They have been making Asian food since 1996. Right across the street from Washington Park (stop #14 on the free Cincinnati Bell Connector trolley). The food is yummy! I’m definitely coming back. Who would have known that I would have found a nice Thai and Japanese place in Cincinnati Ohio… really close to downtown. I took the free Cincinnati Bell connector trolley from downtown to this place 0.7 miles away or so and was very happy. They make this amazing natural ginger dressing for their ginger salad $7 (cherry tomatos, lettuce, spinach). It’s pure ginger and carrots and other ingredients. It’s rare that any restaurant makes this pure natural tasty ginger sauce like they do. The seafood delight $16 was tasty with their home made brown sauce and a medley of mussels, salmon pieces, imitation crab, shrimp, carrots, broccoli, onion, and I asked for extra garlic which they were kind to add. It comes with Jasmine rice so you don’t pay extra for rice :-). I always get upset at other restaurants when they charge for rice bc how can you charge for rice that is not only necessary as a staple with dishes but it’s not expensive. The 2 spring rolls are fried and come with 3 sauces (spicy red, mustard, and sweet and sour) and it’s $5. I personally didn’t like the spring rolls much bc I love the ingredients but would prefer it to be rolled in rice wraps without the deep fried skins. It would feel healthier and would taste better to me. The staff were great and the owner was gracious and kind and humble. The decor is soothing and pretty. The bathroom is clean. It’s right on the same side as the Cincinnati Bell connector trolley so it’s very convenient to get to. And you can hop back on before 11:30pm when it stops running Monday to Friday. It also runs on weekends but not that late. Overall great place and next time I will try the Japanese food. But will also try the Pad Thai.
This is a really cool place. Went here to get a drink prior to our dinner reservations at a different restaurant. However, we did end up getting the popcorn chicken app and Miso soup and both were very good. I did not rate the food since that is all we got, but everything that we saw came out of the kitchen looked amazing. The service was great and friendly. The restaurant gets busy very quickly. We got there at 5:20 or so and sat at the bar. At that time, there were only 1 or 2 tables in use. We sat at the bar and by 6:00, almost all the tables were taken and the remaining bar seats were full. Great place and we will definitely be back.
I had the green curry with duck, the duck addon is a little pricy: I'd prefer to see a crispy duck on top at this price, but the curry and duck were very good as well as our drinks. My friend also liked his pad see ew. Portions were generous (especially on the duck curry), and I had leftovers to take home, though neither of my friends did. I'll be sure to return next time I'm in the area, it's a great location with good food!
Really nice looking restaurant with a great menu! I got the Thai chicken dish and I think it was good but I would probably enjoy other items more! The crab rangoons were also super flavorful.
We went during lunch with a large party and the staff was still very accommodating. The food came out quick and overall it was a great experience 👍🏽
I’m from out of town (Arizona) and we made a stop here for dinner.
We ordered a ….
•teak passion fruit margarita (rating 10/10 )
•Crispy duck (rating 7.5/10)
•Sushi: Crystal roll (rating 3/10) , Crunch munch roll (4/10)
Crystal roll was on chefs special. It didn’t have a unique taste and the eel sauce (in my opinion) threw off the taste
Crunch munch was really salty and pairing it with soy sauce didnt really help dilute the saltiness
There was also a hair stuck under the duck.
From the outside, this place looks like just an average business in Cincinnati trying to impress. But once you walk in, you notice immediately how hard they work to impress. They put a lot of time in the chandeliers and certainly made the floors look first class. Music is just at a perfect volume for a conversation to be held. The food was prepped perfectly and built to give the customer a great time. Staff was super friendly and certainly extremely helpful. Bathrooms are certainly lovely and clean. My complaints are strictly in just the water pressure when washing your hands which hardly is enough to knock off a star. This place was quite fulfilling.
Great restaurant. 1 of my favorites in Cincinnati
I recently visited Teak OTR for the second time. My first experience was enjoyable—I had sushi, and it was quite good. On this visit, I decided to try a couple of appetizers along with the chicken Pad Thai, one of my favorite Thai dishes.
The appetizers—spring rolls and shrimp cream puffs—were delicious and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the chicken Pad Thai was a huge letdown. The chicken itself was completely flavorless, lacking any seasoning, and the noodles had no sauce, leaving the entire dish bland and uninspired. I asked for a side of peanut sauce to salvage the meal, which helped make it edible.
