Thai staples & lesser-known specialties served in a cozy space with a lunch buffet & full bar.
This family-owned Thai restaurant is such a gem! The servers are always super kind, attentive, and understanding, which makes every visit a great experience. We’ve never had a bad time here—the food is always delicious and full of flavor. It’s become my family’s favorite spot because every time we dine in, it’s nothing short of excellent. Personally, we love the Moo Yang dish, and I’d definitely recommend the Thai iced coffee too—it’s amazing! The menu is huge, and honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything.
Oh boy, where do I begin?
I frequent this establishment. Their food is authentic and delicious. It gets really busy during their buffet hours, and it makes sense. It is $18 per person for their buffet and I believe it ends at 3PM. My favorite dish there is their dessert. They’re Taro Sago and I’d be devastated if they ever got rid of that. Their fried chicken is delicious and crunchy too. Sometimes their food sits out for a while and it either gets dry or overcooked (I see the overcooking in the veggies). I love their pho that they offer as well. Amazing food. If I’d change one thing, I’d hope for more food in the future. I was sad to see their curry disappear because I loved to eat that with the rice.
I come here a lot and I’d recommend checking out their buffet.
My first time dining at Bangkok Pavilion and I couldn’t stop eating! Everything on the buffet was delicious! The service was fantastic always offering refills and clearing plates as emptied.
The food was all hot and fresh. Noodle soups were offered as well as a variety of seafood dishes, Tempura fried wings that are large meaty . Tender pork crispy spring rolls, the best dumplings I’ve ever had, along with fruit and lettuce wraps and do not miss out on the iced Thai coffee!
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Asian style cuisines !
Quite possibly the best Thai food I've had. Well prepared, deliciously seasoned. Amazing presentation.
We had green curry, squid salad, chicken satay, Pla Rad Prig - with red snapper, the Three Amigo house special, crab fried rice, cashew chicken, and a couple of Boba teas.
Everything was generous portions, and juicy meats. None of that rubbery stuff other places have.
I love this place. I normally go during the weekend buffet, but this time I went for a late lunch during the week. As always the food and the service is amazing. I love their Thai coffee and their spring rolls and Pad That are phenomenal! Well worth the trip. The Robin Hood ribs is also amazing
Every time I eat here, I go in telling myself that I’m going to take advantage of the range of food on the buffet. And every time I end up devouring at least two servings of the red curry and either some potstickers or spring rolls. Friends I’ve dined with assure me that they do an equally good job with everything they make, which wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Though I’ve had dinner here a time or two, the big draw for me is the lunch buffet. The food is delicious. The staff do an excellent job of keeping everything well stocked. Service is friendly without being intrusive. Parking is easy.
Though I’ve eaten at more upscale Thai restaurants in KC, this is the one I keep coming back to.
Best Thai food in KC.

I love the way they prepare their tofu as a protein--more steamed than deep fried!
Pretty good. Not a ton of options but quality over quantity at the weekend buffet. If you have not try the Robinhood ribs. Tender flavorful on a bed of fried rice

This is some of my favorite Thai. It's reliable and has been around a long time.
I discovered Bangkok Thai last spring thru Grubhub and have been many times since. Their lunch buffet is always hot, fresh, and delicious. I order pickup from them at least once a week if not more. Their fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce are an absolute favorite of mine. Their tiger cry beef is also delicious. The workers are friendly and the restaurant is always very clean and tidy inside.
Just damn good food
Food was good, but our server was bad. We were 4 people and she (Kampi, i think thats what she said) charged us for 5+ people so mandatory tip, when i asked about it she showed me the nasty attitude and she said she will remove the charge. But why to charge at first place and when asked should have respectfully responded instead attitude.
Their food basically has 1 flavor... Sugar..all everything tasted like was sugar and overly sweet. The pad Thai didn't have any fish sauce taste, they lady asked what meat and neglected to mention that if you get it as a combo meat there is an upcharge. Their fresh spring rolls were ok, although some other places give shrimp in them for the same price. I won't be going back
Great food worth a try.
