We had a good dining experience at the restaurant. The place feels very cozy and inviting so I liked the decor of the restaurant. All the food items were great. The only drawback was that we had to ask a few times some of the things such as sauce or napkins, but I understand that the servers get busy, so that was an improvement they can do. Overall, it's a good Thai restaurant.
The overall experience was pretty average. The restaurant’s ambiance and service were decent but food didn’t quite hit the mark. I didn’t like their Pad Thai, it was really basic in taste. Massaman Curry was just okay. Drunken Noodles were really good though, very flavorful. So was Thai Iced Tea, very refreshing. But nothing really stood out for us. The appetizers we ordered(spring rolls and Curry Puffs) were average. Honestly I’ve had better Thai food. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to those who are looking for exceptional Thai cuisine.
Decent food, good atmosphere and service was nice and quick. Lunch menu was value for money as you have option to choose soup/salad/spring roll along with entree. I had drunken noodle which tasted good but was a bit more oily then expected , might give it a try next time for Thai curries. For the food which we had, I would say we have tasted better Thai food at other places..
JC local for a decade, been to One Dee Siam a bunch of times. Every time I’ve been here they've had excellent service, take great care of allergies and dietary restrictions, and are generally very consistent across the years in taste. Particularly recommend the Angel Breast chicken, really well cooked, nice and mild.
This is our go to Thai restaurant in downtown JC. Food is always consistent. Service is friendly and courteous. We go here at least once or twice a month. Our favorites are Pad Thai, Tamarind Duck, Pinapple Fried Rice, and Massaman Curry. We also try a different dish everytime and are never disappointed.
Went as a party of 2 on a Tuesday summer evening. The place wasn't too crowded but wasn't empty either. The food was amazing and they had great vegetarian options. The Thai tea was was refreshing. The portion size is huge for a single person so I would recommend not ordering too much upfront!
Outstanding! Great food, wonderful ambience. Good service. Their cuisine is authentic and gives you a real taste of Thailand. They have far more variety than just the curries and pad thai - which themselves are absolutely delicious! Definitely worth coming here to go through their entire menu. Highly recommended.
Excellent
The servers are quite rude
Edited review down to 3.5 stars:
Original few times I went the food was awesome.
Not sure if chefs changed or what, but this place has been very hit or miss over the past 2 years. Delivery especially has been more "miss".
Hoping it gets back to higher quality, since the location is great. At the price points, I won't be rolling the dice most likely.

Bland and inauthentic. The pad Thai is some of the worst I’ve ever had. Rubbery flavorless noodles.

Good pad Thai
The food here is great and the staff is really friendly and helpful.
This place has become a favorite for us. The food is very tasty. We especially like the pork and beef skewers, fried calamari for appetizers and the duck tamarind for entrées.
The staff here is also very friendly and helpful. Note that I had a negative review with this place due to a creepy server but decided to give this place second chances and I'm happy I did that. Overall, this place had great atmosphere and is reasonably priced, and is overall a good place for family gatherings.
Probably one of the best thai restaurants I have ever had. Came alone, had several items and each one was fantastic.
Worst food, bad service, unfriendly. Food tastes like nothing
The food was excellent, especially the drunken noodles with steak. The Pad Thai, Tom Yum, and Thai iced tea were delicious as well. We will definitely come back again.
Too small portion for what we paid for.
Horrible service from staff to owner
The food is pretty average. The staff is rude including the server, and the lady with glasses ( not sure owner or the manager ). Even if the service is really poor they expect a good amount of tip and if not given or low tip is given then they will chase you and start arguing with you. Completely unprofessional and rude staff.
Gözlüklü yaşlı kadın insanlara bir tık daha kibar davranabilir
Something has changed in the service, qualify and portions. Drunken noodle was all veggies and barely any noodles. Waiter forgot half of my order in his attempt to upsell me lamb or fish. Quality control needed as the food has lost the flavor. I hope they get it back on track.
The staff was extremely impolite and insisted on a specific tip amount, leaving us no option to decide for ourselves. While I understand that service staff often rely heavily on tips, the very purpose of tipping is to reflect the quality of service provided. It should be up to the patrons to determine the tip amount based on their experience. Forcing customers to pay a predetermined tip is not only inappropriate but also undermines the principle of voluntary appreciation for good service. This behavior was disappointing and unprofessional
I ordered delivery rom this place and there was a plastic string in my food. I wonder what other unhygienic stuff happens here.