One of my dining companions had the same issue with her tofu Pad Thai, reinforcing that this wasn’t just an isolated mistake. Since we were on our way to a show and didn’t have time to wait for a replacement, we ate what we could, though it was far from what we had hoped for.
I mentioned the issue to our server, explaining that the dish had no flavor at all, and she assured me she would inform the kitchen. However, I was surprised to find an additional $1.50 charge for the peanut sauce on my bill. Given the circumstances, I would have expected better service recovery.
Overall, this visit was very disappointing. While I enjoyed my first experience at Teak OTR, the inconsistency in quality and lack of attention to detail in such a staple dish make me hesitant to return.
the food is OK I had fried rice I'm married to a thai woman from issan thailand 🇹🇭 😋 I guess I'm spoiled I was expecting better where's the chilies and soy sauce and the papaya salad was old and no chilies I ordered from uber eats and I picked up myself thai express is the best in the city
I am a professional offshore fisherman. This was HANDS down the best sushi I've ever had in the USA. I fish all around the world and eat the freshest fish there is. I was blown away by the quality. I also got the chicken and broccoli.......I however made the mistake of getting the #8 spicy range. Lol I was on fire. Going with spicy level #3 next time. I'm a huge spicy guy and this was incredibly spicy. But sooooo damn good. Thank you TEAK. Service and atmosphere was out of this world as well.
Definitely a gem! Would definitely go back.
Great Thai restaurant, and service is always fairly quick as long as they're aren't completely packed.

Food was really good and very reasonably priced. Service was excellent, too.

Fantastic downtown OTR location! Great food, service and atmosphere!
Great Thai restaurant in Cincinnati
This place did not live up to the hype. It’s really small inside but they packed it full of tables, so much so that I couldn’t get up to go to the bathroom without making someone else at my table move. And even though we had a reservation and arrived on time they didn’t have enough chairs at our table. We had to ask twice for them to bring another one.
The food was meh and took a while to come, and even though you order at a spice level my meal was really inconsistent. Some bites were crazy spicy and others had no flavor at all.
Disappointing because I wanted to love this place but I just didn’t.
Completely empty. Refused to seat my wife and her friends for lunch because she had our two well behaved daughters with her. Will be looking into discrimination filing with the city. Restaurant does not state adults only…
Sai is the best@
Pork belly pad Thai was exceptional
Owner is very rude . Staff is wonderful. Would recommend rosewood and not here
They will charge you $2 to add spicy mayo . Also they changed my amount after I picked up my order and charged me an extra $4 for green onion and basil after I had already paid $20 for the fried rice .
Convenient location downtown. The service was excellent. Lots of great menu choices. I had the miso soup and seaweed salad, both of which was delicious. The eel roll was very good. I wasn't a fan of the Japanese Bagel roll, the cream cheese just wasn't right.
I love this restaurant. There are plenty of options for dietary restrictions and the food is delicious. However, we made a reservation for today celebrating 2 birthdays. When we got there, there was a line out the door of about 8 people and no one was seated or acknowledged for long enough that the people in line were getting upset and debating on leaving. Even with our reservation, we weren't able to find a host to tell them we had a reservation. After waiting for about 20 minutes in line with no hostess, we decided to leave and go somewhere else. It was a very disappointing experience. 3 other parties in like also had reservations and 2 of them also decided to leave and find another restaurant.
Great place to eat before going to see a show at the Music Hall. Quick, excellent service and very good food. Reasonable prices.
excellent food, great service. will return.
Teak is unique in that it offers Thai and sushi. Both sides of the menu are delicious. I definitely recommend the jungle noodles if you like a variety of ingredients and that spice!
Had a delicious meal with great service even though it was probably one of their busiest days ever. We made reservations through OpenTable that didn't get communicated to Teak and they were still able to seat us during Blink. Our food and service were both excellent, and bang for the buck was very good as well. I can't wait to go back to try more items on their menu.
A drink got spilled on accident and the Indian looking manager was extremely rude about it. I was doing a delivery, I eat here all the time, but now I'm second-guessing ever coming back. The service has been going downhill for quite a while.
