Authentic and flavorful Lao-Thai food made to perfection that will make you feel like you are in Laos or Thailand!
I have been struggling to find a good Thai restaurant in South Salem. Every other place has been really inconsistent. I got my order to go. I had the pumpkin curry with shrimp. There was a generous amount of shrimp, which were quite large and I really like the pumpkin chunks. My daughter got the chicken satay and ate all of them. So no complains from her. Will definitely be going back to this place.
catching up on reviewing my favorite places in town. there are so many thai places in salem. honestly i will probably never go to them because this one and the one nearby are both excellent. this one is my favorite of the two because the menu is enormous and everything we have tried has been excellent, like this tilapia red curry.
I came across this place on Maps and immediately saw Pho and Samosas on their menu. My S/O agreed that we needed to give this a shot! For 5pm on a Friday, there was only one other couple in the place when we got there; the spot is right beside the Dollar Tree plaza off Commercial and is actually deceptively large inside.
Service was exceptional; the girl that helped us was polite, attentive and checked in the appropriate amount without making us feel smothered. We ordered the Pho, Thai Samosas, Peanut Lover Sauce Chicken and a Thai Ice Tea. The Pho came out the fastest at around 5 minutes, while the rest came out about 4 minutes later. Less than 10 minute wait for an entire meal is exceptional in our eyes!
The Thai Samosas went exceptionally well with the clear "sour" sauce they provided and was a really unique touch in something you'd otherwise consider Indian - definitely recommend them!
The Pho was solid - not the best we've had by far - but definitely solid. Hands down the sleeper of the Pho was the rice noodles. We both agree that Lanxang have the best rice noodles we've EVER had, period. My S/O couldn't stop devouring the noodles!
The Peanut Sauce Lover was REALLY good though - exceptional sauce that tasted what it should be and didn't have an awkward sour aftertaste like most attempts at peanut sauce have. The cabbage was fresh and crunchy, the broccoli and carrots were good - all around this was damn good for peanut sauce.
Price to portion ratio too was really good - our entire meal cost $42. All in all we would definitely recommend Lanxang as it's currently our best Thai restaurant in the area, and we plan to return to try some more of their cuisine.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
It wasn’t bad. The spring roll are acceptable, they use the package veggie you can buy from store rather than fresh veggies, it’s kinda sad tho but it taste okay.
The drinks are average, as usual I don’t like Thai coffee, but yes I like Thai ice tea but they are nothing special.
We ordered takeout on Christmas Day and I was immediately impressed. The phone was answered promptly and our food was ready quickly. And it was all delicious! Definitely try the Thai yellow curry; it’s a new favorite now.
The pad thai is made with ketchup instead of tamarind. We even asked at checkout if it was made with ketchup. Not my taste but if you don’t mind the substitution then you might be okay with it.
I love this restaurant . They have a lot of dishes to choose from but I really like Pad Thai and PHO Noodles.

Food was very fresh and tasty. Pad Kee Mao and Tom Kha soup were both great.
The place was ok, food was ok, but nothing special, service was so so, basically everything was about average, strip mall quality, there are better places in town.

Parking a pan but food & service great, tkx
Food is great. Service is good, the English speaking girl was super friendly & made dining in very nice.
Ordered Red Curry Chicken and salad rolls. The curry was incredible. I have a feeling that anything I order in the future will be just as good! So fresh and authentic.
This place is fantastic! Little hole in the wall Thai place, I'm personally addicted to their Tom Kha with tofu. Insanely good soup. I never write reviews, but I had to shout them out, everything I've tried has been fantastic and they're always so welcoming and kind.
Amazing service!!!

Excellent Food/Excellent Service - Very Friendly People- 5 Stars Thai ⭐️
Eaten here many times and it's by far the best Thai place in town. I've not had a bad dish yet.
Ordered pad lao with pork. They gave me chicken. It tastes good but is it soo hard to get an order right? It not just this place so it is becoming irritating. I guess before I take my food I will have to take it apart and check it.
