Our first time at Ba Mee and we were not disappointed! The crispy noodle fried shrimp was tasty paired with the sweet chili sauce. The Tom Yum noodle soup was not only delicious but also had great presentation. The hand pulled garlic noodles had a variety of meats and was also very delicious. Service was amazing, and our server had a great sense of humor. We dined outside in the 70-degree weather. Street parking only. We would definitely come back to eat again!
I was so excited to try this restaurant and they did not disappoint. The atmosphere was beautiful and very chill. The Service was great! The whole team was wonderful. The food was EXCELLENT. We had the Shrimp Crispy Noodle Rolls and Crab Roll Wontons to start. Both were excellent. The crab rolls were actually pork, shrimp, and crab and the balance of flavors and texture was wonderful. The Shrimp Crispy Noodle Rolls were equally as good. The crispy noodles with the sweet shrimp was very pleasing. For main courses we had the N8 Kao Soy Noodle with Stewed Beef and the N13 Ba Mee House Noodle BBQ sauce with Crispy pork & BBQ Pork. My friend loved the N13 and said it was some of the best pork he has ever had. He loved the depth of flavor and the noodles. The N8, however was the Star of the show for us. The meat literally melted in your mouth and the curry was PHENOMENAL. The pickled greens that they paid with it really elevated the dish and the egg noodles were perfection. We will definitely be coming back to try more and I highly recommend you all give it a try!
(4.7/5) Been here twice now and both times have been fantastic. The handmade egg noodles are great. The crab rangoon might forreal forreal be the best I’ve had so far in Portland. So much fresh flavor in every dish I have had.
Service was spectacular. We showed up with a large group for a work birthday and they were very accommodating/kind. The place itself has a very chill vibe to it.
What I had was the tom yum noodle soup. Many of the dishes on the menu remind me of what made street food so irresistible. I love that you can spice up the soup to the level of how hot you perferred. The thai chili in fish sauce condiment shows that they are not afraid of being authentic.
We had an amazing time at this place. I ordered classic pad Thai with shrimp and it was exquisite. Every single plate that we ordered looked fantastic and my friends were also really satisfied with their order.
The best I take away from Ba mee is the service!! ❤️ 10/10
The waiters and staff in general were so kind, helpful, fun and very friendly. We loved it here!
The food is really good, a little expensive but I think it’s worth it.
Only bad thing is when I order takeout I added an egg to the order which they charged extra for. When I got home I saw that they did not add the egg but I still got charged for it. :(
Good food but long waiting time. Service moderate
One of my favorite spots in town. Top notch food, customer service, and ambiance

We had a lovely birthday dinner!! Delicious fresh noodles! David was so amazing at helping us navigate the menu and get the best service!!
Not very good.
I waited an hour and a half for my food and finally got the most flavorless Pad Thai of my life. I ended up pouring some of my own peanut sauce over it just to get it to taste like something. No idea how a Thai noodle place could mess up Pad Thai this bad. How do they have such great reviews?

This place has some of the best ramen I’ve ever had. True comfort food, and the service is always so personable and fun. I always take my family and friends here when they come in from out of town, I consider it to be a Portland staple. I recommend the N6, it has perfect flavors and is also a great hangover cure!
So good, this is the flavor I tested in Thailand!
Really disappointed to leave this review- the food we got was delicious, unfortunately they only brought out 2 of the 5 dishes (5 people) we ordered. Two dishes came out, and after about 20 minutes staff comes by to ask how we’re doing. They seem very confused that we haven’t gotten half our order, go back, then come back out with our receipt to verify what we’re waiting on. 10 minutes later they come back to reverify, like they were convinced we had received all the food despite only having 2 bowls at the table. At this point I cancel the undelivered food, because our quick lunch stop has stretched on too long.
They bring the bill, and they haven’t even comped our non-alcoholic drinks, and the 18% added gratuity is included. So we pay $65 for 2 meals and some tea, and half our party didn’t even eat. The place wasn’t even busy- it was 3pm on a Thursday.
The food that was delivered was delicious, really wished I had some. As we’re leaving I hear the table next to us questioning their check- as it wasn’t what they received. I assume they got our food, and their food went to a take out order I saw leave 30 minutes ago.
