Great local gem. My favorite is their beef salad. Thai iced tea is not overly sweet and reasonably priced. Must try if you’re in the area.
My favorite Thai spot! I order from here at least once a week and am always happy. The green/ red/ panang curries are excellent.
The food was not only super oily, but it also tasted super bad. I ordered Pad See Ew and I regret it. The shrimp was over-cooked and rubbery and the noodles were super thick. Not only that the food had a nasty after taste which made me so disgusted. I'm will not eat here again
After several orders here, this is the last time. Never consistent on quality. I ordered a large Tom Kha Gai soup, sticky rice, and spring rolls. The rice was fine. The spring rolls were inedible due to the amount of oil soaked in them. The soup- first off, this is the not authentic Tom Kha.The soup was curdled and smelled absolutely foul which I’m assuming was from the chicken that also had a really strange colour as you can see. Appears to be “fresh” chicken with old chicken. It went straight into the trash.
Kinda confused about the mixed reviews tbh. I’ve been living in the JC/UC area for over 5 years now and the food is amazing every single time I’ve ordered. Not been disappointed ever. My favorite are the green curry noodles, but the curry puffs, fish cakes, the drunken noodles, are all fantastic!
This was a truly inspired menu. I had the yellow curry with duck. The duck was crispy on the outside, slices thick and very juicy, the veggies we're cooked but firm. My wife had the fresh ginger salmon, it was crispy and yet rare, the veggies were all cut fancy. With both dishes, we were blown away. We started with a couple of appetizers. Spring rolls and these curry potato thingies. I believe they were all house made and they were delicious. The decor is low-key. I mean, zero, 0, nada decorations. The server was awesome, so we're the other employees. I expect we will be back soon.

A simple authentic Thai restaurant with nice people, good food and good value
The food was not only super oily, but it also tasted super bad. I ordered Pad See Ew and I regret it. The shrimp was over-cooked and rubbery and the noodles were super thick. Not only that the food had a nasty after taste which made me so disgusted. I'm will not eat here again
The food was awesome ! Really delicious and authentic ! The owners are really welcoming. Food was in good quantity. And the place is very relaxing.
Not sure edible. Ordered the pad Thai and the summer roll. Both the worst that I have ever had. I had better Thai food from a mall food court.
My go to thai spot. Their spring rolls, curry puffs, thai iced tea and entrees are solid.
Highly recommend!

The crab rangoon, drunken noodle and sticky rice is so delicious
Great Thai food
Love their green curry.
I ordered food for 35 people and it was great. The food was really good and the people working there really nice.
I ordered from Roi Siam yesterday via Uber eats based on raving Reddit reviews. Wish I had checked Google ones too.
I got the jungle curry that was like clear broth and relatively tasteless and pad see ew with tofu. The noodles were a mushy and goopy mess with no bite to them. This dish too had very little taste. This place thinks that making the good spicy as heck means flavor. I was so disappointed as I was really craving good Thai food. Stay away!
I've ordered from there a few times and for the most part the food is good, I am mindful that this is a small business so I prefer to call and order up vs using the food apps that's take a chunk a percentage of their sales, however today I was extremely disappointed when I added salmon for the 1st time, nor with it at all, seemed boiled, and then heated up after being pre-frozen, horrible texture, dry, tasteless, I am so disappointed.
Okay food. Okay prices.
Not the Thai fried rice I'm used to. They separated the sauce, and it didn't taste... well, it just didn't click for me.
I’m so upset at myself for not trying this place sooner ugh from the tai ice tea to the pad see ew was so good my new favorite place
the food is good ion know why people are hating 🙁🙏🙏
The food is not good at all. Forget tasty, everything is soaked in oil from spring rolls to drunken noodles to even soup. I have never had such bad Thai food ever. There are much better places around, give yourself and your health a break from this restaurant.
Will give 0 starts if I could. The food was horrible, curry made out of just sriracha sauce, outright spicy no taste. The manager is not professional and outright abuse customers for their inability to prepare good food. Very bad and unexpected restaurant visit wont give them business again. STAY AWAY!!!!!
This is my favorite Thai food in the area. The food is always flavorful, delicious, and well prepared. They are closed Tuesdays which is unfortunate because sometimes I crave the food on Tuesdays and am disappointed to not be able to get it but besides that, everything here is great. This is my go-to for when I want Thai food.
Delicious authentic Thai food. Flavors were bold, spicy, and fresh. Staff was friendly and prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend.
