Stylish destination serving an array of elevated Thai dishes & tropical cocktails in a modern interior.
A Disappointing Thai food Experience. The food I ordered was not prepared as I had requested, and the quality of the ingredients was noticeably low. This was one of the worst Thai meals I've had in the Omaha area. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. It's a waste of both time and money. There are several other excellent Thai restaurants in the area that offer much better value for your money.
I was here for lunch along with some of my friends. The place is decent and so is the food. I ordered the mango fried rice with Tofu and its not great. My friends ordered cashewnut tofu but later found out that cashew nuts were missing. When asked about it they said nuts were there but we didn't find any. They screwed up my bill charging me for some other dish which is actually pricer than what I ate. The quantity of the food is very less and they don't serve anything along with the entree. Over all it's wasn't a great experience and I may not go back there again.
It's not good - there are plenty of other Thai restaurants around here that are better in nearly every aspect. I've ordered basic dishes here, like pad thai and fried rice, and they're not good.
So disgusting 🤢🤮 never again will trust Mai Thai Restaurant for my food…had my money back but I couldn’t undone the fact that I already had it in my system🤮🤢😭 thank God my kids had their food already and hadn’t had a taste of it. To anyone who cares to read reviews next time you eat there, please do yourself a favor to meticulously check your food cos there might be traces/body parts of COCKROACH in the food that you ordered. To the restaurant please be responsible in serving customers with clean/safe food. Calling OMAHA, NEBRASKA FOOD AUTHORITY to check FOOD SAFETY HANDLING and/or FOOD SANITATION in the said restaurant location. Filthy 🤢🤮 #MaiThaiFoodWithCOCKROACH
Mediocre vibe with supposedly live music performance, although it wasn't happening when we arrived. We ordered the spring rolls, beef Pho and beef Drunken noodle. Out of the 3, the spring roll, an appetizer, was the only menu that tasted decent. Pho was okay and drunken noodle was way too sweet and not spicy at all. I asked it to be redone but they just gave me spicy pepper powder. Most likely won't be going back.
While this place has been decent before, we got take-out from there today. The food looked fine, however they have really fallen down on quality and taste. Meat and rice were mushy, vegetables were the only decent flavor. Basil leaves in the rice tasted like old fish. I have never had worse.
Clean. Kind customer service. Nice decor. Tvs on almost all 4 walls.
I'm not a big fan of these kinds of food so the taste wasn't my favorite but it was good.
Serving is Big, or at least for the fried rice plate. They have different prices for lunch (weekday only) & dinner (pricier).

The owner is awesome! Great customer service & delicious food! <3
Best thai food in town , and great service as well .
Best boba. Best rice. Best Thai place !
Bathrooms could be cleaner. But the food, service and atmosphere are great. I had the cashew chicken. It was very good. I ordered fried rice and the rice was soft and full of flavor.
Great food!!! Prices were right, too.
I have eaten at the Mai thai in aksarben village multiple times and loved my food. I went to this mai thai and did not have the same experience. I usually order the pho which I did again today and the server advised me that they were cooking their pho different now, he explained that it would have peanuts. I decided to try it anyways. It was really bad, they put all the dressing that you normally add yourself already in it they added peanuts and they added hoisin sauce before it even came to me. They did not put out sprouts jalapenos limes basil, like normal restaurants would. I don't think I'll go back to this location anymore. Also had the mango wontons and they were not too edible.
Won't be coming back. Terrible service. Unprofessional to say the least. Don't recommend.

Food is amazing
I ordered a drunken noodles and a fried rice . Which is about 14 per entree. The portion so little that not even enough for a kid . When I called back to tell he just listened and said that’s how it is and cut the call . So rude customer behavior . Food is not so good too . So much oily. But later the manager called back to apologize and said the credit will be applied next time I visit .
Might be the worst, most under seasoned food in all of Omaha.
Good food, no wait
Our go to ! Love the crab Rangoon’s! Food is always fresh and hot when pick it up!
I started getting all symptoms of food poisoning an hour after eating lunch on last Friday(3rd March, 2023). I had bad stomach pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. I took DRUNKEN NOODLES with chicken.
We have been to many Thai restaurants but this one, our first and last. As soon as we walked in, our waiter Alex was so rudely shouting at us for water, then soon after, we had ordered red curry, but it was like soup and when we asked, why is the curry so watery, his answer was, since there were vegetables its runny, Rice was not even cooked and noodles were not good. Overall we did not enjoy the food not the service and not going back there again.
Not too good. Food was sweet all over. The quality of preparation wasn’t clean. Very cold ambience as well.
