Lovely canal side with great sushi, Thai food and cocktails. Outdoor seating during summer month is dog friendly.
Our group was attending a show at 8:00 in Lowell, the same evening of the Charlie Brown Christmas. We were stuck in traffic and was behind schedule. We entered Blue Taleh at 6:50. We were seated immediately. Our server came over quickly. I told him we had tickets to a show. He asked what time our show was. He gave us a few minutes to decide what to order. Our food and drinks arrived, we ate, paid and left in about 40 minutes leaving us plenty of time to make the show. The food was fantastic. The service was excellent. We will be back when we have more time. Very impressed!
Good location close to MRT and Lowell Auditorium. Overall food is average. Tonight the service was sub par. Server doing his best but he’s also making cocktails.
Been here twice now. It can get busy so reservations are recommended.
Both times we had fantastic meals.
Excellent menu if you're looking for rice, noodles, veggies or something in between they have it. The Pad Prik and Massman Curry were our choices this time.
The sushi menu looked extensive and the sushi chef was busy the entire time we were there.
From Sushi to Thai this place nails perfection! Our family shook off a cold day with friendly, attentive service, an excellent selection of drinks and non-alcoholic alternatives, incredible appetizers and entrees which had us in awe! My niece was particularly pleased with her fried ice cream. I will make the trip back to Lowell just for this restaurant! Yes it is that amazing ❤️
Second visit was just as amazing as the first! The Basil fried rice with crispy chicken is absolutely the best I have ever had! Though I live over an hour from Lowell, I envision several additional trips to BlueTaleh!
Mediocre food at high prices.
Sushi bento was $23 and only had 4 nigiri. No other sushi of any kind. Just some house salad, 2 gyoza, edamame, and a miso soup. That feels like robbery.
Green and panang curry were fine but forgettable. For whatever reason, rice is not included and is $4 for each tiny bowl. That's ridiculous. Imagine getting a Bolognese where the spaghetti is additional cost.
I had a very disappointing experience at Blue Taleh Saturday night.
My Pad Thai came to the table cold. The staff offered to "heat it up or put it in a box"???
They did not offer to re-make the food - which made me feel really awkward and uncomfortable.
I don't dislike Blue Taleh's food - but their customer service is really bad. The prices arent cheap either. I would appreciate if management contacted me to resolve this.
Very Nice Location, atmosphere is very Cozy, they have nice section with outdoor seating as well. I recommend the "Tango Mango Mojito" In photo & the "Asian 🍐 Martini", out waitress Was Very attentive and Pleasant. We had the Red Dragon Maki Roll(in photo),hot and Sour soup w chicken, crispy pad Thai, and seaweed salad. Everything was Very Good. Incredible Flavors, and layers of different textures. Highly recommend. Stop On In and ENJOY!!😁😁

The Chili Duck is excellent! I have been here many times and can’t remember a disappointing meal.

Real calm setting but it’s the staff that made this place amazing! They were so kind and polite! I wish I could give them 10 stars ⭐️
Beautiful location, wonderful staff, however my food was mid. Heavily sauced deep fried duck with lots of unrendered fat still on it, wasn't too impressed by it overall.

Wonderful tasty food great drinks from the bar personal are very kind and helpful friendly
This place is incredible. The Alligator Roll (shrimp tempura based) was UNREAL. Highly recommend
Our party of 4 was served quickly and the dishes we ordered were deliciously prepared and even the layout on the serving plates was exquisite. Our waiter was alert, courteous and friendly. Truly an A++ experience!

Food expensive and hasn't a good flavor, I ordered a shrimp soup and the soup hasn't no one shrimp, the raw food is old, I felt sick. The bartender is a old Madame and was all time mad, I thought is the owner of the restaurant. I will never go again
It feels like they are selling Costco frozen food at restaurant prices.
I ordered for pickup and my noodles were crunchy and inedible I wasted a lot of money for a meal I couldn’t eat. They didn’t greet me and had me waiting at the entrance for 15 minutes ignoring that I was standing there.
