I called to make reservation for my anniversary 3 weeks in advance and they were booked. I got on the wait list just in case our date opened and got lucky! They have the most amazing food, the staff is so kind, the service is so personalized and they even had flowers with an anniversary card waiting! If there was ever a place I’d give a 10 star rating it’s Jong’s. The welcome you receive, the service and care, the amazing delicious food, and the sweet quaint atmosphere makes this restaurant top on my list of places to eat in Topeka. Jong’s Thai Kitchen is hands down the best Thai restaurant in Topeka, KS. This family owned business is a definite asset to our community! The food is delicious and high quality. They use very fresh ingredients in all categories, meat, tofu, vegetables and fruits. I am partial to their Pad Thai or Thai Peanut Salad but everyone in my family is addicted to their Garlic Chicken in various degrees of spicy. One family member loves their Thai Hot spice level and you can visibly see him sweat when he eats it. The Crab Delights, Fresh Garden Rolls, Crispy Potstickers and Steamed Dumplings are crave worthy. I also love their Tom Kha soup. Well spiced and complex in structure. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu…..

The best Thai food in Topeka! All of the employees are so kind and the food is even better! Our food is always ready within 10-15 minutes when we order take out, sometimes even sooner. 10/10 would recommend!

If I could give more stars to service I would. We came in not realizing that reservations had been made for all the tables. We made a reservation for the next available dinner spot. As my partner and I were deciding if we wanted takeout or not (we were offered a free drink just for coming that way, which we declined) then a table became open and we were seated. We got our drink orders in Iced Tai Tea for both of us and then ordered our appatizers of dumplings. While waiting I watched two different package delivery guys come in and the owner offered each of them drinks. Just this alone makes me feel good about coming here. While we were waiting for our mains we were brought extra samplings of fried dumplings, crab delights, and the most amazing fried green beans. Everything was amazing. Our mains were Beef Pad Thai for myself and Linda’s Sweet chili noodle. The portions were large and neither of us could finish it. Yay for leftovers for lunch! Everything we had was Delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and more like going to friends house for dinner vs a large cooperate place. I’m excited for our future reservation. The only con I can say is that reservations are like 2 months out for dinner to eat in. If you don’t want to wait that long they have take out available. Pricey but it was good. I spent 20 bucks on red curry shrimp and an order of egg rolls. I was curious as to how the food was. Like I said. It was tasty, unlike anything I've ever had but a bit costlier than I'd be willing to spend on a meal in the future.

Edit, 2 years later. I haven't gotten here in a while, it's actually hard to do now! Topeka redid the streets and you either have to hold up traffic on the street to get in (back in only) or walk a couple blocks from a sane place to park. Food was awesome (!!) Make sure you check their hours, went at 210 in the afternoon, closed, went back at 530, 90 minute wait for carry out. They are a popular place and, I think, for good reason. Got my food today. I called in this time, right at 5pm, was walking out the door food in hand at 530. This will be my go to strategy from now on! They recognized me from the day before and gave me a Chai Tea and some dumplings as an apology (I gladly accepted!)
In short, plan well and your palate will be awarded.

Rarely rate a place 5 stars but I’m obsessed with this little place. Only 6 tables and a tiny kitchen so make sure to keep that in mind when setting expectations for wait time & carry out. However, well worth the wait. They brought us two additional appetizers “just to try” and everything we ordered was phenomenal. Friendly service and delicious food can’t ask for more!

Been here a few times now and it's always great. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Incredibly nice staff as well. There is generally a bit of a wait (the food is excellent and well priced so yeah) so in my experience it is a good idea to call ahead. I've done that the last two times and the food was ready by the time I got there.

We spent our 25 year wedding anniversary dinner here this week. It was our first visit but won’t be our last! The food was amazing, the service was terrific and the atmosphere was very quaint! We loved it!