Outstanding! Great food, wonderful ambience. Good service. Their cuisine is authentic and gives you a real taste of Thailand. They have far more variety than just the curries and pad thai - which themselves are absolutely delicious! Definitely worth coming here to go through their entire menu. Highly recommended.
one dee chicken fried rice so awful that I could not eat a spoon. I discourage people not to order it.

A great Thai place in Jersey City!
I picked up takeout Pad Kee Mao, Chicken Pad Thai and spring rolls.
The portions were pretty good and the taste of the food was also pretty good. service was great and the food was prepared pretty quickly.
2 words to describe this establishment.. Ass-Cheeks!!
Over priced for small ass portions and the food oily ass Hell...
I am not qualified to say if their food is truly authentic or not but I tend to order pad thai and tom yum soup everywhere I go, and this restaurant’s versions of these dishes are truly one of the best! Their sign says they are authentic thai food which I’ve come to take as truth, given how delicious everything I’ve ordered is. I’ve even started to set the taste of their food as the gold standard for comparing new thai places I go to in other cities.
Love the vegetarian drunken noodles (kee Mao) and pancake(go chai)... Really good and flavorful
Fantastic meal, one of the best Thai meals I've ever had. Papaya salad was excellent, duck was delicious and the snapper was one of the best dishes I ever had. Highly reccomend.
No pineapple in the pineapple fried rice. the servant was very aggressive on the point that their pineapple fried rice just don’t have pineapple in it
One of the best Thai Restaurants in the city (including NYC).
Great Pad Se Yew, the crab fried rice is really good, the service is good and it's BYOB - can't ask for more
The price is high.
I went there yesterday because my favorite Thai spot in Paulus Hook closed down. The food was ok, but the attitude from the cashier sucked! I don't know if it was racism or misery, but I def. won't go back. I miss Sky Thai across the street from me already! Better food and service.
Can't speak for service since I always have theirs delivered but their pad thai and pad see ew are SO good
I love the food here, great service
Really good food in JC. Very nice service
Make sure you leave sufficient tips >= 18%. Unfortunately, they will open up your bill in front of you even before you left your seat and pressure you to add more tips. It seems like its a recurring theme here based on other reivews describing simliar experience on the tips.
I ordered Tom Yum noodle soup, there's no flavour in the food, the broth feel like water and the people working there are rude not helping at all. Worst experience ever
I ordered the pineapple fried rice…no pineapple 🤯Like…I thought it was gonna be a pineapple bowl moment but it was a real plate😭 aha fr fr. Good service tho. Good vibes. Aha. No pineapple tho aha
The food was pretty average but the most worst thing about is staff who are rude and who are not satisfied with the tip given and demaned us to give more tip to reach their expectations. Even though the service was very bad I dont know how could they ask more. Even though the tip was just a suggestion not manadatory and we are not a group of 5-10 ppl we are just 3 people.
The overall experience is alright. Food was very underwhelming. The service is also okayish, we asked for paper napkins and they are very stingy with that, just gave one each and had to ask 3 times separately for 3 people. Was never offered nor got a water refill. The servers look part of a single family and rush you through the meal and that sours the entire experience. They are always hovering near the table looking to clear the plates and bowls, making you feel very rushed even though the restaurant was fairly empty and other tables were open. The food is okay and not tasty, was never asked for spice level preference (have always been asked in a Thai restaurant).Food portions are good but lack heavily on the taste. The ambience and decor is very good but the chair upholstery was torn with the contents coming out. But the main reason to visit any restaurant is the food which leaves you wanting for more. For this reason I will not be visiting again, since it was not value for money and would not recommend it to anyone.
The food is AMAZING and TRULY AUTHENTIC!!
I absolutely love this place! It’s the only authentic Thai place around that makes me feel like I’m back in Bangkok and the food for sure tastes like it. I always get their mango sticky rice and it’s by far the best one around. I highly recommend!! The people that work here are also so kind and incredibly helpful!! :)
Good ambiance but not soo good food … poor prepation and lacks the flavor for curry
Food was delicious I had pad see ew and Tom Kia soup. Will def be ordering again!!
Food is terrific and food service is exceptional but you will be rushed. Try the vegetarian dishes, highly recommend.
