Humble space for Japanese comfort food including sushi & cooked dishes, plus rustic Chinese plates.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner tonight. The restaurant is clean, our food was served promptly and it was hot and delicious. I had the Sakura Roll, it was a little bit on the salty side so if you’re sensitive to salt I’d skip it. The egg flower soup was tasty! Joe took very good care of us and I’m glad this is where we decided to get dinner tonight.
Came in late night for a snack, got crab puffs and they are the worst. I've came here for other stuff in the past and it's been alright but these aren't the biz. Just fake crab, nothing else. Also burnt. Thought about giving them back but didn't and just ate 1 and tossed them because what's the point, if you cant make a decent appetizer... keep my money, I won't bother ordering anything else ever which is a bummer cause I live so close and enjoy ordering food lol
We used to frequent this restaurant many years ago. After a long absence, we came back and found that the restaurant is now mainly Thai food. We had the Red Curry and Drunken Noodles. Both were generous portions, and the prices were very reasonable.😍 I would like to try other dishes again.🤤
This review really has to come down to the people who work there. The people who work there have always been quite friendly, especially the two men that have worked there the longest time. There also is a woman who works there who can be quite rude and very stern. The food is a hit or mess at their best days I’d give it a strong 3 and at their worst I’d give it a 2. Unfortunately I’ve had way too many bad days to give them that strong three. The rice seems old and hard. And the chicken is dry. Also our chicken teriyaki bowls were supposed to come with vegetables and when received at our table had no vegetables. You can definitely go give it a try and hope you’ll have a good experience but this place definitely doesn’t meet my recommendations list.
They literally scammed me and I was so disappointed that I learned to make crab ragoons at home so nobody else can take my money, sell me bullshit, and politely get the door for me.
Excellent service and value. Not a fancy joint but we were well attended to and left happy & full. Kids menu teriyaki was a big hit!
Been coming here for years. Sushi is so good. The guy who always helps us is great.
I had Yaki Soba with shrimp, it was the best cooked shrimp I ever had. Cooked only to done with a very tender chew, no rubberiness at all!

My favorite restaurant of all time I’ve been going here for over 15 years

Love this place! Food is always amazing and so are the people!

The staff are super nice and food is delicious!
Great place to relax and eat awesome yellow shrimp curry!
No salt in the fried rice
I’ve been here 4-5 times very nice people and good food
Favorite food in the area. Always super nice and food is always fantastic
This place is always good. Even my picky toddler loves it. Have been ordering for pick up for years from here. Never disappoints!

I ordered Kung Pao chicken and gyoza from here. I was not expecting gourmet food nor was I expecting anything approximating authentic Asian cuisine. Even with fairly low expectations I was surprised by how bad the food was. The chicken was completely dry. There were almost no vegetables and what few there were were not fresh. The entire dish was smothered in a sauce that made everything taste...salty. This place is nowhere near as good as Panda Express but costs 50% more.
Truly terrible food, although cooked quickly and with huge portions. The reviewer below sold me on the pad kee mao, but as of 6/2023 it was a huge mistake -- no flavor, enormous sheets of mostly-cooked wide noodles, and even the colors of the food were bland (way overcooked veggies). The egg rolls were soggy with grease.
No issues! Got the chicken teriyaki and gyoza lunch. Guy was very polite, gyoza was unexpectedly good, portions were good esp on rice and I loved having the chicken on top of the salad. One of the lottery machines got a Theocracy song stuck in my head
The food is amazing, and we love the owner, so nice!!! Sakura is my GO TO spot when craving Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles), theirs is phenomenal, and we've never had another come close. Very spicy, very flavorful, giant, perfectly-cooked noodles, just amazing. (Grub Hub and Door dash are ALWAYS lined up in there too, which shows they are popular.)
I like Vegas, which has an amazing food scene. I love Aria (one of the top hotels there) , and was really excited to try Aria's restaurant Lemongr*ss, which has great reviews. The food was excellent, but I was shocked to find it made me wishing for my Sakura Pad Kee Mao!
This, is THE best Pad Kee Mao I've ever had, and the owner is so friendly!
I cannot reccomend them highly enough. My only tip: I normally ask for hot/very hot, as so many places Americanize their food/water it down. Sakura does not. Medium IS ALWAYS hot enough for me. So, just don't go crazy on heat, unless you want very hot... this is more authentic food.
All in all, their food is amazing, and I cannot reccomend strongly enough giving them a try... .we are hooked, and I think/hope you will be too!
PS know that some of the trending delivery services charge restaurants a VERY steep charge to the restaurants... like 30%, or even more. So if you are able to opt for takeout, versus using a 3rd party delivery service, it can be a critical help to restaurants!
FOOD WAS SO GOOD. I was getting tired of all other food but this just hit different so yummy, food and portions were excellent and prices were awesome!! Truly love this place as well as my friends who dined there with me.
