Good service and friendly waitress. Delicious red curry suop I order 2 , 1 salmon and fry rice. The good price. Portions are enough to get satisfy, even the soup which is small portions considering the big bowl that they use to use for noodle soup. I'm really recommend if you like thai👍

Pad Thai was mediocre and boring, stiff noodles and pasty. No rice came with the Panang curry dish and amount of lemon grass added was overboard. Got back on app to see if it was an option and did not find it. Troutdale food trucks Thai is 80% better than this.

I place order for vegan items yet they give me salad rolls with shrimp. They won't fix problem. I order lunch but get dinner portions. They suck. Don't stand behind their product

Had a wonderful dinner here with two ex neighbors who now live in Parkrose. They were impressed with the calamari and I enjoyed my potstickers and seafood fried rice. We were also pleased with our cocktails. I’d definitely come back. Great service and great food.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I'll confess I don't think I've ever eaten at a table in the restaurant but the food is delightful and cater to my dietary restrictions, even when I order via Uber - just wish I could tip the staff when I order delivery. I'm glad I found this place I think it's a tucked away Thai treat that's worth the trip. My first time in, I tried the ground pork basil and I loved it! Done right, this simple Thai dish blends the perfect balance of spicy and savory with a hint of sweet and herb. Honey Jar Cafe does it right! I asked to notch mine up by making it "Thai" spicy and was impressed with the balance of heat and noted flavor that perfectly tied together. Next time, I'll add the egg for an added touch of decadence. I'm definitely coming back for more!

Came in this Evening, while entering I was greeted by the Servers they were both great and very kind with their service. I order 2 Crying tigers and 2 Thai Tea's to go and didn't have to wait that long. The Atmosphere was relaxing and felt like I never left home. I wasn't able to get the names of the Servers, but they were very sweet and patience. By the time I got home, the meal was still warm and tasted wonderful. Overall, it was a refreshing experience to have enjoy my meal at home.

As always I like their barbecue chicken. It's very delicious. I tried their Ramen noodle soup. It's more of a Thai version, rather than Japanese. It's very spicy but tasty. But I'll probably won't order that again.
The service is mediocre. You get something if only you wave at them. I may come back, of course, for barbecue chicken, for take out.

We have ordered take-out here many times over the years. The food is always delicious. I recommend the meat lovers plate with some extra sauces. Be sure to ask for your order total so you aren't surprised when you pick up. The prices on their website do not seem to be accurate, but we have never been disappointed with the quality and taste.

Ordered Pad See Ew to go, everything looked totally fine, but I did notice a burnt smell coming from the to go bag..

When I opened it to eat, again, everything looked okay... for the most part, but most of it did have a char on it. The entire dish tasted like it got left on a hot burner with burnt charred remnants sitting on it or something. 0 flavor besides the char. Major bummer.

Great food, Great Prices and Great Server.

I had the curry soup and they did a really excellent job - like pretty much of a godsend in this location. Price was nothing unusual so as expensive as is normal now. The portion was decently sized. The weight staff was friendly and kind. They had a good rapport with the other customers in there at the time that I ate. This place is 100% unpretentious but has all the stuff.

I've been going to Honey Jar Cafe for years, and often take my employees for a quick team lunch. Their staff is always friendly, the food is great and the price is great for the portions and quality. I've tried many dishes and I've yet to find one I don't like. Highly recommended.

The food is really good and the service is fast prompt and polite. Came here while out of town for work. I'll be sad to not have it down the street anymore once I go home. Will come back when I return to the office every year.

Great service and amazing food! It's the perfect place to grab a meal so you're not hungry while shopping at Costco. My favorite is Crying Tiger. It's not pictured on the menu, but it's a delicious marinated and sauteed beef dish served over rice with a tangy dipping sauce. The flavors do magic together for perfect balance. The shrimp and salad rolls are served with a more flavorful peanut sauce than I've had anywhere else. Simply put, this place understands flavor and fresh ingredients.

Great local Thai restaurant. Large selection of Thai food and prices are reasonable. I had the pad Thai noodles with chicken and it was little sweet but good. If you love spice make sure to tell them to make it spicy 🔥. Inside is clean and the service was fast. Definitely try this place if you are in the mood for Thai food.

I'm allergic to seafood and after asking if the pad Thai could be made with a substitute sauce of oyster and fish sauce, I was told the sauce was premade with fish sauce, and the only noodle dish that could be made was the yokisoba noodles. I ordered the yokisoba noodles with chicken, and after returning back to work and ready to eat, I get my meal out of the bag and looked at it and it was the most plain looking noodle dish ever. No sauce, the only color came from the carrots and cabbage. They provided no soy sauce, chili sauce, no sauce, the plainest looking lunch I've seen in a while. If I had known, I could've went to Panda Express, it would've been cheaper and I would at least had known what I was getting.. I'm disgusted!! I would like to go throw it at them! No worries, I'm never going back. Big waste of money as far as I'm concerned..

I’ve been dining at Honey Jar for over 10 years, but lately my food and delivery orders have been disappointing. The last three delivery orders have had missing items that I was charged for and the portions have gotten smaller and smaller. My delivery order tonight was missing two items and the pad Thai was dry and lacked flavor. I’m so bummed because this was my favorite Thai spot!

The neighborhood is not a place I would stop in so I am so happy others recommended their food. It was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.

