. Great atmosphere, very cute place. Very clean. Very kind staff. I'll definitely be back.
I ate until I was satisfied and the food was delicious and filling. Highly recommend.
Great fresh food that always comes out hot. Excellent service and five stars for cleanliness! Wonderful atmosphere, especially the lovely deck out front of the store. Thai Square as been an amazing addition to our neighborhood.
My fiancé and I frequent here (once a week). This is truly a hidden neighborhood gem. The food is always amazing and they treat their regulars like family. The best shrimp drunken noodles I have ever eaten.
Great Pad Thai and Spring Rolls
best curry in Philadelphia, the nicest staff imaginable. never had a bad dish or experience. great lunch specials too.
They staff was friendly and the food was fantastic. The Thai iced tea and my Pad-see-ew was delicious, and so was the mango sticky rice.
Everything was excellent!
Really delicious food, the lunch menu is really versatile and very decently priced. The portions are good. The peanut sauce in the salad is really tasty. Customer service was really prompt and courteous, it's a small yet very well maintained and peaceful neighborhood restaurant. Would definitely go back to try more food options from them.
Things you will be satisfied with.
1. Quick service.
2. Decent portions.
3. Nice outdoor seating.
4. Affordable pricing.
5. Spice level ranges.
6. Really tasty food.
Westernized Thai food that will please anyone except perhaps a Thai national.
Very good food and service. Cute place too.
Moved in down the street one week ago and just tried for the first time, we will be going back A LOT.
Very nice and helpful service. The food is fresh and delicious!! I've tried the curries and the noodles. Never had a dish I didn't enjoy.
Great selection of off-the-beaten-path options like duck, crab and salmon, as well as the mainstay curries, pad Thai and salad rolls. Lunch special. Brown rice option
So yummy....especially crispy duck curry
Love it here
Great food, everything was delicious. Great service too! Good prices, definitely recommend.
We love this place! The owners are so so kind and the food is delicious. Our favourites are green curry and pad Thai!
Friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. The food is both tasty and unique. My wife and I enjoyed the Crab Pad Thai and the Crispy Duck Red Curry. Both we wonderful. Great experience.
Not only is the food wildly delicious, but I highly recommend them for catering. The owner worked hard to create a menu within my budget and when we were having trouble, she always went the extra mile showing that she truely cared about how our event went. She (Laddie) even through in a few items on the house! And they delivered with all utensils and everything!!!! And it all tasted amazing. I am totally going to use them again. Loved them!
Very nice atmosphere. Authentic food. We can tell the cook knew how to cook Thai food. We enjoyed the outdoor seating when it is warm.
