If you're a fan of the Indian-Chinese cuisine like I am, the kind you'd find back in India, then you must try the food here. Everything was outstanding, from the perfectly flavored Manchurian and its sauce to the accompanying rice, which is superb and enhances the dish significantly. The hot and sour soup is also fantastic, and the noodles are quite good. Definitely give this place a shot for some of the best food in Indian Square.
We ordered chicken manchow soup, vegetable Wontons, chicken schezwan fried rice, vegetable balls in garlic sauce and vegetable hakka noodles.
The wontons were crispy and tasty, fried rice and noodles were okay. The vegetable balls were okay but the sauce was disappointing as it was quite acidic.
Overall, it is a good Indo chinese food restaurant if you are looking specifically on Indian street but there are better Chinese restaurants around the city.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your dining experience at Szechaun Mirchi Indo-Chinese Cuisine in Jersey City! The flavorful dishes were not only tasty but also generous in portion size. The quality of the food definitely left a positive impression. Overall, it sounds like a restaurant worth visiting for anyone craving delicious Indo-Chinese cuisine.
Yuck. Too much food coloring. I don't know how do they even sell these health boards meals? Ordered takeaway on GrubHub. My order consisted of American chopsouy and chilli paneer. All the American chopsouy had was orange food color and nothing else. Chilli paneer was supposed to be a dry dish but this thing came in a gravy. It tastes so bland, no salt, no masala, just food color. My hand was covered in food color, it didn't even go away after washing a couple of times. If you just want bland food and food filled with artificial colors then this is your go to. Good luck spoiling your organs!
If you are from India and crave for some Kolkata style info Chinese ( like us), then look no further. The place looks cool and clean. There is no stereotypical ‘Indian restaurant’ smell. We drank fresh lime soda. Although it was a chilly winter night, but a cold refreshing bubbling lime soda triggered the appetite. We got a chicken manchow soup and have it split in two portions ( just like we used to order in India). The soup was thick however lack in some umami flavor that I was looking for. Chicken lollipop was a great choice for the appetizer. They were juicy from the inside and crunchy from the outside. In the main course, a mixed Hakka noodles was decent. The chilly chicken was perfectly paired with it. The chilly chicken was decent with dark soy sauce, however lack in green chilies. Also, the chickens were a bit harder than I expected. The portion size of the chilly chicken was also little less IMO. It was altogether a decent meal. Overall, the food was served fresh and piping hot. The service was fast, and the servers were cool.
Really tasty indo Chinese food was pleasantly surprised
Especially "wow" for me - pineapple fried rice and wontons!
Szechuan Mirchi is a solid spot for Indo-Chinese food in Jersey City. The food is definitely good for the price—you get flavorful, well-cooked dishes without breaking the bank. The Szechuan Noodles were just the right balance of spicy and savory, and the Chili Chicken had a nice kick, with crispy pieces and great seasoning. Everything was tasty and hit the spot.
What really stands out is the value—for the quality of food, the prices are very reasonable, especially compared to other spots in the area. The portions are generous, so you really get your money’s worth. Plus, there’s plenty of parking, which is a big plus in Jersey City.
It’s a cozy place with brilliant interiors and if you’re in the mood for some satisfying Indo-Chinese at a fair price, Szechuan Mirchi won’t disappoint. Definitely a place worth visiting for a casual, delicious meal!
Excellent indo chinese food! Their veg hakka noodles, veg Manchurian, chicken sweet corn soup are at par with those in India. Amazing quality and perfect taste. The best indo chinese in journal square area.
You NEED to go to this place. The wagyu is like none other. The staff are quite polite and friendly, as well.
This place deserves very underrated. It is hands down one of the fantastic restaurants in the area. It has excellent food, generous portion sizes and a sitting area that would give you a feel of fine dining. Deserves more than 4 stars.
