Sweetrice Thai Sushi
Rangoons, Sushi and Pad Thai were great. Lemongrass chicken was unfortunately not very good. Dining in can be kind of annoying as they do a ton of takeout and there’s people always standing around you. But if you can get into the other dining area it’s much better. I recommend ordering from here for sure.
This place is super weird. The food was average and ok for the price, not noteworthy. But the main issue is the atmosphere of the place, the wait staff are extremely unwelcoming and made almost leave if I hadn’t already paid for the food. No one greets you as you enter and then you are met with the most hostile hostess who seems upset when each person approaches them. There was a quick misunderstanding on takeout versus Dine In due to me mumbling. Then she made it seem like I was asking for too much for a table. when I asked if I could use the bathroom she responded with an annoyed “sure” and an eye roll. Then proceeded to return with my food later and lecture me on proper restaurant etiquette and not even saying enjoy your meal. Again, if I hadn’t paid I would’ve let, because after all that I had to put in my headphones to block out the noise of the employees talking about me in their native language unaware I am fluent. Overall, if you order delivery barely worth the price or quality. But just don’t go In Person unless you want to be met with an attitude and feel uncomfortable. Forget kid friendly they are barely people-friendly. Really strange people.
Fantastic drunken noodles, but just alright chicken satay.
The drunken noodles were full of flavor and had fresh vegetables. Note: the spice level is an Asian spice level—I got spicy 3, and it packed a punch.
I took off 1 star because the chicken satay was just average: dry, lacking flavor, and not pairing well with the peanut sauce. Additionally, the staff were rude. While waiting for my food, I observed multiple encounters where staff flippantly told customers their food wasn’t ready. I also requested utensils in the bag but didn’t receive any.
Overall, I would come back for their drunken noodles and would get spicy 2 next time.
We order take out for delivery from this restaurant fairly often. The food is good but never consistent you can tell they never have the same cook. The last time I called for delivery the food never showed up. I called they said the delivery person never showed up to pick it up. My food had been sitting there for an hour and they were planning to deliver it as soon as he arrived. They said it’s not their driver blamed the company they sub out to. They could have called and I would have picked it up. This free delivery is a great convenience but the food it too expensive to eat after sitting on the counter for over an hour not to mention not likely safe. Just sent someone to get it. If it sucks I am not going to be happy.
Thai was a little diluted, calamari was good!, pad thai taste great, drunken noodle is fair, berry crab rangoon was effin’ good!, mango sticky rice is fair and crispy chicken basil is not that amazing for me. Our server was nice and proactive. Table spacing is wide. Bathroom is clean and smells good. I think people like it here as there are alot of takeout orders waiting. No parking space, so you got to roam around if the street parking is full. Accepts credit/debit. High chair available.
The dishes were delicious and plated beautifully. The inside is decorated nicely. I think what may be lacking and atmosphere is because there's so much takeout so there is a constant coming on going of people walking right beside the tables. It might have been nicer if we had sat in the second room which was away from the hustle and bustle. But the food was delicious, the staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back although we might do pick up next time, too.
Great lunch specials. Got the duck bacon fried rice and crispy chicken and both were fantastic. Crispy chicken was definitely a standout: topped on nicely seasoned veggies, the chicken went fabulously with all the spices and veggies. Duck fried rice also had good amount of juicy meat and I liked how they didn’t season the rice too heavily.
I have sweet rice frequently and love it! The sushi is fantastic and fairly priced. The Thai menu is flavorful and always fresh! It’s a neighborhood favorite

Delicious food prepared fast.
I dont hate the place. The food is decent, and we order often for the convenience. It is outrageously expensive though, and it's nothing close to special. Standard thai fare and sushi rolls. Selling an eight piece roll that is mainly sauce and rice with a sliver or two of tuna for $20 is highway robbery. Charlestown can do better than this for our one asian restaurant.
Easily one of the best places in all of Boston.
Ordered 1 Japanese plate and 2 Thai plates.
- Decent quantity of food
- Sushi was average but affordable
- Thai food lacked character, greasy and tofu was stale
Service was good, timely and attentive

Got the pineapple fried rice with tofu which was flavorful and crispy, and the scallion pancakes and summer rolls. $3 charge for cashews on the fried rice which seemed excessive but I got it anyways… good Thai food that will hit the spot
Sunday night . Beef noodle and Chrissy Chicken pastai were satisfactory .
Leckerer Thai-Food zu guten Preisen.
Great lunch spot while wondering around Boston harbor
My go to place in the neighborhood. I don’t understand how the places doesn’t have 5 stars!
Food was delicious, server was super friendly. We will be back!