Delicious food in a pretty spot near Washington Park. Don't underestimate the spice! 🌶
I ordered food through DoorDash. I received the food and a timely manner, but the food did not taste like anything. It lacked taste. There was supposed to be spice in it. All they did was sprinkle red pepper flakes on top of my food. It came with no sauce no anything even after I ask for soy sauce or something to put the food was dry, it was dry. It was nasty. It was overcooked when I took the food back to the restaurant. They refused the refund or to make it right and said that he has been cooking for 25 years and never had a complaint that is not the way that you handle a customer . I left the food on the counter and walked out the door. I spent $30 on this food for lunch at work and I’m still hungry and without my $30 I will never visit this restaurant again
Went for dinner. Made reservations that day without problems (can’t say that always the case). Great wine and beer selection. I had a mixed drink and it was very good. Crab Rangoon appetizer might be one of the best we’ve had. The dipping sauce for them was excellent too. I ordered the salmon for dinner-it was really good. My wife ordered Thai Spicy chicken. Lots of vegetables and a good sauce. Large portions, so we took some home for leftovers . Service was very good.
Showed up at noon to an empty dining room. Service was slow, food was good-not great.
Food was average. Nothing stood out. Decent if you are in area but would not drive out of your way to go here.
I’m from out of town (Arizona) and we made a stop here for dinner.

I have eaten sushi and Thai food my entire life. Teak is BY FAR the most flavorless Thai or Sushi I've ever had, and the sushi rolls are ridiculously overpriced and tiny.
The sushi rice had ZERO flavor. None.
The fish freshness was questionable at best.
The green curry was the saddest, most watered down curry I've ever tasted.
$80.00 totally wasted.
Seriously, just buy sushi from Kroger. It tastes better than Teak.
Always great!!
We have been here at least 5 times and it’s by far our favorite Thai. Great appetizers (spring rolls are our favorite), sushi, and Thai dishes!
I just want to say, I do not like getting to a restaurant a 1/2 hour before they close. I like to be at a restaurant no later than an hour before closing time.
With that being said, my husband and I walked in about 35 minutes before closing time and at first was turned away by, I am assuming one of the waitresses/hostess, told us the kitchen closes at 9 PM even though closing time listed is 9:30 PM. The manager then stepped in and told the hostess we will take them and please seat them.
I was so grateful he did that for us. He has been so good to us every time we have eaten here. I do not know his name, I have not seen name tags on the employees, but this kind treatment has been so refreshing to experience. My family will be back soon!!
Teak was actually very good! The vibe was a little busy for us because we made the mistake of booking a reservation on an FC game day lol so it was pretty loud inside. But I'm sure an evening on a non game day would be very nice and a little quieter! The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent! The food was hot and fresh and tasted wonderful! We got the Wok Seared Izumi Dai, the Volano Roll, and the Angry Dragon. I'd recommend all three! I'm sure we'll go back!
One of our favorite places to go before an FC Cinci match
The staff knew just what I was trying to order. The food is totally delicious. I most definitely will be back to treat a person I know. Service is excellent. No complaints here. Once you try them out, you will be back. I promise you 💯. Enjoy the atmosphere..relax..chat and order more to take home
Recently went to teak as I've heard a lot about the food there being good.
The positives are that the food is great, service is great, your attended to frequently and it's a pretty cool looking place.
The negatives at least for me is the fact that it is so crowded! I personally am not a fan of the seating just to have a bunch of tables in a room the way that they have it seems unorganized. It almost feels like kind of being at a stadium. Except for the seating is not like that of course. It just seems like to get up and to move around you have to walk past everybody's so closely. I know I would prefer more privacy while I'm eating and I would think a lot of people would. To completely open concept almost literally with tables jam-packed. I know that they need to have that many tables because that many people will come in but perhaps it would do some justice if they were moved even just 2-3 tables..... something?!?!?! Or maybe if it's possible to change locations one day to accommodate for a bigger space but keep it in OTR that would be great too!
Overall what counts is that we had a wonderful time. In the future I would prefer something that has more space with great food and service as well. :)
The last few times I've gotten take out the food has been mediocre at best. Today I ordered vegetable green curry. The rice is super over cooked, and the green curry is full of clearly frozen vegetables - little square carrots, hard peas, hard green beans, and the green & red peppers are completely mushy. So it looks like I just spent $17 for frozen veg and mushy rice. I think this is finally going to be the last time I give Teak any more chances.
