Unassuming outpost features an array of traditional Thai & Chinese fare in a no-nonsense atmosphere.
Good low key restaurant, situated next to a grocery store. Service is friendly and pretty quick. Food comes out fairly quickly. I was in the mood to try out a bunch of new stuff, so I tried the appetizer sampler and a curry dish. My friend grabbed a noodle dish. Overall, a pleasant experience. Some of the food just didn't hit for me, but it wasn't the quality that was lacking.
In my opinion, one of the Top 3 Thai Restaurants in the Columbus area. My “go to” has been Pad Thai over the last few months - always amazing. Stepped outside the comfort zone today and ordered Shrimp Tom Yum and Fried Wantons. Both were excellent!! Service is timely and staff is friendly. Like many, became “take-out only” after COVID, but have thankfully reopened for dine-in (now I don’t have to eat lunch at the office!!).
I love this little place! And I recommend for everyone to stop in if they can! Great restaurant and service. And the grocery store is wonderful. And the people are so helpful and nice, even if you're not sure what you're looking for!
Grocery side was okay. Smaller but has a good selection of Southeast Asian products. More and better selections than the larger Asian grocery stores around the Columbus area. Price was reasonable. Tighter space. A little disorganized for me but was able to find most items I needed.
The restaurant is interesting. Great food. Descent portion and the quality was good. Service was okay. Everything comes in to go box. Order first and then you can eat inside but the restaurant isn’t configured for dining in. Its focus is take out, still in COVID protocol it feels like. Tables are stacked. Bubble tea was great. Pho was surprisingly great! Could use some spice, but there isn’t much of a service that I was able to request for. Wished they have a better dining presence.
Here’s my advice. If you understand Asian service, dine in might be okay for you. If your worldview is only as wide as Columbus, you should do take out or even go elsewhere.
My first time there today for lunch take out. I drove there from downtown because I’ve only heard great things about this restaurant. The chicken Panang curry and the chicken pad Thai was delicious. I went next door to the grocery store while my food was being prepared. The store has nice prices and offer anything you’d want from Thailand.
We randomly came across this place on Google and since it is nearby we decided we wanted to try it. The young lady behind the counter was very nice and extremely welcoming and took our order. We also got 3 vegetable spring rolls (not pictured) and all of this food was an extremely great value at a grand total of $38 for takeout. When we took the food home and heated it up just a little bit everything was so good and extremely flavorful and the portions were huge. My only recommendation for people who do not like spice is to ask if they can lower the spice level in the papaya salad because it was extremely extremely spicy. Otherwise everything was very delicious and we will definitely be back.
The food at this little restaurant is absolutely outstanding, will change your life ! Real authentic Thai, reasonably priced, and the service is great, very friendly. A lot of Asian people eat here, which should be an indicator of real quality. A hidden gem in south side of Columbus. I eat here every week now. There is an also a Thai grocery store here that you can shop at.
Best tai in city
their food and staff of awesome. love everyone

Attended the store you can always find stuff that no one else has. it's so amusing & adventures every time you discover something different. The staff here treat you so good you feel like family stay blessed 🙌🏽 😇 🙏🏻
Fabuloso this place has old atmosphere food is s amazing 6 stars
Best Thai food ever
Bangkok Grocery store is a hidden gem for anyone seeking authentic African and Asian food supplies. I've been a loyal customer since 1993, and they have never disappointed. The grocery section is always well-stocked with a wide variety of hard-to-source ingredients, making it a go-to spot for specialized cooking needs.
What sets this place apart is the staff—they’re incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help with a smile. Whether you’re exploring new cuisines or looking for specific items, their welcoming attitude and willingness to answer questions make the experience even better.
For over three decades, Bangkok Grocery has been a reliable and trusted destination, and I can't recommend it highly enough for anyone passionate about cooking or simply curious to explore diverse culinary cultures.
The papaya salad is A generous size. order it spicy level 2, you won’t regret it. . Also The Thai tea, and Thai coffee, are both delicious and a nice serving size for the Price.
Super good food, reasonable prices, friendly staff. Spicy stuff is actually spicy. One of the best restaurants in Columbus!
Love the pad thai

They know my order every time I go in! I love this place so much and get it at least once a month to treat myself. Otherwise I'd eat it everyday! Pad kee mao EXTRA spicy with fresh bean sprouts and sticky rice!
