Noodles, spicy curries & other traditional Thai fare whipped up in easygoing quarters with booths.
If you ask my wife, this Thai restaurant is the stuff of legend; the best Thai restaurant in America. When we visited Omaha recently, I knew we would end up here eventually. The environment is pleasant. The service was par for the course. The food was something special. The amount of flavor that the pad Thai and pad see ew we had punched was without a doubt incomparable with any other Thai restaurant I have been to. This place just has a back home in Thailand type energy. You can almost imagine the Thai grandma back in the kitchen preparing your meal with love.
I just want to say Salween is amazing. They recently switched their ordering format to online only. We eat there all the time and love it. We recently ordered food online and accidentally order 4 of the wrong dishes but did not notice until we got it home. I called and they graciously said they would make the correct dishes at no charge and to come back. It was a great gesture and I wanted to let everyone know this is great restaurant. I will be putting this restaurant on the top of my list and eat there often.
Ordered takeout. Got Drunken ramen noodles combination spice level 3. It was delicious perfectly done well flavored and spice was right for me. Also got fried dumpling, and wontons both done very well and dipping sauce was very good. Highly recommend and the prices where reasonable for the quality of food you get
Fried samosa triangle puff 4 stars
Nice and crispy.
Filling is a to bit bland but still tastes good
Steamed dumplings 4.5 stars
These are pretty standard for dumplings but they are elevated with crispy fried garlic and their dumpling sauce is good
Pad see ew 4.5
Drunken seafood fried rice 4.5
Drunken noodles 4.5
All the above are good choices. I found this after eating all 3 my mouth felt like there was too much seasoning though. Too much salt and sugar.
So best to eat in moderation.
We did have some service issues though.
The person serving was very friendly but not very professional.
We did not get one of the items we ordered though we are not charged for it. By the time they spoke with us, they said the kitchen was closed.
There were other service issues but that's an example.
Not a huge fan of Thai food. However, I thought the quality of Spicy Chicken and Rice I received was great and tasty. I'll echo some of the other reviews and share that I agree that the portions are not great especially for the price. I definitely had room for more protein. The servers were great!
Had the pad-ka-pao and it was very good. In spite of being the only server, front desk person for takeout, and taking call in orders, the server was incredibly personable and helpful. This is a classy place to eat.
Spice is customizable from 0-10 with 4/5 being comparable to a spicy Mexican meal. The server shared that someone had recently ordered a “25” recently and ate it with no trouble. If you’ve ordered this, please share.
If I were to make any recommendations it would be to give your server samples of all of your dishes so she can give her opinion when asked.
The food tasted good. I just wish there was more of it. I echo the other more recent reviews that my portion size was very disappointing. It just didn’t seem like a reasonable trade off for the price.
For $14 and some change, I expected a bit more. As soon as they handed me my to-go order I thought this is incredibly lightweight even before I opened my box. I would understand the cost if I knew they did fresh-never-frozen and high quality ingredients but I have a feeling they don’t (and that’s okay but not for this cost). If this is what they offer than I’d rather go to another local Thai restaurant that is about the same price that’ll atleast give me a proper serving. Salween has always had a loyal following but competition is tough.
Slow service

i LOVE THE RED AUTHENTIC SAUCE!!!!! this is the best of the west the easy peasy lemon squeezy the high tides good vibes they are not all right they are all left 😎
I have never ever had pad Thai that had red colored sauce.
Very nice restaurant. Clean and friendly. I have had several dishes here and all have been great! I have done both lunches and dinner.
please take me off your “do not pickup” list. I fell asleep and forgot to pickup my order but now no one picks up my calls. I love your mookrob, I’m a student who gets hungry after a long day at school and it makes me upset that I can’t even enjoy the only mookrob place I like. please reconsider your actions

Love it
This place was very nice, friendly and helpful staff. The food was delicious. I was a little leary at first as the neighborhood was a bit scruffy, so it was a pleasant surprise overall!
Coming from out of state i did not know what i should get for dinner. The reviewers on this store persuaded me to order from here and i do not regret. I got the fried drunken noodles spice level 3 and they were excellent. I like a decent amount of spice but not to the point where it is uncomfortable, i could have gotten a level 4 probably but still thoroughly enjoying. I also got the steamed dumplings and they are excellent.
My absolute favorite place for Thai food! It's delicious, the sauces are fragrant and rich, and the portions are decent. The music is a bit loud, and the service is a bit slow, but it doesn't matter because this food is the bomb!