Some of the best Thai food in the KC metro with fair prices and always excellent service. I’m always recommending this place to people I know. Their duck noodle soup is delicious
We ordered our meal, which was okay! We ordered two duck meals to go so we could eat on Sunday! There was no meat except for a bunch of fat! The little piece of meat we did find, I couldn't tell, because there was way too much fat and not enough meat to detect what it was. I feel that that it wasn't duck based on the loads of fat! It was gross and we had to throw them out!
If you ever wonder why this place always has an empty parking lot, it's not just you. I recently went in to order chicken pad thai for carry out. I didn't check what they gave me, but when I picked up the order, I noticed it was pretty heavy. Lucky me! I thought. When I actually got home and tried eating this, I went for a few minutes and noticed I hadn't tasted a single piece of chicken. So I started digging and found basically nothing but onions. Eventually I was able to pull out about 3 ounces of stringy chicken from about 3 pounds of noodles. I had to wonder if they had overloaded the noodles to make up for the lack of chicken, and when I went back to complain, they basically confirmed my suspicions.
They refused to give me a refund, and told me that I don't know what to expect from Pad Thai. I guess I've just been spoiled by the myriad of other places that serve it, as well as my Thai ex, so I appreciate the education. They said they wanted me to pay half for a dish I had to return to their restaurant, and I told them if they weren't going to give me my money back, they could keep the food and the money and I'd simple write a review. They decided this was perfectly acceptable, so here we are.
I dunno about you, but I don't want to buy food from people who cut corners with their customers, because if they are cutting those kind of corners, I can only imagine the other stuff they're doing that I can't see.
Go to Lemongrass Thai. Slightly more expensive, way better flavors, and they aren't a ripoff.
Always fresh hot Thai buffet food. Close free parking. Great service. We eat there regularly.
Rude service they smile and were friendly to only white men very discriminatory attitudes
The buffet here is pretty good. The selection isn’t huge but at least the food has seasoning. Their papaya salad is good but I wish it was hotter. The pho is pretty good but could use more flavoring. They don’t provide you hoisin sauce for the pho but do provide you sriracha and toppings but who eats pho with no hoisin?
Tbh this place was so bad omg. The food and everything, I wish I had gone some place else. This restaurant has lack of seasonings and money greedy. They charged my family a large amount of money for barely any food we got. I wouldn’t recommend this to people who like their foods tasty. I would recommend it to people who like no seasoning on their food and to be nasty.
Love the buffet! The curry fish is amazing.
Yah... The Asian food in KC is definitely nothing like what you can get in LA or Vegas... But this place was pretty good. And comparing to some of the other Asian food we tried I decided to give it 5 stars. Tom yum soup was decent. Pineapple fried rice was good. Pad see ewe was good. Papaya salad was nicely spicy but flavor was off... It was too salty and not sweet enough. Kiddo loved the ribs. Crispy fish was good. Def go if you're craving Thai food.
Very low key Chinese restaurant. Lots of freshly made food. Entrees are generous and the people are so warm and kind there.
Highly recommended!!!
Great place for Thai food
I thought about not sharing but I think Mamas should know. They charge buffet for 5 year old and younger(even 2 year old). As long as your baby isn’t infant, they will charge your baby. My baby is 26month old and they are proud to charge her. I said to my waiter that I haven’t seen any restaurants charge 2 year old for a buffet and he said “we do” with an attitude. I don’t have problem paying but come on… I don’t like to pay for the attitude.
Idk am I just a crazy and mean mama?
Oh wait! I guess they have right to charge gratuity on my toddler. What in the world! I guess they don’t want our business and we will take it elsewhere. Oh yeah… he wasn’t the owner so he doesn’t care.
Our favorite Thai restaurant. Some dishes are Lao influenced. The weekend buffet is worth the trip. Weekday buffet is ok, but we prefer dinner menu.
