I recently dined at Zapp and had a hot pot experience that left me with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the atmosphere was fantastic. The restaurant has a warm, inviting ambiance that sets the stage for a relaxed meal. Additionally, the cleanliness was impeccable, with the dining area and restrooms spotless—a clear sign that they take hygiene seriously.
However, the dining experience itself was less than stellar. The service was notably slow, and it was frustrating to wait so long for our order to arrive. The seafood served with the hot pot was also disappointing, as it didn’t taste as fresh as one would expect. Given that seafood is a key component of the hot pot, this was a significant letdown.
The servers were not very attentive, which only added to the frustration. We had to flag them down multiple times for basic requests, and it felt like they were either short-staffed or not well-trained.
For a hot pot restaurant, preparation is crucial, and this is where Zapp really needs improvement. The ingredients should be prepped and ready to be cooked by diners, but that wasn’t the case here. It seemed like they were struggling to keep up with demand, which affected the overall experience.
In summary, while the atmosphere and cleanliness at Zapp are commendable, the slow service, less-than-fresh seafood, and lack of attentiveness are areas that need urgent attention. With better staff training and management of the hot pot preparation process, this could be a much better dining destination. For now, it’s a mixed bag, and I hope they can improve these aspects soon.
The food was very good, but wish I had known some of the portions were so large, we could have shared more. I loved the rice noodles, the steak and the vegetable platter. The scallops were fresh, but cooked up to be a bit rubbery. I guess I prefer them baked or sauteed. The employees were very helpful. Kind of pricey for a well garnished ramen soup.
Just to start this review off I want to say I definitely would recommend “HOT POT”. today was my first time trying this place and it was an amazing experience! I started off with the TARO for a drink without the bubble and it was an excellent choice, very creamy and had awesome flavor. The crab Rangoon was very creamy, light and had a very pleasant egg flavor. definitely the best crab Rangoon I’ve ever had & Spring rolls were very light and fresh not a ton of flavor but definitely a nice treat! Of course the main course was the hot pot and it was very flavorful. I ordered the ZAPP for broth to mix my meat and veggies and it was the perfect amount of spice and flavor .. I will say, the spice will creep up the more you eat . 😁
I gave this place 5 stars for the experience !
I've gone here once before and was blown away at the unique and wonderful experience my partner and I had. The first thing you do is pick the broth. The spicy broth is out of this world amazing and extremely spicy 🔥 😲. It was burning my mouth but I couldn't stop eatng it. Next , you pick the items that you want to cook in your broth. The items are served raw, the directions on how to cook them are very easy to follow and the experience is so much fun.
I came here a second time with my sister, I raved about it and just had to take her. When we arrived , we found they were closed for re-stock , two hours. We tried to find another place in the area that would give the same experience but there weren't many options that matched. My sister and I decided to come back when they opened again, no regrets. Once again they did not disappoint.
My advice is if you are going with multiple people and all of you want veggies, get the veggie plate and split it. There are two sizes. It will save you on the bill at the end , as each item is individually priced and you can choose as many things as you want . It can get very pricey if you aren't careful.
If you are lucky , you will get a server who doesn't mind topping your broth off when it gets low and you have more food to eat.
The melon boba tea is so delicious. It was a key component in calming the burn from the first visit when I tried the spicy broth. Extremely refreshing and effective.
The dipping sauces for the meat/ dumplings were amazing ! There was a peanut sauce that was rich and flavorful , a nice salty soy based sauce , and a sweet and sour sauce.
We ordered ramon for the noodles and a veggie plate to share. I picked the pork slices and she picked the shrimp and pork dumplings. Both of us ordered a boba tea for a beverage. It was around 54 dollars (give or take) before tip. Well worth it and perfect for a fall/cool day.