My wife and I were searching for a place to dine on Christmas Eve, and I recalled saving a spot in my maps app after coming across a recommendation on Instagram. The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was really relaxed.
The noodle dishes are very sweet, too much sugar in the sauces are not what I like and I did not finish my noodles. Get the roast duck or pork with rice instead. The bbq meats are good well made.
Unfortunately I didn't enjoy most of the dishes I tried. The pad see ew with duck was super oily and the noodles were very overcooked. The spring rolls were nice though.
Had the Khao soi with chicken. Delicious! BUT, the abundance of raw onion i felt was unpleasant
Superb. Stands out against more familiar Thai cuisine with an excellent selection of fresh, handmade noodles and perfectly blended flavors. Impossible to go wrong, but make sure you try the oxtail soup. So nutritious! Also love the roasted duck.
Great staff and the interior design is pleasant. Lovely place to be.
Everything is so good! I think at this point we’ve tried everything on the menu. My one note would be to please consider cutting the meats into bite sized pieces. It’s so annoying to be excited to eat and then have to cut all the giant messy beef filets in your noodles with a butter knife first.
Great meal at a great price! The hand pulled noodles were perfectly chewy and the sauce was amazing. The papaya salad was very fresh and the salad rolls had a perfect paper wrapper consistency. The chicken over ginger rice was incredible. Can’t go wrong with
I've already been here three times and I'm struggling to restrain myself from making it a more frequent occurrence. The food here is delicious! I love the noodles. So far, I've gotten the egg rolls, the steamed dumplings, hand pulled noodle soup, pad see ew, and the special hand pulled noodle. I would recommend all of these items.
I've gone for dine in and take out. I think it's worth noting that the take out options are slightly more limited (makes sense) than the dining in options and that I would order the food when you actually want it instead of trying to schedule a later order. I think it might be tough for them to accommodate that with the fresh noodles.
Dining in - the space is very nice but still casual and they had a good selection of drinks. There's a good amount of seating space.
Will definitely keep coming back.
My favorite is the kao soy with the chicken drumsticks. It always hits the spot!
The people there are so kind, the hand pulled noodles are amazing, and the noodle soup was like home from a place I had never been before. They pack so much flavor into their food while cooking everything perfectly. On a cold busy day, I can’t say how perfect enough it was to go there. Truly a blessing to have them in the neighborhood ❤️
The food and price is pretty good, but every time I’ve eaten here, it seems as though they prioritize the white customers. I’ve barely ever gotten a water refill when all of the white tables are constantly checked up on and given multiple refills, and it usually takes us forever to even get our order taken. Also, it’s odd that they have 4 servers when the restaurant isn’t even busy and they all hide away in the back.
yum. the egg noodle dishes are smth i would often eat back in bangkok, so it really hits home (especially the savory sauces).
its really nice that you can see the noodles being made in-house. they make both the egg noodles and hand pulled noodles themselves!
if youve ever been to khao moo dang in SE portland, this place is sort of similar but their menu has a wider selection of offerings for both rice and noodles dishes.
highly recommend the house noodles (N12/13 on their menu) and the creamy tomyum bowl.
our server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with guiding us through menu options. the only reason for the -1 star for service is because we sat around for awhile after boxing up our food and it seemed like they forgot to give us the check but honestly not the biggest deal and the food made up for it. we also had plenty to take home as leftovers.
Seriously great!!! Wantons were delicious, the duck was excellent
My partner and I ate here and had a terrible experience. We ordered A3 for an appetizer and really disliked the taste. It’s like a tortilla roll up with four different kinds of meat with a mustard sauce over it. I ordered the Tom Ka soup and like the flavor of the soup broth and the noodles, but all of the meat was flavorless and rubbery. My partner did like his soup, but they got the spice levels that we requested mixed up, so his was far more spicy than he wanted and mine had no spice. They have disposable, wooden chopsticks for dine in, which seems low quality. They were playing 90’s country music. A man came in and sat a couple of tables away from us and started loudly taking phone calls on speaker and the server went over and joined in on the phone call instead of asking him to take his call outside or off speaker. At this point we just wanted our check and to get out of the place.