Tips based off of after tax total as another user mentioned.
Got green curry and Pad Thai. Really good Thai place with great ambience
We had ordered vegetable Green curry and pad thai. Both the dishes were awesome and we totally loved it 😍 Perfect blend of spices and veggies. Definitely recommend this place 👍
Average food but rude and unfriendly staff. They coerce you into paying a heavy tip and on declining talk rudely.
We were made to tip over 18% for a subpar service.
Food flavors were good. However, to my surprise, there was an insect flying out of my dark sauce. Now I'm in doubt if il ever come back here...shocked
My husband (fiance at the time) put in for a reservation months and then again four weeks in advance (in person) for our wedding party the day before our wedding. When the day came, he called to verify the reservation and to let them know that it would be three less people, they told him that they didn't have a reservation on file. He was then told that if the reservation was to be accepted, he would have received a phone call, but not if the reservation WASN'T ACCEPTED. Who does business like that? We thought everything was confirmed and they never called to tell us otherwise, so now we had to rush to find a replacement place to hold our gathering. It was a very unprofessional and unpleasant experience. We would not recommend.
Really disappointed because I’ve had some employees tell me something was vegetarian then for the next time to hear that the very dish is made with chicken stock. Wish they took peoples dietary restrictions more seriously and the menu was marked for allergies, vegan, and vegetarian. Upsetting experience
Marvelous eating! Threw my parties with this delicious eating.
The most bizarre experience. The curry option on the menu says “shrimp, squid” for 16, so that’s what I ordered. The bill came out to 21. I questioned and the waiter told me that it is “shrimp OR squid”. They didn’t clarify with me, nor told me or listed anyway that if you order both it’s gonna be 5 dollars extra. Dirty way to get more money out of you. Stay away and will not come back. Even though food is great.
One of the best Thai food in Hudson County. Been going to One dee since it’s first open. All my friends that I introduced them to One dee said it’s one of the best Thai food around here. Food is always great and service is phenomenal always. I love their crispy catfish salad and all the noodle soup dishes are wonderful. One of the best Yentafo noodle I have ever had in NJ and NYC and I have tried from many Thai places. Their regular menu is also great.
Worst service ever!!!
We asked to be seated in a different area when the restaurant was pretty much empty and got rejected rudely. So so food. Very poor service.
My go to spot! The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. The service is always quick and friendly. I have never had a wait for a table. Highly recommend if you’re on the Newark JC strip.
Really really good crab pineapple fried rice. Stands out from fried rice I’ve had anywhere else.
rude waitress
Abysmal service by the waitress. From the moment we sat down, our waitress seemed determined to rush us through our meal, incessantly badgering us to place our order, even though the restaurant was half empty. When we asked for 10 more minutes to look through the menu (within the first 5 - 10 minutes), she passed snide remarks like 'Oh, you need 10 more minutes?'
After ordering appetizers, despite there being more than 2 hours before the restaurant's closing hours, she told us to hurry up and place the main course order as the kitchen would later become super busy. When we later asked her to reheat the food (2 dishes), we were told they can't do that, which is fine.
However, the final straw came when we dared to offer a suggestion for improvement while settling the bill. She started yelling at us saying that it's our 'responsibility' to eat the food when it arrives. Seriously? She made a scene in front of everyone and later started yelling in her native language.
What a terrible experience! Never going back, and I would strongly advise others to steer clear as well. There are so many better Thai restaurants in the city anyway. Save yourselves the disappointment.
Very good food. I tried the calamari and spring rolls and then I had their beef with rice and vegetable special which was quite tasty. My partner ordered the pad Thai with tofu but at first, they brought him one with chicken. Upon letting them the mistake, they made him a new dish with tofu. Overall good food and good service. Looking forward to trying their pineapple fried rice and Massaman curry next time
Great service. Pad thai was delicious’
Been here one time, but honestly everything we had was great. Pad Thai, a soup, spring rolls, all were very good and just what we were hoping for. Excited to go again!
We got the lunch specials. The tom yum soup was hot but nothing special and the same went for the spring rolls. The Thai Basil chicken served with rice and the Pad Thai were pretty good. Nice looking restaurant with decent service.
Very bad experience with the service . Horrible service and waiter are very obnoxious , they are very rude and not helping at all .
Very good staff with good food.