This place is clean, bright, colorful with high quality vegetables and meats and tasty desserts. The staff was very friendly and took their time teaching us how to use the hotpot stoves, the service was prompt but everything was tasty. The menu had many options for the kind of meal you might want including none hotpot items. The nice thing about this restaurant is that each one of you as the guest have your own pot and don’t have to worry about your family members eating an item you’ve been waiting to be ready. So each one of you at the table can choose your own broth and items to add to the broth. Everything was on one level so no pesky steps for those in a wheelchair. This is a great place to introduce someone that has never done hotpot before and for those that are pros you could find new desserts and items to try.
First time eating here. I am used to going to AYCE hot pots, so this was definitely a change paying by each pick. Everything is priced individually, and you get to build your personalized hot pot. Since it was our first time, we didn't go too crazy. It was about $3 for broth, $6-8 per protein, $5 per veggie, and $3-5 per noodle. They did have a good variety to choose from. I highly recommend getting all 3 dipping sauces. Our absolute fave was their signature sauce. It's got some spice, but so flavorful! Broths (we got tom yum and chicken broth) were amazing! Nice clean flavors. Everything, especially the meats were high quality and fresh. Definitely coming back! Worth the drive for us. For 4 people and having each broth, a couple of proteins and veggies and Boba drinks, it wasn't too bad. Average price was $25/person.
Honest solid place for hot pot. Broths were great and all ingredients tasted fresh. Staff were kind and attentive. I’m not going to discount other people’s experience but please give this solid place a shot. Their service was great.
Went here with my friend to celebrate both our upcoming birthdays. The food was way out of my comfort zone. I usually am picky with trying new things but MAN! Am I soooo glad I did. This place was so amazing. The experience, the flavors, the atmosphere. The waitress was very kind and did her job well. We forgot to order something and it came out in one second of us ordering. A cook came out and offered us more broth. It was just so cool. Highly recommend!!

Got hotpot was absolutely fantastic, the Crab Rangoon's come ready to order and are delicious. Staff was extremely nice and very attentive. 10/10 will be going back
Honest solid place for hot pot. Broths were great and all ingredients tasted fresh. Staff were kind and attentive. I’m not going to discount other people’s experience but please give this solid place a shot. Their service was great.
Food is so bad that I don’t even know what to say.
Take your receipts...., left mine behind and they added a a second generous tip for themselves.
All broths were just hot water and salt - absolutely no flavor - over priced - small portions bland as possible - freshness was okay - all folks in the party need to order individual broths which was also so weird - stay away and drive south if you value your money and actually respect hot pot cooking
Horrible.

I enjoyed the placed. the food was good but the service was really awkward. upon finish the first round of food, my friends and I wanted to order more and the person servicing us seemed genuinely confused and it felt like we were being rushed to leaved and it ended up making us uncomfortable. if you had hotpot before I wouldn't really recommend this place.
Mine and my sister's absolute favorite place to go
Amazing food! We will be making this a regular date night spot!
Rich, incredible tom kha gai with noodles, and wonderful service!
Could have used more noodles for everyone then just a few bites but broths were amazing!

Get the tom yum broth it is the best broth I have ever had. It is creamy, and has a slight kick ( not too spicy). The staff is super nice and helpful if you have questions about how long to cook certain food. We also tired the Thai wings , wow super crunch and juicy 10/10 must get

best hot pot but expensive
Amazing Hot Pot! Great food and great staff.
Great food and broth. Felt very rushed to get out unfortunately!
I gave this place 5 stars for the experience !

Everything is still delicious. The only thing I could say anything about is that the large vegetable platter seems to have gotten much smaller for the price in the last couple of years. Also, more broth please. Only a little was added when I asked for more and it was getting thick and didn't cover the food that I was still trying to cook towards the end. Still a great experience and delicious food for my bday dinner.
Way too expensive for hot pot. Meat portions were crazy small (and thin) while being 6-7 dollars per plate. Almost no taste except for the chicken dumplings. Even the 16 dollar veggie platter was small. After the broth got low it was refilled half with water.