The owner is very nice and the food is always cooked quickly. The serving portions are very large. Their Tom Kha is what I recommend most and their curries are tasty, but for the Pad Thai fiends out there you won't be disappointed.

I would have given them 5 🌟 except the menu doesn’t have the price which I don’t like because sometimes you try to budget your spending and want to make sure you have enough to tip etc. Plus people want to know when you post pictures etc.
The spring rolls could have had something other than cabbage for the $3 that they are each , peanut sauce was great though 😊. The pad see ew was delicious and a good portion. Thai tea was good just wish it was a bit bigger size for $5 .
Other than that it’s a nice place to sit down and eat they also have a pool table and I believe other games on the other side of the place . Delicious meal .

chicken noodle soup costs $14 with so little tiny chicken meat ( total is thumb size) and the taste was so terrible!! It is way over price.

Nice little hidden gem. this is the first that I've visited and I'm surprised. I had the red curry and pad see ew. They are as close to authentic Thai food as I've come across in the states. This is a place you go for food, not the setting.

A neighborhood restaurant with many locals eating there. We had ginger vegetables and pork.The vegetables were not over-cooked, but cooked just enough. The sauce was light and added just the right amount of spice (not referring to heat). Large servings. Reasonably priced. Good pleasant service. Very pleased.

After having read a few very positive reviews of Honey Jar Cafe I made the decision to give them a go on this past Saturday night.
Very disappointed. The food was below average. I made sure I was good and hungry so I could sample at least one extra item on the menu. I ordered papaya salad hot panang curry tofu with added extra veggies hot and Thai vegetable with tofu hot.
Here's the positive the Thai vegetable which is mixed veggies and tofu in a lite sauce was pretty good. I liked the bean sprouts as not all Thai restaurants put this in they're mixed veggies. I only wish their had been more veggies and more variety....it was mostly small broccoli crowns and carrots.
Next the panang curry first when I took the lid off the container all I could see was curry sauce. Not a good sign i was hoping to see some fresh not over cooked vegetables on top but instead all I could see was a layer of grease. So I took a spoon full and all I could taste was sweetness and oil. And their were no mixed veggies aside from a few tiny broccoli crowns and bamboo shoots and plenty of tofu. I tried to eat a few more spoon fulls of the curry and I couldn't stomach it so I ended up just dumping it in the sink. Lastly the papaya salad the gent at the counter asked me if I wanted the papaya salad Thai style? I was not exactly sure what he meant with that question as this is a Thai restaurant! Hmm the only thing I could think of was perhaps the owners are Laotian and from past experience eating at a Thai restaurant that was actually run and owned by Loatians they tend to use more fish sauce and usually very strong fish sauce in they're dishes. So in response to his question I responded yes Thai style please with very little fish sauce. And he smiled and that was that. The papaya salad was inedible their was so much fish sauce I just couldn't stomach more then just a small amount and sadly the remainder ended up in the garbage bin.
I got my order to take home. You have the option of dinning in.
This review makes me sad because I was hopeful that this would be a positive dinning experience and I would have come back.
It's worth mentioning the place is very well lit and the atmosphere is vibrant and nice. And the owners or people working here are friendly and they give good customer service......I don't know if it's just to take your order or if it's genuine friendliness. But the gentleman that took my order and the younger guy next to him ( I'm guessing it's his son) we're both very friendly and jovial. And; again worth mentioning the price was good only $36 which at most other Thai restaurants in Portland for all the food I ordered would have been $45 or more.

The owner lady is super friendly and a busy bee, making sure everything is taken care of to perfection. I have tried other places in Downtown, more expensive than this one or fancier and they are not even close. Portions are huge, bang for your money is great. Got a bit family to feed? Come here. Big guy with tons of appetite? This is your spot. They are quick too, I order from home and I might have a 5 min drive, by the time I get there, they always got my stuff ready. Tons of praises, I mean tons. Everyone come here and help our local businesses, this one deserves it so much.

Amazing food! I used to work nearby and I would eat here maybe weekly. My wife grew up in Thailand and also loved it. The food was always great and the service quick and friendly. Try the beef pho and the thai tea if you're unsure what to get.

Generous portions, fantastic authentic Thai flavor. Not too fancy, just great food and service. Will be back again for sure. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) dish was really tasty. That's always my first test of a new Thai restaurant I visit. It reminds me of awesome Thai street food.

Such amazing food, the crying tiger is great thats what I usually get but decided to go with the crispy chicken, it was a great call. Such a nice crunch to the skin and chicken was tender. The rice is great with muscles, shrimp, calamari, and scallops all in an amazing fried rice. If you haven't tried this place you're missing out.

They don't secure your food when you order through delivery services like uber eats. The box was just open and food exposed. Soo gross. The pad thai was all clumped together and the flavor wasnt really there. Almost kinda blan

I called Honey Jar Cafe and placed a to go order. I asked when it will be ready. The guy on the phone said 10-15min. So I drive out there and get there in 15min and come inside to pay and when I get to the counter they say they dont have any record of my phone order. I show them my phone and verify that the phone number matches, they confirm that the number I called was indeed their number. I try not to write bad reviews but this is the second time this has happened. My lunch break is timed so I cant afford to lose my job over a thai food order. So I turned around and went and got food elsewhere. I would spend my money somewhere else. If customer service was their priority then they should figure out how to put in a phone order and take care of their customers.
