Thai Lake Charles is an unpretentious place to go for delicious Thai food. It is clean and tastefully decorated in a minimalist way, and the people are welcoming and helpful. You order at the counter & pick up your eating utensils and napkins there. They bring your food to your table (& their cooks are on top of it). We've tried the green and the yellow curry soups (medium spice) and they are SO GOOD! Like, I am craving them today even though my husband & I both had appetizer portions for the past 3 days from purchasing a single bowl of each! In our two visits, we have liked everything we've chosen. Medium spice has us a bit sniffly, but in a good way!
Oh, the first time we visited, we didn't notice, but last week my husband saw that there is a place for dishes to go (though they don't require it or even point it out). There are nice to-go containers on the counter for packing up leftovers. And the food was just as good (soups may have been better) on days 2 & 3. So happy to have discovered this place!

Will definitely come back the next time I’m in Lake Charles!

Everything I’ve tried is always prepared with excellence, care, and seasoned beautifully. The spices they use in their food come straight from their own garden - literally doesn’t get any fresher than that!

The food was very good. Fresh ingredients and friendly staff. I ordered Pad Thai both times that we went. However, the second visit, I ordered beef and the beef was so tender and not rubbery. My husband ordered a dish with glass noodles and a curry dish and he enjoyed them both. We also had the coconut shrimp. It was perfectly crisp and not rubbery or an overwhelming coconut flavor. My husband ordered Jasmine tea and Thai tea and both were really good. The food came out so quickly and the customer service is top notch. We were in town only for the weekend and we both days. Once we come back into town, we will be back.

The owners are so friendly and the service was exceptional. Pad thai was the perfect blend of savory, sweet and spicy. Thai beef salad was fresh, loaded with lime and fish sauce, and unbelievably delicious. We got the fresh spring roles and hands down the best I've ever had. We've eaten at Thai restaraunts all over the US and this one is by far one of our favorites.

Thai Lake Charles is 5 stars, from the fresh delicious food, to the cleanliness of the restaurant. I am on a quest to try everything on the menu 😊. The owners are so nice and work really hard, I witness this every time I come, it’s my favorite restaurant in town!

This is one of the best casual Thai Places I’ve eaten and I always seek out Thai whenever I’m traveling! LC is lucky to have them. If you’re unsure of what to order, definitely get the Pad Khi Mao.

I ran across this gem today. I love Thai food and I had no idea this restaurant had opened in my area (apparently last year), so I decided to give it a try today. I am amazed!! Everything I ordered: Thai egg rolls, spring rolls, massaman curry, potak soup, and pad se ew were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! This place is AMAZING! The staff were super nice and friendly as well. I am a forever customer and will eat here at the very least once a week. I wish I would have taken photos to post but that is how quickly it was eaten by me and my family, there is nothing left lol

Hubby and I tried Thai LC for the first time today and will definitely be going back! I got the yellow curry w chicken, mildly spicy. This was my first time to have curry and I can honestly say I’m so glad I chose it. I’m critical about my meals and the flavors here were super. The curry had an underlying sweetness from the pineapple and coconut milk combined w a gentle kick from the crushed red peppers. The potatoes, carrots and onion were done just through. The bowl was loaded w a delicious sauce and chicken pieces as well. It came w white rice on the side. It was steaming hot off the stove.

The restaurant is neat and clean. The guy who took our order was knowledgeable about all the dishes and the lady who brought my meal helped cook it! It a family owned restaurant and I give it 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

They are very sweet people and amazing cooks. I literally LOVE everything they make. I have gotten all their soups super delicious and the red curry and green and LOVED both. Their fresh spring are super delicious as well.

Did not enjoy the cafeteria plates, very uncomfortable chairs, I have the soup and curry bases at home to make the same thing for way less than the 65 bucks we spent. My tom ka was curdled. Pad Thai was decent. I expected more for the price point. All in all, meh.

The food was great just wasn't fresh out ...we had to wait until we made it home. We wanted to sit and eat but it was incredibly hot outside and inside. I saw the thermostat and it was set on 86. We ended up ordering to go since there was no way we could stay with the heat and breathing issues. Sad to know it won't be a regular stop while in town to have a quick meal .

Good to have Thai food here in LC but pretty much just ok. Thai spring rolls were empty with little flavor. Pad Thai just noodles & light on meat & needed more green onions, basil cilantro or anything green. Stir fry serving large but again light on flavor.