Starting with the service girl was lost she didn't know anything about nothing in the place, also 90 dollars for two people is expensive for some vegetables and 5 pieces a pork and 1 egg never again better go next door.
Not many hot pot spots around but this place is good 👌 👍
We traveled two hours to experience hot pot!
Very tasty and enjoyable experience.
Me and my two kids tried the Chicken broth with chicken, beef, the small veggie plate and wide noodles.
We had fun cooking the food, and the result was very tasty.
For dessert, we did the sticky rice and milky pancake. They didn’t seem to like the pancake, but I did, so it worked out!
The waitress was attentive and there were no issues with the order.
Overall, we would come back again. It’s fun!
We are from china, these things are very expensive compare to others we spent 46 per person when we just get it casual。
Worst hotpot ever, three pieces of meat and two pieces of leaves costed us $140…
First time eating their food. It was very good. The people were very nice also
Enjoyable experience
What can I say .every time I come it never disappoints .ladies are the best snd food is always fresh and spot on .
Excellent Thai style hot pot & appetizers. The MaMa noodles, grilled beef, crispy chicken (karrage) & chicken satay are all top notch. Service & staff are excellent as well.
Everything about this place is excellent from the food to the service to the atmosphere. The karaage is incredible and the hot pot options phenomenal. Affordable and fun.
Zapp Hot Pot is the best place I’ve ever been to. When I was searching for hot pot in New Hampshire I got a few options. I tried another place called Pink Bamboo and didn’t think it couldn’t be topped but then I went to Zapp Hot Pot and I can’t turn back!
We live in Littleton NH so we drive almost 2 hours and it’s so worth it! The give you all the options you want, from veggies, meat, broth, the dipping sauce and so much more!
The food is so savory, the atmosphere is amazing and the experience is something you’ve 100% gotta try if you’re around. The staff is also extremely friendly and happy to help you out if you’re a first timer.
Looking forward to many more weekends at Zapp!
Pretty decent hotpot
Sometimes Soup is what's for dinner! Asian influenced choices of broths, plain or spicy with numerous choices of vegetables, meats, fish, and noodles to cook in your broth! Several side dipping sauces are available. Each seat has its own cooking well. All ingredients come al la cart, so you get only what you want in your soup. This is a hands on experience and a great lesson for children on how to make their own lunch/dinner soup! Appetizers as well as desserts are on the menu also.
My dinner was delicious!
It was interesting to try out Thai style hot-pot. Food was decent, but very overpriced with very very small portion of food. Staff was weird, she was kinda pushy to get us to order when we weren't ready... we were still looking at the menu and she was like what do you want for your soup broth, okay what meat do you want, any vegetables? Even when we said uh I still need some time to look at the menu, she just repeated the questions all over again like she didn't care to wait at all... There wasn't other customer at the time, and we literally just sat down for like 10 sec, not sure why she was rushing us....Despite the hotpot soup broth tasted fine, we still wouldn't go back.
Very good but expensive!! I tried Ibasaw on rt. 60 in Malden. $40 all you can eat hot pot!!.Phenomenal!! If Zapp did something along those lines it would save us a monthly ride to Malden.
This review is more for hotpot lovers!! If you’re looking for shabu kinda hotpot, this is NOT the place! This hotpot has like Thai twist. Still flavorful if you’re into that. Just not like Japanese shabu or sichuan style. Price is still pricey for a small portion. But I guess everything is expensive now. Staffs are friendly… I went in with no expectations… give it a try anyways.. just not for me!
Wwnt to lunch with 3 others.Excellent place. Food was very good. Service was excellent. Will definitely be going back.
Before I start Zapp and Bankok share the same door just head on in.
First off I rarely give 5 stars and this place came close. The Tom Yum broth was amazing. My wife and I went with the medium and enjoyed it. I will probably try the hot next time. I agree that the a la cart ordering adds up but honestly prices are going up on every thing we enjoyed the vegetable combo small along with pork, chicken and shrimp dumplings and fish&shrimp balls. All were tasty. The 3 sauces for dipping are all good I am sure you will find one of them to be a favorite. Our server/host was very nice and helped us with the process and suggestions regarding our heat settings.