Finally, the real deal in Jersey.
I've only taken out from here. The food is great at a decent price for JC
understaffed. Had to wait an hour for our food.
The Beef Salad (Nam Tok Neua, beef waterfall salad) was good (aroy maak). The menu says the beef is grilled, it lacked the freshly grilled flavor, and color. I ordered Thai Spicy, by my standard of Thai food it was medium spicy. The service was good. Overall One Dee missed the mark on authentic Thai. Westernized Thai is more accurate.
Unfortunately I had a disappointing experience with One Dee Siam for an inaccuracy on their menu regarding a dish that fails to mention it contains peanuts, a well known food allergen. This is pertaining to their Green Papaya Som Tam Salad. The restaurant does not list peanuts for this dish as an ingredient mentioned on their online menu and on their door dash menu.
Amazing food and Amazing Staff! Amazing food and Amazing Staff! I highly recommend trying One Dee Siam!
My friend and I have experienced serious discrimination in this store. The clerk at the front desk barred my friend from entering. I provided her with my medical certificate as well as my serves dog id and documentation. And she was wearing a collar and a leash. We still suffered very serious discrimination, the woman at the front desk insisted that we were not allowed to enter and insisted that my friend was PET. The most ridiculous thing is that I have taken my friends into this restaurant twice. Today, however, the waiter insisted that he would not allow it and expressed disdain and disgust towards me and my friend. It really hurt me. I finally asked her if we weren't welcome, and she said yes.
It was our first time coming to this restaurant and the Food was delicious .
BYOB and great pricing! Pad Thai and red curry were great. We will be back.
Place is clean, service is good. Food is good.
TL:DR, we sat down and ordered, they forgot to put our entire order in, we asked for it to-go because it was late, and they were pushy for a tip when we weren’t even served any food.
The food is good, but I’m not sure if I will continue to support this business because the staff is rude.
I’ve been a frequent customer but had a strange experience over the summer and contemplated leaving this review.
We sat down around 9 PM for a late dinner and ordered our food. There were alot of empty tables. We were waiting for over 30 minutes before realizing that the table that arrived much later than us, already received their food. Nobody came to check on us, and when we asked about our order, they said ” Didn’t you just sit down?” It became very clear that they somehow forgot to put our order in. At this point it’s 930 and we’re tired and hungry, so we ask if they can just make our food to go. We asked for an appetizer to be comped for our time and she offers us one free thai tea instead (when there are two of us). When we go to up to the register to pay, the waitress gave us a hard time about not leaving a tip. She says we should tip because she gives us a free tea and continued to push. We said no- for making us wait for over 40 minutes they shouldn’t be asking for a tip. We never ate at the tables and they did not provide any service. A thai tea literally costs like $2 to make and should not be an reason to leave a tip.
I’ve been to this restaurant many times and I’ve always left 20% even when they barely check on us or refill our waters. Asian restaurants are kinda like this in general but still, its very rude considering they were the ones who got it wrong. This whole experience was very unpleasant and really turned me off as a customer.
I got food poisoning that night and the following day. Won’t go back. I will give kudos to the atmosphere of the Restaurant which is nice and staff was very polite.
Don’t order duck. I don’t normally review take out food but this duck on their menu is so bone dry it might as well be labelled as duck jerky. The only way I can imagine duck to be this dry is if you freezer burned this moisture out of it. It’s actually incredible. One of their higher priced items too. Imagine.
BEST THAI food in Jersey City. We usually go for team lunch here and I love their lunch menu. Authentic Thai and best by a country mile.💛
Good food. But sometimes staff they rush you out.
I’ve waited 75 days treat myself to a cheat meal in celebration of completing my 75 Hard challenge and chose this place.. I completely regret it.. worst dining experience. 6pm on Tuesday not busy and I expected a friendly environment, it was the complete opposite. Did not acknowledge me throughout my meal as I needed them. Menu is unclear with secret additional charges that is not stated. A $17.95 Pad Thai (stated on the menu) turned out to be $25 and change before tip. Very rude gentlemen and woman who are the managers were rolling their eyes at me while I bring up additional charges on my bill. Nothing was stated about extras charges upon ordering. Had me sit there, with no answer about the unclear charges. To conclude I paid for the $17.95 Pad Thai and the remaining $8 for the knowledge to never come back. Check your bill if you plan on visiting. Should just be takeout only. Food was 5/10 for authentic Thai food . Awful awful service.
