Popular spot serving noodles, spicy curries & other traditional Thai fare in small, simple quarters.
This restaurant is in a decent sized strip mall. I came to eat lunch at around noon and there were a couple other tables already seated. The chalk board seemed a little passive aggressive stating prices can change at any time without notice and that see front counter to be seated. The employee at the front counter seemed friendly and professional. I really didn't get the vibe this was a sit down and eat kind of restaurant. I noticed mostly door dash and people coming to pick up food. I ordered pad thai which is my usual fall back on dish. I felt like the noodles were way overcooked and the dish was basically a soup. If the noodles weren't so overcooked this probably could have been a good dish.
Update.
I’ve eaten here a good amount of times and tried a lot of their other dishes. I haven’t been able to consistently take photos so will add more in the future:
- Pad Thai, Gang Gai, Pineapple Fried Rice: Easily 5/5 and consistent in taste.
- Beef Pho: 4/5 as it’s not consistent. Noodles are sometimes soggy and broth is more bland here and there.
- Thai spicy wings app: 2/5. Not crispy and too drenched in the sauce.
- Yum E Shan Salad, Chicken Laab Salad, YumTaLae Seafood salad: 2/5. All their salads have a similar sauce, which the sauce itself is good and spicy. They use iceberg lettuce and really drench everything which isn’t worth reordering…
Gangpah Special: 2/5. Barely any meat. Sauce is pretty much soup. Lemongrass is overbearing.
Restaurant cleanliness: 5/5. Well organized, clean bathrooms and kitchen.
Had heard that this is the best Thai place around, and word on the street did not disappoint.
Service- very friendly, prompt and didn’t overly check in on us.
Vibe- very nice, not busy at all while we were there for lunch. So nice, quiet, and no need to talk loudly.
Food- phenomenal. Very fresh, good quality and Full of flavor.
Word of caution- the dishes do run hot, the mild “heat” was plenty for myself who doesn’t like a lot of heat.
Bathrooms - only one and it’s private (only 1 person at a time of either gender) and that’s very appreciated. Also it was clean.
Final Verdict - I would not only go back, but would go out of my way to go back.
It's frustrating that some of the local Thai restaurants but not all basically sell meals with no meat in them.
I ordered the Gang Garee with chicken, I might I have got 5 micro shavings of chicken with a high plate of potatoes and rice.
I doubt I received 2 Oz.
That aside the curry gravy was pretty unappealing both visually and tasting
I also got shrimp chips and a bowl of hot and sour soup.
The chips where great and the soup was nothing I would return for.
The service was great however and the restaurant very clean.
I've only eaten there once and I'm not sure if anyone can say they've lived until they've eaten their gang pah 😳 seriously, it was like a spiritual experience of tastiness. I chose it almost at random, since it had the largest amount of veggies without tofu. Clearly I made the right choice.
I normally order things extra hot, but this time I just ordered "hot" and there were tears in my eyes by the third bite. No regrets, but they don't joke around with that spice level.
Also got crab rangoons. They were a little too dry by themselves, but the chili plum sauce was perfect.
Since it was near closing, I ordered for pickup. They seemed really nice and friendly though, the place looked clean and like a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal.
It's a travesty that this place doesn't have a 5 star rating.
I was hired to take few pictures of some of this restaurant's dishes. I was also able to consume the delightfully tasty pad prik, tom yum and tom kah gai soups and their popular pad thai. My taste buds were very happy! The currie sauces and spices were perfect!
Compliments to head cook Eduardo. I see why this place is so busy during Covid. Very authentic and great value too. I recommend fo shizz
I absolutely love everything about this place. This is some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The Tom kha gai is ridiculously good (it’s a soup) and it’s always served SCORCHING hot I mean you can’t even touch it to your lips, it’s absolutely amazing (I love my soup as hot as possible). Pad Thai is incredible and the curry dishes are great (get the kao soi!)
The staff are courteous and friendly. However, that's the only positive thing I could say about this restaurant. My prior order was of pad tai(noodle dish) and seafood combo. That is my usual order each and every time I order from here. I was very disappointed at the portion last time and today as well. I wanted to give then one more try. The seafood combo is $12.99 for their dinner portion. I received little vegetables and very little seafood: 4 shrimp, 2 small scallops, 3 small squid rings. It was mostly the sauce which looks more like soup since that's all I got. I've called the restaurant back but they did not resolve the issue but apologized explaining there's nothing they could do since it's the issue with high seafood prices. I've ordered from other Thai restaurants and they give much better portions. I don't mind the cost as long as you get what you paid for. I'm disappointed once again and will not be returning back to this restaurant.
