The Pineapple fried rice was very delicious. A slight bit of heat, but not too hot. The flavors was great, personally I think there could have been more raisins in it, that's my personal opinion though. I had mine with beef.

We phoned in an order of crab fried rice, drunken noodles, yellow curry, and pad thai. The crab fried rice was definitely the highlight but everything else was very good. Portion size was great as well! It fed a group of 6 with leftovers to spare.

We ordered peach, melon, strawberry, and orange with our favorite being the melon which was reminiscent of the OG Melona (iykyk).

Have a tofu pad Thai that I’ve been told for years was vegetarian. It’s not. Thanks for lying to me all these years.

It is ok. Seems a bit expensive to me but that's how everything is these days.

The yellow curry lacked flavor and was more of a tan color instead of yellow. The peanut sauce had a chemical taste. The evil jungle had a little more spice, but was very greasy. The packaging is very strange, you can’t reclose it to save the leftovers and utensil and napkins were not provided.

Every time I go here or get food, it’s always delicious and the people are so nice. Especially the Expo, Raine. Very kind and great service

The food here is always delicious! Top dishes for our family are Pad See Ew (#85), orange chicken and my granddaughters favorite it chicken on a stick (chicken satay).

Went to this location hoping for a good experience but all I got was very bland, not seasoned, drunken noodles with chicken and broccoli on par with those microwavable bags.

We ordered food from here and it came in these strange plastic containers that made me wonder if the food was just pre-made and microwaved. The food was expensive for the quality and the quantity. The only reason I tried this place was the restaurant I normally order from was closed. Definitely not going to order again.

Delicious food! Been coming since before they moved to their new location. The food is still delicious and fresh. Highly recommend their pad Thai with any of their meats.

The chicken satay was okay, but could've used more peanut sauce. The Pra Ram was pretty flavorless and, again, not enough peanut sauce to help give it flavor.

This food is hardly edible, if at all. The worst ever. Microwave dinner for 55 bucks. Worst meet. Feeling sick within 15 minutes. Do not eat there is my advice.

We came in for lunch and no one would bother to wait on us. They were not at all busy, they saw us waiting and continued to chat away. We waited for a long time then walked out. The waitress finally acknowledged us saying "Have a nice day!" We won't be back.

Wonderful food. I had the mango curry with eggplant. My husband had a beef stir-fry. The food tasted fresh and well prepared, with just the right amount of spices. I drove from silverton for their papaya salad because my normal place is closed on Monday. It's literally a snack size, for 13 dollars, and has big chunks of cabbage instead of green salad. Most the sauce was in the bag also. Supper disappointed, this used to be one of my favorites at the old location but won't be back.

I don't know what happened to this place but my family has dined here for years and never had a complaint. Things have changed and the food was just bad. Servers were nice but the kitchen needs help. We won't be back.

Gas pack

Ordered Pad Thai and Pad Si Ew to be delivered on door dash. Very disappointed in the portion size. for over $15 each I expect them both to not fit on a normal dinner plate without being piled on and laying pretty much flat.
No option for no spice on doordash so if you select regular you will get some spice and its a big shock if you were not expecting it.
Flavors on both are subpar at best.

I wouldn't recommend this if it was the last Thai place in Salem, not worth over $30 for 2 " meals".

Rice was gross. Came wrapped in plastic wrap and was hard. Ruined the dish as you need rice to make the dish complete. Pad thai was cold. $60 not very well spent.

Food is really good! Got it for a team lunch and it was very tasty. I got regular spice and it was enough for me. Proceed with caution on the spice levels if you’re also a spice weenie.

I ordered with Uber Uber eats the order was delivered very quickly at least 10 minutes before the estimated time. I’m very happy with that portion. I have eaten Thai several times before and this was definitely mediocre compared to Thai food I’ve had prior. Not a lot of flavor, Doesn’t feel like there was very much love, put into the food, will not order from here again.

Walked in at 8:20 they close at 9 and was told i had 60 seconds to order because the kitchen was closing she rudely slapped a menu on the host desk and was told order right there on the spot or leave, I don’t care how good the food is (who knows didn’t get to try it) will not be returning here solely based of horrible customer service.