Can’t compete with this place has the best food and good service. There lunch buffet is definitely one of the best times to go to try the different things they offer.
Me and a couple friends stopped by just looked up the nearest thai restaurant from where we were at and what a find this place was, went sunday and had their lunch! And it was amazing everything from the buffet was great, place was clean, everyone was kind, will definetly be coming back foe more!

I've been coming here for years. I've never had bad service or bad food. Best Thai food in KCMO proper!! RN6 Level 2 with shrimp. Can't go wrong.
The staff was friendly and the service was quick. The food is made well and has amazing flavour.
(Update) A really weird incident happened. A customer who turned out to apparently be an investor. This was an old and I don't mean to sound rude but rather disgusting white guy who kept going back behind the counter. A Thai massage girl had come into the restaurant. This old "demon" accosted her and using his apparent power starts giving her a massage and keeps going in spite of her protestation that she'd rather have it from somebody else, i.e. not him. I think he was a regular "customer" of hers elsewhere as well . This whole thing seems to smack of sex trafficking—though it may not have been—it was highly inappropriate especially for somebody apparently had an interest in the restaurant. This was a really bizarre scene. And the guy was just so hideously ugly as I was making her ugly too! I didn't like having to see that.
Good value. Thanks for having this place! A good value. At risk of sounding like a wimp, watch the anchovies and peppers, I think it is. Ouch!
Excelente
This is Thai food. Genuinely had me missing home and reminded me of my visit to Thailand they even had the grilled street chicken.
Sorry that there are no pictures but I dove head first into my bowl of yellow curry. It was so good! Many items on the menu looked delicious but I was hangry for chicken curry and it didn't disappoint. I believe that they have a buffet for lunch and we plan on going back very soon. I highly suggest that you give Bangkok Pavilion a try.
Taste very bad not original Thai people cook.. laab Very fishy, super bad taste
Absolutely love this place. We come for the lunch buffet. Fresh, tasty food and friendly staff.
Very good food. Awesome portion for the price. Very very fresh.
Wongton soup so so good
Coming back for sure
Love love love their yellow curry. One of the best buffets in KC.
The buffet was really good. I have never been here before. It’s definitely worth it.
Holy wow, what an amazing buffet! They even small bowls of Phó. Super friendly and attentive staff too. Check this place out!
This place is fantastic. A bit hidden away, but also, never a wait. The yellow curry chicken and crab rangoons are fantastic.
Want variety of good food go during weekend for buffet
It's a Chinese buffet. They have Mongolian grill, sushi. Fairly decent.
Love the food!
Reasonable price for the lunch buffet. My kid likes it, so a plus for me. Friendly staff. Just wish they would switch up the food items once in a while.
Label your stuff when people order takeout! It's not that hard, however, it is hard for 5 people to toss around identical containers playing guess whose! Food isn't too bad, although I'm not sure what exactly I ate, but thanks for the 12 pounds of steamed rice.🙄
Oh, and be sure to scour up some chopsticks or plastic cutlery. They don't even give you napkins.
The food was very good perfect amount of spice. Service fast friendly and knowledgeable.
I was looking for a little more Thai food but it was still very good.
Excellent food options and great service!
Great food
The Pad Thai is amazing. I've been here with many groups and everyone has always been happy. The Steak Salad dish the suggested was delicious. They can make it pretty spice, I recommend ordering a level below what you think you want the first time.
Absolutamente delicioso y la atención de diez sin duda alguna muy recomendado
Great food and excellent curry
My wife's favorite Thai restaurant.
Had 4 runs to the porcelain God within 15 minutes of eating ending in an appt with Dr Imodium. Used to love this place. Never again
Mom and I had the buffet which was small but very nice. What we really enjoyed was the beef noodle soup/pho and the ginataan dessert. So good!! We don't get up to OP too often, but will definitely eat here again next time we're there!
Good food and service.