The food taste isn't bad. It's average Thai food rating in terms of taste and service. Some entrees may be served in better proportions, however, be aware when ordering seafood combo. I've added a photo for anyone considering ordering from here.

Soupy and salty. The old restaurant was amazing. Sorry to say I will not be back. Can’t eat it. Two bites and in the garbage.
Pad thai
L
Noodles overcooked, ordered mild and was super spicy, was LOADED with salt. Will never order from here again
I don't know why people lie for this place disgusting!!!!
Just good food, man.

It's kind of small, but the staff is so helpful and kind that you don't even notice. I can't remember the name of the noodle bowl I got It was #24 on the menue and I know I'll be ordering it again!
Always great food.

Best Thai around. Amazing chicken panang curry (House special one)
Extremely small portions without much protein. Paid extra for more vegetables and got like 3 tiny pieces of broccoli. Spent over $40 and will barely be able to feel two people. Will never come here again. Not worth the price.

Amazing pineapple fried rice!!
Best food ever
The Food was great and prices were reasonable. The Service was great. We got our food right away and they checked on us often! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Food wasn’t that good at all
Horrible experience. If I could rate 0 starz I would. The lady on the phone had absolutely no idea how to take our order then repeatedly told us they didnt have padlahdnah, when they do. Then consistently got our order wrong to the point where it took over 10 minutes for her to get 4 dishes correct. THEN she said she didnt know how to put them into the system to ring them up.... WHY IS SHE ANSWERING THE PHONE?!?!?! I WILL NEVER BE BACK.
I've eaten at this restaurant over the last 6 years, on and off. The food is never bad, but it always leaves a little something to be desired. For example, I think their curries in general are a little on the rich side, using more coconut milk than I generally prefer. I like my curry to have more vegetables than sauce. The Thai Ice tea was very small too and no refills.
I usually order veggie curry and veggie Pad Thai. My boyfriend and I dined in last time for dinner. The waitress was polite and got the order details right with a complicated order and substitutions, so great job on service. My fiancé ordered a fried rice with chicken and said that he enjoyed it. He likes Thai Food on the heavier, creamier side...
Overall, the experience was good. In the past, though, their portion size used to be bigger. I wouldn't mind paying a little bit more and having a dinner sized order that I could take home and have it last 3-4 meals. I would definitely order carry out from them more often if that was the case.
Good food most of the time.
They are very nice people
Ordered food from here drunken noodles and came with legit two pieces of meat what the heck that’s not worth the price and very disappointing
This has been our go to Thai restaurant for decades! We moved out of state for several years and this would be on the list of places to visit when we were in town. They stay busy and we often have a 40 minute wait for takeaway orders but to us that's a testament to how great the food is if they're staying that busy just plan ahead and it's always been worth the wait!
Love their pad see euw!
Little quantity for the price recently
Made the food the way we wanted
My wife loves the vegetable pad Thai and fried rice. I like them both too, but normally order their pho! Soo good! The staff is very friendly there as well! Great quality and portions!
Tried Gang Gai for the first time. It was delicious, though portion size was disappointing.
Best Thai food around!
We love this place and come 2-3 times a month. We love the F3 Basil fried rice
The basil fried rice might be the best I have ever had, and I love fried rice!
This use to be my FAVORITE Thai restaurant growing up and when it was called Hot Pepper Thai. They made incredible, to die for food here. I loved it! Came here with my family like once a month. But it recently went under new ownership a few years back and it's called Kk Pepper Thai now. I went there a few times after that but it was just not the same. Food tasted the same but portions starting getting smaller and smaller. I stopped going there for quite a while but decided to give them one more chance after craving it for a while and........same issue. Portions were so small. Not even worth the price now. Super disappointed. Probably wouldn't order again from here in the future unless they decide to fix their portions.
Some of the best food I've ever had. Definitely worth the trip.
It is beyond irritating when a resturaunt says there open and they're actually not. This place is notorious for it. Walked in for an order to go( never seen a meal take longer than 10 minutes to be ready - EVER), at 8:35 PM , website says 9PM. The girl asked me how she could help me immediately when I walked in just to tell me they were closed after I asked for a menu. Instead of keeping the "open" light on & advertising 9PM on Google, maybe provide accurate information & effort to the customers.
Best pad tai in town
the Gang Gai and Drunken Noodle are 2 of my favorites. always great food.
Average Thai. Somewhat salty or to sweet. Excelled prices for lunch with medium amount.
Took a dish back and they were nice enough to replace it yet the next dish was tooo sweet sorry to say.