This has been one of our go-to Thai restaurants in town since they opened at their old location. While the new location is very different from the old location, the food is still quite good, and the new location is still comfortable and pleasant.

This is among the best Thai food in the area - though they're really reluctant to make a dish very spicy/hot. Food is always fresh and well prepared. I tend towards the curries, which are all great - the braised lamb Mussaman Curry is really excellent - though no matter how much I insist I actually want mine spicy, I end up having to add my own spice in the form of chili flakes/oil -- which they provide willingly.

I love Thai iced tea - I know it's not "authentic", but it's delicious - and they make a great Thai iced tea. Their salad rolls are awesome, and I usually sneak some bites of chicken Satay from my kids. My wife loves their Pad Thai.

Service has been solid. The staff is efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable about their menu. Food comes out of the kitchen with relative speed, and is very consistent from visit to visit.

Overall, despite my preference for the old location, this is still a great Thai restaurant, and well worth a try if you're in the mood.

Great food, the pad se ew and the pad thai were top notch. We had sticky rice with mango for desert which was also very good. The restaurant was crowded on a Sunday, so obviously lots of people are enjoying it.

The garlic lovers chicken is absolutely delicious. All our entrees came out freshly cooked and pleasing. Warm atmosphere, embracing the downtown style feel with Great Food.

Went here and got the chicken larb “salad”. I asked for lettuce cups, as they served the “salad” with dry squares of cabbage. When I asked for lettuce cups they said they would have to charge me $3. When they brought me the lettuce it was hardly a few leaves and it wasn’t fresh. I understand paying for something extra, but if you’re going to upcharge when the dish was already less than medicocre, please make it worth it. I’ve been in the industry for many years, and I know this was a petty move. If it wasn’t for the incredible server we had, I would have sent it back and left.

I absoutley love their pad thai. This is my go too place and frequently order take out from here. My only gripe is the inconsistency with spice. I regularly order medium spice pad thai and the degree of spice I have recieved in past orders has varied greatly. Sometimes it is very close to no spice and sometimes it is so spicy it's hard to taste the other flavors. I expect some variance of course but not this much.

They gave me the wrong order, blamed it on whoever picked it up, and wouldn't refund me my $65. Maybe they should check orders before handing it to just anyone. They also lied saying my name popped up as a different name, which I know is untrue because my Uber deliveries ALWAYS say Krista C.- never ever has my account changed my name for an order.

Got the ground chicken in lime and cilantro blah blah. It's like saw dust and the cabbage is uncooked squares next to it. I used to love this place. Was inedible, unfortunately.

This has been my go to spot downtown ever since they were in the Liberty Plaza. I do enjoy eating my pad thai in the comfort of my home and I’ve never been disappointed with my take out orders. Staff is always friendly , my food is delicious and I am happy 😊

Update : I usually order from third party apps which require payment in advance , for some reason tonight when I called to order I was told to provide my credit card over the phone because my last order was never picked up … I reviewed my apps and all show delivered.
It’s pretty suspicious for a company to ask for credit card via phone call, how am I to know it’s safe …

Raven is a Great server! She is very attentive and has a great personality. The four stars is for the chairs. They are not very comfortable… Prices are competitive.

I had the spicy fried rice with basil. It was amazing. The interior is a little sparse, but other than that it was a good experience.

I went with my family to eat dinner at this place and the food was pretty good I ordered the shrimp pad Thai. The only thing is that there isn’t a kids menu so I wouldn’t consider going with smaller kids.

Just great food to taste - the green curry with coconut milk - the best

The staff was nice BUT when I got home with my order of chicken pad Thai it was inedible! $14 gone to waste! The pad Thai tasted like fish and was so salty. Someone must have accidentally put too much. It’s a shame this is my favorite place but idk if I can trust it anymore.

We were in town for a show at the Elsinore tonight. Our first choice for dinner was closed (Monday). So we began to look around to see what was available. We drove by this friendly, inviting-looking restaurant and thought to try it.

