Quiet, great for lunch.

Update: The Tom Kha soup is one of the greatest things I've ever eaten, highly recommend.

Diner Review №2

Easily some of the best Pad Thai I've ever had! So tasty 😋

Diner Review №3

I should've read the reviews first.
First empty parking lot on a Saturday night (bad sign). Second a sign saying "We don't do refunds or exchanges. Know what you order" which loosely translates to we are doing a bad job but we think our food is good. Third bad sign the restaurant was clean but looked like it was out of the 80's or 90's, which to me means they had their hay day and never thought to adapt. All these things were reasons for me to leave which i realized immediately but I had just watched kitchen nightmares and thought this might be a funny experience.
On to what actually happened. We got to the front and the waiter/hostess had us wait to sit, but there was no one in the restaurant, no one on the phone and there was another employee that wasn't a waiter. We ordered and she was sure to repeat our order multiple times ( This wasn't an attack on her but shows what the owners are stressing). The appetizer came out bland and the sauce saved us from eating what I could only compare to water. My wife's dish was actually cold (not like warm) and overwhelming amount of shrimp paste. We sent that back quick, guessing they just put it on the stove for another 2 minutes. My dish was good and hot.
All in all an inconsistent experience that was just bad. Just like every other review whether 1 star or 4.

Diner Review №4

The red chicken curry and egg rolls are the best I have ever had. My husband had the tofu veggie stir fry and the tofu was cooked perfectly. The hot tea was even good. Restaurant is a little outdated but the service and food were incredible!!!

Diner Review №6

After seeing the other reviews, I'm not sure if I just got takeout on a bad night or what, but my food unfortunately was not good. I got pad Thai, the flagship dish of American Thai cuisine, and I'm not actually convinced the noodles had any sauce. There was almost no flavor; for a brief moment, I wondered if I had covid again. Then I had an egg roll, which was solid. So I can recommend the egg rolls, but would not recommend the restaurant on the whole.

Diner Review №7

1/4 of the dishes weren't available including all the salads. Sign outside said beer and wine but nothing was available. Food was good. Peanut noodles said it came with carrots but had peas instead.

Food was good but the experience was disappointing.

Diner Review №8

Diner Review №9

Good local spot. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Diner Review №10

Always love every dish I try and the customer service is top tier! Highly recommend!!

Diner Review №11

Diner Review №12

Lovely place for some delish food. Got a variety of appetizers and each one was great. Definitely unique recipes which makes for a better experience.

Diner Review №13

Delicious. Mango Cashew Stirfry, pineapple fried rice, and pad Thai all so good!

Diner Review №14

Diner Review №15

Amazing food!!!! Authentic... delicious... full of flavor. Got 5 dishes and enjoyed them so to the last drop

Diner Review №16

So good! I love having a delicious option down the road for a quick and easy pick up. Mai Thai staff has been friendly and efficient.

Diner Review №17

The place is little too warm for a restaurant. Everything else is ok.

Diner Review №18

Great Service..👍🏾

Diner Review №19

This was my first time trying this place. Pad Thai with veggies was awesome! And they made it gluten free, which was unexpected and delightful. Will for sure be back to try more dishes.

Diner Review №20

Diner Review №21

PrefectO rice sticky N nice 👍

Diner Review №22

Diner Review №23

I've been coming here for a couple years now and haven't found anything on the menu that I don't like.

Diner Review №24

Diner Review №25

Don’t judge the book by its cover. More like don’t judge how good this Thai joint by the look of the building. The building looks like an old diner. When you get in, it feels like you are going to eat diner’s food. But the food, I just say this place offers great Thai food. The menu might not have a long list of options to choose but what they offer has all it takes to be considered a good Thai food. Will order food from this place again.

Diner Review №26

Chicken drunken noodles were very spicy at max level 5 with a big generous portion. Dish was good but slightly under seasoned. Would try again.

