This is one of our go-to Thai restaurants, and it rarely disappoints. We always order their pineapple fried rice with shrimp, pad spicy eggplant, and green curry—these dishes never miss. This time, though, we decided to branch out and try something new: the pad see ew and egg rolls.

Unfortunately, the egg rolls didn’t quite hit the mark. They lacked the crispness we were hoping for and they weren’t as good. The pad see ew, while flavorful, was a bit too salty for our taste. Next time, we’ll probably stick with our usual green curry, which always delivers.

On the bright side, the service here is consistently friendly and the restaurant is clean. Plus, there's plenty of parking around, making it a convenient spot to dine.

Through door dash I ordered the Pad Thai with calamari and spice level 3. There was absolutely NO spice at all and the calamari had no flavor, maybe over boiled and tossed in? It was greasy and had 3 small piece of green onion and a few sprouts on top of soggy noodles. I have lived in Sherwood for 22 years and have loved this restaurant, but this was not the quality it has been in the past.

We found accidentally this place but we glad for it because we'll return definitely. The best ratio of price and guality! Big dishes, very authentic, really Thai taste, perfect combination of spices! We ordered Tom Ka Goong soup with shrimp (creamy and mild spicy), Pad Cashew Nut with chicken (love it!) and Pineapple Fried Rice. The last one is on the menu of other Thai cafes, but only here we were served it, as it is served in Thailand - in half a pineapple! More friendly staff will be wellcome next time))

A favorite lunch spot. Food is always delightful, full of flavor and delivered quickly. I gave a 4 star for service only because some of the servers refuse to smile and are cranky. But they work hard and deliver plates of yumminess.

Great food, great price, large portions

Food was very subpar. I would recommend the other Thai place close to Planet Fitness over this place. We asked for mild spice, and they gave us extra hot. Plus the quality was not great so we asked for a refund. No refunds! This is the second time we have had an issue - first time was with their payment system.

Sawatdee had great options on the menu, service was nice and the food was fast.
I ordered a duck curry--it was delicious and had some new flavors I hadn't had before with curry, (like grapes). I wouldn't mind if the flavors were more intense though. It was slightly mild. I will be happy to go back!

My wife and have eaten here several times and it was always good. However, on 7/13/24 we had dinner and both suffered from really bad food poisoning. We were both sick for apx 48 hours. My wife was worse than me throwing up all night and the following day. The staff are nice but it seems understaffed lately and unsure if that had anything to do either what happened?? Anyhow we are rethinking eating there again after what wexwent thru.

The host was extremely friendly and polite and the place was immaculately clean and smelled nice. The food was extremely cheap, but was very very bad. The pad Thai had no flavor at all. Just plain noodles with bean sprouts and some random bits of bell pepper. I couldn't taste tamarind. There were no peanut crumbles. No wedge of lime. Just a box of bland noodles. The fried shrimp and vegetable apetizer looked so terrible and burnt it went strait in the garbage. The salad rolls were huge and had no flavor. My wife equally hated the pad kee Mao. We paid half what it would be worth if it was good, but I guess you get what you pay for. This place has potential if they hire a Chef.

Such great food. We’ve been going here for years. Best Thai food I’ve ever had. The servers are wonderful as well. I highly recommend the pad cashew nut or the pad Thai. Their Thai iced teas are also delicious!

I came here for lunch today and ordered chicken phad thai. The chicken was extremely dry. The noodles tasted like lime... I did not put any lime on my dish. I think they put it on there ahead of time. The noodles are somewhat dry as well. I am honestly confused as to why this restaurant has such high reviews. It was inexpensive for lunch, but that is the only positive thing I have to say. I may give them another chance when it is not lunch time, but I also might not since I did not enjoy the food.

I was walked in and was greeted very nicely, they do boba on one side and food on the other.

They did doublecharge me for my order, and I’m very sad with the way they chose to do it, since they could tell I was traveling, but I believe they wouldn’t have done so unless they needed to. Thanks for giving me a place to eat spicy food while the rain poured down.

I love a good Pad Thai and decided to try this place for the first time. Service was quick and staff was nice but the dish had zero flavor. Not any spice or peanut sauce….really odd and flavorless.

Get the spicy duck. It’s not that spicy but it’s one of my fave meals in the greater Portland area. I’ve never had a bad meal here. It’s a tiny place so don’t go expecting a fancy atmosphere but do expect great food!

Read reviews and wanted to try it myself. The restaurant was busy at noon. I ordered Pad Rad Na which is my baseline for testing thai restaurant. Noodle was good at good wok temp but the gravy was too watery for this dish. Overall taste was good.

Amazing Yellow Curry!

I’ve been eating Thai food for a long time and this is the best Thai food I’ve ever had! Super flavorful, amazing spice and big portions. I got the pineapple fried rice which was served in an empty portion of half of a pineapple which I found to be a fun presentation. It’s a hole in the wall kind of place. Be prepared to be blown away!