The service was satisfactory. But we were disappointed with the food overall. My companion ordered one of her favorite Thai dishes (Pra Ram), and it was (in her words) "not a good version." The chicken resembled deli-sliced meat in a pale, tasteless sauce. I ordered the Lemongrass Chicken and was served something the server called Spicy Chicken. It was not spicy. The vegetables were bright and colorful but were swimming in a greasy, slightly burnt-tasting sauce.

Was the place having an off night? But in times like these, the restaurant needs to make an effort to WOW on the first visit. Likely, we will not go back again.

Been there 10 times at least and they never disappoint. Got the prik king (green bean and bell pepper) w double chicken every time, Thai spice just because I want my eyes to sweat. The eggplant dish is great but never enough eggplant. But seriously the spice is so good and sometimes the level below just doesn’t.. make ur eyes sweat, a cry, the tears come from the corners but the sweat is like a fogging of the windshield of ur car, so good it cleans ur eyes out 😂

First time at Thai Orchid and I have to say the food was amazing. The green curry was spicey and the veggies cooked to perfection. The Pad Thai was one of the best we have every had (if not THE best!). The appetizer plate was a little lack luster but not enough to prevent me giving it 5 stars, will be one of my new go-to places.

The food at Thai Orchid was amazing! I would recommend this place to everyone. The atmosphere there was chill and welcoming! The food I got was so tasty. I got the pad tai and the pumpkin curry. I also got a Tai tea! Five stars 🤩!!

Incredible green curry

So far I’ve gone 3 times and it hasn’t disappointed. We even decided to go for our anniversary for lunch. Everything is so refreshing and the waitress is very sweet and always makes sure to check up on us. Even the environment itself is relaxing and I feel refreshed everytime I come out. Only thing is that it is pricier, we end up leaving with around a $50+ bill

Dined in and it was quiet, nice atmosphere, the service was great and LOVED the food. I got the typical Pad Thai and hubby had the Thai Orchid Curry and both were very yummy. Decently priced for the portions you get. Lots of GF and Vegan options. We plan on coming back!

Thai food with a good selection. The heat was a bit hotter than my spicy food lovers when they got medium. The mild pad Thai was nothing special but tasty.
The Thai tea was pretty standard.
The coconut stick rice was good, they didn't have Mango.

Seating Was a booth along the wall with two top tables. A few two tops in the middle of the floor. There were some six tops towards the bar.

Best drunken noodles I've had in some time.

our first time trying thai orchard (and thai food) was not a fond experience.

we placed an order for take out and by the time we got home we realized they forgot my wifes entire dish. we called and they said they had the dish sitting there for us to come back and get so we asked the manager if they could remake all the food because half of our order would just be sitting there for 30 minutes and she told us to just reheat it at home. reheat our $45+ dinner. I said that was ridiculous i would like to have everything i paid for fresh but she refused to do anything to make up for the fact that they messed up and caused us to have to make two separate trips to the restaurant while not being able to eat our food for 30+ minutes. definitely not an experience that would make me want to come back sadly.

Excellent service. A good range of flavorful curry, rice, noodle and other options. Plenty of good, crunchy veggies. Pleasant space. And unlike so many other downtown Salem eateries, the music was not deafening. I would definitely go back.

First-timer for their dine-in experience, and a recent caller for delivery. Quality doesn't disappoint, and the options I ordered were both flavorful, fresh, and plentiful. Highly recommend either their sweet Thai tea or their Thai coffee; be aware, their coffee is especially sweet!

Their dining room area is spacious, with enough seating lining the (as you enter) right side of the interior. It feels like they could add more seating, but that might begin to make things feel more crowded. Totally okay if they kept seating volume where it is.

Friendly staff round out what should be a pleasant venue for delicious Thai cuisine. Highly recommended. Theirs adds to the richness of ethnic foodie options available to Salem. I expect to return to try their chicken satay and peanut sauce!

The food tasted awesome! My reasonings for the 3 stars is that I paid about 14 dollars for some chicken pineapple curry that had only like 3 small pieces of chicken in it. The to go silverware provided was super crummy too.
I don't think I'll be back unless I get the craving for a expensive veggie curry.