When we lived in Charlestown we used to come to this place often when it was Chao thai. So we decided to come back and try it years later as it's changed names and it was equally as good. We really enjoyed our meals and the service was great. The atmosphere was Raiden par with what we expected although it seemed a little less quaint than it was as a prior restaurant. I would still recommend going here for Thai food as it was delicious.
Sashimi plate was excellent. Also, the spicy tuna temaki was extraordinary.
La servicio al cliente trata mal a los cliente
Amazing authentic food and the atmosphere is very pleasing.
Very delicious food for great prices. I ordered two lunch dishes because I thought one might not be enough, but it costed as much as a single dish in other places so I was very happy with it
I really like the menu, and also Love the taste of dishes here. I will go here when i am around this place.
Fantastic drunken noodles, but just alright chicken satay.

Delicious it's in a busy Charlestown neighborhood. I believe it's a safe neighborhood. I would let my 12 year old son explore. There are many other store restaurants and shops right in the area. The food is great from what I have eaten.
Try it if you're in the area.
Service and Atmosphere is fine, and only sushi to get in Charlestown besides from Whole Foods. To be honest, I prefer Whole Foods sushi more than Sweet Rice. We need them to get some fresher options as I’ve noticed the lack of consistency and have gotten some very below average sushi from here. Please do better as I would love a great sushi place in my neighborhood!
ordered through doordash, did not receive a full noodle dish that was ordered. the bag was sealed, so clearly the restaurant did not include it to begin with.
This place is really cool and the people were lovely- the food was nice but not amazing as not everything tasted fresh.
Tiny portions
"Yellow Curry DN" with Tofu is incredible! Loved the service everyone is really sweet ♡
This place was pretty nice for a lunch stop. The service was a bit slow and our server was not very attentive but she was pleasant. The avocado fries were super good and so was the pancake. The sushi rolls we got were just ok though.
Can only talk about my takeout order, which was delicious! Soup came warm, spiced and with extra toppings; sushi came in a nice and filling portion; and the crab rangoons with blueberries might be the best flavored rangoons I've had. Really tasty thai and japanese food and very fairly priced!
It's a good place to get Thai food and Sushi.
I give the Masseman Curry and Siam Garden dishes a solid B and my partner feels the same about the Sushi. Thai Ice Tea is decent. We have been there around 10 times over 6 years. Food seems a bit improved recently.
The dishes were delicious and plated beautifully. The inside is decorated nicely. Awesome Sushi. Staff is nice and the portions are good.
Stopped in here while in the area for lunch and the place may be small in size but it was pretty good. Fast service and a nice interior, friendly waitstaff and a menu of both sushi and Thai food of all types and a nice cocktail menu. The food was delicious and hit the spot and was fresh and tasty. Plus the prices were not bad at all. Parking is tight around here and its all on street, however if you can find a spot, stop in here.
Pad thai, from the noodles to the chicken, was extremely bland. Total disappointment. Go elsewhere for pad thai.
The server was rude.
Food was underwhelming. Nothing too special. I’ve tried the sizzling beef - thankfully I have a crunchy chili oil at home and made it a little more interesting.
I order take out from here every week for at least 2 years now — the sushi is always good and their Thai offerings are amazing
I really fell in love with the sushi bomb roll. I ordered it from DoorDash with some vegetables rolls & both were great. It was my first time trying sushi as well from an actual restaurant so it was very Good to me. The sushi was 15 dollars & the rolls were 5 dollars in my opinion it was totally worth it. I’m going to bring my family there one of these days to try out other stuff they have.
Always delicious sushi, would recommend
We order at least 2x a month from here and have for years:)
I came with my husband here and eat sushi and also got the pad thai and brown rice and the pad thai was spoiled I ask the waitress and she look at me like if I was saying something wrong so she went back and start to laugh with the other co workers and the chef they just moved the food around the plate and gave it back to me the smell was so awful that I felt to throw up and my husband is a chef so he also didn’t like this at al was spoiled and I just ask to remove it from my bill they were so unprofessional they just keep laughing and I used to like this place but I would never go back!
Great food and fast service. Love this
Place!
Quality food & service
chicken pad tai is incredible.
Good food but receive bad service from front desk attendant. The front server is very rude and lacks customer service. When asked to add an additional to go order to my already placed order, attitude was giving and when asked to speak to supervisor, none was found. I would like to go back but don't want to be greeted with a neck and eye roll.
Fantastic place, super friendly and great food
Excellent sushi service ownership everything was great

Nice little Asian restaurant
Muy buen lugar .
Good Thai food and satisfying sushi cravings. My go-to are the drunken noodles, crispy duck, any of the curries, and the khao soi is great for something hot and brothy.
