We’ve eaten here quite a few times and the sushi is always excellent. We usually get it to go but dined in this time. Whenever we order it to go it’s ready in 20-30 minutes. Our dine in service was excellent and our server had a great personality as well as being professional. We ordered the rainbow roll, volcano roll and Neko roll. All were delicious! Sake was great too.

Tonight we elected to get our orders to go, and again, Neko knocked it out of the park! Got the order home and order was perfect. They consolidated some duplicate items, but that was fine with us, less boxes/packaging to carry. Quality/taste was no different than if we had dined in. Always a great experience at Neko!

Neko is great! The food is off the charts, we got 3 dishes… we got the Tom yum soup. It came hot and delicious, the other one had 5 different sushi rolls on it. The dragon roll, the rainbow roll, a cucumber+avocado roll, the Philadelphia roll, and the spicy jalapeño roll, which all were very good! The service was great. Our server was kind and patient while we ordered. That was an enjoyable dinner. Very well enjoyed and highly recommend. 😊😊

The Chicken Katsu, Curry, and Salmon Avacado roll was absolutely delicious. It never fails to blow us away everytime we order it. Must check this place out if your in pinehurst.

The worst service I’ve received in Pinehurst. It was a 2-plus hour experience because the waitress did not put in our order and when the order was received, it was incorrect and tasted mediocre. I understand that things happen and some nights are extremely busy, but there was not compensation of anything. Something as simple as, “Hey, we will comp everybody’s drinks or appetizers to apologize for our mess-up” would’ve sufficed. No visit from the manager. Nothing. I’ve always heard raving reviews about this place, but will not be back.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Neko. From the start, we waited an unreasonably long time for our server to take our order. When the food finally arrived, it was served in a staggered manner: 3 out of 9 people at our table received their meals an hour before the rest of us. To make matters worse, a large group that arrived after us was served, ate, and left while we were still waiting.

The issues didn’t stop there. Our server failed to ring in half of one person’s order, brought the wrong dish to another, and mixed up the checks. Throughout this ordeal, our cups were empty most of the time, and no one came by to apologize or address the situation. This level of service is baffling and unacceptable.

After years of dining at Neko, this experience has left such a negative impression that we won’t be returning. It’s clear that the quality of service has deteriorated, and I cannot recommend this place based on our experience.

Not much to say other than the food was very good. Ordered takeout, online, picked up at the door, was notified by automated text it was ready. Easy exchange. Friendly staff, nice location and ambience to the space. Will return to visit and hopefully soon.

We love the food and service here. Sam and Mun are both wonderful servers. Sushi has always been fresh and yummy! Our kids like chicken fried rice and Pad thai as well. They have another place in town for Ramen that's way good too...

Our server was fantaaaaaastic; didn’t catch his name but he looked like a Milo to me. Great guy. The food was even better than Milo’s service. We went during the open so I coulda done with less golf nerds but outside of that it was great.

My husband and I were touring the Pinehurst Village. A US Open destination. We are vegetarians and we love Sushi. We ordered a couple of veggie only sushi options and they were very good. We were very hungry and requested the lady attending our table for vegetarian entree options. She went inside and checked with the cook and we were told - No vegetarian options. Everything had either Fish or Oyster sauce. - we requested to speak to the manager to request something vegetarian and were told there was no manager. Just very surprised that in a destination which hosts the US Open a restaurant had no manager.

Pad Thai was ok but needed fresh cilantro and limes as a garnish.

It's probably the best sushi in this area. Way better than Maguros. We had dishes from most of the regions, and they all tasted great. Service was a bit slow, but overall, it was a great time. The Thai donuts are a must-have as well, so make sure to save some room for dessert.

Probably the best Sushi is have ever eaten. The amazing staff found out it was my birthday, they then brought out a dessert and sang. Very kind . The portions are huge .The restaurant was clean .Our new favorite place !!!

We have just started going back here after several years. We stopped going because we had a bad experience. This time we were pleasantly surprised. Service was good, food is really good. Small place and they are usually always full. Their ginger dressing is very good, the best in town. Everything we have tried from their menu has been really good. We will be back!