The flavor was OK. They forgot to add the spice, lime, and peanuts to my pad Thai :( I requested all three. Probably won’t come back.
Very friendly, good service. The food was excellent 👌🏻
Good Beef Noodle Soup and excellent Thai tea
Very yummy food and good prices. Service was super friendly and fast. Some of the best Tom Kha and Thai Iced Coffee I've had yet! Parking lot is a bit tight, but the food is amazing and there are lots of vegetarian options. Would highly recommend and will visit again when in Salem.
Friendly service, great prices, outstanding food.
Great food. Great prices. Great family run restaurant. AND even better this time!!
I ordered pineapple fried rice with extra beef, coconut prawns, and a Thai iced coffee for takeout
I received chicken pineapple fried rice instead
The food was good, just wish I got what I ordered.
Great flavor. Tastes fresh. Prompt service. Clean atmosphere.

Love it here, service is very good. The food is bomb!!!!. Definitely should come here busssinnnn😍
Casual dining establishment with amazing food! So far, my favorites are the yellow curry and the drunken noodles. Prices are reasonable and the flavors delicious. I bought takeout last night and came back again today!
Best Thai food in Salem. Amazing food and the staff are the best.
Update June 2024: This place changed hands amidst COVID and I think may have changed hands again. A couple years ago I was still agreeing with my old review from six years ago, but upon my most recent visit things had noticeably been subpar. Food wasn't as tasty as I recall, was not asked how spicy I wanted it (they used to ask on a scale of 1-5, I'd always get 5), the water tasted soapy, and the inside is boring now. The menu has had more items added, and they now have desserts which they used to not have any. They have also added peanut sauce which was decent but I don't foresee myself returning unfortunately. Sad because this was one of the best restaurants in Salem.
Original 5-star review: Amazing. I love to go here. The servers are always friendly, and the service is always quick, even when it's busy. The food is great, especially the curries. If you've never been before, I recommend the Pho Beef Noodle (a noodle entree, not a curry entree). The water is always VERY cold and refreshing. The color of the walls and the decor make it a rather soothing atmosphere. There is a large TV inside that shows sports and music videos, which is quite entertaining.
Amazing food. Great service !! Will be back!
Best Thai food!! Super friendly staff!
So glad I found this place. They have the best fried rice with pork and peanut sauce lovers with chicken.
I came here because Applebee’s didn’t have any one able to get service to my table for quite a while, they were too full, and I was in a hurry. I happened to see this place in same complex and came here and ordered a stirfry and they had it ready in five minutes and it was absolutely excellent and fresh. Plus nice relaxing music and beautiful restaurant and wonderful service. And the chef even came and introduced himself. Will be back!
Friendly staff and excellent food!
This is a place I look forward visiting again! The peanut sauce lover and fried rice dishes are really good! Id recommend this place to any who love Thai food to give it a try! 👍
Love their food! Also, try their Thai tea and Thai green tea!
The food is delicious and the service is quick. Wonderful papaya salad and green curry!
Good food and portion sizes, always friendly service. Great for lunch special
The food was alright. Beer was good sad thing was we got the coconut shrimp appetizer and in the menu says it comes with 6 pieces of avocado. It came without the avocado and when I questioned her she said it doesn't come with avocado although the menu clearly states that it does. 😕
I have been eating here for a few years. Changed ownership and now I am not too happy with the food. The prices are higher. Garlic veggies were bland and the salad rolls had one small piece of shrimp with peanut sauce that was bland. Since new owners I have ordered 3 times and I'm still not happy with the taste of the food. If you like authentic flavourful Thai you may not like this place - otherwise not bad.
Go-to for Thai coffee, good food and efficient service any time I am in Salem. Love to visit.
Es muy buena la comida y la gente muy simpáticos. Siempre sirven la comida muy rapido, pero no sabe cómo comida rapida. Sí iy algo que no nos gusta lo cambian de bolada y con una sonrisa.
I really love this place! The staff is so kind and the food is always quick to be served. The food tastes fresh, does not taste like fast food. They always check in to make sure everything is good. If there is anything wrong they go above and beyond to fix it!