Great place with even better prices, dine in or carry out they will not miss, forget or get the wrong item in your order also one of the quickest places. If you're ordering takeout from home you better make sure that you live in Dundee or close because its ready super fast !
Wonderful!
Favorite Thai restaurant of all time! We moved away after school and every time we come back to Omaha we either eat here or take out at a minimum. Best Pad See Ew you will ever try. Massaman curry and pad thai are also top tier.
Service was slow but polite, smaller servings, Pineapple Curry was good, Garlic Pork was below average.
Love the pad thai
Tasty food. The place was busy with takeout. Would eat there again.
Great drunken noodles! Will be returning here in the future!
Super bummed. Very little flavor or spice.
My favorite place to eat! Food is always very good and tastes so fresh! Try the veggie spring rolls and chicken fried rice, you won't regret it!

Also got fried dumpling, and wontons both done very well and dipping sauce was very good. Highly recommend and the prices where reasonable for the quality of food you get
We really enjoyed our visit to Salween. It was recommended to us by a colleague and they were right! The food was fresh, the service was great and it's a good value.
I wanted to try something new and the helpful server suggested the Pad See Yew. It was delicious and I will definitely be ordering it again in future. We also got a Thai iced tea and the green papaya salad, which I really like and was really fresh and tasty, though my hubby isn't a fan of the fish sauce taste. The spring rolls were okay, but the mango fried rice was also good. Overall a very good experience and we'll certainly be visiting again in future.
Great experience!
Thank you.
First timer. The service was great and our server was knowledgeable and explained some of the dishes. It was very clean and the food was great!!!! We will be back
Dinner for 3= $45. Not bad.
Pad Thai and Kana moo Krop are unrecognizable and the taste are not even ok. So bad that I’m not coming back here again. Just hope the cooks are not Thais then I’ll feel a bit better. If you guys are Thais, shame on you
The food was just ok but no one ever checked in with us.
We were sharing entrees. Were never given extra bowls or plates. Twenty percent was automatically added which I never would have given due to lack of attention. Had to flag down server to get anything after they dropped food. I've had better $100 meals at Dennys
This is an amazing restaurant with wonderful food. Their Mossaman Curry is worth coming back for.
Killer vegan Thai food found here.
sweet smooth delicious pad thai, better than mercy thai
The food is booboo; lacking quality meat, flavor and spice. They don't even use jasmine rice. I tried this place twice and will never go back. I'm upset that the overall average patron review is 4.6 stars...
Salween Thai in Omaha, NE is a must-visit restaurant for anyone in the area. The food is delicious, and the service is exceptional. I recently ordered a catered meal for a work training that served 30 people, and everyone loved the menu items I chose. The drunken beef, drunken chicken, veggie pad thai noodles, appetizer sampler, and satay chicken were all delicious and well-prepared.
What I appreciated most about Salween Thai was the excellent service. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with my catering order. When everyone in my group complimented my choice for lunch, I felt like I had made the right decision in choosing Salween Thai.
If you're looking for a great meal or catering service in the Omaha area, I highly recommend Salween Thai. They have a diverse menu that will satisfy any craving, and their service is top-notch. I'll definitely be returning to Salween Thai for future meals and catering needs.
I gave 4 stars because they do not deliver. I had to pick up.
Small parking lot.
Was treated very bad by a rude young lady tonight. When we walked in she did not greet us. She looked irritated and like we were an inconvenience. Me and my husband sit down and she tells us we need to hurry up and order because they stop taking orders at 8:30. My husband ordered Tom yum soup with shrimp. I ordered rat tan noodles which are specifically under the noodles portion on the menu. The girl comes back with Tom yum soup but no shrimp. She totally doesn’t ever come back and check on us. I ask her if she’s going to bring the shrimp for the soup and she ignores me. We are starving so my husband started to eat the soup. Then she brings the bill. I told her that i need to speak to a manager. She says there is no manager and what’s wrong. I told her why did she not bring the shrimp for his soup and she begins to argue with me that we never ordered shrimp with our soup. Then i asked her why were my noodles full of soup. I didn’t order that. She said that’s the way the dish is. She noticed that i wasn’t eating it and didn’t like it but kept ignoring me. She kept arguing with me so i told her that it wasn’t working talking to her can she give me someone else. She goes to the kitchen and i hear some girls laughing and talking about me. Then another waitress comes out and i ask her if she is a manager and she said no just another employee. I told her my concerns and she said we will take off the charge for my husbands soup but not the soupy noodles they gave me that i didn’t eat. At this point i was wanting to leave and get out of there so i just said fine. I am usually a great tipper and usually we get great service but not sure where or why this young lady was so rude and the food was so bad. Gave her a big 0 for a tip. Please teach this young lady some customer service skills because we were faithful customers who will not be back.