The owner is the nicest guy you'll ever have met and always goes out of his way to make you feel at home.
Really good food
The food was good, fresh and tasty. The place itself is a dive and not clean.
I have ordered from this restaurant multiple times. They have great curry and sushi. The problem? They are prone to customer service issues and order mistakes. Today was the last straw for me...they gave my order to the wrong delivery person and were extremely rude when I called to find out what was going on. Never got my food after waiting over an hour. Never again.
Very good place to eat
Been coming here for years! The yakasobi is just the way we like it!
The teriyaki with egg roles is really good, very nice place with alot in the menu
I ordered extra hot KungPo Chicken today, the chef was spot on about extra hot. I loved my meal and will order KungPo from this restaurant from now on..
No indoor service!! Super sad and pitiful
Great food and friendly service. Great bang for the buck
The food was atrocious. Bland and way over cooked. We ordered a verity of dishes, not one of them was even remotely appetizing.
Chicken yakisoba ordered 3 today. At 12.+ $$$ each. Dropped 45$ for 3 orders with tip. Just chicken yakisoba no veggies. And let.me tell you,,,, never again. We got a TON of noodles and somewhere in there when you picked around enough you found these little tiny chunks of chicken. The flavor was Bland, the price was very high for what we got. ITS Yakisoba noodles.
Fantastic service even though they get pretty busy at lunch with take out orders. Food was much oilier tasting than I like though and the crab puffs were not the 'traditional' kind with cream cheese that I usually love. The bbq pork however is delicious! Definitely might be back for the bbq pork alone.
Love love love this place
Yellow coconut curry with tofu is vegan and delicious! Expect to pay 13$ for each plate. They accept card and cash. Definitely great place. They are open evenings only and stay open until 9 pm. One of the only places that I know that will take phone orders. They take about 20 minutes as everything is made to order. Come and enjoy 😉 😘 a good meal here

Horrible service
This was our first time trying Sakura. Sadly, it will be our last. It was on time and the service was friendly. But the food itself was practically inedible. We ordered the kung pao chicken and the beef and broccoli. The meat tasted like it had gone bad. The vegetables seemed fresh, but the overall off-putting taste combined with the questionable meat had me stop eating after the first two bites, before throwing it away - and I really hate to waste food, but even sriracha could not have saved this.
TERRIBLE! Waste of $. Panda is WAY better taste & value.
Awesome food love the miso soup
This place always has excellent service, tasty food, and warm environment. Im a regular and I definitely recommend!
Great food. Great prices. Order by phone, not online, the online order places take 30% of the businesses purchase price from them.
Good food. Ready forbpick up in minutes!
Best place i have been to in a very long time. Food and service is outta this world. Go, eat just a small hole in the wall place so dint expect glam and glitz just great food and service. There bbq pork is the best I have ever had moist and packed with flavor. Curry soups are OMG mouth watering and leaves you wanting more. Drunken noodles best ever. The owner is awesome and has a wonderful server with the best personality that makes it ever more wonderful to be there.
Expensive for the lack of flavor. Very bland.
The girl who works there is super nice and I love the teriyaki. Its my favorite!
The worst Teriyaki bowls I have ever had. Chicken is not chicken and the beef is not beef. If u like good food definitely don’t eat there. Wish I could of gave no ⭐️‘s
Food js good.
Great price for a great portion
Just stopped in on a whim and had a really good meal. Will come in again!
Love this place!! I will make trips from the eastside of Portland just to have their chicken/beef teriyaki with rice & veggies. It's the best teriyaki I've found thus far.
The staff is extremely friendly, atmosphere is comfortable, portions & prices are fantastic.
If you're a teriyaki conniseur then you should check this place out.
I ordered Kung Pao chicken and spring rolls. The spring rolls had no flavor and was extremely greasy and the sauce was too runny. The Kung Pao chicken made me sad; To be fair I did order extra spicy, but the dish was just SWIMMING in this red chili that made the entire thing taste rancid and stale. Typically chillies are fried first to build up flavor but these chillies were soggy and gross. The chicken was tough and tasted like they reused leftover chicken from the day before. Because I hate wasting food, I tried to save it by dumping the chicken into a colander to rinse out most of the bad-tasting chillies, then stir frying it with my own sauce. Even with that, there were hard chili seeds covering all the food and the rancid taste lingered. I'm so disappointed that this was my lunch today.
Food is ok .
Teriyaki bowls are reasonably priced and tastes good....usually serve too much rice and not enough chicken or veggies, as i found most teriyaki joints do
Thai food okay. Others not so much.
Worst chicken /bento in town. Inaccurate pricing on web site. Dirty . Poor, inattentive service.
Very clean place and wonderful staff. I’ve had a wide variety of the menu, everything I’ve had was great and very affordable.
