Thai food, vegan available, gluten free, no MSG
I love everything about this restaurant! The location, the atmosphere, the decoration, the service, the food, and the ambience are all fantastic.
Ordering is easy and the staff is always friendly. I've always had a great experience here and I order several times a month from them.
cute place with pretty good food! sukho thai noodle soup is really good, i like the sourness and the spicy combination and the pinions and bean sprouts add a crunchy texture to the soft noodles! the basil fried rice is really fragrant and i love the way the chicken was cooked!
I don't know if theyre just stingy with coconut milk or have not quite right recipes, but my friend from Vietnam had to complain to get more in her soup too so its not just me. Many places serve bad watery Panang curry so i stick with it when one doesnt and its nice and whitish peach (coconut milky!) color instead of watery orangey.
I only do a review if something happens more than twice because I loved this place, but its upset me on some bad days i went here for comfort food, they keep messing up, putting the wrong ingredients in takeout orders, and dining in it went wrong also. Rubbery, not fresh chicken. So im going elsewhere for a long while now, i hope it improves for whenever we try again
Had an impromptu lunch with our daughters as we passed through town. Although when we walked in there was a man causing a sene, the staff kept it together, and offered amazing service, and food! Thank you to a few regulars and my husband they defused the situation and enjoyed our time! Highly recommend trying this place!!!
A nice place with very good food and friendly service. It was a little pricey, but not outrageous. I had the orange chicken ($18) Overall, the place is definitely worth a visit!

My favorite place in Sellwood. Literally never misses.
Best Thai food I've ever had, excellent service, quality ingredients, can't say enough about this place, its fantastic!
Best drunken noodles n garlic pepper chicken around nice staff
This is the BEST Thai food restaurant ever! Plus itβs small friendly and local. Hospitality is 5-stars!
Great food! Friendly and fast service! 100 out of 10
Everything we ordered was delicious!!!

Great service and the food was so good. The mango margarita was the best! You can thank me later, This spot is worth the trip for sure!

I've driven past so many times, finally stopped in. My son and I shared kham tot (?) that was so good! We're heading there for take-out today!

Great food and kind staff, what more could you want? Their Singapore noodles are amazing and a must have dish. Give this a try and you wonβt regret it!
This place has the most amazing people working there. They truly helped our family out in a very difficult time.
The food is also amazing! I would give 10 stars if I could. So many options and flavor profile is spot on!!
This is by far the worst restaurant.I have ever been to in my life. Not only did I wait there for over an hour for food. I was told at the end of that hour. Oh, somebody might have taken it. It'll be ready in ten minutes at which point they never made it again And not only did I wait there for over an hour on food? I lost an order and did not get paid.So it costs me money and time. And the employee there was so disrespectful and she came out to say somebody might have taken it at the end of my hour when I tried explaining to her and asking what was going on and why she cut me off and said "you have two options wait ten minutes or cancel". This is by far the worst place.I have ever been to ever in eighteen states.
Only ones there. Great food. Delay in service?
Have been several times and always yummy. Offer everything gluten free which is awesome. Friendly service too. Last time, it was unbearably spicy (I ordered medium) and both my husband and I got extra sick. The only thing we both ate the same that day was the beef from here and we both got food poisoning. Iβm so disappointed because I used to really like this place. I hope they can learn from this.
I went in with co-workers today for lunch. OMG! I loved it and will definitely go back.
This place is one of my favorites in Portland and is my go to. I usually order takeout but ate in the restaurant tonight and had an excellent experience. I brought visitors from out of town and all of our food was spectacular. The Singapore noodles are my favorite dish. We also enjoyed the papaya salad, salad rolls, and mango sticky rice. Everything is super fresh. I highly recommend this as some of Portlandβs best Thai!
Great Thai food. Love their curries.
Ive been to thai places all over the country, i was shocked today to get the most flavorful, moist, delicious pineapple fried rice ive ever had in my life.
their panang is also perfectly delectable! So happy we tried this spot.
Only downside was they had sad slow music on, not the best vibe for eating out but maybe they usually play more fun stuff
Excellent chicken pad Thai and mango margaritas ππΈClarissa is our favorite server!
Very nice and food was great as well as the service...
Beautiful place, easy access, and nicest service.
They use fresh ingredients without too much oil. My favorite Thai place in Sellwood for sure and always a go-to when we canβt decide what to do for dinner.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Also, really good cocktails.