They have a live band if you come in on certain days and nights
I live right around the corner from Mai Thai, food is OK, it is definately one of the more expensive Thai restaurants in Omaha. I always order Pad Prik Kingh, in which the main vegetable is green beans. They don't know how to make it because what I get has no green beans in it, lol I don't complain because it's actually pretty good. They will not win any awards for being the friendliest Thai restaurant in Omaha.
Stop gouging your customers. I ordered a simple cashew chicken LUNCH order for $9.00, over my lunch hour. Ring me up at $15.00 same order size. This is the second Thai restaurant that is doing this. Please be aware!
Delicious!
Waited at the counter for a to-go order for over 10 minutes with no employee in sight. Food cost $22 for one entree and a small appetizer. It was inedible, tasted burnt and smelt like charcoal. Then found a white hair in it. So gross. Won’t ever go back
Good ordering experience, food was hot and ready on time for pickup. Drunken noodle (chicken) was a good flavor, but sweeter than I'm used to (more onions and peppers, perhaps?). Not as spicy either; their 5 on a scale of 5 corresponds to about a 6/10 at my favorite place. Don't bother with the spring rolls; they're just mostly shredded iceberg lettuce and a sprinkle of grated carrots in wrappers. Aside from that disappointment, everything else was good, and the servers were very polite and cheerful.
Mediocre quality. Service isn't great either. They fail to check up on you after food is dropped off.
Its impossible to order take out on the weekend because no one answers the phone. Eating in isnt comfortable because they keep the air too high (hot) and there isn’t enough staff.
Love coming to this restaurant 😋 they have the best chicken pad thai and good choices for kids.
Inconsistent and regularly disappointing. We've gotten take out and dined in at this location multiple times and usually get the same thing. The fried rice can have strong and rich flavor one day and the next be completely bland. Same with the Pad See Ew and Bangkok Noodles. They are also very inconsistent with spice levels. Many times I've ordered a spice level 3 (out of 5) and have had zero spice. I have also gotten a 1 or 2 and it be way too spicy. When the stars align the food is amazing, it's why we keep going back. We've found that the Askarben location is more consistent and will be driving the extra miles to go there instead.
Great food with large portions however the atmosphere and service at the 144th location were a bit lackluster. My utensils were dirty, as well as the appetizer plates. This location doesn't have its liquor license so couldn't try the delicious sounding cocktails. Honestly, I will eat their food again, but as take-out.
Was there when it was supposed to open, waited for about 20 min after opening and it was still dark. Tried the doors and both sets were unlocked but there was kids bicycles in the doorway. There was a light in the back but nobody answered when I called out. Left and went to a different restaurant
They have great service and tasty food
Clean place, great people, service and tasty food.
This place is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in all of the Omaha area. I love to go here as often as possible they're ties tea is great they're drunken noodles are great The pad Thai is great they're soups are great Everything is great I love it.
Terrible food. From their website, it looked like an very nice place. You walk in the door, it’s like a dark bar, with cheap tables and chairs. Food was bad, did not look anything like the website.
Mediocre vibe with supposedly live music performance, although it wasn't happening when we arrived. We ordered the spring rolls, beef Pho and beef Drunken noodle. Food was delicious 😋. This location has expanded since my last visit. Awesome service.
Food was good. Service was below standards. Clean. Too many large screens without shows
My first visit here, and perhaps Covid times is not the best experience. I love Thai food and have eaten it in restaurants all over the world and over a three months stay in Bangkok over a three year period. So I know what the real Thai food is like. Mai Thai was deserted even on a Sunday at 2 PM, and I saw only one other couple there and a takeaway pickup.
The service was OK - perhaps the waitress was bored by the lack of customers and so was whiling away the time on her Phone. The table I was seated at hadn’t been cleaned well and a couple grains of cooked rice remained. It happens. I ordered the whole Pompano fish, and specified that I wanted it really hot (5 on a scale of 1-5). It was barely a 3, too sweet sauce and while the presentation was impressive, the flavor less so - it’d been cooked so much that everything was burned crisp. When I asked for Chili oil tray, I was told all they had was ground chilis and a hot sauce, which still helped me eat the food. I regretted driving away from the Vietnamese restaurant that was my first choice.
I’ll likely give it another try before abandoning it forever. Maybe another more often ordered dish might be better prepared. I’d advice anyone familiar with and liking spicy food to be careful about their expectations.
First visit was magical. The magic has been quickly declining with each consecutive visit.
bruh i paid like $12 for a pad thai, $4 extra for shrimp, so $17 total. i paid like $4 for shrimp but literally got 3 pieces, and the amount of pad thai in the box was severely underwhelming, especially for the price. will not be going here again smh i am sad now. the employees were nice tho
Don’t advertise that you’re open until 2:30pm and then lock the doors and not answer the phone at 2:05pm. If you want to be closed at 2 PM then close at 2 PM.