My husband and I live in Emporia and we make it a point to eat here when we come to Topeka. The service and the food are unmatched. The host is beyond welcoming and accommodating, especially when they are super busy and the wait time is long. They offered us a free Thai tea before even ordering food knowing the line was long. I certainly believe that this is not only the best Thai restaurant in Topeka, but also maybe in Kansas in general. The three important factors all come together to culminate in amazing experience - food, service, atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious - they have perfected every item on their menu that I have tried. I am trying the dumplings today and they are so tasty and such a nice comfort food. The Pad See Ew was also divine when I tried it on a past visit. The service is next to none - they are so welcoming and kind and apologetic about even a short wait. They genuinely care about giving customers the best experience. Though the restaurant is small, it is mighty in hominess and comfort. Walking in you feel instantly at ease. Can't recommend enough!! This place deserves 5 stars based on my one and only dine in experience there but I was tempted to give them 3 stars. I've been trying to reserve a table a few times and they're fully booked. Today I asked when they have something available and he said 2 weeks from now on a Thursday for lunch time. I wanted to treat my daughter there since she is moving out of Topeka for college but it won't be possible because I didn't plan a month in advance. At this point they should just consider growing their business and hiring more staff and renting a bigger location. It's a shame that it's so frustrating to get in like it's a 3 Michelin star restaurant.

I’m from Seattle and was visiting family in Topeka last month and didn’t have high hopes of finding good Thai food in Kansas, but was I ever wrong. Not only was their Larb and Phad Thai excellent, their service was also top notch! The owners are very friendly and obviously love what they do - they really want you to have a wonderful experience. Well, they were exceedingly successful, and now I’m so looking forward to coming back!

I’ve done take out from Jong’s many times in the past. Tonight was my first time dining in. It’s truly a dining experience unrivaled in Topeka. The food was excellent, the staff friendly, and the experience was a bit of a mix of standard dinner service and a chefs table.

The food was exceptional! We ordered a few different items and shared them family style every dish we tried was so delicious! The staff and the service were really great! We look forward to going back!

Jong’s never fails to make excellent Thai food and their staff couldn’t be nicer. More than once have I gotten a pickup order that has an additional item, free of charge, with a nice message written on it. The owner is beyond friendly and this will forever be my go-to Thai restaurant.

We were informed that it may not be ready until 8:30 P.M., and still let us order from them. It was done way earlier, and they gave us a call when they started on the order so it would not be waiting too long. Not only did they offer us a drink for the ride home after we showed up at 8:05, but they gave us a free appetizer for our wait which was shortened substantially! Every time I have ordered from them, the owners and staff are so kind and accommodating. Even without a wait, they treat us with amazing respect and service, always going above and beyond. Some dishes are served family style, so we shared the Papaya Salad. Always fresh and bursting with flavor. The orange chicken is prepared to perfection with your choice of heat levels. We like mild+ and medium heat. The size of their generous portions often means there will be delicious leftovers for lunch the next day. We often get the Garlic Chicken and it is just as tasty. If there is any room for dessert, the mango sticky rice is a must. Everything at Jong's is made with love and care, served fresh, and delivered to your table with a friendly smile. I can't say enough positive things about Jong's and the lovely people that make it so special. It is a very special GEM located in central Topeka. Call ahead for reservations. We typically book our next reservation before we leave. They also have the option of carryout.

The service and food were both absolutely incredible. We ordered carry out and the man who took our order was so extremely nice and offered us free drinks while we waited. They had the order ready in no time, and even gave us a couple dumplings with a note saying thank you for waiting, which was so kind. The crab delight, dumplings, and pad Thai were all the best I’ve ever had, such amazing flavor. It’s hard to find service & food like this in Topeka, we were so impressed with them. Will definitely be back! Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time if you’re wanting to dine in, but the food quality is just as good with carry out unlike some places. I called near closing time and they stayed open an extra 10 minutes on a friday night to prepare my food.
The staff was incredibly polite and courteous on the phone, and even more so in person. I got the crispy orange chicken, beef fried rice, and pad Thai, each of the meals exceeded expectations. It's clear from the first bite that they're using fresh ingredients, and the flavor is to die for!
When I arrived, one of (I assume) the owners greeted me with a complimentary Thai tea (which is also delicious) and apologized for my wait, as if I wasn't the one keeping them late, then they gave me a wonderful chili pepper sauce, walked me to, and held the door open for me as I left with my order.
When I got home, I saw they threw in some pot stickers!
Wonderful experience, incredible food that you won't find anywhere else in the area, and a very kind and professional staff.

Went to Jong’s last night for our daughter’s 17th birthday dinner. They went above and beyond to ensure our experience was special. The food was incredible, but their service is what sets them apart. We had a large group and the team at Jong’s ensured we were all always taken care of. You can tell they love what they do.