Food was good - very rich and well portioned. Ordered:
Khao soi - very heavy and hearty creamy soup. I like the flavors here but seemed to be more fusion than traditional thai flavor
Ba mee udon soup with pork belly - tasted like wonton soup with good slices of pork belly. Udon is al dente. Soup is nothing special.
Chicken wings - i liked it but the sauce can be less heavier
Crab rangoon - the wrapper is burnt, the crab meat is delicious though
Service is weird - like nobody greeted us or directed us to a table. It’s hard to flag someone for water, and the person who took our order forgot that we already ordered, another staff photobombed the photo of me and my bf thinking it was funny, and the food smell sticks to your clothes which is not my favorite thing.
May return to try other dishes.
A jumping spider landed on my head and another customer behind me helped me get it off of me and outside the building. Very exciting!
Also the food was great lol
Great that on a Sunday it wasn't crowded.
The food was very good, but the service experience was poor. The bartender/ host who seated us was extremely nice and welcoming, but the rest of the waiters/servers were not very attentive. It was busy, but there were plenty of servers working per number of patrons present. They forgot to bring the appetizers. No one checked on us until we finished our main dishes, not even for a water refill. A different server then the one who took our order asked if we wanted dessert. We told them about the missing appetizers; she blamed it on their new system. She asked if we still wanted them, we told her we wanted to try one of them, so she put in the order. A 3rd server who cleared our table again tried to upsell us on a dessert. They dropped the delayed appetizer, but since they had already cleared our napkins and utensils we had to get up and retrieve new napkins from the bar. When they brought the bill, the server said they apologized for the mix-up, removed one of the appetizers, and given us a "small discount" on the bill. The discount was $1.50 off the total. Good food, poor service.
Super fast service, great meal.
It’s possible I should share my review after eating there one more time, but this place is a really refreshing addition to the Thai food that is all over town. The Laos style papaya salad had such a flavor punch - delicious (once I removed the crunchy crawfish shells)… I had the garlic noodles and the flavor was wonderful, noodles 🍝 great consistency. My wife got a gluten free dish and the seared flavor of the noodles was great. Could have had some more tamari, but this will *definitely* be our new go-to place for Thai food on take out nights!
Cute place with delicious food! Loved the hand pulled noodle stir fry with pork belly and the papaya salad!! Definitely coming back.
Second time here and the food didn’t disappoint. However the service did. My server would disappear for long stretches and I felt as if I was forgotten. I typed this up while waiting for him to remember that he needs to pick up my CC and run it.
Bad service. Not wide, just bad.
Had food delivered from them, everything was exceptional! Can wait to try more dishes.
This corner space on N Williams has been cursed for years but I think Ba Mee has finally broken it! In a short time it has already become one of my favorite new restaurants in town. The open kitchen is cool as you can often see them hand pulling the noodles. I'm obsessed with the creamy Tom Yum soup but haven't been let down by anything else I've ordered either. Highly recommend.
The food was amazing. It was our first time there but so far it was a great experience will very much be coming back to try more things off their menu.
Please help the staff. Noodles were good. Dirty dishes, dirty bathroom. Quietly told staff about deficiencies is quality of service. Didn’t matter. Asked for a manger politely, they said they didn’t have a manager. Would I recommend. Absolutely not!
Very good, hand pulled noodles rule. Great neighbourhood addition.
Excellent hand made noodles, fresh vegetables, and as much or little spice as you want!
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Food is amazing and service is exceptional! For those other reviews complaining about how bad the service is on a Friday night at 730p… look around and see how SLAMMED they are. Have some compassion when a small business suddenly blows up after a couple of influencers rave about this place. The rave is legit because the food is delicious!! Where else are you going to get as extensive of a menu with hand pulled noodles and roasted duck/pork/char sui at such an affordable price?! 10/10 will be back :)
Amazing food and service
I can't NOT review a restaurant I literally order from every week. There are several good reasons. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is stylish yet casual. Most importantly, the food is delicious! My favorites are the ones with hand-pulled noodles, including the Hand Pulled Noodle Soup and Stirfry. A word of advice, if you're sensitive to spicy foods, stick to a 1 or 2 when they ask.
