Other than that, my food tasted wonderful. I had the peanut noodles and crab cheese rangoons. The flavor profile checked every box. And you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Super knowledgeable owners. Service was above and beyond. One of the owners is a waiter also and knows a lot of stuff about Thailand. He gave us an appetizer called Dragon Skin. It was fried chicken trimmings with a light, sweet sauce and was delicious.

We ordered spice level 4 but at that level of spice, even if you can handle it, it overpowers the taste of the food. Next time I would get and recommend spice level 3, regardless of how much spice you think you can handle.

We ordered various stir fry dishes, larb, and the cabbage wraps. If you order entrees, I believe you get a simple vegetable soup which is amazing. 10/10

Don't know what happened. The Red Curry has no flavor except for salt and the Pad Thai just tastes like soy sauce covered noodles. This used to be my favorite Thai restaurant too.

I am gutted. This was my favorite restaurant in the area but I won’t be returning. My Panang curry had no flavor and at a spice level 4, had zero heat. Potentially the worst Thai food I’ve had.

Hands down the best Thai place around. The owners are wonderful and always go well above and beyond in everything and just seem like fantastic humans.

My favorite is the Panang. Overwhelmingly flavorful. It may look pricey at first, but the portions are enormous. I get 3 good sized meals out of each order. You will not be disappointed. They do a great job dialing in the spice levels too weather you’re a spice head or not.

Definitely call ahead of time. Each dish is made to order and they are always slammed with orders, but it’s *well* worth the wait. 😁

I ordered the Thai Pad Basil. Portion was large, for me I got 3 meals out of it. Flavor was great. Staff friendly and helped me order with garlic allergy. Worth the drive.

We used to frequent all the area Thai places on rotation but Thai Nation is the best by far. High quality fresh ingredients, generous portions, friendly staff, just top notch all the way around

Been going here for years but unfortunately won't be going back. Spent $50 on two meals we could hardly eat yesterday and really sad because this used to be our favorite Thai place around. The Pad Thai had cilantro and carrots and tasted like straight salty soy sauce. The crab rangoon had huge onions and I couldn't even eat two because of how strong the onions were. My daughter's orange chicken was dry, salty. Portions and quality has gone down and prices have gone up. I REALLY wanted to support the new owners but can't waste money like that! Staff was friendly.

Food is phenomenal but service is SLOW. Maybe they are just busy constantly but sometimes they won’t even answer the phone until 2 or 3 calls later and when they do, their wait time is 45 mins to an hour.

Delicious curry! I love there Red Curry it taste very authentic <3 I could eat it all the time it’s just that good! Make sure before you drive though to call them to see if they pick up or listen to there voicemail of when there available. This place is awesome though! So delicious !

The food was very good and at first we though the prices were high but then saw how large the portions are. Each item seemed to be enough for 4 people. My only complaint would be that the pad thai and the thai fried rice was a little bland. Although i believe i should have just got the garlic fried rice instead.

We stumbled across this place randomly as we were passing through. The food was fantastic and the portions were huge. One of the proprietors shared a little bit of his story with us, which was quite interesting. Would highly recommend take out from here. Each entrée could easily feed 2!

The owners are so sweet. I actually ended up at the wrong restaurant and decided to try out the food and was pleasantly shocked on how good it was. And the crab Rangoon is in my top three! Just one meal and crab ragoons was enough for me to share with my family. So I’d say the price is reasonable. They make up for it with the portions they give.

Had received many good reviews concerning Thai Nation Bistro. Red Curry Rice with Vegetables, Fried Chicken Dumplings. Level 3. Absolutely grand.

I get take out from here every couple of weeks, and they have never disappointed. Incredible food, and such wonderful people who own this place! I absolutely look forward to coming here each and every time.

Really enjoyed the food. Just impossible to get ahold of them to ever order. I never go as far as to write reviews but hopefully they read it and realize they are loosing customers just from ignoring the phone. We used to order at least once a week. But over the past year or two we spend more time on hold or just hearing a phone ring than enjoying any food. At least the other local Thai shops accept our business and will take our calls. Great food but the worst service.

We drove 45 minutes to get to this restaurant because it said that it was open, but the door was locked when we arrived. Do yourself a favor and confirm whether or not they're open before going to this facility because this was a large waste of our time.

Unlike most Thai restaurants in Michigan, this actually is run by a genius Thai cook who uses fresh ingredients, makes food to order, and understands Northern Thai flavor.

Made to order means you might need to wait for your food a little bit longer, but you are always assured the food is fresh.

Vegan options are available. I had steamed tofu as my protein in my dishes. Absolutely delicious!

The family proprietors are delightful. They really do cook from the heart and make you feel welcome. Delightfully gracious. Such great vibes to visit there and enjoy the food they prepare with such pride.

This was our first time ordering from this location and it was very good. We ordered the dumplings, chicken pad Thai, and chicken mussamun curry all with heat level 1. I have to say that I'm a light weight with spice and one was perfect for me. This location definitely lived up to its hype and the order was ready in 25 minutes. The only things I noticed was the dumplings were cold and it doesn't come with a lot of rice for the curry but these were very minor. I have rice at home and a microwave so no worries!

