Little restaurant in between little ceasers and jimmy johns
Use to be a great spot now unfortunately it has gone down hill. Ordered takeout they barely put any curry sauce on my order the rice was still white and there was suppose to be chicken there was only one small piece in the container… when called about the lack of sauce and chicken they said the rice soaked it up that’s why there is not much sauce and did not give me an answer for the little amount of chicken. They did not offer to give more sauce or replace my order. Go somewhere else this is a waste of money.
The service was fantastic, and the menu had great options. The Thai noodle soup was abundant and flavorful. The shrimp rolls were delicious and, in my opinion, better than the crab rangoons. Be sure to ask for spice, as the dishes are made without it by default. Overall, it was a good dining experience.
Thai Cafe continues to have the best pad thai in TC hands down. The spring rolls are incredible, and I just tried the potstickers & the crab rangoons today. They were both incredible as well. I don’t live in the area anymore, but I make a point to get food here when I come home!!! The chef/chefs need to teach other Asian restaurants how to make Pad Thai in my opinion.
My son and I found this the other day, we don’t live in TC but we don’t live far. This will be our new go to Thai place! The food was absolutely delicious! Spice was just right, crab wagons are amazing! Not a lot of room to dine in, mostly take out place but we did sit and eat our food there.
The staff was super friendly, but the food was sub par. It tasted so old. We arrived right when the staff just finished bagging our to-go order, so it's not like it sat there forever waiting for pickup. We definitely won't be returning customers.
Very disappointed. I have had take out from here a number of times and always enjoyed the food. Last night was different. 2/3rds of the meal was rice. The rest was the curry. Salty, very little meat and the vegetables were tough. Do better Thai Cafe if you want to stay in business in this town.

Best Thai in northern mi

The Pho & Pad Se-ew were on point today. Received very nice portion sizes this time. Still the only worth while Thai in town.
My favorite Thai cafe! I absolutely love their stir fries.
First time in. My partner and I got take out. The staff was wonderful. The food exceeded expectations. Full of flavor. The spice was right on. Definitely will be back.
The food here is always great and the staff are very friendly. I love coming here as well as ordering out.

Will drive 2 hours out of my way to come here. Great food.

Great food and big portions!
Was very delicious and fresh! Reminded me of my mother's cooking! The restaurant is clean! The staff is friendly, courteous and attentive! Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys thai food.
Pineapple rice was really good.

Came here with a group of 21. They accomadated all of us perfectly. Went above and beyond with taking care of each of us individually. Thank you for the amazing customer service! The Thai fried rice was also very rich with flavor!!
Went above and beyond to accommodate our big party. Food was very tasty as well. Actually spicy.
Our order was carelessly prepared and our potstickers were missing. There wasn’t enough rice for the amount of curry we ordered, and everything smelled like cheap fry oil.
Everyone is so friendly and the food is awesome and the kitchen is super fast!
You should see their new artwork! Great atmosphere 😃
Some of the best Thai food ive had. Fantastic random hole in the wall to randomly pick.
The food is “okay”. It’s not bad for a small town, but if you’ve had Thai food in a community with a larger Thai presence, then you will likely be disappointed.
Small shop so I understand there can be wait. We pulled two tables and chairs together ourselves. We weren’t given any napkins or silverware.
The worst part is the quantity of their dishes. One dish is not enough for one person. This is contrary to any other Thai place I’ve ever been to. Their food tastes great but their portions are lunch size.
Gave Thai Café a try recently and while I wasn't totally turned off, I was very disappointed. Normally, my partner and I would cook Thai at home, but both of us have been feeling under the weather and thought we'd try a new restaurant.
We ordered Pad Thai and Peanut Curry Pad Thai as our main dishes with a a couple appetizers. We added some extra chicken and peanuts as we all know too well that shrinkflation is a factor in every restaurant these days. One dish was ordered extra spicy and the other one mild.
The first problem was that they reversed the spiciness. So that made it impossible for my partner to eat what she ordered.
Secondly, the spiciness may not have mattered since both dishes looked identical. Which needs to be said that this is not a good Pad Thai recipe in general. Both "versions" lacked substance, and were basically chicken, a small amount of carrots and onion tossed in a ton of noodles and cream sauce. And the added cost of extra chicken and extra peanuts were not justified in the prices.
Which is the final problem. We paid nearly $60 for 2 dishes and two apps, that if it was good, would have been worth it. But these dishes were clearly made for American palettes with little to no expectations of quality ingredients. I shouldn't expect much from a local restaurant like this, but the cost was WAY too steep for what you get. Even the money spent on peanuts were laughable. Ordering extra meant maybe half a teaspoon, but literally paid for an entire bottle of nuts with additional profit for the owners. We even looked it up.
