Inventive Thai-inspired Craft Burger | Pasta | Brunch & Afternoon Tea | Beer, Wine & Craft Mocktails Bar
Let us take you on a culinary journey, where bold Thai flavors meet Western classics.
This is a flavor of Thai food you would never found anywhere else in the area. You can tell on how they really delicate with their recipes with the new flavor profile. We ordered 2 appetizers 2 burgers and 2 pasta. Everything was so good. I would say it was a generous size of patty. It will make you filled for a while. I would recommend everybody to stop by before it gets too crowded which it will be 😎
Great atmosphere on the dimmer side, but really sets a vibe. The food was amazing. The burgers were nicely made to be medium with a great balance of being cooked while maintaining a good amount of juiciness. We really liked the green curry pasta that was a perfect balance of spicy and flavor, though the meat was nicely made it could have used a bit more flavor as a standalone, but was great when mixed with the curry. The Tom koh and cod pasta had a good amount of flavor, but we preferred the green curry, I would definitely recommend trying it. The Thai tea deserts were delicious and the honey mango sherbet was also pretty good, but felt overall undermelming when compared. The coconut coffee was surprisingly very delicious and sweet. The service was amazing despite being super busy with a nearly packed restaurant and only 2 servers on shift. We never felt like we had to wait for any service like water refills, check ins, or getting our bill. They were very friendly and even took time to communicate with customers for recommendations and just some light chatting. Overall, enjoyed our visit and definitely coming back again.
Holy smokes! I came here with not much expectations and walked away totally blown away!
This cozy Thai inspired craft burger and pasta fusion restaurant has so many innovative dishes that makes you craving for more!
I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!
THIS IS A MUST VISIT!
Had dinner at Black Ruby last night, and I have to say—it was easily the best pasta I’ve had in the Boston/Cambridge area. The flavors in the sauces were absolutely incredible—rich, well-balanced, and downright drool-worthy. Can’t wait to go back and try their burgers next!
A small note on the experience: while the food was top-notch, the service could have been smoother. The restaurant was packed, and it seemed like they were short-staffed, which made it difficult for one person to manage everything efficiently.
As for the green curry rigatoni—easily a 10/10 in terms of flavor, but the spice level? Off the charts! As an Indian with a pretty high spice tolerance, even I found it hard to handle. Dialing it down just a notch would take it from amazing to absolutely perfect: 11/10 dish.
Nice and cozy spot with reasonable price, the food are good and my favorite is Tom yum pasta. it delivered all the good combination of Thai and Italian. Burgers are modernized with good asian fusion. Plus, their brioche is so soft and tasty. The service is great, Palm who is the manager has very good acknowledge about her dishes and recommended good taste to our palates. recommended for an easygoing place.
Loved the ambiance and creative take on Western dishes with Thai flavors! Two standouts for me were:
Khao Soi Burger – The crispy egg noodles added a nice crunch, and the curry sauce had great flavor with a hint of Thai basil. However, the bun was a bit dense, and the patty was slightly overcooked, which took away from the overall experience. A little more spice would’ve made it even better.
Roasted Tomato Meat Sauce Pasta – Surprisingly good! The savory sauce had a nice depth of flavor with a slight chili kick. The crispy pork rinds added a nice texture, but I think something else could have complemented the dish better.
While some details could be improved, the food was tasty overall, and I’d come back. If you enjoy Thai-inspired comfort food, this spot is worth a try!
I just had the most incredible meal at this new Thai restaurant! Their crispy basil beef burger is an absolute game-changer. The Thai-style seasoned beef patty was packed with flavor, perfectly complemented by the gooey American cheese and the richness of the crispy fried egg. The sauteed mushrooms and caramelized onions added a delightful sweetness, while the crispy basil and Thai basil sauce brought a bold and unique twist. Every bite was an explosion of flavor!
The french fries were equally impressive—crispy, golden, and perfectly seasoned. They paired wonderfully with the burger and were impossible to stop eating.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a great mix of modern and Thai-inspired decor. The staff was super friendly and made the entire experience even better.
If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a meal that’s both creative and delicious, this is it. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
Just had dinner at their soft opening. What a fantastic and creative addition to the neighborhood! We tried the garlic burger and green curry rigatoni. The burger sauce was mild, creamy, and delicious, and I appreciated that they collab’ed on the bun with the bakery next store. The pasta was cooked perfectly, with a spicy sauce. The staff was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend and look forward to returning!
Very popular restaurant as the line was out the door at 7p. Was seated at 5:30p and the restaurant wasn’t packed—waters were self refill in a pitcher. Drinks arrived quickly. Highly recommend the Thai Tea (not too sweet, the flavor comes through). Had the green curry sandwich—juicy chicken, not spicy at all (surprise), green curry sauce was thin so dripped a lot. Calamari is skippable—the Thai spices don’t come through. Pastas were better—esp. the green curry pasta but wished the meat was more integrated into the dish instead of placed on top like an afterthought. Kitchen was definitely overwhelmed as plates came out maybe 2-3 plates at a time for large party. They ran out of sticky rice mango sundae by 7p so that was very disappointing as I wasn’t interested in the other options.
I love everything that I’ve ordered especially Tom Yum pasta
Very unique concept and Thai food fusion. The khao soi burger was expected. But the Tom kha creamy pasta with the cod was very very unique (in a good way). If you like tom kha gai soup, you will like this dish. Was there at 6:30 on a Friday night with no wait, but the place started to fill up at 7. It also has a bar seating if you want to have a more date experience. Highly recommend
I lived in Porter for years and am so sad this place opened after I left because I'd have eaten here every day.
The burger was one of my favorite in Boston, and the atmosphere is very nice!
I can't wait to go back to try some of their other dishes!
Service was great. Drink, burger, and dessert were all delicious. Best new spot in Porter!
Even things good 👍👍
LOVED the unique fusion of Thai flavors into American dishes, you can tell the chef was very thoughtful about what would work well together. Decor was beautiful and service was attentive. We got 3 different burgers, a pasta dish, and the fries - everything was delicious. We will definitely return!