After searching in vain for a great Thai experience in Genesee County, I've found it! As a former Oakland County resident, Thai food restaurants are everywhere......but I love my new home in Flint, so when a friend gave a great review of TNB, I rushed to check it out. My Chicken Pad Thai was amazing and the portions are generous, which makes a difference when you're on a fixed income.

Has been absolutely my favorite Thai food place to eat for the last couple of years. But I am extremely disappointed that they changed their rice and orange chicken dinner. I would get their orange chicken dinner spice level three at least two times a week and they changed it to fried rice in the same box with half the chicken and it’s just not even close to the same. Still good but not like it was. Please please please change it back

This place is amazing. I've had nothing but great experiences here. The staff is incredibly thoughtful and polite and just fun to talk to. The food is so very on point. I learned with this last visit that they are no longer serving curry (their chicken Penang is to die for so I'm sad). The reasoning behind this is due to the exorbitant increase in cost. They need our help and I'm happy to give them my return business. If you like Thai food, you have to check them out while helping a small, locally family owned establishment stay in business and hopefully keep them competitive. You won't be disappointed.

By far the best Thai restaurant in the area. Customer service alone makes this the only place I go to now. Last night my dinner didn’t look like what I usually get and without hesitation they fixed it and were very apologetic. I think the error was on my end but they went the extra mile to make sure I was happy.

Manee Thai is SO much better and you get way more for your money and it has an actual authentic taste instead of the weird sour flavor of the food while the soy sauce is sweet. Manee Thai is all homemade nothing frozen and less than half the price. It is SO MUCH better than this place and Thai nation is a complete rip off. Overcharged and horrible food and half the portion of other places with better prices, portions and food.

A sure sign of how popular this place is, is when you try to call in a takeout order and they're not answering the phone, so you go there to place an order and wait in your car. :) I was more than happy to do so, and I was rewarded with some of the best Thai food I've had since I moved from Hawaii. I ordered some Thai Dumplings and the Chicken Peanut Noodles....the dumplings were amazing and I could drink the sauce they serve them in...and the peanut noodles! They were exactly what I thought they would be, and they give you so much! I've got enough for 2 lunches for the coming week. Highly recommend!

Full transparency - this place and the owners have been a favorite of mine for over 4 years now.

Tonight we got the pineapple fried rice with chicken pan seared style. No onion. Spice lvl 3.

Chicken was crispy and seasoned well. Rice had a good chew. Cashews were golden brown and seared well. Pineapple was still juicy even after a 40 min drive home.

As usual the portion sizes are immense for the price you pay. Tonight even after a tip, the price was well under 20$ for almost 3lbs of food.

This place is a family favorite. Wonderful spot for vegetarian and vegan options. We've had a lot of Genessee County Thai food, for comparison, and this place goes all out. I actually tone down the spices at Thai Nation and go with a medium range (2 or 3 out of 5) because the flavors are so good already. The vegetarian Pad Thai is our go to. Highly recommend.

Second edit: Just tried their Massaman curry and it's amazing! Super thick, hardy sauce, and the vegetables are cut nice and small so that every bite of rice has all of the flavors. My Tom Yum soup has pieces of fresh ginger in it! They have big bowls of soup. This place is the best. When we placed our order today, we asked the person on the phone if the Tom Yum soup had chicken or vegetable broth, and he knew all about their products. I love that he knew the recipes and the adjustments that are made for vegetarian orders. I cannot hype this place up enough.

I used to go to the grand blanc location and loved it.. it was always nice and fast.. but the burton location is a whole other story... today was the second time we ordered from there... told us on the phone that our food was ready by 6:15 pm ... we are going on 6: 35 pm now... will not come back again...

After trying a couple other Thai places in the area, this one is by far the best. Their Red pineapple curry is the BOMB!

Great service on the phone and at the counter. The man was extremely pleasant and efficient. You really don't get that kind of customer service these days. It was a nice change for sure. I ordered the green curry mild because I'm used to mild still burning my mouth at other places. It was almost too sweet because there wasn't enough spice. It was still delicious. I will just have to remember to order it medium next time.

The food in burton location is so inconsistent with the flavor, quality, and the amount. Grand blanc its always the similar amount and quality. Today we ordered food from burton for the third time and the pad thai was all watery, barely had the usual amount of chicken and noodles. There was no flavor. Also i had number 11 and the orange sauce was so watery. Again, no flavor. But the guy offered to re make it. Just had to drive twice to pick up is all :/

Let me start by saying i have been to MANY thai food restaurants, but thai nation bistro is by FAR the best one i have ever been to, i always get a pad thai of some sort as it is my favorite dish, they knocked it out of the park here, i do get the spiciest they offer which is number 5 spice, but its not a burn your tongue off spicy its super delish, cant say how many times ive tried different places and not finished my food because of how hot places make it one day to the next.

I was willing to give them another shot, but this last time, I got the wrong item, wrong spice level, and when I called to ask, the person who answered the phone said it was the right item, just missing essential ingredients. So everyone else in my family is eating, and I'm stuck with nothing because I was not willing to make yet another trip back to the restaurant to exchange my dinner. I gave them two stars because they were willing to refund me for my meal, but that's the best thing about my experience.

