Excellent service, food was fresh and hot. Restroom was clean. The only thing I didn't pay attention to is the automatic 20% charge that's added for a larger group. Ended up tipping quite a bit more than was going to. Lesson learned. Overall, a good place to grab drinks and appetizers after a movie.

Diner Review №5

So when we first walked in the atmosphere was very nice. We ordered appetizers three appetizers but every single server or person from the restaurant that came to our table because we requested something acted like we were bothering them or they didn’t really wanna wait on us. They just wanted to have us finish our food and get out. The appetizers were excellent as I said before, but the main course really wasn’t all that good they were kind of dry but the attitude alone really bothered us. It was a privilege to be in your establishment and then you have the audacity to automatically add 20% on to the bill so I guess since 20% is already added, you don’t care how you act towards your customers it’s pretty shameful really not that will make her break you but it’s all about being nice and polite and respectful not one time. Did I see any of our servers smile or enjoy what they were doing? I really feel bad for them. We will definitely find another place next time.

Diner Review №6

Underwhelming and overpriced. I ordered a curry for lunch, which in most places is between $13 and $18 (if there's no lunch
special). By the time I paid DoorDash ($25 for food, $7 delivery/tip) and the recommended tip which was not excessive it cost me $32 to have a curry that didn't have any vegetables in it aside from maybe two pieces of carrot. I'm usually not very picky but this was disappointing as heck

Diner Review №7

The best thai food I've ever had. Try the pork Basil, curry puffs Ka-pow fried and the Lychee iced tea( very sweet). Being that it's Thai food, most dishes are super spicy & hot but you can ask to make it less spicy or not spicy at. But by doing that, you miss out on it being genuine Thai food. I live in Baltimore and drive all the way to Laurel just for this place. Please try if you haven't yet!

Diner Review №8

I’ve gone twice. The first time I was pleasantly happy with our waitress who was able to guide me on which menu items were truly vegan. The second time, different waitress, I repeated to her several times that I am vegan and asked which dishes I could eat.
She pointed out way more dishes than the first waitress did. Which let me know she thought just the absence of meat meant the dishes was vegan.
Ordered the eggplant entree with veggies and tofu. Reminded her to make sure the chef knows I’m vegan.
Dish comes out in a large bowl in a red sauce. I took one spoon and smelled/tasted seafood. Asked her to confirm with the chef what type of sauce this was… and it was oyster sauce. I was so upset. What’s worse was her response…. I should’ve told her which sauce I wanted. I just ate the spring rolls and who knows if those were truly vegan. Was so hungry but couldn’t trust them. Complained to the manger and no accommodations were made.
Never going back.

Food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. Service was nice, little pricey but worth the experience. I would suggest you ask the servers about the best chef specials that appeal to you

Really lovely restaurant! The interior is pretty and modern. The food was pretty good! I tried the crybaby noodles and they were tasty. They have a lot of fancy cocktails which I didn’t try but will go back for next time. This place would be a nice date night!

This was actually my first time having Thai food and I was utterly impressed. I don’t have any pictures because I enjoyed the moments given to me, but I got the veggie green curry!

The food was extremely flavorful, had just the right amount of spice and I’m a fan of coconut milk, so it had a nice creamy texture to it.

My friend had the vegetable fried rice and I must say that it was some of the best tasting vegetable fried rice I’ve ever had.

I literally never been so disrespected after working 12hr shift this was Dinner from HELL. Right before i left my tip on the table the server who was trying to clean the table whole time me and sisters ate.I asked for a bag and she Yelled “ No ! After you don’t tip!” All of our mouths dropped in shock. We all put our cash away immediately. We were only black people eating still there. The Asian people eating were not harassed while eating. To the extent we were eating in the Togo containers while the Asian group of people who got food the same time were eating in plates. This was degrading. Overall I will not be coming back. To the extent as we left the waitress was yelling and pointing at us from the window as we were outside. How inhumane. Waitressing tips are important but not an obligation. Imagine if this is how your loved one was treated . This experience will take away from however great the food tasted . 0/5.

Diner Review №29

A beautiful restaurant with amazing flavorful food options. I ordered the duck green curry and my husband ordered the pad Thai. Service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend it.