Worst place ever visit in my life.we travelled all the way from Atlanta with plenty of expectations to eat Indian Chinese’s food but this place is worst. We ordered lollipop which was stuffed with flour and over cooked no meat inside, chicken fried rice it was raw peas uncooked carrot garlic, no salt and zero taste.we complained to staff but he gave us dead expressions.we thrashed $53 food in thrash , don’t waste ur time and money don’t come here.
Food was really good, but their staff needs a bit more professional training to deal with customers.
Great service but food was average. Expected more considering current rating. My kids love chicken lollipop but both of them passed on it after first bite. Felt like refried.
Was surprised to see 18% gratuity pre- added for order below $100 to the bill and moreover had option to tip more
It deserves 5star nothing less.
My favourite place for indochinese.

Tried the Chicken Lollipop and Dim Sim Chilli Chicken. The lollipop was dry and lacked flavor—quite disappointing. But the Dim Sim Chilli Chicken was incredible: juicy, spicy, and full of flavor with well-cooked veggies. A definite must-try for spice lovers! Skip the lollipop, go for the chilli chicken!
Good food
Not the closest tastw to Indo-Chinese in NJ, though some dishes are good.
Best mango bubble tea and chicken man-chow soup
This is a favorite Chinese spot for me and my husband, we really like American chop suey here , the fried rice is also awesome.
Szechaun Mirchi Indo-Chinese Cuisine is a must-visit for anyone in Jersey City craving a unique dining experience. The restaurant offers an impressive variety of dishes that are both flavorful and well-prepared. The Chilli Chicken and the Hakka Noodles were highlights of my meal, showcasing the perfect mix of spices and textures. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere was lively yet comfortable. The value for money is great, and I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their diverse menu.
Szechuan Mirchi delivers a delightful blend of Indo-Chinese cuisine with authentic, bold flavors. The Szechuan noodles are a standout, with just the right amount of spice and a great texture. The service is attentive and the ambiance makes for a pleasant dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone craving a unique fusion of Indian and Chinese dishes!!
best ambiance available all round
For the starters, I recommend the momo. it is incredibly juicy and has great taste. But I do not recommend the Thai curry. It tastes different than the other good restaurants. It will be great to taste other menus here. Rest other thing was good
Best noodles in Jersey City .
Must try Szechuan chicken noodles and service girl suggested the szechuan sauce on side that enhance the taste. Thank you
Szechuan Mirchi is a hidden gem in Jersey City! The blend of bold Szechuan flavors with classic Indo-Chinese cuisine is simply outstanding. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, especially the spicy Hakka noodles and the crispy chili chicken. The ambiance is cozy, and the service is prompt and friendly. Whether you're a fan of authentic Szechuan or looking for some fusion flair, this place won't disappoint. Highly recommended for anyone craving a delicious and unique dining experience!
Favorites
Totally disaster and disappointment. I wish to give zero review for this place. It is not even basic eatable food. None of my item had basic salt or pepper. All the chicken momo, chicken Hakka noodle, soup, not eatable . It's not the taste that is the issue. It's like dog food without salt and pepper or nothing, except chicken. Lollipop chicken under cooked.
Fried Wonton chicken is not even wonton, it's like Indian papad fried with top of jail chicken stuffed. I don't recommend this place to any Indo Chinese food seeker. Total disappointment
The worst place of the world
Food looks tasty but it’s very bland and tasteless with bad chicken
I was looking for more of an ethnic halal Chinese restaurant, but it turned out to be a Desi asain food styled restaurant.
There no beef on the menu, and they say it's a halal meat (indian) restaurant.
Lamb broccoli 🥦 was non eatable,
Chicken Chow Main was good,
Chicken sweet and sour desi style always great.
Kong pow chicken was trash, old meat.
They were nice enough to replace the dishes we other non eatable dishes, then we gave up.
Any recommendations for ethentic Chinese, korean, Vietnamese, etc, zabiha halal restaurants?