Green Papaya Salad was amazing!! very spicy. Satay skewers were just OK.
Just moved to the area and was looking for a lunch spot, food here was DELICIOUS & amazing. Really good pricing too, highly recommend.
Absolutely Terrible. Spring rolls were soaked in oil. Not crunchy. Had some weird smokiness to it. Definitely shouldn’t have that.
Pad Thai was super dry. Wasn’t awful but it wasn’t good.
The drunken noodles are basically a salty, oily, congealed mess.
Won’t order here again.
Good food.
Good staff.
There are plenty of vegetarian options.
I will come back again.
The Crab Rangoon are the absolute best. Unfortunately everything else is EXTREMELY inconsistent when it comes to food quality and ingredients.
Quality of food has sadly declined over the past few months. My girlfriend and I have been loyal customers for well over a year and have noticed unwanted items in our food as of late. To be honest we’ve probably ordered a little too often from here, but who knows Roi Siam better than us?! Recently we found a piece of fabric and a shrimp tail in the food (we did not order the fabric or shrimp). We hope the quality improves to what it once was as there’s nothing like Roi Siam on a Sunday brother
After several orders here, this is the last time. Never consistent on quality. I ordered a large Tom Kha Gai soup, sticky rice, and spring rolls. The rice was fine. Authentic thai food. Huge portions. The pad thai is good but a bit too sour for my taste. $3 extra for shrimp but they were good. The pad see yu was ok, not sweet enough and a little burnt. Lunch special doesn't come with any appetizers. Mango sticky rice was also big and good. Fried calamari only came with the squid rings, no tentacles. Very friendly and fast service. If I come again, I would try the thai fried rice.
Food was amazingly fresh - best Thai food I’ve had in ages.
Fresh, quick, solid portions.
I order here once a week at least. Great food
I grew up eating at hole in the wall (legit)Thai Food in Elmhurst, Queens. Now that I live in Jersey, this place is great! The food at this restaurant is very tasty! I have only placed an order for delivery. Maybe one day I can come to the restaurant and enjoy the meal.
Extremely good thai place
Loved Green curry, Drunken noodles and Spring Rolls! Would definitely order again!
Was really excited to see khao soi on the menu. But super disappointed when I got my order. Broth is waaayyy too sweet and they don't even give you the condiments that you usually get with khao soi. The dish was clearly modified to fit the, um, western palette.
Delicious food, great service.
Love this place! I always get the house fried rice & Mango Sticky Rice, Curry, and/or Pad Thai. I love you guys so much man!!
The best pad Thai!!
That was GOOD!
The food is good, but the place can use a little renovation or update. As for the food - I ordered basil fried rice with crispy chicken and the chicken was very cold when it was brought to my table. I mentioned it to the server and she just shook her head 😩
Normally my kids love chicken satay, but no one in the family could eat theirs. The rest of their food was well below average..
The worst food ever, the food so grease doesn't taste good i would never come back to this place
Rice wasn’t cooked well, and I tried complaining and the lady who answered the phone was so rude and told me if I don’t know anything about the food I should ask questions and also read description first, and even at that tell me if I keep returning orders how do they make money. You’re very foolish, if you want to make money cook your rice well and don’t feed people with uncooked rice.
Good drinks
Absolutely love this place! Delicious food prepared by the NICEST family of restaurant owners. So glad they are in the neighborhood.
DELICIOUS!!!! pad thai, green curry both with shrimp and spring rolls. SO much flavor even the next day. Definitely some of the better Thai I have eaten. Nice portion and good price. Timely delivery as well although I know that is sometimes out of the restaurants control because they rely on 3rd parties to deliver.
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Hoboken/Jersey City area so far. I have tried most of their vegetarian items. Khao Soi and Panang Curry are must try items! It would be great if they make the food little spicier.
We usually get the curries, noodles and appetizers - all really good! I switched it up today and got the Beef Pho and it was awful. They had two types of beef and a meat ball (which I found bizarre). It was chewy, thick and had terrible taste. I had to throw it all away unfortunately. Stick to the Thai specialties.
Very happy with pad thai. Nice big portion. Prices are decent. Happy customer.
Loved the panang curry and pineapple and basil fried rice. Will be ordering again for sure.
Just don't add the carrots in the panang curry. Add red bell peppers instead.
The best Thai food you can get close to hoboken.