Amazing food!!! Way better then other locations!!!!!
Food was delicious, I had the drunken noodles which had a certain amount of sweetness. I definitely could have done a higher spice level than 1
used Uber Eats, chef did not put any sauce on the Pad See Yew. So plain noodles. Meal was pointless, did not eat.
Great friendly staff food is good
Great food excellent portions served in a timely manner.
What can I say the a lot of people haven't already. This place in my opinion is the best Thai restaurant in Omaha, and is definitely worth a try
some of the best and authentic thai food around
Used to love good place but after I we y to eat there the other day got a sampler, they don’t give each two anymore. They just give cheap stuff now.
Lovely staff, excellent food at a very good price.
I have noticed that the ingredients are down to a minimum amount compared to 4 years ago. The $12 pad thai had one 2 inch green onion and a 4mm slice. No burnt peanuts or any nuts at all. One wedge of lime(thank you for that). The dish was made as cheap as possible. This is sad because they had the best in Omaha 5 years ago. I did not have a single rice noodle that was longer than 4 inches. I lived in Thailand and the $00.37 pad thai was magnitudes better. I had zero burnt peanuts. I had only food coloring with noodles so mushy they were more like a casserole than a noodle dish. There was no tiny shrimp, nor krill, no peanuts, no onions, no shallots, no chili peppers, no pork, no veggies, there was a small amount of fried tofu and there was a small amount of quality bean sprouts and no herbs of any type! Zero Ginger! The spring rolls had only one shrimp rather than the 3 slices that is standard. The sauce was not peanut but watery trash. There was not a single herb nor any sprouts. It was made as cheap as possible. The green lettuce was fresh and very nice. It was crisp and fresh. I added some peanut butter to the "sauce" and fish sauce with some 🌶 and it helped cover up the fishy-ness. This is still one of the best thai eateries but not all locations are the same and if you order just before closing you might get trash. Sadly, it seems like they are cutting their cost! This is a bad idea. I only order from them to eat the veggies from East Asia. If I buy the veggies from the Asian Market next to Crossroad's Mall I can never finish them before they go bad. This is why I love to order from restaurants that serve Asian veggies. I can easily boil noodles and rice paper to wrap cheap shrimp with green lettuce... I want the bright flavors of thai basi or sawtooth coriander. This chain has cut too many corners, they have cut corner after corner to save money. That might be ok IF they STILL had the option to pay more for traditional flavors. I know prices are expensive, but it is not cool to charge the same price for what I got, it was just noodles, sugar, salt, food dye, and a slice of lime. No chopsticks nor anything. A burnt styrofoam container with a leaking bottom. My carpet cleaner thanks you for the business. I have noticed huge variations in the amounts of food from location, one give double the amount of peanut curry while the one next to my home on 80th gives half. You have made great food in the past. Please please please, if an owner is listening... Order pad thai and a peanut curry just before closing and use Door Dash. You will see and taste the difference. I want the food you made before.
Consistently good, always friendly.
Delicious!
Since the food Thai was sold. This is now the spot. Don't like the flavor of the fresh spring rolls. But Egbert thing else was fire.
Used to be some of the best Thai food you can find in the state and maybe the whole midwest. It literally used to taste like how food tasted back in Bangkok. Now they charge you almost double for subpar overly sweet and drenched in too much sauce drunken noodles. I get that you need to raise prices, but maybe at least maintain the food quality? I've been a loyal customer for years but it's time to support other better local businesses.
Great food at reasonable prices! The Pad Thai is superb!
Not a huge fan of Thai food. However, I thought the quality of Spicy Chicken and Rice I received was great and tasty. I'll echo some of the other reviews and share that I agree that the portions are not great especially for the price. I definitely had room for more protein. The servers were great!
I ordered the Drunken Noodles and it just didn't have much flavor.
Food was so-so
Had the pad-ka-pao and it was very good.

One of my favorite places to eat in Omaha. Staff has always been nice. Did not like the sausage/rice balls but everything else I’ve had is good.