Went here a couple of weeks back. They were severely short-staffed and it took them almost an hour to bring out the food, AFTER we ordered. Also, fairly expensive for the quality of food and does not compare to places like KPot (where you can pay $30 for good quality, all you can eat hot pot). Just a terrible experience.
Absolutely delicious hot pot
Good spot for hot pot
I was only there for the hotpot and it became clear it was not authentic or very fresh, the dumplings are just one from the grocery store and upcharged. Pretty disappointing.
Nice place and comfortable, the staff was very nice and helpful but for the quality of food, it was very pricey. Would recommend going somewhere else if looking to spend over $100 for 3 people to get food.
Best food a d service of any Asian restaurants in the region.
Fresh and interesting style of eating out! Definitely give it a try!
I would give this place a 0 rating if I could. One of the worst hot pot places I have ever been to. The food was not good quality, and the price is not worth it at all. Usually, a hot pot place would cost around $30 per person, this place charged for every item added to the hot pot with average price of $7 per item. Will never go back here.
Very clean great staff great service and food is on point
More than just a meal, also an experience! Step one was to choose your broth and then you could make a selection of meats, vegetables, dumplings or noodles to add to your hotpot plate. You then put the different ingredients into your hot broth (which cooks in front of you) and you create your meal! Wonderful service and very clean restaurant, this is most definitely a hidden gem.
Happy Travels
First of all, this is not a Chinese hot pot place. If you like Tom Yum and strong herb-flavored Thai food, this might be your place. But I’m more into a traditional Chinese style hot pot, which generally comes with Sichuan spicy broth and fresh beef. If you’re looking for quality meat for hot pot, you will be disappointed. This place only provides frozen / not fresh beef or pork.
Friendly staff and amazing food!
1st time there will definitely be back food was full of flavor
I crave this place atleast once a week! Best hot pot I've ever had, The staff is very pleasant and friendly and they have directions on how to cook each food group. I highly recommend the Tom yo broth and the hot pot sauce to dip your meats in! So savory you can taste the umami!
The food was ssoooooo good. Thid was our first experience at a hot pot style restaurant so it was really overwhelming. But once we finally ordered and got our food and cooked at the table it was super good.
First. Time at this place - food fresh and hot pot cooking gave me lots of ideas. A bit pricy for 2 at lunch but still very good
This place was awesome. I've gone to a hot pot place in Chelmsford before and it was one big pot of broth for the whole table. This place however, every guest had their own separate broth. Every item showed a picture and listed if it was gluten free or soy free. I got the Tom Yum which was very flavorful! Tai iced tea was also really good! I would definitely return here. Great service!!
It was a different kind of experience. My spouse loved it. She loves sup. I am not a big sup person.
It's about time !!! Real Chinese food !!!
Freash, Fun, Friendly, and a New experience for most in this NH area.
This place is unique with regard to the fact that they also serve Tai food too (2 in 1). Left side Tai, right side Hot Pot. I personally love the Hot Pot experience. The seating is plush and comfy. There are TV's strategically located playing instructional videos throughout the dining area. I recommend checking out some YouTube videos about Hop Pot cuisine beforehand to learn what to expect and after a couple of visits here, you'll be an expert in no time.
My friends and I were looking for a Hot Pot experience without having to drive into Boston for an over-priced experience. The Zapp staff is very friendly, the food is fresh, the restaurant is clean, and the cost is reasonable.
Best hot pot in the area! Prices are reasonable and tables are a good height (great for tall people with you)
Staff is so friendly and they have bubble(boba) tea!
Food is pretty good, my sister and I found hair in our food
First time coming with my family and had a wonderful experience. The food was really good. We will come back again!
Great you have to try the Tom yum broth!
It is amazing
This was SOOOOOO much fun! The servers were really nice even when we burned things to the bottom of our pots.