Ordered Massamma curry which was served with stale peanuts. Suffered with stomach cramps and diarrhea few hours after consuming the curry. Overpriced for very less food. Waitress had no smile. Felt like she was forced to work at that place. I would not recommend this place especially if you are visiting and touring the area.
For me, I give them FIVE STAR.
The food tastes good on my point!
Also the service was great!
Definitely come back to try something else.
I like this place a lot! The food is pretty good but the Portion is pretty small for the price and I believe it has changed because I have been coming here before 2019.
Everything else is pretty good.
Waitress scammed us for tip even thought we paid 15%. Be prepared to be scammed.
Used to have it all the time. Ordered a delivery of pineapple fried rice with chicken and then had serious diarrhea after eating it. The food quality is questionable. Very disappointed.
Nice place to have turkish food.
I would say that their food tasted pretty typical “Thai styled”. But not enough to blow us away. Their pricing was not too expensive, and neither cheap, pretty affordable.
I used to like this restaurant, but got food poisoning after ordering a salmon curry.
A Nightmarish Dining Experience: A Warning to Avoid One Dee Siam at All Costs
Last night, my encounter at One Dee Siam was nothing short of a horrifying nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my experience as a stern cautionary tale. This establishment not only wrongfully accused me of unpaid bills from a previous visit but also subjected me to racial profiling/ threats and embarrassment to my guest. Shockingly, when I requested to review the CCTV footage to clear my name, they callously ignored my plea, offering no apology or explanation.
Based on other reviews I’ve read for this place, seems like dishonesty is a common theme for people who’ve had a bad experience here.
The audacity of One Dee Siam to falsely accuse me and demand payment for someone they believed was me, based solely on my race, is beyond comprehension. Their incompetence and lack of organization were evident when they handed me two separate bills for a single meal. However, it was their discriminatory behavior that truly left me appalled.
The staff at One Dee Siam shamelessly claimed to have captured two individuals of Indian origin on their CCTV footage, whom they believed were me and my party. This blatant racial profiling is not only deeply offensive but also a clear violation of our rights as paying customers. We were treated as criminals solely based on our ethnicity, with no regard for our dignity or the truth.
In an attempt to clear our names and expose the absurdity of their accusations, we requested to review the CCTV footage. To our dismay, our plea was met with callous indifference. The staff's refusal to address our concerns, offer an apology, or provide any explanation was a shocking display of their disregard for customer satisfaction and basic decency.
I urge you to choose wisely and avoid this establishment, as supporting such behavior only serves to enable discrimination and injustice.
Came here for lunch on Wednesday and it wasn’t busy..atmosphere was good very peaceful..we ordered the papaya salad which was very refreshing..got two Tom yum noodles for me and my sister but have to be honest the soup broth wasn’t what we expected..I had the Tom yum soup the night before and it was delicious but the soup broth that day tasted completely different so we were kinda disappointed..the price wasn’t bad, it’s reasonable due to the location.I think it’s a better dinner option because they do have a quite a good selection of dinner dishes..will definitely try that next time
Three shrimps and two mushrooms in plenty of water with piece of some paper for $17. It was Tom Yum. Don’t recommend.
Authentic rustic fresh Thai food. Attentive and polite service. Intimate and lively ambiance. Chicken Massaman delivered the goods! Excellent snapper with Papaya salad.
Maybe the best Thai we’ve had. Crispy Pork Basil, Thom Ka soup, and noodle dishes are great. We keep coming back!
Waited in store over an hour for a DoorDash pickup order that the app said was ready 40 mins ago. The people working there kept telling me it’s coming, and in the end a lady came to me and said there was an issue with the “printer” and they missed my order. Clearly the other people were lying. The lady offered me a Thai iced tea as a token of compensation.
Also, just a note on their food - they put too much sugar in every dish.
Ordered food from here for the first time and the entrees were delicious. Ordered the drunken noodles and tofu and eggplant. The dishes were flavorful and cooked perfectly. The appetizers fell short however, the spring rolls were bland and were just filled with noodles and the curry puffs also lacked flavor. I would skip the apps next time but entrees are great.
JOIN THIS RESTAURANT 1ST VISIT ON LAST VALENTINE DAY 2023 ...