Okay I rated the atmosphere 5 stars but only because the food is soooo good it deserves every single star, butttt the spot definitely doesn’t give “fancy dinner date” vibes. BUT THE FOOD 🤤 I live in Portland and i have considering driving back to Salem just for their curry. Best Thai food I have EVER had and it was cheap! Alsooo their curry does not contain fish sauce, making the base vegan!
My favorite of the Thai places in South Salem. Well made and consistent.
Dine in experience is okay, usually just one person on wait staff so if it's (rarely) busy, you may have some delays, but usually it's fairly empty.
Its quiet. Its pretty quick and delicious. Got their massaman curry. Next time ill get their khao soy!
Delicious food this restaurant is the best Drunken Noodles,Pad Thai , Lanzang fried rice,Larb Chicken
Aside from their food tasting good, their customer service is excellent! I've been ordering from them for years, and this is the only time I'm adding a review because I really appreciate what they did. I made a mistake with my order through DoorDash 30 minutes before their closing time. When I checked, it said it was for pickup, and we couldn't pick it up that night. So, I called them to ask if they could put our food in the fridge, and I would pick it up the next day. When I picked it up, they made new calamari and pad thai for me. So nice. It wasn't even their mistake in the first place.
I did a walk-in order for appetizers on Christmas evening and I cannot wait to go back. We ordered the samosas and crab wonton, both were great. The samosas had flaky, buttery crust and came with a sweet and sour sauce which was clear and thin with chopped cucumbers and peppers- I ended up eating it by itself it was so good. Everything on the menu looks amazing, don't sleep on this place!
The best curry noodles I have ever had.
Very good food.
This is absolutely one of go-to spots in Salem! Whether dining, to go, or delivery - the quality is always consistently delicious, wonderful depth of flavor, and a feast for the senses! Dining in offers such charming, attentive service and beautifully plated food. We highly recommend!
We love Lanxang! Best Thai food in the Salem area hands down!
Ordered pad thai and got it without any spice despite requesting it. Tastes so bland without any spice. Will never order from here again.
Larb is one of my favorites and Lao style is the best for beef. The difference from using ground beef or cutting steak into tiny little slices similar to ground beef is 100% noticable.(they have since I wrote this got new owners and it's no longer this way they use ground beef now) still have amazing food so you get to keep my review mostly for a reminder. You should make it this way again!
Great food nice employees, I'm going to miss the food when I move.
Real authentic Laotian food will be back when traveling through
This is the first time I've tried the food since ownership has changed. Sadly our food was mediocre. Was hoping that the recipes would have transfered, but that's not what I found. Had my favorite "drunken noodle" 😐
Probably not going back.
We love this place as a take out place. We are in once and while the service was great, the location is less than desirable. The food always quick and hot. It is our go to for Thai in this area.
I have eaten here so many times and will continue. Such delicious food and wonderful service!! Thank you!
DELICIOUS 10/10 RECOMMEND. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the potstickers, chicken fried rice and chicken pho. It was delicious flavors, great serving sizes (we got full & still had left overs). We highly recommend eating here for the best Thai in Salem! We want to go again to try more of the options!
Wonderful service. The Larb was exceptional especially with the homemade chili fishsauce brought fresh to our table. The shrimp drunken noodles were the best I have had in Salem. The chef was friendly and really showed care in the preparation of our food.
Ordered on Uber Eats. This is our first time trying this restaurant and we were delighted. Food was so fresh. Veggies were perfectly crisp and tender. We had the Drunken Noodle, Pad Garlic, Pad Basil. All were excellent! We will order again!
We drive from Albany to Salem and back for their food. Consistently flavorful and fresh … soooo good. I was amazed at how good their Tom Kha Gai soup is - the best I’ve had, and I’ve eaten Thai dishes all over Oregon and Washington. The people at this restaurant are super nice .. the food is excellent .. can’t ask for more!
Good very good! Best chicken satay I've ever had in my life!