Came here for dinner and a drink when we got bored with The Price is Right Live. The bar service was friendly and welcoming, and the food was tasty.

Food was amazing and service was top tier. I definitely recommend the pad Thai and volcano maki. Can’t wait to be back!
This place was great! The volcano maki was amazing and the lychee martini was one of the best drinks I’ve had in a long time. Our waitress Jasmine was so sweet and attentive, would definitely come back just for her!
I had the pleasure of dining at this fine establishment in the heart of downtown Lowell. Our server was very sweet and attentive, would come back just for her. Everything tasted so good I'd recommend this place to anybody visiting.

Disappointed is an understatement the waitress are pleasant ,the food was soo disappointing,I honestly don’t think I would visit the place again .
The place was completely empty when I picked up my food. When I got home and tasted it I knew why it was empty.
I've eaten many things at this restaurant that were very good including most sushi dishes, pad Thai and hot and sour soup. Unfortunately, their "papaya" salad was incredibly disappointing. The papaya I know is yellow and sweet. The papaya they use is what they referred to as "young" papaya. Absolutely NO flavor to it so the salad was a waste of money
Update 1/29/24
I really hate writing this review considering I've already written them a positive review but I guess it's been a while now. Ordered from them last night through door dash. My wife and I ordered the scallion pancake (exceptionally small order and not much to them), hot and sour soup (exceptionally spicy with a total of 2 shrimp), stuffed avocado (absolutely no taste at all), dumpling soup (no complaints), una su (BBQ eel sushi which also had very little taste) for a total of $80. So very disappointed. I hope they get their act together, make a better product again and improve on their portion size the way they USED to be.
Awful staffs !
Indulge in exquisite Pad Thai and Sushi at this outstanding dining spot, a consistent favorite that keeps me coming back for more! Remarkably gluten-free friendly, it's the perfect choice for those with dietary preferences. Elevate your culinary experience with a blend of authenticity and quality that makes this establishment a must-visit. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or Pad Thai lover, this place caters to diverse tastes, making it a top choice in the culinary scene.
Great night our with awesome food
Terrible service
Came here for a company lunch. Waitress was very nice but was all by herself at a busy lunch hour, but did a great job. Recommend the double crispy chicken if you like spice. Food has different spice levels to accommodate. Portions are big which is a plus. Street parking is available and as well as the Davidson lot nearby.
Great food and our server was amazing
The restaurant was nice on the inside and it is located in a great location as long as you don’t have to worry about parking downtown! The food was good but nothing exceptional the biggest downside was ordering a chicken stir fry with rice and paying $24 for it pre tax and tip, a bit more than paying at other Thai restaurants in the area. Other that than the service was good and it was a nice place to sit and eat.
Always a good meal and better service. (Hard to find these days)

Went to this locale for a business lunch. The service was excellent and the food was good. The only complaint that I and others in my party had was that the taste in the noodle dishes was inconsistent throughout the dish. Maybe a bit more tossing/stirring would help. The taste still was half decent, and the portions were great. Overall I would go back to this place for another meal. Definitely recommend Blue Taleh.
The setting outside was great. Food was not great. My dish was too salty. I could not eat it. And I had to ask another waiter to have our waiter come to serve us ( about 15 minutes) not a busy night.
Drinks were also not to Asian restaurant standards.
We enjoyed a perfect dinner at Blue Taleh! The food was delicious, we sat outside by the river is a comfortable little oasis, and the service was excellent very friendly. We’ll definitely be back soon!
Really enjoyed the food, the service was pretty slow but the waitresses were super nice the whole time.
The Thai iced tea was all dairy and had no taste, so I threw it away. The peanut sauce with the summer rolls was NOT the same sauce I've had with them before and it was horrible. The chicken curry peanut dish was so bad I had to throw most of it away. The only reason I ate any is because I had no other options at the time. This place has gone WAY downhill and I will not go back
Ordered a dish that was supposed to be spicy.. Drunken Noodles and there was absolutely no heat. Asked for chili oil and they gave me red pepper flakes. My wife had the Volcano Maki and loved it
This place is a gem!