Came here a few months ago when it opened and it was delicious. Very excited to have Thai food in Lake Charles. Ordered some take out today and whatever it was it wasn't thai. Flavor color and consistency off on every dish. I've had Thai food all around the world and I'm disappointed. I'm hoping this was just a fluke and I am going to try again. 2 hr drive to Houston for Thai food is too far.

Great food! Dine in-take out or drive-through express pick up for phone order. Nice clean place. Inside order at the front and pay first. They bring food to you at the table for fine in. Excellent!

this place was super good.. i went through the drive thru and ordered a number #28 mild, was ready in about 10 minutes. had a great rich flavor and the chicken was perfect. will probably try it spicy next time, but mild was for sure good. definitely give this place a try, from my experience i liked this way better than the place in the mall, no comparison

Full priced food, and yet you still have to wait on yourself....not a fan of this new fad of restaurants charging the same and expecting guests to do all the work. Pad Thai was amazing! Red curry was good on spice but surprisingly weak on flavor. Too much baby corn and not enough bamboo shoots for a red curry imo.

I already came to leave this review and upon doing so noticed a poor review left about there being "no service and it being served in plastic" as a negative thing. This business was **abundantly clear** that at that time they were NOT doing dine in service, only to-go orders. Despite this, they'd still let you eat in there if you chose. You just wouldnt have service. These seems like a POSITIVE thing to me. Only doing to-go orders but still letting people eat on the spot if they need to? Seems kind.

Best I've had in many many years! I will be a repeat customer for a long time! The service is on point. Restaurant is very clean and the food was very fresh. We were a party of 6 and the food came out on time and together.Prices are reasonable so you can try things without killing the budget.

I absolutely love Thai food and Thai of Lake Charkes does not disappoint. I have had several dishes and all were so tasty. I find myself going back at least once a week. I like the casualness for lunch, but wish it was a more formal sit down type of dinner with a waitress for dinner dates.

I had a wonderful experience. I ordered the red curry and the mango sticky rice. Both were very good with large portion size. Customer service was great and the place was very clean.

We love Thai Lake Charles! My family has tried a good variety and everything is absolutely delicious. Jet has great energy, we love trying his recommendations and experiencing all the flavors.

I loved the food. Everything was freshly made, and we ordered 4 different plates. The orange chicken was really good, but a little too sweet. Chicken curry was amazing.

The location is clean and friendly inside. The employee greeted us. Provided us drinks and offered us cups with ice. After ordering the service was quick. The food was presentable and delicious. I got the Pad Thai. It was missing that extra something… that makes it different. However I did order mild. So next time I’ll try medium and see if that’s it. We also ordered the number 42. It was absolutely amazing! The noddles are great. The appetizers are delicious. Definitely a must try stop.

Pas très accueillant et empathique comme entrée en matière. Une fois la nourriture choisie et servi dans des couverts jettables on se cale sur une table. Pas de service à table (pas de service tout court en fait). Il manquait le riz à mon pad thai pourtant indiqué inclus sur le menu et j’ai du insisté pour l’avoir. La nourriture est pas dingue pour le prix, les nouilles étaient beaucoup trop cuites dans mon cas. La soupe de mon ami clairement trop salée et épicée. Bref cuisine originale et nouvelle sur Lake Charles car pas de véritable concurrence mais décevante à nos yeux au rapport qualité prix service mauvais. A ressayer peut être dans qq mois mais déception pour l’instant.

So glad we finally have a decent Thai restaurant in town. I had the pleasure of trying their Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. While both dishes were enjoyable with a good balance of flavors, they lacked the distinctive wok hei flavor the sets apart great Thai restaurants. Nevertheless, the quality of ingredients and preparation were evident, and I appreciated the freshness of the ingredients. The only other minor critique would be that the "hot" spice level I opted for was much milder than expected, so I plan to go for the "Thai hot" level next time to really kick up the heat. Overall, Thai Lake Charles is a promising addition to the local dining scene, and I look forward to exploring more of their menu in the future.

FINALLY some SPICE!! If I sound overly excited, it's because I am. I've tried several versions of Pad Thai in the area and while most were bland others were ok, this restaurant wins BIG TIME. Spice levels come on a scale of 1-3, and they are not afraid to give you the burn if you ask for a 3. 😋 Loved it, my eyes were even watering a little towards the end, excited to try what else they have on the menu. Definitely recommend!

Food was amazing. My family and I got pad Thai, pad see ew, crab rangoon, Tom kha soup, and the Thai beef salad. All super fresh and delicious. The Thai tea was also really good. We got everything between mild and medium spice.

Came in during the "soft opening" time. Really good food, super nice and very quick service. The "hot" could've been hotter, but I'll order Thai Hot next time.