This has quickly become our go-to for sushi. Our first visit was dine-in, and the dinner crowd grew quickly. We ordered take-out tonight, and it was just as delicious. We’ve only had their sushi, but of all the rolls we’ve tried- every single one has been delicious. My only complaint is that the dining room is pretty generic with very little privacy. Our service was slow the first visit, but there were more almost more customers than staff could keep up with. We used to drive to Raleigh or Fayetteville for sushi, and now we’re hooked!

Ordered lunch, was super excited! I had thought I set pickup to 12:20 but I didn’t realize upon checkout it changed it to 12:40 (my official order time was 12:06, which makes sense the system moved it to give them a enough time) I arrived at 12:20 and staff was super friendly, I felt bad I had arrived earlier than what was on my ticket, but they were super nice and helped me get my order as soon as they could. If you order takeout just be sure to verify your order time on the email! I was at work and couldn’t. Staff though was fantastic and nice about it.

Food is delicious! Definitely recommend the spicy krab rolls and krab Rangoons :)

Everytime we eat at Neko, the food and service are top notch. The service in particular is outstanding- very attentive and caring. We know that when we bring in out of town guests, that the experience there will not disappoint.

I should know better by now not to get sushi at aThai restaurant. I always start with a spicy Tuna and salmon skin roll bc they are basic and easy soo if you can’t get those right I’m not trying any other rolls . I ordered the sauces on the side. The kimchee sauce was really good so was the eel sauce. Hardly any salmon skin in my roll and the spicy tuna came in chunks instead of a nicely mashed combination. The tuna wasn’t fresh tasting but wasn’t that bad but you could tell it wasn’t good quality. The masago sashimi was sparce but nicely presented. I would never order sushi from here ever again. However, I think they specialize in Thai. I saw some other plates coming out that looked great. I’m not too familiar with Thai food but I have a feeling that this would be the spot for Thai food. I would definitely come back and try that if I ever make it back to town. Service was good and food come out exactly as I requested. I did eat everything soo it wasn’t too terrible, just not the spot for sushi.

I can’t say enough about this restaurant! First, they treat you and your kids like family! They actually got my toddler to eat more than two bites of his noodles with their sweet motivation. The sushi is fresh and delicious and the Thai noodles are very flavorful. I wish other restaurants would follow their lead because they truly make you feel like family! I am new to the area and was excited to try this place based on reviews. I admit I’m from a coastal area, so my standards are high when it comes to any seafood. This place just isn’t it for me. The sushi was just ok, nothing that made it special or set it apart as a sushi place. One of my rolls had a “fishy” taste, which equates to not fresh. I ended up picking out all the soft shell crab pieces bc they just didn’t taste good. My appetizer, crab Rangoon, was very good, and so was the fried cheesecake. I would go back and try other stuff on their menu, but the sushi is definitely not something I’d go back for.

If you know nothing about Thai or sushi, there is an opportunity to enjoy Neko Thai & Sushi.

The flavors of Thai are beautiful and the meal, despite being poor, generally from a flavor perspective, embodied the Thai flavor.
Rice was a major miss for the meal with sushi rice mushy and melted (see photo) and the incorrect rice being used with the spicy basil chicken.

Spicy basil chicken sauce was too thin and didn't stick to the wrong rice.
Thom Kah Gai was bland, the coconut milk was a little thinner for my preference but nearly unseasoned or spiced.
Thai beef salad was nice and the best part of the meal. The crab fried rice was also ordered and was good but one needs to understand that the crab is only added to flavor the rice, not as a protein for a meal. We waited about 20 minutes between finishing our appetizers before receiving our main course.

The restaurant was poorly decorated and the lighting was both too bright and exposed bulbs were blinding.

In summary; food was poor. Service was poor and the restaurant was uncomfortable. I would say I was disappointed but I was unable to imagine a Thai/Japanese menu ever working out.

What an AMAZING gem in downtown Pinehurst! We went for lunch and the value was excellent. With your entree you also had choice of soup or salad, and we both had the salad which had a delicious carrot ginger dressing. Also loved the option to have a Thai and sushi combo with lunch so we could try q little bit of both. The food was flavorful and the sushi was fresh. 10/10 recommend! We will definitely be back!

A couple of service opportunities, asked for the spicy Mayo on my Black Dragon Roll to be on the side...this appetizer was served after the Entrees were served, had Spicy Mayo all over it (there was an allergy concern), the waitress was notified and she did not offer to replace it...then we were charged $1 extra for Spicy Mayo...overall, we were happy and would return.