Great little spot for some good food. I enjoy the panang
Excellent food at this place! Some of the best Thai around. Generous portions. May be under new ownership.

The food here is always great! I used to drive from the NW Portland neighborhood to eat here all the time. Now, I just live closer. Lucky me!
Meh. Simple, plain Pad Thai. Got takeout, failed to provide napkins or chopsticks.
We had pad kra pao with chicken and garlic & pepper with beef and crispy egg rolls. All in all flavors were good and food was fresh. I enjoyed the food, staff was friendly and would eat there again which is why it gets 5 star but I do have some preferences.
Outside of egg roll was perfect but inside was slightly mushy. Maybe some longer square shredded ingredients would help firm up the consistency. I enjoy pepper flakes in the sweet and sour sauce.
The pad ka pao was good but I prefer it with minced meet instead of sliced and I wish the oyster/fermented fish sauce flavors were much more present. Overall this was pretty sweet but I think the salty umami flavors of the fish sauce would balance the sweetness.
The garlic pepper dish was delicious. Again on the sweet side but overall very nicely prepared. Not the largest servings which I actually appreciate because I feel most Thai restaurants in America over portion.
After 3 years in Portland, I may have found a GOOD Thai food place. Spicy eggplant wasn't too sweet! (a first in Portland) And the peanut sauce was well done. Can't wait to try more dishes.
Just had dinner at Thai Square. This is the best Thai food Iβve had in Portland since Bangkok Kitchen stopped trying. The people are gracious, the decor is fun and well considered, and the menu extensive and reasonably priced. For those who worry about spice, just order none or mild or spicy. Itβs Thai food. Expect and respect Thai flavors. They also offer take-out.
Lots of gluten free options.
Really awesome staff, super good food and really cute restaurant
Great place.... Love it.
Me and my friends had an absolutely horrible experience. Never coming here again. The waitress was rude and not attentive. We sat there for one hour waiting for someone to take our order. She didnβt even serve us water. She went and attended to other white customers who came after us, and left us hanging. As the only POC at the place, we strongly felt like this behavior was racially charged. Unfortunately we had to leave.
Great Thai food. After visiting Thailand, it's the closest to the real deal we've found.
Coconut shrimp, yellow curry, drunken noodles π
Excellent pad see ew and pineapple fried rice!! Let a friend here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the cool interior and great service. This is definitely a contender for my go-to Thai spot.
Friendly staff. I wish I still lived in the neighborhood, I'd be a regular for sure. Worth the drive.
Way over priced. Small portion. Not good tasting at all, At least the pineapple fried rice. Crispy rolls were decent. Over priced and the chicken was gross.
This place never disappoints! The crispy rolls and chicken sate and everything else we tried get 5 stars!
Cheerful dining room. Fresh, thoughtfully prepared dishes. Tasty!
Food was terrible
Delicious food that you all must try.
Iβve been too many different places in wilsonville and Beaverton. But, this place is the best. Iβm suprise that all dishes are really good. Not too salty not too bland. Definitely coming back.
Delicious healthy, satisfying thai food.
Their staff is lovely.
They make my food gluten free and to my preference
Super quick, and tasty! We ordered online for pickup and it was easy and ready quicker than estimated! The space seemed cozy and cool, and the staff was friendly. Next time weβll probably dine in to check it out more.
The food is great. Yellow curry is my favorite menu. The price is reasonable. Staff here is friendly and informative.
Everything on the menu is delicious!! Really flavorful soups and sauces, I highly recommend their tom yum, but honestly you canβt go wrong. Itβs a cute place too, unique decor. Thai Square is one of my favorite restaurants! π₯°
Fantastic food
Waaaaaaay better than the other Thai Restaurant in Sellwood (that seems to be the most popular but doesn't make sense to me.)
Great service, atmosphere is very cool, the food was tremendous.
Awesome food and excellent service!
So good. Iβve tried about half the menu. I keep going back because they havenβt missed yet. Great service, great prices, outstanding flavor. I usually use pad Thai as a benchmark for a Thai place and theirs is excellent. Same with curries, soups, rices, and stir fry. So happy this is in my neighborhood and I have easy access to exceptional Thai food like this
Decent service. Tough biz. But probably won't go here again. Very small portion for what I paid.
Amazing, fresh, flavorful. Can choose level of spiciness and extra veg, meat. Best Thai Ive ever had.