Omg so delicious. I bought a soup, a noodle dish, and a rice dish. Great food and reasonable price. The wait time was a little bit longer than I expected.
Food was awesome and prices were great. My wife and I had a Thai iced tea, a soup and 2 entrees for $35, and we left with leftovers.
Excellent chicken pad Thai and wings. Quick delivery, will definitely be ordering again
My husband & I’s first time ordering from here (delivery) and honestly we finally are happy we found a good take away Thai place! We lived in Thailand for years and haven’t had good luck with Thai food since returning to the US this year. We were intrigued by the menu as they had some Thai staples we loved to order that we don’t usually see on menus in this area- we had the pepper and garlic stir fry (it was so good & we were so happy to see it on a menu- along with many other dishes we will try another time!) and the pad kra pow (also amazing!) we shared the pad see yew which was good, nothing special but a decent dish. So pleased with our stir fried dishes we can’t wait to try a few other things next time we’re craving Thai take away. Portion sizes are great for the price as well.
This was my go to Thai restaurant and I must have ordered about 50+ times. BUT after last night pad thai with pork - the pork was definitely off so for that reason will not be returning.
Ordered a chicken pad see eew which was mediocre at best. I wanted it a little spicy and I found a few pieces of the VERY HOT Thai chili peppers...I couldn't stomach it 😖🌶 some noodles were stuck together and unedible. Portion was very big!!Flavor was okay, but felt like it was missing something. Overall I don't think I'll be trying anything else here......
Best red duck curry in the area. Pad Thai is also wonderful.
Excellent Thai food!
Worst noodles and fried rice I've ever had
Ordered Drunken noodles from Uber eats. Super fresh and absolutely delicious!!
Highly recommend this place.
Slop food. Drunken noodles. Worst I ever had. No flavor. Chicken wings were very greasy
I just started eating there in the past 2 months and it's been nothing but a great experience
Just Order the Pho and it’s was decent . Not the best though it’s lack a flavor profile and doesn’t smell like anything. Where Pho is supposed to have a strong aroma and flavor profile.
Great service, with top tier food at a decent price. Definitely take the time to try out their lunch specials.
I had the pad thai and Pad se ew from here and it’s delicious!!
The portions sizes are good and the food is super tasty and filling. Their thai iced coffee is definitely a new favorite for me. They also seem to take covid precautions seriously when picking up an order which is really reassuring.
This place makes some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had (and I’ve had many). Wanted to leave a review because the place doesn’t seem very busy and as far as Thai food is concerned it’s a gem. Love their tom ka gai as well as pad kee mao and all their curries are delicious. Also home to one of the best Thai iced teas I’ve ever had (could be personal preference though - different strokes for diff folks lol). Please patronize this place so they can continue to make delicious food!
Updated review: this place has lost its way. Their tom ka broth used to be a delicious coconut milky, limey, spicy concoction... tonight it was watery. The spice levels used to be perfect - I asked for medium which used to pack a punch and tonight I received a tom ka with no spice at all! Luckily I had my own red curry paste at home to rectify the situation. In the broth used to be tender mushrooms, beautiful red peppers, and chicken; tonight it felt like they took whatever was left over in the kitchen and put it in! Their pad Thai was below average. It just didn’t taste that good. Overall extremely disappointing as this used to be my favorite Thai place in the area. From authentic, truly delicious cooking to barely average Thai dishes in less than a year. You could taste the love and passion in these dishes. That is all lacking now. Three stars as a challenge to return to your former delicious selves.
Great food and nice owners.
The Pad See Ew is awesome.
Amazing portions, the quality makes up for the little extra wait time. Tip them well the authenticity is astounding
We had chicken Curry and the Taste was good, however the chicken was tough as leather and it seemed they just dumped the green beans in it before pouring into the take out container! Then we had the pad Thai with pork. The same tough pork made it hard to chew! The taste of the noodle was very good though! And finally the spring rolls were awful! Perhaps undercooked?! Not crispy and not tasty!
Having ordered from Roi Siam on more than one occasion the food and service has been generally good. Today however not so good at all. We ordered the combo fried rice (along with some wings and another combo fried rice)and requested medium heat to it. Once home, after one bite it was clear that the chef was heavy handed and it went from being medium heat as requested to burning hot. We called and spoke with a female employee who was argumentative about it. I brought the dish back to the restaurant. When I entered the restaurant I tried to make light of it all that the fried rice was overly hot and was met with a very defensive, argumentative employee who insisted we simply can’t tolerate spice food and next time don’t order it spicy. The fact she would make such a statement is absurd being we absolutely LOVE spicy food and have a pretty high tolerance for various heat levels. Instead of simply taking the item without a argument she continued to blame us for not being able to take their level of medium heat as if we were a couple of spicy food amateurs.