All in all, the food was edible as a grab and go lunch, if the prices were justified. However, I would give ANYTHING to have reliable proper Asian and Asian-American food cooked with pride that represented the culture. So tired of this white bread food and being charged double its worth. Sad when we can do twice as good as this at home and pay less than half the price. Which once again, will have to be the case going forward as we can't justify the value of going back.
Food is delicious and the portions are definitely spot on. Service was a bit odd. Waitresses should not wear velcro sandals (especially without socks that was gross). Street clothes for servers 😑 it needs music to drown out the sound of the cooking and conversations going on in back. I definitely will eat here again but not dine in. Many restaurants in this town for competition.
Yum. I love their food. The service is always great!
Very fast, friendly service. The food was quite good. The dining area is simple and fairly small and filled up quickly with the noon rush; obviously a popular place. I'm looking forward to going back!
Best Thai food we have had! You can taste the love in the recipes lol amazing cook! It was a gem we stumbled on passing through town. Can't wait to go again
Was leary about grabbing Thai food in TC and I'm glad I did. Chicken Larb, summer rolls, and cucumber salad are exceptional quality and taste. Thank you
There aren't many Asian restaurants in TC, but this is probably the best. Prompt takeout and friendly staff.
Might be my favorite place for Thai food in TC. Red Curry Fried Rice is excellent but have never had anything I didn’t love.
Fantastic yellow curry pad Thai
Food is fresh, delicious, everything i have tried is great! Dinner portions are generous.
Family ran and owned, great food. Warm and friendly atmosphere
I love their soup,..
Great people and great food! I would spend my money with these guys 10 times out of 10 over other local restaurants. Ownership is phenomenal
Have been trying several Chinese/Thai places in TC and this will be my first choice destination. Pad see ew is delicious with options to customize your spice level beyond most places in the area. service is quick and friendly
Favorite place in tc :)
Curry was bland and like soup. Good luck finding any chicken. My bill was $50. Everydish was way too sweet. Lab salad was only saving grace.
Food: mediocre small portions at dinner time. Dairy milk in all curries is unusual and tastes weird.
Service: Friendly but not good. Wasn't asked how spicy we wanted anything. Had to ask for everything by flagging them down.
Decor is cute. Bathroom is clean. Halloween decor shouldn't still be up a week after the holiday.
This place is ok if you're craving Thai and the other one in town is closed.
The food is good, affordable, and fast.
Really isn't much else to say beyond that.
Had the Massoman Currrry ...it was 🔥🎸🎸🎸🎸🔥
Very nice little cafe excellent food
Pad Thai hardly any chicken. Rangoon tasted like it came from freezer. Mongolian beef. All onions. Hardly any beef. I would recommend going elsewhere.
Called in an order at 5:15pm, was told 25 minutes. Walked in at 5:45pm, was asked for who and gave my name, twice. Then was asked if I was there for a door dash. Wasn't ready until minutes before 6. Seemed like they were more interested in making their money from dd, no longer from me. I'll dine elsewhere. One and done.
Very small place with amazing food. There are a lot of options, and I very much wish I lived nearby so I could try many more.
We ordered two entrees medium spice level. We like a little heat. I took one bite and my lips are burning 10 min later. We called to tell them it was inedible and they couldn't care less. We thought the food was mediocre the first time we ordered, but there are not many options for Thai in TC.
We eat have eaten Thai enought to know a mistake in the kitchen. Mistakes happen but apathetic customer service is unforgivable. Go elsewhere.
We're visiting from San Antonio and had great dinner here last night. Had the "Drunken" Noodles and highly recommended thank you!
Pad Thai was extremely boring, no flavor or spice. Rubbery noodles and greasy.
If you're looking for authentic Thai food this is not the place.
Consistent execution of menu over and over. Great service and very welcoming. I would give it 4.5 if I could here. Can never be a 5 for me if location is in shopping mall. Just saying.
OMG…didn’t expect this in TC. The flavor, spiciness, and ingredients are all wonderful. My wife had the peanut curry while I chose my fav massaman curry…both ordered as extra hot spice level. When we tasted the food…yes, it was really, really spicy! Love that they listened to us and didn’t think we were weak (haha!). Everyone was super friendly and just the right amount of attentiveness.
The pad Thai, it’s amazing to start with! I am sorry to say I have never tried this restaurant until it was at the cherry festival here in Traverse City, MI. The staff was amazing and answered all my lquestions about the dishes they were serving. The food is beyond fantastic! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. What a pleasant experience with the staff!