This is really good Thai food. Every dish was flavorful and fresh. Great they had plenty of gluten free options too.
First visit for take out. I found everything wonderful. Maddie K took my order and was cheerful and sweet. The food was ready in a timely fashion. The Massaman Curry is stellar, fresh salad roll delicious and the peanut sauce divine.
Too expensive for what is served.
Really fun decor, friendly staff, and a solid menu of well known Thai dishes
Bland food with a burnt taste. Not satisfied.
Hey you guys, just wanted to let you know that your coconut shrimp and drunken noodles where THE BEST ever!!! Also ordered some kind of a magical salad with steak, cucumber, carrot, green onion and a whole lot of blow my mind freshness! We donβt live in PDX, but might consider living here after tonight!
Need a location in Bend please! π€
Thai Square has been my go-to Thai restaurant for years. The food is consistently good, and their staff is friendly and accommodating.
Amazing service, the food tastes just perfect. Definitely on my favorite list.
I had the delicious and fresh pineapple fried rice, which I ordered vegetarian. All of the vegetables were cooked perfectly, crispy crunchy but not raw. The staff are friendly, pleasant, and helpful.
I liked this place, cute vibe and good food, not overly expensive. They brought our food out quickly and were friendly.
We used to love this restaurant but itβs gone downhill since the new ownership. The food took significantly longer than estimated. I sat in my car for the additional 15 minutes she estimated then came back in and sat at the bar for the additional 20 minutes. Would have been good to be offered water or acknowledged. When other customers came in to pick up their order, she would say βitβs not readyβ and turn away. She was unfriendly and to top it all off, our order was wrong. See ya, Thai Square!
Everything Iβve ordered has been incredibly flavorful and delicious! The tom kha is some of the best Iβve tried, and and their lemongrass chicken is one of my favorites as a pad thai dish or on its own. I also appreciate their commitment to eco friendly to-go boxes!
We just had the best cashew nut chicken and pumpkin curry weβve ever had. New owner is an awesome young woman who is putting together some really stunning dishes.
Tonight she was serving a new dessert that was a deep fried banana with some fig and coconut (I think) in a crispy wrap with high quality ice cream and chocolate sauce.
Excellent peanut sauce too.
Good food and even better service! The space is cute and the owner is very kind. Great new spot, highly recommend.
Update: New owners, apparently not using original. Chef Lee Chen's recipes. Very disappointed. Hope Chef Chen starts cooking again sometime soon.
Incredible Thai dishes, seasoned and sauced perfectly. Recommend the eggplant, spicy basil, larb, and pad Thai. Best Thai we've had, not only in the Portland area, but in general!
If they tell you 15 mins on an order, they mean 30. Never have I not waited longer than the estimated time for my food. The food is good at least. So when they answer the phone, cuz sometimes they dont, add 10 mins to your wait time before you leave and save yourself the hassle of standing inside during a pandemic waiting for ffood to be ready "any minute now"
Their food is so flavorful and delicious! Best pumpkin curry in town. They have excellent noodle dishes and a lot of vegan options! I always bring my guests here.
Pretty darn good Thai food... And Portland has a lot of Thai food. Consistently my go to for complex flavors that don't disappoint.
Great drunken noodle!
Would be nice if they were not closed for online orders (pickup or delivery)1hr after they open.
Been this way for several weeks. Phone just rings and then hangs up. Get all the way through online ordering and then says not taking orders. Open again Sunday.
FOOD IS GREAT, just not able to get it.
Such limited hours too.
Hopefully can get an order in someday.
5 stars for food 1star for availability to order and get food.
The food here is great! I feel like I have more energy to take on my day after eating some of the fried rice than a cup of coffee can offer. Since I work with kids I'll take all the energy I can get!
Good thai food, huge portions, good prices.
Occasionally misses the mark on details. I've gotten onion skins (the half onion half skin kind) in my food. Missed an item once.
Still a great local thai place run by a family
As far as we knew, only two people were running the entire restaurant on a Saturday night. It did not end well.
Water not refilled after an hour and a half
Tables that had been empty for who knows how long were unbused
We got cold food
And most importantly, we were served raw shrimp
For those who enjoy happy surprises in the world of Portland's Thai restaurant scene, you may want to visit this place. Great food, great service, cute ambiance, AWESOME prices!