The food was hot and very fresh. We went during lunch so it was quite busy and with 1 server service was slower. The food was good and they do a spice level of 1 - 10. At a 3 you can kind taste some spice if you needed a reference.
The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. I have never been here where there was a wait to dine-in. The servers are quick and attentive. The food comes out quick and warm. Also, the food is very consistent.
The only minor draw back (I would give this place 4.5 stars if I can) is the temprature; it can be fairly cold in there.
They were very busy during my meal but still quick to get food and drinks out to my table. No complaints
Nice employees and atmosphere
Both the pineapple and mango fried rice are amazing.
The food tasted good. I just wish there was more of it. I echo the other more recent reviews that my portion size was very disappointing. It just didn’t seem like a reasonable trade off for the price.

Getting more better
Care about customer
I always order the Massaman chicken curry at a 5 spice level and am never disappointed! My cousin orders pad thai at zero spice level and loves it. I appreciate that we choose different spice levels and each get the meal that we want (I actually crave).
Service was fast and our waitress was very attentive. Highly recommend!
Wonderful! I just spent two weeks in Minneapolis enjoying Thai food and Salween Thai is as good as any of those. Omaha is fortunate to have a wonderful place like this to enjoy.
Perfectly executed.
I recommend to everyone.
Ordered Soup for 12 bucks, it showed up half empty, none of the vegetables it was supposed to have in it, I ordered a 3 level spice out of 10, and it was so spicy I could barely eat it, not to mention a weird sweet after taste. The chicken satay was dry and cold. Would not recommend. These people are crooks.
Loved the Chicken Pad Thai. They could use more high chairs / booster seats
Delicious! Staff is always really friendly.
This place was clean, the staff was kind, cheerful, and helpful! The food was very reasonably priced. Everything was AMAZING! The best Tom Kha Gai I have EVER eaten! I have had this dish all over the country! It was so fresh and perfectly seasoned! My husband had Panang Curry and loved it! My daughter ordered the Tom Yum Kung and gives it a 9 out if 10. To add to the joy of this place, the rice is served in adorable heart shape! Wish we lived closer so we could come again! We will be back next time we pass through Omaha!!
Ohhh basil friend rice and massaman curry, you sweet, sweet delicacies.
This place is very reliable with classically spicy and umami Thai dishes.
I have been ordering delivery from them for the past few months. The food is great. However, the last 2 times I ordered from them, the amount of food I got from ordering the drunken noodles has been halved. Yet the price is still the same. Unfortunately, I will have to find a new Thai place.
If you like Thai food then you would like this place. I hate the way the place smells so it doesn't allow me to take part in eating the food because It gives me am overall headache. But it's popular and it's always clean. If you can get past the smell then it's a go for you. The best location is off of 72nd a Pacific it doesn't have that smell, and parking is better, ots more spacious than the one on saddle creek. The saddle creek location has constant car crashes because it's very difficult to get into.
It is really sad to see the state of this restaurant, because it has gone down hill quite a lot since I was a regular. I used to go here twice a week and came back since I was in the area. Not only has the quantity of food been more than halved, the protein to carb ratio in the food is non existent and the prices have gone way up. And the quality is even worse than that, I got the spiciest they offer on chicken pad Thai and got a noodle dish with very little flavor or heat. We also got an order of samosas and crab Rangoons, with both being under cooked and under filled. The goons were not even fried enough for the dough to be cooked through. I know it is rough times for businesses everywhere, but at some point the quality is just too poor to look past. As it stands I can't recommend anyone get food here and I hope that they are able to turn it around.
Food is amazing. Sometimes I get an extra order of Pad Thai to have the next day. After spending a few weeks in Thailand, I think this is as close as you can get in Omaha!
The parking lot is so tiny but that's the only complaint I have. Always great food.
This place is a scam. They scam you especially if you’re Karen people. Ordered food through phone for a pick up and the lady said it’s $35. When we pick up the food, it’s over $45. Went to dine in with only party of two but they charge us for gratitude tip. These people look down on Karen people especially the owner (that skinny girl) she’s pregnant now.
Good place to enjoy Asian food Karen people who work there are friendly
10/10 my favorite Thai place in town. Salween never disappoints!
An amazing Thai food place in Omaha that I have been to so far. The customer service is quick and I would recommend going to this place
One of our favorites in Omaha, really good food, watch out for the spicy!