First timers... They accidentally gave our order to another party picking up. The gentleman at the front desk brought us iced tea to our car and apologized for the mix up (very thoughtful). We weren't in a hurry. So glad we found this place. Best pad thai and pineapple fried rice we've had in a long time. This is definitely our Thai restaurant of choice. Be sure to try the salad rolls and peanut sauce.

Sawatdee is a necessary staple in this community. My co-workers & I regularly get lunch here and the food never disappoints. Their fried rice is probably the best I’ve had in the Portland area.

Usually a fairly good place, but lately they've been slower with to-go orders. Took them 45 minutes to get mine out, and they gave me the wrong food. They did manage to serve customers who came in to eat at the restaurant in just 10 minutes though.

I have to practice self-restraint by not eating here every single day, because it is by far my favorite restaurant in Oregon. The food is of fantastic quality and is always prepared consistently, the food is prepared quickly, and the staff is always friendly. But, most importantly, they can make all of their dishes GLUTEN FREE! For anyone else with a sensitivity to gluten, this is the place to go. Would give 6 stars if I could, this is the best Thai restaurant around, with the second-best one in Oregon being Thai Bay, in Lincoln City.

Wow! Fantastic Thai food. We eat at many Thai restaurants in our travels around the metro area, I-5 cooridor and up and down the coast. Perfectly cooked shrimp, noodles, duck and vegetables. The red curry was a little darker than I've seen before and it was absolutely delicious. A new favorite, for sure. Service was very nice.

Had googled what were good places to eat in Sherwood, and this had the highest reviews. I see why. I got the Fire chicken noodles, and the quality of the ingredients and portion size were amazing. Not a bad price of $12 for the freshness and look of the food. Will go there again when out that way.

I love Thai food and Sawatdee may just be my favorite Thai restaurant. The environment is very homey, and the food is some of the best I have ever had. All of their food is great and their Sawatdee Thai iced tea (cream is substituted with lime) is addicting. I am a big curry fan, and always get their yellow curry. My son turned me on to this place and I love it! I usually get the Evil jungle noodles with beef or shrimp, I love spicy so I get a level 3..4 was a little much.
Prices are reasonable and the service is fast and friendly. I wish they were open a little later because sometimes after work I feel like calling in an order but I'm off to late. You can dine in or take out but the dining area is pretty small. Give this place a try for excellent Thai

I've personally only been a couple of times, but this is a favorite of a friend who lives nearby. The food is delicious, and the service is prompt. It may not be a big place, but it's worth a visit.

Delicious tofu dishes!!!!!

Today was my first-ever visit to Sawatdee, and they vaulted right to the top of my Thai food list. The potstickers were incredible — just the right amounts chewy, savory and toasty — and I loved the crispy fried duck.

I brought my little niece with me, and our waiter offered to make her chicken basil dish non-spicy. That was excellent, too. My niece wanted to give the restaurant 1,000 stars — but since Google only allows five, we settled for that.

Fresh ingredients, and amazing flavor! My girlfriend and I went in for lunch. I got the spicy noodles with chicken and vegetables, and she got the Sawatdee fried rice (no tomatoes) Golden Triangles for our appetizer. Our food was outstanding! And the customer service was great. This place gets an A+ from me. I will definitely return, and most likely try something new.

Love this place. I have it weekly at least. Lately it’s been so oily and salty... it’s too much. Which makes me sad becuz this place was great. Before Covid def recommend this place as take out because it’s busy and you will wait forever for food. Not just strictly take out. I’m not on an diet restrictions but when the past 5 times it’s been so salty we all chug gallons of water and am swollen... not so fun.

Good flavor. Order extra rice for they are generous with the sauce. One curry dish can feed two if order extra rice. Friday nights could get really busy so order an hour ahead of your dinner time for take out.

This place is very inconsistent. Today I ordered Pad Kra Pao and Pad Thai with Cashews, both with pork and what was delivered to me was neither Kra Pao nor Pad Thai. It was basically steamed veggies, one with pork one with chicken and had nothing to do with what I ordered. Yes, they got the protein on one of the orders wrong. I'm so disappointed since my last order from this place was stellar. BEWARE. Don't order here since the quality of what they deliver to you is either all or nothing.

Before 12/2020 every order came with full box of rice. On 12/1/2020 I ordered the spicy catfish came with only half small box of rice. I thought
the person who packed the rice made a mistake. Today 12/28/20 I order
spicy duck and spicy catfish they still give me half large box of rice. I ask the server why the rice is only half. His answer is company policy. I say is ridiculous half box of rice how to share between two person. I have never come across restaurants give half box of rice. So Sawatdee want customer to pay for more rice or customer has to cook their own rice. If I have to buy a small box of rice $1.50 from them it will only half box. This is ridiculous ridiculous ........

Honestly this is the best Thai food I’ve had in the portland area. Their drunken noodles are wonderful as is their pad Thai but their curries are where it is at. I have had a lot of yellow curry and this is my favorite by a long shot! They are sometimes a bit slow when using an app for a delivery but pick up is always smooth and their food is worth it!