Main course wasn’t bad. Got the combo appetizer platter and my fresh rolls had tofu that was old and stale it seemed. The cream cheese wontons had NO cream cheese. All meat. And the mango sticky rice was salty, the mango was not ripe at all and I bit into it like an apple.. seems like a nice enough place but doesn’t seem like much effort went into our meal.
My go to spot for Thai food! Always delicious
My newest favorite Thai restaurant! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the prices are reasonable.
Since moving back to Salem after a 30+ year hiatus, I was scared that I wouldn't be able to find great Thai food... then after much trial and error came across this place.
Don't hesitate to try them out. You won't regret it.
We ordered food to-go. It was ready when we arrived and was absolutely delicious.
We honestly didn’t know what to expect when we came here, we just knew we wanted Thai and the reviews were good. I have eaten Thai food in Thailand, and all over America. This place has the most authentic delicious Thai food I have ever had in the states. Unfortunately we are not from Salem, but when we are here, we won’t eat anywhere else. 🤩 Thank you so much for such a delicious meal.
This is a place you go to eat pretty good Thai food.
They have a scale of heat from 1 to 5, low to high spicy. I have an average spicy tolerance, and 4 wasn't too bad.
The good quality of the shrimp is worth mentioning, because so often these Chinese places have poor to medium quality shrimp. Nice to see that here, and the food is not too greasy.
It's fresh and healthy food, good tasting, good quality Thai Food at a reasonable price. I would recommend this place to friends or family.
Favorite Thai food in Salem! All the soups and appetizers are great.
The meal was great and a great value for the price, the staff were very attentive and friendly. They are now under new ownership and it shows :)
Quite possibly the best Thai food I've ever had, and the people who run the restaurant are so kind!
Awesome people. Great food. Speedy service. I love it here. 5 stars!
This is still a great spot for a quick bite
Run of the mill ... slow service
Really liked the Lanxang Salad. However the chicken breast meat was a little tough to chew. It may have been over cooked. Breast meat for the Satay was perfectly done.
I’ve never eaten anything off this menu that wasn’t delicious. Love the satay, crab puffs to start. Excellent flavors.
It's the food! Excellent green curry. Yum!
LOVE this place! Yummyliscious! And the portions are huge...best Thai in Salem, hands down!
Fresh and tasty.
We really enjoyed this place even under new ownership. We had to adjust to the change in the flavors. I dropped down my rating by one star to four stars. I wish they would add a choice of increasing the egg amount in dishes that have egg as in the pad thai. Truly, when I asked for extra egg I really do want to see extra egg. Their peanut sauce is wonderful.
Absolutely delicious!
Best Thai food in Salem.
Love this place. It’s just good food. Nothing special, no secret grandma’s sauce, just solid basic American Thai food made really well. Fantastic owners. Consistent food. If you want super spicy make sure you let them know. I am right and everyone who posted lower is wrong!
We went to this place for the first and the last time. We ordered drunken noodles with beef. The beef was uncooked and the noodles were very saggy. Poor service. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone.
This is my favorite Thai food place in Salem. They have the best Beef Larb, Chicken Satay and Fresh Spring Rolls! They are always welcoming and friendly!
Great food!
Excellent food, friendly service, broad menu, and ample portions makes this a go-to restaurant for us. My wife and I think the salad rolls(appetizer) are the best we have had. We tried the lunch specials for $9.99 each, there was lots of food including two pot stickers per plate. . Parking is easy, closed Mondays and 3 to 4 daily.
This is a no-frills hole in the wall restaurant with reasonable prices and excellent food. I love the fresh spring rolls with tofu and peanut sauce. The veggies are always fresh.
Our only complaint is that there are generally homeless folks loitering outside, but to be fair, the location/lower overhead allows for better than average prices. For us, the value for our money and excellent food makes it worth the trip.
Wonderful service and awesome food!
We were very impressed how good the food is. Very friendly people.