Diner Review №27

Mai Tai is the best!!! I love this hidden gem and all the lovely people that make this place a wonderfully delicious way to satisfy my cravings for outstanding Asian cuisine😋!!!

Diner Review №28

Food is delicious. I’ve had about half the menu and haven’t had a dish I don’t like.

Diner Review №29

Diner Review №30

I absolutely love coming here to get the pad Thai or drunken noodles. It's my payday reward every time!
The staff are nice, they know their regulars and calling in an order for pick up is so quick and easy.

Sidebar: I love pad thai, I've traveled a lot to eat pad thai, this place has great flavor that truly beats any competition (if there was any local competition) but isn't... That's how good they are!

Side-side-bar; ask for 5 star spice... You won't regret the heat. It's amazing

Diner Review №31

Before I get into all the positives, which are many, let's address the elephant in the room: $8.00 for egg rolls/spring rolls is FREAKING NUTS. How in the world did they get off charging $4 for an egg roll? It's not that good. No egg roll is that good. Moving on...

We ordered drunken noodles, massaman curry, and mediocre egg rolls. The drunken noodles were stellar! Big fat flavorful wheat egg noodles, perfect sauce level one spice. I've had a lot of drunken noodles, but these ones were top notch. And the massaman curry was superb. A bit too sweet, but it's one of those rare dishes you cannot stop eating even when you want to. Massaman is comfort good at its best. Service was excellent and fast, prices were okay, UNLESS YOU ORDER EGG ROLLS. 😊 Take a look at the updated 2024 menu I just uploaded.

Diner Review №32

They have one of the best Khao Soi that I've ever had.

Diner Review №33

Diner Review №34

Todo muy delicioso

Diner Review №35

We dined in. The place could use some updating but it was spotless.
I have to say the ginger tea is the star at Mai Thai. Our meals were perfectly spiced I had Level 4 stir fry.
The menu is simple and basic to order from which tells me they concentrate on a quality over quantity.
I think retro is really in right now and the style in this restaurant could actually be a selling point. They have cute crocheted items for sale the front door I might request a Finnish flag purse when I go back. I live close by and this was my first time trying the restaurant but they appear to have a lot of dedicated diners base so the happy photos of customers on the wall.

Diner Review №36

My co-workers were raving about this place, so I was curious... it's okay. When we came in, it was around 330pm, and there was nobody in the restaurant at all apart from one server and the cooks in the kitchen. Anyway, the food is good but a bit pricey. It took a while to come, which may be good, right? It could mean they cook the food from scratch. The Pad See Ew was the best thing we ordered. The Pad Thai was just ok and the tom yum was too watery for me. They didn't have papaya salad when we came. Overall, it's alright.

Diner Review №37

The dishes were all flavorful. Albeit the base of the curries tasted similar. They were able to make what we ordered in vegetarian form without any fish, oyster or meat products.
The ginger tea was extremely good. So were the rice, noodles and curries.

Diner Review №38

Absolutely not! $16 bland chicken fried rice. Go to Tracks in Saint Paul.. that’s it that’s all.

Diner Review №39

We ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken, drunken noodles with chicken, and pork fried eggs rolls. Every single dish was delicious and ever bite was a delight! Despite it's unassuming location and exterior, the food and service were both excellent - we ordered pick up and our order was taken quickly, efficiently, and was correctly repeated both during ordering and pickup. We make a point of sampling the Thai food available in the Twin Cities area and this was some of the best - the fried rice was especially tasty, and was truly fried, with light char on the pineapple and no soggy grains in sight. We'll be back soon!!

Diner Review №40

Quit following me. 🫠

Diner Review №41

Diner Review №42

Friendly staff, healthy portion sizes, great tasting food

Diner Review №43

The food is SO good, but the atmosphere is just not great for dining in. As a result they have a ton of take-out customers. I hope some day they can invest in a little interior decorating and the excellence of the atmosphere will reflect how good the food is. This place really is a gem! I'm so picky about Thai food and it's fresh, creative, beautifully done. Kudos to the folks in the kitchen! We had a wonderful waitress too :)

Diner Review №44

Ordered food for pick up. The best Thai food I've had since my last visit to Thailand. Very fresh veggies.