I have been there twice this week! The Pineapple Curry is amazing, I can't wait to try their other dishes! I do wish they woukd use a better container for the food, spills happen.
My goodness!!!!!! Can i tell you this place is so dang good, it’s slap ya momma good!!! Like what the heck!!! I normally go to Prime Thai, but now i will be going here from now on.
Phenomenal kow pad. I never order anything else because it hits consistently every time I get it.
Best Drunken Noodles in town!!!! Hands Down 🤙🤙🤙and the Fried Rice is bangin!!! To many options to list!!! MUST CHECKOUT!!!
The house special number one Panang is fantastic. The price is good. This is our new go to place. We drive further just to get their food.
I ordered no spice on a dish that said “prepared mild” . I have severe acid reflux.I’ve gotten food here before with no issue. I paid $30 for something I could not eat this time and will have to miss work tomorrow. Had to throw away. My patenter tried it who prefers very hot food and said it was even too spicy for him. Really excited to be up the rest of the night in pain for taking one bite. If you say no spice then it should mean NO SPICE. Especially for people with a medical condition. Won’t be coming here again
Had heard that this is the best Thai place around, and word on the street did not disappoint.

The food is very good. Flavorful and we'll prepared. Will continue to order there.
I ordered a door dash. Sat on hold for 10 minutes with the restaurant to get soy sauce on the side. Still didn't get it. If people call you should write it down. Food regardless is always good.
Great food and friendly service. My dad is 90 and know his name. Really kind people.
I’ve been there multiple times and Everytime I pay for extra vegetables and I never received them. I called up there finally after having enough and driving home 15 minutes just for them to tell me to bring it back up or no refund on the veggies.. also there food is always soupy.. Save your money on this place and go to so Thai it’s definitely 100x better in every way and they make sure to add what you pay for and go beyond on correcting anything that they have made wrong.
Went for lunch. Everything was very good, hit and big portions. Are inside. Just ok inside. Service was great
Had to have both dishes remade one over done other tastes like salt get the new dishes back they are overly spicy then we could hear them talking about us , did not like the soup so asked for a different then still charged us for both and could not take it off , be aware that they will not let you know that they will just charge you and have an attitude all because they messed up
Great food always!
Drunkin Seafood Noodles are the best in town. Always a treat in every bite.
My order was quick and accurate. The quality of my food was pretty disappointing though.
We live in Milford and this is our favorite Thai restaurant! Our favorite dish is pah nang with seafood. Also, their fried rice is to die for!!!
Dude! Wheres the KHA?! I've never eaten here so I'll say that first.
However, when I'm sick I usually want Tom Kha Gai.
I called and asked about Galangal in the soup to make sure it was present before I ordered it.
For those that don't know... if you have a head cold or body aches or both, Tom ka Gai is the recipe for feeling good! But the person that answered didn't even know what Galangal is! He kept asking me what I was saying so I spelled it and he said..."no our Tom kha gai doesn't have Galangal..."
Well then , it's Not Tom Ka Gai!
Just so those that don't know can see what I'm talking about, here's a explanation of the language and the Soup done right:
Tom Kha Gai translates to Chicken Soup with Galangal. Tom means SOUP, Kha means GALANGAL and Gai means Chicken. Here, Galangal root is the star of the dish.
Amazing food, some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had, always so good, great appetizers and entrees, 10/10!!!!
Best flavor rice and ingredients love the diff lvls of spicy 🥵🥵🥵😁😁💪 can eat here everyday
So good I actually finished it and it’s healthy and good service, and very calm
Always good, always consistent! Pad Thai was great.
Not good for me. My niece received someone else's order.
Delicious food always filling though I ask for extra meat
Foods great. Unfortunately almost every time I place a to go order something is missing. Always go back because the food is so good but after what has to be the 10th time of missing something from my order I will take my business elsewhere.
The staff are courteous and friendly. However, that's the only positive thing I could say about this restaurant. My prior order was of pad tai(noodle dish) and seafood combo. Overall one of the best Thai places in the area. The fried rice is usually my go to, but everything else I have tried has been excellent also. Can’t go wrong with anything here.
Great to have a lunch option for Thai on a Monday within a 15-mile radius. This place gets busy early-on Monday but the waitress and cooks are fast and on-point.
Delicious food. Nice, clean, and friendly restaurant. Cheap too!
I really enjoy this place but buyer beware, you MUST order extra meat to get a regular amount. Otherwise you will get 1 or 2 pieces. This is true with all their dishes.
KK Pepper Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant. The food is always good and lately the spice has been spicy lol. My favs are #22 #23 #24, the pineapple fried rice, and their spring rolls.