Excelente!!! Todo delicioso, buena porción de platillos, variedad de menú, calidad impecable, el servicio al cliente de lo mejor en NJ.
Super recomendado!!! 👌
Great food. If you love Thai and live in the Jersey City area, I recommend it
The special crab meat with powder curry is delicious. But other dishes didn’t reach expectations. For both two duck dishes the duck is very dry. And pls notice that the given suggested tips is calculated based on AFTER TAX total price which is a very dishonest act for restaurants.
Went as a party of 2 on a Tuesday summer evening. The place wasn't too crowded but wasn't empty either. The food was amazing and they had great vegetarian options. The Thai tea was was refreshing. The portion size is huge for a single person so I would recommend not ordering too much upfront!
I love the service.
Food is delicious.
And atmosphere 👌 😍 🙌
Admittedly what I tried is not to my palette, yet I will go back to try more...
Food was good, on par for"good Thai" in the area, but not spectacular. Service was polite and generally attentive. The exception was at the end of the meal; it took forever to get the check and then again to pay. The atmosphere was fine, but the music was way too loud.
Really delicious food. Great addition to Newark Ave.
I recently dined at One Dee Siam on Grove Street in Jersey City and had an amazing experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home.
We started our meal with the chive pancakes and fried tofu, both of which were delicious. The chive pancakes were perfectly crispy, and the fried tofu had a delightful texture. As for the main course, we ordered the drunken noodles with chicken and the cashew nut entree. The flavors in both dishes were outstanding, and the portion sizes were generous.
One thing that impressed us was how quick the service was. Despite the restaurant being busy, our food arrived promptly, allowing us to enjoy a satisfying and efficient dinner.
Overall, I highly recommend One Dee Siam for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine. The food is not only tasty but also beautifully presented. The service is top-notch, and the speed of service ensures a seamless dining experience. It's definitely a place I'll be returning to for more flavorful and enjoyable meals.
Best Thai food in Jersey City. Tom Yum soup is so good, I have had only that for meals! Also try chicken satay.
Ordered the pad Thai as gluten free and can easily say this is the best pad Thai I’ve ever had. And the staff was knowledgeable about the gluten allergy
My go-to place for Thai food right now. Huge fan of the curry puffs. Also really enjoy their noodle and curry dishes. Pretty affordable place to go for a night out.
Friendly staff and good, flavorful Thai food. Service is quick and efficient. BYOB is a plus.
Lovely venue with delicious vegan options. We got the crispy tofu and Thai spring rolls for appetizer and a vegetable cashew nut. It was delicious! Veggies were fresh (unfortunately there are places into frozen stuff) and sauce was flavorful. Will get back to try more options
Amazing food, just found this place what a hidden gem and it’s byob. Have been 2x in the last 3 weeks and will be there again very soon.
Ok, first of all appetizer (Kanom Jeem) was 5 stars.
Expectations were set, then they crashed. Something was missing, it didn't feel like effort was completely there. Menu shows that fried rice comes with half pineapple, but it does not. Spicy curry was spicy but not flavorful.
Could be one off day, there were multiple offs that day for sure.
Love this place! My food was great and great service
Food was good. We were asked to keep our wine under the table as it was a large bottle. A second table was brought over to accommodate our food.
Very good food. Very friendly. Reasonably priced. Nice decor. Definitely earned another visit for the whole fish dinner.
Their waiter over ordered our dishes due to miscommunication and keep saying it’s our fault and trying to educate us.. instead of returning/refunding the food or any kind of discount, they offer us a can of sprite as “apologies” lol.. never come back again, leaving 2 dollars tip with a note “sprite on me”
0/5 for the service and 3/5 for the food. This is the worst service I even experienced. The waiter is very rude and gives us bad attitude.
Waiting time over half an hour after ordering for a small table and duplicated billing for credit card
BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. There are thousands of better Thai restaurants In Jersey that you can enjoy better service and food.
A cozy spot for after work bites. Plates are larger and food expertly presented in an artistic portrait. Eating is a joy here. Has a home style feel but understated Elegance.
This is a great place. Consistently good food and great, friendly service.
This is worst restaurant experience I had today -not only the waiter was super rude -Inspite of being regular customer they charged us for outside drink inspite of us being on restricted diet plan -plus we were overcharged for fish by 20 dollars -don’t order any special here without first checking the price -
Delicious 😋🤤
Ordered the Pad see ew absolutely no flavor and the pad kee mow same. The chicken was extremely dry. Worst Thai food I have ever had.