I have been going to Thai Orchid for years and have found it so I be consistent and always good. A few days ago I was at an emergency vet clinic in the parking lot waiting for hours. I was very hungry and I was unable to leave so I ordered delivery. When I got the food I had nothing to eat it with (despite requesting utensils)and my hands were not clean enough to eat with. I gave Thai Orchid a call right away and I was told a manager would call me back. I did not hear back that night and I did not get to eat my $35 delivery meal for one. It was a very bad day that didn’t end until 12:30am.

Skipping to today:
The owner Tana called me after getting my number from Uber as my info did not make it to him otherwise. He had excellent customer service skills that I did not expect (especially after reading so many reviews on here). I do a lot of customer call backs myself as a supervisor and I have to admit I am a tough customer. I am critical when I do not feel heard and I expect there to be some attempt at making a situation ’right’. I am however not unrealistic in what can be offered to a customer when making things right. Tana impressed me with his professionalism, interest in learning from this situation, and asked me what he can do to make this right. He offered a refund and another meal in hopes of not losing my business. I came into our conversation assuming there was nothing he would be willing to do for me, but I was wrong. I am sure I will be back to Thai Orchid in the future, but I will not be needing to take advantage of the free meal he had offered on top of the refund. Times are tough and staffing is a struggle. I am thankful he offered though!

Best Thai in town

Love there pai Thai it's to die for totally stuck on it.

I’ll start off by saying my rating is not because of the taste. I really do enjoy the flavor of the food.
My issue is with the attached pictures.
As you can see, I ordered a beef pad thai. I also asked for extra chicken. I clearly told them I did NOT want 50/50; I wanted EXTRA chicken. You can tell they got this part correct on the receipt.
So for $18, I got 3 oz of beef. After paying $4 extra, they only gave me .08 oz of chicken. Really? For $4?
So for $22 I got a total of 3.08 oz of meat… something isn’t adding up for me here.
Just something to keep in mind if ordering from here.

The staff is very rude to dashers and do a very poor job of checking on orders that are ready for pick up. Just be aware of this if you order from here. Sometimes we literally have to stand there and watch your food get cold as the staff chat or walk at a snail speed to check on orders in the kitchen instead of looking at the ready to go orders.
Can't comment on any of the food but I definitely won't be ordering from them knowing how carless they are with their costumers orders.

I ordered lemongrass chicken and drunken noodles via DoorDash. Drunken noodles were awesome, but the lemon grass chicken, an $18 dollar dish, was precooked chicken breast with a soapy-tasting peanut sauce (not tasting cilantro). Really disappointed they cut corners like that and still expect that kind of a price tag.

I don’t normally leave reviews if I’ve had a bad experience, but the way that I was treated tonight after spending 50.00 on a meal was unacceptable. Once we got home, we realized that we had the wrong order. I had ordered two orders of chicken pad Thai, one regular and one with extra chicken and pineapple and also an order of pineapple rice. I received chicken satay instead of the original chicken pad Thai. I called and the lady that I spoke to told me that it was my fault that I got the wrong order! She said she repeats the orders three times so there is no way that it was her fault. Nobody ever repeats the order three times! She then went on to say that she was not going to give me a free meal because it was my fault. I proceeded to tell her that I wouldn’t order chicken satay because I didn’t even know what it is and that I’m not looking for a free meal but to be compensated for the item I didn’t order. She then hung up on me! I really love their food but I will not be going back if I have to deal with people like her!😞

I’m not one to write bad reviews as I’ve worked in a restaurant before and understand a lot of the complications that can arise. However, this was the first time I have ordered from Thai Orchid and I will never order here again due to the disregard their staff showed towards me when I was patiently and politely waiting in their pick-up area for an order that was never marked as “ready” when it had been sitting there, completely prepared before I had even stepped in the door.

I ordered two Pad Thais this evening via DoorDash (at around 7:10pm) and arrived a minute before my food was scheduled to be ready (7:40pm) I spoke with an employee about my order and said that it was past my scheduled pick up time, but that it said it wasn’t ready yet. The employee assumed that the chefs were still preparing it without checking the multiple completed orders that were sitting on the table. She also didn’t even bother to really look me in the eyes as we were speaking.