Awesome Thai food and great service!
Amazing food and great service. I can't believe this place isn't busier...the word needs to get out!
This place is not where you wanna go for good food. It is horrible looking . Looks dried out not fresh .
This place has been here for decades -& for a reason! Hospitality is king here and the food is deeee-lish! If you like Thai food, try it! I'm a vegetarian and love the options here - yummy & big servings. Less veggie options during Sunday buffet-time, but enough to keep me happy.
We ordered the Chicken fried rice, the basil fish, seafood pad thai and veggies stir fry; all very tasty. The service was great, utensils were clean and the water was purified ( which is always a plus)
Came in to order just a Thai Tea and the woman who took my order came back with a Thai Tea slushi. I told her that's not what I ordered and she said that's what she loves to drink and that's normal. I told her I just wanted a Thai Tea and she gets upset and goes back to get me a regular Thai Tea and never gives me back any change. When I asked about the change, she told me to just go. Absolutely rude and do not recommend!
If you don't know this place, you are 100% missing out. They treat you like family and their food is like mana from heaven. ❤️
Best Thai in Kansas City! The Tofu Vegetable Red Curry…. I think I could eat this dish every day of my life 🥰
Here are some of my other favorites:
💕Panang Curry
💕Fresh Spring Rolls
💕Papaya Salad
The staff is very kind and efficient! I always enjoy dining here.
The food was good and the price was decent. We went shortly before close and one lady was rude, but I'll give it a pass as it was late.
This is a sad, dismal place. I had eaten there before, maybe 15 years ago, and back then it wasn't horrible. But now it has the vibe of a person on their deathbed, their will to live long depleted, apathetically lying there waiting to die.
The tabletops were sticky, and whatever the sticky stuff was, it didn't respond to our server wiping it down again as we sat there holding our menus in our laps. It seems the stickiness was the very table itself, not merely some kind of goo spilled on top.
The spring rolls were actually good, but all the other food items were varying degrees of... not good. The glass noodles in my Pad Sea Ew were mealy, the pork was gristly, the flavorings of all the dishes were just slightly off in various ways. And so forth and so on.
I could write 3 or 4 more paragraphs here delineating the exact badness of it all, but why? Out of respect for the terminally ill, let's just leave it lie. It will all be over soon enough.
the BEST ever crab rangoons ever. Cheap prices and very generous portions. The staff is very hospitable and welcoming. If you’re in the area, this place is a must!!
Most unique crab rangoons I've ever eaten. A must try. Loaded with crab and cream cheese.

Though I’ve eaten at more upscale Thai restaurants in KC, this is the one I keep coming back to.
Great food (thai food is spicy, I recommend level 2). Waiting staff is very attentive and friendly, never lacked for anything. Highly recommended. 👍👍
Who doesn't like a delicious Thai buffet? Delicious!
Very quiet place and nice place for a dating dinner. The staff is very friendly and our food were ready fairly quick, and everything taste great. I have been to Thailand, so I know if a Pad Thai is good or not just by the first bite. If you are around 95th and Metcalf and looking for good Thai food, give this place a try.
The owners are great! Price is great!
Eat here practically twice a week! Love the Panang Curry.
I always try to go to Bangkok Pavillion whenever I'm in KC. Their Sunday brunch buffet is amazing, with a wide variety of delicious Thai dishes like Pad Thai, curry, and even Phở. They definitely provide quality dishes you would expect to find at traditional sit-down restaurants.
Can't read simple instructions with online orders
- buffet from MONDAY to FRIDAY is from 11am to 2:30PM!!!! The kitchen stops cooking for the buffet @ 2pm. $12.95 per person. SATURDAY and SUNDAY the buffet is from 11am to 3pm. $17.95 per person.
Fave Crab Rangoon, Tom Gai, and wings in town!