Diner Review №30

The service was great but unfortunately for me the tom yum soup was underwhelming. Id give them another chance maybe. But it was disappointing since the location was out of my way. Not enough veggie variety. And the broth wasn't as tom yum like as I'm used to

This is one of my favorite Thai spots in the area. They have amazing spring rolls with spicy Thai sauce. But my absolute favorite is their chick pad ka pow. In addition, their Thai iced tea is to die for. It's black tea, mixed with half and half cream and some other wonderful concoction that makes your mouth buds sing in harmony. Lastly, for dessert, I get their mango sticky rice. This sounds weird - who eats rice with mango for dessert? It consists of white sticky rice, cut-up mango sliced on top of the sticky rice with a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Lastly, they dose the rice and fruit in condensed milk. This dessert with change your life!

Met my son here, and ordered the drunken noodles with seafood, which was pleasant. The service was standard and the atmosphere is excellent.

Diner Review №35

The atmosphere was fantastic, creating a welcoming vibe that enhanced my dining experience. I tried the Thai chicken soup with Thai rice, and it was surprisingly delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, making it a memorable meal. Highly recommend!

Diner Review №36

Service is badly, a lady wear a sunglasses and not welcome.

Diner Review №45

Great Thai spot with unique options not found at other eateries.
From Duck to Shrimp to Curry, the food is delicious and well prepared.
Service is fast and atmosphere minus the weird cowboy music is inviting.

Diner Review №46

They charged my card twice the last few times ive went. Always keep a copy of your receipt if you pay with card! Food is usually good. Be careful with anything with a pepper sign next to it. They are not consistent with the amount. Sometimes it's inedible sometimes a great amount of spice.

Very tasty versions of Pad Thai available!

I’ve been going here for a few years and I really enjoy their pad thai. I also enjoyed their papaya salad and “healthy rolls” appetizer. For a deviation from the normal pad Thai, try the chef’s recommended “Thai at Pad Thai” for a less tangy roast pork pad Thai!

Despite not many people there, our server took their time to take our order, but still greeted us with a smile and checked up on us a few times.

I will be back again, maybe to try the curry’s and other chef specialties!

Diner Review №53

FRIED RICE WITH CRAB MEAT. SOOOOOOO GOOD.

Diner Review №54

Good food. Drinks are good too but the bar is so overwhelmed, they need more staff.

Diner Review №55

0+The menu offers quite a few tasty vegetarian options. The vegetarian spring rolls are consistently not good. Our experience has been either too dry, overpriced, or scanty vegetables inside. The other vegetarian food has authentic flavor and is cooked just right.

Had the duck rolls and a sticky sweet rice with mango. The dessert was great, the duck rolls had too much BBQ sauce for my taste. The atmosphere and staff were nice.

Diner Review №67

My family loved everything we ordered! Tofu panang, Thai at pad Thai (I think that is what it was called, a spicier pad Thai variation), fried rice, and mango ice cream for dessert. Our server was so sweet to our toddler and we really enjoyed our meal! It might be nice to have kid-sized portions as an option but...we will be enjoying leftovers :)

Diner Review №68

Food was great. A little pricey. Did pick up and thr food was hot and ready when I arrived.

Diner Review №69

If you are someone that value dignity and respect, this is not the restaurant for you. Your hard earned money deserves to be spent in places where you are valued and respected. The manager is a stain to the business because she does not know how to address customers.

Diner Review №70

Not impressed. Food was just blah. The waitress was not friendly. No need for me to come back.

Diner Review №76

The food here is really good. However they seem incapable of handling take out orders. Nearly every time we order from here they either miss something from the order or give us the wrong item. They’ll read back the correct item on the phone and then when we pick up the order there will be something different (such as asking for Panang curry and getting yellow curry) or the order is missing items (like not getting our order of fried rice or out of 4 pad Thai orders they missed one). It’s a shame because it is really delicious but I don’t like having to gamble every time we go here since we never know what we’re going to actually get.

Diner Review №80

Don’t miss out! Fantastic service and food! The staff is so kind and the decor is beautiful.

Diner Review №81

This place is the most ridiculous business I have seen in today's world. The first thing that they say to you when you enter is "our credit card machine is not working "... what bad service? In today's world who is carrying cash around? Like seriously? This is not the first time this business has done this to me but this time I decided to stand up to them....I asked them to have it fixed. If they are trying to be cheap enough not to pay credit fees whilst running a business, that's not my problem...and thus patronizing them will be a mistake OR If they are then trying to profile me black people and demand that we pay cash as compared to other races...then they ll have to face the consequences of that action because I know that a few minutes after I left a friend of mine who is not black went there and got none of the credit card is not working by.
. They paid with card....
Folks be careful of these type of business that pick and choose who they want to serve and why...