An absolutely pleasant experience. The table is even too small for all the food we ordered! The dishes have a different twist, creative Thai food. The crispy duck was spectacular, and servers and owners were very friendly. Great value, and don't forget to try the cocktails and give a good tip to the waiter/waitress.
This is hands-down the worst Asian/Thai food I’ve ever had in my life. I ordered the Pad Thai & Wonton Soup for takeout. Both were remarkably flavorless. I literally had to put a pinch of salt in my mouth to make sure I haven’t lost my sense of taste (I haven’t). Save your time and money by going literally anywhere else.
Food is not great. It’s not “gross” but it’s absolutely flavorless, especially for Thai food which is bursting with flavor. We got the red curry and pad see ew. Definitely wouldn’t take out of towners here or anything and probably won’t come back.
Perfect in every way. Spice level was right on...the Pad Thai was delicious. Live this place!!
Real was just amazing! I had the Chicken with cashews and iI was able to get it Gluten Free. Everything was yummy and looked great!
The most wonderful soup I have ever eaten. I ordered the hot pot and it was delicious. My son loved his sushi. We also shared the crab rangoon appetizer. Everything was delicious. Our beautiful waitress was so sweet, and the atmosphere was laid back. This is the kind of restaurant you go to to relax and chat with a friend or loved one. The food was unmatched. Compliments to the chef 😚
Delicious food and atmosphere! Loved sitting outside. The sushi was particularly good, and don't sleep on the Thai coffee!
I love their food. One of the best Thai food spots in town. I love their spice calamari appetizers and the crispy duck. Everything is so delicious that you can't go wrong ordering any food. Great place to enjoy your food before going to symphony or any shows at the music hall. Must have a reservation, as they are always packed!
Delicious!
Gluten free friendly place! Good for gluten free thai food, gluten free asian food, gluten free stir fry, etc. Nice ambiance as well!
We were a group of 6 people. The server offered great service. The food was so good. Everybody tried different foods. I loved their Pad Thai. Definitely will come back.
Good food, nicely prepared. Pad Thai was a little on the lighter side, not in portion but weight of the dish (which I didn't mind actually). Friendly staff. I'd say 4.5* place. Sushimi roll was beautifully presented. As it stands, the overall on google is 4.2* so I'm rounding up - take that mr. overall google rating!
I have driven past this place quite often and was excited to dine there. I noticed right away the front rug and the entrance to where the servers and the cooks are was not clean. Our waitress was semi-friendly. The food was disappointing! The spring rolls were not hot. My husband and I both gave it a 5/10. I will not dine there again. Thank you!
Great food, great service!
I love Thai curry, and this is my go to in Cincy!
Absolutely delicious sushi and Thai restaurant- well priced and lots of flavor. Great service too.
The jungle noodles are the bomb! Classy joint.
Food is amazing but host staff is pretty awful at night. We waited 45 mins and the host never took a name. If someone is waiting for a table, you should ALWAYS take their name. After working in the restaurant industry for several years, that is standard restaurant procedure. We left and went somewhere else not willing to wait another hour once he finally wrote our names down.
I took my wife and daughter to Teak for Valentine's Day dinner. I discovered a hair in my food. I should have brought it to the attention of the restaurant. That experience took the joy out of the meal.
Busy on a frigid Friday night. No rez so we found a place at the bar. Tasty aromatic food warmed us and hit the spot.
We ordered a bunch of sushi rolls and they were okay. The Alaskan salmon was mostly cucumber with very little salmon in it. The sashimi roll was mostly fake crab and cucumber with small pieces of fish. The Spider roll, salmon nigiri and crab rangoons were our favorites. Prices weren’t horrible but felt like it skimped on the good parts of sushi. Ambiance was nice and good location in OTR.
This place was fantastic when it was in Mount Adams and it's even better now. Sushi, the roast duck, and the tea were outstanding.
Best sushi I've had in a good while. Great atmosphere, and great team of workers that give great service! Excellent all around!
Food wasn't great. Manager kinda rude.
Loved it! Was a great spot!