Go here, and go here often. I have eaten at many of the Thai restaurants in town and this is by far my favorite. You can expect fast, friendly service, and quality food every single time. It has literally never let me down. I order the pad see ew with chicken and golden Buddha dumplings and I’m. In. Heaven.
Great food. I get pho and it is fire. Only down side is the spring rolls suck. It’s filled with way too much lettuce and no shrimp. It’s almost like a salad instead of a spring roll. Every other restaurant that serves pho has delicious spring rolls except this place. A-for the pho. D- for the spring rolls.
Food and service is always great here. But for some reason it is always hot and sticky in there. Like sitting on a porch in Florida... If it wasn't for that I'd give it 5 stars.
Really like their dishes. Small family type of restaurant. 👍
Great food and the staff is always so friendly!
This place is always so yummy. 😋 We got the chicken in mud, fried tofu, edamame, tom kha kia, and some sweet garlic chicken wings. Absolutely great. One of my favorite Thai places in Omaha.
Loved it. Great food.
Good food, plan on about an hour for the experience, but everything tastes fresh, had Shrimp Tom Yum, order small bowl unless you a big eater, took half home for lunch the next day, egg rolls were good flakey wraps, not you usual fried log.
I tried to order takeout during the posted hours and was turned away saying they are closed. I left work early and walked in at 2:10 to order takeout. I had also already tried calling 5 minutes earlier and got no answer. I was told they would reopen for dinner. I was really looking forward to trying this place because I love Thai food. Be wary the posted open hours are more of a suggestion.
Waited for over half an hour for food. Wasn’t acknowledged but once when walked into the place. Very disappointed with the service
Excellent food and service
Tom yum soup is the best on the planet. Pad thai is awesome. Egg rolls are on point.
Best Thai restaurant ever!!!
Great food, and great atmosphere.
Delicious!! The tom yum soup is my absolute fav!!
Hands-down they have the best Thai food in Omaha. That being said their wait times are horribly inaccurate and the staff is often frazzled and chaotic.
Food was amazing but service was horrible. Last 2 times I’ve been there they never bring me what i asked for until i ask again and again. Server would purposely run by us without looking at us so we wouldn’t ask him for anything. I understand because it looks like they are short staffed. They definitely need to hire more servers.
Wonderful experience. Great food and service
Best Thai food I've had in a long time. Reasonable prices, good service, delectable food. I don't leave reviews unless my experience was really good or really bad, and this is a restaurant I will absolutely plug as really good. I will be getting more in the future.
Delisious Cashew Chicken and Crispy Chicken
Food was excellent, service was amazing. The waiter was so nice and thoughtful. They had awesome vegan options like the tofu vegetable red curry and the drunken tofu noodles with lots of veggies. They were very adaptive to my vegan lifestyle. I was thankful for that. They have a vegan dessert too. Mango coconut sticky rice. The mango was PERFECT! I liked that it was pretty quiet
The food I got was a lot more spicy than I expected but the flavor was amazing. I recommend getting the Devil's Gate Pad Thai if you can handle some heat.
They had No AC on one of the hottest days of the year 🥵 also apparently we got there pretty close to time for.cook.to leave they reassured us it was ok but still after getting food home it seemed rushly made🤦🏽♀️pretty sure we won't be back! First impressions is everything 🤷🏽♀️
While this place has been decent before, we got take-out from there today. The food looked fine, however they have really fallen down on quality and taste. Meat and rice were mushy, vegetables were the only decent flavor. Basil leaves in the rice tasted like old fish. I have never had worse.
Excellent noodles, curry and Pho. Try the combo beef pho, drunken noodles and fried tofu appetizer.
Didn't have an awesome experience the first time, but gave it a second shot. Glad I did! The food was nice.
All aspects were awful. Food, service, $ for what you get. It was terrible
Our first time here. We ordered carryout. Our order was missing an item. They made it while we waited and watched our food get cold. Still charged me full price. The crispy duck had good flavor, but that was about it... pad thai very bland no flavor, white and refried rice very poor quality, mushy texture and flavor. I dont normally leave reviews as I was in the restaurant business for almost 20 years but had to leave this one.
The employees was soo nice I injoy my stay there. The food was soo delicious and worth it. I recommend this place😋❤️
Nice food
I've tried most everything in the menu and cant pick a favorite because I love them all. Anything with yellow curry bring it on.😁😁😁😁
Spent $17 for shrimp and crab fried rice. there were 5 pieces of shrimp and the crab was so fine I couldn't find or taste it. At 3.4 per shrimp and rice that was over-cooked and mushy, this was not worth $17.