Always delicious
The beauty in presentation is beyond the realm only to be surpassed by the foods quality, freshness, and flavors. We had to take photos. It was so awesome it made us happy and crazy every bite. Avocado and mango unbelievable. Owners wonderful people and hardworking you never see places so clean.
Ordered from here 2 times now and it’s so freaking good!! You have to try the larb and the papaya salad! Also take note that their food is spicy, I usually like 4/5 stars at Thai restaurants and I thought I was being modest at 3 but I could finish it because it was too spicy but I ordered a 2 the second time and it was perfect!
Green papaya salad was refreshingly spicey. Asked for thai spicey once they said they were said they use fresh peppers ( not dried red flakes). Pad Prik was wonderful with the roasted pepper flavor. My mouth was happy!
Saltiest Thai Food ever.
Fresh and hot food. Very delicious.
I came here looking for a meal, instead I fell in love
Great grub!
What an amazing find in strip mall.
Every dish is beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients and an attention to detail.
A true taste of traditional Thai food.
Plenty of dish variations are available for people with specific dietary requirements.
The fresh spring rolls, Tom Yum soup and duck are stand-outs.
Can't wait to come back.
I gave it a try for the first time today. I got their crab rangoons and bbq pork. It was Amaazzzzzziiinggggg!
Me encanta
Continuously consistent good food and great service. Customer since they opened many years ago. Miss the music videos on the TV 🤣
Nothing to brag about as far as atmosphere, but the food is amazing!
Always a pleasant experience, I tried their green Thai tea, very nice.
The best fresh spring rolls I've ever had. Came with warmed up peanut sauce with excellent flavor and a zingy sweet and sour sauce. Perfect combo with the little Thai samosas- loved the tangy cucumber sauce, which was also delicious on the spring rolls.
The food is good they give you your money's worth, even the chef greets you, very humble and tranquil place. I'm on a vegan journey and this delicious meal it's the eggplant basil! It's mouth wateringly delicious, I'm a very picky eater by nature, and every dish I've had has been delicious, bonus exceptional personable service something you don't experience in a lot of places these days!!!!!
We have ordered multiple times from this place, the yellow curry is amazing a little spicy but just right. The drunken noodles are great, and of course the pad Thai is amazing. The portions are big enough to split into multiple meals.
Fresh, hot, best Thai food I've eaten in town. Super friendly family owned business. I won't go anywhere else. Amazing food!
Love it! Their rice is the BEST!
The Pho is our favorite comfort food. It’s the best we’ve had in Salem!
Their Tom yum soup and their mango fried rice add basil was so yummy. Their Thai iced tea was sweet and good. Friendly staff all around.
We used to love this place, but it seems that they recently changed owners. Food is NOT the same, will not be coming back. :(
We have had a lot of different Thai food. This place has taken the crown as our favorite. Fresh, perfect balance of flavors and spice. We will be back, any time we are in area. Our favorite Thai food.
Sadly the dining room feels like a cafeteria. Bright lights, tables in rows, and dry storage. The food was decent and nice people. Get take out.
Great little "hole in the wall" place with delicious food, generous portions, excellent air conditioning, wonderful service, and a wide menu. The decor is simple and the restaurant is very clean. The owners are kind and gracious, and glady made menu accommodations for me. This place is a hidden treasure!
Best Thai food in the City of Salem, OR 😋
Love their chicken satay! They are moist and flavorful. The peanut sauce is aromatic and creamy. Perfect combination!
I also love their papaya salad-
Som Tum, it’s absolutely refreshing and delicious. Just like how I had this dish in Thailand!
Tofu larb is also good. My vegetarian friend loves that the tofu was crispy. The flavor is well balanced. Those fresh mint leaves, onion, cabbage and chilli lime sauce is accompanying well with hot stick rice.
Best curry in town. Also a great appetizer sampler for groups.
Amazing food; a restaurant that had us talking about how fantastic it was for the entire drive home. We had the standard green curry (fresh and perfectly simmered veggies) and the Khao Soi (curry noodles). Both had such an incredible flavor; the curry noodles had crispy noodles as well, so there was a lot of great textural variety. Unique and awesome!