THIS IS A MUST VISIT!
Tom Yum spaghetti is the best, Larb pork Burger must have!!

When I first heard about this restaurant I was excited and amazed by the concept. I made a reservation with my friend to grab dinner.
I noticed at first the 2 waitresses on the floor appeared overwhelmed as it was a full house. When I arrived, I was standing behind one couple in the line and then another couple followed behind me. We were all waiting to be seated. Once a waitress finally attended to us she asked if anyone had a reservation, which I mentioned that I did and I was on time for it. The other 2 groups did not and were both walk ins. The waitress decides to seat the 2 couples in front and behind me instead of me when I was the only that had a reservation. I was told to wait at the bar. I mentioned to other waitress how it was unfair and weird for the 2 walks ins to be seated first before the Person who actually made the reservation and they apologised.
After waiting to be seated, my friend and I ordered the Tom Kha pasta, calamari and the green curry sandwich with fries. The waitress recommended the green curry sandwich and said that it was spicy so I went ahead and ordered it. The chicken sandwich with fries and calamari came out first and we were still waiting on the pasta for a while. We did notice the other tables that were seated after us received their food (we believe it was the same pasta) before us. After a long wait we received the pasta. We both tried the Tom kha pasta and both really loved it! The sauce was flavourful and creamy. My friend asked for it to be extra spicy and there was no spice at all in the pasta, but the pasta tasted good.
I was excited to try the chicken sandwich so I began to cut the sandwich in half. As I was cutting I noticed it was pretty tough to cut but I assumed it was because of how dense the sandwich was. After cutting I noticed the inside of the chicken sandwich was slightly pink, i pulled the chicken apart to confirm and I told the waitress that the chicken wasn’t fully cooked. She was able to take the plate away and she did offer if I wanted something else to which I declined. The calamari was okay, nothing special in my opinion.
Overall, the service needs improvement and there needs to be more organisation within the staff. I do think this place has potential and I understand that this is a soft opening. The pasta was amazing but I was disappointed with the chicken sandwich. There needs to be some sort of quality check of food to ensure customers don’t get food poisoning.
Probably the best pasta I’ve had.
So good. Super quick service on a Thursday night and *delicious* burgers. We tried the garlic one and the basil one!!