I have been eating at this restaurant for ages and I still love it. The chicken pad thai is my go to but everything I’ve tried has been so tasty! I was worried when the new owners came took over in ‘21 but they have done an amazing job at expanding the menu and keeping thing fresh without sacrificing quality or consistency. I recommend getting takeout and picnicking at the park!
A bit pricey but there FR5 is awesome!
Stopped by to try something new !!! Once inside I was unsure of what I wanted but owner was more than helpful and let me try a few new things and was helpful about others , before my final choice was made. I was so impressed with the flavors and portions. I will definitely be back. Friends that were with me also enjoyed friendly service and great food. We all left with food for later at the hotel. 5 stars a must try !!!
I love that this a family owned and ran business. The service is great and super friendly. Food is AMAZING!!! We tried so many things and loved them all. If your in town, give this wonderful place a try!!! You won’t regret it.
I have had the regular pad thai and the peanut curry pad thai, both of which were a bit lacking. The flavor is good, especially when you order it with medium spice, but there is almost no sauce, so it's like eating dry noodles and veggies. Thai Kitchen's peanut curry pad thai is much better in my opinion. That being said, the staff was very nice and my orders have been out timely.
I come here relatively frequently and can’t say enough good things about it. Friendliest staff who do incredible even on busy days. Food is amazing. One of my favorite places in Traverse city, absolutely a business I feel wonderful supporting.
Food was not even lukewarm when served. Over-priced for the amount of food on my entree. Why do Asian restaurants never include a knife with their silverware platform? I will not make a return visit.
The food is wonderful and I've never been disappointed!
Had the pad ke now and panang curry. Best curry I have had in Michigan!
If you want soy sauce and fortune cookies go somewhere else. Also the food is garbage. I'd recommend panda north there the best
Always awesome. FR5 or peanut curry pad Thai is the best.
It's mediocre, I feel like I can get better Thai food by making it at home
The sesame chicken slaps harder than my ex girlfriend.
I will never order from here again. The crab Rangoon had no filling was rubbery. The rice was cold . The magnolian beef was such a small portion. For over $30 ... Never again
The food is always delicious, cheep price. Amazing service. I always recommend this place.
Great Thai food! Friendly service and nice staff.
I hate giving bad reviews but the food just isn't good. The red curry with noodles was so stuck together it was just unappetizing. The taste is off also. Tried this twice just to see if we just didn't choose right meals but all 4 meals were just not good.
Always on the top of our list of favorite places to eat in Traverse City. Small place tucked in a strip mall. Excellent Thai food...
Soooo good! We had the potstickers to start and they were awesome! Then came lunch! My Thai Boat Noodle soup was AMAZING! Filled me up. Will definitely be going back!
The Panang was so salty, to being inedible. Still, they did go out of their way to accommodate a vegetarian order.
We have been coming here since it first opened. It has gone through changes, but the last change in ownership has been great. It is so much cleaner & the food is consistent & delicious, with generous portions. The Gang Ped is my favorite, but our family loves everything we’ve had. The spice level is serious & you can always ask for a side of the yummy chili oil to spice it up.
I enjoy Thai and Chinese food, so I fully expected to like it. But, for some reason, I still left pleasantly surprised. Great food at fair prices.
My new favorite restaurant in TC.
See you again come Iceman weekend!
Best Thai in town, without question. Used to be hit or miss, but since the new ownership took over it's perfect every time. Great flavor, generous portions and nice staff. Dine in if you can get a table, otherwise the takeout is easy and usually not too long of a wait.
Food was amazing, great staff and environment
food was amazing
We had a great meal. Food was delivered quickly and there was plenty. Delicious!!
Lovely service. Friendly staff. Worst Thai food ever. Too sweet. Way too sweet and too much creme. Spices were all wrong. Not remotely Thai. Fattening. No savory taste. Pitifully disappointed. Not heart healthy.
Great food and amazing service! It's one of our favorite places in town! I love the smaller lunch portions and reasonable prices.
Food was served quick. But for that price amount of food served was very little. And make sure you don’t order any refreshment drink with Boba thinking it will be like usual Boba milk you get it outside. Its just of flavored sweet water with little Boba. Prices are high though. Not worth for what has been served. At least for Boba refreshment.
While the food was amazing, what really made our experience great was our absolutely wonderful server, Miaya. She is kind, accommodating, and so helpful! Will definitely come again!
By far my favorite Thai. Such a good blend of flavor and spices. Wish I lived closer or they expano so I could get it more often!
Very nice owner and friendly stuff. Great food. Recommend food for Thai tastes.