This was my first time eating at Jong’s with a group of colleagues from work. We had EXCEPTIONAL service from everyone from the moment we walked in, to helping decide between dishes, to the attentiveness of water and boxing up leftovers. I had the pineapple curry and it was creamy, delicious, very well balanced with a sweet heat at the end. We also got the coconut ice cream that was fantastic. It took us a bit calling in advance to get a reservation since there is limited seating but it was so worth it. I don’t have any pictures of the food since I ate it all so fast but the presentation was equally as beautiful.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner at Jong’s and could not have been more impressed. They made a special dessert for our party and even gave us a wedding gift! This was already our favorite place to eat in Topeka and they continue to impress. Also the best Thai I’ve had! The friendliest people in town. Thank you, Jongs!

Came through town and stopped here. Although indoor seating was full, I was informed that I could purchase carry out so make lunch reservations when able. I picked up some egg rolls and pad Thai and the food was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend and will return.

If I could leave a higher star review I would in a heartbeat. My fiancé and I have been living in Topeka for about 2 years and just now found out about this place. This place quickly became one of my favorite restaurants I have ever had, I got the Ross's Special Curry and my fiancé got the Pineapple curry. We both smiled ear to ear with how amazing it was. Their steamed dumpling are also fantastic. On top of that, they gave us some free fried dumplings that matched the level of quality of everything else. I could tell so much love went into everything about this restaurant; the food, the atmosphere, and the service are truly top notch. We will be returning there regularly!

My first experience at Jong’s Thai Kitchen was excellent! Although tables were no longer available, my wife and I enjoyed a lovely picnic at the park across the street. The meal was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the crab delight, shrimp spring rolls, Thai tea, and Linda’s sweet chili noodle.
We are excited to experience the in-restaurant dining soon! This family-run business is a true gem for Topeka.

I am always dazzled at the experience I have whenever I eat at Jong's here in Topeka. Whether I'm eating in or carrying out, I feel cared for no matter what. The hospitality/service is like a breath of fresh air amidst the other restaurants in this city.

Not to mention that the food is very delicious and well made every single time. My wife and I eat here more often than we'd like to admit, but for good reason!

I fell in love with Thai when I was in college from a hole in the wall restaurant I discovered by accident. I have not come across any other like till tonight!!! The flavors from Jong's Thai Kitchen took me back to that moment! So good I highly recommend this place. The The staff were all very friendly and welcoming! They were packed so I could tell the food was going to be good. Wow!!

This might be my very favorite Thai place of all time, and I've lived in major cities with strong restaurant cultures! The food is positively outstanding, and the people who run the restaurant are warm, joyful, and generous. When my husband and I mentioned we were staying at a hotel in town, they gave us cutlery and bottled water with our boxed leftovers! If we lived in Topeka, I am certain we would be here every week. I strongly and enthusiastically recommend this wonderful place!

Not only was the food delicious, the owners were very kind. They personally stayed open when we were late due to a storm and made sure we had everything we needed and more. Very grateful!

We generally get carryout, but the dining room is nice. My husband loves the crab fried rice and I like the green curry,
pad Thai, or soups. I recommend medium spice level, if you like a little heat but not a scorching amount. One of my favorite restaurants in Topeka.

The place is tiny and plain on the corner of a residential street... a bit strange for a restaurant. But I must admit, the food was very good and the service was out of this world! You have to reserve ahead because it is a hot dining local favorite. A true diamond in the rough! It was a great experience that everyone should try if you love Thai cuisine. Prices are not bad for all the food they give you. I'm stuffed! I highly recommend this place!

After initially being told I would need to get my order to go, I was called and given a table. What a nice space.

While I was waiting (and they felt they had inconvenienced me) I was brought complementary wontons and a crab Rangoon. Both obviously hand made. Yum.

The pad Thai was great. Truly I haven’t had a bad pad Thai except for once. However what I really liked about this was it wasn’t greasy. So many I’ve tried have a pool of oil, not here.

While I was sitting there Jong came up and visited with me. What great service. What great food. What great taste. Give yourself a smile and try it.

We love trying different cuisines my mouth was flavoring something new, I was excited.
It was a little hard to find but so worth the effort 👌 Absolutely 💯 delicious, we got a courtesy call notifying us on order status every thing was perfect, we called in our order, i was wanting to try a delicious salad,larb, but instead i got a large soup, with rice noodles & crunchy bean sprouts,( lol,larb,large, 😀 ) do sound a like. although I didn't get my larb salad it gives me a reason to come back. Your gonna wanna try every thing on the menu 😋..