Service was VERY friendly, and I loved the chef's enthusiasm. If you want to go somewhere people are lovingly SHARING THEIR CULTURE through food, go here. We will be back!
Honestly, my family has gone here for at least 10 years, and the food is comforting and delicious, always has been. I never post reviews but I have never had a bad experience with the food here, and they deserve the credit of being in my opinion the best Thai place in Salem.
Hands down the BEST Thai food in salem. Love love love their peanut sauce, fresh salad rolls, pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles! The owner is sooo nice and welcoming. Big fan of this place and won’t go anywhere else!
Great green curry and Thai ice tea!
Just ordered from DoorDash- Absolutely the best chicken satay! Pad Thai, yummy peanut sauce, yellow curry...all so delicious! Support this place! They're wonderful! We cannot wait to try more of the menu!
Friend & I just finished 2 lunch specials: perfect flavors, meal size for the afternoon. Thai iced tea is great!
They have been open 2 months now, under new owners.
Drunken Noodle had good flavor but we didn't enjoy the stir-fried, 6" piece of plastic wrap. A little dry, could have used more sauce from the pan.
Duck Basil Fried Rice had good flavor, perhaps a little dry (at least compared to the way I prepare fried rice) but the biggest flaw was the egg shells.
Orange chicken not great, chicken tasted good but too chewy and dried out. Veggies were pretty good, we did not enjoy the pool of water in the bottom of the dish.
On the positive side, the staff was friendly and courteous.
Great food but make sure you let them know if you can't do spicy because it will be hot!
So satisfying 😌 and very big portions, I will definitely be going again.
My first time having thai food and it was AMAZING.. 10 out of 10 I’ll eat here again💯
Seriously, one of the best Thai places I've ever been to, and I've been to many!
The owners and staff are super friendly, and the portion sizes are great! Highly recommend the pad kee mao! You won't be disappointed! Pad Thai was also great. Can't wait to try more things on the menu!
The food here is so good. I plan on working my way through as many dishes as I possibly can. Hands down the best Lao-Thai food in Salem.
Great drunken noodles. Sticky rice also made perfectly. Always very friendly.
Great ma and pop Thai food!
Absolute favorite Thai restaurant! I’ve been going here for over 10 years. Love the pad Thai and pineapple fried rice.
Absolutely AMAZING!! the best thai food ive ever had. The employees are so sweet and caring, always putting smiles on peoples faces and showing their love through their food. This is my to go place now forever.
The best Lao-Thai cuisine in town!! The food is fresh daily with plenty of flavor that will have you craving for more. You will never leave there hungry that's for sure. My favorite place!!❤❤
This is the best Thai food I’ve ever had! I had pineapple curry and my husband had green curry. Spice level was perfect, veggies were FRESH and i felt energized after my meal! Super affordable too!
Great food and great service.
Some of the best teriyaki beef in town.
Would highly recommend.
Good size portions, decent price. Service was acceptable, bathroom and restaurant were clean. The pineapple in my food tasted really funky which was a major disappointment, it's usually my favorite part of pineapple fried rice. Be careful with how much spice you get in your food, it has a bit more kick than most Thai restaurants I've been to. You can add more but not remove it once it's in your food.
Fast service, food on point
I’ll be back for more delicious food ;)
Food was good. Online said open till 3. 2:16 right now and they're not open. Must be consistent with hours if they want business. Going to Mina's...
Their signature Lan Xang Beef is DELICIOUS! A fine mixture of additional fresh ingredients: green beans, tomatoes, onions and scallions in a delectably flavorful sauce that goes perfectly with their jasmine rice: soft, never dry. And definitely order the Tom Yum Soup with Prawns! NOT sour! Full of flavors of lemongrass, galangal and ginger so perfect immunity promoting soup! So much more to go try on the menu! Don't miss this gem in Salem!
Love it!
Literally the best place in town for everything on the menu. You have to try the Sweet Mango rice!!
You all have to try this place!!!!!!!!!!