Yes it was 7:30 on a Friday night. However, I stood there for a long time with no one greeting me. I sat in front of the noodle making window and waited even longer with no one still, except for the host that gave me water. I ended up walking out, the overall service was a huge turn off. It was also extremely hot in there.
The food was excellent other than one in our party had to wait 20 additional minutes to get her food after the rest of us already ate. Had to ask 3 times for drinks. The waitress offered a free coke for the inconvenience. I informed her that is a slap in the face for their mistakes. She was “sorry we felt that way.”
Other than that food was good. Service was horrible.
Yum!!
Excellent dinner!
Great flavors - family loved every dish. Service was efficient and cool atmosphere!
So…. We’re from California and was extremely excited to come eat here after seeing a lot of good IG reviews. I must say that the food tastes great! (At least the ones that came out from what we ordered) With that being said…… we ordered 5 entree dishes and only 3 came out. At first we didn’t pay any mind to it because we thought that it was just not ready. Then 15-20 minutes went by and the rest of us were near done eating. We asked the lady who took our order (the lady with the short hair) and she said it’s coming out. Another 10 minutes went by and the ones that got their food were done eating. And the food was still not out! I went to pay for the food and told them to cancel one of the 2 orders that never came out. I kept one of the order because it was the food that my little daughter ordered, or else I would’ve canceled both. Extremely disappointing with the service by that SPECIFIC worker. (Again, it’s the lady with the short hair) When we first got there and started to order…. She took ALMOST all of our order because she was going to walk off without taking my husband’s. AND we asked for extra napkins and she came back with one napkin! For 5 ppl? Seriously?! Its unfortunate for me to give it 2 stars when it could’ve been 5, but due to that specific worker…… I had to drop it.
I’ve really enjoyed this place, it’s very close to me and it’s been great to have a new Thai place in the neighborhood. But, I just did a door dash order and the chicken satay in the order was raw on the inside. Pink and cold.
Avoid Kyle server, very bad attitude
Kyle, he was very impolite and rude. Drove ways out just to try that restaurant with family. First he was demanding, secondly, no manners and I felt discriminated(I will report)
I ordered a beer, he ask for my ID, gave my ID with absolutely no issues(valid drivers license) face of my ID is somehow peeling(nothing serious) very visible.
He denied my order and ask for the id from my country or other type of identification. I stood up and not to argue, I ask for the supervisor or manager(there was none)
He came back to the table and says(until you don’t figure it out with me, he basically won’t take the order(mixing my family with the situation that Kyle generated)
Later on he came back with another waitress saying that he won’t help us no more.
The other waitress was amazing and provided my drink.
Kyle came back and saw me drinking the beer and give the authority of my half way beer to be removed, I did not want more arguments so I gave back the beer.
He came back to serve our table when we didn’t wanted him no more.
So bomb! These noodles are so tasty and the flavors are bomb. I also love that they are very vegan friendly, and the menu is not overwhelming. We love Thai cuisine and this is for sure one of our all time faves.
Notes:
- I was told to probably ignore the soups and to try to go for the Cantonese type dishes
- the 5 spicy isn't spicy at all
---
Ba mee house noodles garlic sauce ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Baa mee noodles seemed classic, they're thin and squiggly
- Roasted duck was yummy
- flavorful
Crispy egg noodles rad nah ⭐⭐⭐✨
- Crispy pork
- wouldn't recommend with crispy pork
- sort of confused because it was in a broth and not super crispy at all
❤️Hand pulled noodles stir fried ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- perfect. Get the 5 spicy because they go easy on you.
- love the bok choy
- the noodles are chewy and perfect
❤️Papaya salad ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
- not too spicy
- sour in a good way
- love the crunch of the peanuts
--- drinks ---
Whiskey pina colada ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- creamy and delicious
Food:
- A4 Crispy Shrimp Noodle Rolls were absolutely delicious. Fun textures and so good with the sweet chili sauce. Would get this again!
- N12 Ba Mee House Noodle Garlic Sauce with Roasted Duck was disappointing. The roasted duck was so so so so dry, which made it tough to chew. And, it was very salty, but lacked flavor. Doesn't hold a candle to Chinese roasted duck. The noodles were good. The sauce was garlic-y and overly sweet. I'm glad it came with some green veggies - the fried pork skin topping was unexpected.