I ordered food to-go 45 minutes before they closed and they said It would be ready in about 10-15 minutes. When I arrived it wasn't quite ready yet so I waited a couple of minutes and then got my order and left. I got into my vehicle and it started to stink up my vehicle with this rancid smell. I thought maybe it was normal? The food wasn't for me so I wasn't sure. Anyway, the person it was for said it wasn't good and it should be taken back. Now my house also smells of rancidness and it's gross.
Bottom line, if you get food somewhere and a not good smell fills every crevice, take it back immediately.
I'll update my review once I speak to them tomorrow. But for now, one star only because I can't go less.
Delicious food, friendly and knowledgeable server. Gave a recommendation that was amazing. They know their stuff!
We will be returning!
I ordered the pineapple fried rice... Delicious.
My fiance ordered the Duck speciality plate. He said he was the best he's ever had
This restaurant is absolutely fantastic! Amazing and personable service, authentic and unbelievably tasty food... oh my gosh! Total wow! I highly recommend their food - and dine in if you can - just to get the whole experience. Tips: the taro tapioca pudding was incredible, as was the Mango boba tea, paneng curry and coconut soup. (She said they can make pretty much any dish vegetarian - which made my husband happy - and I had beef in my curry.)
Tasty food, authentic Thai feel, generous portions, and reasonable prices!
Get the taro tapioca pudding dessert! You have never had anything like it! It is made with coconut milk and actual taro root - I was expecting taro powder like every other place in the USA.
I've eaten here 5 times and I ordered the ribs over fried rice every time. They are some of the best ribs in town and I know that this sounds wacky since we're basically living in rib town.
Didn't taste good.
Good food and service
The 3 amigos is fantastic. Every suggestion that they have made I have enjoyed. Level 3 is pleasantly spiced Level 4 is aggressive, I assume Level 5 spice is like a trip to hell.
The golden wings appetizer Which is chicken wings,Are made with cornstarch So they're gluten-free which is great for me.Big wings also
Been going with family and on my own for years. The owners are the best.
Very nice workers, awesome food. Love the buffet they offer
The food was average. They do not have a lot of traditional Thai foods there.
The waiter was acting weird and giving us suggestions about our selection like we never had Thai food before. He didn't know that we can cook Thai food from scratch.
First time here, but went with coworkers some who have been before and helped me find some good food to pick from the buffet. I had a good time and the food was good, even tried food I never had before.
Love it
I had not been there before But it was very Good and I will go back!! I had stir fried veggies and veggies ! They ask how spicy i had 2 which was very good for me!! My dinner was $12. I think ?
The buffet is top notch but ordering off the menu is a great option as well! All the food is delicious and the staff is great!!
Consistently good food, both dine in and carry away. Fast, hot and exactly as described on the menu. Great portion sizes. Excellent apps!
I've only tried curry vegetables with tofu but it's always good
Wouldn’t recommend to any one. There are not a lot of items for buffet, food was very cold except for soup, chicken was very hard and dry. Not worth the price they charged for me
The curry flounder is out of this world. Everything here is good. Service is great as well.
Wonderful lunch buffet!
A nice variety of Thai food! My favorite is the curry fish ( flounder ), BBQ pork, and Tom Yam.
Best pad thai in KC. I always get the spicy Shrimp Pad Thai. I’ve tried other dishes as well and they are were amazing.
Went for lunch and was disappointed to find it was buffet. I just wanted to order a meal as I and others in my party don't usually eat much. The food was just okay. The shrimp was hard to peel as it was old and not very tastly. Surprised to find it was $18/person for lunch when the bill came. I recommend you do not eat here!
Quick take out service and the food was delicious.
Delicious Pad Thai every time!
Went to buffet around 1, and not very fresh looking stuff! Flavors still good!
The food is amazing. The crab Rangoon is huge and filled w crab. Everything I've ate is great everytime. The family is so sweet and helpful.
Really good Thai food!
Love their pho
It's not often you find a Thai buffet, and when you do it's usually just Chinese food with the serial numbers filed off.