Diner Review №82

Me and my family had an amazing experience. Our server Nid was absolutely phenomenal she made our experience special. Not once did we feel neglected.

Diner Review №83

The food here is always sooo good. Mango Tilapia is a fave as are the drunken noodles. Right level of spice for us.

Diner Review №84

Diner Review №85

Such delicious noodles and milk tea, also amazing service. You can also substitute the meat in a lot of dishes for tofu which is great for vegetarians.

Diner Review №86

Food was good, I had the seafood volcano, and it was pretty good.

Diner Review №87

FIRST time and LAST eating here, prices not match the poor quality of the vegetables. They want me to believe that Chinese broccoli looks like that, then the sauce made the vegetable dark, I know the difference between OLD VEGETABLES mixed with sauce.
And food was too salty for me.
Please don serve old veggies and food.

Diner Review №88

Food was good, excelent thai food, service was ok.

Diner Review №89

Diner Review №90

Main takeaway: If you are a black customer DO NOT come to this location.

Me and a few of my friends decided to go to this location to celebrate a birthday. The atmosphere was nice and overall the food was okay. Service was fine at first, until someone in my party was not satisfied with their chicken satay (rightfully so). It was extremely dry and unappetizing. She asked the server, Nat, to get a different dish and Nat complied. After we received the new dish, Nat refused to keep serving us. It look almost 30 minute before another server came in checked in with us. Nat continued to ignore our table and refused to help in any capacity that dealt with our table. She given refused to give the other server details about our check. They had to ask us about it.

I was deeply displeased by the service and the manger remained complacent and offed a mediocre apology. It was a very confusing and disappointing experience as there seemed to be no apparent reason Nat decided to stop serving us. If you are a black diner I high suggest going to get Thai elsewhere specially if you are planning to dine in.

Diner Review №91

Service was excellent. Food was prepared quickly. Was delicious. Thought prices were a little high until we saw the quantity of food. Had enough for 3-4 big servings of each! Will return.

Diner Review №92

Cute chic Thai place with flares of regal elegance. Very nice compared to average Asian restaurants! Will be returning.

Diner Review №98

All three of us enjoyed our dinners. Our daughter had Tofu Pad Thai, my husband pineapple fried rice and I enjoyed whole fried Bronzini.

Diner Review №99

Lovely space. There are always seats available to dine in. Never need a reservation. Service sometimes is slow.

The Spicy Tilapia is really good. However, the batter takes up most of the fish.

Diner Review №100

awesome service, I had a pick order., did not dinn in

Diner Review №101

Love Thai food here. Have gone here several times with friends. I usually get the chicken pad Thai.

Diner Review №102

Diner Review №103

I received a gift card to here and decided to try the crab fried rice. It was the best fried rice I’ve ever had. It was very moist and flavorful and had large chunks of crab meat. It was a big portion for only $22. I highly recommend it and will be back.

Update: The Street Noodles are good too.

Diner Review №104

The service was great; however we felt rushed we ordered appetizers and drinks and wanted to time enjoy the appetizers, we also asked to give us 15 mind between to come back and place an order; we were still asked if we planned to order anything else. Being overly attentive is always better than not being attentive at all. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer, and it was the equivalent of average. I wasn't thinking of just rings from the description. For drinks, chitin, the flavor was average, and the Mai Tai was great. For entre, I ordered drunken noodles with shrimp; it was better the next day and ( can't remember the, but it was some type of chicken with fried rice; the meal was a 7.5 out of 10 for my friend. I don't eat chicken, but I tried the fried rice, and it was flavorful.

Diner Review №105

Diner Review №106

Just ok. Overpriced. 20-25.00 entrees and tiny 10.00 apps don't feel worth it.

Diner Review №107

Diner Review №108

The food was good. I ordered green curry with pork to go and returned after the movies to sit down and eat. When I went back, I only ordered the Bangkok wings. They were okay. They tasted like wings from the Chinese carryout. The inside is clean. Staff were nice. Plenty of parking. The prices are reasonable. My friend had the wings, lamb two dish, and the purple and yellow lemonade. Cannot remember the name of it. She said it was very tasty- she had 2.