Our "Go-To" spot for quality food and sushi. They have a great menu with lots of variety. I've never had a bad or even mediocre meal here - it's always good! The sushi tastes fresh and has great quality and flavor. When dining in, the service is always good and fast. Love going here and can't wait to go again!
Extremely rude treat customers badly and the funny thing is they do it with a smile in their face as if they were being nice to you. And they also stand there talking about you and laughing about you and their language which is rude.
Delicious food, friendly service, and on time!
Finally I found a comfort food with a reasonable price! 💕
They have a plenty of interesting Thai and Japanese menu. Def come back next time with friends so I can try more dishes haha!
Today I try 3 dishes:
The hamachi karma (grilled yellowtail) is over-expectation! The fish texture is so good and get along well with ponsu sauce.
Avocado salad is always my fav. The dressing is phenomenon. Not too sweet. It's such a refreshing dish.
Dragon roll is larger than I expected. It's soft outside but crunchy inside! Such a yummy and fun dish.
F-yeah! The food is amazing, staff and service, amazing! The owner, Art, super nice! I recommend the Thai Tea, the dumplings, the crispy Brussels sprouts, and seaweed salad! I got the lemon grass chicken and my husband got the chicken panang curry and we shared a sweet potato roll.
Like their crab Rangoon and basil chicken fried rice
Very good food and quick service. Great for takeout
This place is clearly a takeout restaurant. Service isn't up to par with the food. That being said, it's my favorite Thai takeout restaurant in the area!
Food is great! Had the chicken satay and calamari to start. For the satay, peanut sauce was great and the meat juicy and tender! Calamari had a unique tasty batter and cooked to perfection with even better presentation! Had the Sushi Bomb Roll and the White Dragon roll to finish. Rolls were huge and filling. Final point, to bring it all home....it was all reasonably priced! Not cheap but, a fair price for good food. I really cannot recommend this place strongly enough for you Japanese/Thai food enthusiasts!
The duck noodle soup is the best I had this year!
Quite honestly, this is about as good as you can expect without paying 3x as much.
The food tastes amazing, comes quickly, in such large portions that I sometimes can't even finish leftovers.
The owner and staff are very serious about being professional. If there is an issue with your food, they solve it, period. If there's an issue with a drink, also solved...
I have also seen them tolerate faaaaar more abuse than I would without yelling at a customer. All while serving some delicious food. They even serve this white boy a 5 of 5 thia spicy when he wants to bring on the pain.
10 of 10.
I give this place 10 out of 10.
We enjoyed every bite!
Absolutely yummy quality food!
Always a great experience at Sweet Rice!!
One hour waiting because they put my order to the side to take care of the costumers!but they forgot I’m a costumer too 🤬🤬🤬😡😡🤬🤬plus I use to bring business here and they complained tht I was taking a lot orders (so now I take no more orders from here ever again)have a nice day stop hate.and be more professional(I do not recommend to come here and support who doesn’t support delivery drivers
good little place. the service was quick. food was delicious.
Wonderful Thai & Japanese food. Fresh, flavorful & beautifully presented. I used to live in Brookline which has multiple Asian restaurants. This restaurant matches them all. 5 Star!
We've been eating their food for years. Pros: excellent food; nice people. Cons: unfortunately, they've raised their prices an enormous amount in the last year. I compared their menu from a year ago to today's prices: they're up by between 25 and 33% -- in just one year! Also, they've reduced their portion size on some items: you pay $8.00 for gyoza, and only get five of them. Conclusion: I know all restaurants face big supply chain price increases, but in my opinion, these guys have gone up more than most. We still eat there, but not as often as we used to, due to the price increases. They're no longer a conventionally-priced alternative: they're a pretty expensive one. Buyer beware.
Portion small
🥢💬good food but bad service-
💁🏻♀️Would I revisit here? : No - first chicken wing was undercooked. I had to return. The second one was overcooked. The service here is pretty awful. The servers are extremely slow and they would not provide any utensils including serving spoons.
Food is fantastic and prices are reasonable
Delicious! Thai chicken wings are incredible. Good choice to sit and relax with a friend or two!
Great service and food.
Excellent Thai and great service
Got uber eats, it was delish
Do you want to experience what dreams are made of? Are you looking to eat a scallion pancake that is so good that you forget all of your problems? Look no further! Fr fr this place is 🔥
I like their food so I often order from them. It's not amazing but it's good enough for 4 stars definitely. However, my little brother loves rice, so he always gets a bunch of rice. The last two times, the rice looked fine but it tasted like there was some sauce on it. Both times he told me, and both times I tasted it and agreed. I can only assume that they use spoons from other dishes to serve their rice. For us it was just disliking the taste, but for anyone with an allergy, they could easily assume that the rice would be fine, and then it could become a severe health issue.