Amazing food. Tried a few in the area and their Thai food is great.
Food from fast food restaurants becomes premium with a nice plate
This is our new favorite Thai place in Jersey City! Having thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at its sister location (Wondee Siam) in Hells Kitchen, we came to this restaurant with high expectations. Needless to say, One Dee Siam did not disappoint.
The Thai Iced Tea was refreshing and not very sweet. Some of the dishes we had tried from the other place (e.g. Larb Gai, Minced Basil Chicken) were as good as we had remembered. The Curry Puffs were also very delicious. The Go Chai was a definite highlight and unlike anything we have tried at a Thai place before. The Penang Curry and Kee Mao were other dishes that we greatly enjoyed and quickly devoured.
Pro tip while ordering: The rice with each entree are small, individual sized portions and the entree portions may also feel small if you are sharing among a group of 4. I'd recommend asking for extra rice and also checking with the server whether the amount you're ordering is sufficient. We ended up ordering an extra entree and an extra portion of rice after our initial order. The service is exceptionally quick though, and we didn't have to wait much at all.
All in all, we had a lovely time and look forward to being back for more!
Red curry was ok but nothing special. The panang curry was very sweet, not even very enjoyable. The portions were kinda small. Otherwise, the restaurant atmosphere and service is good.
I usually order something with rice, etc. The food is ALWAYS great. But I’m on a life style changing journey. I’m eating better, working out, losing weight and making better decisions. I was tired of all the other restaurants close by so I figured I give this one a chance. I looked over the menu and low and behold, an avocado salad that I never would’ve looked at before… lol. CAN I TELL YOU HOW AMAZING IT WAS?! Had my Thai green tea to go with it. I can show you better than I can tell you! Check out the pic! AND it’s not as pricey as some other spots around here. (I work in the area). So go try it! Tell them I sent you! Lol. You won’t be disappointed!
pretty good
my bf and i got the tom yum soft tofu soup- pretty yummy! not very lemongrass-y as i thought it would be.
we got the papaya salad medium spicy (has shrimp) and it was very tasty.
got the wings and i prob wont order again. they didn't have any seasoning or sauce, sauce was on the side. i would've wanted sauce on the wings. the wings were bland without the sauce.
got veggie green curry, it was fine. not bad at all but nothing out of this world either. will prob try the red curry next time.
my bf got fried tofu pad thai and that was prob my favorite. very flavorful. tofu was cool while the pad thai was very hot.
waiters were nice and very busy.
The ambiance is beautiful! The staff is friendly and always at your service. The food is even better!
My table had two appetizers, the shrimp roll and the steamed dumplings. For the entree, I had pineapple rice with chicken as my protein. The rest of the table had chicken Thai basil and red curry with chicken and duck as the protein. For dessert, we all shared sticky rice with mango. The sticky rice with mango was enough for four to share.
Either way, you cannot go wrong! Everyone enjoyed their meals.
I also loved the location of the restaurant. It's right on a strip with other bars. So if you want to grab drinks with friends after dinner, this is perfectly doable.
This will definitely be my go-to spot whenever I am in Jersey City.
Ordered green and panang curries for delivery and was sorely disappointed. The green curry was watery, flavorless and mostly bamboo shoots. Isn't thai eggplant a key ingredient of green curry? The panag curry, which at every other place I've had it, including in Thailand, is supposed to be a peanut based curry sauce. This was a watery flavorless soup of canned pineapple and again, tons of bamboo shoots. The curry puffs were delicious even though there were only three tiny ones in an order. Papaya salad was ok, but next time please clean the shrimp poo off the shrimp please. Ate in before and had a decent pad thai, so hopefully the chef was having a bad night and they forgot to order key ingredients. You can do better guys, there is no decent Thai food in JC and I had such high hopes for you.
The people were nice but I am allergic to fish sauce I asked if the food came without fish sauce twice and the waiter confirmed there was no fish sauce. Unfortunately, I got a very bad allergic reaction that I normally get when I ingest fish sauce. We won't be back.
Good food but terrible service. No enough waiters and very slow serving the food. Order pickup from this place once, and they had me waiting for at least 30mins after the promised time on UBER.