My new favorite spot in JC. Everything from the chicken mono to the Sichuan Chicken lomein are on point
Highly recommended
Great food quantity, quality and taste
Amazing staff and atmosphere
I must have ordered food from this restaurant anywhere between 20 to 25 times in the past 1 year. But unfortunately, I'd never be doing that ever again. They used to be my comfort food. They were the one place that I could never go wrong with. But lately, they have really dropped the ball on the quality of their food & service. I am a vegetarian, and despite me ordering all vegetarian dishes and mentioning that they are supposed to be 'vegetarian' several times in notes, they sent me Chicken stuff. To add to that, they only seem to be trying to avoid taking responsibility for it instead of trying to make it right. Their veg momos & veg hakka noodles (if & when they get it right) might be the ONLY 2 things you could take a chance on ordering, trust me. Everything else, especially their gravies & entrees, are truly awful. Getting a customer's order right and showing respect to their basic dietary restrictions should be the most important thing for any food business, and they fail to do either. I'm truly disappointed. They've lost a very loyal customer today.
I ordered shredded chicken with green and red pepper. The chicken was so dry and hard. I had to literally chew on every single piece like 30 times to be able to swallow it. I can't imagine how can a restaurant pack and deliver food like that. I'm having stomach ache already.
I visited this restaurant based on the positive reviews online. However, it was a bad day for me. The most significant advantage of this restaurant was its dedicated parking space. However, the service could have been better. The waitress took an order and disappeared, never coming back to ask if I needed anything or check on the food as well. It was a weekday, and they had only one other table but didn’t pay attention to anyone.
The food was not good at all. The shredded chicken was horrible, and I felt like I was chewing wooden chips. It had no taste, and with one bite, I realized it was pretty old chicken. It had terrible flavor and was small when chewed. I tried to call someone, but everyone was busy chitchatting and giving online orders. After multiple attempts, I called a gentleman, and he requested for check, during that time, I explained about the food. He replied I will let the chef know as if he knew it before. Finally, after a few hours, in the middle of the night, I ended up throwing up and had to take medicine.
Good food. Good prices
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your dining experience at Szechaun Mirchi Indo-Chinese Cuisine in Jersey City! The flavorful dishes were not only tasty but also generous in portion size. Love the food. Everything is so delicious. You can never go wrong.
Crispy baby corn is a must try
Decent Indo chinese food option, better than the restaurants on Journal square
We had veg manchow soup, garlic noodle, kofta balls in garlic sace
If you're a fan of the Indian-Chinese cuisine like I am, the kind you'd find back in India, then you must try the food here. I am not that much into Indo Chinese food, I mainly went there for my wife and she loved it, called it THE place for Indo Chinese from now on. I really liked the atmosphere and the pricing was pretty reasonable. Menu options are also plenty
The best indo Chinese I have had in New Jersey. I love their chicken manchurian, fried rice and momos. Very friendly staff.
Good tasty food
Food is great, one of the best places for indo Chinese in New Jersey. I liked the chicken manchow soup very much, American chopsuey, Hakka noodles, chicken momo are all great. They do have parking for their customers.
Great food , great service, nice staff in reasonable price
The food was filling, ordered szechaun chicken, chicken teriyaki, and an appetizer, which were chicken Wantons they had a pinch of meat inside which was a little disappointing. I'll give it another try. Maybe today was an off day
We stopped by because someone recommended us about this restaurant, we tried the fried veggie Momo’s / Veg hot & sour soup / panner chillie & Veg fried rice. The only thing I liked on the menu was the fried rice.
A Culinary Fusion Delight
Tucked away in the heart of Jersey City, Szechuan Mirchi is a culinary oasis that celebrates the vibrant fusion of Indian and Chinese flavors.
Szechuan Mirchi's menu is a masterpiece of creativity and innovation, offering a tantalizing array of dishes that blend the bold spices of Szechuan cuisine with the rich flavors of Indian cooking.
Whether you're indulging in the fiery heat of a Szechuan-style stir-fry or savoring the comforting warmth of a fragrant curry, each bite is a revelation of flavor and texture that leaves a lasting impression. Szechuan Paneer and Vegetable Fried Wontons are my favorites here.