Very good will definitely be back.
Spider Sushi rolls are suppose to be a WHOLE soft shelled blue crab. what I received is 1 or maybe 2 legs.. THIS IS NOT A SPIDER ROLL!
Aaww man!!!....first time at this restaurant and OMG!!!.... It was all of the chain. Friendly people, good food, great drinks, just a blast, highly recommended.
Ordered pad thai, nowhere on their website or menu did they mention anything about their use of fish sauce so I didn't think to mention that I can't have it. They refused to refund me and basically said 'no restaurant would disclose sauce ingredients or refund something for this,' which is untrue. They offered to make it fresh without the sauce, but they refused to deliver it, insisting I would have to pick it up. Not worth it.
I tried it anyway. Obscenely over-priced, flavorless food, with pieces and portions, so tiny, that it would not feed a small child. Luke warm, almost cold soup. More like broth and seaweed.
I consider it a crime. Theft.
Go elsewhere. We did, to get some food, as soon as we left disgusted. Lots of same bad reviews here, going back 6 years, so clearly they still don't care. I tried anyway.
Fake photos.
Great food!!
I had special instructions for my pad thai and they followed it so well. It was so delicious! The crab rangoons are also so good. I would go back and try other meals!!
Solid spot for Asian food in Charlestown pad Thai is worthy for sure.
Affordable prices. Friendly staff
This was delicious sushi.
Best Basil fried rice and avocado in town
TUESDAY FEB 8. 2021. A Japanese restaurant that doesn’t have a sushi man!!! It was a mess huge lame. Employee seemed lost. Never coming back
Sushi bomb roll was remarkable. The fried gyoza was good too. The only thing I didn’t dig was the drunken noodles but that’s a personal problem. The crispy chicken on the noodles was incredible. Will eat again
Honestly kinda mediocre Thai food, but there isn't another place close
Chicken basil fried rice is super tasty and super spicy! I like spicy food but next time I'll make it mild. Their drunken noodle is also very good.
Excellent food, fast and friendly service
First visit here, the edamame and Drunken Noodles were delicious, service was prompt and accurate, the food was served quickly and the price was quite reasonable. Definitely recommend!
So incredibly consistent, quick turnaround time and a great value. I love having this down the street, and that there is such a variety to choose from. Our favorites are the curry and the drunken noodles, but we order different stuff from here about once a week. You guys are the best!!
Amazing authentic Thai place. I did not try the sushi so I cannot really speak on this (yet). You will love how it is a relatively low key neighborhood restaurant atmosphere with exceptional tastes from across the globe. I highly recommend the green curry - ask them for the high spicy level (just tell them you want it authentic Thai spicy) and your taste buds will be celebrating. The pad Thai is also exceptional.
Delicious. I got the shrimp mango salad and it was very flavorful. For $12.95 I got 5 or 6 shrimp on a bed of iceburg lettuce. On the side there were noodles in a sweet, spicy, vinegary sauce. There was no mango, though, but I ordered quickly as I arrived at about 5 minutes before closing, which was 3pm on a Tuesday. The title of the salad was misleading but perhaps the description would have clarified things. Nevertheless, I was not disappointed because the food packed a punch. I saw a bunch of things I'd like to try so I will go back when I can dine in. Check out this place if you like flavorful food. It might be a hidden gem.
Sweet little Thai food place close to bunker hill.
great food
Very delicious sushi!
The perfect casual Thai restaurant. This place has great sushi and great Thai food. The staff is fast and efficient. I don't eat chick but I love tofu. They kindly made the lemongrass chicken with tofu and it was awesome. Portions are just the right size and flavors are on point. Nothing is lacking with this place. It's one of the best.
The food is excellent. Highly recommend the Thai food. 10/10.
The food and service is very good the atmosphere in the resturant is very suttle and inviting but the food is absoutly scrumptious recomend to all ur friends
My favorite pad Thai
Supet
Tuna tataki is great and the best pork gyoza I have ever had!
Sushi was very fresh and perfect. Lunch was take out only and they couldn't sell me any sake.
Have eaten at Sweet Rice in the past and ordered out last weekend. The Sushi is very excellent.
So bad 🥘 because i am sick 😷
This place has the slowest service that I ever had.. If you want something by 9 better order by 6.
Delicious duck
Boa experiência
100% always hits the spot
Good fast and fairly priced!! I love this place
A good place for thai food, however chef could stand to remove some fatty pieces off the cut.
Excellent food, great service.
Great Thai and Sushi - both menus worth a try!
Absolutely delicious. Accommodating to my special request! Quick and efficient delivery. Thanks guys.
Buen ambiente