Pretty dingy place and staff not very friendly. Pad Thai was so sweet we had to send it back. Replacement was not edible. Charge for water. I’ve had Thai food all over the country. I’ve never left a full plate of food behind.
This is my personal review of the restaurant itself, not the grocery store. I went to the restaurant, paid for my food, and surprisingly it was served on styro foam plate with plastic fork and knife. It feels like a picnic in the park with disposable plates and utensils. The food itself already cost me $12 and it was tasteless. Food presentation is severely lacking, even for a standard Asian restaurant.
Great food and great market. I love it
Nothing to brag about when it comes to dishes. If you are a serious thai food lover, then you'd be disappointed. This place won't make it onto your top 500 list. They need to take "thai" out of their menu. I ordered thai soup noodle and spicy chicken pad prik. Both were not good. To be honest, "NOT GOOD", is somewhat understatement. Go try for yourself.
On the hand, the deserts in the cooler were absolutely delicious.
Pad Thai is delicious, one of the best I've ever had.
I have came here many times over years, an enjoyed every visit. The food is still good, but the overall experience isn’t what it was in years past. Everything must change I suppose. I do recommend here, but when I’m in Columbus in future travels we’ll chose another option.
The best Thai in Columbus hands down, I just wish they would make it easier to get their food! Phone is often not working and it is inconvenient to drive there and order and wait in the car for take out, especially when there are so many options with other restaurants to order online etc. if Bangkok would make it possible to order online they would be absolutely perfect.

The Best Shrimp Pad Thai in Ohio. I live in Maryland now, when I come back in town, this is the first place I stop to eat.
I have shopped here for almost 40 years. Consistently a wide variety of food items and the turnover is high enough that things are always fresh.
Be warned. This is mainly a takeout joint. If u do dine in, prepare to eat from styrofoam plates and cups
Best Thai in the state.
First time going there, food was great
The food here absolutely amazing, love it. It's so good and nothing ever misses here.
Personal favorite for Thai food in Columbus. Tastes authentic and well prepared.
this food is BOMB. Best takeout I have had ever, it's a little more pricey than your average- but well worth it. Food came out quick- spring rolls were crispy and so good. There was nothing to complain about and it has hit just as good every time... I can't stop ordering! I got the pad ba mee and it's close to a chicen lo mein but way better IMO, also we get the chicken fried rice. 10/10
Great menu, limited indoor seating with food brought to the table but ordering takes place at the register.
Food can be spicy or not, as you wish .
This is only an Asian market, no restaurant, but the food stuff selection is outstanding. My family is from Thailand and my wife finds everything she needs to prepare traditional Thai food, she is very happy to shop here.
This use to be such a great place.! Dine in is not a thing no more. Trying to call for carryout is impossible they never answer and they hang up.
Please add more Indonesian grocery
They have really fallen off. We ate in and was served on paper plates. Egg rolls were served in a to go container. I asked for Sriracha and I was told they didn’t have any. No Sriracha in a Thai restaurant? It was worse than any mom & pop restaurant .The attitude of the lady was dry and inhospitable. Erawan Thai is right down the street and that’s where I’ll go from now on.
Long time fan of the food and staff at the restaurant. The added bonus of the grocery store where you can find some really interesting food, spices, and snacks.
The gold standard for Thai food nationwide (in my experience/opinion)--really nothing compares. Don't miss their pad kee mow, tom ka gai, pad thai, or thai fried rice. These guys are just absolutely fantastic. Nice grocery next door too.
Love their food. Theyre not stingy with portiins. I highly recommend
One word " FAMILY " 🥰
He got the best tea in Columbus Ohio
The food is always great!
Great customer service.

Best Thai food in all of Columbus. I love the Panang curry and Won ton soup.
joe mama
Good food made to perfection
Great for Asians Grocery
I was there from out of town and googled for Thai food and this place was most likely recommended. The establishment was very low key setting, your food for dining in was serve in a to go container, the food was good, I think they should maybe clear out the dining area and set more tables out for customers, most tables and chairs were stack on top of each other in the corner looking clustered. Just my opinion but most Laos and Thai place needs to step up their game and make it more welcoming.
The best Thai place in Columbus and one of my personal favorites. Tried a lot of dishes: pad Thai, coconut curry, pad see ew and all are excellent. Another perk, it’s affordable.