Unassuming but clean place, it's almost got a doctor office vibe with the art. Food want bad, but it wasn't great, though they did actually bring the heat I asked for. I kinda wish they just doubled down and did one for well rather than try to cover a bunch of bases mediocrely.
The teriyaki chicken with sticky rice was delicious! They have a good menu with a variety of choices to fit your pallet, and the atmosphere feels like you're in a local hideout. As far as I can tell only one guy is ever working there, he works the counter, cooks, and hangs out with the folks in the video-poker room. So, props to you my dude!
We are really loving our newest neighborhood find! Sukura is fresh, authentic, fast and local.
The menu online is not their full menu and I was so shocked when I placed my first order over the phone but then got inside and saw a full menu !! I've uploaded that to help others choose their favorite item.
The red curry is rich, flavorful, and not a salty mess. Deep curry enriches tender beef and vegetables. Nice size portions and rice that I can never master at home.
Teriyaki Bowl is piping hot and filled to the brim. No gristle pcs or weird parts. Beautiful fresh cabbage and veggies lay on a bed of rice. Heck. I'd sleep there! 😀😂
The Sukra roll, worth every cent. Phat and fat rolls packed w battered shrimp, green fresh avocado and hey... sometimes I need a little Krab to top that, and top it they do!
The thai ice tea is RICH and delicious. Not some wannabe tea like at the bubble places. I love supporting this local family w their authentic Asian cuisine. Thanks, Sukura!
We'll be back.
Ordered Pad Thai to-go, portions were huge but definitely quantity over quality. The little flavor it had was off with no heat. The chicken was extremely tough with zero seasoning, also it wasn’t even all chicken both dishes had different amounts of tofu (my plate had one piece my wife’s was almost half tofu and half meat).
Good people and service. We LOVE the food. Especially the yellow curry and teriyaki bowls 🍲.
My only negative comment is about the interior of the restaurant. It could use some freshening up. I prefer to order takeout for that reason. But I’m a bit of a germaphobe.
4/6: Update- we moved to Portland 3 years ago and they have the best Pad Tai around. Better than all the food carts I’ve tried. Large portions @ a good price.
They are also starting to make improvements to the interior as well. 😋
Walked in at approximately 11:00 am. Ordered 3 different dishes all delicious (by far the best BBQ pork ive ever had). huge portions. Top notch service from the blonde gal!
We will certainly be returning!
Love the spicy shrimp and vegetables dish. The teriyayaka bowls are great too. I find the service to be excellent.
Have good food at reasonable price and staff is friendly
Was really really good kung shrimp and can't complain at all guy was really nice good service I tend to go alot of places so I'll deff be coming back here 👌👌
Good service, fresh food
Food is consistently pretty good but the service not so great. I continue to patron because of the convenience of location and relatively good taste, despite the service. If it were further from my house I'd likely not return.
Order to-go on Grubhub. Food was delivered hot, nice and spicy, and great portion sizes. Amazing thai food and really good thai tea. Well definatly order again.
Love the yellow curry, yakisoba, and the drunken noodles!! Sooo good.
Got curry chicken to go. There was ONE TINY SHRED of chicken and two potatoes. Waste 10$. I would not go here. I even left a generous tip before they made it!
Horrible.....
The food and service were excellant.
Real good. Service good.
Really good food, very large portions,
super friendly staff and Joe, the owner/cook is awesome!
Love it!! Amazing food with good prices
The service was great, the girl who works the front desk is nice and charming but the food bummed us out.
If you like worcestershire sauce in your Chinese food, this place is for you.
The first meal here was spicy, splendid, love their stir fry !
Nice lunch spot, huge portions cooked to order very affordable too, lunch was $6.75.
I stopped by there for the first time today. I had no idea what I wanted. The Blond Girl? woman. Was very very nice. I told her I had a belly ache but needed to eat. She recommended what she would eat. It was GREAT! Soup and a light meal.Perfect. Her smile & listening is what made my experience worth coming back for more. Oh! The food was excellent too!
**edited after business response** Ordered via grub hub. **(food was delivered in 17 minutes from ordering if I remember correctly, regardless is was a lot faster than expected**) Crab puffs were below par. General tso’s tasted old and was soggy. **(there's no way the chicken breading got that soggy in the amount of time it took from ordering to delivery)** Safeway has better general tso’s at 3pm than what I got today. I ordered spicy and it barely had any heat to it. Like I can faintly taste there is some spice but it taste mostly like soy sauce.
Been a couple different times and the food is kinda a hit or miss. Very inconsistent with the dishes they put out.
Service is fantastic!!! This blond girl works her butt off and is very nice.
We stopped in at lunch (12:42) and it was packed, and people coming in and out with call in orders. I dont know how this one girl managed so much butt she was just great.
