Really enjoyed my meal at Cilantro Thai. I did a carryout order of the Massaman curry and the dry rub zap wings, extra crispy.
The massaman curry has potatoes, carrots, white onion, and peanuts in a creamy rich yellow curry sauce. It comes with a side of rice for about $17. It’s a generous portion with a full container of curry, and an additional side container of the white rice. I would definitely order this again!
However, I think the star of the meal is the dry rub zap wings. It’s one of the three wing types they have on their menu, but I really loved how big, crispy, and juicy these wings were. They were piping hot when I picked them up, and they’re coated with a great dry Thai chili rub, providing an excellent salty flavor and spicy kick. These are a must order! Really hoping to try their other wing flavor soon, as I’m sure they’re also excellent.
Wish I did not trust the reviews before ordering here. The food is extremely bland and unsalted! Pad Thai looks great but lacks any sort of flavoring what so ever. Also for an additional $3 you get 3 small pieces of shrimp. $21 for one pad Thai with chicken that is underwhelming is disappointing to say the least. Save your money and try a different Thai restaurant.
One positive thing about the pad Thai I ordered is that I requested it to be extra spicy and it was definitely spicy enough to my liking. I just wish they added all the other flavors they’re supposed to.
Despite being, quite literally, a hole in the wall, the food at Cilantro Thai was delicious, combining fresh ingredients with big, bold flavors. In keeping with it being an “express” restaurant, the menu isn’t super extensive… and prices are also slightly high. Moreover, when we went on a Friday evening there were only 2 employees trying to operate the entire shop; they were doing a valiant job, but service was a bit slow as a result.
Note: plan to order takeout if you come here. Even if one of the two tables in the restaurant happens to be empty, the space isn’t particularly conducive to dining in.
I got takeout here and ordered the chicken pad Thai at the highest spice level they offered and the golden tofu. Golden tofu was good, and I liked the sauce it came with. The tofu wasn’t oily and had nice crispy edges. The chicken pad Thai however had no flavor and wasn’t even spicy. Chicken was really dry and weirdly enough the noodles as a whole were a little dry too.
we ordered through Door Dash. First time ordering - food was delicious. Tried both wings - very good. Spice level was spot on. We also ordered two entrees that were just a delicious. Will order again!!
Few months ago was my 1st experience and it was AMAZING!! The Thai Basil fried rice was so refreshing.
This time I got same thing and not a piece of Thai Basil in sight. Didn't even taste like it and it was very light colored compared to how dark it was last time. It was dark and I didn't want today drive back out in the cold to get it rectified. Was such a big let down. Idk if I'll be going back. I'd hate to have to check my food before I leave bcuz then ima want to eat it there bcuz it smells so amazing. Guess I'll stick to the wings.

Just ordered chicken pad thai...BLAND...NOT A GOOD VALUE...there was no seasoning, it was extremely dry and the chunky uncut vegetables were not complimentary...will not return even though in my neighborhood...will stick to Peppermint Cafe for consistently best pad thai...
Best pad Thai in cle
The Crab Rangoon are so good!

Was excited to see that there was a new Thai place nearby. Really disappointed with the food. Very bland, won’t be coming back.
Phase Thai and curry were delicious. Hot means hot.
Best Thai food on the East side.
Can’t believe I just found this place recently, terrific location!
Amazing curry! Perfectly spicy and the tofu was great. The vegetables were fresh and the curry sauce was so good
How did I not know about this place before??
Got carryout here for the first time last night and I was so happy with the whole experience! Their online ordering user interface is really nice and easy to use, the food was ready FAST, and was literally piping hot, and it was absolutely delicious! I think we will be working this into our normal rotation of restaurants to hit up when we're in the mood for carry out, for sure!
I can't provide a review for this place, as we decided not to eat here, but I did want to add the pic of the menu, since there wasn't one posted when I looked. We decided not to eat here because we were looking to eat there. Though they had seats and tables available for us to sit and eat (and we didn't mind this set-up), but what led us to find another dinner place is that the inside was VERY warm, and it was low 70's that evening. Maybe I'll go back and try the food next time and update my review.
Best Thai food and service in Cleveland heights, held me together through my pregnancy :) love them!
This place is amazing. Food tastes great and everyone is friendly.