If you are craving some Thai food, totally recommend this place.
We ordered an H2, S03, and P3 for our first trip to Thai Square. Amazing, delicious, and flavorful. I am beyond excited to eat more dishes from here and the heat from the dishes is perfect. Normally I would want it hotter but it's perfect. Thank youThai Square! We will be back and we are bringing friends. Absolute hidden π.
I eat thai food at least once a month, have tried probably 30 of the local places, and Thai Square is one of, if not the best.
The owner wonβt honor his gift card that he promised after screwing up our order on my sisters birthday dinner. Sadly, she passed away a couple weeks ago and never got the chance to eat her meal she ordered!
Food was delicious and service was great. Will be coming back.
This place has good food and good service, but they no longer have any beer or wine. We have been going here for several years, but we won't be returning until they again have beer or wine available.
Best Thai food I have ever had. I have eaten Thai food in many major cities.. The food is always exceptional at Thai Square.
In my mind, this isn't just the best Thai restaurant in PDX, it's also one of the most underrated restaurants in the city. The ambience is super fun (great music and comic book art) and the location is really nice in Sellwood, but the true star of the show is the food.
Each appetizer - all of which are outstanding - is specifically paired with the exact right sauce, which reflects how carefully curated this menu is. The entrees are uniformly delicious and have a mix of classic dishes - lemongrass chicken pad thai, house friend rice, and the multitude of curries are all big winners for me - and more inventive specials. Portion sizes are mammoth, and prices are very reasonable.
I hesitate a bit to write this review, because I don't want to wait 45 min for a table, but this is the type of restaurant that deserves that level of attention. There are a ton of Thai restaurants in PDX and it's easy to get lost in the shuffle, but this one is head and shoulders above the rest.
We recently moved in to the neighborhood and went to this restaurant because it was very close to our house. I would go here even if it was across town. Excellent food, very friendly, and great bubble tea too!
Iβve only ordered take out, but theyβre quick, friendly and as far as Thai food goes pretty middle of the road. My main complaints would be the raw onions and greasiness I found with several dishes. Many of the dishes taste the same that shouldnβt (i.e Pad Thai tastes the same as drunken noodle and pad prik). Leaves something to be desired for sureβ¦
Holy wow mega yes and please. The flavor is so saturated, the colors so rich, generous with their portions, polite in their behavior + actions.
I... can't remember having better Thai than this, and I try Thai food everywhere I go. I'd drive 45min to get their food. It's so much better than most Thai food restaurants I question if I've ever actually had Thai food!
Yep, going here from now on.
Excellent Thai cuisine! The restaurant had many lush plants and a whimsical decor. Recommended.
Wife ordered my favorite dish, red curries chicken and beef. Wow. The best tasting curry I have ever tasted. Great price and portion too. You should order and try this place. You'd like it as much as I am. Thank you. My wife is planning to get me some curries from this place again on father's day.
Love this place!!
Moved to Denver 8 months ago, sorely miss Portland food scene. A friend recommended Thai Square. Sooooo good. I got the spicy basil chicken - wonderful. Son got the crispy chicken panang curry, wow, delicious! Wife got red curry w tofu, also very good. Best Thai since we left Portland!
I had the lemon grass chicken pad thai, the taste is more like yellow curry compared to pad thai. Since the taste doesn't match the food I was very disappointed. King Curry has a way better tasting lemongrass chicken pad thai and its just down the road from this place. I will not eat here again.
I have a big complaint about this place and itβs that itβs located so far from us because this is seriously the BEST Thai food I have ever had!!! My husband and I always get it whenever weβre in that part of town or visiting friends in the area. So so good!
Very good food
First time going to Thai Square, great service and even better food we had the chicken yakisoba and the Singapore noodles. Super fresh and delicious as was the Thai iced coffee. We will definitely be going back. Updated. Changed to a five *****. We had the Boat noodle soup and Pineapple fried rice, they were so delicious It's the best Fried rice and noodle soup dishes I've had in a really long time.
Yumalicious!
The best Thai anywhere.π
OMG. This is probably the best Thai food I have ever had... even compared to what I ate on a trip to Thailand! Their spice rating is no joke - even the medium spice level gets my nose running! My go-tos are the pumpkin curry and pad eggplant. Just the best!!
Thai Square mixes great food with a funky atmosphere. It's definitely a local favorite, both for dine-in and take-out. The owner is great, and has always been very friendly to us.