In conclusion, Szechuan Mirchi is a true gem in the world of Indo-Chinese cuisine, offering a culinary fusion delight that is second to none. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine, Chinese cuisine, or simply love exploring new culinary horizons, Szechuan Mirchi promises an unforgettable dining experience that will keep you coming back for more.
Update.Absolute terrible front desk service. Girl lied about food allergies after I asked about it. Walked back and gave me attitude and told me they only make it one way ..AFTER I came back! Lies. Manager tried to make it right but too late. I've told everyone at my office about the balls on this person. I'll take the 45$ +tip loss and lesson learned.
Service was okayish
Food was very disappointing. The momos layer seemed raw. The manchurian felt burnt and chilly potato didn’t have chilly.
I’ve been here few times. When the restaurant was new the food and service was good. We had bitter experience last two times. I took my friends there today and it was a big disappointment. We all left hungry from the place. Food was under cooked and tasteless. I told the waitress regarding it and she didn’t care about it at all. I do not recommend this place to anyone anymore.
I ordered UberEats from this restaurant for dinner. The Kung Pao paneer smelled and tasted off. The smell smelt like it was contaminated with some sort of chemical, like polish, and the taste had a bitter taste to it. Since this was an ubereats order, there is no way to “send it back” so I’ve filed a report with Ubereats. I also called the establishment to inform them since maybe there was an accident in the kitchen, but they denied and tried to explain that the ingredients of the dish cause it to smell different. But I guarantee if i was served this in person in the restaurant, everyone would be able to smell what I’m talking about. I also guarantee that if I were to eat the entire dish, or if anyone else would, they would probably fall sick and end up in the hospital with some sort of poisoning.
I’ve had mediocre food before, I’ve had bad food before. This is something different. This food is contaminated.
Good food, and they have parking space as well.
Food so bad, you want an instant refund. The best thing they have is coke.
Burnt gobi I manchurian, fried momo was more like samosa with thick skin, momo sauce was way below average, had multiple other items, waste of money.

What a terrible place. The food was bland. The servers were so rude. Expensive for no reason. Bad. Don’t go. Terrible parking space also.
Amazing food.
Egg fried Rice and chili Chicken dry is awesome. Can’t wait to try other dishes next time
This place is so amazing because of the food. The workers are also really nice and I love it!
Great place for comfort Indo Chinese food fare. There soups, momos and noodles are a hit. The entrees are a bit of hit or miss. Highly recommend for order-in on rainy cold evenings dinner.
Good food, service not so much. They had their own parking which was a relief.
I am surprise to see good review for this. Go ahead and try yourself the most overrated hyped indo chinese food. People who left good review about this place, I doubt they have even tried any chinese before. Their sweet corn coup was stale, american chop suey lacks chicken with no taste. There is nothing good about this place at all. Save your hard earned money and dine somewhere else rather.
Samad the guy who took care of us was an amazing and great host . He did a lot for us to come back and enjoy .
Bravo
Service was bad. We ordered 2 lunch specials. They gave us the side quickly, then forgot that we ordered food. They did this to another guest in the restaurant. I think the surprising thing here was that the place was not crowded at all. Maybe three orders total. Waited one hour for our food. Food also was too oily and undercooked. Definitely not coming back.
Food is really tasty and good. Ambience was also. The only problem was the waiting time.
Food taste is deteriorating
Ordered hot and sour soup it had weird smell and when I asked cashier she said it’s because of sone mushrooms. STAY AWAY FROM SOUPS 🤮
Everything else was whatever the only thing I liked was Hakka chicken chowmein otherwise I would have rate this as a one star.
I told the waitress that I couldn’t have the soup because of smell and left all of it. And the cashier still charged me for it.
OVERALL: food was whatever and service was whatever. Won’t go again and won’t recommend at all.
Good good and good portion sizes
Plasticky uncooked noodles served with gooey sauce. Chicken pieces were just out of the frozen packet and thrown uncooked onto the sauce. Never going back. I figured many positive reviews are fake, trend in language and style.
Too lazy. Food like package. . West time and money
Superb
Worst service ever
I liked the food and service!