Absolutely love this place.
Great food for a good price. Never a disappointment. Owners and family are great people who take pride in what they do, and it shows in their service and food.
The flavors are as close as one can get without actually going to Thailand.
I would give 10⭐️ if I could.
It's a very small place. With limited options. But food was good. Service okay
The flavor was good. This was my first time eating here. I had the Mongolian beef and my boyfriend had chicken Bangkok. Disappointed that I could not pay extra and get fried rice. He had 3 peices of chicken and it appeared I ordered Mongolian onions because there was barely any meat. Just a pile of flavored onions and dry rice. Service was super friendly
I was apprehensive about coming here with friends, since I'm not actually a fan of thai food so I wasn't sure I'd find anything I'd like. But they had Chinese food, and the sweet and sour chicken was honestly some of the best I've ever had! It was the perfect portion and the sauce was delicious. Very good prices too and the service was sweet. Definitely want to come back while I'm in town!
Great food and service
If you are looking for Thai food, this is the place. Be careful when asking for spicy, they know how to make it real hot for you. My go to is the G6 with chicken. I've had the same thing many many times and it's always been delicious.
Best authentic Thai food. I always have to make a stop here whenever I’m in TC visiting! Can’t go wrong with any dish, but the shrimp egg rolls are a must try!
It's definitely got worse. It was alright a couple years ago and now it's just disappointing. The flavors just aren't there. California native so I have high standards. Staff is nice and the food takes a while.
Went in for the first time today, couldn't be happier with what I got! I ordered Pad See Ew with tofu and it was amazing! Normally I'm not a fan of tofu but decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did, it was crispy and soaked with their delicious sauce! I was initially hoping to get a bigger portion for the price, but it was surprisingly filling and well worth what I paid! I also got a Thai iced coffee-also amazing! The staff was so friendly and quick, I'll definitely be back again!
The best Thai Food in Town! Fresh and authentic ingredients with superior flavor! 💜👏🏾
This was the best pho I’ve ever had, it even beats my mom’s homemade pho. It’s un-pho-gettable. The sauces are delightful, delicious flavor with a kick of spice. New management have really turned this place around and the staff here is the best! Very friendly. They’ll definitely get my business again.
I eat here probably too much :) but my order is always fresh, delicious and the way I like it. Some of the best Thai food anywhere.
I used to love this place but it has changed so much in the past several years that my favorite dish is not even recognizable by sight or taste.
First time here yesterday, so as I walked in the door I was hit with a delicious smell, and super friendly workers. I tried a watermelon drink with boba and a Thai Tea, both were so good, I was very impressed. The dinning room was immaculate and the decor was cute. I can't wait to come back for the food! Very impressed.
Highly recommend! The food was fantastic!
Thai Cafe makes delicious, fresh food—fast! They are so accommodating and I have always enjoyed everything that they have made for me. From their peanut pad Thai to their spring rolls, everything is perfect!
The new owners have really cleaned up the place, and the food was great! Staff was super friendly. I'm so glad to see them have a bustling take out business, too.
Immediately regretted it, gave me food poisoning.
Fantastic, authentic Thai food. Pleasant funny help. We had pad Thai, curry pad Thai, and shrimp cashew stir fry. Egg drop soup and pot stickers. Fair prices. Our new favorite TC restaurant.
New owner is super friendly & awesome!!! Been a favorite for almost 4 years!!!
The new owner is so sweet and the food is delicious! The Pad Thai is my absolute favorite and there is something for everyone in my family. Great for takeout and some tables for dine in. Stop by and enjoy!
The best Thai food in town! We get takeout from here all the time. Highly recommended!
My husband and I were in town visiting for a dear friend's wedding. We love Pho, so he called to see if they were open for dinner. We came in and had the summer rolls, Pho, and Pad Thai with a Thai Tea. DELICIOUS!!! Our server was a sweetheart, and very attentive. The food was ready extremely fast. The owner came out herself to check on us as well multiple times!! She is a lovely person! If you are in the Traverse City, MI area, swing by and get some food from the Thai Café.
Love the variety. I love their curry, son loves their sesame chicken and my wife can get pho. Hard to have this kind of variety and it's all delicious!
Good Food. You get Thai Tea with Bobba. Clean Restrooms.
I had been craving Chicken Pad Thai and figured I would give this place a shot. I ordered in medium. I took a few bites and couldn’t even eat it. When I say hot- I mean hot. No flavor, just spice. I’m disappointed because I read reviews prior to ordering. The staff member was friendly. The food was disappointing to say the least. I threw it away.