WOW! Just flew in from Austin, TX and boy was I glad to have found Neko Thai on DoorDash in Pinehurst. I had read reviews before my visit and heard nothing but amazing things about this place. The egg rolls and the Krab Rangoon were amazing. We also had Thai Fried Rice and Pad Thai. The heat level (medium) was perfect as well. We were happy to have a hot and super tasty meal after traveling all day. I’m sure i’ll eat here a few times before we leave Pinehurst. Thank you Neko!!

the interior design is completely absent, the air conditioner works normally only in one room, and it’s hot in the other ... the rolls are small .. california is not tasty .. they cook for a very long time .. very .. we came at 19.00 ordered at 19.10 .. and the dishes were brought in parts and the last one was brought at 21.00 ... unrealistically slow .. for four we spent $ 165 .. which is not cheap for such a quality of food ... there is no draft beer.

I brought the family here for dinner on the recommendation of a friend. It's in the location of the old Ten Ma restaurant at 70 Market Square. First, the food was excellent. We had the Katsu chicken and it was actually quite similar to the Katsu that members of the family experienced for many years in Japan. The coconut soup with added vegetables was also delicious as was the mochi green tea and strawberry ice cream we had for dessert. One thing that sets this restaurant apart from many in the area is the apparent availability of vegetables with dinner entrees. Many places at this price point will only include 1-2 very small pieces of vegetable, those compromising less that 2% of the overall volume of food. As a relatively educated family that makes significant efforts to eat healthy, we struggle to find establishments that will provide vegetables in the correct proportion and so appreciate that Neko does. In fact, the Katsu dan had more vegetables than rice and the vegetables were cooked correctly. For that reason alone we would return here. The only negative we experienced was that our server appeared to be rushing us to order, eat, and leave (going so far as to take menus away before we were done browsing). That put a bit of a damper on the experience and prevented us from ordering additional items. I'm not sure why this happened as the restaurant was not particularly crowded nor was it near closing time. I hope that this is something that management will take under consideration.

Wow, wow, wow! Best green curry I have had in the US, and I have hit Thai joints on both coasts. The staff is awesome, friendly, and fast! I scarfed down my lunch before taking a picture, so I will have to go back tomorrow I guess and get another dish🤣 You wont be disappointed!

First visit everything was delicious. Miso soup was savory, and filled with tofu and seaweed. Maki and uramaki (sushi rolls) were beautifully prepared. However, on the next visit I had bones in my roll, and service was off. Health inspection rating, a borderline A, needs a lot of improvement.

Food was great, tasted fresh and correctly seasoned, not overly salty or too sweet. The sushi is probably the best sushi in this town.

Very disappointed with my sushi tonite. Ordered chirashi (raw fish over rice) as I normally do from this restaurant but it was not fresh….also a much lesser quality of fish as they used to serve. I dine at many sushi restaurants in my travels and have learned that the fish purchased by restaurateurs is graded from hi to lower quality….obviously based on price. This restaurant has definitely downgraded their fish quality. If you enjoy sushi as I do…then I do not recommend this place. You will get much better fresh fish from Red Bowl in Aberdeen. Just spent 2 nights in Pinehurst and feel very fortunate to have found this place. We will return there every time we visit.

Great crab rangoon, with lots of crab in it. Squid salad was good, but a bit short on squid and long on cucumber. Tom kha gai was great, with a very fresh galangal taste. Satay was good, but was the only thing needing a little salt to pop the flavor. Panang curry was very flavorful and spiced as requested. Wife says Red Dragon roll was good.

We ordered Thru Grubhub…so the delivery issues will not be noted here. However the food was good and decently packaged. However, our rice that came with our chicken teriyaki wasn’t even full. We also asked for cutlery that was never placed in the bag. We were charged $5 for sweet tea and was given a small to go cup. We called and were told by the manger that the rice containers isn’t always filled up and he would be willing to take off one of the drinks for it. Ridiculous. On a good note, the temperature of the food was great. Everything tasted good and was packaged neat. If we eat there again it won’t be Thru delivery.