- N9 Hand Pulled Noodle Soup with Roasted Pork was ok. The noodles could've been cooked for a little less time to maintain chew. I've rarely experienced this before, but the pork had a gamey flavor. The broth was very salty.
Service:
Super fast and attentive at the start. Then, the timing was off after we received the appetizer, making us wait a very long time for our meal after being very appetized! No one checked in on us throughout the meal so I was unable to give feedback about the duck.
Very cute and modern restaurant with a little booth of the kitchen where people can watch the chefs makes the noodles. We got N9 and N6 with creamy broth with ba mee noodle and fried shrimp appetizer . Both is amazing, love the fresh noodles of N9 with the a little chewy and thick texture, the broth is savory and comforting, the pork is super tender and flavorful. The N6 creamy broth is so good and comforting, there is different variations of meat, those are very good and flavorful too. Highly recommended and can’t wait to come back in near future
Hands down my favorite Thai cuisine spot. The crab fried rice had me in heaven it was so delicious! All th flavors are authentic and fresh. The staff are so nice as well! PLEASE tip them well If you can!
Ba Mee has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. The food is consistently good, great service, and I like that they can open the garage-style doors on warm days. My favorite is the N4 Crispy Egg Noodle Rad Nah, and I’ve also enjoyed the N8 Khao Soy and N11 Bao Mee House Noodle Soup as well as the steamed House Made Wontons. Once when they forgot part of my takeout order, they worked with me to figure out the right solution for my situation and offered to remake the entire dish free of charge. Definitely recommend!
A wonderful addition to both the city and area. The place is located on the corner of North Willams and North Mason. The interior is clean, nice, and spacious. We ordered an assortment of items to share, which I like to do when trying a new place out. We ordered the (N6) Tom Yum Noodle Soup (creamy broth), (N12) Ba Mee House Noodle BBQ Sauce (added duck to it), (R1) Crispy Pork and BBQ Pork over ginger rice, (N10) Hand pulled Noodle stir fried), and (A5) Wow wings. I would say that all the dishes were well made and each had something that made it good. The flavor of the meat was on point, as well as the quality. It was a great thing that we got the ginger rice over regular rice. The hand pulled noodles had a great texture and flavor. Overall, we all enjoyed our meal and would come back again. I know there's still a handful of other items I need to try.
Delicious food, attentive wait staff. I highly recommend the Tom Yum noodle soup, creamy. I will be back.
Hand made noodles. Spicy scale isn’t accurate. I got 3/5 spiciness and it felt like a 1
The wide noodles and oxtail are a must try
High quality food and super nice staff but the ratios are so noodle heavy, barely any protein and vegetables comparatively. I want to like it but it’s not worth the money for me to get 90% noodles. The ratios have been consistent over multiple orders
Tried a rice dish a few weeks later and it was the same issue. So much rice, so little tofu and veggies.
I’ve been trying to find satay and fresh rolls this good for a while now. Finally found it here!
I had to come back and edit this review. Originally I gave this 5 stars for my first small order. It was amazing. Then I came back hoping for the same quality and ordered the same with the addition of the crab wontons. The wontons were GNARRRRRR. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! So many crab shells and the smell was enough that I had to double bag it and throw it away.
Super delicious and large dishes. Got a couple dishes and shared them around. Service was great they were just extremely busy. Even a picky 5 year old left happy and full
This place is a new favorite. Everything is on the level. Amazing appetizers; we got fresh rolls and steamed wontons and they were off the hook.
We got also the house pulled noodle soup. 4/5 spice level is thai hot so be prepared. We asked for 4 and will probably go with 3 next time.
Can’t recommend enough
Roasted duck was absolutely PERFECT!
Such a good addition to Williams. The noodles are fantastic and the staff will always point you at something good.
The food here is excellent and also service. Highly recommended.
I recently visited Baa Mee Thai Noodle House and was absolutely blown away! Despite being open for only four months, this place has quickly become a gem in the area. The Crab Rolls Wonton were a standout – house-made wonton wrappers stuffed with shrimp, pork, and real crab meat. Each bite was a burst of delicious flavors! The Hand Pulled Noodle Soup with crispy pork and bok choy was equally impressive, with fresh, flavorful ingredients and perfectly cooked noodles.