Fantastic food, a bit slow sometimes but always worth the wait. Every time friends visit, they make me come here, so it's pretty much a monthly ordeal at this point.
always a great experience. everything on the menu is delicious.
The best indo chinese spot in north Jersey. I have never had a bad experience here. The dimsim chicken, chili fish and hot and sour soup are my go tos. Very great service
Delivery was good but food not amazing very mid
If I could give this place a zero I would. Food was reheated repurposed and still cold. One served you could tell the food was old and stale. There was hair in the food. The staff looked like they could use a nap. I had to call them over rather than they checking up on us. Over all a terrible place to eat or visit. Star is for decor only.
My recent dining experience at this restaurant had both positive and negative aspects. Firstly, the food was a mix of highs and lows. Some dishes were excellent in taste and truly stood out, while others were disappointingly below average. This inconsistency in food quality left me with mixed feelings.
However, what left a sour taste in my mouth was the service. It was poor, especially from a college student who seemed to be a part of the staff. Not only was the service slow and inattentive, but I was also surprised when she demanded tips for her service, which is not a common or acceptable practice. This definitely left a negative impression.
On top of this, the restaurant was a bit on the expensive side, considering the overall experience. While I don't mind paying for good food and service, the combination of average service and a high bill made it feel less justified.
In summary, this restaurant has its ups and downs. It's worth a visit if you're looking for specific excellent dishes, but be prepared for inconsistent food quality and a service experience that could be improved. Additionally, the pricing may not match the overall dining experience
We went here on a day when we were really craving some indo-chinese food and must say that all our cravings were satisfied. We tried the chilly baby corn, vegetable Hunan wonton soup and the Chinese veggie chop suey. All the dishes were tasty, spicy and presented well. I loved that they gave us fortune cookies at the end of the meal! Their menu is huge and I can't wait to try some of the non-vegetarian items next time.
Nice Indo Chinese Food, Reasonable Price, Pleasent Service. Had Chicken corn and Veg Soup, Spring rolls Gobi Manchurian and Chicken Fried rice. All Good
It’s my go to place now. Had been twice here and tried different Indo Chinese food and all the dishes served were tasty and keeping me crave to visit again soon. Thanks to the chef and staff for this amazing experience and feels of Indian Chinese in the states even for a vegetarian person like me is super awesome. Thank you and keep rocking.
If you want authentic, delicious and perfect indo-Chinese food, you will have to come here. I have been ordering food online from here every time. It’s delicious. The restaurant is very clean and a romantic ambience compared to others in the JC strip.
Below average indo-chineese food.
Good
Food was nothing like the hype in the reviews.
Quantity of the main dish is laughable specially for the price. I am going to avoid this place in future.
I have been to place for dinner and lunch several times. I do like that they do not compromise with taste if you love Indo-Chinese, this is totally your place. I love that they have wide options for vegetarians as my family is vegetarian. I do have non vegetarian diet for my self so this place is my go to place every time I am in Jersey city. I have had Manchurian at multiple places from NY to Florida by far they have best Manchurian hands down. Also they have best Chili Garlic noodles.
Delicious food! Various vegetarian options. My favorite were the chili crispy potatoes. Definitely coming back to try other dishes.
So delicious. The momos were authentic and so good.
This is the best restaurant you can find in Jersey City!
Great food, one of the few places where the food actually tastes like authentic Indo- Chinese.
The Vegetarian Manchurian was too salty and too spicy. We need to cancel the order. The chicken teriyaki was too sweet and had extra bbq sauce . The appetizer were good.
Delicious food. This is the only place that i have found which is similar to the indo chinese taste that we get in india.Their momos are the best. The size, filling, outer layer and prices, everything is on point.
We got the Veg momos for take out from here and they were okay. The spicy red sauce was horrible in taste though. I was hoping that this would be much more of an Indo-Chinese fusion but didn’t meet our expectations.
Food was amazing, it was our first time to this restaurant, not disappointed at all. Good indo chinese food, customer service is very efficient.
Parking can be a little tight .