Diner Review №45

Amazing service and quality!! We loooved the fresh spring rolls, panaag curry, and drunken noodles. We’ll definitely be back!

Diner Review №46

Diner Review №47

Diner Review №48

Great food with great ingredients. It's nice to find a place with such attention to detail.

Diner Review №49

Nice family-oriented vibe, and the vegetables were super fresh and crunchy. The staff was super nice too.

Diner Review №50

Very good food, the pad Thai is excellent and the servers were very friendly! Will be back again!

Diner Review №51

Don't go here if you love rice or a full meal. Portions are tiny for even a person with a small appetite. Food was alright......not the best but not terrible.

Diner Review №52

My first time there and the food was delicious as was the service.

Diner Review №53

LOve this place

The spice here is no joke…. When they say it is hot 4 spice level they mean it hot hot 🔥 super bomb though

Diner Review №54

Food was amazing, server with fuchsia hair was excellent, space was clean and quiet, though I wouldn’t mind a bit more bustle and vibe. No pics because I inhaled my panang curry.

Diner Review №55

Not for me. I don’t understand the high praise people lavish on this place. It’s not great food.
It’s below average quality. Thai Curry House is Burnsville is light years better than this place.
Visiting once was more than enough.

Diner Review №56

Classic reliable haunt with good service, great food at a reasonable price. I love the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken noodles), they use the real wide noodles. But you can’t really go wrong. Curries, fried rice/noodles, apps, chicken satay… all delicious. Love the classic family dining atmosphere too. Great for a regular take out spot too with one of the easiest to navigate online ordering I’ve encountered!

Diner Review №57

Fantastic Flavorful Food!!! It was a delight coming in to eat here. The drunken noodles were fantastic. The Thai fried rice was fantastic. We will definitely be back. Out of 10 I would give it a 9. It surprised us so much. Thank you for the meal!

Diner Review №58

Diner Review №59

Diner Review №60

Great dine in experience and levels of spiciness!!! The pad Thai is amazing!

Diner Review №61

A must-try in the north Minneapolis/Robbinsdale area. Delicious food and excellent service. Beware the spice levels though- they take it seriously. A three was too much for me and I have pretty high tolerance.

Diner Review №62

The waitress was very friendly and informative and the food was very tasty.

Diner Review №63

I absolutely love Thai food and seek it out often. The green curry was amazing. Shrimp spring rolls were good so was the chicken satay! Would recommend!

Diner Review №64

Delicious Thai food and overall great experience. Staff was very friendly!

Diner Review №65

The food was very good. Service was also good .. Clean bathroom . Friendly staff.

Diner Review №66

Their Pad Thai is easily the best I've ever had in MN. Service is great, the staff is super friendly and they are very responsive about any questions you might have. Highly recommend Mai Thai!

Diner Review №67

Diner Review №68

I recently had unfortunate experience of dining Mai Thai. My vist was marred by several issues that i cannot overlook. To begin with, i found hair in both rice and appetizer. This not only compromise the taste and presentation of the dishes but also raised concerns about hygiene practices within the restaurant. It was disheartening to encounter this problem multiple times during my meal.

Moreover, the water served at my table contained an unknown material. When I brought it to the attention of the waitress, her response, claiming it was "minerals" was unsatisfactory. Transparency and assurance regarding the saftety of food and beverages are crucial, and thid incident left me feeling uneasy.

Aside from these hygiene concerns, the food itself was average. The lack of distinct flavors and creative flair left much to be desired. Considering the recurrence of the hair incidents, they offered $4 (one thai tea) discount felt inadequate and did not address the underlying problem.