This place is so cool and has great options. Definitely recommend trying the hot pot side of things as its quite the experience! Staff is friendly and polite.
Good price delicious food
Love Bangkok! Best Tom yum soup!
I miss having Thai food. It was good to find a local place.
We love the hot pot here, great fresh affordable options!!!!
Place is BOMB. Cheaper compared to Boston hotpot/Shabu. Will be back this week!
The food is simply delicious! The staff are very helpful and sweet. Definitely a favorite dining spot!
The food here is phenomenal. The meat and vegetables were farm fresh. I suggest the Tom Yum broth as the base. Had the salmon, pork belly, ribeye, and fish balls for protein. The flavor was divine. I write most reviews after I leave. This one I am writing here because experience was so good. After the meal, I had the mango sticky rice. It was honestly the best I have ever had. You can't go wrong with this place.
The best Hot Pot I have ever had! It was well worth the drive. This is my new go to spot!
I miss coming here! Such a great dining experience and good food
This place is AWESOME. Their Thai is awesome (seriously - best curry sauce ever, every color is delicious) and their hot pot is to die for. We do Thai if we get it to go, and hot pot if we sit down and eat. We're here like once a week. The people are super nice too! If you ever ate at Thai Kitchen when it was in Derry, their food here is on par (and that's saying something, cuz Thai Kitchen was awesome too) but the hot pot takes these guys to a whole new level. If you haven't tried it here, you're missing out!
Although the food is great, the staff aren't that friendly and their hours are just plain odd. We were VERY disappointed when we got there at 8:13pm only to be told they were already closed. The lady said they shut down the hot pot 30 minutes before they close for the night. Technically we still had 2 minutes, but beyond that, the hours online, on the google maps, AND on their door state they close at 8:45pm. Again, odd hours. We were extremely disappointed- we drove an hour JUST to eat here and thought we were good getting there just after 8pm. My husband was very upset and doesn't want to ever come back. I have worked in restaurants and this is the least customer oriented business I've dealt with in this entire state.
Very tasty and a fun experience
Great as always!
This was my first time trying a restaurant that does hot pot. Zapp is very clean and has a lovely blue theme going on. It was so cool cooking all your own ingredients right in front of you! The meats were delectable and the veggies fresh and crisp. The ladies taking care of us were real friendly and polite too. I left feeling content and thrilled. Great experience!
If you can't make it to Chinatown for hot pot, go here! If you are new to hot pot, this is a good introduction.
Surprisingly fantastic. Will definitely go back
The hotpot was not bad but overpriced. We ordered bok choy and spinach for veggies and they weren't fresh. Would you consider offer combo options at better deals for meat+veggies+noodle? Also, I would love to see an option for all-you-can-eat hotpot at one price.
Absolutely fantastic food and staff thanks for a great experience!!!!!
What a wonderful experience
Tasty food
Cool concept (saw it in NYC while there but never went)
Ingredients fresh
Tasty
Staff is wonderful
Will be back soon!
Awesome experience!! Cannot wait to go back. The hotpot was excellent, fresh vegetables and fresh beef, or what ever you choose, build your own soup, cook it at your table , great sauces. Fun time. I have eaten hotpot in Taiwan and Singapore , and this place in Londonderry is just as good. Tiger Beer too!!
Very good and healthy for a nice lunch
This place was excellent. Food was great and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Sooooooooo good, awesome to finally have hot pot near Manchester
We had gone to hot pot yesterday (Sunday). It was a very different experience. You get to choose what you want to put in your soup/ noodle bowl. Unlike other hot pot that I've been to, you get your own individual burner/ heater and you cook it right in front of you. My daughter was so delighted that she could cook her food herself and could choose what goes in it. The staff were very helpful as it was 1st time for most of us (except for me). They told us and even showed us a video on how to cook. Came down to instruct us in between if the burner needed to be simmered down. We enjoyed this experience to full.