Long wait to order and food delivered. One meal of 5 was delivered when others were done.
Split Thai food and martinis. Service was a bit slow, and the price was a bit higher than expected. Nevertheless, I would go back for a nice dinner in Lowell.
Party of 5. Food was good, service was horrific. Two people received their meal 25 minutes after the rest. Drink order to 20+ for 4 beers and 1 mixed drink. No check backs from server. We had to search out staff to get missing meals. Only 5 tables occupied in restaurant. Worst service I have ever had in a restaurant. It felt like the staff didn't have any idea of what they were supposed to do and were oblivious that we very upset.
Great place for some drinks and good Asian food
Sushi is always fresh and their currys are delicious! When it's nice out they have a great little dining area out on the canal. Great vibe!
Took a little while for them to realize I was there food was okay nothing special I think it might be better when the outside dining is going in there is more people but that shouldn't be the case
The food here is always great; eat in or take out. We were in on a Tuesday to eat in so it was QUIET and everything came out very quickly and was tasty as usual.
Highly recommend their sushi!
We were there on a very busy night but friendly and competent staff did a good job keeping up. Huge menu with a lot of sushi dishes. Good soups. Good Thai food and Indonesian fried rice.
Food is always great and they are so sweet. We have become regulars and enjoy bringing friends there.
Great Thai and Japanese! Friendly staff!
Great food and the service was wonderful
If you want Asian cuisine this is the place! We sat at the bar and the sushi was rolled right in front of us and I wish I could have tried everything in the menu. It was busy but only because there was a show at the Lowell auditorium that night. 💯 Percent recommend!
The food at this restaurant is not fresh and this why I don’t recommend this place.
Fantastic sushi, amazing pad Thai and great service. We love this place for dinner before a show at the auditorium!
A great spot next to the canal. The food was extraordinary. I'll be back.
Great Chicken Panang
Love the food there. One of my favorite places to eat.
Very good food. Generous portions. Excellent waitstaff. Highly recomended.
Sat for 2 hours and never got full order of drinks, water refills, or our dinner. Tried to talked to owners, they were indignant. The place has tanked. Should have listened when people told us not to go there because the owners are awful.
Delicious and consistent.
My go-to place for sushi in Lowell
Worst food , rude waitresses because I tipped 10$ dollars. Bad place . Last time I was in the waitress was looking at me very strange the whole time and talked negative about the tip I left.
Very bad
I went down to the restaurant to enjoy some well seasoned food but that was the last thing I got at this restaurant I ordered a papaya salad and it came with no papaya in it also everything tasted old and tasteless
Second when I got the bill it came out to 73.65 I tipped to round up to 82 I thought that was good enough for the experience I had plus that’s all I had . A different waitress came over and said that the original waitress was upset about the small tip 😮.
In conclusion I would never eat at this establishment ever again!!
There are a lot of positives for this restaurant. They occasionally have performances of live music and the outdoor seating is my favorite in downtown Lowell. The drinks are also top naught.
The downsides are that it is quite expensive for what you get and the food is only mediocre.
Definitely worth a try at least once!
Blue Taleh is in my top 2 picks for Thai, locally. Consistent quality, always delicious, and totally worth the trip! I've only ever been in once to pick up my takeout order, but the hostess was wicked nice! We asked about accessible seating forna friend of mine & they were very kind and informative. Can't wait to come in for a sit down meal.
Delicious, good serving size for sushi.