Diner Review №69

Diner Review №70

I'm from West Palm Beach Florida, and friends took me here for lunch. It was the best pad Thai I've had in many years. And I've got a really good Thai restaurant next to my house, and I wish it was as good as this place!

Diner Review №71

Excellent food, great people, nice location. 👍 Will for sure come back again.

Diner Review №72

Diner Review №73

Soup was very flavorful.

Diner Review №74

There's literally no negative things to say about this spot. Every dish is absolute fire. It's fantastic. The Pad See Mao is perfect. All their curries are loaded, but my favorite is Green with shrimp spice level 3. Best fried spring rolls around.

Diner Review №75

Presentation and food quality is through the roof! We live nearby and are very disappointed in ourselves for not having known about Mai Thai this whole time. We will be going back repeatedly!

Diner Review №76

What a gem! Ordered egg rolls, two noodle entrees and sweet mango sticky rice. ALL fantastic, excellent quality and large portions. We had leftovers for the next day.
They also serve a very tasty brand of hot tea (green and black). Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend both the Pad See Iew and the Pad Thai.

Diner Review №77

Massaman curry was amazing! Drunken noodles were good too. Good service

Diner Review №78

Diner Review №79

The Massaman Tofu Curry was spectacular! I wish they still had the papaya salad

Diner Review №80

I just ordered through door dash and I accidentally gave the driver a bad review. I couldn't figure out how to change it. My bad Wennie ✌️😬

Diner Review №81

Hope to keep going back till I've tried all menu items. Outstanding!

Diner Review №82

Diner Review №83

Okay, I went for lunch on Friday for the very first time and I have to say, I’m a little upset I hadn't come sooner. I was immediately greeted and treated so kindly. I had the tham Ka soup recommended by my server and omg she is truly a gem for the recommendation, I may not be spelling the name of the soup correct but I will never forget the name. One of the best soups I’ve ever tried. Perfect amount of spice, veggies and the chicken was so juicy. I also had the veggie egg rolls and fried chicken and all of it was yummy oh and the Thai iced coffee was amazing, I also had the sweet sticky rice with mango, super fresh and it was my first time having sweet sticky rice and it wasn’t too sweet just the perfect amount. It’s very rare that I enjoy EVERYTHING I try but this was one of those experiences, not to mention the restaurant was super clean and my server was so sweet and personable. I literally lived everything about my dining experience and will for sure be back. It’s also not expensive at all. This restaurant deserves All the stars.

Diner Review №84

Food was fantastic and fresh. Get the fresh spring rolls for an appetizer. So good!

Diner Review №85

This is hands dow my favorite place to get Thai food. Incredibly sweet staff and absolutely unreal food.

Diner Review №86

The food here is terrible. I ordered food for myself and my kids. My kids, who will eat just about anything, hardly ate anything at all. I only ate a portion of my meal because I was starving. The food was extremely salty…it just wasn’t edible. I won’t be going back 🤢

Diner Review №87

Delicioso

Diner Review №88

Very flavorful

Diner Review №89

The food was excellent. Chicken Pad Thai was seasoned to perfection. Thai tea had great flavor. Definitely some of the best Thai food I’ve had in the Twin Cities. And the to-go boxes were high quality.

Diner Review №90

Not the worst, just kind of meh? All spice with no real flavor and the sauce for cream cheese wontons had been dumped out, sogging everything. Likely won't order from here again.

Diner Review №91

Good food

Diner Review №92

I ordered the Drunken noodles and they were amazing! The flavour was great, and the actual noodle was perfect! Definitely my go to item now! Can’t wait to go back!

Diner Review №93

The red cury is delicious!!

Diner Review №94

Diner Review №95

Great Gluten Free options
Waitress was very sweet

Diner Review №96

Diner Review №97

Diner Review №98

I feel like this place gets overlooked because it's not in a prime location - but the food is awesome, and our orders have always been made quickly. Hidden gem!

Diner Review №99

Best Thai food in Minneapolis.