Food is great, particularly for a relatively remote area. Seating is very limited and indoor space is small. No outdoor seating of which I am aware, but great for a quick lunch or picking something up for home or to take and enjoy at a park.
Wow!! So very good! I was instantly transported back to, South East Asia, & Cambodia with this food. Love the spice.
Why have I not been to this fabulous restaurant!?
You have a new loyal customer!
Thanks for the sweet n sour sauce for my spring rolls. Only got to dip it once barely. Hope you saved enough money. Ordered here several times. I will never again.
Love how spicy you can get the food. They definitely don’t mess around when you ask for extremely spicy.
Great food, great service, and great people. Keep up the great work Thai Cafe.
Friendly staff, great food!!!
Super excited that new owners have taken over this place. The food was flavorful and the service was quick. Lots of takeout orders but dine-in also available. I would recommend sticking with the classic Thai dishes.
First time having it with the new owners. The Pho was excellent, highly recommend. Also it was wonderful to see they are on Door Dash now.
By far the best, most authentic Thai I’ve had since leaving Jax. The massaman and panang were excellent. The next time I’m in traverse city I’ll be sure to stop and enjoy.
Great food and service. The summer rolls are a work of art. Pad pak and pad kee maw were both very tasty. Great portions for the price also.
Great place to eat Thai foods.
Have been getting take out here for years, but the last few orders were better than ever ! Congrats to the new mgt for taking this place up a notch ! Wonderful food !
Would love to give 5 stars because they have some of my favorite food but for the 4th time now they have messed up our order - which this last time they denied happened when we literally order the same thing every time - and even when we ask for them to go easy on the heat they make it so hot we can't even eat it and I actually like spicy food.
Great Food!!!
Great food 😋 👌 I had 5 dishes and ate off my wife's plate too lol
Pad Thai was amazing so was the Thai tea. The waiters were wonderful and friendly, and the bathrooms were clean and smelled like a flower garden. A lot better then the usual Thai restaurant. I was so full I couldn't finish all of my food and had to pack it up for the next day!
Yay
Their food is made with love and dedication.
I always come here & I always get the peanut curry pad Thai. It’s soooo good and I love the fried rice. This is a good place to go if you’re not wanting to go out to a restaurant. Easy takeout
I am Thai and had trip to Michigan. I had dine-in ordered with disappointed on their taste. I had ordered Lettuce wrap, Tom Yum and Fried rice. Lettuce wrap so salty, Tom Yum have bamboo which it’s not supposed to. Fried rice also salty and wet. I and my BF are not even finish any food. I am not recommend this place.
I'd been here before and enjoyed the experience very much, hence my return with my husband.
The egg drop soup had very dark spots on the greens that were obviously not from overcooking as they were crunchy and barely cooked.
The waitress was absolutely the best part of the experience and the ONLY reason I'd return is to give that darling young woman another tip, because oh how she deserves it! She asked the cooks if certain items might be made gluten free for me to which they replied to her that they DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS IN IT and to just tell me no, yes...they had no idea what they were cooking. I heard her tell the cooks the rice didn't look right and she was concerned about it and I clearly heard them tell her that it was "good enough" and that they'd make more when she ran out.
So my lovely coconut curry with tomatoes and pineapple and peppers and chicken was served on crunchy rice and there was one piece of tomato and one small chunk of pineapple, although there were plenty of very crunchy peppers. Dissatisfied is the least of how I felt and my husband kept apologising to me as this was our first dining out experience after Covid 19 restrictions.
Again, our server was excellent and if I ran a restaurant (as I did in my early 30's) I'd hire her in a hot second. That was the only redeemable part of our lunch yesterday. The two Stars on this review are solely for her.
Pad Thai is a good choice, and everything else is on par with a good quality Asian take-out. The dine in experience is casual. Focus is on the food, not presentation.
I was very thrilled with the experience here. The cook and staff was amazin . Our foods were very good. The price is very fair. I was happy to order my soup. Everything went really well. Cant wait to go back.
I asked for no onions they put in so many onions, white, green. (-2 stars) bad taste. Threw it straight in the garbage, inedible. waste of money and time. (-1 star)
They were so nice and courteous. The food was awesome! We ordered the sesame chicken, chicken fried rice and wontons and I enjoyed every single bite! The sesame chicken was the most delicious texture. Not at all having hard chunks but 100% goodness. The rice was especially well done too. Super pleased.
Best
My favorite Thai food in Tc! Great food and fast service!
Some of the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. My massaman curry with beef was full of rotten potatoes and really chewy cheap beef. There was a room full of people waiting for service for take out and two girls working. The pad Thai was all noodles and no meat. Yuck. Not going back.