I sat down off to the side as she continued to sweep and help customers picking up orders for about ten minutes. She then decided to come back out, I’m assuming because she saw that the chefs weren’t cooking anything at the time, and asked me again what the name on my order was. My order had been sitting there, completely ready to go, before I even arrived.

When the employee handed me my food she quietly and nonchalantly said, “Sorry ‘bout that.” I really don’t like treating people poorly, but I couldn’t help but just say, “Ok,” and walk out the door. Had they been busy, I would have completely understood. Things happen. But all of this together along with an insincere apology without even the offer of a small soft drink for the inconvenience is unacceptable.

I don’t order food out very often because I can’t really afford to so I chose one of the more highly rated Thai places in the area and opted for pick-up to ensure that I could get my food right when it was ready and enjoy it. The fact that, at a slow time, the employee couldn’t be bothered to do their job and actually help me is just really bad customer service.

You either need to pay your employees more so they actually care, or you need to hire new employees.

Just recieved my lemon grass chicken delivery without the peanut sauce. Huge disappointment. First and LAST time i'll be ordering from this place.

Yikes! Messed up our order, blamed it on Caviar, then fought with us about it. All they had to do was offer a percentage off the price, coupon, a free side...but they chose to lie and argue and blame...

Used to eat here a lot, they never remembered the Thai chili peppers, that or they didn't know what they were, or they'd put them in fish sauce, or give us dried crushed red pepper...we started growing our own Thai peppers cuz of this lol

I've looked at their negative reviews and a few of them have the restaurant answering back about calling their lawyer, or other crazy stuff...not a good look

5 stars for this incredible Thai food. Very fresh, and with a full vegan menu as well. Great for take out, small storefront not many tables.

Thai orchid has never been the same after they moved . The owner was completely disrespectful I will not be coming here again and neither will my friends or family . Get it together Thai orchid and make better food

Everything is to go as of March 2021, when I was there. They gave us everything we needed to have a little picnic in the park! Great food and nice people working there.

Excellent Pad Thai, and pineapple fried rice. Become one of our regular stops for the two.

Delicious Pad Thai!

I love this place. I think it may the very first place that I ever tried Thai food at. Well? It's still here and it's still wonderful. I'm happy to see they are moving to a better location.

We moved to Salem right at the start of the pandemic from Seattle. Not the best time to learn about your new community and experience all of the dining options. We've been searching for a good Thai restaurant and have had disappointment after disappointment. Finally, Thai Orchid hit the target. The flavors were more authentic Thai / Vietnamese than the Panda Expressy type of Asian that is all-too-often served up at other Thai joints. My only complaint was that the food was a bit too oily than I would prefer.

Very big peices. Daily specials. Nice people. It was delicious.

Food was god awful for the amount I paid almost 20$ for a dish of pad Thai (with tip) Food was cold and way to much salt was added. Asked for a refund and “owner” proceeded to say he can only exchange for another dish but after that experience I lost my appetite. There’s a lot better out there as in value and price!

The pad thai with scallops was the most bland and flavorless I have ever had. The chicken potstickers were amazing however.

I miss their pineapple fried rice and their tom kha!!! So good

Love Thai Orchid, especially now during social distancing, their food is just as delicious in take-out as it is dine-in, and so convenient that that they provide their own in-house delivery! Faster service, and supports local business!

Ordered 3 items totalling $60 for pick-up. Got it home and none of our order had sauce of any kind on it. Just boxes of steamed veggies and meat, steamed rice, and plain rice noodles. Very unimpressed. Will not be going back.

The food was fantastic, the atmosphere is comfortably casual, and our server was friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be back!

Y'all don't know what fine Thai food is as there is zero in Salem!
I dined her to treat myself to a special birthday dinner. I should have known better as the elevators where out of service.
I ordered pad Thai which tasted fishy I should have sent it back. My waitresses suggestion was to smother it in peanut sauce. Did not help and ruined the dish!.
I spent over $20 and asked for my money back. They refused and said they did not have a policy for refunds. That is total B.S. and horrible business practices! I will never eat hear again. Must travel to PDX for great Thai food!!!