This place has excellent noodles and curry. Pick any of those from the menu and you are in for a great dinner
Cute downtown Lowell place, in an old brick building on a busy street, which creates a cool, unique atmosphere. We were greeted right away by a friendly staff member who was busy, but seemed happy to welcome us. Although we wanted to sit at a table and enjoy dinner, we were told that all tables were reserved, so we had to sit at the bar. Now, there were about 20 tables, only one of which was occupied. So, the restaurant looked empty, but sure enough, each table had a hand written note that said it was reserved, with a reservation time (most of them 5:30 or 6:00). We got there a little after 4:00, so I didn't really understand why we couldn't sit at a table. They could have told us we had to be done by the (5:30 or 6:00) reservation, and we would have been fine with that. Fast forward to when we left... it was just a little after 5:00, long before the reservation parties arrived, so the restaurant was still empty. I'm not an expert in the restaurant business, but that didn't seem right. We're not the "sit at the bar" types, so that wasn't great. The food was pretty good... I'd give the food a solid 8/10. Very friendly, attentive servers. Food took time to arrive, but not too long; I just wouldn't say they were fast. Probably understaffed like everyone right now. Also a little pricey, like everyone lately, so that's to be expected. Overall, good place and worth the visit. I'd go back. And I'll make reservations next time.
Those mai thais were the most expensive cups of non-alcoholic juice I've ever ordered.
You like fancy then this Is it for a Restaurant that’s for sure. Not so much the decors or the elegancy of the place but the food set up. That’s most likely why the price was higher than other places. Has a bar area and the food was good. Service was friendly. Menu was not overpowering and simple. This place is always busy during lunch or dinner.
Though it's a Thai and Japanese restaurant all the flavors of the Thai dishes we ordered were Chinese.....! Maybe a one off incident
Pineapple fried rice
Drunken noodles
Green curry
The portion sizes are quite generous and wholesome.
They are kind enough to accept special requests.
Wonderful service
Great Asian fusion experience in the heart of Lowell.
Delicious Thai food. Nice bar seating and high-top tables. Piano in the bar area with live cocktail music. Cozy for a date with a friend, someone special and excellent for takeout.
I love everything from here. The food is GREAT! One of my favorite restaurants.
The night started out with a bad virgin pina colada. Literally bad! It was like the ingredients went bad and had a rancid taste. We had two different people verify this poor quality and returned it back. I had requested a second allagash on tap. It's the only beer I drink on draft and I am well aware of its taste. However I was given an IPA of similar coloring and asked for another one. Only to be told that the bartender said it was allagash. *how did they verify that? They can make a mistake* I then refused the the beer knowing it was an IPA. Last but not least my meal was supposed to come with a soup and salad and it was never recieved. I didn't even realize until the end of the night. I didn't even bother to complain since it was obvious they wouldn't do anything about it. I will NEVER go here again and I recommend you stay away as well.
It was pretty. Pretty much all I can say about it. Menus are a QR code that doesnt even gove you the full menu. It was WAY too much work to even figure out what was available . We left.
Great sushi!!!! 🍣 The udon can be improved though. It was a bit plain and the veggies can be cooked longer. Maybe it’s the real Japanese style? Not sure. I felt that udon was super “fresh” and healthy (not much salt). Maybe it’s for my health.
Great cocktails, great appetizers, and a seat on the river! Excellent service.
Maybe I don’t know what to order but what I did order was not our favorite. Seemed average and boring. The sushi did not seem any better than sushi from a grocery store.
Good food and service. Very clean.
Food was good. Great outdoor seating by the river
Fresh fish, nice portions
Food took over 1 hr to come out. Over charged us on food we did not receive. They blamed it on COVID. They would not adjust our bill or accommodate us in any way.
Great food and excellent service. Highly recommended!
First of all, this ???ess is under ůl?area ķio Ienjoying their experience(s) at blue taleh. Overall three star. In my opinion, keep serving drinks and make suggetions. It makes a big difference. Thank you but id rather go somewhere else. Uuu
Great food nices working clean places
As always.. good food.. good service.. good company.