The service was exceptional. Kai was attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. I highly recommend asking for him when you visit.
The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a modern yet warm decor that adds to the overall dining experience. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and check out Baa Mee Thai Noodle House – you won’t be disappointed!
My friend and I went here on a Friday night after planning on going to Em and being turned away. We were greeted as we entered and served very promptly.
The place is very clean and comfortable.
The food was excellent and we were served within 10 minutes of ordering.
I do have two food related complaints: 1. My dish had BBQ Pork and Fried Pork Belly. The Fried Pork Belly was not fresh and lacked any real flavor. 2. The Fried Ice Cream was great, but the Ice Cream was rock solid, making it challenging to eat. It would have been better if you could get a clean cut of the fried exterior and ice cream, but the solid consistency of the ice cream made this impossible.
Our bill for two people with drinks and dessert came to $49, which was shocking in that we were expecting it to be double that. Thank you for not over charging and providing an overall nice experience.
It's difficult to stand out among the many excellent Thai restaurants in Portland, but Ba Mee manages to do it.
We got the shrimp crispy noodle appetizer, the kao soi with chicken, and the duck fried rice. I would return for any one of them, but the kao soi was particularly memorable; I will look forward to the next time we can get some.
Incredibly delicious!! Will definitely be back. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned and great service.
Went here last week had Rad Nah with Pork Belly it was delicious. Had to order it again on Saturday it was so good. 10 out of 10!!
Third time and I’m all in on this place. Food is consistently very good and unique compared to other restaurants. Yet feels very thoughtful and authentic but not in a hey look at how authentic I am way. Had the noodles with broccoli and duck again and my kid had wings (of course I stole a couple) and it was ridiculously good. They greet you and make you feel welcome which I’m not sure why that seems above and beyond but iykyk they are a mainstay for us now and I hope they stay for a long time.
여행중에 들렸어요. 유명하다는 곳에 가려다가 대기가 너무 길어서 찾아본 곳이 여기였어요. 남편은 N12(garlic)with roasted duck,저는 N2 with BBQ pork를 먹었는데, 너무너무너무 맛있었어요.
So satisfying, fresh and tasty!
10/10 no notes
So glad this place opened up in the neighborhood. Everything is excellent, but the garlic noodles have my heart. Really good roast duck too!
I thought i was getting the signature noodle soup but apparently they thought I wanted a small side of plain dry noodles instead, darn. Generally pretty expensive for quite small portions but they are paying rent for a corner spot on NE Williams so maybe the pricing is appropriate for that location? Also maybe my fault for expecting more from a to-go order. So much other great and reliable take-out Thai in NE.
Awesome experience doing takeout! Food was quick and delicious. Staff was nice
Fantastic spot! I’m a heatseeker and 4 stars was reasonably spicy, but I might bump it up to 5 next time… incredible flavor regardless! And great value.
Food was alright kind of over hyped
The most enjoyable dining experience; should be most enjoyable waiting for my takeout order...
Then ate crispy noodle soup? Exceptional, and steamed wantons were good but not exceptional.😏
Absolutely obsessed i love this place everything so far is life changing
The food is really good ! If you are looking for spicy but delicious food this is the place.
I took rice with shrimps and that was really good. The sauces are also good
I got the number 10 add duck and my partner had the 12 combo add duck both were EXCELLENT! would definitely come back. The service was phenomenal our server was so kind and welcoming to questions. The hand pulled noodles were a favorite for sure! The wontons were okay, I would prefer if it had a less stiff texture to the filling.
The mango sticky rice was very well done.
My wife and I had a lovely dinner here! We stumbled across it on a walk and were not disappointed. The vibe was fun, flavorful delicious food and kind staff.
Hands down best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. I live in Vancouver and nothing even compares to this place. The prices are unbeatable! All the employees are super friendly! My wife and I had a wonderful experience. Will definitely be coming back
First of all, bummer to see all the "Local Guide" stuff on these. I wonder if anyone actually reads them. Never any personality. Always makes me skeptical to see a place like this that's a month old and has 30 5 star reviews from the "experts". Anyway, turns out this place is actually very good!