Delicious but they aren't the spiciest
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. I've had their fried drunken noodles with pork (heat level 4) more times than I can remember and it has always been so consistent and good I had to leave a review 👏👏👏
Sad bc I hardly ever rate a poor experience, but this one was bad. The food (rice way too soft) , service (took over 30 minutes to get food to the table / maybe over cooked rice). The eggs rolls were really good though!
Fresh, tasty, probably the best thai I had in Omaha. Love the added touch of the rice served in a heart shape. Exceptional attentive staff. I will be going back. Thank you
Great Thai restaurant specially for the price. friendly staff, great tasting food which is reasonably expensive. I noticed their shelves full of delivery orders which means the place is really popular. They do have a limited parking space which results in many patrons parking on the street, etc.
AMAZING. PAD THAI AND PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE SLAPPED.
Only ordered to go but food has been ready quickly and very tasty.
We rarely walk out on a restaurant but this was one worth doing. Came in right about opening time. No one was at front desk or in the dining room. We were the only ones there. So we sat ourselves. Waited 5 minutes or so and a party of 5 came in. A waiter came out and sat them. He say we were sitting there. After a while he came out and waited on then but not us even though he new we were there ahead of them. Very rude service so we walked out. We'll never go back again and we'll tell our friends about the poor service. Too bad. We're loyal customers if we're treated with a little respect.
Mixed experiences, wife who is Thai, loves the pad Thai, I've tried several other dishes, that just miss the target... Had fried rice this time that was soagy and wet, like it just came out of the rice cooker... Food is overall fine, but not authentic.
Food was good
So good, my new favorite restaurant in Omaha! Check them out on the DoorDash app also.
Daughter loved it
We have ordered dine in and take out from this restaurant for lunch and for dinner. We LOVE it. I have ordered the drunken noodles, dumplings, chicken fried rice, seafood fried rice, and a curry or two. I have not ever been disappointed with the portion, quality, or taste. Highly recommend the drunken noodles!
It's a good thing that the tip was already provided when I called in a take-out order. Ordered online and it was stated to pick up at 7:36PM. Got there right at that time and no food yet. I can understand that's it's not right on time. Waited a few minutes and then I find out that they were not aware of my order. No apologies, no offer of a drink while I wait for my order. No one apologies for the 20+ minute delay in finally getting the order out to me. Just disappointed in their customer service and lack of disregard that they didn't meet expectations.
Amazing food! Portions were okay but a little smaller than expected. We will be back !!
When I ordered my food I specifically said I didn’t want it to be too spicy and it was so hot I could not enjoy the meal. When I called for a refund I was told, well that’s what you ordered. I wasn’t pleased with the customer service at all.
The Thai food is great mostly, I have had some rice that seemed stale
affordable and delicious. quick and easy choice. the pad thai and drunken noodles were great.
I ordered take out and ordered the drunken noodle and the pad Thai with tofu. The tofu was burnt and dry and tasted chewy and terrible. The pad Thai was made with glass noodles and so it was extremely clumpy and there weren’t any sort of veggies in it. The drunken noodle veggies tasted terrible and didn’t look anything like the pictures. We have had Salween Thai before at their pacific location and that one is 10x better. Low quality food and I will not be returning here again. They must not care about their takeout orders at all because this was bellow subpar.
Delicious!!! Pad Thai is so filling, spicy, and affordable.
Great service and excellent food. The Drunken Noodles here are some of the best I’ve ever had.
They need to do better about answering phones. I gave up at one point trying to reach them. It’s very frustrating.
If Walmart served Thai food, it would taste just like this place. I've had better Thai at carnivals.
For those who have given high ratings, you haven't had good Thai before. First timeer, ordered chicken satay (not fresh chicken), Green curry (like water), pork and beef tough and hard to chew. The worse is that the rice was wet and soggy. Super disappointing. Can't believe reviews anymore.
My food was cold and the chicken was so tough I could barely chew it. The appetizers were overcooked
They take over an hour to make an order and others that ordered after me got their orders before me.
I tried practically everything on their menu and the food is 5 stars, absolutely perfect. But they only ever seem to have one server who has to balance like, 10 tables at once so service is slow. With that said, our waitress was super nice the whole time.
Good food, and also good customer service. I also like the ambiance. My hubby liked it too! Pad Thai is delicious.
Food and service were wonderful
Great food slow customer service tho
Excellent Food! Love it!
THE BEST THAI FOOD IN OMAHA! Food is always 100% and you can't beat the prices.
So good.