Diner Review №100

Tom kai is so good

Diner Review №101

Loved it

Diner Review №102

Diner Review №103

If i could give this "restaurant" zero stars i would. Quite literally the WORST food i have ever ordered. The food waa bland and what did have flavor was disgusting. Oh and i must mention it made my entire family sick for days! We paid $70 for food poisoning. 0 outta 10 will NEVER recommend.

Diner Review №104

Greeted with great customer service throughout the entire meal.
Summer rolls were fresh and flavorful, I paired them with the fish sauce and was a great appraiser.
The chicken red curry was so good I was thinking about it on my way home and destroyed the leftovers.

Diner Review №105

This is my all time favorite restaurant, run by the sweetest people on the face of the earth. Everything is delicious.

Diner Review №106

Everything. Is. Delicious.
Cream cheese wontons, wings, Fire noodles, curry, fried rice, and everything in-between.
Try the hot ginger tea for something to drink too.
The owner/head chef is named Joy, and she most certainly is a Joy! Always smiling, always there to answer questions or make suggestions, but she won't give up her recipes no matter how many times you ask 😜!

Diner Review №107

Staff were professional, pleasant and knowledgeable.

Diner Review №108

Diner Review №109

Updated 04/2022: still the same amazing flavors!! So glad we came by for dinner

This place is an absolute hidden gem. It's as down to earth as it gets with an out of this world flavor. Classic dishes done incredibly well. I can't wait to come back!!

Diner Review №110

One of the best Thai restaurants in MN. Pad Thai is amazing! Curry is awesome.

Diner Review №111

Great food! Loved the fried spring rolls and the red and green curries were both delicious. Will be back soon.

Diner Review №112

Diner Review №113

bland, flavorless, no substance. mostly noodles and rice with very little veggies or meat. way too high priced for its actual worth. haven't been here in years, remembering now there was a reason why i stopped. sticking with our favorite place, khao hom thai, in NE mpls. do yourself a favor and skip the disappointment.

Diner Review №114

I was nervous about eating here because it was so deserted. We were the only people eating in the restaurant and I saw only one take-out order. This was a Monday night. I'm glad we stayed because the food was delicious. I had a curry dish with mock duck. The service was pleasant and prompt.

Diner Review №115

This is no joke the absolute WORST pad thai on the twin cities. Their pad Thai consists of 1/4 thick sliced, previously cook chicken breast (which becomes dried out when they re-heat it), 1/4 thick coin-cut carrot round (you, the crinkle cut ones you buy frozen) and over cooked, mushy noodles. No peanuts, no bean sprouts, no onion, no spice/peppers.

The service wasn't much better; having to wait (while being aggressively ignored by the one employee working front of house) more than 15 minutes to be acknowledged.

If you like 'good' Thai food avoid Mai Thai

Diner Review №116

Ordered Pad Thai . Noodles were over cooked. No bean sprout egg or onion to really be seen. Hardly any chicken either. And chicken is very inexpensive and usually get A LOT from other places. Asked for very hot! No spice at ALL. And COLD. And we live less then 10 mins away. Very disappointed.
They're supposed to be none for their Pad Thai. It was just mushy noodles with a little sauce. SUCKED

Diner Review №117

Our Take-Out Order: Pork Fried Spring Rolls, Sweet Green Curry, Masuman Curry, Sweet and Sour Battered Chicken. Everything was good and flavorful. Spring rolls were heavy with egg, which was a little different for us, but very delicious. One thing that was also different but much appreciated was that the chicken wasn't tossed in the sweet and sour sauce, they came separate. At first I was confused but it actually made the dish better.