When I saw the location, I was kinda skeptical about it: N Williams area has a lot of competition. There's Eem, sporting out-the-door lines, amazing cocktails, and a noodle-free menu that might leave some thai fans in want. There's XLB, featuring great noodles and dumplings right across the street. There are at least 4 other places to get thai food within a quarter mile radius. There's no shortage of food carts or bar grub around either.
After dining at Ba Mee, I can say without a doubt that there's really no competition at all. In the price/quality/speed department, it's a highly optimized delivery machine. The spicy basil fried rice, khao soi, and even mainstays like pad thai or pad kee mao all deliver.
Their namesake dishes are incredibly good, with crispy pork belly (note, actually crispy) and veggies that hit the right level of charred, and hand pulled noodles that rival Franks. The garlic noodles are amazing, the roast duck is exactly how it should be. Singha on tap is the icing on the cake. You really cannot go wrong here. I say this as a person who, unlike a lot of these charlatan foodies on here, is just a weary traveler in search of some grub.
Great food and service, came with my family and really enjoyed the entire experience. Great ambience and music as well!
Got hand pulled noodle stir fry. Tasted delicious, was a good amount of food for the price. Staff was friendly and restaurant looks gorgeous. Love that you can see into the noodle kitchen.
I sat at the bar and was by myself. I ordered the chicken wings, N13 roasted duck noodles, and mango sticky rice. Everything was very delicious. The duck was soft and tender and the noodles were perfect. The egg is not included and I asked for it as an add on. I loved the meal. The restaurant tables were filled with customers on a Wednesday night, which means it is doing a great job. Thank you.
So this stretch of Williams Ave. is becoming a real Foodie Paradise. Wandered in based on the reviews & ready to get our SPICY Thai on. We were not disappointed.
Shrimp Crispy Noodle rolls: Check.
SPICY Papaya salad: Check.
Spicy Oxtail soup: Check.
Ba Mee House Noodle Garlic Sauce w/ duck & wontons: Check.
Mango Sticky rice: Double check.
A Lovely PDX Spring day and a Beautiful meal!
NOTES:
1. Be warned. This place knows SPICY 🌶️ Their level 4 would be a 5 at most PorKland area restaurants. AND Kudos to Ba Mee for their spicy condiment caddy! Some of us like to Seriously Wake Up our tongues & slap them around a bit.
2. The oxtail soup did not shiver me timbers. Not that it was bad, but I’m a Caribbean stewed oxtail kinda guy. We did polish it off though.
3. Barely scratched the extensive menu. CAN’t WAIT TO GO BACK!!
Well done, Ba Mee, WELL DONE!👍😁🥰🤩
And Welcome to the Hood.
Great food and drinks! Would recommend and will definitely return. Most definitely.
Quick services, nice atmosphere, delicious food plus kind and welcoming staff. Highly recommend and will be back soon.
I also ordered a pot of tea- the yoga blend. It was delicious.
Solid Thai noodle place. The duck is excellent. Shrimp dumplings are killer!
I came here on a Tuesday night for dinner, which didn’t seem too busy and got a seat quickly at the bar. I ordered the stewed beef noodle soup and a Lao style papaya salad. One sip of the broth, and I knew these people know how to make some damn good soup 🥇 But man the Lao papaya salad was even better. It had that perfect funk with some nice green papaya and little bits of crab. I got a 5/5 spice and appreciated they didn’t hold back on me. One of the servers recommended I try the pad see ew next time. Looking forward to trying all their soups. Maybe I’ll ask to see if they can do a 6/5 spice for me next time 💀
This is a really wonderful Thai noodle spot on Williams. The khao soy is fabulous and best you’ll get outside of Thailand. Highly recommend.
Sweetest employees and my new favorite take out spot. We got the roasted duck and crispy pork fried rice, both AMAZING!!! Welcome to the neighborhood :)
Best Thai food I've ever had! The noodles are hand made in the back while you watch.
I recommend the Ba Mee House Garlic Noodles with roast duck. The broth was perfect. The roast duck was tender with perfectly crispy skin. They have plenty of vegetarian options too.
They bring a collection of sauces to your table including a Bird's eye chili sauce if you want to tailor your own spice experience.