The server was wonderful and the food was great.
fresh food
Restaurant 👍🏽
Neighborhood spot. Cook good food at reasonable prices.
Great place to pick up oriental ingredients. Staffs are very helpful. Love it!
The only place locally where I will order pad thai (and my friend pad kee mao)
This used to be our favorite restaurant but not anymore
Just a hole in the wall But they know how to cook Thai food, one of the best around here. Not a nice place to sit down but take out instead.
This place is amazing and I'm kicking myself for waiting this long to check it out. We tried the fried chicken wings, Penang curry with tofu, and Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle). Everything was delicious! Can't wait to come back and try some of the other menu items.
Kraw pow chicken with a fried egg on top , extra spicy. They will actually make it spicy when you ask for it haha
The pandemic is over, time to open the restaurant for dining in like at least a year ago!
amazing food
Taste of food was not good, serving size small, over priced, will not go back.
I took a client there that wanted to get her necklace repaired I also bought a handmade pouch it was very beautiful
We get this at least once at week at my job. We get the pad kee mao and its excellent every time. May be a bit spicy for some but we live this place
Its a good place if you want to buy Asian food and ingredients, I wish there was more place to walk around, the pathway is to narrow.
I only visited the grocery, not the restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful. Selection and prices were good. They also have some Jamaican items.
Great family owned asian market, highly recommended been going for 10 years now
Used to be an eat-in table service family restaurant pre-pandemic. Now you order at counter and you can eat your take out food at the few remaining tables, which was fine. The pad kee mao (see photo) remains the same delicious flavorful dish as before with perfect spice and basil. Crab fried rice and spring roll also very good. Service was quite efficient.
Decades ago, this was my favorite Thai restaurant. Not having been there recently (for years, really); I decided to take the family for dinner.
We were surprised to find that traditional dinner service is no more. Now, if you want to eat in their dining room (among chairs stacked on tables) and a handful of folks waiting for carryout, you'll eat out of carryout boxes. We ended up taking it home, so we could eat off plates and share.
I think COVID really hurt them. The atmosphere and service I remember are gone.
The food is still very good (maybe a little greasy, depending on the dish). Try the Pad Ke Mao.
THE BEST shrimp pad thai you will ever eat. This is all I get and it has never failed me. Also it’s connected to their store which is very smart business wise because while you’re waiting for your food, you can shop for more food lol.
Very Friendly and the Papaya Salad is AMAZING! #spicy #papayasalad #columbusohio
My husband and I eat at this restaurant almost every time we come to Columbus. The owner is so courteous. The food is awesome.
Great selection and prices. I've been going to this place with my dad for as long as I can remember. Try the pad Thai it's delicious!!
Love this place!! They also are very nice!
this thai place is OFF THE HOOK.
precovid, indoor, feb 2020 review
this place is reallly really really delicious. i think it's the most authentic one can get in the middle of ohio. it's big and spacious with a lot of sitting AND IT GETS BUSY FAST cus it's really good. (lots of asians so ya kno it's fabulous) and customer service was great from what i remember. the food came out in a moderately short time so cheers to that.
OFC this place does NOT play around with heat and spice--AS IT SHOULD BE !!! ya kno thai people can take the heat so i super appreciative that they stay true to their culture.
so i got the shrimp curry with a heat of 2? LOL i'm weak ok but it still hurt lowkey but i still love.
my portion was decent but my friends got HUGE PORTIONS THAT TASTED AMAZEBALLS. LIKE YOU CAN TASTE THE CRAB IN the CRAB fried rice blended very well with their spices and seasoning (forgot the spice level). while my friends pad kee mao was REAL SPICE (i forgot what heat they picked) BUT REALLY GOOD. super flavorful AND you can taste the wok hei (like you know it was cooked on high heat on a wok).
i don't recall any really GOOD thai places in ohio besides bangkok. LOVE THAT THEYRE ATTACHED TO A GROCERY STORE TOO. YES. love ya guys.