Also it should be noted that both orders of combo fried rice we in fact not combo but just chicken. The wings were no better than what you would get from Walmart’s hot food section. They were soggy and drenched in sauce.
Hate to say it because we’ve met the owners who are very nice but will not be returning as a customer...not so much about the food but more so because of the employee's poor attitude and argumentative behavior on something that should that should never have been a issue on her behalf to begin with.
Great Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. Have orderd multiple times and always had great taste.
Definitely get the curry puffs! Had to start with that. Just had the most delicious meal that took me straight back to Thailand! Thank you!
Little gem at Union City, great food, great service highly recommended 👌
Not the best pad see ew I've had but it's decent. The papaya salad and tom kha soup are also fine but unremarkable. Not a bad place if you are looking to get your Thai fix in.
I’ve been a costumer of this place for over 4 years. My husband and I met Walter, the owner, and his wonderful mother, who cooked in the restaurant. Thanks to him, I fell in love of Thai Tea! . Even when we moved out of Union City, we still used to come here. However, since a couple months ago I noticed a huge change in flavor and the Thai Tea was very very different. I ordered today and asked if Walter was still in charge, he isn’t. I went through the reviews and it seems he passed away. Im so sorry for this loss and my condolences to his family. I gave it 4 starts to honor Walter’s memory, but unfortunately flavors changed, I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s just not the same 😔 . Well... today marked the last day I ordered from this place..... 💔 RIP Walter and we will miss you
Not sure how it has 4.7 stars. The pricing is fair for the area and service is fine however the food is overly greasy and has no taste. The noodles tasted like cardboard. Im not joking. Maybe it was just a bad day for me idk...
Had their duck and chicken wings and bamboo shrimp and everything was delicious with just the right amount of spice and flavor. Very much recommend.
Don’t go there i got some old tofu dish a weird salad and an ok Salmon for 40 dollars the picture they have are not what I got
This place is amazing. The food is great and everything tastes fresh! The drunken noodles, green curry, Tom yum soup, and spring rolls are fantastic.
I am heart broken to read the most recent post. I do not know Walter by name, as I have only been a recent customer. We were coming to Roi Siam every week since the lockdown began and went to check on the restaurant after no one answered the phone for weeks. Everyone has been wonderful, the food and service were always great. The curry puffs were just the best. Please send my condolences to the family. I write this with a very heavy heart despite not knowing him.
The food is good but the portions are way to small for the price. Order Garlic and black pepper chicken - got rice for days, some veggies and barely any chicken. I understand maybe they need to save on food, but atleast bring the price down.
Truly a hidden gem. I have tried a few Thai places in JC and Hoboken, but this spot in Union City was the first where the food really tasted like Thai food. It isn't just Americanized takes on Thai dishes. Definitely worth a visit, even if there are other Thai places that are more accessible.
The food here is amazing!! And the service is one of the best I’ve ever had. I wish the restaurant was in a more convenient location so I could take more of my friends here. I tried their massaman curry, thai iced tea, and mango sticky rice dessert. Everything tasted amazing! Highly recommend!
Best Thai food around. Soups are great as well as the appetizers!
Unassuming storefront, but the food is amazing! Highly recommend
This is a hidden gem. Love the food and the service is good. Quantity is appropriate and you do not feel heavy after the food. Quality and taste of the food is great.
I had a doordash credit expiring so we decided to order for delivery from here one night. It looked pretty promising since it had 4.5 stars on Yelp.
Unfortunately, the food was not good. We started with the Chicken Dumplings. The description mentioned 'Steamed stuffed chicken, served with soy ginger sauce'. I think it is not unreasonable for us to believe there were steamed dumplings. Instead, they were fried to the point where there dumpling skin was super dry, and it was super oily overall. I also had a tom yum soup since I was in a soupy mood. It was way too spicy, and salty. That's pretty much all I tasted.