Good food sadly dine in isn't available, the boyfriend and I had originally come for a date. However, it's understandable. We got take out instead
Sushi was good, as well as the tempura and Thai rolls, but do NOT order the chicken satay, if you can even really call it that. There was no seasoning on the chicken besides maybe some salt and pepper, and the peanut sauce was really oily. I also had to wait an extra 30 minutes after arriving at the restaurant for my order to be ready, but I am mostly disappointed in the fact that a Thai restaurant would serve such bland chicken satay. I don't think I can give this place a second chance, but if you do, DO NOT order the chicken satay
Wonderful time! Delicious food, safe atmosphere and great staff! I wish I could remember our server's name, she was extremely personable and attentive. Thank you!
Love the pad thai. Didnt get one star because i asked for ectra peanut sauce and it wasnt in bag.
The best Asian cuisine anywhere sushi is the topps. Great owners, clean, the best drinks
Really nice place we dinned outside the food was great and our waitress was very nice
Great meal, service and outside dining experience
Great place. Great food
Good food.
Best Crab raggons
Good food, strong drinks, even accommodated our little daughter, who came with us on Valentine's Day! Wish their dinner plate portions were a tad bigger. Sushi tastes fresh and on point.
Classy environment, well prepared dishes, good prices. Took a star away for exceptionally slow service, but they were courteous and polite to interact with when a server was to be found.
Decent prices. Delicious. Personal favorite is the unagi sushi
Went up to Lowell for the first time in a while and of course chose to dine at Blue Taleh which was exactly how I remember. It is one of the best restaurants in Lowell hands down. The tuna tostadas are the best thing on the menu, I have yet to find anything that compares down in Boston.
Thai/sushi restaurant with excellent food and cocktails. Outdoor seating along canal during summer. Convenient to Lowell Memorial auditorium and Lowell summer music series. A personal favorite.
Maki rolls + produce are always fresh. Staff were very busy yet accommodating. At night, lighting may be too dark for older adults with vision problems, but I found the ambiance chic. Affordable and decent portion sizes. I strongly recommend getting a reservation, especially weekend nights. Worth it to try at least once.
Best pad Thai around!!
best sushi around lowell hands down. you are paying for quality and quantity, don't worry people. david, the fall black haired kid is the most friendly and hard working guy. the two sushi chefs always prepare the food with passion and care, along with the deep bar options and the great kitchen. i would recommend the spicy noodle soup and the pad see ew.
Great place; vibrant and friendly.
Why not
Never a bad dinner choice!
Decent meal with good service. Japanese and thai are an interesting combo each done with mediocrity.
I only go there for fried ice cream. Lots of people seem to judge alot by your looks. It's a fancy place, wear a full on 1940s gangster suit if you have to.
Best Thai food I’ve ever had! Great staff, service, atmosphere and cocktails. A MUST try!
Lovely al fresco dining by one of the Lowell canals. Pad Thai. Sushi. Wine. Good service too. Be sure to try Blue Taleh in summer, or on a warm spring or autumn day. There is nothing quite like enjoying sushi and wine outdoors beside a waterway. The restaurant is only a short walk from events at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium or plays at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre, so you can plan to dine at Blue Taleh before or after your show. However - make a reservation well ahead of time if you want a table before a popular show!!
I will preface this by saying my past experience at Blue Taleh was good. But my experience today was bad enough that I felt I needed to review it, and most likely will not frequent this restaurant anymore. My boyfriend and I arrived at 12:25 and sat at the bar. The restaurant was quiet with only one other person at the bar when we walked in. We ordered crab ragoons and two bento lunch boxes. My miso soup had no pieces of tofu in it, which isn’t a big deal but then our crab ragoons came out frozen in the center. We sent them back, the waitress didn’t apologize and brought them back out, this time overdone. We asked the waitress and she said she refried the same ones we had sent back. Our bento boxes didn’t come out until 1:10, at this point we have to put in more money for our parking meter and we are sitting at the bar hungry. Clearly we should have ordered alcoholic beverages.. to top off the whole experience, the waitress charged us for the crab ragoons we didn’t eat and didn’t check in with us about our experience. Very disappointed in our dining experience