If you're looking for a great Thai restaurant in town, look no further than this gem! From classic curries to stir-fries and noodle dishes, there's something for everyone here. One dish that stands out is the Pad Ka Pow, also known as chicken basil. The flavorful mix of chicken, basil, and spicy sauce makes for a truly delicious meal. And at such a reasonable price, you can't go wrong. Overall, this Thai restaurant is definitely worth checking out
A great store for all your Asian spice's and ingredients. The Service is wonderful, as well as their selection of goods. The restaurant's menu is top notch and the food exquisite. If you love Thai food, you'll love it too.
This place has amazingly good food. We love the chopped chicken (aka basil chicken)! We also always get the vegetable lo mein. Good egg rolls and crab rangoon, too.
It is better than higher notoriety places we have been (like the one by Polaris) . The only downfall is that since covid hit, it is now a take-out only establishment.
Delicious Thai food! Generous serving, full of flavour and great service.
great people
Excellent customer service, very helpful!

Really really great food.
Nothing has ever disappointed! The Tom Yum Pho is amazing. I’ve never had a bad meal or bad service.
Absolute top tier Thai food
When I say favorite I mean favorite Asian store in Columbus, Ohio. Family owned business!! Love you all and thank you ♥️
This is our go-to grocery store for all the 'Caribbean accoutrements' we need to create our meals. Things that you won't find in the chain grocery stores, you will get here. They have SO MANY things; meat, fish, seasonings, tea, drinks, pots, rice, breads....just everything. I wish it were closer but that doesn't stop us from going, maybe just from going more often.
Love this place they're always quick and friendly. Mama is my favorite Ramen brand, and they have so many flavors. Their tea section is 🔥. I will be doing a lot of my grocery shopping here.
This is the best Thai you're going to find in Columbus, full stop. In fact, based on sheer food flavor and authenticity, I'd put this little hole-in-the-wall up against any Thai restaurant in the world you might care to mention. The owners/operators of this place are very clearly from Thailand and know exactly what they are doing, including sourcing their own ingredients from the grocery side of the business. We very often go completely out of our way to stop by this place when driving through Columbus--it's that good.
Best Thai food in Ohio and everyone who works there is great!
Kitt is very helpful! Store has a wide selection of tasty food
Love the variety of vegan options.
Man my food was Thrown together like it was a arrange marriage. I used to be homeless and I’ve ate out of dumpsters that had better food than that place. On God… Ps . They charge me five dollars for soy sauce
Best Thai food around
Great food and service. Been coming here for years. Still no dine in unfortunately which is why I give 4 stars. So sad to see the impacts of the govt restrictions on small businesses.
I got what I wanted there!
Best take out in Columbus...
tight and small place but overall good
My friend wanted take out from here. So we ordered Pho($13), Chicken and Beef Pad Ka Pow($11), and 6 piece Baby Spring Rolls ($5). Right now they are only taking to go orders. While I was waiting for my food to be prepared I went and checked out the connected grocery store. they have sone great item as! Pretty much anything you can think of. The owner was very nice and helpful. I will definitely be back. It took about 15 min for my food to be prepared. The Baby Spring Rolls were delicious! I liked the Pho but I wasn’t a fan of the meat so I think I will order it without meat from now on. My friend also really liked her Pad Ka Pow! I will definitely be back.
A friend from the east side of Columbus told us about the restaurant a few years ago and it’s been our go to Asian restaurant since despite living on the other side of town. We really enjoy the grocery next door as well.
Food is fantastic. Prices are good.
Absolutely love this place! Been going there for 20 years. Some of the best food in the country 👌
Pad see ew is great here, Tom ka gai soup also, sticky rice, most of the stuff is great, I don’t like their pad Thai though
Best Thai food and in particular the best Phad Thai in the Columbus area!
This restaurant is so delicious! We always have the chicken basil rice! It's worth it every time. I'm definitely interested in checking out their grocery store more, I've only walked through it.
good selection for philippines.
I can usually find the cooking supplies I need here, which is surprising since it's not that big a market, and it's close by. Definitely fills my needs on the market side.
On the restaurant side (doing takeout only during the pandemic), the food is outstanding, with generous portions and authentic flavors, and I always leave there planning what I'm going to try on the next visit.
Wonderful Asian grocery store and restaurant, the best on the East side!
No dine in available so we left.
If you don't have dining, please don't advertise indoor dining. Made plans to meet with friends there (we're out of town). Had to change plans. Super frustrating.
This place has the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had. Spring rolls are beautiful too. This is my #1 go to. Hands down favorite place to go.