Diner Review №118

They have great food that is worth the drive

Diner Review №119

Diner Review №120

Best thai food in the twin cities area,
11/10 order from here

Diner Review №121

Great place good food quick service will definitely be there again and will even plan a private party also can't wait until they open for dine in service I bet this place gets busy and is packed usually I recommend you try this place we got the sweet and sour chicken stir fry and pork fire noodles 😋

Diner Review №122

Cream cheese wonton and basil chicken is great

Diner Review №123

Yum. Best Thai food we’ve had in a long time. Pick up was fast and easy

Diner Review №124

Nice independent Thai restaurant. I have been here many times. Very pleasant owners. Cranberry curry is a taste sensation, though a bit on the sweet side (Midwest fusion?). All the other curries are very good too. My favorite dishes are Nutty Chicken (not a curry) and Massaman Curry with beef, though tofu is good too.

Diner Review №125

Diner Review №126

Food all tasted bland and the same - definitely not coming back.

Diner Review №127

Diner Review №128

Delicious! Vermicelli salad is one of my favorites.

Diner Review №129

Edit: After calling to let them know how bad it was and being told I was wrong, that no one else complains, and being offered no refund, credit, or better food, I'm changing this to 1 star. Not sure what happened to treating others with respect and kindness, but I was the only respectful, kind person in any of the 5 interactions I had with the people of this place today.

Lived nearby for almost 6 years now and had never tried this place so decided to treat myself tonight. I usually order from Jasmine/Karta Thai which is always perfect and delicious, but chose to take a chance on Mai Thai.
I really hate to do this because it's a small, local business and seems to be family owned and run. However, I paid $35 for unflavored rice basically.

When I called to order, a young-sounding, irritated to have to be working, voice took my order and didn't have any customer service type niceties at all. I kind of felt like I was bugging them by calling.

The Shaking Beef tastes literally like little chunks of beef with soy sauce on them. No other flavors I could pick up, and the huge majority of the styrofoam container is "fried" rice. The rice also has no flavor.
I got Thai Fried Rice as well and it also has almost no flavor at all.
I got an order of spring rolls and for some reason they were fried and not fresh as I asked for. However, although I'm not usually a fan of fried spring rolls, these are pretty good and flavorful! (Which is why the two stars and not just one.) The "peanut sauce" for them is just fish sauce with chopped up peanuts in it though.

I am super disappointed for multiple reasons. I really wanted it to be good because money is a bit tight and I don't get to order Thai often, but also, I wanted to support and promote a small local business. I'm just bummed and now have to figure out another dinner option. Flavorless rice isn't gonna cut it.

Diner Review №130

The shaking beef is the bomb, 2 thumbs up!

Diner Review №131

Love their food! Their chicken and beef stir fry dishes are great. Their fried veggie spring rolls have good flavor & are perfectly crispy. Their cream cheese wontons are just as tasty, and the covering is sort of like a chewy croissant. My absolute favorite is the coconut soup with chicken! Always a random mix of vegetables are included, and it's fantastic every time!

Diner Review №132

I love this place! They use fresh vegetables and fresh pineapple in a lot of their dishes. It's the only place to get Thai food in North, and I'm so grateful Mai Thai is around. They've been pretty accommodating to my requests, but you have to tell them what you want instead of expect to get it. So if you're particular about spice or allergic to something, call them. In my experience, the person answering the phone has always been fluent in English.

Working at another restaurant in North, I can say a lot of the people like their seafood overcooked until it's rubber, which might be why a few people are complaining about the food. Thai food traditionally has vegetables with a little crunch left and shrimp is done the minute it turns pink. Not when it curls up into a shriveled sinewy nugget.

Diner Review №133

I have been here countless times before and never have received a dish with pineapple in it. Ordered $70 worth of food and every single dish (except for the white rice) had pineapple in it, which I am EXTREMELY allergic to. Pineapple was NOT listed in the entree description, but they listed every other ingredient in the dish. Maybe should have just eaten it and had them pay for my emergency room bill. VERY disappointed.

Diner Review №134

Mia Thai is awesome!