The restaurant is small but effective. The cook needed help at lunch rush (it was only him) but he did good. We waited about 20 minutes for food but we where a group of three at lunch rush.
The flavor of food seemed off a bit and they ran out of rice.
We would come back in but not for lunch.
Good food mediocre service
The customer service was wonderful. Our waitress greeted us with a smile checked on us throughout our meal multiple times. Will eat here again!
The pricing is very reasonable! The food was amazing and the wait staff was very nice and checked back with me to make sure i was satisfied!
Food is excellent and the worker there, zalena was really friendly and helpful
Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.
I was so severely dissappointed with this place. For 10 dollars I got a very minimal amount of chicken. A huge glob of white rice and their so called "salad". The sign on the front of the place has pretty much fallen off and upon entrance to the restaurant there was a girl that didn't even acknowledge me. I been here years before and got the same dismal service and food. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere would be my advice.
The food was good but definitely not the best. I ordered the chicken katsu to go and it took about 15 minutes to get my food which was fine but the food itself was just okay I don't think I'd go here again. The chicken tasted a bit dry but the rice and veggies where good. Not bad at all if you're looking for somewhere close and convenient to eat.
Food is decent, pricing is quite high. Called to place a to go order was put on hold for almost 10min 😣 then I was told my food would be ready in 30min. 45min later my food is not ready 😣 Simply don't order to go as it takes way to much time.
Food is decent. The restaurant is small with a few tables and booths to sit in. Nothing spectacular, but a reasonable choice for takeout.
Great fast and friendly service! Super nice family owned restaurant
Great food at a fair price. The staff is really accommodating and friendly. Teriyaki chicken roll, sesame chicken, and orange chicken are all good choices to try.
Good Chinese food, but bad sushi. Prices are a little high, and the Thai food isn't very authentic. Sometimes the wait for take-out is outrageous. Nice customer service and clean environment.
Great service an great food ..nice family run place..
Great food, wonderful service and quiet atmosphere. Overall a great place to eat.
Customer service was epic. I loved her I wish I knew her name to give her credit but hopefully the owners know and give her credit where it's due. She knows her menu and is efficient. I'm pleased with her recommendation and will definitely be back!!! Thanks for the hospitality!!
Staff is friendly and has great customer service. Food is amazing. Prices are great. Portions are a fair size for the price you pay.
Great food, eat there often for lunch.
Excellent food, made to order. Great price. Owner took our order and served us, very kind. Will be back!!
Best food I have had in this area. Great service and great food. I recommend the general tso's chicken spicy!!!
Good food? Not a place to go if you want sushi, no fish. How can you advertise sushi and have no fish? And the yakisoba was so oily I thought I was gonna to have to drain it. The orange chicken was orange alright but flavorless. First and only time I'll eat there. Way to many better options
Delightful atmosphere and yummy food. My fav is the sakura roll.
Alot of fun in the poker lounge clean and no riff-raff
Really love there food!
I orginally ordered pad thai. They didn't have the rice noodles, but had rice noodles for other dishes. I asked if they could just use those ones. They said it would taste different because of the different texture? I said I didn't mind. Then he said it would cost more? So scratch that idea. I'm just starving and don't want the hassle. So, instead, I ordered 2 orders of egg rolls. Went back to my friends house, smothered those puppies with dipping sauce, ate 2, then halfway through the 3rd, I realized I just ingested a half egg roll that was moldy. It's been 4 hours now, after brushing my teeth and trying to drink tons of different things to just get the taste out, I still taste mold. I swear if I get sick, I'm gunna flip out. Who in the bloody hell serves the public, or anyone for that matter moldy food!?! I'm so disgusted and sick to my stomach. If I miss ANY work because of this, believe me, this place will compensate me and then some!! Get it together people! I will NEVER eat here again. I've actually lost my appetite for any Asian food again. Great job.
This place sucked! Terrible service, they were out of foods and when they went to charge my card they charged $45 dollars and he couldn't tell if they gave me a refund! The food was awful! The prices were VERY high for basic food.
I've been coming here a lot lately ,and I really love the orange chicken.Idk what any of the bad comments are about but it's actually good and the people are really nice.
food here is great
Wasn't impressed at all. Orange Chicken didn't even begin to taste like it was suppose to. It had strange butter taste instead. Unless this was just a bad night for food, I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there.
I really do love this place... Most of the time. It depends on the cook for the time being. The original guy knows what he's doing and can make the most spectacular food. The newer guy seems to over cook everything. Good Teriyaki Chicken Bowls, Crab Puffs, Avocado Rolls, and Californian Rolls.
Support local businesses like this one, they deserve it. Consistently good food, especially the chicken and broccoli. The chicken is nice and lean (not grisly or fatty) and the sauce is delicious. Yum!
Very simple fast food like bento. Dark environment.