Our waiter was so helpful with the menu and very personable.
They also have a great tea selection.
The best!! Tried this on a whim and every single dish we had was perfect. I haven't stopped thinking about it since, especially the noodles. And the people here are so friendly and helpful! So happy to have Ba Mee in the neighborhood!
I had hand pulled noodles stir fry, pretty good stuff 😋 really enjoyed!

Rating: 5/5 - Exceptional
Husband and I came here tonight for date night and had such a wonderful experience. It was busy but we were still seated and served right away. We got Tom yum soup, garlic dry noodles with wonton, and hand pulled noodles with pork.
All delicious, the flavors really pop in every dish. The service was quick and the staff running the show were all so kind and friendly. The chili oil was so amazing as well, we would 100% be interested in buying it if Ba Mee ever starts selling that chili oil 👀👀
So happy to see more really good Asian food in North Portland!
This new Thai restaurant is so good, you won't believe it! The hand made noodle stir fry is to die for, and the service is super fast and friendly. I've been there twice already, and I can't wait to go back. You should definitely check it out!
Highly recommended the garlic sauce ba mee with roasted duck. It was so good I went back the second time within the same week.
We also ordered a Lao papaya salad and shrimp wontons and Thai iced tea. Everything was so tasty.
The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is on N Williams and Mason corner so expect a little drive around to for a street parking spot since it could be busy during lunch/dinner hour. Overall 10/100.
Absolutely fantastic food. Shockingly good and I didn't even have the handmade noodles yet!
We had the N10 with hand pulled noodles and pork belly. The pork belly was so crispy and had a great edge, and the noodles were flavorful and perfectly cooked. We split an entree and an app and had drinks, all for $36. Great value.
I was there on a chill weeknight and I got to sit at the counter facing where the chefs make the noodles, which was fun to watch. Recommended seating :) Staff was so nice. Had the garlic hand made with duck, insanely tasty. Sauce was awesome. I can handle a modest amount of spicy, and so I ordered a 2. I’d go one lower next time, so I recommended you go one less than you think. Had such a pleasant time.
The noodles are so good! Our party got chicken satay, egg rolls, N1 shrimp, N3 shrimp, N8 beef, and N12 combo duck and pork belly. I apologize for not having pictures, but the noodles are divine - chewy and sticky - and everything was delicious. The shrimp and duck were my favorite meats. Also, digging the chill jazz vibes, open windows, and clean, modern design. Much love. We will be back!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ba Mee Thai Noodle House, and I must say, it was an unforgettable culinary journey! We started with the A1 Egg Rolls and A4 Shrimp Crispy Noodles Rolls, both of which were simply divine. The crispy texture of the noodles combined with perfectly cooked shrimp made for a delightful appetizer that left us craving more.
For the main course, we indulged in the N8 Kao Soy Noodle beef and N12 BA MEE House Noodle with Garlic Sauce and added crispy pork. Words cannot describe how impressed we were with these dishes. The Kao Soy Noodle beef had a rich, creamy curry sauce that was perfectly balanced and utterly addictive. As for the BA MEE House Noodle, the tender duck combined with the flavorful garlic sauce took our taste buds on a culinary adventure unlike any other.
We also tried the FR1 Traditional Fried Rice, which was a comforting and satisfying dish that reminded us of home-cooked meals with a Thai twist. And for dessert, the Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango was the perfect way to end our meal on a sweet note.
Overall, Ba Mee exceeded all expectations and has easily become my top choice for Thai cuisine. I can't wait to return and share this wonderful experience with all my friends and family. Highly recommended to anyone craving authentic and delicious Thai food!
Really solid dining experience. Will be going back.
I got the Ba Mee house noodle soup with roasted duck. Incredible!! The broth was so rich but not overly salty and the roasted duck skin was crispy and melting in my mouth. The noodles were fresh. The price for what I got was so reasonable. Will be back ❤️
Ahhh, so refreshing to experience amazing food from beginning to end and also have quality service to accompany the meal.
Had a wonderful experience here! The house made noodles were delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful!
Everything I had here was tasty! I will be a regular
Appetizers and noodles were so good. It's a beautiful space too.
Fantastic addition to Williams! I think they're gonna stay in this space for a long time.