Diner Review №135

Diner Review №136

I love the pad Thai , it's very simple dishes, they don't use can product .😋🌶️🌶️
Thank you Mai Thai to keep the door open

Diner Review №137

they have vegetarian options

Diner Review №138

Extremely rude. Called to ensure gluten free items were prepared in a different location then rest of menu because I have celiac disease. The person answering the phone said they did not know and hung up on me. Called back numerous times and they continued to hang up on me. Don't go here if you have a gluten sensitivity or celiac . Also very rude, which is enough for me to never give them my business.

Diner Review №139

Excellent food and great service

Diner Review №140

I love ordering plain pad Thai, always fresh and hot. Customer service is also great, warm and welcoming.

Diner Review №141

Excellent Thai cuisine!! The vege spring rolls and Thai Basil are delicious! :-)

Diner Review №142

I’m sorry but what I had wasn’t Pad Thai. I ordered Pad Thai and it was a thinner noodle and it was drenched in sauce not soup but still it shouldn’t be like that. The taste was ok but did not taste like Pad Thai.

Diner Review №143

Diner Review №144

This is the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. The curry was runny and bland. Both the noodles and stir fry and almost no sauce.

Diner Review №145

Pot stickers are awesome, food always fresh and hot!

Diner Review №146

Shaking beef and fire noodles with catfish. Delicious

Diner Review №147

Bought pad sa eew and Thai basil stir fry. Both were very just plain and blah. Nothing close to “Thai food” The beef in my pad sa eew was undercooked and noodles were dried. 30 bucks for 2 unsatisfying entrees! Very disappointed and I would not recommend.

Diner Review №148

Diner Review №149

The food was not good my pad thai was just noodles. Without any flavor, and it was very expensive, for two plates $to much I don't recommend it

Diner Review №150

Way too much food and no taste!! Could not take more than 3 bites before throwing out my $37 order. Not good at all people. Sorry as I know everyone is struggling during this pandemic but this was not good.

Diner Review №151

Really regret ordering food from this place. Would have consider the food to be better since it was a thai restaurant. Spent 40 dollar and it was not worth it at all.

Diner Review №152

The food was garbage. Literally. We threw it in the garbage it was so bad. Pad Thai is my absolute fav. This place has a sign that says they have the best pad Thai. That is so far from the truth! I got chicken pad Thai and the chicken was the absolute worst. It had that flavor that it was boiled a week ago and about to go bad so just quick microwaved and thrown in. I nearly puked. I will never order from this place again.

Diner Review №153

Diner Review №159

Diner Review №160

Always classy, always delicious!

Diner Review №161

Amazing place! Always easy seating and they knock the food out of the park.

Diner Review №162

It's not the best Thai restaurant in the world, but it is the best one in Robbinsdale

Diner Review №163

Get the fried pork egg rolls! Friend had the pho, he said it was really good too.

Diner Review №164

They use instant rice for rice on the side and fried rice. They serve wontons that had been sitting out resulting in cold and stale wontons. Their curry was soupy instead of creamy... we spent 40 dollars on below par food. Their quality has gone down a lot. We will not be returning.

Diner Review №165

Rude customer service, mediocre food

Diner Review №166

The food has always been excellent, and the service can’t be beat. This is a gem when you’re hungry for great food.

Diner Review №167

No frills decor but great Thai food. Curries are delicious.

Diner Review №168

NOT GOOD ANYMORE DO NOT GO HERE THEY NEED TO CLOSE.

Diner Review №169

Diner Review №170

PadThai was horrible. Used pho noodles. Literally is just stuffy noodles and dry. I didn’t care about the other two fish, but expected better actual padthai.

Diner Review №171

I was a fan until I learned of the owner's hateful right wing politics, my family has stopped going there.

please understand that mai thai only has 1 server working a night because we are usually not busy, someone commented a review that our service takes too long but that was when she came in friday (yesterday) which was a very busy night, again with one person. she also complained about the duck but we do not serve duck we serve “mock-dock” which is a substitute, not real duck.