The best fusion burger I’ve had!!!
Ok, you have to try this place. The crafty burgers are so delicious you can taste the goodness! We had the pleasure of meeting Pam the chef and owner of this brilliant spot because I just had to thank her for the masterpiece she created. She was the nicest most welcoming person! She’s done such a great job with the menu the flavors the atmosphere. It was featured in eater magazine and I had to try it. It did not disappoint. I’m hooked and will definitely be back again and again!!!
Best burger experience ever!! Highly recommend and we will be back.
I came here with my coworkers to try out new burger restaurant and i love their Khao soi burger. So flavorful and cooked to how I like it medium rare. The staff is so nice and attentive. I will definitely come back here again.
We went during their soft opening and really enjoyed our meal! The 15% discount was very generous, and the food was reasonably priced already. We got the Khao Soi burger and Tom Yum shrimp pasta. The burger technically had more chili pepper symbols but we found the pasta to be much spicier. The flavors were excellent, and the burger well-cooked and juicy. Loved the smoky flavor of the huge prawns. It was a nice ambience and friendly service! Recommend giving it a try!
Overall excellent - clever fusion idea
If there was a selection of local beers I would probably have spent twice as much
Just opened new place, all the food we had was very tasty. The flavors just pop. The crispy basil burger with the spicy sweet sauce is a great combination.
I love this restaurant. Thai herbs calamari is so good and The pasta is wonderful
We had the Basil Burger and the Thai Garlic Burger, with fries and onion rings. Everything was delicious! The service was great. Prices are very reasonable (particularly as they have a soft opening right now, and are giving a 15% discount).
I went for lunch twice. The atmosphere is quiet, somehow both dark and sunny. The staff is very attentive and friendly. But the food! Oh, the food! I had the chaos Sai burger both times. The burger was well cooked and flavorful. The toppings were delicious and novel (at least to me). And even the bun was more substantial than I recall ever having.
Love the creativity! Nice presentation and taste soooo goood.
I've tried the Basil pork dumplings, Pad Thai spring rolls, and Thai Herb calamari, and they were all fantastic!
The burger, Khao Soi, and Larb were perfectly balanced and not too spicy. Plus, the bun is super unique – I really enjoyed it!
And I can’t get enough of the Green Curry pasta! It tastes so authentic, but it's richer and creamier, which makes it even better. I’ll definitely be bringing my family next time!
Excited to have this place in the neighborhood!
Absolutely delicious and unique food! We got the pad thai egg rolls, bbq pork burger, and chicken satay sandwich. All great, but the pork patty was next level. I haven’t been this excited about a restaurant in a long time. Can’t wait to try more of their inventive menu. Very nice and attentive staff too!
Such a cool concept! All of the food was really good, especially for a soft opening. I got the BBQ Pork burger, which had great flavors but perhaps slightly too much sauce. We also shared an order of pad Thai spring rolls - delicious! The fries were also quite good. I’d love to come back at some point to try their drinks and deserts.
Additionally the service was good and the ambiance was very nice - this is bound to become a popular date spot.
Absolutely delicious food! Unique and very flavorful. The ambiance is also really nice. We’ll definitely come back often!!

We went this during the trial period, and we found the service to be a complete letdown!
We booked and then upon arriving they didn’t find our booking, fine. Then they seated us, but never gave us menus. We had to ask for them after 15 minutes of waiting.
The people they sat next to us immediately got tap water and the menu, basically all our neighbors got a better service, better attention, that’s not fair!
Despite this, we tipped 20%! We understand this is a new place. Please improve your service! Treat everyone equally.
love the vibe! we went there during the soft opening. it was exciting to finally see the creative Thai fusion spot in boston. the service was great. the food came out pretty quick. everything was yummy. highly recommend the basil burger. rib eye was also tasty but would be better with more chimichurri sauce. they didn’t have many alcoholic drinks options (only beers & wine) probably because it was still the soft opening but its okay. looking forward to seeing more drinks on the menu!
We ate here during the soft opening and the food was delicious! We loved the spicy pork larb burger (just the right amount of spice) and the mango sticky rice with ice cream. The Tom kha with cod linguine was creamy and delicious. The calamari was crispy and not too greasy. The honey ginger tea was a soothing sweet way to end the dinner. Highly recommend!! Excellent value. Service was friendly and attentive but the dining room was very busy and they will likely hire more waitstaff.
Had such a wonderful first visit to Black Ruby the other day. The employees were so welcoming and accommodating and my food was outstanding. I highly recommend the seafood pasta. It unlike anything I’ve ever tried before and the ingredients were so flavorful and fresh. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu items!
My roommate and I stumbled across this place while looking for somewhere to eat out around Porter. We walked into the restaurant on Saturday, not realizing that it hadn’t even opened yet and the staff were busy preparing for opening day on the Sunday. To our surprise we were asked if we would like to sample some items from the menu on the house!
We shared the green curry with ribeye steak and I had the Khao Soi beef burger. The dishes were very inventive and delicious. The green curry in particular was like nothing I've had before - it was deliciously creamy and rich and the steak was cooked perfectly. A burger with curry sauce inside tastes AMAZING and the noodles add a layer of crispiness - like having an onion ring in your burger but better. The staff were also lovely.
Looking forward to going back and sampling more of the menu!

For an area known for revolutions, the Thai-inspired burgers and food is revolutionary! Amazing flavors across the board, it was difficult to pick one option. Service was friendly and polite. Interior feels upscale but with a casual vibe. Brought friends and they all were eager to add Black Ruby to the rotation of restaurants they regularly visited.
Creative flavor combinations made for a tasty meal, will definitely be back!
Wonderful service and amazing food
The Burgers combine the flavors of Thai food, adding a new twist that you must try.
New spot on Mass Ave with a creative fusion menu. Came in for the soft opening and tried the Crispy Basil Burger and caesar salad and enjoyed both. The burger is very messy—no elegant way to eat, but very satisfying. Space is still pretty sparse but that’s probably because it’s so new. Looking forward to returning and trying other dishes and mocktails!
Wonderful new space with lovely staff and delicious burgers! I chose the Thai garlic burger (fear of spice what can I say) and it was excellent!
Really impressed by the creative menu! They do Thai-western fusion mainly with burgers and pasta though I saw they had an impressive apps/drink list as well. I ordered a green curry sandwich which had chicken and eggplant and it was very yummy, spicy sweet and savory without being too salty. Will come back to try their other dishes like the khao soi burger.