The pad Thai and sushi tasted old. The Indian manager that works there was very rude to us
The Pad Thai is not even close to authentic Thai recipes. It lacked the fish sauce, and the flavor was bland. I don’t recommend this place, especially if you’re looking for authentic Thai cuisine.
The eel cucumber roll was incredible. I'll be back for more
The doors didn't open at opening time. The server's weren't that friendly. I thought the food was good, but my BFF just thought it was ok. I like the interior design and the fact that is was a cross from Washington Park and next to a church that had bells in the tower that were beautiful when the sounded. In the picture it's on the very right corner
Great place for dinner if you're seeing a show downtown. Right off Washington Square. They were happy to substitute veggies for meat in my dish, pretty much customizing the stir fry just the way I like it. Food was good, service was excellent, and location was convenient. Not overpriced which is unusual these days. Love the chandeliers.
The Thai seafood dish made my wife sick. Missed our show at Music Hall. My food was ok, but nothing special.
We have been going to Teak for nearly 30 years fun back when it was in My. Adams. They must be one of the first Thai restaurants in Cincinnati and long before it became main stream. I think the significance of their tenure is they really know Thai cuisine (and the sushi is also excellent). I love the curry dishes, holy basil, and chicken Thai spicy. One thing to note if you have not eaten at Teak, they are not afraid of some heat.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Believe the other reviews about the manager and how bad the service here is. There was a faulty light above us that was flickering and we asked to be seated somewhere else. Given that was an empty restaurant and there were tons of other available tables we thought this wouldn’t be an issue. But the manager said we can’t sit anywhere else except the 2 tables beside this flickering light. To the hostess benefit she tried to turn the lights off but the chandeliers were still flickering. This ruined the entire experience for us someone in our party was sensitive to flickering lights. I don’t understand why the manager was that stubborn. Also the food was over sauced and the fish was not fresh.
Soooooo good! LOVED the sushi! Excellent service! We stopped in for a small bite before going to Music Hall for a show. So happy we did! We're making our way back for dinner!
We came after a Sunday afternoon Bengals game while we waited for the traffic to die down. We had the pork dim sum and a few specialty rolls as well as the heart attack appetizer. For rolls we ordered: J.Lo, spicy yellow tuna mix roll, and the crazy tuna. The J.Lo was fried it was good but probably would try something else next time. Crazy Tuna was by far our favorite and we will order again on our next visit!
Absolutely delicious. Sat at the bar. Service was great. I got the pad thai with pork belly.
💯
I absolutely love this place but when you order mussels you don't expect to find 4 or 5 in the batch are no good because they were still closed after being cooked
The pork belly was great and the soup was good. The papaya salad could have been better.
Edit: PLEASE READ THE OWNER'S RESPONSE, an adult child, apparently. Following that, honestly, I appreciate you letting me know those other locations also belong to you, so I know not to go there. Anyone that would serve spoiled, bruised food to their customer, and duck feather quills, or absolutely ANYTHING ELSE INEDIBLE, without even an apology, is not a restauranteur, but an amateur. All but the first star removed in all fields.
OP: Seems like the kitchen staff has gone downhill quite a bit over the last several months. My wife and I used to love going here for dinner dates. This most recent experience pretty much turned us off completely.
I ordered a rainbow roll and Alaska roll. The rainbow roll came with bruised/rotted avocado on top, bruise prominently displayed on the top of the roll. I should have taken photos. The Alaska roll looked like they were rationing the rice. I don't need a cake of rice on it, but more than two grains thick is preferred.
For entrees we ordered pad Thai with pork belly and basil fried rice with crispy duck. the meats and vegetables were cut into massive chunks which made eating with chop stick a new level of tedious, impossible to eat as an ensemble. We ended up eating one or two pieces of meat/veg at a time and eating the rice/noodles separate.
The food was a good flavor, no issue there. However, the crispy duck came out with actual feather quills in the skin on a few pieces. Having some exposure to Asian cuisine and customs, it seemed a bit insulting to receive plates of food with enormous pieces of meat and vegetables that weren't properly cleaned before preparing, or QC'd properly at plating.
Waitress was super nice and helpful when making decisions. Gave great recommendations in the green curry mussels and sake choice. Food was perfect and what we were hoping to end a daughter/mom dinner date.