Neat little place just across from the park. Not many tables, but takeout was quick and delicious. They even threw in three fried dumplings because of the short wait! Beware online orders though, they do not offer online ordering but have had fake accounts pose as official. Call or come in for the real deal!

I recommend EVERYTHING about Jong’s! We ordered carry out over the phone and the young woman who took our order was so sweet! We even received a phone call to let us know our order was almost ready so that we didn’t end up waiting too long letting our food get cold! The young woman that rang me out was kind and the atmosphere inside the building was warm and welcoming at pick up. We ordered the crab Rangoon, crispy pot stickers, hot and sour soup, crab fried rice, crispy garlic chicken and chicken panang curry. The sweet chili sauce that comes with the rangoons is absolutely life! We’d eat it on everything…even though you definitely don’t need to add flavor to any of their food! Their flavors are on point all the way down to the perfectly cooked rice and the freshness of their crab! They even threw in extra crab rangoons with our side of sauce complete with a thank you note written on the top of the box! We have officially found our new favorite Thai restaurant!!

OK so I can definitely say that I’ve never had such exceptional customer service ever in my life! Every time I come here they seem to step it up a notch. From the moment you walk into the door to when you leave you are made to feel like more than a customer.

I am not normally one to leave a review, however, Jong's Thai Kitchen was so amazing I felt like I needed to write this.
First and most importantly, their food is amazing and SO delicious. Second, the people there were beyond nice. It felt like I was being treated like a regular customer when it was only my first time being there.
We had called in our order and they had mentioned at the very beginning that the wait would be about an hour, which was no big deal for us at the time, so we still placed our order. Then when we went to pick up they gave us a complimentary cup of their Thai iced tea (which is a must get, it was so delicious).
Then when we got back we found they also gave us a complimentary order of their steamed potstickers with a note saying thank you and apologizing again for the wait.

Great food! Great service! Really loved the “Happy Thanksgiving!” message written on the box of complimentary pot stickers (which were delicious) from my take out order. Thanks so much!

We stumbled across the restaurant as we were driving through and needed a lunch stop. What a find. Utterly charming hospitality and totally delicious food, all in a very comfortable environment. I wish I lived closer and this was my local.

What a special find! The owners are the cooks, wait and overall staff obviously loving what they do. The food is delicious and the dining room is comfortable and has personal touches. Check out the origami tip jar and single plant that has been trained and grown across the entire wall. This is the type of mom and pop I love to support. Make reservations as this is a popular spot with reliable, regular, return customers but they will work their butts off to get you a seat at the table. This restaurant is a for sure win for your dinner. Thank you. Keep doing what you do best. I will be back.

It was our first time trying Jong's and it was by far one of the best experiences locally that I have found. The food offers flavors and spice levels for all pallets. Seating is limited but the carryout was very timely 👌 and the staff are very friendly. A must try!

My dad and I went here and needless to say our expectations were beat, the food and the service was quick, efficient, friendly and great and we even were given free fried dumplings as a 'thank you for waiting' gift and the food was DELICIOUS!! I was also given a free refill of my yummy Thai tea and they adjusted the spice level for me to mild plus, which balanced out the flavours .. definitely will be revisiting for sure!

I finally made time to snag some takeout from Jong’s for my parents and I this evening and I quite literally could not have been more impressed. Even despite us calling uncomfortably close to closing time (sorry guys!) they provided the most excellent service and our dinner was SO delicious. They even went out of their way to include a free little appetizer that was more appreciated than I think they could have ever anticipated. I love the experience I had and will be back ASAP to share this local gem with my husband and our friends!

Good looking and good tasting food.

Wanted to try it out for lunch. Went there I was asked if we had reservations, and was told it would be 20 to 30 minutes before open seating was available. Does appear to be a nice looking little restaurant inside and out though. Just have to try planning better on next visit to try it out.

Amazing food and great service.

Absolutely delicious!! We ordered out and they said the expected wait time was 45 minutes, we didn't mind by any means, however, they threw in a free drink and some little crab Rangoon for the wait which was very kind of them. The staff very pleasant. Definitely 10/10 would recommend!

What a wonderful experience! We are driving through numerous states and we were passing Topeka at dinner time. We chose Jong's Thai Kitchen because it was convenient and we wanted some healthy and tasty food. We had the pot stickers, Ross' Curry, and Mango with Sticky Rice for dessert. Delicious! The owners all treated us so kindly. We will be back whenever we pass this way (which is often). Do not miss this restaurant! Five stars all the way around.