Delicious, but kind of pricey. I would go again definitely.
I really liked the crabmeat fries. The spring rolls were really good too! My friend really enjoyed the garlic wings.
Clean, friendly, smells like heaven! Food is delicious and the chef is fantastic! Prices reasonable. Will definitely be back.
I don’t know where to start… east side for Thai AMMMAAAAZINGGGGG…! Not to mention the sneaky surprise of a gem next door with a beautiful chill face Maria slinging drinks! But back to the Thai food phenomenal we’ll be back!!!!
i'm so glad this place exists, hot amazing food in the late evening
Ordered takeout via their website. I requested gluten free due to an intolerance, and they called to let me know that unfortunately they are unable to make their curries gluten free and to offer a replacement (most noodle and rice dishes can be made gluten free!). I appreciated the option to replace the curry I had ordered rather than just having it canceled. My husband had the beef pad Thai. I had the pad kee mao and basil fried rice, both with tofu and gluten free. Everything was delicious. Medium spice had a decent kick (from someone who likes some spice). I assume they had to leave out the soy sauce on my gf dishes, so I did pop on some gf tamari before eating for extra flavor. A little pricier than our other go-to Thai place in Cleveland Heights but will definitely be a repeat customer.
This was my first order. The food is OUTSTANDING! I got one beef, one chicken and one veggie dish. Everything was fresh. Each dish had its own set of complex flavors. Best Thai I’ve ever had in Cleveland!
The best in CLE
While I loved my order and everything that was included, I would like to highlight the “portion” aspect. The wings could be at least 25% bigger. SMH the flavor was absolutely unmatched and unquestionably the best flavor I’ve tasted on chicken. But I do wish to have had “more”. I’ll be back of course. Lol, just thinking maybe bigger wings. More than happy to pay the price adjustment.
Zap wings and Chicken pad Thai, HELLLLLL YEAH!
Small dining room, beware. I think there are only 6-8 seats.
Went to Cilantro Thai for second time tonight, and it was as fresh and delicious as the first! So happy to have found local Thai that is actually spicy! This a takeout place where you just pick up your food and go, but I'm giving the atmosphere 5 stars for cleanliness, friendliness and efficiency.
Definitely try their crab fries! AWESOME
What a lovely experience! It's always a wonderful experience to dine and have the experience of a home cooked meal. They even provide wifi as a courtesy. Looking forward to my next visit.
pad kee mao- better order "hot" spicy ,then you can taste something.
Pad see ew- bland
Green curry- too sweet, vegetable so soft, must be heat up too long.
Massaman - don't know what is it. No taste at all.
Shrimp pad thai with " hot" order, had a little taste.
Price -too steep for not so good food.
GREAT place BUT I would have LOVED to dine in and eat
DO NOT EAT HERE! This place used to be called Thai Express the owner is his mother, she was in so much debt that she allowed her son to come and bail her out. Now it’s in a NEW name, he is same as she. These people do not care for food sanitation, I have proof of mishandling food around roaches & serving old food and storing food improperly then serving it to the public!! They do not care about the people in the community by serving them old food. I have my RECEIPTS, DO NOT EAT HERE.
Food was amazing! Red curry was delicious, but all of our company loved their dishes as well. You can’t go wrong! We have found our new go-to Thai restaurant!
So friendly, genuine, and the food tasted fresh, and as someone who has rarely had Thai food, the sauces and spice levels (they give 3 options of spiciness for entrees) were soooo good.
The appetizer dry rub wings are absolutely amazing. I’ve been trying to find a restaurant that makes crab rangoon like I’m used to (cream cheese filling) to no avail until I ordered from this place. The presentation of the food was amazing, but the food is so good I couldn’t recommend this place enough.
Checked it out since people have been raving about this place and wanted to support a new small business.
Everyone working there were very nice and had our food ready quickly, in about 12-15 minutes. The food was piping hot. Note that this is not a place to stay & eat with more than 2 people because of the seating layout. The yellow curry sauce was really good, rich & buttery, but we did notice that the veggies were not all thoroughly cooked, especially the potato. The pad thai was a bit heavy on the fish sauce and light on the citrus for my liking, but that could just be me! Overall good 🙂
Beautiful new interior! AMAZING food! Wonderful service! Best Thai food on the east side!
Had the wings a day ago🥰🥰🥰. The hot is a perfect freaking wing😋😋😋😋😋😋
I'm glad to have stumbled across this place! Everything we ordered was really delicious. The owners were very nice also. Try it - you'll be glad you did!
Nice little place. Very friendly, generous portions and good flavors.
Super delicious curry and rice was perfect. Egg rolls and rangoons were crunchy and so good, glad to see a great Thai place in the area.
What a wonderful surprise to find just around the corner. I haven't had this delicious Thai food nearby since Mekong River closed and this is much better even than that. Had their Pad Thai with vegetables and Masman Curry with Tofu and every bite was a treat.
Ordered spicy Pad Thai take out and was not disappointed! Massive quantities easily make it worth the price. They did a good job making it spicy like I asked for. I was checked out by the owner who was extremely warm and welcoming. Glad to see this place in town, can’t wait to try some other dishes!
My wife and i came in on the 2nd day they were open. We were greeted warmly and the place had an elegance about it. Spicy crab fries and the WingZap. Delicious.