It was great. Food was fresh and flavorful. I’d recommend it
If there was a -ve I’ll def would have give one in a heart beat Terrible service the manager so rude I never encountered this type of manager behavior and I work in restaurants industry like had to pay for a food I haven’t even ate cause the sushi didn’t look good 🤦🏽♀️ disappointment over all i wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody I say stick to cloud 9 & drunken bento 💁🏽♀️
We were new to Cincinnati and staying in the OTR area. The purpose of our trip was to visit the Creation Museum and the Arc Encounter. They are so enlightening.
The restaurant gave us the feel of Cincinnati. Who knew it was such a great and important city.
Gluten free options for everything! Excellent!!
Don't bother with reservations, it makes no difference in the wait. The food is good, but there are equal ot better for the hassle
Great atmosphere, incredible food. Teak does not disappoint. Make a reservation, as it's always busy!
Never had crispy duck that wasn’t crispy. It was coated with a flour & the fat was still present in a thick layer. Why Chinese vegetables? Gave it to my dog after removing the skin. Waste of $. Not Thai
Good! We made a reservation prior to the FCC game.
Atmosphere wise it's a little cramped inside with tables but I understand they're trying to maximize. It didn't feel uncomfortable just slightly tight.
Cocktails were great. I tried a couple different ones, like the marg, etc and thought they were all tasty. Cocktail pricing felt appropriate.
We got a couple of different items. Who dey roll to start, Jungle Noodles, Pad See Ew and Siam Chicken.
Roll was good. Both noodles were great. I thought the veggies that came with the Siam Chicken were awesome. The chicken itself I wanted slightly more from it. To be clear you got two meaty pieces of chicken breast that were cooked really nicely ($19) but even with the sauce felt like it needed just a bit more to it. But again, slightly nitpicky. It was still good I've just been on a fried chicken around the world kick.
Overall will visit again. I went to the Old Teak at the end of their Mt. Adams run and it definitely felt a bit neglected. This is a welcome refresh. I SUPER appreciate the GF options. Will come down with more family that needs that so I could see this place become more of a go to for us. We do also have a cashew allergy though so slightly leery but still intend to check it out.
A great date spot. A niche spot, right next to the park, with great sushi!
Very nice location but the space needs something. The food, drinks, service, all were good, but the decor, not so much.
Never been. Remember the Mt. Adam's one... they were 6 stars. Saw you had 4 step your game up......
Pretty place. Food was not good. Rubbery meat, bland everything. The dumplings looked like they were from a frozen package. And undercooked.
We had an early dinner before going to the opera. The Pad Thai was very good and so was the Thai Spicy; tofu with both. The waitress was so nice and attentive. We will go back.
Didn't even get to try the food. Sat for 30 minutes waiting for someone to take our order before we got up and left. Should've known something was up when we got there and everyone in the restaurant still had their menu and no food.
First time here I have to say the food was amazingly good, however service was absolutely horrible. It took forever to get waited on once seated and longer still to get any of our food. The tables around us were seated much later than we were and they were halfway through their meals before we even got our soup. No apologies, no pretense that anything was even wrong, they even brought our chicken satay with three servings rather than the 4 it's supposed to come with. I would love to hear an explanation for why we were completely ignored.
NEW RESPONSE
Yes the chicken was replaced, however we were definitely ignored. I can understand a mistake when you're very busy but you were not "slammed". stop lying and making excuses. Service was outrageously bad, no one else got their food late.
As far as Thai restaurants go this is definitely one of the prettiest and most professional that I have visited to date. They were very accommodating to the large party I was a part of and expertly noted the dietary restrictions among my friends and adapted the orders accordingly without incident or awkwardness. The food was also delicious, with their crispy duck being some of the finest I have had. Will definitely be stopping by again in the future!
Good location as we were going to a concert at memorial hall after dinner. Food was good, as was the service. Loved the decor.
Great food and service and atmosphere. Our biggest problem was deciding what to order. The menu has many tempting options. Prices were quite reasonable and serving sizes were more than sufficient. We will be back.
The owner knew he'd had messed up my order, I tried talking to him with since, he clearly didn't like that, so he decided, not remake my food, & I feel like the customer is Always right, even after I was welling to bring the dish back, the owner still decided against it!...
Please be careful going to the Teak.... there new here! In the city, be careful