Neko is by far my favorite restaurant in Pinehurst. All the food is fantastic especially the sushi. Narupat Phumidist is not only a sushi chef but an artist, his creativity is wonderful. He always has something exciting to try. It tastes great and looks amazing. I have had Thai and Japanese off the menu and everything has been fantastic. The whole staff even the dish washer are professional and kind. Neko has become a bit of a second home for me. Their exciting food and welcoming atmosphere keeps me coming back. A must try restaurant in Pinehurst NC.

Neko had fast and extremely friendly service. Their sushi was on point, but the part that set them apart from others like Red Bowl was Their Thai ice tea and Thai iced coffee. Both of these drinks came in large tall glasses with crushed ice. They both tasted amazing.

Unexpectedly good Thai and Saki

The best Sushi and Thai we’ve had since moving to the Sandhills. We’ve eaten here twice and are very impressed. So far we’ve tried the Massaman Curry, spicy Krab roll, pad see ew, pad thai, Philadelphia roll, smoked salmon roll, chicken satay, and gyoza! All were delicious but our favorites were the smoked salmon roll, curry and pad see ew. The atmosphere and service were excellent.

went here for dinner with my wife. (she claims sushi is her COMFORT food) and we sat down at the sushi bar and both her and I agreed hands down BEST sushi we have ever had! service was GREAT! can not wait to come back and try some of the other things this AMAZING place has to offer!

Great staff and atmosphere. The Pad See-Ew was likely the best I've had. My wife's Pad Thai could have used more sauce. Overall, we will return again and again.

Not the greatest food I've ever had in my life (not an insult), but it is very reliably delicious every time. They have a wonderful staff and I enjoy going often. I love the drunken noodles and the staff was happy and willing to accommodate all of my specific requests. Very reliable and good!

Fantastic place to dine! Who would have thought Japanese and Thai would go so well together? The sushi are not only works of art - they are delish! The katsu and teriyaki were made well, clean tasting balanced flavors - perfection in every bite. I see some of my fav Thai dishes are being offered so I will have to come back to try those! I spy a wine bar in the corner, so not only a beautiful, bright, inviting Japanese and Thai vibe during the day to bring friends and family but it looks like they have a place for a little one on one! I absolutely recommend giving this place a try!

Love the vegetables that came with my plate, fits in my desire to eat more vegetables this year - 80/20. Usually rice portions are over served but I was happy to get the right amount! For those who are looking, there are plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options.

The only problem I have is trying to decide if I should leave room for dessert!

So delicious. Ordered fried calamari, seared tuna, shrimp panag curry. Also got my favourite Thai iced tea. We also got their donuts. Everything was yummy! Their service was great too. They were very attentive. We got there close to closing time (around 8pm) and did not feel rushed at all.

Very good and fresh. Sushi was probably the freshest I've had in the area. We also got the gyoza. It was good. Quick service. Will go back for sure to try their curry and other dishes.

Our party was skeptical in visiting this restaurant. A combination Sushi/Thai restaurant is not what we(people from somewhere other than South) are used to. But after being in BBQ and other southern style food, we were craving for Asian dining, specifically Japanese.

We were quite and pleasantly surprised. The Sushi, Sashimi, and Tempura were exquisite. The fish were fresh, cut properly, and presentation was great. The servers were attentive and courteous.

Just a short sidebar. The rice they use for Sushi is not traditional Japanese vinegar rice. Thus the 4 star. With proper rice, they would have received 5.

The Mexican roll... I think that's what it was, had a bit too much cream cheese in it but everything else was good... miso soup, shrimp tempura, spider roll. Staff was very friendly. Walls need a fresh coat of paint. Prices seemed reasonable. I'd go back again.

We arrived at 4:45 because they do not open until 5:00. We were one of the first families they seated, mind you they were not busy at all. The food was amazing but the service was anything but. A couple of our friends waited 45 min for their food. My husband and I wanted to share a plate and they brought us two separate orders. We asked repeatedly for refills and napkins and never got them. Even though we he menu states free refills, they tried to tell us we had to pay $3 per refill.

Beautiful ad quiet atmosphere. Perfect for a date. Half the sushi we tried was absolutely amazing and I thought the other half was good, my husband said it was only alright.

The sushi was pretty good but I've eaten sushi in Japan so my standards are very high. We also had Thai red curry which was very tasty and I would probably go back there for more Thai food.