This is a hidden gem in Waterford. I highly recommend the Garlic and Black Pepper with Chicken with a little extra fries garlic on top (YUM!). My wife and son love the Pad Thai. We try the Almond Chicken, but this is not the Chinese version. It was good, but a little confused. Highly recommend this place.
So sad what has become of the former Hot Pepper Thai...Yesterday I called at 1:20 pm to order lunch; 2 calls went unanswered so I ordered online pickup. It defaults to Doordash. I ordered and paid, then got a text saying it would be 1 to 1-1/2 hrs until my lunch order was ready!! I called & this time they answered, I asked them to cancel because I don't want to wait 1hr30 min for lunch. The girl said they can't cancel, try Doordash. No luck on Doordash, and hour later I show up to get my lunch, only to be told that they didn't make it because they thought I might cancel. WOW- this was my favorite place, but no more. TRUST THE RECENT REVIEWS, GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!
This is definitely the best Thai restaurant around the Waterford area. I ordered both the Gang Gai and green curry and I am shocked because I ordered the same thing from a different place. I'd recommend the red curry here for sure. Good amount of salt and has a good amount of curry to coconut ratio. Not many places get this right, and I'm very happy with this. Picture isn't elegant, but the taste is great. It's much cheaper than alternatives as well - $12 for the dish.
Great food, prices are a bit much for dinners however you do get quite a bit of food. Have enjoyed every meal so far. Very tasty!
Top 3 best places for Thai food that I’ve ever had! So delicious!
I moved to Florida recently away from Michigan... I've contemplated a couple times getting a flight back to Michigan just to have their pad thai again. Can't find anything even remotely close.
If you're in the area and want Thai food, this is the place to go. It's well worth any wait.
This is coming from someone who has very possibly tried every Thai food restaurant in the Detroit Metro area and now I've tried eight Thai food places in Jacksonville.
Great Thai food and friendly service.
Best thai food in the area... love it
The food was very good. Loved the atmosphere and service.
Every bite of vegetables is a mouthful of floral soap
This is my favorite Thai place! Amazing flavor
Favorite Thai place around!
Utter trash! Waste of money. If you like soup this is the place for you. Ever dish was more sauce then veggies or meat. Ordered one dish with tofu got maybe 5 pieces of tofu. Fried rice tasted burnt and was hard. Salt, everything was super salty. Throw it away did not even finish and what we did eat is making us nauseous.
Great food. Small portions.
never order to go from here. they give you less than a “lunch” portion when you order dinner togo. beyond disappointed.
I ordered two meals and two spring rolls and only got one meal and two spring rolls. The girl most have been deft. But I’m not waiting 25 for your mistake. Will not be back.
You can eat in but mostly a carry out place. Best Thai food in waterford.
The food here is amazing and whenever I am in town I have to get the Chicken Pad Thai. They are the absolute best.
Absolutely delicious and very good service. Tom kha gai soup is spectacular!
I like this restaurant. Used to be hot pepper Thai. Hot pepper moved to clarkston and these folk took this over. Food is good servicecis fast prices are reasonable.
Mmmmmm....yummmmmmo!
Thom ka soup was incredible! So fresh and full of flavor - drunken noodles medium spice was fantastic - ans sweet and sour shrimp was so flavorful!! I totally loved the food and they have quite the carry out business going - we dined in and honestly I wished I lived closer, luckily my boyfriend didn't live too far - I'm sure we'll be back! YaY!
Best Thai food I've ever had, and I've had a lot of different Thai food. I have 3 Thai places closer to me but I'd rather go out of my way for KK, it's worth it
Their pad prik is phenomenal.
Best pho around
The best fried rice
Called an HOUR before closing to place an order and was told they weren’t taking orders. Very disappointing.
Smells amazing as soon as you walk in and friendly staff makes you feel welcomed. Great place!
Long time customer. Food is great. Wait can be long. Serving size is half of what it used to be. Ordered Pad Prik a couple weeks ago and the carton was only half full, mostly vegetables, very little chicken. Consistently get less food. Sadly, I will be finding a new Thai restaurant.
The Best Chicken Satay you will ever eat!
Get the Pho if you aren’t feeling like Thai food and get the Thai iced tea for a refreshing sweet getaway.
I love ordering all kinds of meals from kk pepper thai. Food taste fresh and spicy🌶. If I could eat here once a week I would!
Update 8/12/22 I literally cannot enjoy pad Thai anywhere else, totally addicted.
#19 Fried rice and #20 Pad Thai are my favorite menu items. Always busy on Friday when I order, about 1 hour wait for order but worth it!