For the mains, I had the pad see ew. The noodles were not bad. But I love flat rice noodles so it would take a lot for me not to like it. However, the chicken I had ordered it with was so overcooked and dry. My fiancé had the Kao Pad Roi Fried Rice (Thai style fried rice with egg, chicken, pork, Chinese sausage, scallions, onions and tomatoes). I didn't find any pork in there but the chicken was the same situation - dry AF. It was also pretty bland overall. They could have taken some salt from the tom yum and added it here instead. Not sure if it really would have helped though.
Definitely will not be ordering from here again.
Their food was very tasty. A bit expensive for the amount of food, but still delicious!
Great thai food!
Food was very very good, totally authentic Thai flavors. Highly recommended!!!
We went here on a cold night hoping for some warm, authentic and spicy flavors! The food is amazing. They accommodate everyone’s spice level - I always get mine extra extra spicy while my boyfriend gets his mild; we both love it. The flavors are incredible - what you can only get at places that emphasize fresh ingredients and make food to order. You won’t be disappointed.
Very cleans restaurant, one can see the kitchen and not have to worry about the state of the kitchen as it is very clean. The food is delicious and very well priced.
Honest Review: Ordered both beef and chicken pad Thai, it was good but I can tell it’s a generic sauce and barely any protein in both.
Discovered this place by an accident and found a new Thai Mecca. Don't let the modest decor mistaken you. The food makes up for it many times over. My family ordered a bunch of dishes to eat and some to go. It was some of the best Thai food I ever had. The cost is very affordable in relation to the quality. A must go!
The best in Jersey! Very authentic! Start with Thai tea and coconut soup. Then pra ram with salmon cooked to perfection! Every curry is incredible! Even the lighter stir frys like garlic & black pepper deserve a try, with fresh seafood! Accompany your meal with a GENEROUS portion of pineapple & cashew rice! Finish it off with mango sticky rice. You will stay full, happy, & warm everyday with this regimen.
Consistently delicious. The duck is exquisite. Atmosphere not really great for eat in dining.
One of my preferred spots to grab some food. awesome location, neat, and very good service. A must try!
They have the BEST yellow curry I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious. They’re consistent, which is huge! Some places are good some days and mediocre the others. But not this place! The owner is so sweet too. Love this place :)
Me gusta todo
I really liked my beef pad Thai but my wife thought her chicken pad Thai was much too sweet.
Place is impossibly clean.
Excelente servicio
Owner is very personable and his mother is the chef. Very reasonable portion sizes and especially authentic
Muy buenna comida excelente servicio
Ordered pad see ew noodles and wanted to love it but it was not good. Noodles were really mushy and doughy. Pad see ew is my go to but this one was not for me. Very disappointing. I gave two stars because I got it delivered and didn’t eat in so I’m sure the people are lovely as the other reviewers have said, however I did not enjoy my meal.
tasty
Wonderful place to go! The food was delicious and the service was extremely friendly and helpful! Will definitely be coming back!
Great food, slightly sketch location, but great service
The most un-fancy Thai restaurant outside of Thailand I've ever been to. But as we stumbled in nearing closing time on a weekday we were invited to sit and eat. We had a quick late snack and enjoyed the taste. The ambiance is plain. Ideal to pick up your take-out though.
Great food for right price... one of the best restaurants in UC.... I recommend everybody to go there to eat
Best Thai Food in Northern NJ.
Local Best Thai Food in area 👌
Trato afable buen servicio elaboración buena

Delicious food!!!
Really nice restaurant. The staff there are very friendly. Nice service.
Simply awsome food and owner
It is rare to see a Thai place in a Hispánica area and it is rare to be sooooooooooo goooooooooood Thai in the area. I've ordered some stuff(and will for sure) and it is a authentic Thai taste I have experienced for a long time. I've been to Thailand and to many restaurants in the city but this place is REAL. Cook with real Thai spices and taste, flavor, smell and even the service is amazing.
If your in the area you have to stop by. You can trust me cause I am a mad foody and if it didn't taste well I get very mad.
I barely leave comments also so when I do it means it's special.
Must tray the curries. Which one? Anything or everything. Oh and if it's too spicy for you? Order the Thai ice tea. Man that ice tea is the best Thai ice tea I ever tasted before.
(Same comment on yelp I did. This means I left two comments that usually don’t leave. Which mean it is a must go place if your in the area)
Decided to give this place a try so I ordered the Thai Chili Sauce with jasmine rice (spicy). I did not regret my decision! The chicken was crispy with a chilli sauce on top of it and it was very flavorful. Putting it on top of the jasmin rice was the perfect combination. This place definitely satisfied my craving.