Valentines brunch was fire have always loved the original location and this ones food and tea match deffo worth a visit would recommend!

Pad thai was extremely good definitely recommend and will be ordering other items from the menu

The food is good..or was but has gotten to be very inconsistent. Used to get it quite a bit, usually get the same thing but I feel the quality has just diminished over time. Super oily and salty, yuck! Also hardly any spice.

Sadly disappointed. When this place 1st opened up it was just delicious! I've had it 3 times in the last 2 months and I hate to say in my opinion it has gone down hill it was very blan. I always order pineapple fried rice with grilled chicken. The last time I ordered I had very very little chicken and it was diced up small instead of the usual good portion of chicken chunks and the flavor wasn't there. I didn't call I just gave it a cant always be perfect excuse and told myself I will try it again. This time I had 3 pieces of pineapple and the taste was far from delight. I did call this time. I let the nice lady know I ordered Pineapple fried rice but only had 3 pieces of pineapple she asked the cook about it and he said we're running low on pineapple. I told her my advice would be to inform the customer before it's just decided to cut the customer short charging the same price. I had guest over and I talked the place up a great deal to have gotten that dish with that response. I hope it gets better again I would love to see this business succeed. I asked for a discount they said 1/2 off next time. If it impresses me I'll change my review. I hate leaving not so good reviews but I've been highly disappointed. Please get better!

Food was good and portions were large. Only complaint, I asked for level 5 spice, and there was little to no spice at all. My red curry fried rice with chicken was still tasty, just not spicy at all. Wife said her pineapple fried rice with veggies was excellent

Back in the early days of the Burton location, this was my favorite place to eat. They are a great family who cares about their food. However, I have tried their Grand Blanc location several times and it has been rapidly going downhill. I eventually stopped going. After almost a year, I tried again and had a friend pick me up some egg rolls and dumpling soup. The egg rolls were very greasy. The soup couldn't even be called dumpling soup. It consisted of empty dumpling shells in pieces and what could only be described as chicken scraps. There wasn't even one small piece of chicken, just meat crumbs. I'm very disappointed and won't get food from there again.

3 of my last 4 experiences with this restaurant have been horrible, either rec'd the wrong dishes or the dishes I ordered were done wrong. Last night I ordered Red Curry with chicken with a spice of 5 peppers. It has always come with rice on the side. Tonight it was packed with rice which made it bland & tasteless, and gave it way more carbs than I wanted. I ordered a spice of 5 peppers and was lucky if I got 2. I think it was packed with rice to hide the fact it had very little chicken or vegetables in it. I will never come back here again.

My Fiancee just went up and got some tom kah witch is one of her favorites. We have been there before and we usually have a good experience other than the fairly high high prices. This time she went and ordered in person and the woman that took the order very rudely tried to encourage her not to order because the food would not be ready for hours. my fiancee said she would happily wait as we live right down the street and the woman reluctantly accepted the order. My fiancee called me upset because the woman was so rude. We will be going elsewhere for our thai food from this point forward.

Best Thai food around..

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING.

Hands down best Thai food I’ve had in Michigan, and I’ve eaten at a lot. You can tell the food is cooked together in the sauce and simmered properly, the flavors meld so well together. This is not your 8 minute flip stuff in a wok and serve with pre package sauces. This is my third visit and have tried 7 dishes all have been exceptional. Worth the wait. Worth the price.

The food is wonderful and always on point! I order from here once a week and never am I disappointed. Some of the reviews say the food is bland, but I I strongly disagree. Every dish I’ve ordered is always full of flavor. And portion sizes are huge, you’ll definitely have leftovers. The owner and people who work there are super friendly. Keep up the great work Thai Nation!

Very good food. When you order, you can choose the “heat” level (1-5). The portions are enough for 2 people or more. Look on Facebook and then on images to see the menu.

The new location on Dort and Maple is the best Thai food I have found after trying many in the area.

The food is absolutely delicious. None of the workers were wearing a mask in the Burton location which is disappointing because it is one of our favorite places. We won't be returning until the pandemic is over.

It's Thai food, it's fine. Nothing crazy, but does the trick at the price and pace you'd expect. Ran out of tofu for one of our orders, but called us to give a heads up and let us know they put extra veggies in that order instead, which was nice of them.

Great flavor and consistently good food. Customer service has always been excellent! Thank you and keep up the good work.

The food was amazing but the customer service.... not so much. I think it's just one person that has a horrible attitude and unfortunately she's the face and voice that the customers have to put up with. She was so rude both times I called to place an order and when I went to pick up the order.

Edit: These photos are from the newer Saginaw & Maple location, but the food is just as good at either restaurant. Lovely comfortable new location for an old favorite of mine. The food is just fantastic. The curry will bring you back to life in the dead of winter. This restaurant has lots of generous windows which fill the room with natural light and make it feel bright and cozy. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I ordered food here on Tuesday, the guy who took my order was efficient and really nice. When I got home and ate my food, it was still hot and so delicious. I’m excited to come back!