Cannot stress how good and consistent this place is
Quick and easy and super tasty
We used to love this place when it was hot pepper Thai , when KK Thai opend everything seemed like it didn't change, everything was still great, until now. Me and my family ordered three Pad Thai chicken dinners, when I got home with our dinners open the boxes it look like the noodles were just mush it was no substance to it was like soup. I called there and ask for the manager but I never got the speak to one. I told the guy that answered the phone that my noodles were way over cooked so he asked the cooks if that's the way the noodles are supposed to be, The Cook's replied back to him that's the way the noodles are supposed to be. We weren't born yesterday I've never seen noodles like this ever. We will no longer be dining at KK Thai just for the fact that we didn't get a sorry, or will replace it. It seems to me that KK Thai doesn't have any customer service knowledge. There's plenty of other Thai restaurants around
Great local spot!
6/11/22 ordered 4 orders of kow pad. I waited 25 minutes and noticed once i got home that all 4 orders were wrong. 3 out of the 4 of us got sick from the food. The 4th person didn't because they only ate a couple of bites because it was too spicy.
Their menu is more diverse than a lot of others Thai restaurants in the area. We picked it for it's variety. They use a good spice and everything we've had was delicious.
This place surprised me. Good stuff
Great food! Can’t get enough of the Thai tea ! 🥰🥰 and spring rolls
This our go-to Thai spot that never ceases to amaze! It's hard not to order the curry noodles every time, but I've yet to order a dish that was less than delicious.
The food was AMAZING!! omg I haven't had that good of Thai food since I was a kid ❤ I'm going to become a regular.
Best Thai food in the world
Great Thai restaurant in Waterford!
Our new favorite Thai Restaurant! We love going out to eat here or doing carry out when we are in a time crunch. They use fresh ingredients & the food tastes amazing, the service is incredible and they always get our food to us in a timely manner. LOVE THIS PLACE!!
The Pad Pak with shrimp or seafood is out of this world!
Best Thai place around
Outstanding food & service as always. If you haven't been here, you must try some of the best Thai around. Food is always hot & consistent.
With lots of Thai places to choose from in our area, sometimes we mix it up. Today, we choose this place. It's always consistent with taste, heat and portion size. We love it, really.
I’ll just start with my reason for leaving the review, and that is due to exceptional dedication to hygiene. It was so great to see and the opposite of what I notice with most establishments. A cook came out of the restroom shaking water off his hands and proceeded to wash his hands a second time in the kitchen before putting his apron on. This was so nice to see and makes me feel even better about eating here! It caused an extra star bump up. 🙂 As for the food, they have my favorite red curry sauce. Last time it was way too spicy (ordered mild), but still enjoyable. I find their Pad Thai to be very inconsistent. One time it was incredible, but often it’s rather bland on flavor and the noodles are often mushy and overcooked.
I love the food here! All of the dishes are amazing, very well seasoned. The staff is so kind and the restaurant is clean. I come out of my way to get their food here it's that good.
Not dry like a lot of other Thai restaurants.
Our favorite Thai restaurant.
Went in and ordered the beef larb, got home excited to eat and to my dismay, there is a mountain of tomatoes and some sliced beef with lettuce in some soup. 1 this is not larb. Larb is minced protein, chilies, vegetables, and herbs typicallyservedwithleaf lettuce. 2 when I called to complain I was told "all of our salads have tomato" and "the best we can do is a discount next time. WHY IS TOMATO LISTED ON OTHER SALADS! WHY NOT LIST IT ON ALL OF THEM IF ALL OF THEM HAVE IT!!!! never going back or recommending anyone to go here.
Always a good meal!
I ordered the lunch menu chicken Pad Thai. Very tasty and made actually hot like I wanted, but portion size was lacking, good 1/5th of my meal was just uncooked bean sprouts. All in all however, still enjoyable.
Amazing food, always top notch!
We tried KK Pepper pad Thai and several other lunch entrees. They all tasted good. We bought four lunches and spent $25. The price is reasonable. If you order mild spiciness, you will still get a good sting in your mouth.we will definitely go back.
Had the drunken noodles dinner style chicken they gave me scramble eggs that wasn't even broken down a 1 spoon of chicken so what's the lunch half spoon of chicken.
Every single time I place an order here it is never right..100% wrong 100% of the time!
We got mild on four different dishes but the spicy level was all over the place. Pad Thai was extremely hot. Everything was crazy salty too. I also found a hair in my food. Wasn’t the best experience. But besides the saltiness, the food did taste good. I thought the portions were on the small end as well. Maybe I’ll give it another try in the future.