Worst food I've had at a restaurant... my dad had never had Tom Ka soup (coconut soup) and I had been raving about the magical flavors the dish can offer from Legit Thai restaurants or even making it at home (its not hard!) So i ordered that straight away as it said required 20 min to make. We made our selections from the menu and waited minuets before she took our order (red curry tofu, pad thai chicken, cranberry curry duck) Shortly later our soup came... and I knew as soon as i saw the white broth that it wasnt gonna be good. What we recieved was something like someones bad and literal interpretation of "coconut soup." All it was, was warm coconut milk, basic vegetables, and tofu. No spices, no lime, no fish sauce, no lemon grass... No Flavor. Nothing. I was so embarrassed especially because this was a $14 dish!!! It should have been $5, if that... oh and ya know how i mentioned we wanted to share it? Well it came out in 1 bowl but she did come back with 2 for us to split between ourselves awkwardly...
We suffered through the "coconut soup" because we were hungry then stacked our bowls to be collected. Finally my thai iced tea came (which was the only good thing we had) but the waitress didn't collect the bowls... we waited. Then she came with just the red curry dish with chicken... my vegitation dad was appalled. So... we waited another 15 minutes for Just the pad thai. We waited 2 minutes, expecting the next two dishes to come. Nope. So my fiance started to eat. He said the sauce was extremely overpowering, oddly flavored, and super soggy. He could only eat the chicken which was warm with cold parts (probly sat out after the mix up) finally when our currys came out (2 min after another) we told her to take the bowls as they were STILL uncollected as well as the Pad Thai cuase it was disgusting and inedible. We also expressed how poor the soup was...

I shared my cranberry duck curry with my fiance as he had nothing to ear. The currys flavor was ok. Nothing special. At least there was spice and flavor. But the duck.. yuck 😭 it was spongy and icky. So we didn't even eat that. Just so dissapointed...

The service was slow ontop of everything. I had to get the 3rd set of silverware myself.

$58 for everything. Waste of money. I could have made better food at home. I'm angry with myself for not demanding the nasty pad thai and nasty duck removed from the bill. THIS IS NOT A GOOD REPRESENTATION OF THAI FOOD 😡

This used to be our go to, a hidden little gem in our neighborhood. But unfortunate the quality of the food has gotten bad over the last two years to where we use to order from here once a month it’s now once a year. Every time we are disappointed in the taste and quality.

Amazing food. Try the wontons and pad Thai

Diner Review №193

The food was ok. The meats were supremely over cooked so you don't have to worry about food poisoning.

Very disappointed. Was craving Thai and really hoped this place would live up to the reviews. The curry fried rice was ok but the shrimp was under cooked. I asked for volcanic hot and they just threw a bunch of chilli pepper flakes on top (was hoping for some Thai or ghost peppers). Wife had the pad see yew - it was so bland she stopped eating after 2 bites. Only redeeming dish was my son's fried pork spring rolls. Sorry Mai Thai, you can do better.

Nice staff, excellent service, awesome food.

Everything here is delicious. It's the kinda place you can go to twice in the same week and it's still as awesome as you thought it would be

This has been a favorite spot of mine since I've moved into the neighborhood. The family running the restaurant is great, and I appreciate them keeping the store going. It's certainly a great spot for some fresh food.

P.S.
To the claim that someone gets put on hold over the phone to tend to customers sitting inside the restaurant is just baffling. The store isn't overstaffed, so if there is only one waiter waiting tables and taking phone orders then this will happen from time to time. Just be patient.

Definitely high quality food. It's a little pricey, but the food is delicious and worth it. The fried spring rolls are crisp and flavorful, the Thai dumplings are moist and in a delightful curry sauce, and the green curry is full of veggies. The curry had some veggies I am not used to seeing in Thai curries like asparagus, but it works. My only complaints would be that even the "volcanic hot" is not very spicy and that they don't give nearly enough rice with the curry when you get take out. Otherwise, fabulous!