Diner Review №109

Go to spot for Thai food. Always a good pickup experience

Diner Review №110

Thai at Laurel is honestly one of the best restaurants in the Laurel vicinity. We don't have a ton of great authentic East or Southeast Asian restaurants in this area compared to some other parts of the DC suburbs like Rockville and Wheaton, but thankfully Thai at Laurel makes up for it somewhat by being a consistent delight. I order from here pretty much weekly and with good reason: there's a great variety of different dishes to keep things interesting and the quality is always worth what you pay for. They have almost never made a mistake with my food which is actually quite surprising given how often I order from them while I feel like a lot of other restaurants have a lot higher counts of mistakes.

There are quite a number of food options available at Thai at Laurel. Most entrees you can pick your choice of protein including chicken, pork, steak, tofu, and some seafood options (or opt for just vegetables). You can also pick spice levels and they definitely deliver the spice! Even as someone who very much loves spicy food, I don't think I've been tempted to go above "spicy" to their "Thai spicy" level. They also offer brown rice for a small upcharge, helpful for people like me who might want more fiber in their diets.

Some of my favorite dishes have included their Thai at Pad Thai which is a delicious variety of the classic Pad Thai (this one featuring roasted pork, Chinese broccoli, and a spicy sweet sauce), as well as various Thai classics such as green curry, drunken noodle, Pad Si Ew, and their spicy eggplant stir-fry. I will say that I do think that the Thai iced tea and bubble tea drinks are a little more expensive than I think they should be for what you get, but I still enjoy them nonetheless.

To top things off, you can order directly from their website and get delivery or takeout without having to pay extra for some company like Doordash or Grubhub to get its own cut. I always appreciate that kind of option and their direct delivery is often way sooner than I expect. I can’t speak to their dine-in experience but their delivery is definitely 5 stars on its own.

This is probably the best Thai place in Maryland. Everytime I'm near laurel even if I am not hungry I purchase a meal! It is always clean. It is always good. I haven't tried anything here that isn't good. Try the masamaam curry and the crispy fish. OMG!

Horrible service and women’s restroom smelled like sewage and feces! The waitress had an attitude and did not explain the menu well and was very mean. She spoke with a condescending tone and had poor customer service skills. I informed the Manager, asked for my bill, and left.

I definitely would NOT recommend this restaurant to my friends or family.

Diner Review №116

Updated 11/23: Thai At Laurel is a fantastic Thai restaurant. The seafood pad Thai, yellow curry, and drunken noodles are my favorites. You won't be disappointed.

They are more interested in online orders. Service with no table ware, unprofessional service . Two members taking orders and had to wait for table ware for 15 minutes .

The waitress who served us was very rude! Didn’t even smile and was always in a rush. We went there to celebrate my aunt’s birthday. When we ask if they have a candle to put on the desert we ordered, she abruptly said impolitely; “No, we don’t do birthdays here!”. But when my wife ask another waitress who was younger and friendlier from another table, she was like; “Ok, no problem i got you!” She immediately got a candle and a neon birthday board for my aunt.

Will not be ordering from here again.

Diner Review №154

Wow. Wow. Wow. The restaurant is beautiful. The service is perfect. The food is well made. If your going to spend 20$ on food do not go to any corporate chain or sad restaurant.

This place will make you happy.

The food is prepared by an actual chef.

I began with the *healthy rolls* of course they were delicious but they came out in an instant. I was surprised.

The server suggested the crispy duck because I couldn't decide between it and the duck soup. (I will be back for duck soup) the sauce was rich and spicy (not too spicy, but you can ask for extra 🔥🔥🔥🔥) I was pleased with the level of spice it's very mild (for me) but delicious.

As a chef I find it hard to find good food that I enjoy and even more difficult to find good service.

Don't worry about that here. Just bring your wallet and you won't regret it. And tip these people well because they're a family joint. It's not going to some millionaire's pocket.

They do a good job and deserve good money.

I'm very happy, and I'm leaving with bba coffee. ☕.

Life is good at "Thai at Laurel "

What's normally a wonderful meal has missed the mark this time. The Kapow fried rice with chicken lacked flavor and was dry. The serving size also seems smaller than the dine in version. I had a wonderful experience when I dined in on July 3rd. The food was flavorful, hot, and tasty. For now I will be putting this restaurant on pause. It's too expensive to take a gamble right now.