That's definitely not the case here. While the spiciness of the buffet offerings certainly won't challenge aficionados of Thai cuisine, they'll appreciate the selections. And there are plenty of options available to bring the heat for even the most cast iron palates.
For even more variety, come for dinner and order off the menu.
Whether you come for the buffet or the menu, do yourself a favor and get an order (or several) of the best spring rolls in town!
I haven't tried a large selection of their menu's yet, but the weekend buffets are great. However being a foodie I was just blown away by their Papaya Salad (Laotian style). It's the only place that actually used the salted crabs. We'll keep updating.
LoveLoveLOVED discovering this place! The food was outstanding and the owner is just a gem of lady.
What a find! Went for the buffet and was not disappointed. Everything was great, including the service.
We came here during lunch time and had the buffet. They had plentiful various dish that we tried out. It was nice to be able to experience different flavors and spice levels that this restaurant had to offer. Food is fresh and rotated throughout our visit. You also have the option to order from their menu. We had a good experience and will come back again.
I have never seen a Thai Buffett and this was a glaring reason why. Pad Thai was good but no meat or spice. Golden Chicken was also super crispy but everything else was terrible. Drink was flat, seafood was rubbery. If I return I'll try a made to order dish.
Good good good service!❤️
Absolutely amazing!
This place is one of the best place in the area.
Great food and service. Will be coming back.
Very dissapointed, service was below par, our appetizer order was lost, a shrimp dish my wife ordered was overcooked.
Very little apologies given and charged in full.
They have lost a regular customer.
Always fantastic and the buffet is back! Tom Yum soup and Grapow chicken are a match made in heaven. A Thai friend says this is the most authentic Thai food in the area. It's certainly the most delicious.
Good food reasonable prices. Buffet or menu
Very good food. You get what you pay for. t Buffet is good on weekends you'll get a chance to try a lot of different foods the quality is good
Great ladies and a Great atmosphere!
I had the Penang curry and it was one of the best I've ever had (including in Thailand) the Thai tea really brought me back too! My friend (who hates spicy food) was very happy with his bean curd soup (though he didn't realize bean curd is tofu) and noodles.
Always delicious! The red snapper is da bomb!
Our favorite thai restaurant was closed tonight so we went ahead and ordered from Bangkok Pavilion. We ordered three king soup (fire pot size), fresh spring rolls, chicken pad thai and pad lo mein. I really enjoyed the pad lo mein but wish there was more egg in it as compared to the large chunks of chicken that were somewhat dry.
I wish that the quantity of soup was a bit more and would justify the price point. The soup was tasty but could do with a bit of fish sauce for that extra flavor. There were a lot of frozen vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli in it but their website should have allowed me to choose a spice level for the soup as it did for the main course.
The fresh spring rolls were crunchy with the right amount of glass noddles and were very refreshing but there was hardly any chicken in there.
The chicken pad thai was a little too sweet but there was a good wok flavor in it. Again, there were big chunks of a bit dried out chicken in the pad thai.
It was an okay experience and they do have a good menu. I appreciate them packing the soup in a different bag than the noodles to avoid spillage. My pick up was prompt and the food was ready in 15 minutes.
Food too salty.
If you haven't been, go. Thai curries are excellent.
Food and service are excellent. Wish more people knew about this place as it really is underrated. And I'm not that big into Thai food but this definitely has me craving it more.
I LOVE THIS PLACE. They are so kind to our kids and our drinks are always filled. Definitely recommend the weekend buffet as well!
Food was ok not the best Thai food. Buffet sucks! Not much of a selection, just the basic Thai dinner food. Pad-thai noodles was the worse!!! Wrong noodles was used and terribly cooked. AND the food was old and setting out for awhile. And they didn't filled the food when it's gone. The only thing that was good was the flounder curry dish.
Sounds like this Thai restaurant was very greedy and only want your money! They don't care about the food that they are serving. Probably will not come back again!
I like papaya salad!! Chicken wings ...best mai thai