Service is hit or miss depending on whether you go during peak hours so for better service and a shorter wait, I'd recommend going before or after rush hour. If you do go during peak hours, plan ahead and prepare for extra wait time. It's usually worth it!
Best thai food I've had. We come back often!
Always great food, I highly recommend Pad Thai Boran, Pad See Ew, and Spicy Sukothai soup! Everything is always made perfectly and the employees are friendly
The best secret spot for Thai food in Portland. Great service and delicious food.
Every good good dinner
Definitely our favorite Thai place in the area.
Our favorite take out place!!!! Highly recommended! Their peanut sauce is simply the best in town!
Food is ok, way too spicy!!!!!! I asked for a little spicy!!! My mouth is on FIRE!!!!! I had to throw away the lemon grass pai thai!!!! I wont be back and if you ask for a little spicy it should mot feel like lava is in your mouth!!!!
Great summer rolls with peanut sauce!
Best thai place in Sellwood for sure
My favorite Thai restaurant. Excellent food and service.
My favorite place for Thai food in the whole city. When I'm craving Thai I don't even try other place anymore, I just go here. They win.
Delicious, fresh and quick with wonderful customer service.
The owner is so friendly he greets everyone that comes into the restaurant.. This place has some of the most loyal customers. You start to recognize them as you find yourself keep coming back for more.
It's definitely one the best and most flavorful thai restaurants. A consistent level of quality and fresh ingredients. A star in the Thai food category.
Good food, we ordered N1 and it had alot of seafood in it. Also got A2 they were really good, but for 1.50 each a little expensive.
huge delicious, perfectly prepared dishes for great prices..lovely atmosphere with a million plants & vintage super hero/comic posters...& sweet attentive service
LOVE this place
(we did go when there was no one else in the restaurant...reading other reviews i dont want to try rush hour π₯΄)
We ordered dinner from here this evening. There were several errors to our order that essentially amounted to the person taking our order not asking the appropriate questions. One entree was inedible and the two appetizers had one item each because as a new update you are required to state how many salad rolls you want. We contacted them to talk about the entree and were met with a lackluster response from the young man that answered. His response was "I should have clarified and I didn't." Then queue the longest awkward pause before he abruptly disconnected. For the price and the food quality there are much better locations close by you should visit before giving Thai Square your money.
I will go back decent prices food was tasty service a little slow but who's in a rush these days!!
Such good food! I went there two nights in a row. I think this is the best Thai restaurant I have ever eaten at!
Great food, friendly service. With Covid we order online and go pick up food.
I have eaten at around 12 different Thai places around Portland and this is hands down my favorite. I went back the next day and got the same thing (hot basil fried rice) and it was consistently good. Now I am making my way through the menu and loving it.
Thai square is by far our favorite Thai food restaurant in Portland. Great ingredients - always fresh coupled with excellent service. Charles Wickens
Food isnβt nearly as good as other local Thai places, though the portions are good. Last two times we had crummy service. We wonβt be back.
Friendly service and great food. I got the summer rolls and they were very fresh! I also got the pad see eiw and it was the best I have ever had.
Great Thai food! Super fresh and delicious. Service a little slow when busy but definitely worth it.
Very good food. They are very busy during lunch so be prepared to wait. Eclectic decor. We will be back!
When we are craving standard Thai fare in Portland we try to come here first. We love their Crispy Basil Chicken, Pad Thai, and Kao Soi. We also typically get their pineapple fried rice, it never disappoints! We live 20min away but we'll drive here almost every time! We've come for large groups (from what I remember we were about 12) and they did a great job with our orders and we got to try a bunch of different dishes and I would order all of them again. I just wish they would bring the Crispy Chicken Panang curry, it was amazing! We are now back to ordering the Crispy Basil Chicken.
The plants they have taken such care in arranging .the staff are super sweet and always take care to make our pad thai with whole lime just how we love!! THANK YOU EVERYONE!
Food and the comic book atmosphere is great! Best Thai in sellwoof
Very busy, lunch time,
Thai Square still managed to have great service and excellent quality of of food.
Great food and very polite service!
Delicious!! Enjoyed even the leftovers.
High quality ingredients, well prepared, great service
Extensive menu, wonderful food, nice comic book poster decor, terrific cook/owner & wonderful staff. Reasonably priced, even!
I like this place the food is great .