I enjoy the food, but the wait staff is a bit inattentive. We never received a booster seat for my toddler, although I asked. Also, the waiter did not ask us if we wanted a refill on any of our drinks, including the water.

We ate dinner here after our movie. The host alerted us and gained our agreement that they would close the kitchen in an hour and that there was an automatic 18% gratuity. We were also encouraged to make our selections quickly. Fine by me. I was hungry and have been here before. I think restaurants should be a little cautious about the tone they set from the start. I appreciate being warned about the gratuity but the rest of the speech seemed a little cold. Some customers may as easily turn around and walk out with the feeling that their patronage is not appreciated.
The service was excellent so I gave more money on top of the 18%. The server repeated back our order, it came out 100% correctly, including the to go dish timed perfectly. Drinks were refilled and they made sure we had what we needed.
Don’t be turned off by the rules. Go ahead in and enjoy great service and delicious food. We had Street Noodles, various fried rices, and Ka Pow on rice. It was great.

First time at this location and I wasn’t impressed. Much smaller than the other location in Waugh Chapel. Haven’t had Thai food in a while so my son decided to take us out for a nice meal. We were seated promptly which was great. Water was cold and refreshing. Jacketed shrimp appetizer was good. My son liked his meal…unfortunately I didn’t care for mine. I ordered sesame ginger beef. It was more like sesame ginger pot roast. I’ve gotten this dish in the past from the other location and the meat used to be thinly sliced. The meal today was not served hot (by heat), there were huge pieces of beef, the majority of them were fatty. I really am not a fan of sending food back or complaining for fear of someone doing something to my food, so I pushed through. I ate some of the smaller pieces of beef but I couldn’t eat the larger pieces. I asked for fried rice vs white rice. I asked if it had egg in it and was told it did. I asked them to make it spicy and they did but it didn’t have egg (which is what I wanted). The fried rice didn’t have much flavor other than the spice. On a side note, the bathroom was clean and smelled nice but there’s no signage to let you know where it is…it was in small, poorly lit-cluttered hall. I am giving 2 stars for the jacketed shrimp and my son’s meal but I had to take some stars off for my meal.

BEWARE of patronizing this establishment!

I typically do not leave reviews for poor service; however, the declining and poor quality of service at this establishment should be known. Take a look at the recent reviews about poor service and/or racism to see for yourself.

After receiving my food, I let it be known that my food had a rancid taste, then I was met with a condescending and racist response.

No paying customer should ever be treated like that. I will be sure to never patronize this establishment as a result of my experience and will let all my family and friends know to do the same. Please do yourself a favor and support businesses who provide excellent service for all and value their customers.

My experience here was disappointing to say the least. We went here hoping for great Thai food with my young daughter. Knowing she wouldn't eat Thai food, I brought food for her to eat so that we could all eat as a family. We were told "sorry, no outside food here but you can order and take it to go". How do you think that worked out??? It didn't. We discussed our case but they stood firm on their "no outside food" policy. We politely left but were still craving Thai so about a week or two later, we ordered Thai to go from this establishment. The food was not worth returning for. I'm not sure if it's the dish that we ordered or if it's just not a great place to eat. Perhaps our first experience just left us with a bad taste in our mouths (pun intended). Anyway, eat here with minimal expectations.

I’ve never been disappointed here. The crispy duck with Basil Leaves and Volcano Seafood were both delicious.

Great food and a good happy hour but, the bar is small for happy hour prices.

We had 3 dishes, they felt like too many different flavors yet nothing satisfying. Each dish didn’t have a unique taste to represent themselves. Feels like everything was just mixed up with too many ingredients and the taste was ruined.

Ate here the other night, got chicken pad thai and ended up with the worst food poisoning i've ever had. Never again.

Found this place on tiktok and grabbed some lunch to go! While I waited for my to-go order, I ordered the lychee martini. Possibly one of the best martini’s I ever had and I appreciated the fruit accompaniment to finish it off! On the inside, the decor is lovely and gives off a great vibe for a date night or girls/boys night out!

The street noodles were recommended from the video I saw and they didn’t disappoint. They were a little dry and stuck together after traveling. In the dine-in video, they looked more loose and saucy but was still delicious once warmed up. It also has a kick to it if you like spicy food!

The rolls were decent and the sauce that came with it was good. Not sure if I’d order it again but it wasn’t bad at all.

The thai iced tea was the most balanced and flavorful I’ve ever had!