Very good!
Delicious food, staff were friendly. Best thai food in omaha
Great boba drinks!
I order papaya salad laos style they said it ran out. Then I ordered Vietnamese ice coffee they said it ran out. Really? I got there at 12 noon. The place only has about 3 tables. Then I ordered fresh spring rolls it's 2 cut in half so 4 pieces paid 6.00 for it and there's no meat!! Over price. Wil never be back again
There's a few items here I always crave--chicken in the mud and pad thai. The appetizers are rather plain, but you get enough food with the meal. You say how spicy you want your food based on a rating scale, but it really depends who makes it. I've had 3 be super spicy or not at all.
Traveling from Arizona and we stopped for dinner
Excellent food and service
Good menu options, quality food and prompt service.
Made reservations seven days in advance. It took 16 minutes for someone to take a drink order. 30 minutes and we only have water. Worst service ever! Would not recommend! 39 minutes, still no food or drinks. Walked to Romeo’s! Do yourself a favor and not visit this restaurant.
Yum yum
The food is always really great, though service can be intermittently slow (not with food prep, but taking the order, getting the check, refilling water, etc.). This applies more so when it's not busy even, so understaffing isn't the issue. They have always been friendly however.
I recommend trying "chicken in the mud" and "garlic chicken", those are my favorites here, whereas I prefer a thicker curry at Thai Spice for red curry. The massamun is authentic and tasty however, so I'll also get that here too.
I love this place. I always get the drunken noodles with beef and a Thai iced tea. If you're trying to decide if you should eat here, the answer is yes.
I've been coming here since 2006. I knew it when it was just a hole in the wall, owned by a very nice man who would mix my Thai teas by hand himself. Fast forward to today - they've expanded the main location and opened one in Aksarben. I like this place so much that we even rented it out for our rehearsal dinner. They served loads of our favorite noodle dishes (people also like the pad Thai) and my family, friends, and I enjoyed a fantastic night of drinks at their new bar and of course, karaoke.
If you've read this far, stop what you're doing and press navigate on your Google maps. Mai Thai is the answer.
Good food and good portions when compared to other Thai food restaurants. Had the Thai basil fried rice. The spring rolls are delicious! May try a noodle dish next.
The food is delicious!
service not.Good!! wetting long time for water.and Table was mess..
I've love the food here for over a decade now and it is the best I've tried in Omaha by a significant margin. I've tasted every dish and even my least favorite were still good. Close your eyes and point, try something new every week.
Food was average, prices were a bit higher than I thought they should be. Also the food came out almost immediately after we received our appetizer.
Good but pricey
I was here for lunch along with some of my friends. The place is decent and so is the food. I ordered the mango fried rice with Tofu and its not great. My friends ordered cashewnut tofu but later found out that cashew nuts were missing. When asked about it they said nuts were there but we didn't find any. They screwed up my bill charging me for some other dish which is actually pricer than what I ate. The quantity of the food is very less and they don't serve anything along with the entree. Over all it's wasn't a great experience and I may not go back there again.
Poor service. Food is okay and large portions. Asked for drunken noodles with chicken no mushroom and no bell peppers. 1st got tofu with everything. Second time recieved with chicken but still had mushroom and bell pepper. Server was very slow. Nice inside though kept clean and looked new
Today my daughter and I visited the Mai Thai on 144 and West Center Road. During the course of our visit, No one EVER came to our table to take our order, it appeared the employees were all hanging out in the back of the store. My daughter eventually had to go find someone to take our order. We ordered soup for starters and after waiting for some time we decided to leave. My daughter had to go find someone to pay for the soup. The service was extremely poor and it makes me believe this is why there was no customers in this restaurant.
Amazing food, excellent service, good price!
A MUST GO
Food was amazing. The service was prompt.
Delicious fried spring rolls and a nice portion of chicken pad Thai. We've enjoyed another location in Aksarben and this one is just as good.
Average food, and pricey for the taste.
Love the Drunken Noodles!!!
I ordered red curry and the quantity got reduced by half compare to previous weeks.. not sure is that a friday effect or any other reason. Taste wise good
Great little spot, good atmosphere. Best thai curry in omaha so far for me.
Outstanding! Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and the great service. The calamari was like a tempura and was delicious!
not really too picky with my pad thai. and the spring rolls are pretty good as well!
Different but appealing
I found a roach in the red curry.
Great experience
My favourite restaurant!! My favorite dish is Chicken in the Mud. Best appatizer is Fried Buda. Their hot Jasmine tea is wonderful and so are their mai thai's.
